like naruto or bleach or whatever for girls.
people are gonna come in and claim all fanbases are bad at some point which is just not a good point to make because even if all fanbases are bad the hetalia one is especially awful.

education for those incapable of education. your example is "ROME BECOMES ITALY" which uhOroloo wrote:1) Eh, it's somewhat educational. Like, Rome being the father of Italy and a few other things like that.
how is that a joke? that's just "generic anime archtype, but it's funny because it's a country roflmaoxd"Oroloo wrote:2) The joke, it's flying waaaay over your head.
and most anime characters arent physical depictions of entire national groups???Oroloo wrote:3) If you've paid attention, most anime characters are white as fuck. Hetalia is barely that unique.
it's not that great so whatever.Oroloo wrote:4) I guess we should all hate Blackadder Goes Forth for all the WWI jokes.
Oroloo wrote:5) The Internet is for everyone. I've seen art work paying "tribute" to actual mass-murderers. If it's the Yaoi fanart on Deviantart that's bothering you, I honesty envy you.

black adder was also kinda respectful though, it's comedy was at the irrationality brought about by war and the fucking ending was kind of a "wow dark" moment.Oroloo wrote:5) The Internet is for everyone. the internet is for everyone.
and that does not mean everyone deserves respect or consideration for their shitty opinions and works.

1) Uh, I didn't say Rome became Italy, I said Rome was supposedly Italy's father. Which is kind of correct.
2) Source for your claim?
3) And how many animes have been set in Japam where everyone is rediculously white? That trope applies fucking everywhere.
4) While that's true, there's also a lot of controversy over the statements it made. Some folks don't believe a comedy should be paying tribute to men that died (beliefs I disagree with, but still there). There's also the fact that some folks didn't like how it portrayed Field Marshal Haig, as he actually did care for his men's lives and wasn't an insensitive idiot. Hetalia probably wanted to avoid that stuff.
5) When did I say that everyone deserves respect? I'm just saying that you guys making a big deal about how much you hate a fandom on the internet is silly.

it's kind of correct if you have an education of history that comes from word of mouth (of ignorant people)Oroloo wrote:1) Uh, I didn't say Rome became Italy, I said Rome was supposedly Italy's father. Which is kind of correct.
no, don't start, i'm not going to go rewatch that trash to give you a run down of its comedic retardation.Oroloo wrote:2) Source for your claim?
i dont know if you've noticed but fairly often anime characters don't even physically resemble human beings.Oroloo wrote:3) And how many animes have been set in Japam where everyone is rediculously white? That trope applies fucking everywhere.
no i think the creators were too clever to actually put anything of weight in their program - much easier to sell when it's substanceless rubbish you can sell to a bunch of deviant art users and so called history nerds.Oroloo wrote:4) While that's true, there's also a lot of controversy over the statements it made.
