War for the Solar System [OOC, Open] Need an Earth

Postby Ben M » Fri Jan 23, 2015 5:14 am

Note: This RP is slightly based off of a book called the Quiet War and on the Robots of Dawn series. You do NOT need to have read these books to participate.

The year is 2160.

IC http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?ns=1&f=31&t=328465

The World was dying, yet no one did anything to save it. Climate change devoted the Earth as superstorms, Ocean rise and mass extinction drop humanity to face this one fact. Earth was dying. At first, response was sluggish, but as the global temperature reached unprecedented levels, growing at an exponential rate, many decided space was the answer. The first group of intrepid explorers touched down on Mars on June 26th 2048 in conclusion to an 8 month journey that set the course for human kind.

As the Martian colony grew and prospered many saw space as the answer. At first hundreds flew to Mars, then thousands. Eventually, after 30 years, Mars’s population was equal to 18 million people. Billions of dollars were poured into space exploration, life was discovered in places both expected and unexpected. People flocked now not only to mars but other moons and even asteroids. These colonists became known as the Spacers. Still more came, eager to find their way in the but the emigration did nothing to Earths vast seas of people. Climate got worse. Temperature got worse. Cities erected domes to protect themselves from the adverse conditions. At the precise time the spacers were expanding up, the earthmen were digging down.

The year complications arose was the year 2123, almost 80 years after the original martian colonization. This was when the Mars challenged its charter, claiming independence from the dirt baggers burrowing into earth. This is when the wars of independence blossomed across the system. The spacers had advanced technology and distance, but Earth had the power of sheer numbers and desperation. They needed the spacers, pure and simple. Earth lashed out and crushed Martian and Venetian resistance. Ultimately they couldn't subdue the spacers will and the Earth soldiers were unaccustomed to the openness of Mars and space. These disadvantages presented themselves in the invasion of the Main Asteroid Belt.

The Asteroid Belt had long been a prosperous region of the solar system for obvious reasons, asteroid mining. Their expertise in maneuvering through the field became apparent. This war was long before current times and such relativistic speeds were still a dream. The Spacers used the clunky earth ships to their advantage, and while the Main Asteroid belt is thinly spread, they threw asteroids at the Earth ships at speeds the Earth men could barely think of. To make matters worse was Earth’s defeat at Ceres, which managed to fight off the bulk of an Earth invasion. The Earthmen needed the spacers alive, and the spacers knew this. They forced the Earth men to land and fought it out in open space or open ground. The earthmen were unaccustomed to the open space they were presented with and dissent ran amongst the ranks. Defeat after defeat followed and the war became more and more unpopular.

The Independence of all heavenly bodies from earth aside from Earths own moon, was established and ratified on January first 2145. This marked a resurgence in the exploration of the Solar System without Earth’s permission or wishes. Earth was embargoed and barred from expansion. While the spacers prospered and flourished earth descended into a dark age. The climate worsened and worsened. The once perfect domes were eroded and decaying. The cities were broken and dirty. That is when the Terra Party took power. The Terrans ran on the ticket of fixing the planet. They poured countless research on environmental engineering. They rediscovered lost genetics and carbon capture theory. Slowly but surely they rebuilt the planet they had lost. Domes disappeared. Animals reappeared from labs. The Oceans changed back from brown to blue. A cultural renascence emerged from the dust and ash and Earth once again became the blue marble in the sky. Earth payed the price though, its freedom. The Terrans established a strict regime based around the protection of earth. As Earth emerged from its dark age it was once again hated and feared by the spacers. As Earth moved on a traditionalist and fundamental path towards the past cultures the Spacers continued to diverge as far as possible from it. The Spacers themselves, played by differences and distance, grow apart and fear each other. As tensions grow Earth looks back out to the systems it once owned.

5 The Moon is occupied by Earth. Do not claim more than 3 moons or one planet.
6 Non Earth life forms can be implemented as long as they are of, at most, the biological complexity of (In the Ocean or large body of Water) a large shark or fish, and (On land) A dog. Genetically manipulated animals are a case by case.
7 I have final say blah blah blah.
8 Tech limitations are case by case. In general this rule will be loosely enforced, except on military matters.

Nation Name: The Jovian Triumvirate
Planets/moons/stations controlled: Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto
Religion (if applicable): Humanism, Faith in Humanity.
Tech Specialty (If applicable): Robotics and AI.
Population: 3 billion. Easily 6-7 billion robots of all shapes and sizes.
Leader(s) (If Applicable): Giovanni Aleccedi, Francisco Marquelan, and Marco Gredonis
Government system: Oligarchic Council of three (The three leaders or the Big Three) Control all major functions of the nation. They have the power to select oligarchic councils of 6 for each moon under their control. These councils take care of smaller matters. On an even more local scale is a tentative democracy.
Colony type (Domed Cities, terraformed planet, etc): Domed Under Water Cities beneath the surface. On all three there are some aboveground domed Cities as well.

Relations with other Spacer Nations: Will fill in when applicable.

Relation with Earth (Not applicable if Earth): The Triumvirate was the strongest pusher for an embargoed and confined Earth. Terran philosophies about the importance of Earth life ranks Jovian life sub standard. The Jovians are also anti expansionist and seek to confine Earth to Earth. Peace is an uneasy reality however, and trade between the systems is profitable for both sides.
History:
The Jovian colonies were the first to be established after the Martians. It was also the first, but not the last, to discover alien life. This impacted the settlers greatly as life was so prominent on Europa and Ganymede. The people celebrated this life and created domed cities similar to earth. Europa was settled first, followed quickly by Ganymede. These planets were easily colonized due to the abundance of water and heat. Less so Callisto, the frozen rock of the Jovian Triumvirate. This was colonized by settlers from Europa as an effort to join the colonization bandwagon. The colony, while successful, was hard. Their success at Callisto is largely attributed to robots. Robotisicts would send robots to an unexplored and unsettled part of the moon and have them build away while colonists arrived en masse. This system was extremely effective at quick and large scale building. Afterwards robots were adapted to the household, and became a staple tool and instrument in any house on Callisto. This trend spread to Europa and Ganymede, as robots could do things Humans couldn't. They raised the standards of life tremendously and scientists got hard to work improving them, molding their models to make them appear more and more human, and shaping their minds to resemble the Human brain more and more. They were limited however in achieving full intelligence, as Robots had to follow one law, programmed into all of them. They must not Harm humans. Older robots were very easy to "Roblock", or shut down by giving them a situation in which a human is harmed no matter what. As robots got more and more advanced they gained much stronger reasoning ability and Rowlock faded from existence.

While the Jovians joined The Terrran wars early on, they were avoided for the most part. The only easily accessible planet was Callisto, as the others were buried under kms of ice and another few kms of Ocean. Callisto itself was heavily defended. It was taken however, in the middle of the war, a fact it conveniently forgets, and was used as a jump post for Terran ships. It was Retaken quickly by Europa and Ganymede in a daring and adventurous conquest. Callisto had been carrying on numerous sabotage and espionage missions and is still seen as crucial for the war effort by the Jovians, although it is seen as a burden by many other spacers. This same attitude is extended by the Jovians to the residents of Titan, who conveniently overthrew their already loose"Chains" towards the end of the war. In the aftermath of the war a ray of hope was announced. The first humaniform robots were being produced on Callisto. These robots could perform much higher reasoning. The AI unit of their positron brains had human intelligence and reasoning. As they were implemented into Jovian society many Jovians at first mistook them for humans. As the novelty died down the differences became stark to the Jovians, but not so to foreign visitors.

Recently, due to tourism, 3 space stations have been set up around each planet as customs and monitoring posts. The military has been upgraded and over crowding has turned Jovian eyes inward and outwards towards some of the larger and unsettled objects in the solar system. Expansion seems imminent.

Nation Name: The Terran Authority
Planets/moons/stations controlled: Earth, Luna, International Space Station
Map Claims: Earth and Luna. I'll draw it out when I'm not on my phone.
Religion (if applicable): Varied
Tech Specialty (If applicable): Firepower
Population: 7 billion. The population on Earth is recovering from ecological disaster while the lunar population is stable.
Leader(s) (If Applicable): General James Bittersteel
Government system: Military Junta
Colony type (Domed Cities, terraformed planet, etc): Aerial habitats
Relations with other Spacer Nations: Regardless of any personal histories, the Terran Federation maintains a hostile attitude towards the spacers. Earth still considers all of Sol to be her territory despite the sovereignty of the Spacers.
Relation with Earth (Not applicable if Earth):
History:
Following the rise of the Terra Party, the dying human nation reformed into the Terran Authority, a military state masterminded by General Kirill Ostanov and Lieutenant General James Bittersteel. The two men quickly crushed their planetside opposition before asserting their dominance. From there, Ostanov vowed to prevent Earth's death and while funding scientists and ecologists, poured out a stream of pro-Earth propaganda causing a fervor of support from the people to save Earth. In the background, Ostanov was having Bittersteel operate behind the scenes as the head of the new Terran secret police. Dissenters were sent to lunar labor camps or slaved on upgrades to the International Space Station which would eventually become Ostanov's capital.

As Earth became reborn, the citizens of the moon became uneasy with the radical reforms of the Terran Authority and remembering the successes of the Spacers, rebelled. Ostanov assembled a fleet and prepared for a very bloody war between the close neighbors. Luna had no intention of starting the war and hoped to govern peacefully without Terran intervention, but knew that Ostanov would not allow this. They waited for a Terran attack to retain the moral high ground. The attack came a month later with a massive Terran fleet attacking Lunar Station 002. While the Terrans were occupied, Lunar forces entered Terran space and attacked several orbital shipyards before being driven off. For the next few months, Terran ships pursued battered lunar fleets across the system all the way into the Kuiper belt. The Lunar fleet won varies successes, destroying the Terran flagship, disabling the ISS, and taking control of a large Terran sensor array. However, Terran forces on Luna were winning for more resounding victories, such as taking Armstrong City, crippling Lunar communications, and razing the Lunar capital. One year into the war, Luna developed a new warship, the Apollo Class, which was more advanced than any Terran ship. A task force flagshipped by the Apollo decimated an invading Terran fleet and launches a daring raid on Earth. They were fought off, but did crippling damage to the Terran orbital network and fleet. It soon became apparent that the Terran Authority needed to develop a counter to the Apollo Class and built the Odyssey Class as a result to level the playing ground. While the Apollo was heavily shielded but highly maneuverable, the Odyssey was heavily armed but cumbersome. In the final clash of the Lunar War, a Terran fleet numbering over a thousand ships invaded Lunar space against only two hundred vessels. Luna surrendered at the Treaty of San Fransisco. Ostanov breathed a sigh of relief that the Terran Authority had survived. The moon's infrastructure had been crippled in the war and Ostanov was forced to aid in the reparations. He took care to avoid the reconstruction of shipyards over the moon. In contrast to Luna's treachery, the war had seen goodwill and support pouring out of the Terran population and Earth left the war more powerful than it had been in years. With both Apollo and Odyssey Class ships filling the Terran Navy, Ostanov had never been more powerful.

Bittersteel however, had been relegated to commanding a ship in deep space exploring distant Kuiper Belt Objects and chasing comets passing through the system. In this time, he detected an ancient signal from a long dead alien race. As his ship scanned the signal, Bittersteel fainted and dreamed of a dark figure on a throne, having enslaved the human race. Upon awaking, he rushed back to Earth to warn Ostanov of wha he had seen. Ostanov disregarded his former lieutenant as insane. Two days later, Ostanov and Bittersteel were taking a transporter to London when Bittersteel was called away for a meeting with his crew. Ostanov took the transporter alone and died in a tragic accident caused by computer errors in the transporter. Bittersteel assumed leadership of the Terran Authority and promoted himself to a full five star general. He got to work strengthening Terran orbital defense platforms and recalled all deep space vessels to defend Earth from the alien assault he feared. The assault never came but he worked slavishly to prevent the throned figure from coming. Passing stricter laws and gradually becoming more oppressive, Bittersteel turned the Authority from a quasi military state into his own personal dictatorship. It never dawned on him that the dark figure on the throne was himself. The prophecy had ironically become true.

Nation Name: Metheus

Planets/moons/stations controlled: Provenance, a Stanford Torus in orbit on a path between Saturn and Jupiter

Map Claims: A tiny dot that moves.

Religion (if applicable): Most are not religious, however there's a bit of meditative contemplation going on. A lot of philosophies.

Tech Specialty (If applicable): The Provenance scientists have come to specialize in the blending of biology and synthetic technology.

Population: 500 million

Leader(s) (If Applicable): None. This may change during the rp however.

Government system: Anarcho-Capitalism. Surprisingly it actually works, mainly because of a shared philosophy, their small population and their like-mindedness due to equal upbringings and similar genetics.

Colony type (Domed Cities, terraformed planet, etc): Stanford Torus

History:
What today are the Metheans were once a large group of scientists and ecologists on earth, some of which were part of the Terra Party, and others of who were funded by it, and others which were funded by the people that were being funded. They were known as the TRA, or the Terra Restoration Agency, an agency hell-bent on turning earth into the green world that it once was. There were two sections of the TRA, the bio's and the geo's; those who worked to restore the ecology of the planet and those who worked to restore the geology and atmosphere. The Geo's were lead by Dr. Alexi Volkov, a genius russian inventor with multiple doctorates in nano-engineering, carbon capture and carbon synthetics. He and his right hand man, Victor Balandin, were the first to make breakthroughs in carbon capture theory as well as invent the machines themselves that would filter the CO2 from the oceans and atmosphere and collect it to be brought back to the lab for further experimentation.
The Bio's, on the other hand, were lead by Dr. Lara Becker, a German biologists with multiple doctorates in varying areas of genetics, biology and ecology. The Bio's rediscovered many lost genetics and restored a large number of earths plants and ecosystems, although not all could be saved. Although the Bio's and the Geo's were in different groups, they worked together and brought earth to what it is today.
However, as the TRA worked to improve the planet, they became oblivious to the Terran Authority's attempts to enslave it as well as the wars that raged above them.

It was soon after the world had been rid of its immense amounts of CO2 and the ecology had just begun to be restored that Dr. Alexi made the printer, a powerful complex machine capable of turning carbon based materials directly into new and profound concoctions. It took 3 years to make and refine, and was the pinnacle of Alexi's career and yet he kept it hidden from the rest of the world, fearing that they would use it in their fights against their enemies.

Conflict arose as earth became close to being fully restored. The TRA, having increased its size over the years and adopting a larger and more diverse scientific community, discovered new and wondrous advancements along the way, wanted to further improve earth. They wanted to more than just restore ecosystems as had been their original mission; they wanted to improve on it, evolve it. As they met opposition they began to see the corruption and oppression that they had missed all those years. As the fight for Luna became more bloody, and the populous and Terra party began to shun the TRA's beliefs, it became apparent to them that they no longer belonged. Using the printer and the immense supply of captured carbon, as well as the funds and facilities that the Terra Party had offered them, they created ships, ships that could house them and their research and carry it to the stars and planets beyond. And so they left; 10,000 scientists of varying educations and degrees taking with them years and years of research and technology, leaving behind an empty facility with wiped computers, empty silos and a blackout that lasted 20 minutes.

It took them a few years to build their home, a home built for fear that if they inhabited a planet they risked being found, a home built for need of isolation from strangers; built out of simple paranoia and a fear that scouting for a home would lead to their unwanted discovery. From the asteroid field they collected the carbon they needed and then fed it to the Printer, which printed out the pieces to their great design. Slowly they worked, for they feared to much activity would draw attention. In time the Geo's had finished their creation, a Stanford Torus that could house them and their creations, an architectural wonder created from the strongest man-made materials ever recorded, that could simulate both gravity and a changing day. They filled it with a dirt that they had invented, a soil that would supply it's life with nutrients. From there they filled it with water that had been harvested from the ice of asteroids and it became the Bio's turn. The Torus became filled with life, ecosystems of both human invention and natural origin, and from there they built more. Houses and cities and labs rose from the new ground and soon their home had been completed. And so they called it Provenance, for it was their home and their new beginning.

Now that they had their home they would need to populate it, protect it. Using the sperm and eggs of the 10,000 as well as synthetic uterus's they grew their new population, but they were scientists and they saw this as an opportunity. They modified this new population before birth, eliminating unneeded genetics, perfecting their own race. The Original 10,000 became known as the Prometheans, and the rest were their children. Returning to their labs they sought to further improve the human race, correct what follies evolution had created and adding technology to their nervous systems, technology that would make their lives easier and increase the function of the human body. They took out organs that were imperfect and replaced them with ones that were. They added new organs with new functions, strengthened muscles. They improved on the eyes, allowing them to see colors that they had never seen before, allowing the ears to hear what they had never heard before. They strengthened the bones biologically and then strengthened them further with implanted casts. They altered the blood, allowing wounds to clot so much faster than it had before. They made adrenaline a chemical that could be summoned with a thought, the heart an organ that could never falter, monitored by a pacemaker of human creation. Without limit they continued to improve, inventing ways for humans to interact with their new environment, both physically and mentally. Using new implants that used technology developed centuries ago, doors and mechanical objects could open and respond with a thought. With new implants in the nervous system, people could literally connect to computers and enter a virtual environment that resided inside. Remembering the government that had tried to enslave its population, they created their own that based around full individual freedom with laws of the most basic human rights.

They created the military out of fear and paranoia. They wished to contact others but they would need some measure of protection before they did so. The military was made of volunteers, around 30% of the population becoming members of what became known as the Force, those who improved themselves physically even more than the others, becoming living weapons of destruction and firepower. Another 10% became known as the Armorers, those who put their research and inventing into creating military technology and implementing it into the Force and the Navy.

Since the development of the military and the contact with other nations, Metheus and its citizens have evolved greatly. As has the use of their technology.
Travel has evolved into a pure augmentation activity; from jumping and jet-packing to attaching oneself to publicly owned exo-vehicles (jumping, jetpacking and grappeling type stuff are more common in urban areas and exo-vehicles are less common whereas the opposite is true for rural areas, excluding the great sea which is half swimmers half exo-jetskis).
Martial fighting has become a trend and street-fighting is common, although real injuries are rare. When the fighters want a little more fun they may turn on the Hybrid Reality and duke it out (Hybrid reality explained later).
The virtual reality has also taken on but is mostly used for scientific use and to contact other scientists, and takes up nearly 100% of the education system, however there is currently a massive vrmmo going on. An invention called Catalog has replaced what was marketing adds in earth's culture, which are basically large screens that are of a specific material that the watcher's eye tells them is a Catalog. The watcher can then choose what they want to see and surf the market using the screens, or simply not see the screen at all. Since the Catalog is in the augmented eye itself and not actually existing, two people can look at the same Catalog and see two different things.
Another recent invention (or more specifically, a recent discovery) are the H.I.'s or Hybrid Intelligences, a specific kind of A.L.s (artificial life). H.I.'s appear to be like Ai's and yet they are not. They appear to be able to feel emotion, and are currently not yet entirely understood. Currently, while studies are being done to assure their safety, they have been allowed into the virtual reality and Hybrid reality, and exist there.
[Side note: Most A.L. creations follow rule 5 of the rp, however H.I.'s are unique in that they follow rule 6]
The Hybrid Reality is the second pride and joy of the virtual reality community. Rather than fully putting oneself into a virtual reality, the Hybrid reality is a reality that exists in a citizens augmentation. The people in a hybrid reality can both see and interact with the normal reality, and see and react with the computer generated reality, by use of hijacking the individuals augmented eyes and limbs (senses such as sight and hearing and smell are transmitted into the brain to add to the currently existing scene, and augmented muscles are hijacked to simulate a reaction to forces created within the hybrid reality) The limitation to the Hybrid reality (unlike the VR) is that you can't increase ones powers and augmentation past what they already are, so the only elements added into the normal reality is virtual weapons and enemies as well as destruction of scenery. This does make it ideal for military training. The exception to this is that A.I's and H.I's that enter the Hybrid reality can pretty much program their own physique and act as though they're in a VR rather than an HR.

Quazin the Great wrote:Nation Name: Metheus

Planets/moons/stations controlled: Provenance, a Stanford Torus in orbit on a path between Saturn and Jupiter

Map Claims: A tiny dot that moves.

Religion (if applicable): Most are not religious, however there's a bit of meditative contemplation going on. A lot of philosophies.

Tech Specialty (If applicable): The Provenance scientists have come to specialize in the blending of biology and synthetic technology.

Population: 500 million

Approved

Leader(s) (If Applicable): None. This may change during the rp however.

Government system: Anarcho-Capitalism. Surprisingly it actually works, mainly because of a shared philosophy, their small population and their like-mindedness due to equal upbringings and similar genetics.

Colony type (Domed Cities, terraformed planet, etc): Stanford Torus

Relations with other Spacer Nations:

The Jovian Triumvirate: Current relations with the Jovians are very good. Being the first to be contacted by Metheus, they have since been the first foreigners to be allowed on Provenance although only specific scientist personnel and important personnel are allowed. They have also been the first nation to have visitors from Provenance. Since then the two have created an alliance based on intelligence and scientific research.

Titania: Titania was the second nation to be contacted and travel has become roughly the same as for the Jovians although considerably more constricted (mainly diplomatic). They appreciate Titania's stance towards other spacers in terms of earth and appreciate what protection they might offer, however have a small feeling of distaste towards them for their reference of technology as a tool. Metheus trades Titania technology that they feel will be used medically in turn for large supplies of methane.

Great Utility Foundation: The Great Utility Foundation has not been contacted by the people of Provenance. Their neutrality is seen as a threat as is their trade with earth. Although their closeness with the orbit of Saturn means they might eventually accidentally discover Provenance, the Metheans hope to keep that from happening for as long as possible.

Neptune: The Pirates of Neptune currently do not know the location of Provenance, and the Metheans would like to keep it that way. Although they do not fear the direct threat of the pirates, they fear an increase in pirate activity around Provenance might alert an unwanted nation of their existence.

Arcadian Empire: Although Provenance does no direct trade with the Arcadian empire, they still require raw materials (mainly carbon) so they trade through the Jovians. The Metheans do not trust their technology with traders.

The Martian Hegemony: The Martian Hegemony was one of the later nations to be contacted. The Metheans appreciate the Martian Hegemonies ship presence for preventing earth from attacking and have traded them a large amount of advanced carbon materials that are very useful in space ships, although they have not given them the recipe.

The Hydra Central Command: Very distrustful, partly because the first nation Provenance had contact with distrusts them. However, Metheus recognizes them as useful for protection from earth. The Metheans value their relationship with the Jovians to much and distrust the HCC to much to have any real trade with them.

Relation with Earth (Not applicable if Earth): Sort of stole a lot of tech that they weren't going to use anyway but sort of funded to begin with, however their small size, the fact that they haven't found Provenance yet, and the fact that Metheus only started with about 10k people, means that they're currently seen as much less of a threat than pretty much everyone else. The inhabitants of Provenance hate earth and are really paranoid towards it. At first contact with other nations was slow progress because they thought that earth might have a bounty or something.

Nation Name: The Serene Republic of Titania
Planets/moons/stations controlled: Titania, Oberon, Umbriel, Ariel
Religion (if applicable): While Titania has no official Religion, the majority of it's inhabitants adhere to Denkenism, an odd religion based on being at peace with oneself and thinking your actions through. Due to a history of bad decisions, the average Titanian hates being rash.
Tech Specialty (If applicable): Titania, without a doubt, is the place to go when you ae injured or sick. Titania has more and produces more Doctors then any other Nation in the system, due to a large amount of Medical Schools. Titania even has some life saving technologies not known anywhere else in the system.
Population: 3 Billion
Leader(s) (If Applicable): President Ernst Kammler
Planetary Guardian Friedrich Heissmeyer
Government system: Strict Authoritarian Military Rule under the guise of a Democratic Republic.
Colony type (Domed Cities, terraformed planet, etc): Titania is Terraformed and serves as the Capital. The rest of Domed Cities.
Relations with other Spacer Nations: The Jovian Triumvate is viewed as corrupt, but a necessary evil. There has never been a day when they have not had at least Cordial relations.
Relation with Earth (Not applicable if Earth): Without a doubt, Titania is the friendliest nation to Earth, with trade being regular although difficult due to the distance, and many tourists visiting each other's nations. There are even some Titanians who view the Terrans as noble and brave, and copy their manners and customs. Due to this, they are viewed with disgust by many Spacer Nations, with some even calling them outright traitors.
History: Nobody knows when the first colonists arrived. Those records have long since been destroyed, back during the Republican Revolution. And the people born before the war won't tell. They first arrived on Titania, as it was the most hospitable planet. Mostly Ethnic Germans, along with some Dutch, Danes, Romanians, and Hungarians, they started up several colonies. Despite having to deal with heat, lack of supplies, and distance from Earth, the colonists miraculously established a colony on Titania. Quickly spreading to other parts of the Planet, it became one of Earth's main colonies. Colonies were also established on Oberon and Umbriel, though these were much smaller.

Once the Spacer War started in 2123, Titania served as a battleground between Terran Loyalists and Titanian Separatists. Eventually, after a long and bloody war and a large bombing on Umbriel, totally destroying one of the colonies there, the Separatists won. Proudly proclaiming their independence, they crowned a Monarch. Emperor Wilhelm I, who had led the Rebellion, ruled as a an effective but strict monarch. He did not allow any sort of Constitution, and was an Absolute Monarch. Unsurprisingly, the people got tired of his strict reign pretty fast. 80 years ago, a mob of Protestors gathered in the Capital city, chanting angrily at him. He ordered his soldiers to fire and disperse them, but at that, they turned from Protestors to Revolutionaries. Overpowering his soldiers, Wilhelm himself only narrowly escaped from his Palace, along with the Royal Family. It is said that his Grandson, Fritz I, lives on the hills near the Capital, along with a band of Anti-Republican fighters. This has yet to be confirmed.

But what replaced Wilhelm was no better. A Republic quickly came into being, but it soon became corrupt and ineffective, and the Military had huge influence over it's decisions. Soon it came to be that the military practically was the Government. They drafted larger amounts of soldiers and equipped them with state-of-the-art weaponry, creating a strong force. Now the Serene Republic stands ready to fend off attack, and is eager to conquer surrounding nations, waiting for them to show weakness. The only hope for the people lies with Fritz's band of Monarchist fighters, waiting in the hills for an opportunity to overthrow the Military Republic.

It is essentially an all-knowing Computer in the Capital, Pyrmont, that has the capability of calculating huge math problems stumping even the experts in mere seconds, and keeping an eye on the citizenry to which it is linked. It is Titania's single greatest technological feat, for otherwise it is rather ordinary in Technology. It is the fruit of 30 years of effort by Engineers and Scientists. It has it's own A.I. Personality, styled after Otto Von Bismarck. While he does not make the decisions, he carries them out. As every legal citizen has a chip implanted that gives them a link to the Database, it can keep an eye on all Legal citizens. However, Children born without the informing of the Government, or illegal immigrants, do not count as legal citizens and, this, not as humans in Titania.

There are other Computers, but they are less advanced, and only a few have their own personalities. Unlike the Androids and Robots of the Triumvirate, the Computers of Titania cannot move. They are, however, far more intelligent, and are treated equally to Humans, if not better, by the Government. They keep the nation running, after all.

This Skill with Computers has led some citizens to request that more Computer Parts be connected in them. These Computer Parts can give them sharper eyesight, longer hair, a deeper voice, or other such insignificant things. However, Titania has not figured out yet how to make it do more significant things. Yet.

There are about 300,000,000 Computers in Titania capable of doing anything more then today's computer's. Only about 30 have distinct A.I. Personalities. Database, however, is so advanced he takes up an entire room, and is this not portable.

Thats a pretty cool concept actually. It will lead to some breakage of ranks with us as well, since we hate the use of Ai's and robots in war. If we can get this started up again I will be very happy and interested to see where it will go.

Really? That's a shame. I was planning on having the Government have a Joint-Research plan with you, where we could find out how to make actual Cyborgs with increased strength and speed, instead of just enhancing eyesight and growing out hair.

Really? That's a shame. I was planning on having the Government have a Joint-Research plan with you, where we could find out how to make actual Cyborgs with increased strength and speed, instead of just enhancing eyesight and growing out hair.

I would like to reserve Neptune, please, if it isn't too much to ask; I should be able to have an APP up within a couple hours.

Nation Name: (The) Empire of Neptune.

Moons controlled: Despina, Naiad, and Thalassa.

Religion: Christianity is both the most popular religion and the state religion.

Tech Specialty: Shipbuilding technology, with Neptunian shipyards being the most advanced and productive in the Solar System.

Population: Two billion, three hundred and twenty million, five hundred and thirty two thousand, three hundred and twenty one people exactly.

Leader: Tsar Dmitri Romanov I.

Government system: Absolute Monarchy.

Colony type: Domed cities.

Relations with other Spacer Nations: Varies, depending on the specific nation. For the most part, they maintain cordial relations with most other nations.

Relation with Earth: Hostile, with the Empire refusing to trade with or otherwise associate with Earth. Knowing full well that the Terran regime would try to re-annex Neptune if they had the means to do so, the Romanov monarchy strictly forbids any kind of relations with the Terrans, with Earth-sympathizers being publicly hanged.

History: Neptune was originally colonized by the Russians, being made into a Russian trading outpost at the far edge of the Solar System, wanting a place closer to Earth for merchants to be able to sell ore from the Asteroid fields, as well as wanting a trade hub for merchants farther away from Earth, the first colonists arriving in the early 2080s. A number of wealthy Russian investors poured large amounts of money into developing Neptune into a profitable trading colony, building numerous large trading posts across the Neptunian moons. Neptune quickly became a highly profitable colony, attracting merchant activity from all across the Solar System, prompting large quantities of people to immigrate to the Russian colony. As the colony grew, so did the profits, with the Russian investors reaping huge dividends from the Neptunian trade; after a few years of rapid growth, the first proper city was constructed on the moon of Naiad, taking the name New Moscow, which would serve as the seat of the colonial administration. New Moscow, like the many trading posts across Neptune, grew incredibly quickly, with the wealth of the colony prompting large quantities of migrants from Russia to emigrate to the colony.

Once the colony's population had grown to a decent amount, the investors of Neptune started building up an industry in the colony, using the migrants from Earth as a workforce. As would be fitting for a planet named after the God of the Sea, the colony developed a highly lucrative shipbuilding industry, making both civilian ships to trade and military ships for Earth. The quickly expanding industry on Neptune provided huge amounts of jobs, attracting even more immigrants from Earth, Neptune being one of the biggest economic and trade hubs in the Solar System. Within a decade after Neptune's original colonization, its population numbered in the millions. In the next few decades, that number would continue to skyrocket into the tens of millions and the hundreds of millions, making Neptune one of the fastest growing colonies. It became the very model of a prosperous, wealthy colony, being one of Earth's most valuable colonial holdings.

By 2120, the population had grown to an astonishing billion and a half people, with Neptune gaining a firm position as both a major trade power and a major shipbuilder. Of course, with prosperity comes desire for independence, with separatism growing amongst the Neptunian people, who didn't want to continue wasting their resources and money fueling Earth. When Mars declared independence, separatism amongst the Neptunian people grew like wildfire, with hundreds of millions of colonists openly calling for Neptunian independence. In mid 2127, the colonial government of Neptune was overthrown in a massive revolution, with a new government being established, declaring independence from Earth. The new government was led by the descendants of the House of Romanov, the former ruling family of Russia, who set up an absolute monarchy on Neptune, with a man by the name of Dmitri Romanov declaring himself the Tsar of Neptune.

Economic prosperity fueling their war of independence, Neptune was a big anti-Earth contributor, their shipbuilding industry, which was the largest shipbuilding industry in the Solar System, building countless warships with which to fight Earth. Needless to say, the Neptunians won several big victories against the forces of Earth, both around Neptune and in the Asteroid Belt. When the war for independence was finally won, and when the independence of Neptune was officially recognized, there was much celebration across Neptune, with the new Empire of Neptune being officially formed. With the war officially over, the Tsar began setting up a proper government, writing a constitution for the Empire and establishing a legal system. The new government was based largely on former Imperial Russia, with an aristocracy being established, the wealthy, feudal elite running the society, the strongest supporters of the Romanov monarchy being put into seats of feudal power, with the poor being largely deprived of rights.

Following the end of the war, the Empire of Neptune continues to be a highly prosperous trade nation, with one of the strongest economies in the Solar System, with Neptune remaining a vital hub for trade, merchants from all over trading in the Empire, continuing to attract numerous immigrants, the economic prosperity of the Empire being highly enticing. While he wasn't exactly known for equal rights or freedom, Dmitri Romanov was hailed a hero by the Neptunian people for helping win the war for independence, with the Romanov monarchy becoming incredibly popular amongst the Neptunians. The new Neptunian Empire would be a rather militaristic, autocratic absolute monarchy, run purely by the Tsar, with the aristocracy and the ultra-rich being highly favored.

Ooh, this will be interesting. I have a Corrupt Republic secretly controlled by the Military ruling most of Uranus. However, a band of Monarchist fighters hiding in the hills opposes them. It will be fun to see if you support them.

The new Neptunian Empire would be a rather militaristic, autocratic absolute monarchy, run purely by the Tsar, with the aristocracy and the ultra-rich being highly favored.

Titan terraformed? Uuuuhm, no, its already got a pretty thick atmosphere of Methane which would be hard to get rid of and its REALLY cold even with all that methane so no, not terraformed. You can have Titan though.

Really? Sure, then.
My favorite games are the Pokemon Games. Shoot me a TG if you want to talk about them.

I already have that btw.
