Several decades ago, the region that is known today as the Northern Coalition was shattered in an Earth shaking conflict. This, is the story of said conflict: the Great Northern War. This RP is still in the planning stages, and anyone from the Northern Coalition may take part. If you are in fact going to take part, please make a post detailing the state of your nation in 1914. This could count as some history leading up to the event, the founding of your nation, facts about your geography, etc. Unlike the last RP, white areas of the map may be conquered during war time, but only once a war has been started.

Population: 300 Million (With the additions of Kesarus and Argoss)
Military Size: 9,000,000, 3% of the population(the amount should be no more than 5% in peacetime)
Fleet: Majority of fleet stationed in the northern Argo region. Ship classes identical to those of the Russian fleet in 1914
Type of Economy: Socialist
Primary Exports: Weapons, military equipment, agriculture.
Primary Imports: Automobiles, Oil.
Land Routes: 3 (from a scale of 1-10, describe how well your nation's cities are connected in terms of roads)
Sea Routes: 7 (from a scale of 1-10, describe how well your nation's ports and that of others are connected by sea)
Harbor: The port located in northern Argo, Stockholm. (state the main port where your nation's wealth is traded for rare trade goods or precious ores, if you have one)
Government's Stance on Trade: Volgos promotes heavy taxes and public sector economics.
Brief Summary on Nation's History: Before the Great Collapse leading to the formation of Argoss and Kesarus, Volgos was perhaps one of the world's most economically and militarily powerful nations emerging from round the turn of the century. Industry is devoted to southern Volgos, while agriculture is centered in Northern Volgos. Eastern Volgos is referred to as the Holy Land. It is the land where the first Volgosians dawned and were given a vision of the Father, Volgos's chief deity at the time. According to ancient tradition, it is the Father's will that declares that all land is the Father's, and that all land and all of man shall become the Father's. Volgosians are devoutly religions, following their own version of an Abrahamic faith. While Volgos holds it's eastern region sacred, it also holds the Holy Land of the Middle East sacred just as well, and has been interested in taking the region for some time. Imperial Volgos is ruled by the current Czar, Czar Abram Markov.

[Derdond]

The Empire of Derdond at this time had been a middle sized nation, USA being it's main homeland with Alaska just being a new colony, the Empire at this time as it was before was avowedly atheist, and was spending most of its budget on it's arms manufacturing and economy. The traditional attire for a guard of the royal house was based on those of the knights of old. Also around this time the Empire was using its old fashioned royal attire, a suit of full-plate and a purple cape, always worn by the Emperor, currently being Derdond XIX.

[Velrayn]

The Empire of Velrayn is a very large, safe nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 180 million Velraynians are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked morass -- concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are on the agenda. A healthy private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Beef-Based Agriculture and Uranium Mining.

[Kariville]

As has been tradition for many centuries, the President (formerly Emperor/Empress until becoming a Liberation state) takes on the customary name of 'Kari', President Kari Kryis.

(Lazy copy and paste) The United States of Kariville is a small, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its burgeoning DoggieKitty population. The compassionate, intelligent population of 32 million Karivilleans hold their civil and political rights very dear. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Kariville's national animal is the DoggieKitty, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Kariville supports and encourages other countries that have the same values. Would be hard-pressed to give aid to a country that had a less than stellar human rights record.

Religion isn't exactly promoted, but people can do as they wish. The usual attire are flowing long or short togas, good for the Mainland's warm to hot weather!

The best cocoa in the world is grown on Kariville's mainland!

Kariville has a strong defense force, all volunteer, the nation has not been apart of any war for many years. Recruitment posters proclaim the army to be both fabulous and fashionable. XD

[Volgos]

The year is 1914, and Europe is in the process of recovering from a series of bloody civil wars and regime changes. Alliances have been formed and broken in record time, and the region is gripped by a need for resources to fuel an ongoing Industrial Revolution. When suddenly....

"OUTRAGE!" marks the headline of an obnoxiously spinning newspaper.

"The governor of the Wiesbach territory of Austria has been shot!"

"Sources from inside the WSF have confirmed that the gunman entered the region using a Kreigensfeld passport, and is also of Kriegensfeld nationality."

"Riots erupt in both Kriegensfeld and Wiesbach as both sides seek justice, for the Austrian governor, and for the treatment of the Kriegensfeld gunman."

"Nations around the world are bracing for conflict, and the Czar of Volgos has called an emergency session of congress to establish a footing a midst the strife."

[Wiesbach]

After the horrendous and tragic collapse of the Second Reich, the stand in government was not enough to deliver the people of poverty, disease and worst of all, shame. The rise of the New Third Reich quickly gained popularity amongst Central European and Eastern European inhabitants (most of which were remnants of the disheveled and unorganized Second Reich and pitiful excuse for a replacement).
Günther von Eckhart was both born (Jan. 4,1861) and raised in Eastern Kriegensfeld and was the son of a metal worker. Throughout his early life, he struggled through school but excelled once excepted to a promising secondary school in Western Kriegensfeld (with much work). It was here where he learned strength through perseverance. Upon graduation, he looked for more out of his life by joining the Kriegensfeld Armed Services. He had much trouble in the home so he managed to enlist at the age of 17. He was never really outgoing and was not exceptional, but performed to the best of his abilities. Months upon completing basic training, The Separatist War broke out in the late 1870s, plunging the Kriegensfeld Empire into war throwing him onto the front lines of the conflict.

The war for Günther ushered in a new feeling of pride and nationalism for the Kriegensfeld Empire, but when the ashes settled from the fires of war, he found himself wanting to return to his home. Upon return, he witnessed death in the streets, poverty beyond belief and no family remaining. Seeing the war-torn area that was once Eastern Krigensfeld, the strong sense of nationalism he carried with him inspired him to attempt to change the new temporary government of the newly dubbed region of Wiesbach. He attempted (with little success) to run for a seat in the Wiesbach Parliament. It was not until his release of his account of the Separatist War and how it affected him when he earned his time in the spotlight. This written expression for success finally shot him into the public eye and became a competition for representatives. He struggled early on in his 3rd run for a Parliamentary seat but gained a huge jump in the polls to hit almost 65% approval towards the end of the election due to the incumbent having a scandal come out about embezzlement and extortion. He would then go on to win the election due to this scandal by a landslide, putting him in office.

Struggling with the fact that the Wiesbach Parliament was unorganized and somewhat corrupt, he grew agitated with the nation's backwards political system and began collecting support and funds to make a bid for Chancellor. The people of Wiesbach shared his frustration and he would go on to win Chancellor in 1903. At his new position in power, he took the chance to lead major government reforms, shifting more power to the Chancellor's hands. He was benevolent with this power because he understood well that "absolute power corrupts absolutely" and attempted to keep the government as well balanced as he could while still keeping some central authority to reign in the government. People were somewhat displeased with some of the political changes but with the new booming economy, the people couldn't really complain because they were no longer burning wheelbarrows full of money to stay warm. The people were glad that they could finally afford the luxuries the rest of the world could enjoy, put food on their table, provide for their family and enjoy well paying jobs.

History from this point forward is determined by the will of Chancellor Eckhart and the peoples of Wiesbach are showing their full support because they are happy with the given situation of the nation.

[Velrayn]

The Incorporated States of Velrayn issue would like to issue a statement today. The Prime Minister Francis Belco would be standing in front of a rather unassuming podium. The nation flag of his nation behind him, stretched across the wall. A stuffed moose was to the left, flanked by a stuff grizzly bear. Those animals were widely known as his favorite. He stood there in front of a crowd of a few thousand. His people loved him! Or at least they appeared to love him. It was never too clear which.

"People of Velrayn! I come to you today with great news! I just just brokered a deal with the nation of Derdond to the south of us! They have agreed to join us under our banner. With the combined might of Velrayn and Derdond. With our combined resources, we can make not only our two nations better, but the world as a whole!"

A large contingent of troops would soon be entering the Derdond with the pretense that they are only there to help transition the nation over to a combined entity. They would be traveling via convoy to a central location before splitting up across the nation. The convoy would consist of about 10 troop transports and 5 tanks. Clearly not an invasion force or anything. Just something help set up outposts... for protection. The terms of the agreement will be laid out for everyone to read soon. They were not trying to hide anything and would like the world to know that Derdond isn't doing any of this under duress. This was a mutually beneficial arrangement.

[Wiesbach]

"The government of Wiesbach is currently investing the assassination of the governor of Austria. Nothing aside from what we already know has been recovered. I have sent a military governor to keep Austria and surrounding areas in line. We do not need the nation folding in on itself because of this. When we are tripped, we must not stay down. We must stand back up, brush off our garments and march onward. We WILL find who is responsible and who the assassin was working for. We WILL bring justice to those who have wronged us and we WILL survive and thrive.

In light of the recent tragedy, I have begun talks with representatives of Volgos to attempt to establish a transcontinental railway from Western Wiesbach to the Volgosian coast. We both believe it is in our best interest to build this railway to boost our economies, our national pride, and usher in a new era of trade between us. We will do what is necessary to get this awesome project done and within a timely manner. With the railway project underway, trade negotiations have also opened and we will hopefully both benefit from this agreement as a nation.

As I leave, I would like to remind Wiesbach that we must stay calm through the issues in the Austrian province and stay civil. We did not suffer through decades of destruction to revert back to barbarianism. I personally trust the nation that we will do the right thing and calmly get to the bottom of this and resolve this as one.

[Derdond]

The Empire of Derdond happily helps the troops to set up new outposts, putting them at strategic locations around the mainland to help incase of an invasion.

The Empire also sends a message to all of the other nations stating that, they had agreed to The Incorporated States of Velrayn's offer and that this will be a mutually beneficial agreement.

Another change in the Empire is that the royal regalia and all of the guards of the royal house's armor is that they have now put The Incorporated States of Velrayn's national flag right were their heart would be on their armor sending a nonverbal message that clearly states that they would defend The Incorporated States of Velrayn as if they would their own hearts.

[Volgos]

"The task of constructing a massive railway that spans continents is a daunting one; but not for Volgos. As of this moment, Volgosian engineers are hard at work on the construction of this monumental, super rail-way. At it's peak, it will be able to transport goods, heavy machinery, livestock, passengers, and just about anything that either Wiesbach or Volgos would need in a time of crisis, such as the one that we face today. The railroad will cover several thousand miles, and shall be the cornerstone of our industrial complex. For decades, Volgos has crawled along in the infrastructure race, but no more.

At this time, military advisers have been sent to Wiesbach in hopes of offering guidance towards stabilizing the region."
