United Peace Alliance
Propagating Peace throughout Humanity
The United Peace Alliance, or the UPA, is founded in the midst of global crisises, civil wars and military endavours. This Alliance seeks to promote peace throughout the world in today’s ever changing, ever progressing society.
We seek to introduce a new culture of Diplomacy and Peace in regions, nations and even states, where instead of brutal warfare, we negotiate via peace talks and diplomatic meetings. We seek to provide a new avenue for both developed and developing states to improve on their pacificist ideals.
We maintain a noncorrupt structure. Should any position be found corrupt, or not matching our standards, we will remove that position without any prior warning.
Our Ideals
1. Promote Peace and Stability in Regions
2. Bring Prosperity to all Nations
3. Provide a Healthy Avenue for Pacific Nations to Discuss
Our Mission
To be a shining light in the darkness; To serve, whenever you are served; To protect the rights of humanity
PRESIDENT
Harry Matthews
Minister of Justice, PhD. Political Science, MD Law
Delegate from Kingston-Atlantis
Harry Matthews is a veteran in Kingston-Atlantis politics, and is the current Minister of Justice for Kingston-Atlantis. He has served the nation in positions like the Attorney-General, Chief Justice, Minister of Economy, and he is currently the Deputy Prime Minister of Kingston-Atlantis, and the Secretary of Public Affairs in the Justice Alliance, the ruling party of Kingston-Atlantis.
Harry Matthews first entered politics when he had joined the Democratic Free Party in the 1990 elections as a candidate in the Dakota province. He won the seat, by a slim margin of 6%, but due to conflicts within the party, and a general sense of hatred towards the deceitful party leader, he withdrew from the party.
He then met his Law School junior, the then Lawyer Kenneth Hon, and they both decided to set up a new political alliance, naming it the “Justice Alliance”. The year they ran, 1995, the JA snatched an overwhelming majority of seats throughout the nation, and he dizzyingly was made Minister of Economy.
In 1998, an economical crisis struck Kingston-Atlantis and the nation fell into deep recession, forcing the Ministry of Economy to greatly lower the minimum wage, and introduce several unpopular policies. Fearing that he will not be re-elected, Harry Matthews introduced the “Iron Plan”: a complete revitalisation of the economy, within 5 years.
By 2000, while the rest of the region was crumbling due to the chaotic aftermath of the recession, Kingston-Atlantis had climbed to an all-time high. He was re-elected in 2000 with almost 85% of the vote in his constituency. Kenneth Hon had a little talk with him, and they had decided to move him to the Minister of Justice position.
In 2002, the Norton Bribery Case struck Kingston-Atlantis, shocking the Ministry and the Minister. He had come under light and was heavily slammed by critics. Facing a wall in front of him, he fired all the lawyers, all those in the Ministry that he suspected of corruption. That sent a strong message to the populace.
In 2005, he implemented the “Quality over Quantity” policy, and continued to remove those unworthy of the position in the esteemed Ministry of Justice. Re-elected for the third time in the Justice Alliance, this time with a stunning victory against radical, emerging socialists, he continued to print his legacy onto the history of Kingston-Atlantis.
Harry is now married to Claire Marie, and has 3 children - Justin, a Member of Parliament, Robert, an Executive Chef, and Susan, a Principal. His family lives happily in Dovelantis.
