What is your nation's retirement/pension policy?

Postby Atlanticatia » Fri Jun 13, 2014 7:08 am

Atlanticatia providesis comprehensive public pension system for its retired residents. We have qquite long life expectancies, so it is very important.

Part A:
Near-Universal Basic Pension; Almost all people who live in Atlanticatia for 10 years will receive the basic pension of $350 a week (50% of the minimum wage). This is just a residency requirement not a work requirement., Those who are ineligible for the contributory pension will receive a $200 per week old-age support bonus ($550 a week total). The pension is means-tested, however. Those with a retirement income of $100,000 or more will not receive the payment.

Part B:
- Contributory pension: Most people in Atlanticatia are eligible for this pension if they have worked for atleast 15 years. It is paid at 50% of the average inflation-adjusted income for the 15 highest earning years of one's working life. The maximum payment is $650 per week. This is paid on top of the Basic Pension. The minimum payment is $200 per week. There is no means testing.

This means the minimum pension for any Atlanticatian is $550 per week, and the maximum is $1000 per week.

Part C: Supplementary benefits
- Pension Housing Allowance: if a rent or mortgage payment exceeds 35% of income, the housing allowance will pay the difference. The allowance is means tested and capped at a certain amount.
- Public Transport Allowance: Public transport is 100% free for retirees.
- Energy Allowance: $25 per per week is paid to go towards energy bills in the summer and winter months.
- Medical Services Card: Reimburses transportation costs for medical treatment and pays the $5 prescription free.
- Community Card: This will provide discounts at various establishments such as hotels, restaurants clothing stores, etc.

Part D:
- Retirees in need of housing will be able to get public housing in one of the Atlanticatian retirement villages.

Pension age: 65 for both. However, if someone has at least 40 years of contribution years, they may retire at 61. (So people do not overwork themselves)

There isn't any retirement . Everybody get compulsory euthanasia at age 50.

We have a Guaranteed Annual Income (GAI) for everybody, so government pensions would be redundant.

The Imperium's retirement policy is simple. If a soldier survives his 50 year stint in the Imperial Defense Force, then he's allowed to retire to the countryside near Tobyhanna, with a generous pension.

People are entitled to a pension over the age of 60 and are allowed up to two thirds of what their originally wage was

Retirement? What an awful idea, our species would never be such drains on national resources. You work until you die, free time is taken when you are young enough to do something with it.
When life gives you lemons, you BURN THEIR HOUSE DOWN!
Anything can be justified if it is cool. If at first you don't succeed, destroy all in your way.

Private pensions and pension funds are banned. All pensions are distributed by the State.

Industrial and service workers can retire at 60 and recieve the equivalent of their full wages as a monthly check, plus additional benefits for certain workers if applied for. Womyn, minorities, and LGBT are eligible for higher pensions to compenate for the discrimination they face in the workplace.

White-collar workers are eligible for three grades of flat pensions as determined by the Ministry of Welfare.

Agricultural labourers do not recieve pensions but may live in state-funded Rural Retirement Communities. However, landowning farmers are not eligible for RRCs and must support themselves.

In Jeronma the the companies have to pay the major retirement tax for their employees, the employees pay in their normal taxes a minor part. Everybody over 66 can be pensioned but to its allowed to continue working when the person wants to.

The pension calculation:

[ (Years of Fulltime work*) x (average Income/hour²) ] x (Pension Coefficient³) = Monthly Pension

Example:
1 Jeronma Yi ~ 1,6US$
( 42y x 10Yi ) x (1,7) = 714 Yi per month

that is the minimum pension but everybody gets from the state the self-security-retirement-income

Minimum Pension per monthSSR-Income
<450+1100yi
<750+800yi
<1050+500yi
<1350+200yi
>1550+100yi

So calc Minimum Pension + SSR income + additional payments e.g. invalidity pension etc. + "care steps" if needed.
People who need fosterage because of disabilities e.g. dementia, ablepsia will be classified into "Care-Steps".
There are three care steps
I: up to 30 hours a week health, mobility and household care. ca. +820Yi
II: up to65 hours a week health mobility and household care. ca. +1100Yi
III: up to 140 hours a week and more health mobility and household care. ca. +1500Yi

When a pensioner has to go in a nursing home or retirement home the compulsory state - health insurance will pay the rest of the charge when the person dont own more than 500yi after all payments for the home.

Retirement starts at age 65 and is voluntary. Pension is paid to the retired around 50 000 Anollas per month. Everyone gets the same pension but people who save early get more money in the end. We encourage people to save early instead of relying entirely on the government.

Retirement age varies between 55-65 years, depending on how physically demanding your work is. However, you are allowed to work for longer if you feel like it.

We have a compulsory national retirement scheme in which contributions from current workers fund benefits for current retirees. However, income above a certain level is not subject to these contributions, so the national system often cannot cover its expenses. When this happens, We either raise the retirement age or cut benefits rather than subject Our income to taxation.

Corporations in US-TOP also may establish pension programs for their employees. However, they are under no obligation to fund them and may discontinue them or alter their terms at any time without notice.

We therefore encourage individuals to save for their own retirements. We especially drive individual retirement funds to Our equity markets, which of course We control in such a way so as to make handsome profits for Us whether prices are rising or falling.

We are effectively immortal so we do not have such a policy.

But people usually will usually take a couple of decades off every century and live off their savings while pursuing goals that interest them.

There is no public retirement system.

The vast majority of citizens retire solely on private pensions and investments.

All corporations are required to put 10% of employee pay into a retirement scheme. Employees are vested after no more than thirty years' service. If an employee leaves the company, the his or her pension contributions are given to the CEO and board of directors.

Self employed individuals do whatever they want.

Families can get a supplemented income for relatives too frail to look after themselves. But generally speaking, we have pensions for most workers in Costa Fiero which is pegged at 4.5% of monthly income for civil servants/workers employed by state owned enterprises and 3.5% of monthly income for private workers.

It is part of Costa Fiero's Social Security system and acts as a reserve account for health insurance which is reimbursed by the state when used.

We have no national retirement policy other than for military personnel and other government employees. Everyone else is encouraged to save and invest from an early age, often beginning in elementary school.

Upon age 65, it becomes the sole responsibility of the state to ensure that you are looked after. You earn $319.23 a week, with no tax earned if you served for more than the minimum service time in the military.

Early retirement becomes an option at 55 years of age in which you receive half the benefits of the full retirement but a departure fee - people with private assets such as small businesses choose this

Full retirement may be take from age 62 onwards - the State is responsible for taking care of old people - most people in the union are given state allocated country home's at minimal fees - which keeps them in the calm of eurasian nature - they may engage in activities - these are termed as " Grandparent Village " settlements each has it's own hospital and other facilities - the state wants hard workers to enjoy after a life time of continuous struggle - life is pleasant and free of worries here - Old people even go on to start small cooperative societies in farming etc. which allows them to earn money - they are given a lot of freedom at this stage - at age 66 they may acquire a foreign nationality if they do so wish - most don't - Medical students often have to spend sessions here in order to train their patient integration skills - but care for them more or less.

Not like those old homes in the west , which are more or less trash cans for the elderly
