Earthquake rattles Gazank

Seismologists from the University of Gazank City: a 4.7 earthquake shook the northern areas of the province around 11:38 AM this morning.

Citizens of northern Gazank, a Fourtese ‘autonomous state’, were awoken this Sunday morning “around noon” by a mildly-shaking ground. Quickly realizing it was an earthquake—something not uncommon for Gazankish people—they rushed out of their homes, workplaces, and the like to government-designated “earthquake centers” in the province.

“Emergency teams were quick to react.” says Ariane Schoettmer, Deputy Governor of Gazank. “We are greatly thankful for the teams' service in this time of emergency; and happy to say that no casualties resulting from the earthquake have been reported.”

Debora Kahler, a teacher at a local school in a small town a few miles away from Gazank City, the provincial capital, says that she “felt a fair deal of shaking” during the opening moments of the earthquake. The school put on the earthquake alarms, signaling students to get under their desks and wait for the earthquake to finish. “I was worried at first,” stated Patrick Riese, a student at the school. “Then I realized it was only a small quake, and my fear subsided.”

Axel Mas, an employee for Beznach, was working at his office on the 5th floor of a Beznach-owned office building in downtown Gazank City when the earthquake struck; “The building swayed, but not too much. It lasted about ten to twenty seconds before concluding.”

Seismologists from the University of Gazank City were quick to their work; they said in a report issued hastily, two hours subsequent to the earthquake: “A 4.7-magnitude earthquake shook the northern areas of the Gazank province at approximately 11:38 AM this morning; it seems to have originated from an oceanic fault-line a few miles north of the zone that was hit. Mainland District XIV was only slightly affected with larger waves than usual hitting its shores. Only minor damages to structures, including roads and sidewalks, has been sustained.”

Furthermore, the Seismologists go on to state that such fault-line could be “more hazardous in the future”, and calls upon the international community to observe and study it for preparation in case of an event where it does even more damage than “just a little shake.” The fault-line was not priorly studied to an extensive state, as all earthquakes preceding this one were not as large, and therefore the government and scientists “shrugged it off.”

First Minister Paul Bachmeier is reportedly planning to visit the province this evening to meet with its Governor, in an effort to improve earthquake preparedness.

Gazankish independence ‘hot topic’ in the autonomous state

The rise of popularity of Gazankish independence and associated movements in the state are bringing it ever-closer to sovereignty.

Following the earthquake in Gazank, a nationally-designated ‘autonomous state’ in the FDR, elections for the state's legislature have concluded with the Gazank National Alliance—a ‘non-ideological’ (other than Gazankish nationalism, of course) coalition of parties, organizations, and the like which advocate for increased Gazankish autonomy or complete independence—gaining a majority of near-two-thirds of the seats.

Polls now show that 64.2% of Gazanks support total independence from the FDR; with almost 20% supporting increased autonomy, and the others polled believe the ‘status quo is adequate.’ Since the annexation of Gazank in the early 1800s, the predominant ethnic group there (Gazanks) have advocated for sovereignty from the FDR, but with little success, until the mid-1900s, when then-First Minister Schröder punished anyone in the nation for publicly opposing the Ölafuran War; the majority of whom were Gazanks.

The Gazank National Alliance, after hearing of its victory, made a public statement, saying that, “We will move Heaven and Earth to ensure that a referendum on the topic of Gazankish sovereignty is made available to all Gazanks by mid- or even early-2015. It has, and forever will be, our mission to secure the liberties of the Gazankish people in their right to decide their future.”

But the Vierz Sozial Party (Fourtese Social Party)—the leading party in the national legislature and holds all executive positions in the government—has been reluctant toward the idea of an independent Gazank. However, First Minister Bachmeier, who's family has Gazankish ancestry, is in support of the idea, yet the party remains divided. Those who are in complete denial source the constitution's clause regarding the idea of sovereignty for a sub-national Fourtese entity, which states that, ‘If a constituent province has not the designation of autonomous state, nor the greater support wherein of independence by at least 55%, a popular referendum on proposed sovereignty shalt be deemed illegal.’

However, this is really the only reference they have, and it can be discarded extremely easily, considering that Gazank is an autonomous state with over 55% popular support for independence. Furthermore, Gazankish culture, language, religion, and overall values differ from that of the rest of the FDR. Its majority religion is the Insaeldic Reformed Church—adopted in 1933 when an Insaeldic missionary traveled there to proselytize its population—while the rest of the nation practices primarily Catholicism.

The largest opponent of Gazankish independence is the Vierz Unity Party, a right-wing party which strongly advocates against any proposition of sovereignty for Gazank, along with other provinces. Although they've seen a small rise in support over the past few decades, it's certainly not enough to stop Gazank from simply trying, much less for them to gain even a seat in the national legislature.

Gazankish independence is becoming a thing; and with more popular support leaning the GNA's way, and the constitution legally allowing a referendum to take place, this idea could be an actual thing in just a few years. Fourtese nationalist parties don't seem to pose much of a threat to the idea, and the national legislature, nor court, has made no formal attempt to stop Gazank's from choosing their future.

Starting Thursday last week, riots broke out in the northern provinces of Foueyae and Greniv, in support of independence of the Saladese Kingdom. Police have had massive issues keeping the unrest contained, especially in the city of Wahui, the former capital of the Saladese Kingdom, an unrecognized Kingdom that declared undependence from Insaeldor during the breakup of Cyllea and managed to maintain its independence from 1887 until 1953, when it was absorbed into Cyllea. Since then, unrest has breaken out periodically with the Saladese trying to illegally break off of Cyllea. As of now, an estimated 83 rioters, 4 riot guards and 9 citizens have died in the riots, with at least one report of gunshots.

Insaeldic-Saladese Hold Protest in Solidarity with Inbattled Cyllean Counterparts

Early this morning November 19th a group of about 350 people of Saladese origin have lines in front of the Konunglegurþingiðsal were the Council of Commons is suppose to meet for a series of votes later today in order to protest in solidarity with Saladese protest going on in the nation of Cyllea where the Saladese homeland is consitered to be located. This protesters have called on the Insaeldic government to use its power to help mediate the issue and have held signs saying "Our people our land" and others of the like with the most surprising of the signs saying "If you support Cyllea you support genocide". The issue of the Saladese and there will to be independent has been controversial for over 60 years with the Saladese Kingdom was a Insaeldic sponsored nation which existed until 1953 on the coattail a of the war in Ölafur which was also the end of the regression of the Insaeldic Imperial period and the fall of the Insaeldic imperial era with the fall of the Saladese Kingdom and the loss of Ölafur.

Currently the Insaeldic government has official financial ties to several Saladese political groups which aim for Saladese independence and other alleged ties to Saladese Paramilitaries and Insurgency Groups although these are only alleged ties with not existing or know paper trails leading to a conection. This has lead in the past to tension between Cyllea and Insaeldor which have already turbulent relations to start with regards to the Cyllean Genocide in the late 1800's and early 1900's which took place during the last years of Insaeldic colonial rule of Northern Cyllea and has been a point of contention for years even after peace talks during the 80's which leaded to lukewarm relations between the two nations.

The Council of Commons has refused to give an official response to the protest as well as the King not giving an official response to the issue but his Press Minister saying "we support people's rights to self-determination but we also feel that a nation has the inherent right to keep the peace within its nations. While we do not support the amount of casualties resulting from these protest and the clashes between the Protesters and Police. We firmly believe that there is a peaceful and diplomatic solution to this conflict without the need for violence on either side."

So far the Insaeldic Saladess Agency for People and Government Coperation (ISAPGC) has released an official reaction to the Press Ministers comments with "While we understand the governments unwillingness to take a position on this tricky political issue but we must inform the government that such issues like the extreme lopsided numbers regarding the number of arrested as compared to the dead is the result of Cyllean racial hostilities towards the Saladese people and such actions are typically ignored my the Nationalist Government. These sort of indiscriminate killings are not uncommon and we have to ask the government to take the facts into consideration and condemn the Cyllean government for its unlawful persecution of the Saladese People."

Many Sihk and Hindu temples which consist mostly of Saladese immigrants have helped stage protest and to start up grass roots political movements to support Saladese rights and to help condemn what they call "Cyllean human rights abuse" but with only a few going around calling for Saladese independence. These efforts in the past have seen only minimal support with polls showing only a small minority of people support Saladese indapendence and with a lot of Indaeldic people not really willing to get involved in Cyllea or really but into the issues of former colonies. Insaeldic however have been generally supportive Saladese political activism with polls showing almost 62% of Insaeldics see Saladese political activism as a good or importent however support of political activism and support for the causes they are active about are completly different.

These protest are expected to continue thought the duration of the the protest in Cyllean and possibly even longer as they look for the Government to move on the issue.

Social liberals, progressives, civil libertarians, and more importantly, homosexuals celebrated this Thursday when the Nationalversammlung (National Assembly) passed the most substantial expansion of Gay rights in the Vierz Demokratische Republik, including the recognition of same-sex marriages with the term marriage, and not ‘civil unions’, which was the pre-existing one used.

Spearheaded by the Vierz Sozial Party (Fourtese Social Party)—which holds a majority in the national legislature—the bill was proposed three years ago and underwent critical backlog and delay—it was brought back up by the Party leadership two months ago. Shortly thereafter, following widespread national debate on the subject, the bill was voted on by the Nationalversammlung; and passed by a vote of 73-56, with two abstentions.

The law, firstly, recognizes current and future same-sex marriages not under ‘civil unions’, but marriage. Secondly, private institutions are no longer allowed to prohibit homosexual persons from purchasing their services. And, finally, homosexual citizens are treated ‘equally under the law’ in relation with heterosexual persons, a legal provision which existed only at de facto status until now.

After the unification of the VDR in 1721, the nation maintained highly-conservative viewpoints, and refused to pass laws granting homosexuals equal rights; in fact, until 1915, homosexuality (Male and Female) was criminalized under the law. A civil unions statute, passed in 1967, made it so same-sex unions were recognized under the law as ‘civil unions’.

A time wherein homosexuals were treated extremely poorly, which was from 1936 to 1966, went down in Vierz history as well. The now-nonexistent Tugend Party, an ultraconservative right-wing nationalist party which committed some of the worst acts in history (Invasion of Ölafur, where Vierz soldiers were ordered to burn Insaeldics and Fourtese migrants alive; Gassing of 6,000 Cyllean rioters in a Vierz colony that once existed there; etc.), repealed the decriminalization of homosexuality law and severely punished those who were caught in homosexual acts. Homosexuality was re-legalized following said Party's fall in 1966; the Party totally collapsed in the late '70s.

The Konservative (Conservative) and Christlich Volks (Christian People's) Party—the former more conservative and the latter less conservative regarding same-sex marriage—spoke in great opposition to this law. However, the Vierz Sozial Party was able to achieve some support from the CVP's more liberal and progressive members, thus making the law passable, and conservatism less of a threat to same-sex marriage.

National Assembly Ratifies Extra NS$ 10 Billion to NESA Annual Budget

The National Emergency Service of Ardoki (NESA) has been granted an extra NS$ 10 billion to its annual budget, calculating to an annual budget of 35 billion NS dollars.
It is expected that the extra funds will go toward the expansion of the NESA emergency centres which have been constructed over the past decade to be used in case of a national state of emergency.

In a a parliamentary session of the National Assembly just yesterday. A bill proposing an increase of NS$ 10 billion to the NESA annual budget was pushed through. The bill which has increased NESA's annual budget to NS$ 35 billion, was fully supported by the Social Democratic Labour Party and was passed easily. However the the opposition, the Liberal Conservative Party, fully opposed the bill, questioning the need for NESA to have an increased budget. And expressing concern for the NESA camps which have been set-up all across the nation. The Greens (on the crossbench) supported the opposition in their questioning.

The National Emergency Service of Ardoki was set up in 1990, after a vicious snowstorm left much of Northern Ardoki without power and communications. NESA's job is make sure that in times of emergency and disaster, the state and nation are protected. They offer assistance to state emergency services and the public in snowstorms, bush fires, avalanches, freak storms, with assistance being provided after the events as well. They are also tasked with protecting Ardoki from diseases, and preventing pandemics.

NESA has over 500 Emergency Facilities, located around Ardoki. According to NESA, they are to be used when a state of emergency has been declared, and dangerous elements must be isolated from the general population. Minister Ihejirika gave the example of "those infected with Ebola, or those who are terrorists". However some elements of the Liberal Conservative Party are adamant that these camps are meant for when the Social Democratic Labour Party decides to exterminate all its opponents in a "communist-style purge". Minister Ihejirika denies theses claims as silly conspiracy theories.

Such conspiratorial views are part of a fringe minority of the right-wing. The Emergency Facilities are a necessity, they could be instrumental in protecting Ardoki from an all out collapse. Take a civil war as an example, there might be terrorists from the right-wing who wish to overthrow our Democratic Republic, and replace it with a conservative neoliberal autocracy. The supporters of these terrorists, and the terrorists themselves, would have to be detained in order to protect the state and its citizens. A similar thing could be said about a pandemic, the infected would have to be immediately quarantined for the safety of the general population.

Minister Ihejirika announced that the increased funding would go into better ways to combat domestic terrorism, global pandemics, and research into ways to control the domestic population in the event of a massive disaster which causes nationwide chaos. He said that "the NESA camps are not of hostile intent. They are essential to maintaining order in the event of a nationwide disaster." He also said that the only people who would be sent to those camps in a state of emergency where "terrorists, those convicted of treason or attempted treason, those suspected of those offences, enemy forces in Ardoki, and those with dangerous and contagious diseases (there are separate facilities for these people)."

Why Insaeldor is not a Post-Racial Society and Why Cyllea is a Backwater Society

A week after the initial outbreak of the Saladese Solidarity Protest which have taken up in almost every Saladese community within the nation and a peaceful protest which I took part in. The protest are about a multitude of issues which surround the Saladese community in Insaeldor but the most prominent being the Kingdoms inability to take a stance on the concurent protest and oppression of the Saladese People's. This is also concurrent with the issues of historic relations between the Insaeldics and Saladese as well and political marginalism.

As of today around 80 to 100 people have been indiacriminentlt killed by police forces in Cyllea as the saladese protest for further freedoms denied by the Cyllean government and the issue of greater autonomy for the Saladese people a people who are religiously, ethnicly, logistically, culturally, and socially different from the majority of Cyllean society and have been forcibly marginalized by the Cyllean government for over 60 years ever once the brutally overtook the Saladese Kingdom who's Royalty still reside in Insaeldor to this day. Not only have people been murdered by the police for simply wishing for freedom but have also been the subject of government sponsored kidnappings, extra-judicial executions, torture, as well as other human rights abuses that have gone ignored by the worlds governments.

In Insaeldor the Saladese makeup nearly 4% of the total population with the majority of them coming as refugees after the the Cylleans illegally invaded and occupied the Saladese Kingdom. Insaeldor was tasked with the Kingdims defense and shirked this duty in favor of its own people assuming the lives of its ethnic citizens were more valuable then the ones of the people whom they swore to protect as former colonizers. The government of Insaeldor while hosting the Saladese Government-in-exile has not legally represented it's rightful territorial claims within Cyllea. This is an indication of Insaeldic preference to the illegal occupation of Saladese Kingdom.

Political marginalization is a common tactic used by the oppressors to destroy and lessen our voices and is a tactic used by the Cylleans and Insaeldics. As of today Saladese make up 4% of the Insaeldic population with a total of 700,000 Saladese people the majority of whom are Sikhs (86%) with minorities of Hindu (12%) and Muslim (1%) but we only hold 0.2% of all seats in the Council of Commons represented by a single Christian Half Saladese man named Magnús Singh-Ölöfsonúr and man who does not truly represent the Saladese Majority. However this is better then the marginalization of the Saladese politicly in Cyllea who have little to kno political representation and the Cyllean government wound rather have a Saladesw person dig there own grave rather then state a valid opinion.

Now what does this have to do with the title? Well I do believe I've shown enough evidence that cheap goods and raw materials from Cyllea is enough for them to overlook Genocide. The capitalistic breed mentality of the Indsaeldic Government has contributed to the suffering of our people and there efforts to subdue our voice have come to work so far. I think I've also given bough evidence to show the continued oppression as well as our physical and cultural genocide preformed by the Cyllean government which are acts only preformed by backwards and barbaric people.

I do hope that I have shed light on the issues faced by the Samadese people. I know there are many Insaeldic and Cylleans who have come to our aid but unfortunately the kindness of the people of these nations are not reciprocated by there respective governments. You ether stand up for what you believe or die a Slave. Pick wisely people because your not going to find freedom for ourselves. No in Insaeldor, no in Soled, not in Ardoki, and not in the VDR. We can only find freedom in a nation created for us and that is the Saladese Kingdom and everyone of Saladese ancestry should look to reform our homeland for ourselves.

President Caitlín Markey Expected to Win in Landslide Victory: Over 3/4 of Votes


The incumbent President Caitlín Markey of the Social Democratic Labour Party, the Massive Favourite (Left). Citizen Anthony Thatcher, a foreigner and the candidate for the Liberal Conservative Party (Right).

With the 2014 General Elections just a couple of weeks prior, the 2014 Presidential Elections are now upon us. President Caitlín Markey, being in power for over 10 years now, is the expected favourite once more. With polls expecting her to get over 75% of the vote. The foreign born Anthony Thatcher, a member of the general assembly for the LCP is also running for President. The Greens are in as usual, though only time will tell us who the victor shall be.

With the General Elections over, and the Social Democratic Labour Party remaining in power (FUN FACT: The Social Democratic Labour Party has been in government since its formation from the merging of the Social Democratic and Labour parties in 1984), our head of state, her Excellency President Caitlín Markey has called for the elections. As you all know, she and all the other candidates have been campaigning tirelessly from the SDLP's election victory a few weeks ago, the presidential elections shall be on the 1st of December this year.

The President, a candidate of the Social Democratic Labour Party is expected to be re-elected with over 75% of the votes. She has been in power since the 2004 presidential elections, where she won with a landslide. Her loyalty to the Democratic Republic, and its principles was an example to us all. She tirelessly worked, not for personal gain, but for the good of her country and its people. She is set apart from many a heads of state from across the world, as one of the world's best.
Anthony Thatcher, an English immigrant to Ardoki, is running for the Liberal Conservative Party. He is currently a leading member of the LCP in the National Assembly, and is thought to be the next in line to its leadership.
Shevon Donovan, is running for The Greens. She use to be a member of Greenpeace before settling down and making a difference in parliament. She is not expected to gain very many votes.

President Caitlín Markey is expected to win at least 75% of the votes, with Anthony Thatcher winning just under 20%. Shevon Donovan will receive the remainder. Polling will be on Monday, until Thursday. Remember to vote, it is compulsory after all. Have a happy presidential elections.

President Caitlín Markey has been re-elected for the 2nd time since her ascension to the head of state in 2004. Her selfless devotion to the people and nation of Ardoki was not forgotten, and she shall serve another term in office thanks to the democratic will of the people.

While the President is only the head of state, her role is purely ceremonial. She is the personification of Ardoki, elected by the people, to be their personal representative, for them and the entire nation. Her acts, which can only be described as selfless devotion to the people and nation, self-sacrificial, kind, merciful, humorous, just, etc. are the reason for her popular re-election by the masses. Receiving a vote of 78.95% from all eligible voters, while a drop from last year, still places her as the Democratic Republic's most popular head of state.

In a surprise move, the candidate from the Greens managed to beat Anthony Thatcher by almost double the amount of votes. Showing that even away from parliament, and in a purely ceremonial and powerless role, the Liberal Conservatives are viewed as an inferior choice to the Social Democratic Labour Party and the Ardokian Greens.

Foreigner, such as those in Inyursta, have taken an online opinion poll (which over 90% of the polled were foreigners and not Ardokians) as an example of the views of the Ardokian electorate. They think that based off a poll which had been rigged by bots from unfriendly organisations, the Ardokian people prefer the LCP over the SDLP. Only shows their ignorance. This election, which has been verified to be fair and open by various international sources, is the true indicator of the democratic will of the populace. They have chosen President Caitlín Markey to continue to be our head of state. Chancellor Alastaire Moriarty tweeted that he congratulates all the contenders, and looks forward to continue working with the President, in matters of state, and on a new political Eurodance album featuring the President and various members of government.

This was a spectacular election, and the results are indicative of the democratic will of Ardoki. Long live democracy, and long live Ardoki!

Armed Rebellion in Ech'dra

Earlier this week, a large armed uprising occurred in Ech'dra, the most populous and industrial city in Cyllea. The perpetrators of the rebellion are the Cyllean Revolutionary Front, the armed wing of the National Revision Party which has been banned since 2003. Ever since then, they have been waging a low level insurgency against the government. The National Revision Party states that the governmental inability to bring Cyllea to greatness is the reason for rebellion, though there are a wide variety of reasons within that. The CRF is estimated to have 147,000 forces across Cyllea, with at least 17,000 of those located in Ech'dra. More are expected to pour into the massive battle, while bombings and isolated gunfights have also been reported across the nation, including a bombing of a marketplace near the Imperial Palace in Er'inea. There are already an estimated 200 fatalities and countless wounded, which is expected to rise as the NRP and CRF call upon their members across the nation to uprise.

Only 62 percent of Fukiyoyans practice Thibautism, surveys report

According to government surveys, around 62 percent of Fukiyoyans (residents of Thibaut's southernmost state) practice Thibautism. In other countries, this is a huge number, whereas in Thibaut, this is an appalling amount of people.

To put this in perspective, 97 percent of residents living in Hapari (the large island where the capital of Happaro is located) practice Thibautism, 94 percent of people living in Saori (the smaller island near Hapari) practice Thibautism, and 88 percent of people living on Hikiro (Thibaut's northernmost state) practice the religion.

God's Honorable Descendant Ichirou Akiyama addressed the issue last night.

"It is a shame that there is a significant minority of people in Fukiyoya that have abandoned their faith. I propose there will be a mandatory course for all people living in Fukiyoya who are not followers of Thibautism. I demand the taxes on atheists will be raised by 10 percent, and hope this will improve these misguided souls' perception of the religion."

Kaoru Yamaguchi, a leader of the youth group "Secularism for the Future", an evil liberal totalitarian-like militant group, spoke out her blasphemous words in an interview. Ms. Yamaguchi has notified us that she identifies as an agnostic, a devil-worshiper who does nothing but having sex with many different people and eating their faces off.

"Thibaut needs to learn that other religions may exist," she said, "not very many other countries haven't taken up Thibautism, and may be a sign that it isn't the right religion... Thibautism is probably false."

The Worshipper's Chamber and Grand Honorable Senate will take a vote on the Grand Ichirou Akiyama's statement, and will most likely be passed.

Merry Christmas, and, moreover, Happy Holidays to all peoples throughout this wonderful nation; Christians, Jews, Muslims, Atheists; today we may share a common holiday and sit down and enjoy ourselves to stray away from the bickering of politics or harsh worldly realities and exchange gifts and eat delicious food and drink wine in plenty, but while also retaining or increasing our kindness to those who are less fortunate.

We have come a long way since the shadowy days of the Unification Wars, but have emerged stronger than ever in this modern and ever-expanding world. There have been dark days—potholes in our endeavours—but we progress onwards as a people united, and not those who squabble over foolish things like land and material goods. We share and improvise and innovate and push towards the stars and into the deep depths of the sea.

And we accept and tolerate those different from us; we bring them into our communities and into our schools as we should, because we live in the modern age and not that of wherein those with different qualities were driven out from society in ruthless manner. So long as the years progress, and time ticks forward, so shall the human species, in politics, in economics, in society, and in ourselves.

We must toss out the old and diseased ideals of "tradition"-alism and ethnic nationalism and observe all human beings as one; not as separate groups that have been torn apart over disagreements regarding religion and ethnicity and traditions and culture, but as a single species. And only then can true tranquility be achieved.

BANI ALI EXECUTES 100 CRIMINALS

The President has long stood by tribal rights and the nation's strict legal code

Today over one hundred of the nation's filthy underbelly were found guilty of a variety of crimes and sentenced to death. Twenty three of those killed were charged with adultery, sixty four with homosexual or lesbian acts, and the remaining were found guilty of crimes varying from rape to partaking in 'attempts to illegally change ones' gender' to murder. All of these acts are taboo, and illegal under the government code of law.

"These people were misguided, disturbed, and mentally ill. We did our best to help them, to give them an alternative to their paths they had chosen but they failed to listen, failed to take our advice. As such, these criminals have been sentenced to death, and this sentence was carried out accordingly with Semraman laws, with a government observer present." said a government spokesperson.

As per tradition, the Semraman government doesn't often carry out these executions itself, instead letting the highly influential tribal leaders organize and carry out these executions. Stonings and hangings are the most commonplace methods, with beheadings also fairly often and firing squads rare.

These particular executions took place in northwestern Semrama, and were done under the leadership of the Bani Ali tribe, led by Mohammed Hussein Yasra. This area has seen a rapid spike in such executions under the last two years, a backlash to attempts by self styled "social liberators" to breach the highly guarded internet and spread their anti-Semraman liberal propaganda.

This is not the first time such an execution has taken place, but it has been the the largest scale seen in months. President Sanjar Ardash, in his now fourteen year reign, has proudly stood by the nation's culture and laws, which he calls "essential to the very fabric of Semraman life" and has been harsh on those who side with the liberal propaganda spreaders, ensuring that they face the punishments they deserve.

In the advent of the new year, Emperor Tiberius of House Victorii made his address to the public of BellaRoma and the entire region. Speaking of his plans for the future of BellaRoma alongside the Imperial Senate, and his light-heartedness for the new year and what is to come.

As he continued he spoke of the hopes of friendship with fellow nations in this region, a friendship of peace, prosperity, and understanding, and looked forward to the diplomacy between these fellow nations in Vasarden , especcially of those of foreign lands with little knowledge of each other.

In the end of his speech he declared, "Felix Ianuariis, Jupiter, et libera nos Deus, which is roughly translated as "Happy New Year, God Save Us and Jupiter Guide Us"

Today, Prime Minister Sanjar Ardash announced the beginning of a "national restoration" plan, saying that he would restore Semrama to it's true glory. And the first step in doing that: Retaking the historical lands of Semrama, starting with the Da'Ji islands.

"For too long we have stood by and allowed foreign powers to push Semrama aside and take our land. I say no more. Today, I ordered the military forces of the Semraman Navy, the Semraman Air Force, and Semraman Airborne Forces to mobilize to retake the Da'Ji islands, long occupied by imperialist forces. I promise to the nation, that within the week, Semrama will retake the Da'Ji islands, and once more the Da'Ji people of Semrama will return to their homeland, and occupy it in freedom To the Eorlingan Empire: Tell your men to surrender and they will go home alive without any shots fired. Otherwise, they shall die needlessly." he spoke.

The Da'Ji islands are currently called the South Madieyerov Islands, held by the Eorlingan Empire since it seized it in the 1890s. Since then, the island has been a source of contention between the nations, and Prime Minister Sanjar has long said that he strongly supported "any and all action" to retake those islands.

News crews are revealed to have been deployed with the outgoing naval forces, and will provide cover to state run news outlet, and will likely receive top rating. Public support is strongly in favor of retaking the Da'Ji islands, and leaders of the small Da'Ji tribe have said that their people "are very ready to go back home."

Current Geopolitical Troubles Shake the King, Military Force "Not off the Table"

With the Shakyness of world politics as of late you'd expect the populace to be uneasy whith the Cyllean Earthquake destabilizing the southern portion of the nation and the international fear of a Revisionist assault as well as the newly revitalized efforts of the Semraman reaquasition of the Da'ji islands. Most of not every civilian who reads the new would in good conscious be fearful in some way but you never guess who is also afraid? The King himself Verúlfer has stated in his New Years interview saying "Well yes the new year has been rocky with all the new crisis in the world, to be fully honest I'm just as scared as anyone out there but the difference is im a world leader of one of the most influential nations in the world." He said.

He had to take questions on things like the Sepratist movements in the VDR especial in regards to Ölafurian and Gazankish whom hold conections to the Kingdom in ether Ethnic, Historical, or Religious context. When asked he said "In regards to these movements I support a democratic means to these movements and peaceful movements for Sepratism. I do believe that people should be given the right to self determination but I also fear the vocal minority could overshadow the silent majority. In specific cases in Ölafur and Gazank I would love to see the reunion of Ölafur into the Kingdom but I feel it must be done through democratic means and requires dialogue between the people of Ölafur and the VDR and hopefully Insaeldor can be part of that process. As for Gazank... I feel if they truly wish to be independent then so be but again it needs to be done by democratic means and through peaceful means. Protest, demonstrate, use your vote to get that message across don't turn to violence for this cause as we've seen that violence is never a substitute for peaceful means. We've seen it fail many times in the past and I would not like to see how that movement would fail because the 1% of the separatist movement crowd out the peaceful 99%." This quote itself has sparked some mild controversy as some politicians believe that it could strain relations with the VDR although the VDR has yet to respond.

He was further questioned on the Cyllean Earthquake in which he responded with "I do feel sorry for the people of Cyllea, i do truly wish to help but we need to cooperate with the Cyllean government of this issue. There is also the prospect of the Revisionist trying again what they attempted earlier in 2014. They are creatures of habit and creatures of opportunity so I wouldn't say military force is off the table if a stabilization mission is needed but it's definitely a last option of the Insaeldic government. Their is also fear that many other nations could take advantage of the situation to take out imperialistic goals and vendettas against the Cyllean government or is People."

During the same interview he was asked about the breaking news of the Semraman recapturing of the Da'ji Island. "I would advised against it but I can't control what they do. I would gladly invite the two people here to give them a peaceful and constructive outlet to negotiate the territorial dispute here in the capital. This is pointless tension and pointless conflict, and pointless death for this, if these were the law of the land my uncle Draugr X would have invaded Ölafur decades ago. This world is dictated by war it's dictated by diplomacy and the the Rule of Law. Will this truly be worth it? Would the natives truly wish to go back to their homelands after it's been torn apart by the machines of war? Only time will tell by common knowledge one could gather they would not wish to do so." Agsin causing a stir with many mainly conservative news pundits have criticized the wording saying that he had alienated potential allies in the world.

The interview hit its end with a question on what King Verúlfer had planed for 2015 with him answering "I can't read the future so I don't like to do long term plans as I love to be versatile and to able to adapt to the situation. However I do wish for 2015 to be a time of peaceful solutions to problems and expansion of diplomatic ties with many nations. Again I can't promise anything at this moment but I can promis I will try my best to make this year the most peaceful in history." He said to end off the interview. Even with the early criticism of this interview has shown his willingness to to keep Insaeldor active in the world stage and to make his presence one of peace.

EÖRLINGAN EMPEROR REMARKS ON SEMRAMA, CYLLEA

(Yes, I know, Putin, I know, I'm sorry)

Following the recent threat from Semrama to take the South Madierov Islands, the Emperor Aren Eörlingas IV has issued a statement during his monthly State of the Union address. He had some fiery words to say, warning that "Semrama no longer has the right to claim these islands, since they have been Eörlingan territory for the past 120 years", and "There is no basis on their invasion of islands of such low value to them". The Emperor vowed that the South Madierov Islands would remain Eörlingan, as has been for over a century, and the Islands would continue to serve their principal tasks as a research station and major southern naval base.

If the threat is followed through with what seems to be a carrier fleet off the coast of Semrama, then it is sure to turn into a deadly conflict over one of the most hostile places in the world. The South Madierov Islands are known for their high rate of inhabitability, with only the north-eastern coasts of the Norov and Leniery islands available for any permanent settlements. Despite this, a civilian population of over 800 remains on the island, wholly of Eörlingan origin. The Emperor said that "it would protect those citizens that had their roots in the Islands for decades".

If Semrama follows through on their threat, then their military action will be very risky, due to both the geographical and political climates. Geographically, the islands are in a very hostile part of the world, with cold temperatures approaching zero, worsened with the wind-chill. Such extremes are sure to disable any standard equipment operating in the area for long, which is why all native and military equipment stationed in the region are specially constructed as to deal with it.

Additionally, the Emperor commented on the political climate with Semrama. He said that the politics between the two nations up until that point had been "relatively uneventful and fairly normal". He warned that if Semrama carries on with their plans, that "the Eörlingan Empire would seriously reconsider their relationship with Semrama", and that "we will be sure to reply to the threat in the most severe way possible".

Lastly, Emperor Aren Eörlingas IV mentioned that it would offer aid to the state of Cyllea, which would be totally humanitarian in nature. It's been no secret that the Eörlingan Empire and Cyllea aren't the best of friends, and the two have a stressed relationship. Due to this, we expect to be sending some sort of aid package to the affected citizenry of Cyllea, and maybe some of our Green Cross groups. More information would be given out later, the Emperor said.

Insaeldic Navy Deploys to the Árdiúmís Passage.

Earlier this morning 10 Naval task forces were launched from several naval ports in eastern Insaeldor as tempers flare up against Eorlingan and Semrama. The majority of the fleet which has formed at sea are mostly Destroyers and Frigates with the two Insaeldic carrier groups being stationed in the Southern Mink sea with the other station near the Semraman Gulf.

Although rumors abound about the deployment and even the Defense Milistry being vague on the subject saying that the ships had been deployed to "Prevent further escalation of future conflicts" which has lead to fears of war in Cyllea but many of our military analyst have said to to prevent an Eorlingan combat fleet from Attack Sermana as the conflict for the Madeirov Islands start to reach the point of no return.

The vagueness of the Defense Ministry and a lack of explanation from the executive royalty has lead to an outcry by many Councilmembers who have called the action brash and irresponsible with councilmember Avròl Dèræð saying "This is completly irresponsible, I mean do we even know what we're doing here or are we just hoping a small show of force in our back door will stop this war? I'm confused as to why we're even doing this." But aside from a few voices the Council has stayed relatively silent on the issue and have been more focused on an upcoming tax reform bill.

As of now we have limited answe and thus only time will tell on what is going to be going on the Passage. We will keep you updated on this subject.

Increased Military Stationed on Borders and Coasts

As tensions arise across the region, the BellaRoman Army and Navy has been placed on high alert and moved from inactive to activity patrolling borders, coasts, and the air above by the Air Legion. The reponse being to both the Cyllean Civil War and new arisen conflict between Semrama and the bordering Eorlingian Empire.

There have been reports of further patrols into the island archipelago in the Mink Sea where BellaRoma and several other nations are coastal too. As well as sentry patrols over Eorlingian Territory, both claims have been dismissed by the Minister of Defense, Saturio Mucianus, saying.

"The movements of our army and navy are on regular patrol, considering that no military ship is capable of exiting the Mink Sea due to Insaeladorian Blockades, and the idea of sentries and Lebensraum have little to do with the chaos occuring in the region as of now.."

What movements the BellaRomans make is now only up to speculation...

Council of Commons Overturns Importent Royal Veto. The Political Party Refurendum Will Take Place With a Vote Scedualed For Febuary 1st

Today marks an importent day in the political history of Insaeldor and one of national if not international news. Today the Council of Common was able to get a 65% vote to overturn King Vereúlfers earlier veto of the Political Parties Refurendum with a vote of 225-120 jus barely getting the overturn by two votes. The Refurenfum will decide wether or not the upcoming 2015 Council Elections will have popiltical parties or not and would be the first time in Insaeldors history that any legislative had a party system.

If you're a history buff you will most likely know why this is importent. The Council of Common then known as the
Samsetningameinaðá was a Tricameral legislative body made up of the the Chamber of Deputies who were directly elected representatives, the Chamber of Judges made up of appointed Judges, and the Chamber of Bishops who were made up of members appointed by the multiple religious entities within Insaeldor (darting was apportioned to the percentage of the population in religion carried) and was established in 1246 AD after the conclusion of the Insaeldic Unification Wars. These three chambers were however always in conflict. The Deputies were mostly opposed to the fact that they as democraticly elected officials shared power with appointed bodies. Within the Chambers of Deputies two political factions formed the Democrats whom supported a constitutional monarchy and Republicans who supported the abolition of the monarchy in favor of a republic. The other two branches also formed more unified political groups with the Chambers of Judges sided with the Democrats the Chamber of Bishops formed the Theocrats whom as the name suggest favored a more religious rule of law and finally the monarchy itself acting as government.

In 1259 AD the political waring groups finally came to blows with the War of the Chambers in which a unified Drmocrat-Republican force went to war with the Theocrats and the Royal government going to war with both. Within 2 years the theocrats had firmly been bested and now the Royalist and Democrar-Republicans daughter a 12 year long war which saw the Royalist forces out of the capital and into the country side where the short lived Ýærdínbörg Republic was established befor the internal conflict between Democrats and Republicans emerged which lead to "Bloody June" where the armies of both the Democrats and Republicans killed or inprisioned anyone they seemed a threat. The war ended after the Royalist recaptured most of Eastern Insaeldor (including the capital Ýærdínbörg) and the stalemate in the east broken with the Peace of Túlípani which ended the civil war and established the nonpartisan unicameral legislature we have today in 1273 AD.

Now why was that quick history lesson needed? Because it sets president as to why Insaeldor does not have political parties within it's democratic system for the last 750 years. Insaeldor was so destroyed by political parties and similar entities that it's placed a nearly 750 year ban on their existence. Historically speaking the idea of having political parties has only seem some mainstream outlet is because of multiple forign political entities trying to establish branches in Insaeldor but to no success in setting up parties however spreading of ideology is a different story.

Now with the Counvil pushing through a February vote on the subject the already bitter arguments that have been playing out in Insaeldor. On the one hand many argue this brings greater political unity and also gives politicians not only a way to unite but also an organization in which to be supportive of each other in both politics and during elections and gives the people a clearer goal when voting. However in the other had many have said that this is not only a killing of tradition but will strangle the democratic process. This will make more adversarial then cooperative and will lead simply to people voting for political parties and not actual candidates.

Regardless of it all we will see this importent piece of legislation hit the ballot in a months time and until then nearly everyone will have to make the importent choice of wether they want parties or not and with a referendum that only needs 50%+1 to pass the stakes could never be higher.

With One Week Before The Refurendum What Is The Popular Opinion

So with just over a week until the Political Party Referendum what do the opinion polls tell us? Well as of January 24th 2015 the current polling shows the No vote with a slight lead at 51.2% with the Yes vote trailing extremely close by with 48.8% of the vote a difference of only 2.4% and well within the pollings ±3.1 point margin of error. Now many are asking how a Refurendum which barely squeak by the Council of Commons, was Vetoed, and then was pushed through with just one vote would be able to have polling this close? I truth there are lots of theories from good campaigning and even misinformation to simply people wanting political parties in their democracy but we truly don't have any hard numbers to be definitive in any assertion but let's look at peopl who are voting ether way on this subject.

"It really should pass, we've done just fine without them." Says Hádvr Úftöriksín a construction worker and father of two "If you look back in history what did political coalitions do? They did nothing they just sat around a bickered about nothing and accomplished nothing hell it even lead to war at one point if I remember my history correctly. The thing is that we have done just fine with our non-partisan system and if it ain't broke don't fix it we're just spending millions of dollars on a pointless referendum." He told us while on his lunch break. He isn't the only one to say similar things on the matter Counciler Týröft Öðensýn has said "We have this system in place for a reason. We scrapped political parties so early in our history because they didn't work. All policy was about the party and not the people and if we regress into a system that was flawed at the start then will have hell to pay for. I assure you we might not even get a 3rd of what we would normally get done in a session of this passes I promise it."

However there are people who support this referendum on many grounds. One such person being Primary School Teacher Alyänna Týdenþorn who says "I think it's a great idea, political parties give more people the ability to enter politics especially in local and Providental politics because it gives them funds rather then them self financing and we can thus get people who actually know the struggles of the average man rather then a rich ideologue in there. It also gives us a more clear picture in the policies will be voting for and the like." Her statement is also backed by Counciler Ediþ Zimmer "I was fortunate enough to have community backing in my campaign financially something that most people don't have and this leads to a disproportional amount of wealthy socialites being elected into office especially in the more highly populated area of the nation. This leads to a marginalization of the 99% as we all know the rich don't care for the plight of the commoner and I'm proud that the Refurendum overturn was my last vote because I inow I stood up for the people I fight for." She said, and yes the Refurendum vote was her last major vote in Council as she is resigned her post after 52 years of service at the age of 89.

However the King has been unusually tight lipped on the matter and with King Varúlfer being nutritious for interjecting into politics and policy outside his realm of control this has been a strange silence from the king. He last mentioned the issue of the Refurendum only after he Vetoed it nearly 3 months ago saying "I have faith in our system, I have confidence that our political system is doing its best. We are one of the most democratic nation in the world and have had a tradition of having our people speak their voice. This Refurendum is a useless waste of time, money, and human resources to fix a political system which is not flawed in any signifigent way nor broken at any level. I've Vetoed this possible referendum because it's pointless not because I have an issue with political parties in general. We will continue to practicw our democratic traditions the way we have for almost 750 years and it will still work as well as it has for those 750 years."

It's generally agreed that King Verúlfer is not supportive of this Refurendum based on that alone given its his only recorded comment on the matter. But for right now Schools, churches, and community centers are starting to convert themselves into highly effective voting stations for the week ahead and with little to stop it the Refurendum will go as planed and will possibly be one of the closest votes we've ever seen.
