New West Canada gained independence after the revolts were successful against Canada.

We gained independence from China in 1971 Mao Zedong was arrested on charges of treason and war crimes against humanity. So we kinda established ourselves as a great nation we're not named after Mao but his estranged son who imprisoned him Zhe Zedong.

We were a colony of Rome off Africa, but after West Rome collapsed we got independence sort of unwillingly.

The Imperial Dominion of Longweather was established after it was decided by the Dominus and other nobles to turn their eyes to Empire. Before that, the nobles of House Longweather and their retinue were foreign people in a new, bold world. They built up goodwill with the technologically advanced natives (I imagine that the nobles looked more than a bit backward to them), learned their capabilities, and then took over once they learned out to use their magic in this universe. After that they established themselves as the leaders of the then Dominion of Longweather, even the retinue of House Longweather that came with them were elevated to nobility.

The Dominion of Stease gained its independence after the nation's former ruler was killed by a suicide bomber. The previous ruling party fell into disarray once their leader died. A bloodless coup ensued shortly thereafter and a new "president" was installed. Elections were held in a couple of days to reaffirm power and that's how Stease came to be.

Stease used to be two islands (east and west) forcefully joined together. The Western island wanted independence from the imperialist eastern island. Now that they are free, Stease wishes to integrate its eastern neighbor...

Tuskamo gained it's independence from The Kingdom of Strangoff, rather silently and unknown in the first place. When Captain Tusk Chekov (Later King Tusk Chekov) arrived at the island, he gained trust from the Native Tuskamocans. Then, he sailed back successfully back to Strangoff, unknown. Realizing that he and most likely the rest of the citizens of Strangoff were tired of it's laws and government, he planned to help wiling citizens sneak onto ships as stowaways and others in the other ships in which Tusk claimed to the land he found.

But, the government became suspicious when they realized that Tusk hadn't returned yet, families were disappearing from their homes, and their population was decreasing rapidly. They sent Captain Irving N. Stafford and his crew to investigate Tusk's disappearance, and they headed towards his target island. While the crew was sailing, Tuskamo was growing and on 1500, Tusk was proclaimed king. The crew reached the island on 1501. Captain Stafford spied on a meeting of Tuskamo's early Kingdom Council. He realized that he supported Tuskamo and began secretly working in their government. However, his crew found out and they killed him. They traveled back to Strangoff to report the news. King Petrus of Strangoff was enraged and declared war on Tuskamo on 1509. This war was known as the Lava War, which lasted for 7 years and 2 months.

It took to a stop when King Petrus was assassinated by Major Rochus Ottmar Rowe (Later General Rochus O. Rowe, General of the Army and Minister of Defense) on 1516. King Petrus's son, King Henry (San Henry was named after him) took his place, and Strangoff and Tuskamo signed a peace treaty, that same year. They became allies soon after.

Saurisia was formed out of a union between the Saurian Republic, various Saurian states on Mesozoica, Jurassica, and Triassica, the Kingdom of Drakonia, Kingdom of Khazad, Cetacian Confederacy, Sahleel Confederacy, Kingdom of Pomeria, and the Kingdom of Sussur after approximately fifteen years of warfare between the various states mentioned above in June, 1629.

Exxosia "seceded" from the United Kingdom, New Zealand, France, Norway, Australia, Chile, Argentina, Russia, and the United States after Antarctica's glaciers melted mostly away due to runaway political global warming. When a land rush occurred, numerous settlements allied under the command of Exxos von Steamboldt II and, with the assistance of the Kingdom of Penguinstan, repelled the external forces and brought the Exxosï-Penguinstani Union into being.
The Exxosï-Penguinstani Union was beset by multiple forces from without and within as various powers attempted to conquer or otherwise destabilize the Antarctic continent's nations. Eventually a force led by the remnants of the United States, Southern Argentina, and Nova Rus managed to turn the Penguinstanis against the Exxosians and bring about the Tsch'kar Regime Tribunal, named after Julian Tsch'kar, the de facto intermediate governor of the International Mandate of Antarctica.

Under the Tsch'kar Regime Tribunal, Antarctica saw numerous tragedies, ecological disasters, and mass extermination of the populations – the penguinstani and Drahknaran populations being reduced by nearly 97%. The original nations of the Exxosï-Penguinstani Union were allowed token seats in the Tsch'kar Regime Tribunal's parliament through this period.

During the transitional period between the Tsch'kar Regime Tribunal and the House of Exxos Empire, Exxos von Steamboldt IX locked the doors to parliament after chucking a number of incendiary grenades in. However, due to a misreading of the Thombobulan on the crate of grenades, they were not incendiary as much as aphrodisiac (the Thombobulan translated as "fire them up," you can see where that's going) and the entire parliament broke out in an orgy. The final effect was a massive vote of no confidence from the people, that in turn led to the House of Exxos consolidating power, but it was still immensely embarrassing.

Numerous wars later – including The Bloodbeast War, in which an experimental lifeform escaped from a research lab that, while it only took two guys and a hoveround mobility scooter to take down, the resulting flood of 25 billion gallons of blood was quite a liberal application of ichor to the area to say the least – Exxosia rose from the ashes as a habitat-dome-strewn country locked in ice and corndog batter.
