No, the Zombie special event is like the Simpsons Halloween Special where the storyline is non-canon, i.e. there is no connection to the main storyline.

I don't get how nations have to suffer because of this stupid thing nationstates created. Halloween is just a dumb "holiday" that one idiot created. I had over 450 million people, now I have 1 million. This is VERY VERY VERY UNETHICAL. >:( >:( >:(

You don't have to partake in the zombie event. You can just declare it non-canon, and it'll have no effect on anything that goes on in your nation. Everything reverts back to normal after the event.
