The world is shining dark and bright
The contrast blinding similarities slight
No haven no port no shelter in sight
The darkness glaring the light shine bright


A beacon I see with my own bare eyes
A truth among a sea of lies
A smiling face, a greeting hand
A life among the barren land

I walk on my way
the dark less empty
the light less bright
the wind more slight
and smoke less sooty

The only thing you should change is the lowercase I into an uppercase I. And maybe add a comma in between 'a smiling face' and 'a greeting hand'.
