Is this the end of an Era for NationStates???

Postby Indian Empire » Fri Sep 26, 2014 12:39 pm

Is this the end of an era for Nationstates?

Well, first, let's define what "Era" would mean in Nationstates terms. In RL terms, here is the definition of "Era".

A long and distinct period of history with a particular feature or characteristic.

Although this is kind of what I mean, let's define here what we are missing. What I mean by "Era" would be when nations and regions from the past (Past means like somewhere between 2007 to 2010 in our case) either die off or become less influential in Nationstates. Good examples are: Afforess, Milograd, Divair, etc. This would mean that newer nations (Nations from 2011 to 2013) become more influential. Do you think we have begun a new era, are we in a transition kind of mode, or do you think an "Era" even exists in Nationstates?

Old nations leave us all the time. It's sad but it happens. I don't think this means that NationStates is at the "end of an era."

I only think one name in your list is even worth remembering. We're still in the middle of an era. The era of petty and lame ass GCR drama :p

I have noticed a distinct increase in old departures in NS lately.

Hardly. Milograd is the only name on your list who is particularly noteworthy. The rest have hardly had any impact whatsoever. Nice try, though.

I founded Madrigal and Confederacy of Allied States. However, I have given up my power in both. I reside in Iraq currently. Come join me!

How is Thafoo influential? I mean, I liked him and all but all he did was post on TET and run an LGBT region of non-GPers....

How have Generalites influenced GP? Additionally, most weren't particularity distraught over Afforess' departure. You appear to be judging influence based on your skewed perceptions. That is, by far, the worst way to go about judging impact.

Wow, the peoples are divided on this issue. if the poll were to have 2 options, Yes or No to having eras, the results would be 53% yes, 47% No.

The only thing I have noticed is that since the beginning of this summer, the quality of RPs has dropped substantially
Christus vincit; Christus regnat; Christus imperat
"All things have their season, and in their times all things pass under heaven"--Ecclesiastes 3:1
"Great Britain is a republic, with a hereditary president, while the United States is a monarchy with an elective king."
"The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of the Conservatives is to prevent the mistakes from being corrected"--G. K. Chesterton
Pro: British Unionism, Catholicism, Classicism, Conservatism, High Toryism, Monarchism, Traditionalism
Anti: Consumerism, Devolution, Materialism, Modernism, Post-Modernism, Progressivism

my "heyday" ended right around when TET was put on hold. the people who I knew when I first joined (Thafoo, Slembana, Cheri, De la fleur, Liriena) are either inactive or long gone but their memories remain. on the bright side, I, along with HorusLand/Rikatan, Aeken and Coffee Cakes am the senior generation for my 'new' group of friends (United regions of verona, Zottistan, Uieurnthlaal, Iceland Republic, New Nassrau, Nasal Bondage) mostly in Kotturheim. there's always a life cycle, even on the internet, and I've had and am still having a great time here :)
