Polandball in your Country

Postby Pavonistade » Mon Jan 13, 2014 12:05 am

In Polandball comics, countries are usually represented by a circle with their respective flags on them. Some countries are shaped differently - for example, Israel is shown as a cube. Anglophone countries speak perfect English, while non-Anglophone countries speak Engrish. More info can be found here.

What is the popularity of Polandball?
According to meme analysts and surveys, Polandball is slightly more popular than other memes. It was more popular in the past, but its popularity downgraded to a negligible level today.

What is your average citizen's view on Polandball?
Pavonistadians simply view the meme as simple entertainment with contents not to be taken seriously or too seriously. Pavonistadians would sometimes enjoy some Polandball comics, but generally they would read other popular comics.

What is your government's view on Polandball? Does the meme impact your government's policies (e.g. ban Polandball)?
The Pavonistadian Government and any governments in Pavonistade have not commented on the meme and had refused to do so. The governments also refused to comment on any and all memes that appeared and would appear.

Is your country represented in Polandball? If so, when does your country usually appear and in what affairs are they usually involved in?
Pavonistade is represented with a character named Pavonistadeball, containing the Pavonistadian triple (black, red, blue), a white triangle, and a yellow star. Pavonistade is shown bragging about its economy and popular culture, arguing with the Ocelot Isles about Ocelotian independence, and being a cannibal (referring to common cannibalism of the Pavonistadian past). He occasionally argues with others about cannibalism and which economy/culture is the best, but eventually Pavonistade gets along with others. He usually appears in international issues and territorial disputes with the Ocelot Isles but also appears in non-major affairs, such as competitions. In historical affairs (e.g. War for the New Colonies), characters with past Pavonistadian flags are used.
Image
Below is an example of a comic called Pavonistade and "Friends," containing Pavonistade, its states, and the Ocelot Isles
Image

This comic includes a map of the Ocelot Isles and Pavonistade. Here, Pavonistade is depicted as a cannibal as he is holding a skewer with a half-consumed Canada. It features the following, from left to right:

Ocelot Isles (orange ball)
Western Pavonistade (white ball with blue dots)
Canada (obvious)
Pavonistade (obvious)
Capital State (gray ball)
Central State (white-yellow ball with black star)
North Pavonistade (red-white ball with "shield")
Eastern Islands (blue ball with green-yellow-red eyes and holding a box)
Toloupum Sector (multicolored ball holding sunglasses)

We are highly dismissive of Poland and memes, which is why Polandball is banned and everyone attempting to recreate it is executed.

This nation does not reflect my RL views.

What is the popularity of Polandball? Polandball is the leading meme in the nation. Since its creation, it has completely dominated the memes. As such, it is nicknamed the "King of the Memes."
What is your average citizen's view on Polandball? Thinks it's funny, and much better than other comics.
What is your government's view on Polandball? Does the meme impact your government's policies (e.g. ban Polandball)? The Marsisian Government loved it so much, that it replaced other comics in the newspapers.
Is your country represented in Polandball? If so, when does your country usually appear and in what affairs are they usually involved in? Marsisian is usually represented by using the Marsisian Standard, the flag right now. He is extremely patriotic, hates communism, socialism, imperialism, and fascism too. He is normally found arguing with the former leader of the Soviet Union, Russia, and almost always takes sides with the United States.

Depicting Polandball with Russian, Chinese, Kazakh or Kyrgyz flags is illegal, since the minorities we contain from these nations tend to use Polandballs to ferment dissent.

What is your average citizen's view on Polandball? That it is an extremely funny comic.
What is your government's view on Polandball? Does the meme impact your government's policies (e.g. ban Polandball)? Of course not. The government has an officially favorable position on it.
Is your country represented in Polandball? If so, when does your country usually appear and in what affairs are they usually involved in? Yes, Unolia ball is usually wreaking havoc or selling something. It is usually protrayed as a socially awkward but lovable trouble maker.

What is the popularity of Polandball? Fairly. It's not viewed positively by the older population, but the younger and young adult population find it enjoyable.
What is your average citizen's view on Polandball? Positive. Although ones that portray Everia in a negative light are shunned (either voluntary or of fear of retribution from the Gestapo)
What is your government's view on Polandball? Does the meme impact your government's policies (e.g. ban Polandball)? The Everian government promote the Polandball idea. However, it does ban the usage of Polandball that portrays Everia or it's allies in a negative fashion.
Is your country represented in Polandball? If so, when does your country usually appear and in what affairs are they usually involved in? The Everian Polandball is usually represented by the National flag in a circular manner with two smaller white circle as "eyes". The Everianball is a militaristic nationalist that is generally angry most of the time, but tends to be nicer towards its allies (Unless it's drunk).

What is the popularity of Polandball? Most people are just learning about it.
What is your average citizen's view on Polandball? Those who do know it are polarized on the love-hate scale.
What is your government's view on Polandball? Does the meme impact your government's policies (e.g. ban Polandball)? It isn't seen as much of a threat, though it's sometimes used to talk trash about various member of the royal family or elected officials and some images of it are presented in protests.
Is your country represented in Polandball? If so, when does your country usually appear and in what affairs are they usually involved in?
Image
She is mostly in comics about her old shames (Her old gender roles that were just human gender roles reversed, her Fedg'undg'ia renaissance crusades, old politicians, etc...), comics were she stalks human countryballs as "research" for "anthropology", comics about her relationship between Israel, Italy, and China (as an "imaginary friend"), space comics, comics about her homesickness, and comics about her social awkwardness around humans.

Her personality is rather much like an old lady, she is also heavily interested in human culture (even going so far in the comics to hide in a bush or some other hiding place and watching her subject-of-the-day from there), doesn't understand human socialization, thus constantly takes notes when she observes the human countries, she's rather homesick, (though she doesn't like to admit it) is a gambler (or at least was), she is rather devout, and is afraid of chickens and will say things like "I-it's alright to just invade my land, i-if you want!" when she sees one. Her arguments and agreements with human nations are mostly one-sided (as in she talks to a nation with the nation not even realizing she did so).

What is the popularity of Polandball? It is a very popular medium of political satire. Many newspapers have sections dedicated to Polandball cartoons
What is your average citizen's view on Polandball? Very high, it is viewed as an artistically minimal and versatile method of achieving social commentary.
What is your government's view on Polandball? Does the meme impact your government's policies (e.g. ban Polandball)? The State and the Party have actually endorsed it. The Proletariat's view can be promulgated and conversation on political and economic matters is made easier for many.
Is your country represented in Polandball? If so, when does your country usually appear and in what affairs are they usually involved in? Yes. Tloxipeuhcaxolalball (or 'Xolalball for short) is represented as tolerant and laid back, but also industrious, willing to help any in need, and join on the side of the underdog against an oppressor.

What is the popularity of Polandball?
Pre-war internet culture has seen a return in recent years, particularly "memes". Among these is Polandball (though the character of Polandball is not referred to as such, given that Poland was annexed into the Mechanocracy in 2031), which is steadily growing in popularity alongside other memes.

What is your average citizen's view on Polandball?
As with most memes, most people view it as silly entertainment for adolescent youths.

What is your government's view on Polandball? Does the meme impact your government's policies (e.g. ban Polandball)?
The government adopts the same policy with Polandball as it does with other sources of entertainment: as long as nobody gets hurt, they don't care.

Is your country represented in Polandball? If so, when does your country usually appear and in what affairs are they usually involved in?
There is, as a matter of fact, a Mechanocracyball (seen below). This character is typically depicted as a drunken, monotonous-voiced belligerent, reflecting the stereotype of Great Russians and the Machine Race as well as our imperialist values and goals of world domination. He most commonly gets into bar fights with Canadaball and Greenlandball, usually winning because he is much larger than them both.

Trefeqiaball is appears arguing with or laughing at Estovelandball and Letenia or having Trediaball beg money to Trefeqia or getting annoyed by Fesecoball claiming independence. He often chews on ice (like most Trefeqians) and passes out after drinking too much letemǽ, a caffeinated alcoholic drink. Sometimes Trefeqiaball is represented by it's republics, Centrefeball, New Junctionball, Fesecoball, Casetioball, and Afdeniaball, who all act similar to a disfunctional family.

STRONK

What is the popularity of Polandball?
In TS, "Poland Ball" is called "NationStates Balls". These are the number one syndicated political cartoons in TurtleShroom and are a roaring success. "Stronk" is one of the most humorous slang terms in the country right now. Many newspapers and newsreals feature prominent "Poland Ball" comics, both from international and domestic submitters and syndicates.

What is your average citizen's view on Polandball?
A curse-free version of "Poland Ball" is used to teach our youth about history, politics, and affairs of distant nations, both in the Land of Power and around the world. They are also the best way to write a political cartoon and show up at least once a week in the newspaper. Everyone, from the Kings down, seem absolutely in love with "Poland Ball". It's considered the most effective poilitical cartoon since Yellow Journalism reared its ugly head in RL USA in the twenties.

What is your government's view on Polandball? Does the meme impact your government's policies?
Since the government doesn't control what is in education, they do not have control over it or its impact. The only control the state has over "Poland Ball" comics is to remove curses to make it viewable for all ages.

Is your country represented in Polandball? If so, when does your country usually appear and in what affairs are they usually involved in?
