Hayabusan-Cydonian Border
40 Meters Inside Hayabusa's Sovereign Territory
Town of Visterham
7:27 PM West Hayabusan Standard

PFC Reed Canterson, a scout within the Hayabusan Royal Army, was talking with some townspeople on the Hayabusan side of the town. The other side, the Cydonian part, was completely and absolutely different. When the two separate entities attempted to host a football match together, the game got so intense that a horrible total of 3 legs were intentially broken, and words between the players and their parents were quite expressive, and the Hayabusan Royal Army had to escort the players and families out of the game, as did the Cydonian Army to their fellow countrymen. The worst part? It was only a 14-15 year old game. Hayabusans and Cydonians - they tended to hate each other, put simply. If you thought about it, to one side you had country A, and on the other side was country B - country A's polar opposite. It was almost impossible to avoid governmental and societal tensions between the two people. However, there were many peace activists united from both sides of the border, fighting relentlessly for peace between Hayabusa and Cydonia, getting in the way of Hayabusan BMPs, cutting off access to bridges, and swarming in front of buildings to convey their message. But most of the time, they were cleared out by a battalion of armoured personnel, as it was the only way they would leave and quit being a disturbance to the military and what it was supposed to do. The Hayabusan royal family and the Cydonian government simply could not find middle ground, no matter what efforts were taken and how extensively thought out the diplomatic plans were; they always found themselves in a "one side versus the other" type situation.

The young PFC Canterman had just bought a coffee from the local Starbucks, slinging his rifle for once and enjoying a nice, sweet coffee. It was a little odd to be drinking coffee late in the afternoon, but it had been kind of a relaxing routine for him for the last few months. Every day, he would come in to the shop in full uniform, and relax himself a bit over a warm cup of coffee. It wasn't like anything happened along the border - it was mainly just people looking at each other through binoculars and the occasional staredown between 2 adrenaline hunters on either side of the border. Besides, it was cold in Visterham, and one can only go so long being outside, holding a freezing plastic L85 and wearing the full combat uniform, which eventually did get cold after a while. You would often see Hayabusan soldiers wearing sweatshirts instead of their gear, but that was only the lazy ones who were under the loose command of Lieutenant Wilkins. He was walking out of the Starbucks and back out onto the street when he turned right, and saw something that made him drop his coffee. A Cydonian APC surrounded by at least 2 squads of infantry. People screamed and immediately began clearing the area, heading farther back into the town and deeper inside Hayabusa. Reed managed to blend in with the crowd, his smaller stature givng him an advantage. He looked back and he couldn't see much, but he could hear the APC moving and the infantry shouting through the screams of the crowd. Finally, he slipped into a old looking building, occupied by the rest of his battalion. The building was on the corner of a row of connected shops along the street, giving them a view of all four streets in the center that branched off in each direction, and also maintaining cover on their backs as well.

With his L85 unslung now, he practically smashed down the door to the large and open living space, which was serving as the command and coordination center for the battalion, and was filled with Hayabusan soldiers and technology in full gear, talking about random things to get themselves distracted from their true situation - they were stuck in a cold, restless, and intense border town and the only excitement they had in life at the moment was playing football in the parks and on their mobile devices. "There is a Cydonian APC and a whole lot of infantry right around the fucking corner. What the fuck do we do, sergeant?"

The sergeant dropped his tablet, pausing his FIFA game and running out to the main room of the house, followed by all of the rest of the battalion, who did the same and grabbed their weapons and ammunition. "Behind this crowd here, they are closing fast. They are fully armed and clearly ready for combat. I saw them aiming forward and checking windows. Quickly sir, what do we do!?"

"Alright, alright lad calm the fuck down, first off. Everyone take deep breaths, ok? We've trained for this for months upon months, don't break on me now. Now, protocol is we neutralize any threat that comes from that side of the border to this side - that is what we are going to have to do. I need a Carl Gustav up on roof, along with 2 other's to escort it and fire down upon them. 3, including me, will stay and guard the front entrance, they might be checking and clearing buildings as they progress. Canterson and 2 others - you three go down to the pillbox underground. Don't raise it until the obviously rapid footsteps above you cease. I want GPMG fire on those guys as fast as possible. I want them forces into retreat. The last 3 fall back, you're our last line if this shit goes awry. Who wants to be last line?"

Three men quickly ran out of the house and into the crowd, going along with the tide until they hit a small slit trench slightly farther back from their position, equipped with track-jammers and a now outdated CIS Ultimax, which was still used widely as the Hayabusan Royal Army was still going through the process of swapping out all of the machine guns for the newer and better MG3s.

3 other men grabbed the large rocket launcher and lumbered up the stairs, opening the door that lead to the rooftop of the connected buildings, their only cover being a small concrete slab that ran along the side of each building - so small that they had to lay down and crawl into position to remain hidden and in complete cover.

And while the sergeant and 2 others quickly got into position to defend the frontal entrances, Reed Canterman stormed into the basement and into a small elevator (or what seemed like one). He closed the door as footsteps from the overhead crowd causing the concrete roof to rain down some little pebbles on his helmet. Inside, there was a stand and a gun station, with an MG-3 pointing in an iutward direction with three 250-round belts of ammo, mounted upon a wooden stand which had more belts in it as well. There was a button on the side which would raise the small pillbox so that the ground would be slightly raised and a slit would appear in the middle of the road, and from that slit would come the menacing sound and destruction of the MG-3 general purpose machine gun that resided in the little box. He took a deep breath, and prayed as the rumbling footsteps ahead stopped, and the sound of the APC neared. He pressed the button on the side, and very quickly, the box lurched up from underground, the slit appearing in front of the approaching Cydonian units. He had gotten it up just in time so that he could see the body frames of the Cydonians as they approached, not just their legs, which is what he had feared.

"FIRE THE GUSTAV, NOW! EVERYONE ON THE ROOF AND IN THE PILLBOX, OPEN FIRE!"

An AT round came crashing down from above onto the APC, a plume of smoke being sent in all directions as the round impacted its target. Canterson opened fire in bursts with his MG-3, methodically cutting down the Cydonian soldiers accurately and precisely, trying to put at least 3 bullets in each of them as he aimed and fired at his specific targets. From above, the constant pops of single bullets from L85A2 standard assault rifles rained down upon the infantry.

(OOC: Cyd, you RP your units from this point on. You will be the aggressor on this one, I'll be the aggressor against Colum - just to balance it out. I didn't want to be the aggressor on both. If you are not ok with this, just hit me with a TG and I'll gladly redo this portion of the post :])

Hayabusan-Columite Border
Crossing From Hayabusa to Columbion
Town of Wellmoore
7:57 Hayabusan Standard

A Challenger II MBT, followed by 2 BMP-3 APCs sped down a large road slightly inside the Hayabusan border. The 2 BMP-3s suddenly sped ahead of the Challenger and simply opened fire on a Columite sandbag position that lay in front of them, stopped, and released 12 Hayabusan soldiers each, who rushed quickly into cover and began methodically advancing across the border and into Columbion's sovereign territory. Almost immediately, the Columites began deploying smokescreens on the vehicles and opening fire with assault rifles and machine guns upon the general positions of the Hayabusan soldiers as they traveled from piece of cover to piece of cover as they advanced.

"Guardian 1-1, do you have a visual on any enemy activity? Myself and Guardian 1-3 are watching the ahead to cover our ground guys, but we cant see shit now. We do not have FLIR. What do you suppose we do here?"

"Guardian 1-2 and 1-3, pull back and move along the either side. There should be streets there. I want you to try to punch a hole in the flanks so we can move some more ground guys up there. I'm sick of these Columite bastards taunting us and throwing shit across the border. Give them hell, don't stop until we have complete control of this town. We'll cover these guys as they advance. We've got FLIR."

"Acknowledged, moving around to the flanks now."

The two BMPs moved back as the Challenger II's spotter activated the FLIR capabilites within the tank.

"I've got at least 4 in the buildings straight ahead. There is a machine gunner sitting in a car covered by the smoke as well... and there's a whole lot on the rooftops. Suggestions?"

The commander spoke up.

"Fire the coaxial .50 on the rooftops, keep those fuckers pinned down. They might have anti tank weapons as well, so make sure you keep them the fuck down. Not only do they pose a risk to the guys in front of us, they pose a risk to us. Get some L30 rounds on the building straight ahead. There's four visible but they are probably swarming deeper inside it. That gunner you were talking about just got shot by one of our guys... thats taken care of."

"L30 is loaded and ready to fire. I've got two more rounds on deck. Coaxial is primed. Someone else will have to man the coaxial while myself and Bill operate the L30."

"I've got it," said the Commander as he crouched across the tank and used the aiming lens to fire at the rooftops, a loud rumble echoing through the tank as he let off round after round from the barrel of the heavy machine gun.

"Main gun is aimed at the frontal building, fire when ready," said the spotter.

"Main round out in 3...2..."

The tank lurched backwards as the powerful and heavy 120mm L30 A1 main gun pumped a round into the building that lay in front of the tank and had a critical view of the street in front of it, which the Hayabusan soldiers were using to advance slowly. If that wasn't suppressed, the attack would be thwarted, or it would be successful but with heavy casualties. The coaxial gun continued to fire at the above infantry as the L30 operators reloaded and prepared to fire another round.

Wellermoore should not have even been classified as a town at this point. There was less than 100 actual civilians living there, but other than that it was just a shanty town along the border with old infrastructure and swarming with both Hayabusan and Columite soldiers. There were no active shops, only closed down and destroyed ones that were now used as housing for the Hayabusan troops there. The advantage that it did have was lots of high ground opportunities. There were 5-7 floor apartment buildings everywhere, and there werrt also wide roads to allow for the passing of vehicles, even big ones like ye olde Challenger II. It was the ideal urban warfare zone - a soldier's nightmare. Anyone could be killed at any time considering all of the positions that could be taken up and used to inflict damage upon the enemy. If the Hayabusan Royal Army got complete control over Wellermoore, they would allow for mining operations to commence in the region. Wellermoore lay on a pocket of diamonds, and is claimed by both Hayabusa and Columbion - a battle for the riches of Wellermoore was destined to happen sooner or later. It was rumoured that there were enough diamonds there to equate to 25,000,000 NSD, which could be used for anything to either country's benefit.

(OOC: Colum, you RP your defense to this. Again, if you have any problems with my attack, please TG me and I'll happily edit it.)

"And then I said to the TUM ambassador, WATCH OUT, YOU MIGHT GET HIT IN THE BUM OF YOU VENTURE ANY FURTHER! She proceeded to get closer to our archive room, and I kicked a football at his bum!" Everyone near the man burst out laughing as a Lord Ambassador told the story about his encounter with one of TUM's female ambassadors that went all the way from her country to the GK to get kicked in the bum. There was a little ball going on in the main, open room of the first floor in the Palace of Edenguard, a slight distraction for all of Hayabusa's nobility to join together, feast, and enjoy themselves instead of competing for more wealth ad they usually do. Except for the King and the Queen. Although they were actually enjoying themselves, dancing and talking with Lord Francis about the recent construction of a stadium for the new Edenguard FC. But the attack on Columbion was present in their minds, and they were in for a surprise, knowing that Cydonia had recently sent units inside Hayabusa.

"It did not end so well. Diplomacy between our two nations ceased for a week, and I was forced to apologise afterwards."

"Lord Cail, while are you always acting like such a delinquent?" Someone piped up through tears of laughter and drunk hysteria after hearing what he had to say. A good lot of them were slightly tipsy at this point.

"Why... I'm only 57!" More drunken laughter from everyone around him.

"Funny guy, Lord Cail," the King said as he sat down on his throne next to the Queen. "I've just got word from one of my messengers here. The attack to control Wellermoore is proceeding, and satellite view shows it going pretty well. According to General Bob Spice, we're punching through thr middle with tanks and infantry and coming around the sides with BMPs. This should go swiftly."

"What a lovely night," the Queen said as she smiled. "Any other good news I should be informed of?"

"Ehh... it's news. There is a firefight going on in Visterham right now between our and Cydonia's units."

"What in he- Cydonia!?"

"Yes... we dont yet know if they made a mistake or if they purposefully ventured across the border in an act of aggression. Either way, we may or may not have just entered a state of war with the Cydonian Union."

"Contact our Currentean allies. Bratislav, Carloso, Zernovyl, Drusselbaden, they should all at least know whats going on. We might be able to pry out some support from them as well. Also, we need to keep this off the charts for now. HBC can't know."

"You spoke exactly what I was thinking. I'll send an encrypted email from my Android right here so itddoesn't look concerning to the other nobles. I wouldn't want to ruin their night for them."

The King pulled out his Android from his pocket and began texting away.

Hello, respective leaders. Most of you know about the attacks on Wellermoore, the border town between us and Columbion, that we have been planning for a while so we can claim the diamonds and use them to our and your benefit. The first stages of that attack are commencing now, and are reportedly going smoothly. However, that is not my main concern. My main concern (and the reason why I am sending this to you) is a Cydonian aggressive move in the border town of Visterham. There is a firefight going on between Hayabusan and Cydonian soldiers right now, and it is reported that the Cydonian units ventured across the border and into Hayabusa. Is this a mistake or the start of a massibe conflict? We are also concerned with what Columbion might do in retaliation to our attacks at Wellermoore. I formally request economic and military support from all of your nations. Together as an alliance, we already know that we can destroy any opposition, and achieve anything that we set our minds to. The most critical point here lands on the nation of Bratislav. Bratislav has a border with Cydonia. It would be greatly to our benefit if you utilized that and opened up a second front if worst comes to worst and these firefights evolve into a full scale war. As for the rest, I request that you send what you can to give us some support right now, as the situation as it stands is highly unstable. Esteemed allies, I thank you greatly for taking the time to read this message.

I will mobilize my Armed Forces to send around 50,000 Ground Troops to the border with Cydonia, in order to put pressure on the Cydonians if they continue with such aggression. My Government has a long history with Cydonia, and we possibly may be able to use our diplomatic channels to bring a peaceful end to this standoff. If not, we are prepared to render all possible military assistance as an IFC ally to defend your sovereignty and put an end to such hostility.

Mr. Ramirez II,
Such unwarranted aggression by the Cydonian government is inexplicable and will be met with the toughest of responses. With your government's permission, we wish to deploy several squadrons of B-1 Lancer strategic bombers to patrol the border. As a further step towards showing our support for your government, we are readying a C-17 Globemaster III tactical airlifter to fly over Hayabusa and drop eighty paratroopers of the 17th Guards Airborne Division to aid in the Battle for Visterham.

Town of Visterham, Eastern Cydonia

A group of 24 Border Guards were preparing to make a scouting mission into the town of West Visterham, the half of the town controlled by Cydonia. They were geared up more than usual with 6 magazines of ammo compared to the 3 that they usually carried and had a BTR-60 with them. They were going to simply move near the city's middle border and make a show of force to the Hayabusan Army. Unfortunately they stepped to far over the border unknowingly and came under immediate and heavy fire from the Hayabusans. A Rocket came hurling toward the BTR and blowing it up instantly.

"We're being attacked return fire now.", The leader of the troops yelled as MG and heavy rifle fire came upon them from various Hayabusan positions.

All the crew in the BTR were immediately killed and 5 more troops were also shot while in the open. The rest returned fire with their rifles and hunkered behind the burning BTR for cover. They sprayed toward the buildings where the fire was coming from and after about 10 minutes of shooting and 7 injured they retreated quickly across to the Cydonian side to report what happened. They gave the report that they came under attack from the Hayabusans and that they shot first.

Cydonian Border Guard comes under fire from Hayabusan Army, Bratislav Mobilizes Army

27/11/2014, Belgrade, Democratic Union of Cydonia

Today the Defense Ministry gave word that yesterday, a group of Border Guard troops came under immediate fire from Hayabusan Army troops after they stepped over the border on accident. Over 8 troops are reported Killed and 7 severely wounded in the tragic accident. The group of Border Guards did return fire but it is unsure of the amount of dead on the Hayabusan side. This is the second time this year a group of Cydonian Border Guards were targeted and fired upon. A few months ago a similar situation happened when Paldavian opposition troops had killed two Cydonian Border Guards. In response increased patrols by the Eastern Frontier Border Guards along the border with Hayabusa is occurring.

The Premier has also spoke to the press today in response to Bratislav's apparent move to send large amounts of troops to the Border. He announced that as a precaution troops from the Northern Military District would be Mobilized and a portion of the troops would be sent to the Border with Bratislav to reinforce the Border Guards there. The Northern Military District has under it's command over 300,000 total troops and numerous vehicles and planes. 75,000 troops from various Motor Rifle and Airborne Divisions are said to be sent to the border. The Premier has also asked the Bratislavian President to immediately cease this act of agression and demobilize the troops along the border in order to deescalate the current situation. More to be updated as information comes.

Hello,
Thank you for your support and understandment of our situation currently. It would be a great deal of help if your troops could be sent to the north border with Bratislav and the Far east border with Hayabusa. Your troops will come as a surprise and they will understand that it would not be in their best interests in attacking or provoking my country further. Your troops will be most helpful in reinforcing my troops these possible conflict zones.

Hayabusan-Cydonian Border
A Few Meters Inside Hayabusa's Sovereign Territory
Town of Visterham
7:27 PM West Hayabusan Standard

"Cease fire! CEASE FIRE! They're leaving..." the sergeant shouted. The crackling and popping sound coming from the burning BTR reverberated through the street, a sad and omimous sound indeed. 8 dead bodies lay next to the scene, empty, cold, and absolutely lifeless. 3, who were severely wounded and unable to be rescued, bled out on the street. A Hayabusan Royal Marine who had just walked in to see what had happened kicked the dead body of a Cydonian soldier so that he was facing up. The Marine crouched down, and inspected the body.

"Guys, this wasn't a mistake," he shouted to the group of soldiers up on the rooftops.

"Why? What do you mean?" said the AT guy who had fired the round that neutralized the rather large BTR. He was looking down at the Marine who continued to examine the body for something.

"Watch!"

6 fully loaded magazines came flying on to the roof, and the soldiers standing on it scrambled to pick them up.

"So what?" said one of the men on the roof.

"When we're looking at them with our binoculars, they only carry three mags. When they are close to the border line, they carry three mags and three mags only. And they NEVER bring BTRs that close to the line, nevertheless over it. Look at their bodies, they are all carrying 6 mags. These guys were ready for war."

The sergeant came out of the front door, and walked around the scene to confirm what the Marine was saying. He didn't look necessarily happy, in fact, upon hearing the news, he became extremely stressed, as this could only mean that something VERY big is going to happen. "Then we fucking retaliate. These guys killed Canterson and Kas, and also managed to wound 3 innocents who straggled in the fleeing crowd. These fucking guys... why did they have to cross!?"

The Royal Marine stood back up. "I don't know, sir. I'll radio for reinforcements. Obviously we're going on the offensive, what do we need?"

"Get us a Challenger II and an MI-28. Let's show them what the price is for attacking the Great Kingdom of Hayabusa and Artalia."

10 minutes later
Crossing the Cydo-Hayabusan Border

A Challenger II MBT, along with three 4 man squads of infantry, moved forward at a fast pace, and stopped, quite literally right on the border line. You could clearly see Cydonian soldiers on the other aide scrambling into their defensive positions, shouting commands and remarks in their native language. The Hayabusan infantry took high ground on the third floor of an abandoned apartment complex, and looked at the Cydonians from where were. The Challenger II remained right on the road, ominously keeping its main gun pointed straight across the border and at the Cydonian troops.

"Where's our MI-28?" asked the Challenger II commander over the intercom. "We need it to weaken the frontal defense. And why are you guys all in the building? 4 of you stay there to provide cover, the other 8, get your arses down here and support the advancement."

"Ok," replied the Hayabusan infantry commander, "a few of us are coming down now. Spire 2-1, where are you? The Cydonians are gonna start firing at us if we stay here any longer."

"We're seconds out from your position," the MI-28 pilot replied, "find some cover. This isn't going to be pretty."

8 Royal Marines ran out from the building as instructed, and hunkered down tightly behind the Challenger II. Some of them began fiddling with their ammunition and their weapon, making sure everything was primed and ready, and wouldn't jam on them in the heat of battle. As soon as the Cydonians saw the men taking cover, shots rang out from their positions, pelting the MBT and the apartment complex, as they knew what was happening.

The distinct sound of helicopter blades echoed through the air, rapidly getting closer to the scene of the fight. The turret gunner, who operated the FN MAG GPMG in what was called the commander's cupola, did his best to shoot off a few bursts, but the amount of fire coming down on them was so immense that he was forced to take cover behind the massive shield for a good majority of the time. The tank's coaxial .50 returned fire as well, spraying randomly on the streets, into buildings, whatever could house a human was being hit with at least a few bullets.

"Spire 2-1 engaging now..."

The black coloured Hayabusan MI-28 came into clear view now. Although the Russian helicopter was rather old and was in the process of replacement by Hayabusa's original design (the Swordfish), it was still one of the most reliable and feared attack helicopters around, just because of its sheer firepower and what kind of repulsing damage that it had done in the past and still could do today. The only modifications made to the MI-28 in Hayabusa were it's paint design and the adaptation for regular Hayabusan missiles and cannons, the armaments that were mainly used on Apache helicopters. The MI-28 was faster than the Apache, but didn't have as thick armor - but when the Hayabusan Royal Air Force adopted it, they were looking for speed. Fast and efficient strikes is what the Hayabusan Armed Forces are collectively known for, and the modified MI-28 is an exaggeration of just that.

The MI-28 flew with extreme speed over their location and let loose 4 missiles and multiple bursts of cannon fire on its first run, engulfing the scene in smoke and ash from the crumbled walls and streets. After that, the 8 ground men distributed and ran forward into the blaze, Cydonian rounds still popping all around them. 1 had already fallen to the ground after being shot in the lower leg, and crawled for cover to wait for medical help. The Challenger II's main L30 boomed as it fired twice in the general location of the Cydonian positions, and proceeded to speed forward behind the infantry.

"Spire 2-1, turn back and standby until told otherwise...and guys... dont die," said the tank commander.

I, along with the rest of my nation, greatly thank you for your clear show of support to our cause and to stop the Cydonians from further aggressions. The Royal Army is undertaking a retaliation attack as I type this, simply to show that we will not take any of their aggressiveness lightly and that the GK is strong enough to stand up against them. All I ask is that you keep up the pressure on the northern border, have your men ready to jump at any moment. We mignt be in for more than what we bargained for.

By all means, feel free to deploy any soldier, tank, aircraft, anything you feel necessary into the Great Kingdom for use at our border witb Cydonia. It is no secret that we will need all of the support we can get if this conflct evolves to more than a few skirmishes and a possible war. Note that we are already launching a retaliatory attack, as we will not sit there like a lump and take aggression like the shy kid being bullied. Your great display of support will not be forgotten in this unstable time of battle.

The bodies of the neutralized Cydonians from the initial attack were examined, and were found to be carrying 6 fully loaded magazines for their assault rifles rather than the 3 that they usually carry when they are around the border region. Multiple marines can confirm that the enemy soldiers were wearing 6 mags, and spotters all along the border can confirm the normal loadout for Cydonians on the other side of the border. It is also no secret that the Cydonian Army brought a BTR with them, which is completely against the protocol and procedure for peacekeeping on the border. APCs and tanks are not allowed within 150m of the actual border line, and they brought in a fully armed and functional BTR-60 40 meters across our border. It is quite clear that they were coming in for a fight. Despite all of this, we appreciate your efforts to keep the peace in this tough situation. Your overall concern for human life will not be forgotten.

The eternal state, conquered by no enemy

FROM: Matthew Reed, Secretary of State of the Republic of West Aurelia
TO: Richard Ramirez II, King of the Great Kingdom of Hayabusa and Artalia

Dear Mr. Ramirez,

While we cannot confirm the report of Cydonian soldiers carrying six magazines without evidence, it has been confirmed by various sources that a Cydonian BTR-60 indeed breached the sovereign territory of Hayabusa alongside Cydonian soldiers. This is a serious breach of protocol and raises questions on the Cydonians' intentions.

West Aurelia maintains and will continue to maintain a neutral stance until full evidence has been presented. We will continue our own investigation into the matter and hope for a peaceful resolution to the situation.

Sincerely,
Matthew Reed

King Richard,

It appalls me to see your sovereignty trampled upon. We are prepared to send 15,000 soldiers across the border and and squadrons of fighter jets to help in the defense of your nation. You will also have access to Sde Dovian satellite imagery. When our troops arrive at your border, our forces will be flying the Sde Dovian flag. Please inform your border guards to open up to our forces. May your nation stand strong and God bless,

PFC Ramon de Jesus was reading a book. He'd just started reading The Hunger Games then after he saw the movie on leave. Then, his platoon commander came into their barracks. The platoon leader, Lt. Yuri Gromyko was an experienced speaker. 'Listen up guys, as you may have been briefed this morning, you may be deployed to New Hayabusa. Well, we're going there in a few hours. Briefing at 2300, wheels up at oh-zero-hundred.' Replies of 'Sir, yes sir!' could be heard. These men were part of the 28th Battalion, 8th Brigade, Sde Dov's rapid response force.

PFC de Jesus shoved the books into his pack and grabbed some of his possessions. He then proceeded to the armory and signed off for his M4 assault rifle, three magazines, an M9 pistol with three magazines also, and four smoke and frag grenades. Then, he decided to go to the mess hall to grab something to eat. Now, he just pondered on the way to the mess hall, how it's going to be like. What will happen to him? What about his future?

Retask one of the satellites to these coordinates. We need photos.' said the supervisor as he handed him a sheet. With a few keystrokes, the satellite was already moving to the coordinates. All they needed to do was wait.

TO: Zivko Brankovic, Premier of the Democratic Union of Cydonia
FROM: President Robert Nikolev

As tensions mount near our border, I write this diplomatic letter as an opportunity to diffuse our tensions and bring about a peaceful end to this standoff. Our nations have a long history together, and the threat of a globally, destructive war has kept our states from all-out war in the past. I believe we can use the same logic to avoid such a war this time. Our cooperation in the Paldavian Crisis was a testament to the fact that our two states can work together. A multi-sided war would be disastrous for our two countries, but given our commitments to our allies in the IFC, we cannot simply ignore such incidents. What I propose is a trilateral meeting between your Government, mine, and that of Hayabusa to take place in a neutral location. What the intention will be is to bring about a permanent solution to our border issues through buffer zones or possibly even peacekeepers. This offer stands, but I will continue to send troops to protect our border, but we will not transgress into your territory, if we are not attacked.

We will make sure that Cydonia does not take any rash actions and have upped our military presence at our Southern Border. I have proposed a trilateral meeting to the Premier of Cydonia as a last resort to bring peace to our border regions. If not, my Government is determined to both protect our borders and our fellow allies.

BRATISLAVIAN-CYDONIAN TENSIONS RISE AS TROOPS AMASS NEAR SOUTHERN BORDER

Image
Bratislavian Troops in a recent training exercise near the Cydonian Border

Bratislavian-Cydonian relations have cooled as tensions have risen near the Southern Border, where around 50,000 Bratislavian Troops have been deployed, along with anti-aircraft equipment and other such hardware. The Defense Ministry assured the public that Bratislav is in no way preparing for a invasion or full out war with Cydonia, rather, the reinforcements are done as a precautionary measure given the recent border clashes between IFC Ally Hayabusa and Cydonia.

President Robert Nikolev blamed Cydonia for the tensions at its border with Hayabusa and said that such destabilization by Cydonia is not new, and that Cydonian instigations have continuously harmed the region. This comes after an executive order by Nikolev to greatly reinforce Bratislav's Southern border. Ground and Border troops have been amassing near the border, but have been told to hold off any fire unless fired upon. Nikolev also stated that Bratislav's border with Cydonia for the time being has been fully sealed. This latest incident all but erases any chance of Bratislav-Cydonia reconciliation, which had been taking place ever since the Paldavian War. There are also unconfirmed reports that more S-300 systems have been positioned near the Southern Border in order to deter any enemy aircraft incursion.

Experts note that while Bratislav's Government is highly critical of Cydonia in public, secret negotiations and talks between the two states aimed to bring about reconciliation and increase economic cooperation. War hawks within the Bratislavian Government, however, have determinedly tried to stop such talks and processes from going further, and it's not certain what President Robert Nikolev's position has been, who recently appointed the former Chief of the General Staff and known war-hawk, Albert Gregorev, to the PM post.

Over the skies of Carloso and Hayabusa
The Boeing B-1 Lancer supersonic strategic bombers of the 3rd Bomb Squadron lined up on the asphalt runways of the Fort Martyr military complex, giving off a mighty roar as their engines flared into life. Forming a diagonal line, the seven aircraft took off in unison, skimming the runway before rising into the skies of Carloso. After aligning the yaw angle of the ascending planes with the horizon, the bombers pitched to the right, turning away from the Antón Mountains in the distance and towards the forests which marked the border between the Carlossian Federal Republic and the United Hayabusan Kingdom. After reaching a height of twelve kilometres; cruising altitude, the squad's formation morphed into a more triangular shape, beginning the two hour journey that would bring them to the other side of the country to deliver their payload of GBU-12 Paveway II laser guided bombs and GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb GPS guided bombs on top of Cydonian forces positioned in or near the Hayabusan city of Visterham. An EC-130H Compass Call airborne communications jamming craft and a Boeing E-3 Sentry airborne early warning and control plane from the Carlossian Air Force airbase in Arrolobos joined them, taking the central role in the formation. With the knowledge of the possibility that aircraft could attempt an intercept, the squad would release their small load of AGM-158 Joint Air to Surface Standoff Missiles directly at the enemy in such a scenario; but this seemed unlikely unless Cydonia wished to risk total war with Hayabusa.

They were here, the lights of Visterham poking out through the clouds. The planes descended by two kilometres, making sure to maintain the yaw angle they had kept throughout the flight. At the head of the triangle the commander of the squadron, Ox Leader, cocked his head towards the rear of the aircraft, positioning his mouth over the radio as he dialled in the code for contact with the Hayabusan Air Force.

"Hayabusan Air Force, this is Ox Leader of the 3rd Bomb Squadron Carlossian Air Force. Requesting permission to deliver the load. Please put all available military interceptor craft on high alert with five minute scramble if you haven't done so already. Over."

Meanwhile, the two specialized aircraft began their own combat operations, beginning the process of jamming (SEAD) the Cydonian battle network and searching for possible interceptors.

F-15 "Red 1-1", over the Nazati-Hayabusan border, 1006H, 29 November

The flight of four F-15Es cruised at 33,000 feet of Nazat, an independent state west of Sde Dov. This was the second leg of their journey, after making a stop in the city of Glukovo the previous night. After rendezvous with a KC-135, they proceeded to exit Sde Dovian airspace. These F-15s were loaded with full ammunition in their cannons, external fuel cells, two AIM-9P Sidewinders, and two AIM-120 AMRAAMs.

'Eh, Goose, see these skies today? Great day to do VFR, no?' said one of the pilots.
'True man, but this F-15 beats the hell out of a bloody Cessna.'

Border checkpoint at the Nazati-Hayabusan Border, 1630H, 29 November

The first loads of Sde Dovian troops crossed the highway leading to the Hayabusan border. There was a sign that said "God Bless You" in Arabic and Nazati and the flags of Nazat and Hayabusa. As soon as the first vehicle reached the border, the whole convoy stopped. The colonel in charge of the convoy stepped out of his BMP-2K command vehicle and went to the Hayabusan command post.

'Good afternoon. Colonel Julian Robertson, Sde Dovian Army Third Brigade. Requesting permission for my troops to enter your border.'
'At ease. Your troops are permitted to cross. God Bless your troops.'
'Thank you.' said the Colonel as he returned his to his command vehicle.

On the radio, he called. 'All Storm Elements, we're on the move.' As soon as the command was given, line after line of Bradleys, Pattons, T-90s, BMP-2s, Bradleys and other vehicles proceeded to cross the Hayabusan border. These soldiers were the first.

The Presidential Palace, Sde Dov, Sde Dov, 1645H, 29 November

The Supreme Leader was sitting on the couch watching Sde Dov 24, a twenty-four hour news channel. He was just pretty much analyzing what the Sde Dovian public knew. The Supreme Leader knew the inner workings on what was going on.

'As the situation intensifies in Hayabusa, it is unclear on what the Cydonians would do next. This morning, Defense Minister Yossi Ahmad announced the deployment of 15,000 troops to Hayabusa.'

Then an aide walked into the room.

'Sir, Fort Sde Dov called. Our troops have begun crossing.'
'Excellent. I'll let the Haybusans know. You can go now.'

The Supreme Leader grabbed his iPhone off the table beside him. His iPhone was encrypted by the Sde Dovian Central Intelligence Agency, and tested so that none of his personal messages would be compromised. In his contacts was the King of New Hayabusa and he proceeded to send an encrypted email.

Code: Select all
King Richard,

The first troops have begun crossing your border. Good luck and God bless your nation.

Miguel Lim,
The Supreme Leader of Sde Dov

P.S: Maybe we can have a working lunch in Sde Dov, maybe on Monday?

PM OF BRATISLAV, ALBERT GREGOREV, CALLS CYDONIA A CANCER TO THE REGION

Image
PM of Bratislav, Albert Gregorev

In a official statement by the Prime Minister, Albert Gregorev, the PM of Bratislav called Cydonia a tumor to the Atlas region and a headache to all Governments that have to deal with Cydonia's aggression. Gregorev was appointed by President Nikolev a few weeks ago, and is a staunch conservative and nationalist - Gregorev was the former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and possesses considerable influence among the military and also is known as the unofficial leader of the war-hawk faction of the ruling, Freedom Party.

Gregorev made the statement during a speech to Parliament, which was his first since being appointed PM. Gregorev said that the President has made the right choice in sending troops to the Cydonian border and said Bratislav should not be afraid to respond aggressively if Cydonia attacks our military allies or enters our territory. Gregorev also stated that "with God on our side, the secularized and castrated Government of Cydonia will be brought to their knees, in front of our allies, this tumor has continuously sickened us throughout our history, and Cydonia continues to occupy historic Bratislavian lands in the North, which I promise you we will liberate with the grace of God and the strength of our Armed Forces! How can we sleep sound at night when such a state continues to declare aggression against our neighbors and continues to defile our sacred lands of Southern Bratislav that remain under their occupation?"

The PM's statement is said to have been aimed to reinvigorate the base and the war-weary Bratislav public. Experts note that the strong statements by Gregorev may also harm closed-door negotiations between President Nikolev and the Cydonian Authorities. Experts view the strong statements by Gregorev has a move by the Military and War-Hawks of the Freedom Party to destroy any chance of reconciliation between Cydonia and Bratislav.

"President Nikolev has tried very hard to keep a delicate balance between the military/war-hawks and the more moderate center-right part of the Freedom Party. He is in a tough position and should be given respect for how he is been able to navigate between the two factions and stay afloat," said one Professor of Political Science in the University of Musrum.

The Prime Minister in Bratislavian Government does not possess any significant political powers and his position is within the Executive Branch. The PM represents the President's interests in the Parliament and International Sphere. Experts believe for this reason the fallout of the PM's statements should not be great, but will nonetheless have an impact on the ongoing situation taking place near the border regions of Cydonia.

Far Western Air Command Center, Tomislav, Democratic Union of Cydonia

The Far Western Air Command Center was in charge of keeping track of aircraft going into and out of Western Cydonian airspace. Any unknown aircraft would also be tracked and identified. Rows of computers and people keeping track of aircraft moving around the western half of Cydonia, mostly domestic flights and cargo aircraft but some international flights as well since Tomislav International Airport was nearby. Today one of the people noticed a triangle shape of dots moving along the border going near the Cydonian city of West Visterham. He motioned for his manager to come over.

"Sir, take a look at this. It looks like they're approaching Visterham from Hayabusa.", he pointed at the monitor showing a triangular flight of unidentified planes.

"Hmm...Don't know what that is and we don't have any flights coming in from Hayabusa especially to Visterham. I'll contact the PVO(Air Defense Force), maybe they can get some planes to check them out.

The manager walked over to his office and phoned the PVO's Western Defense Office. He let them know of an unauthorized and unidentified flight of planes moving into Visterham airspace. In response the PVO commander authorized 6 MiG-31s to take off and investigate the flight of planes. The PVO's basic orders were to intercept unknown aircraft flying over unauthorized airspace which West Visterham was.

A flight of 6 MiG-31's immediately took off from Tomislav Airbase to intercept the flight and redirect them as needed. They also had the authorization to shoot down aircraft if they continued to violate Cydonian airspace. The MiG-31 was a high speed interceptor designed to intercept fast moving strategic bombers like the B-52 and B-1. It was also one of the few if not the only aircraft able to catch up with a SR-71 Blackbird. The Flight of MiG's rapidly gained altitude and made their way to 16,000 meters in the air. They were all equipped with 6 R-37 Air to Air missiles which are designed to destroy AWACS aircraft and other fast moving aircraft. After traveling for nearly a half hour at a speed of Mach 2 they were over Visterham. The aircraft were reported last moving just over the Cydonian-Hayabusan border there and the flight of 6 turned right and headed for the border edge. The various blips appeared on their radars and the flight leader lead the flight of MiGs in the direction of the unidentified aircraft. As they aproached them the flight leader gave a warning to the flight in English to turn back.

"Unidentified flight, Do not cross the border and turn back immeadiately. This is your final and only warning. We will open fire."

"Dima 1-1, I'm indentifying those aircraft as military aircraft, likely bombers due to their size. We may have a situation here. over"
"Roger that. Dima 1-3. over."
The MiG-31s continued to trail them carefully while awaiting an answer from the aircraft.
Image

West Visterham checkpoint area, W. Visterham, Democratic Union of Cydonia

The sight of the Hayabusans threw the unprepared Border Guards into a frenzy. The warnings on loud speakers for them to go back and the insane amount of warning shots were not enough to deter them and they eventually sent in a Havoc to blow up a majority of the checkpoints' buildings. 4 Border Guards were killed and 10 were wounded leaving 36 left to defend themselves with little ammo. In return the Border Guards went for kill shots and went into an emergency wartime alert. They began to prepared for a battle while the battle was still happening. Troops were hastily sent to the arms lockers to retrieve heavy equipment like Grenades, PKM's, RPG-18's and more magazines and ammo for their rifles since they were starting to run out. Troops ran back from the lockers with bundles of RPGs, Ammo belts around themselves, and green Ammo boxes in each hand. The commander of the checkpoint called in to report the attack and request an Army unit be dispatched immediately. A platoon from the 3rd Honors Motor Rifle Division based nearby was dispatched to go and arrived within 30 minutes. They had with them 4 BMP-1s and 6 T-72B from the 211th Navinskii Tank Regiment. The Motor Rifle unit was much better armed and equipped than the Border Guards and had heavier weapons like more Dragunovs, PKMs, and RPG-22's. Igla's stored in the BMP-1 were there in case the Havoc came back again. The Motor Rifle troops quickly assumed positions behind the destroyed checkpoint with Border Guards and took cover behind the BMP-1s while they opened fire on the Hayabusan troops. The T-72Bs spread out and opened fire on the Hayabusan tanks. RPG-22s and RPG-18s were shot at the tanks tracks to immobilize it and PKMs suppressed enemy troops while marksmen picked off troops popping out of cover. If the Hayabusans wanted a fight then they would get a fight.

Thank you for allowing me to explain this tremendous accident that has happened recently. Yes, the protocol mandates that APC's are not to be within 150 meters. In order to get authorization to send any militarized vehicle into the zone, unless we come under attack, the request must be approved by either the General Staff or the Commander of that Border Guards District. That being said no one gave out the authorization nor was a request made, and because of this those who carried out the attack are being questioned by the FSB and an investigation is being conducted. The 6 magazines as opposed to the 3 that you also mention makes things even more strange as six magazines are apart of the "war time" Border Guard loadout and only carried when authorized. We will definately take this into consideration and pass this information onto the FSB. We wouldn't mind an international investigation to be conducted and would appreciate this. We also ask if the Bratislavian, Hayabusan, and Cydonian governments could meet in your country for a trilateral peace talk in order to diffuse this situation. Thank you for contacting me and I hope to keep in touch.
Sincerely,

Hello,
It is nice to hear from you again. I would like to have this meeting between our governments to diffuse this situation. I have asked the government of West Aurelia if they would like to host such a meeting due to their actions of trying to reach a peaceful agreement in this recent crisis. Regarding your security I can give you the assurance that we will not attack your country but we will continue an increased presence on all borders until this situation diffuses entirely. We want to keep this situation peaceful but aggressive and immature actions from Hayabusa prevent me from doing so. As their ally I ask you to request that they do not make another violent move that only further makes this situation worse.
Sincerely,

Executive Office of the President of the Republic of West Aurelia

The eternal state, conquered by no enemy

FROM: Stephen Hayes, President of the Republic of West Aurelia
TO: Zivko Brankovic, Premier of the Democratic Union of Cydonia | Richard Ramirez II, King of the Great Kingdom of Hayabusa and Artalia | Robert Nikolev, President of the Republic of Bratislav

Dear Mr. Brankovic, Mr. Ramirez, and Mr. Nikolev,

It has come to my attention that a venue is needed in a neutral country for talks regarding the current situation in Visterham. I would like to invite you all to the Presidential Palace, located in the capital of West Aurelia, Riverside, for the aforementioned talks. As a neutral party, West Aurelia seeks to act as a mediator in the talks and will ensure that all sides are able to have their say. Should you accept this invitation, more details will be provided.

Sincerely,
Stephen Hayes
President of the Republic of West Aurelia

F-15E "Juliet 1-1", over the Hayabusan-Cydonian border, 1236H, 30 November

'All Juliet aircraft, be advised of six high-performance MiGs, possibly Foxbats or Foxhounds, heading towards the Carlossian strike force. You are given all permission to engage as necessary, targets at eight-six miles, bearing two-seven-three from your current posistion at Mach 1.2.'

'Roger that, Skyhigh. Juliet out.' said Maj. Igor Kublenko. He then turned his F-15 to 273 degrees, with the other two F-15s trailing behind him.

'Okay guys, we'll take out two aircraft each. Arm your AMRAAMS and engage on my command. IFF on.'
'Roger that.'

Maj. Kublenko armed his AMRAAMs and switched on his AN/APG-70 radar. On his screen were six targets in a wedge formation. Then, his RWR lighted up. The MiG-25s were getting lockons on the the F-15s.

'Full afterburner and engage when in range!' screamed the Major.

They were well in range of the MiG-31s AA-13 missiles and vice versa to their AIM-120C5s. BEEP. The missiles fired and went to their targets. Maj. Kublenko and the others fired off AIM-120s at the MiG-25s, while trying to keep radar lock and evading missiles. 'GOVNO!' screamed the major. 'BREAK BREAK BREAK!' Two MiG-31s appeared to have exploded into fireballs, while one AIM-120 seemed to have missed. Chaff was dropped from the F-15s. They were now just twenty miles from the MiG-31s. Now, they were about to have an edge. MiG-31s weren't good at close range dogfights, but the F-15s were ready to fire their AIM-9P Sidewinders. If they got too close, there was still their M61 Vulcan cannons with a full load of ammo.

'Engage when possible. Do what ever you can to defend yourselves. God bless you all.' said Igor as he pulled his stick to line up with a Cydonian MiG-31's tail. He then armed his Sidewinders and listened for the distinctive tone of the seeker head. There it was, the lock on sound. Then he fired. 'FOX TWO!' Another "Fox Two" call was heard. 'I NEED HELP, MIG ON MY TAIL!' screamed one of the pilots with the missile warning being audible. 'TURN HARD! HE CAN'T TURN HARD!' screamed another pilot. The pilot did as he was told and he was already pulling 6Gs. Then the beeping stopped. It was a good day for the Sde Dovian Air Force.

I am open to hold such negotiations to diffuse these tensions. I ask that such negotiations be held behind closed doors and without much publicity, given the difficult political situation in my country regarding these talks. I accept the offer by the Republic of West Aurelia to hold immediate negotiations in his state. The increase presence of troops at our border is a move to secure our borders and ensure the public that all is being done to protect the homeland, but I believe our political maturity will prevent a further escalation from happening.

Regards,

President Robert Nikolev

OOC: I don't think it's OK to say that the MiGs "appeared to have exploded into fireballs," but it's really up to you and Cydonia. If he's fine with it, then it's all good.
