You would be surprised. Pascal is still useful in that it extends into Delphi. Which whilst in it self is not my favorite tool to use did have a brief but extensive bout of popularity. So if you want to work in the industry you might find your self having to maintain a system written in Delphi and thus Pascal. And if you think Pascal is old I will tell you that a lot of the really old companies like banks still use COBOL and FORTRAN.

I suppose you have a point. Still, we're wasting more time on it than we should. I'd rather move on to HTML or C or Java than spending almost two years on this.
