Backstory

Hello! Welcome to Bad Company - a group of rag-tag soldiers and mercs bound on making money out of World War 3, the year is early 2014, and the Russian-NATO war has just kicked off for reasons unknown to you, the grunt. What you do know, is making money in a 'Private Military Company' like Bad Company is far more profitable then dieing ungloriously for your country, so you decide to leave your post, gloriously in a shootout or slipping out in the middle of night, to go find this 'Bad Company'.

Bad Company is overseen by parent-company ION, a Private Military Company, although even its control over a wartime Bad Company is very limited, they're seen as the 'loose cannons' of the company - Effective as hell, but expensive and downright rebellious.

Da Rules

1) The usual, don't godmod, blablabla, You know the usual rules.
2) I will accept characters from 'elsewhere' (If you know what I mean, do it, if not, don't), but they need to adhere to the new application format.
3) REALISTIC. CHARACTERS. I don't want some badass navy SEAL with 9000 guns and a machette, No rambo's, If you're doing spec ops, make him realistic. Everyone has flaws.
4) No tanks/planes/ect starting, if we get them from Georgia or the Russkies that's fine but not starting. You can be a pilot Icly, but no starting planes/helis/ect.
5) Follow OP RP directions - If the purpose of this section of the RP is to get acquanted, don't go out starting a shootout on page 1.
6) Don't be rambo - I kind of covered this in R3, but don't go guns blazing by yourself and kill 10 guys in 1 post.
7) You can have (2) characters.
8 ) You can have whatever IC problems with people you want - we are a loose knit merc group, but don't bring them into the OOC. We're all friends here.
9) I am rather lax on your characters geographic location, but they should cover how in the hell they get to Georgia in the post. - You can say you took a ION jet to Georgia, but if you're from say China you should have a good backstory as to how you got involved.
10) You're mercenaries, people gunna' die. I reserve the rght to pull a Joss Whedon and brutally murder your character in search of good storytelling, so don't get to attached, although i won't do this often. Obviously if your character is killed off you are free to make a new one.

History with Bad Company(How'd you find out about us? How long have you been here?) Originally invited by ION as the companies technical expert, she got her draft notice shortly after preparing to leave the country, so she simply flew out to Georgia and joined the then-newly formed Company.

Biography:
Born in the (then) destabilizing Yugoslavia, Catherine was born to a Czechoslovakian father and a Croatian mother, creating a interesting ethnic mix. She joined the military at age of 18 in 2009, just as Croatia joined NATO, and went into being a technical specialist, while training on the side medically. She was far from a 'combat surgeon' as defined by NATO, but was often all that was available later on in life. She joined the military hoping for a furtherment of education that her poor family could not provide, and did 5 years of service.

She completed her tours in 2014, after completing 2 tours in Afghanistan, opting for a honorable discharge to enter the private military sector, however, less then a month after her discharge, the war began and she was reconscripted, not willing to go fight world war 3 when "her part had been done", she had a contact who offered her the spot in the then newly-formed "bad company", promising the usual riches-beyond-your-imagination, and she joined on as the company IT specialist & part-time medic, fleeing Croatia, and has moved around with the group for the past year or so, being one of the older members (Most of the 'originals' have been killed off or took there cut and left by this point) in the group.

Her english carries a heavy Slavic accent.

History
History with Bad Company:
Alyssa was riding in an MRAP with a squad on patrol. She had no idea why the brass brought a tech out of the garage and on sentry duty. They were to be pulling out soon before the russians advance. Their MRAP hit an IED and jolted everyone. They soon came under fire and everyone took cover behind the damaged vehicle. People began to die around her, and she got hit in the arm. A nearby explosion knocked her senses off balance another knocked her head against the MRAP, leaving her unconsciouss with a concussion. After her squad was killed, the Russians left, believing no one survived. Bad Copmany came by a few hours later on a scavenging raid and found her. Their medics nursed her wounds, and saved her from dehydrating to death in the mountains. She joined up, believing she was written of as dead, and owing her life to ION. She has served with Bad Co. for 1 1/2 years.

Biography:
Alyssa's family had a history of military service. Her grandfather was a major in armoured cavalry, Her father was captain of infantry, and originally tried to get her to join as an officer. After realising her talent with mechanics, he let her join as a vehicle technician. She specialized in heavy vehicles, such as the Leopard and the LAV, but was also adept at light vehicles like the Silverado or BV-206.

After training, she was deployed to Afghanistan three times, spending most of her time in various army garages around the country. She did a few sentry patrols but they were always calm as the war wound down. She never fired her weapon at an enemy until her last day in the service. Her time there made her almost oblivious to the war. She saw the aftermath; damaged transports, trucks with bullet holes, but never saw actualy fighting. When the Russian War broke out, the damage was worse. It gave her a worse idea of the situation. She realized from the frequency of getting total-loss vehicles with complete casualties that this area was lost. She heard stories of a ruthless, monster of a foe that showed no mercy and executed everyone left alive after a battle. She didn't know whether the stories held true or not, but she didn't want to find out.

History
History with Bad Company(How'd you find out about us? How long have you been here?): Formerly a loyal soldier of the Russian Ground Forces, onway to a close-quarter operation somewhere in a Georgian village, he heard about Bad Company and how well it pays. Not thinking anymore, at the time he was deployed along with his small squad in the village, he sneaked behind a couple of buildings, hid his guns, and came out, "surrendering" to Bad Company operatives, offering to betray his former comrades. They accepted, as they could easily use him to attack the Russian squad by surprise. He ran back to the building, grabbed his Pecheneg, and went back to his squad. When they were questioning about his sudden leave, he raised his weapon and shot them. Despite being shot with a pistol in the arm twice, he made it out, covered by Bad Company's fire. After he healed, Bad Company officially recruited him for his cunning abilities. He has been serving Bad Company for a year and two or three months.

Biography: Born in Vorkuta to a carpenter and a housewife, in a rather poor family, Lev has shown very little interest in learning at school, or at highschool. The only thing that was on his liking was Physic Education, as he could train to become stronger. After highschool, he started wandering the country by motorcycle for a couple of years. He temporarily worked as a miner for seven months, illegally employed, and has been known to be a fan of placing bets on dog fights. At the age of 21, he was conscripted in the Russian Ground Forces, and has deserted a couple of months afterwards, to join Bad Company.

History
Fredrick Freers was one of the first to enlist with Bad Company after the war broke out. He knew the search for riches and was tired of petty pay his Country paid him to fight their battles. He was always the man in the back taking the orders as they came. He then was given leadership opportunities for small raids and small squad tactics due to his military background. He then Separated from his original detail to this new detail in Georgia. He is seen as the man who can get any luxury you want, Smokes, Alcohol, Sweets, you name it.

Biography: Fredrick Freeres born in Berlin Germany was no typical ordinary kid. He grew up learning English as his primary language and German as his secondary. He went to an English school inside of the Capital City soon after he was four years old. After many years of learning and tutoring he graduated secondary school with honors at 18. As per his nation's request he signed up for Military Duty. With his Advanced knowledge of English and other skills he was quickly distinguished beyond his peers. Achieving Sergeant Major on his 35th birthday. Shortly after his birthday he was honorably discharged by his home country. He requested to stay in-country to peruse ambitions and was granted. He then arrived via civilian vehicle to the front line warzones following his best friend's Comapany. He soon took up his former arms not for his country but for money. He snuck into his former company's armory and stole all the equipment he needed and left.

History
Just finished with an extended firefight between an enemy platoon and her she was in, the silence it produced was especially jarring for her, since it gave her time to take in the destruction around her. In the end of the firefight, Yelena found out that multiple civilians were caught in the crossfire, mostly unarmed women and children. Most were dead, but some were only wounded, to which gave the remaining Russian soldiers some "comfort." Seeing this disgusted her to the bone, yet she did nothing, the only thing she could do was watch. The event was brutally stopped, when Bad Company operatives ambushed her platoon, killing everybody but her, being the only one that immediately surrendered to them.

Captured, Yelena was to be taken back a NATO holding facility, their route taking her through the city. Civilian bodies were strewn across the streets, killed by their artillery support, stirring the same disgust and anger from earlier. Having seen enough of innocent blood spilled, she asked if there was a unit that would allow for someone like her to fight against the Russian Army, and they simply laughed. The next thing Yelena, she was recruited into Bad Company. She has spent about three months with the unit, being one of the more newer members.

Biography: Ever since she was a kid, Yelena was told that she was a descendant of Nina Lobkovskaya, at least that's what her parents always said to her. Eager to live up to the name, by the time she could participated in the DOSAAF, Yelena did her best. There, Yelena proved that her aim was true, being deemed a marksman. For awhile, Yelena did nothing, since there was no active conflict that they were needed for. Several years later, Russia goes to war with NATO, and she was picked to be a sniper in the Armed Forces, yet her role was closer to a designated marksman, so she refers herself as such. Filled with patriotic fervor, she gladly fought against the "western" soldiers. However, this began to die down as the she continued to fight, which will eventually lead her to betray her country.

Blake Moore had known of Bad Company for sometime from the word of mouth of other Mercs he had worked with. He however decided to stay freelance for many years. However in 2014 with the threat of war looming and the crisis in Ukraine escalating he decided that he wanted a piece of that action. He might be knew to the company, but he is a very experienced Merc and soldier.

Biography:
After highchool graduation Blake Allen Moore decided to enlist in the US armed forces. He went to the local recruitment center in southern California and did exceptionally well on the ASVAB. He decided to join the special forces and on September 2nd 1998 he was sent to basic training and then AIT. He became a green beret in early 2000 and not long after 9/11 happened. He was with some of the first troops into Afghanistan. He would serve a total of 2 tours in Afghanistan.
During his second tour in IED went off a meter away from him sending him flying backwards and sending shrapnel through his face. His C1,2, and 3 vertebrate were fractured and the cartilage destroyed. He would never be able to move his neck completely again and he could no longer wear a helmet so after a year an a half of rehab he was retired with full benefits. This however could not quell his addiction to war.

In 2005 he went to Chad and served as a mercenary for the government forces in Central African Republic Bush War. He gained an excellent reputation among the mercenary circles and developed a love for the AK74 rifles. After the war came to a close he traveled to Georgia and as tensions began to increase between the tiny nation and Russia. When war finally came he worked as one of the mercenaries fighting against the Russians. He quickly gained a reputation of disrupting supply lines and communications and the Russians put a bounty of 1 million dollars on his head.

After that war drew to a close he was captured when a Georgian general he was assisting betrayed him to the Russians. He escaped a Russian POW camp and fled to Nigeria where he assisted Nigerian forces against the Boko Haram during the uprising. Now refunded and with a bad taste in his mouth he traveled to the Northern Caucasus. There he assisted in training the Caucasus Emirate insurgents and for more than a year caused havoc among the Russian forces in the region. After this he traveled to Tajikistan and fought along side the army Tajik army . There he sustained a wound to his left ear from a sniper round. Rumor is, after he got back to camp he loaded his pack with a weeks rations and hunted down the sniper who had shot him.

History with Bad Company(How'd you find out about us? How long have you been here?) Word was going around with his comrades abour Bad Company and what they did, so Josh decided to be "neutralized" in battle, and run away to Bad Company. He just arrived a week ago.

Biography: Born in 1987 in Coventry, England, Joshua unwillingly lived a spoiled childhood, as his family was extremely rich and knew the royal family like they were best friends. At age 10, Josh decided he had had enough of the spoiled childhood he was living, stole some money, and took a train to London, where he was quickly taken in by an ordinary family with a regular amount of money. Josh was content with his life until the age of 17, when a terrorist shot down both his (not biological) parents and mortally wounded his sister. Josh sulked about it for months, until he realized that he wanted to do something against terrorism. He enlisted in the Royal Marines, where he quickly became one of the most well known and trusted snipers in service with Britain. So well known, that the Queen handpicked him herself to sign up for the SAS.

He made the SAS, and lived a hard life of constantly killing his enemies, and it turned him into something of a monster (at least, that's what it appeared to be). He was reported by his mates that he shows no remorse when he takes down an insurgent, he just moves on, always in a seemingly neutral state of mind. Never happy, never sad. When his action with the SAS started to be minimized due to the eradication of many Taliban leaders, he got sick of it, snuck his way into a battle that was just outside his base, and never came back. People assumed he was dead. But he wasn't. He was over at Bad Company, waiting for action again.

Strengths: Great shot with a gun, trained to fight with a variety of weapons(mostly pistols, SMGs, assault rifles, and LMGs), good leader, brave, good under pressure, knows how to make anti-tank and armor mines out of certain items, speaks English(native) and also can speak, write, understand, and read Spanish and Russian quite well, due to being taught in the army, trained and experienced to drive, operate, and even command armored vehicles in combat zones, and is physically strong.
Weaknesses: Takes matters into his own hands, and doesn't listen to assigned leaders, and he usually likes being in combat, and not sitting around, can get extremely angry and sometimes, even extremely violent at times as well, when he is angered heavily.
Religion: Atheist(none)
Weapons: M4A1 with red dot sight and grenade launcher for primary(sometimes with a suppressor for stealth missions), Glock 17 for backup sidearm, MP-443 Grach pistol as primary sidearm, and a combat knife for close quarters, and also a Karambit combat knife for close quarters, but mainly it was a gift(so he will not use it much, unless needed).

-Armored vehicle and tank operating training(due to this training, he also now the strong and weak points and locations on armored vehicles, so he knows where the weak spots on armored vehicles are, including tanks)
-Communications and signalling(includes with radios and how to understand codes, even enemies)
-Languages(military taught him how to speak, write, read, and understand Spanish and Russian extremely well)

History
History with Bad Company(How'd you find out about us? How long have you been here?): Had a friend who went AWOL who he was in touch with, began working with Bad Company, so after he was discharged for misconduct, he decided to meet up with his friend where he setup a interview with bad company, and then after being accepted and going through their tests, he has been with the company for over 4 months(coming onto 5 months soon), doing fairly well...especially if he was the leader of his team. During his time with Bad Company, he saw action in places like Somalia, Libya, Ukraine, and several other third world places, usually fighting against terrorists, Islamist Militants, or pirates, however in Ukraine, he fought against Pro-Russian separatists, but Georgia is his first actual engagement with another nation's military; the Russian Military.
During his time, he has proven to be quite successful, passing all his missions with minimal casualties, always leading his teams to success and complete missions, becoming a highly recommended asset in and to Bad Company.

Biography: Born in a small town in Connecticut, he was the youngest and 4th child to 2 hard working and loving parents, and then moved to Houston, Texas when around 8, and stayed there until he was about 19 when he enlisted in the army in late 2001, a few weeks after 911, as it was always a dream of his, he was even in the Army JROTC at his high school. And he did fairly well in school, making a good amount of A's and B's with the occasional C.
After enlisting and going through basic training/boot camp, he graduated in the top 10% of his class, especially in shooting.
After he got into the army, he was apart of the 1st Cav. Division, and from there he got his obsession and love for armored vehicles and tanks.
So of course, that is when he started requesting to start training for driving armored vehicles, and after doing the tests and training, passing both, he was certified to start driving and operating armored vehicles for the Cav, and he did so in Iraq and Afghanistan multiple times, usually driving a M2A3-Bradley IFV, which he became a commander of one, due to his good leadership skills and knowledge of the vehicle, but he was usually stuck with the new guys fresh from boot camp in his M2-Bradley, but he didn't let it get the best of him, usually commanding these new recruits to success in his M2A3-Bradley. He has many successful missions done with commanding his vehicle, usually in VIP/convoy escorts, infantry support, or just other situations that required armored support for infantry.
He even commanded his M2A3-Bradley with his crews in battles such as Fallujha, Baghdad, Kabul, and others, usually supporting infantry or advancing ahead of them to thin out enemy numbers or to recon areas ahead to see if they were clear, always turning out successful results during his tours/deployments into combat, earning him many commendations and even the bronze star award.

His first tour in Afghanistan went pretty well, with him driving/commanding a M2-Bradley along with the 2 tours in Iraq, earning him the bronze star award even, but during the 2nd tour, he began to become more...defiant to orders, as he was tired of not seeing much action(mainly due to most of it was killed off over the years) and so he was in Afghanistan being a support role, and not seeing much combat. This irritated him, so it caused him to become frustrated, bored, and even disrespectful to his superiors and even defiant to orders, which eventually got him discharged for misconduct and refusal to follow superior's orders. However, even after he served in the army for over 13 years, before joining Bad Company in 2014.

So now after joining Bad Company, with the help of his friend, he is ready for action and to get paid.
He always says, "If you throw money into the equation...then anyone is willing to do anything."
