A Call to the Wild(Post-Apocalyptic, OOC, Open)

Humans, the most destructive animal on Earth, has killed itself off. It had started simply as a cure, but somewhere, something went wrong. People started dying in droves, and as the population dwindled, there seemed to be little hope as the bodies were piled into graves or burned. Those who were unfortunate to live through the plague were usually killed by wild animals or thieving gangs. The populations grew smaller and smaller until finally, everyone was gone. Buildings and roads now abandoned, the Earth seemed to take a small breath as it realized it would be scarred artificially no longer.

But the humans still left a legacy behind. They may not have tamed every animal, but they did their damned best to bend Mother Nature to their will.

No longer. Locks are rusty, doors are broken down, walls are climbed, and cages and toppled as the pets of the once alive humans now run free.

But it is not all fun and games. now these animals must survive in a harsh world where food does not come out of cans placed in silver dishes and water is not changed daily. There are no more warm laps and safely locked doors to hide behind now.

Will your group survive to see tomorrow, or will they become today's prey?

Surivial, Action, Adventure!

You get to control a group of animals in the game of survival. The decisions made could have lasting effects. The goal? Live, reproduce, and hope that you don't get sick. Will your group rise to the top of animal society, or will they all be killed in an attempt to survive in this new world?

Animals you may control: Just about any you can find in the United States, since that's where I plan of having the RP centered.

Zoo:
Monkeys
Zebras
dingos
hyenas
etc

your group/faction can be made up of one or more of these types of animals, if there isn't an animal on the list, ask and I'll see to adding it. Just keep in mind about how certain animals react to each other.

Animals will be able to 'speak' to each other, allowing the groups to forage allies, ask for favors, tell others to get lost...

Territories which you can live in are as follows, please be aware that more then one faction can share these areas, just be careful who you start with. You can even start with no area and lay claim to your territory as you go along.
Areas:

the forest surrounds the town to the north and east. The trees here are are usually thin and scrappy, with occasional grove of big oaks and pines. trrails weave their way through the forest that were once used by humans for walking.

Farmland surrounds the town to the south and west. Large swathes of land are covered in overgrown crops or fields that are stripped of their plant value. Every once in a while a tree was left in the middle of the feilds, but not many. trees often line the edge of farm property lines. Some of the barns and farmhouses are still standing, but that does not guarantee they are safe.

Once a great place for humans and their loveable pets, now its all abandoned houses, roads and cars. Finding clean water is often a problem and the trash and rotting food in the houses can attract diseased rodents or even larger predators from the forest. However, most of the houses are well built and could offer great protection against the elements.

The place where all the poor humans lived, looking worse then ever. Houses and businesses are jammed close together and not many humans liked walking here. Due to disrepair it is easier to get in and out of these buildings, and they provide convenient escapes such as fire ladders and roof tops you can run across. However dangerous pests such as rats already infest this place, and finding clean water here is a major problem as well.

Other Areas:

The Church is a place where humans use to meet every Sunday. Now the tapistries are in disrepair, the paint has chipped off the walls and the fountain water had long dried up, but this place is neutral, a great place for leaders to meet in peace. That does not mean blood has not been spilled here, but it is a great place to escape too.

Faction name: Sunrise Flock
Animal(s): Various pet birds (Macaws, African Grays, cockatiels, parakeets, etc.)
Faction Leader: Peach, Male Major Mitchell's Cockatoo
Leader Personality:Illegally traded as a pet, Peach broke free from the aviary where he was being kept. He is resourceful and a smooth talker, and tries to keep his promises best he can. Hates cats, loves dogs.
Territory: Area of the forest near town, a teall pine in a house back yard marks the main nesting area where the flock usually gathers
Bio: After Peach escaped his human's cage, he went about foraging for food from bird feeders and picking nuts with success that few former captive birds do. As he met more birds which had pecked, clawed, dug or broke out of their cages/outdoor aviaries, these birds tended to follow him, learning the tricks and tips to live off the land which they never really understood themselves. Now a large flock of former pet birds, they always look out for each other and are quick to attack any animal that seems to be threatening their nesting area where the first wild Sunrise birds will be born.
Extra: There are currently 20 macaws, 13 African grays, 30 various species of Cockatoos, over 100 cockatiels, and 97 parakeets from various aviaries and quite a few miscellaneous pet birds to make up the rest.

Faction name: Unified Shrewdness
Animal(s): Orangutangs, gorillas, various lemurs, chimpanzees, Bornean orangutan, bonobos.
Faction Leader: Darwin (Creative, I know), Male, one of these things
Leader Personality: One of the last of his kind, he was found and captured as a apart of the human's attempts to bring back his race. Once the humans stopped caring for him, he grew a tad worried. Eventually, he escaped from his zoo and wondered aimlessly for many days. He is intelligent and has even mastered sign language, a skill he taught to his fellow primates. On his travels he has encountered various other zoo predators and hates them all. (Hates Hyenas, Lions, and dingos neutral on everyone else)
Territory: The upper class town near the zoo has become a common treading ground for the primates.
Bio: Once the electrical locks failed at the zoo, all hell had broken loose, predators went after their prey and animals they had never seen before, some species went extinct that day. Not including Darwin, however, he had escaped the clutches of the zoo and had made it into the surrounding town, he managed to scavenge for some food before running into another primate such as him, then another, soon he had 100 followers who he taught what what he knew. They eventually reproduced, adding another 97 to the pack.

Personality: Mellow and very protective of his faction.

Bio: The Akeelonchon faction came about about a few years after the apocalypse happened, cats, dogs and other animals decided to help each other survive, so they set up the faction, it was only meant to be temporary but it became permanent.

Faction name: The Three Stories Band
Animal(s): Chimpanzees, exclusively, since social bonding with other animals stretches plausibility.
Faction Leader: Shaka, as the humans named him. In his tongue his name is Hands-Strong, the dominant male of the chimp band.
Leader Personality: A ruthless and intelligent beast, Hands-Strong is a survivor. After being taken from the wilds of Zambia for a breeding project he suborned the band that lived in the breeding project on the northern outskirts of the city via his strength, size, and appropriate use of cunning. Since the collapse of man this has continued, with the chimps fending for themselves in the nearby mature forest.
Territory: The northern Forest.
Bio: Humans died, chimps escaped through failures in enclosure, chimps inherit the earth.
Extra: The Three Stories Band contains thirty-eight adult chimps, twenty-two of which are breeding females, and twelve pre-adolescents.

Animal(s): (What animal(s) are in this group?) Hyenas, Dingos, Dogs, a scattering of Zebras/Horses and a pair of Cheetahs.
Faction Leader: (What animal are they and name.) Sand-Breath, Cheetah
Leader Personality: A opptunistic pragmatist, Sand-Breath is willing to do anything to survive and like most of his fellow packmates places his own survival above that of the group, but is willing to sacrifice himself to protect his mate, the other Cheetah in the group
Territory: (See Areas and describe where you territory is) The edge between the Farmland and Projects.
Bio: The Striped Fangs are a unusual group; originally formed from a mix of escaped Hyenas and Dingos followed a pair of Cheetahs into the Projects and settled in several abandoned buildings within. Over the next few months Sand-Breath installed himself as de-facto leader of the band and began scavenging and hunting out of the Projects for food when they found the Zebra and Horse herd. The group stalked the herd, picking off stragglers and protecting the herd from other predators.

Soon though the herds numbers dwindled, and the pack's primary food source began to run out. They ceased raiding it, and instead corralled it into a area of farmland from where the Fangs defended it in exchange for any of the Herd who die and the bodies of anything that attack the Herd. In effect, the Pack use the Herd as bait for other predators who they then kill.

Animal(s): The majority are domesticated dogs but there are also several cats, birds and even a few wolves
Faction Leader: Herman, a German Sheperd and an ex-police dog with nigh impeccable leadership skills who rules by cunning as well as strength
Leader Personality: As an ex-police dog he is capable in combat but is not aggressive in nature; instead using his talents to protect others. Despite not being as intelligent as other species within the area, he is not unknown to use tact and diplomacy to solve situations however, his servile instinct further conflicts with his status as leader.
Territory: They reside in the downtown area, around the police station and, as most of them were once pets, they share a mutual relationship with the upper class animals - often bearing the brunt of hostilities from the more wild animals from the zoo.
Bio: Herman and his fellow police dogs were utilised more and more by the police force to quell riots; as the number of officers dwindled the number of dogs increased. When humanity eventually became extinct Herman and his comrades were veterans of numerous civil incursions and were able to secure the downtown police station with ease. When news of it's safety spread throughout the animal kingdom, the weaker species began to trickle through the doors of the large building. Herman established himself as leader by successfully defending their home when the previous alpha died and they have prospered, despite being regularly attacked, since.

Animal(s): Foxes,Cats (Both Domesticated and Feral),Puma's/Cougars,Lynxes,Leopards,Some Chimps and other Monkeys, A Few Macaws and an Elephant.
Faction Leader: Dual Rule between, Sky Urban A Sneaky and Ambitious Leader and Panthero a wise old yet strong-wiled Panther.
Leader Personality: Sky is Smart and lived his life for the most part in a clearing in the Woods while Panthero was born in Captivity yet Released when was a Teenager. Both hate Wild Birds and Love "People" (Monkeys).
Territory: The Eastern end of the woods (Clear to Decently Covered) and the Western Projects and the South Side of the Zoo.
Bio: Both Sky and Panthero lead different gangs of Foxes and Cats each but merged to attack the Cities population of birds. Worked with the Chimps and Elephants out similar ideas on "Law".The Macaws are slaves.
Extra: Are Sparta like in many ways.

Leader Personality:Will to anything for his group though he prefers to use diplomacy.He is gentle but fierce when he needs to.
Territory: Anywhere that there is food and clean water.
Bio: The older deer of the group were in a herd before the humans disappeared and the Squirrels just followed them after the disappearence of Humans. The Pigs joined when the group went past a farm in no time the pigs became feral that could survive on thier own.The Foxes escaped from the zoo and the group found them half dead and allowed them to feed on the pests and dead of the group.

Leader Personality:Humble, secretive, mysterious, reserved, compassionate, wise, collected, calculative

Territory: The Sturgeons where never slaved under the humans and always retained a sense of independence, they live in a deep, but small lake in the center of the forest. This lake is surrounded by beautiful forests, and for along time has been the dispute of many groups. They Sturgeon have always remained at the bottom waiting out the disputes so that they could surface again. Once a little salamander informed them that the humans where gone, they have been trekking upriver through caves at the bottom of the lake and outlets spewing from its sides.

Bio: The Sturgeon Republic is an ancient entity. Formed by the chieftains of the Twelve Clans in a desperate attempt to repulse a Pike invasion the Republic has withstood disasters of enormous proportions such as the First, Second and Third Pike Wars, where a coalition of Pike and Musk attempted to drive the Sturgeon into even deeper water, the Great Plague (caused by human pollution) and illegal overfishing bu Humans, but the Sturgeon have survived and are ready to make a comeback.

Extra:I know playing as the Sturgeon is not reasonable and would exclude me from gameplay a bit, but I thought it would be really cool to dithis RP with the versify marine taste.
