Background: The United Terran Alliance, was founded out of a confederation of 5 systems and worlds in the year 2103, while not much is known about the pre Alliance period, what is known that after a period of physical isolation lasting several decades some worlds regained the ability for FTL travel; originally they kept in contact with quantum entanglement systems prior to re-achieving spaceflight. By the time hyperdrive was invented in the 2150’s a loose pact had been formed with the known systems New Sol became the nucleus of a confederation of worlds. It took another fifty years before this confederation forced under the mighty threat of the Chronosian Imperium formed the Terran Alliance Today the Terran Alliance contains more than 12 different species unified under a federal government and it is one of the leading powers in the galaxy and the founding power of the GESO.


The early Alliance era ( 2200 -2350)


The founding of the Alliance and the first chronosian war-

At the start of the 2200’s the loose confederation of worlds known as the Interstellar Compact formed by New Sol, Tyrian, To-rem, Anacreon, and the the Beta Sagittarius systems where emerging in to the greater galaxy slowly and surely. This slow rise in to a wider range of galactic affairs was accelerated when in 2230 the exploration ship ICS Wellington picked up a distress signal from the Sohjin system. The commander of the ship , Captain Raymond Doyle responded. Upon entering the system, he was confronted by an unusual sight. A massive ship with a heavily gilded exterior and cathedral like spires hung over a small soh-jinian cargo ship on the outer sectors of the system.

The Wellington opened communications with the ship, and after a brief exchange. It was clear to Doyle that the galaxy for him and his people had changed, for they had now met the Chronosian empire . A battle ensued, the Wellington suffered heavy damage but the imperial ship withdrew. It was was later revealed that it was a scout for a large incursion of Chronosian forces into the sector.


The Chronosians regarded aliens and alien collaborators as impure and worthy only of destruction. The intervention of the Wellington had plunged the Compact into a war. The full effects of which still resonate today. The war caused the confederation of worlds to consolidate during the hard and bloody struggle the constitutional convention of 2250 lead to the establishment of the United Terran Alliance , the UTA had incorporated Sohjin and Ix-cumane in to their union. The Chronosian war that dragged on for several years had caused human and alien alike to work together, and in 2255 the war finally ended with an uneasy “truce”. The Alliance had rallied after heavy losses and pushed the enemy back, the galvanized alliance was now thrust forth into the spotlight.

Economics:

The Terran Economy-

The Terran Economy is extremely complex and quite diverse. The Terran Economy is based off of a predictive free market model at its core, with aspects of planned economics and mixed economic doctrines well ingrained into its modes of operation. The Terran economy is a developed economy, the majority of economic output in the Alliance comes from the service sectors, financial sectors, information, telecommunication, and knowledge economy sectors. The Terran alliance has one of the largest economies and GDP’s in the galaxy with and an economic index of 175, the economic position of the Terran Alliance is enhanced by the wide range of trade partners it maintains and its currencies status as a mainstay galactic reserve of GESO.

Industry-

Heavy industry is mostly automated and with the mass application of high capacity fabricators, most manufacturing offers little employment outside of research, maintenance and engineering positions.

However despite these figures at least 35% of the Terran Alliance's total GDP comes from manufacturing , and while the employment of fabricators have rendered most basic civilian products free of any real costs; the more advanced and complex manufacturing and fabrication involving advanced materials and space time manipulation more than makes up for the loss of that niche. More specialized manufacturing of cultural products or unique products in small shops or facilities still thrive, personalized products are not limited to the mass production by large corporate entities and with the access of micro fabricators to the civilian populace a wide array of personalized products and commodities are produced on the local level.


Information-

With the availability , and power of AI systems, market forecasting by companies and information brokerage firms have reached a point where they could provide at least semi reliable predictions of where market forces move. While Predictions and forecasting are far from perfect, the new abilities provided by AI’s and increasing computational power have made information firms and forecasting a big industry.

Worlds of the Terran Alliance


Neo Earth-

Neo Earth or “New Earth” Is the home world and capital of the Terran Alliance. Neo Earth is approximately 3.2 AU from New Sols star , and has two satellites, one large and habitable moon known as Terminus and one smaller moon known as Terminus minor. The diameter of Neo Earth is comparable to Old Earth in sol, the ratio of water to land while originally disproportionately in favor of water has equalized to earth levels by terraforming.


The worlds vast oceans still separate eight continents. New Atlantis, Columbia, and Mycyane major, where the first settled continents on the planet. Columbia is home to the Terran Capital of Union city, and is situated in the western hemisphere. The biosphere of Neo Earth like any other Terran Class world is quite diverse with both native and imported life, with a population of 10 billion Neo Sol is like other Terran worlds highly developed, yet much of its surface is still covered by rural and natural lands. The Instillation of a weather grid system in the 2500’s allowed for a wider range of environmental controls, most weather modification is done with the local biosphere and populace in mind and often yields to a standard deviation pattern.

Terminus (Moon)- Terminus is a rocky satellite orbiting Neo Earth, slightly larger than Luna its surface was terraformed about the same time that the terraforming of Neo Earth had begun. While is its smaller than Neo Earth and thus has a lower gravitational field it is nonetheless rendered quite habitable by both the use of gravitic modification and bioengineering. The population of Terminus is at last census 200 million, Terminus city is its largest urban area and is the heart of several major universities and scientific establishments in the Terran Alliance.

Torm (Tor-em system )

Tor-em (world)-

Tor-em is situated in the Torem system, several hundreds of light years away from Neo Sol, the planet is larger than Earth standard and is dubbed a (super terra) class world. The planet is also much warmer and much of its land masses are covered by mountains, warm jungles and deserts. The native fauna are diverse and quite dangerous, To-rem was settled by Terrans in the 2400’s, the Terrans discovered vast ruins under kilometers of soil and jungle, massive idols of dragonic and reptilian like beings and large temple complexes all composed of a strange material and gilded in valuable metals and stones. And more interestingly a native life form resembling quadruped dragons living in the Oruim Mountain chains and other chains were discovered. Initially it was thought these beings were unintelligent , yet it was soon discovered that they were quite keenly intelligent.


Who they are and how they got there remains a mystery, yet they were considered the dominant sapient life of the planet and thus the Terran government asked permission from these mythical beings whether they could settle on the world or not. They gave their consent in exchange for large preserves and territories much of which includes the old ruins and complexes discovered.

There is of yet much speculation yet no firm connection between them and the idols or ruins but many suspect these beings are more capable and powerful than they let on to be and are watching the Terrans and the galaxy quite thoroughly. Tor-Ajax is the planetary capital and is situated within the chancellery of "Koerigan” (Corgen), the planet itself contains roughly six billion inhabitants and makes up one of the core worlds of the Alliance.

Anacreon

Anacreon Prime-

Anacreon Prime first settled in 2220 is a terraformed world the size of old mars, it is located 2.5 AU away from its class K star. The world is colder than New-Sol by several degrees centigrade likely due to being in the midst of an ice age and the cooler temperature of the star it orbits, it is geologically active thanks to a core restart via terraforming. Its five continents are separated by oceans with salinity levels nearly double those of Neo Earth’s oceans, it like many other Terraformed worlds has a rich biosphere adapted to the colder temperatures. Its largest continent Angeon Major is home to to Aron city, the planetary capital. Located in the north eastern hemisphere of the world like its sister continent across the Calganian ocean its northern reaches are covered by glaciers and has a mainly tundra and temperate environment.

Anacreon prime is home to the Morgan Industries stellar research department, as well many medical institutions such as the Terran University of Xenobiology and medicine. It is a well known center of both astronomical and medical research and education. Its population in the last census totals 5.6 billion, with 200,000 on the small satellite Nessus minor that orbits the world.

Dehlini

Dehlini-

Dehilni joined the Alliance in 2550 during the galactic unrest that followed the collapse of the Sith empire, the subsequent seclusion of the old imperialist powers for the most part had removed some motivation for new worlds to join.

Yet the remaining Ta’nar threat during the JSA period had replaced the empire. The Dehlinian world is populated by insectoid like creatures that seem a lot like anthropomorphized alien mantis shrimp. Dehlini is a mostly dry temperate planet mostly of land, it is orbited by two satellites and 4 AU from a class O super giant. It is rich in gravitonic ores much of which is suspected to have been left behind in advanced terraforming by precursor races. Dehlini is known for being a hub of trade and its highly unified and dynamic culture focuses on mercantile, scientific and exploration activities. Dehlini has produced some of the greatest minds in the Terran Alliance, and has grown to be influential in the scientific and economic fields since it joined the alliance.

Dehlini is made up of two super-continents separated by two small oceans, these continents while arid or temperate and sporting many mountain ranges are dotted with many small seas and large lakes likely left over from a period of geologic and glacial activity.


Ixcumane

Ixcumane (ixu-cumane/eyxoo-cumanie) -

Ixcumane , is a large world classed as a super earth. It is a rather warm planet orbiting a class G and class K binary star system. The surface is extremely geologically and volcanically active; and it is inhabited by a race of reptiloid dragonic like dragon anthromorphs steeped in tradition and culture. Ixcumane joined the Terran Alliance in 2660, as the galactic cold war between pompous alliances such as Hermes, and ESUS and IRON were raging, its motives were less about its own security as the high primarch of the Korik clan put it.

“Your race seems to be one of the more noble and honorable ones in this fiendish galaxy, we shall join with you.. Let the prophets bless us.”

Ixcumane is well known for its religious scholarly that rivals even Sohjin, and aside from that they are well known for exporting exotic artwork and various works made from precious and lustrous metals. The Ixcumanes regard life much differently than Terrans but in a way mirror their beliefs in equality, they also value physical strength as much as conviction or faith. Ixcumane is also regarded as a place of beauty and soul finding. Its rugged terrain and varied cultures as well as its vast continents are the place of wonder for many extreme adventures. Ixcumanians are one of the few races in the Alliances that can either gender shift by a natural process or attain both genders in a hermaphroditic role. Xenobiologists have studied this phenomenon and theorize this was a survival mechanism much like in many other natural examples for the Ixcumanians to survive.

The Ixcumanians themselves believe this is so by the will of the prophets who had set in motion natural evolution. Thus Ixcumanians regard sexuality as liberally as the rest of the alliance and maintain that the trials of love.
