Elder Scrolls RP Development/Idea Thread

Hello, everyone! Lately, I've been devoting a lot of time to playing Elder Scrolls games. As a loyal follower of the franchise, I have played Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. I love each of them for different reasons, and I'm unable to decide which is my favorite (If I had to choose, I suppose it would be Morrowind because of its stunningly gorgeous storyline.).

As a result, I plan on creating an Elder Scrolls RP within the next week or so...but I am unsure as to which time period and/or setting to choose. I have an intricate plan for two roleplays:

1. Morrowind, 3E 427
The prison ship on which the Nerevarine was sent to Vvardenfell is mysteriously lost at sea. As a result, the Nerevarine Prophecy may not take place. Thus, players will be given freedom to alter the events of Dagoth Ur's second coming...and ultimately alter the events of Tamrielic history itself. The fate of the universe will rest on their shoulders, and ancient mysteries will come to life.

2. Skyrim, 4E 211
Ten years have passed since the Last Dragonborn slew Alduin, Death Lord of Nirn. The Dragonborn has since vanished. An independent Kingdom of Skyrim is under threat of an impending attack by the Aldmeri Dominion, and an age-old evil is about to make a vengeful return to the mortal plane.

I will need a co-OP, and I'm open to suggestions on how this RP should be managed and played out. I'm also opening a poll as to which setting will be chosen for the RP. The choice will not be made purely on the poll's numbers. It will just assist me in making the decision.

Skyrim is a great game, and you bring up a good point about cannon. Still, if we were to go with the choice of Morrowind, we could forge our own cannon (I don't particularly like what the developers did with ES lore after Oblivion).

Either of them could be awesome! That's why I'm torn.

I voted for Morrowind mostly because more about that era's nationstates (hehe, I made a funny.) stable states are known, but either way I'd love to be involved.

Alas, I have not yet played ESO. It's on my to do list, though!

Indeed, Morrowind's setting was utterly stunning. So was the storyline! But Skyrim has similar attributes. Very tough to compare.

But holy hell, Skyrim is getting a lot of votes!

Skyrim please. I want to join the thieves guild, or learn how to shout. It would be amazing, but with Morrowind it would be fun tranversing the landscape, hey would the RP have barriers. I mean theoretically players could go to Morrowind, since it and Skyrim share similar borders, or is that a no-no.

Also can I CO-OP I've done many RPs, and can't stop godmodders a mile away. Also I have a lot of experience as both a OP and CO-OP. Thus I request to be CO-OP.

I like that, it could truly allow for some great momments. Also I could make detailed post, but there is my application for CO-OP. I like this, as I plan on making a group to lead the charge against the Thalmor.

1) still ruled by imperials
2) racist stormcloak rebellion crushed
3) instead of dumb generic aldmeri dominion, desperate dark elves with no home from morrowind launch an invasion of mainland skyrim
4) age old evil= PLEASE no daedra
That concept is tired and old, we gotta come up w/ something new

Well, there could be a few problems with that. Firstly, the Empire is weak as piss since the Great War. In my opinion, with such a widespread pro-Stormcloak sentiment present across Skyrim in ES V, it only makes sense that Ulfric was able to eventually take the throne. The Empire's military is shaky without the unquestioned loyalty of the Nords, the Emperor has been assassinated by the Dark Brotherhood (leaving the Imperial government leaderless and unstable), and a lot of the people still hold a grudge against the Imperials for surrendering to the Thalmor so easily. Even if Ulfric was killed on the headsman's block in the beginning of the game, I believe the rebellion would've continued. It would be extremely difficult for the Empire to maintain its hold on the people of Skyrim after Ulfric came so close. He set an example for other warrior Nords to follow.

Also, the Dunmer are waaay too weak to launch any invasion whatsoever. Their western mainland is embroiled in political conflict, and their presence on Solstheim is still accompanied by a large population of Nords. In the Third Era, the Dark Elves could have fucked anyone up. Now, they can hardly keep themselves afloat.

And don't you worry. The age old evil is not of Daedric origin. Here's a hint as to what this enemy will be.

But the point is that they set aside their differences to start a new dunmer empire or something
