Only the Flying Squads are provided with vehicles to get to the scene of a serious crime or a crisis quickly. Of course, "quickly" in Fatatatutian traffic would translate to "slowly" in most other places. In fact, there have been cases where Flying Squads got out and walked because they were in a hurry.

Most police forces favour a 500cc Mitsubishi or Fiat built in about 1960 because spare parts are readily available.

the way it works is, the police are run by towns and states, and then, when things get way out of hand, the national police. the city police cars will have the town flag or seal on it, the state police cars have the state flag or seal, and the national police cars have the national seal on the hood, and the national flag on the sides.
