Summary:
*Imploded economy gives rise to minority Christian groups with an aim to create a secular government and remove the monarch
Slovinka is in a state of civil unrest. The small island nation's crippled economy is causing a stir that has led to major riots in every city. Back in the royal palace Queen Valentina is faced with the biggest crisis in recent history. Worst of all citizens are pointing fingers at several possible causes. The majority are blaming foreign nationals for the nations problems. But a small group of Christians are blaming the entire structure of the country.
Arsonists at large
Abdija Abrahamovic, a local fruit vendor hasn't set his shop in 2 days as growing tensions sees an increasing number of protesters and rioters. "The last day I had my shop some thugs came and overturned some of my tables, and blaming me for hiring a foreigner to pick in my orchard", Mr. Abrahamovic told reporters. Meanwhile in the south of the country a group of vocal Christian Slovinkans calling themselves "The Shadow Brigade" offered a radical solution to the crisis. "We must take down this monarch, and abolish these insane Islamic laws. The entire nation has to work as one body but how can we? we're not all Muslims, the minority never has a say in anything...if they want Socialism to work in our nation then we must allow foreign investors in, and throw out the Queen, even if that means by killing her!". Muslims in these villages flee, fearing the anger can be aimed at them.
Protests increase
With a civil war around the corner, it's speculated that Christian fundamentalist nations, and those interested in the riches of the country are arming the minority groups. Last weekend a radical right wing Christian television station aired a special on the barbaric nature of the monarchs rule. The video clips were edited to fit the image of a totalitarian, oppressive regime. After the special was aired the royal palace sent out a warning that further lies by the channel will cause the local militias to shut it down. The Christian groups have been holding secret meetings and the source of the arms and other foreign aid is still being investigated. The problem is that because the nation has no internet, and no central communications agency, this is extremely difficult. A volunteer medical worker, who also happens to be a christian had this to say: "These radical Christians don't represent me and the other peace loving Christians that have lived alongside the Muslim majority for centuries. I don't deny there is an economic problem, there is, and it's that needs fixing immediately. Those groups have no interest in peace, they are after establishing a secular government, where God isn't the final authority. Our currency is worthless, but they want more than a strong currency, they want power".
