The Night of Monday, July 4, 2011, Buckingham Palace, Londonson, United Kingdom of Great Bristain and Ireland

King William V, by the Grace of God, King of the United Kingdom of Great Bristain and Ireland, and of the British Dominions and territories thereunto belonging, Emperor of Sanegeta, and Defender of the Faith, was sleeping away happily in his bed, in the royal chambers. For the King, and for the country and much of the court, the night of July 4 was just another boring night to a usual day. However, it was not casual, and instead was very active indeed. Events that would occur on this night would change the destiny of Bristain, her people, and her colonies. Nobody from the King downwards, would even suspect what was about to happen. Except one princess and her entourage of more then eighty major supporters and thousands of rank-and-file adherents, many of whom were major government, parliamentary, and military officials.

That princess was Christina, the younger sister of William and the Princess Royal of the United Kingdom of Great Bristain and Ireland and the British dominions and territories thereunto belonging, as well as the Imperial Princess of Sanegeta. The 26-year-old King was still unmarried, which was why his sister, and not a eldest daughter, was the Princess Royal. But anyways, Princess Christina was a intelligent, kind, and pretty woman. She was 25 years old, just a year younger then the King. The princess spoke numerous languages fluently besides her native English, including French, German, Italian, and Sanegtan (the language of Sanegeta, Bristain's wealthiest and most populous colony). She was well-read in literature and had expertise at fields ranging from history and government to mathematics.

The princess was however, ambitious. She craved for the Crown, but not merely with semi-constitutional power, but with absolute power. She felt angered about the royal line of succession, which favored males over females. And she was disappointed by the arrogant and all-mighty personality of her brother, who voiced private disgust about his "commoner subjects", although maintaining public respect and love for them for the sake of appearances. Princess Christina, while craving absolute power, also wanted to be seen as actually caring for her subjects.

Beginning in June 2009, the month that her older brother ascended to the throne, Christina began assembling a group of supporters and allies who would assist her in a future attempt to gain unchallenged power. This group included a former Speaker of the House of Commons, the Minister of Health and Human Services, the Minister of Transportation, former Prime Minister Tony Blair, and the Chief of the Imperial General Staff. Most of the group were highly placed in the government or military. They shared visions of the state wielding absolute power, similar to those of Christina's, and were lured by the promise of land and money from the Princess if she were to succeed. They also despised the king's personality and his overt manner. The group amounted to eighty main supporters and thousands of minor adherents in both Bristain and her colonies. For two years, Princess Christina and her group carefully planned on how they would gain power, all the while keeping it secret. Finally, they were ready.

As the King and most of his court were sleeping, the first major stages took place. 8:00 PM at night saw the first moves. At that time, bodyguards loyal to the Princess planted in the residences of the Speaker of the House of Commons (Sir John Burrow), the Speaker of the House of Lords (Lady Helen Hayman, Baroness of Hetsford), Prime Minister Sir Robert Charleston, the Chief Justice of the United Kingdom, and other parliamentary officials and nobles, took these figures hostage and secretly lead them to Buckingham Palace. Then at 9:00 further action occurred. Bodyguards planted in the residences of the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Lord Winston Galveston), the Chief of the Imperial Defense Council, and the First Lord of the Admiralty took these figures hostage and also secretly lead them to Buckingham Palace. At about 10:00 government, judicial, military, intelligence, and parliamentary officials aligned to the Princess secured the loyalty of most of their subordinates and began taking secret measures to insure a transfer of power. And finally at 11:00 PM, the main event began to occur:

William V was snoozing away happily in his chambers, when suddenly movement occurred outside the door of his chamber. This awoke the King. What the bloody hell is going on? the King murmured to himself. He was about to rise from his bed to see about the ruckus when the door to his main chamber suddenly flung widely open. Soon about twelve bodyguards, the Chief of the Imperial General Staff, and Princess Christina herself burst into the room, heading immediately towards his bedroom. William looked in fear at the crowd, and then noticed his sister amongst them. The bodyguards, the Princess, and the Staff Chief all had venomous and ambitious looks on their faces. King William then barked to his sister "Christina, what the hell are you doing?".

The Princess then came forward. She was dressed relatively plainly, in a simple white shirt and jeans, which was unusual for a princess. However, she dressed this way because she believed the event was simply a casual process. She pointed at her older brother, the King, and said, in a casual manner similar to what she was wearing "Well William, for the past two years I have been making plans to take the Crown for myself, for several factors which I am not going to even bother to try to explain.....It is just, that I want what is best for Bristain and for the Colonial Empire, but in order to provide that, I need to have the Crown, in a different fashion, with absolute power." She then said, smiling in a manner that would be seductive to other men "But of course, I will make sure you are safe, once I have the Crown." William said "Nonsense! Guards, arrest the Princess for treason and conspiracy against the Crown and the government of the United Kingdom." The bodyguards however, laughed and said "Your Majesty, our loyalty is to her, and her only." Princess Christina then turned the King's order on his own head and instructed the guards "Arrest His former Majesty." The guards did as told. William tried to struggle, barking that he was the King of Bristain, but his efforts were futile. He was then lead to the conference room where the other officials previously mentioned (totaling about fifty persons) were being held hostage by over a hundred bodyguards and the Ministers of Health and Transportation.

The officials all called the Princess a traitor and vowed they would do nothing to harm their country. Princess Christina however again smiled somewhat seductively and said "If you will not sign this declaration, then you will suffer horrors beyond imagining....." She did not actually intend to torture them, for she was against that, but to use psychological methods to force them into submission. The officials, fearing torture or even death, said, in a scared manner "We will do what you ask." The Princess then thrust before them the following one-paragraph document, written in her own handwriting:

"In the name of His Majesty's Government, of the United Kingdom of Great Bristain and Ireland, of the British Dominions and colonies thereunto belonging, and of the Imperial Colony of Sanegeta therefore, we, the officials of the Executive Government, His Majesty's Armed Forces, and the Parliament of the United Kingdom, formally renounce William V, by the Grace of God, King of United Kingdom of Great Bristain and Ireland, of the British Dominions and colonies thereunto belonging, and the Emperor of Sanegeta, as King and Colonial Emperor of the above, and absolve all of his powers, claims, property, and privileges, and we confer the rights and titles, in all form, and all the honor, property, privileges, and other powers of the Royal and Imperial Crown on Her Royal Highness Christina Windsor, the Princess Royal of the United Kingdom, and grant her absolute power over the United Kingdom and all her colonies, dominions, and possessions, and over the British subjects and colonial subjects therefore, overriding the Parliament and the Court, and also the sole right to immediately declare a formal elevation of rank and honor of the said British Royal and Imperial Crown.

All of the officials quickly signed the declaration, but the King was hesitant. He refused to sign a document "slandering his birthright and honor" and called his sister "a shameful traitor". However, after threats and intimidation by the Princess and the bodyguards, he finally signed, and affixed his own personal copy of the Royal Seal to the document, as well a postscript to "let this be carried out without intrusion". The princess of course, jumped with joy at the declaration and immediately carried out her remaining plans. The other conspirators who were not in the room at the time were informed by encrypted e-mail and messengers about the declaration, and ordered to execute the "final stage" of the plan. They did as told, and immediately drafted official documents confirming the change. Throughout the night, however, the government continued to operate and act as if nothing happened.

But finally, at 7:00 AM, the following morning, it was officially announced on the news, especially on BBC and on the Royal News Networks, about all the changes. To the shock of the British population, and to their utter surprise and disbelief, the following proclamation was issued by a hastily convened session of the Royal Privy Council and all major Parliamentary, judicial, military, and government officials. The proclamation was also issued simultaneously in all British colonies, military bases, and possessions:

"WHEREAS due to the nature and will of the Lord our God, unfortunate events occurred that have seriously harmed the ability of William the Fifth, by the Grace of God King of the United Kingdom of Great Bristain and Ireland, of the British Dominions and possessions thereunto, and Emperor of Sanegeta, whereof, to effectively carry out the duties, powers, and privileges of His Royal Majesty's said position, so that thus a new ruler is needed, but this time with absolute authority, in order to maintain firm control over all his honorable subjects, and that also, a Kingdom which controls a vast colonial Empire needs to also be in, form, a Empire in itself, to provide for great symbolic and effective means of contact and conduct with other nations.

WE therefore, the honorable Councilors and Members of His Royal Majesty's Privy Council, the officials of the honorable Houses of the Lords Temporal and Spiritual and of the Commons in the Parliament assembled, and the officials of His Majesty's justice system, as well the structure of His Majesty's military command, do now hereby with one Voice and one Tongue proclaim Her Royal Highness, the High and Mighty Princess Christina Windsor, the Princess Royal of this United Kingdom and her Dominions, and the Imperial Princess of the Colony of Sanegeta, as "Christina the First, Empress and Autocrat of the United Empire of Bristain and Ireland, and of the other British Dominions and dependencies therefore, Empress of the Imperial Colony of Sanegeta, Honorable and most Royal Commander of Her Imperial Majesty's Armed Forces, and Defender of the Faith of the Church of Angland." And we make known, acting in obligation to the legal authority of Her Majesty's Government and most loyal Parliament therefore, that she shall reign with absolute, unlimited, and unbridled authority, in all manners of state, including domestic, foreign, and military concerns, for life, which shall be enjoyed in full by her successors, in title, position, privilege and power; and that she shall be addressed not as Her Royal Majesty, but as Her Imperial Majesty. Her Imperial Majesty shall remain above the law, and shall be subject to no-one but God; and we beseech God to bless Her Imperial Majesty Christina the First, the Empress and Autocrat of Bristain and Ireland, to reign with long and happy years over us."

The population of Bristain and her possessions were shocked. Their King, a semi-constitutional monarch, had been replaced with a Empress, a absolute monarch. Their country had been converted from a United Kingdom to a United Empire overnight. Most people, however, quickly overtook their qualms and generally supported the new Empress Christina. The Empress promised to reign with "concern and care for her subjects". In the meantime, the Empress secretly ordered her brother, the former King, exiled to Sholai, a isolated village in the hot and humid British colony of Rebecca. However, she made clear instructions for him to be well-treated and taken care of.

Bristain's path had been changed radically. It now only awaited for other nations to respond.

The Empress was bathing herself in the private bathroom of the Royal Chambers, feeling comfortable to the soap and warm water of the circular, but relatively, large bathtub, listening to the classical music of artists such as Beethoven and Mozart, and just sighing in contentment when a servant knocked politely on the door and said "Your Majesty, I have some news for you." Christina heard the servant and said "Yes?" The servant then continued after gaining approval for what he had to say "In Kyotong, Syvorji, the former possession of this honorable country between 1968 and 1997, as a result of the British-Syvorjian Junta War, which as is known resulted in the restoration of the current Syvorjian monarchy to power, a militia has gathered and are making plans to try to restore the former King to power..." The Empress then interrupted him, bursting out laughing, and said "A group within another nation, within Kyotong, wanting to try to restore my brother?" The servant said "Yes it is true Your Majesty." Christina then sighed and said "Well, for now I don't consider it a threat, but if something flares up amongst the militia in Syvorji, then I will react." The servant then said "Yes, ma'am," and left the royal chambers outside the royal bathroom.

It was true that there were those within Bristain, in particular, who remained loyal to the deposed King. A group of William V supporters, the League of Royal Democracy, was secretly established, receiving the letter from Andonam and making plans to eventually act against Christina. However, for now, the League, and other groups like it, would remain underground, expressing public loyalty to the Empress while making plans to bring William V back to power as a semi-constitutional monarch. In the royal chambers, Christina was finishing her use of the bathroom when the same servant knocked on the door of the bathroom. The Empress said "Yes, what it is it?" The servant said, in a somewhat nervous but polite voice "Your Majesty, a nation called Andonam has issued a declaration condemning your imperial Person and supporting the restoration of the former King." The Empress then thought for a minute on this, and then said "Summon the Prime Minister for me to my chambers in another forty minutes. It is time I take effective action to reorganize the government." The servant said "As you wish, Your Majesty" and then left the chambers, carrying out her order.

IC: Empress Christina, no later after sending a summons for the Prime Minister, learned that the militia had boarded a plane near Kyotong bound to Bristain, to attempt to land in Londonson, depose her, and bring William V back from exile as King. This immediately angered Christina. She then convened a meeting of the entire Privy Council, or at least those ministers who had participated in the coup (for the non-participants had either been imprisoned or exiled on her orders immediately upon her ascension). After the Privy Council was convened, Christina looked firmly at all the ministers, and said "If the Syvorjian militia want a fight, they will get it." She then expressed her anger over their "mission" against her and directed that their plane be immediately intercepted. The Empress then sent the 1st Colonial Fleet, with 12 battleships and 20 cruisers, along with 40 fighters and bombers, to intercept the transport plane. The fleet and air squadron set off from Madras, Sanegeta, and quickly intercepted the transport vessel, demanding its surrender. Within Bristain, the Empress decided to tolerate the Syvorjian immigrant opponents for now, but would react swiftly if they tried to use violent means against her.

The Empress, upon receiving the above letter, then sent this crafted response to the Greotan President:

Your Excellency,

I shall provide you with information on what happened to the former King, my brother William the Fifth. His former Majesty suffered a serious mental breakdown that would have impaired his ability to reign and govern over Bristain and her dominions; also, the Government firmly believed that a new change was needed to bolster the prestige of Bristain and her colonies, in order to increase her strength and status. Thus, this is why I have ascended to the throne and why a formal change of government occurred. And yes I shall honor the treaty that was signed between Bristain and Greto during his rule. As to the former King's location, he is at a mental institution in Shalom, Rebecca, one of the British Colonial Empire's primer mental hospitals.

Empress Christina, upon receiving the letter from Osthia, became somewhat uneasy. She knew about Osthia's firm record on the defense of human rights and on its willingness to go to war if a coup or violent event occurred in another nation. The Empress dearly wanted to maintain peaceful relations with Osthia. Bristain had after all signed a non-aggression pact with that nation. As such, she sent Emperor Arathor I the following letter:

Circumstances arose that caused the abdication of my brother, the former King William the Fifth's, abdication from the throne, that were beyond our control. The King suffered a severe mental breakdown, perhaps from strains that he has had throughout much of his life. I myself have witnessed his irrational and harmful behavior. As such, the Government and myself believed that he needed to abdicate, for his condition would have harmed proper government. And also, the reason the United Kingdom was transformed into the United Empire, and I was placed as Empress with absolute power, was to provide greater stability for the far-flung dominions of Bristain. I of course will respect human rights as had been respected under the previous form of Government. I hope this answers all of your questions.

The milita, whose official name was the British Kyotong Colonial Armed Forces, or the BKCAF soon boarded a passenger plane, heading to Bristain. The BKCAF, and the Syvorjin Self-Defense Forces were the only ones to carry weapons on planes, and immediately, at the Kyotong International Airport, built on a manmade island, outside British waters at the time, today, linked by a tunnel, the entire BKCAF boarded a flight to Londonson.

Once they were on board, they were hoping to see one goal, to restore King William I, try the Empress for corruption in a military tribunal, and then after elections, leave. It was easy as 1, 2 and 3.

IC: Empress Christina, no later after sending a summons for the Prime Minister, learned that the militia had boarded a plane near Kyotong bound to Bristain, to attempt to land in Londonson, depose her, and bring William V back from exile as King. This immediately angered Christina. She then convened a meeting of the entire Privy Council, or at least those ministers who had participated in the coup (for the non-participants had either been imprisoned or exiled on her orders immediately upon her ascension). After the Privy Council was convened, Christina looked firmly at all the ministers, and said "If the Syvorjian militia want a fight, they will get it." She then expressed her anger over their "mission" against her and directed that their plane be immediately intercepted. The Empress then sent the 1st Colonial Fleet, with 12 battleships and 20 cruisers, along with 40 fighters and bombers, to intercept the transport plane. The fleet and air squadron set off from Madras, Sanegeta, and quickly intercepted the transport vessel, demanding its surrender. Within Bristain, the Empress decided to tolerate the Syvorjian immigrant opponents for now, but would react swiftly if they tried to use violent means against her.

OOC: Perhaps we can do a North Cyprus-like situation, as in the Syvorjin military takes over where most of the Syvorjin's live, and declare a puppet state.

IC: Either way, the Syvorjin Airlines refused to surrender, arguing that the Kyotong Militia was not on. On the plane, the Militia deliberately camoflauged themselves, as to try and not get detected, especially by hiding through electrical insulators.

Princess Silvier, future Tsarina Silvier IV, sat in the Imperial Sitting Room, flicking through a hardback book called On Kylarnatia by Dr. Alex Fox. Just a moment ago she had just been visited by Lord Fredrick Constantine, who was at present heading the Provisional Government, which would follow her fathers ideals until she came to power in two months time. As it was now known throughout the world, her father and mother, Tsar Kain II and Empress Eadion, had been killed in combat recently and therefore she was in the middle of preparing their funeral, and it wouldn't be long before she gave birth, explaining the large gap towards her coronation. However, she was still able to override any decision the Pervisional Government made, and in some decisions they had to ask her permission, so she was at current already Head of State. Taught by her father, she already knew the ethics of running a country, and an expansive empire, so she was ready to take the responsibility. She knew that, at first, the foreign community would doubt her talents, but they'd soon realise that she was more than capable.

Then, a knock came on the door. Drawing a heavy sigh, obviously not being able to ignore it, she put the bookmark once again in the book and sat upright, the 'baby bump' as it was nicknamed, sticked out. She smiled as she saw it, knowing that her pride and joy was finishing its development inside. Another knock coming on the door, she stapped back to attention as she faced the door, to see who would enter. "Come in." A sly, skinny brunette women stepped in, a black suite with skirt instead of trousers the simple clothing she wore. In her hand she carried an envolope, stamped with the mark of the Kylarnatian Imperial Foreign Affairs Office, which was deeper inside the capital. Silvier noticed it and gestured for her to come and give it to her, the two exchanging warm smiles as the envolope was passed across, and Silvier read through the contents. A slight role of the eyes came at one moment, though soon she tilted her head side-to-side, which usually meant by her standards that she was generally even on the subject that the contents discussed.

The contents in this case, was a report on the rise of a new absolute power. A lone Princess in the Kingdom of Bristain and Ireland, the same age as Silvier, had overthrown her brother in power and become an absolute empress of the newly formed empire. Now, if Silvier and her people knew anything, it was that these sorts of people didn't last long, as an overthrow into an absolute monarchy wasn't usually the best system to replace the last with in the case of a revolution, as it was more of a foundation ideology, and would evolve as the nation progressed and would either fall or continue to rise, for better or worst. Now, the Imperium Antiquus rose for the better, though they doubted this development for a country like Bristain and Ireland - atleast from what it seemed.

However, Kylarnatia was a nation of progression and support, a charitable arm as it were to the world. Therefore, after some brief thought, guided the women over to her desk where the pulled out a piece of scrap paper from her fathers former 'scrap drawer' as he proclaimed it, and noted stuff down on the paper. She then signed it, and handed it to the women. "Give this to Fredrick, immediatly and have him write a notice to this new empire. The notes on this piece of paper should give him guidence on what I wish him to say, though I entrust he can make something just as good." The women nodded as she took it and headed for the door, as Silvier headed back to her seat to relax and continue looking through her book, but before the women left completely, Silvier stopped her one last time. "Oh, and please tell him I do not wish to be disturbed by him anymore until guests begin arriving - and simply have him forward all the attendence confirmations to me, and I'll send my wished responses back to him so he can issue them." The women nodded once again to her supreme leader, smile still on her face.

On Behalf of the Heir to the Throne, I, Lord Fredrick Constantine of the Provisional Government, wish to address you today with the most heartfelt of introductions. Her Imperial Highness, Princess Silvier, wishes to congradulate you on wishing to take on such a task. However, she'd like to address the matter of how difficult it is to hold one of these positions. After all, not everyone in your honourary realms is going to believe with what you crave for, so to speak, but I'm sure you can pretty much let them pass with no ill will for the most part, as in the end they're just people trying to speak their minds.

It's better first to address how, perhaps, it is true that an absolute monarchy is not the ideology to replace an old order with in a transition of power such as you have done yours. Absolute Monarchys are the sorts who lay the foundations for a nation then progress, either rising or falling, the don't become inbetween. Though we're not saying you're incapable of being an absolute monarch, this just means that you'll not be recieving the greatest amount of responses from the international community, if you're able to stick it without lashing back, then you're in a good spot I suppose.

Secondly, with great power comes great responsibility. Yes, true you will be gaining some help, though all mistakes will come apon you from now on. No minister or official can truely be blamed now by your people and most of all critics because you're in absolute power, and you should have been able to stop the matter immediatly. Unfair, true, but it happens and we know from experience with other nations and even our own. Her Imperial Highness has quoted to me through a note; "Shame the job doesn't come with a job description, hmmm?".

Thirdly, it is imperitive to realise that all this pressure can take its toll. You're the same age as Her Imperial Highness, as she says it is imperitive to as quick as you can; find a consort. A consort, defined by herself, is someone who is there in loving support, to share the monarchs burden. A good example of this would be her parents, Tsar Kain II and Empress-Consort Eadion, who have recently passed on due to dieing in battle. Your nation is free to send and envoy if they wish, though they do not have to seeing as we've only just interacted.

Finally, being Absolute doesn't mean there can't be freedom and democracy for your people. I'm sure that is easy for you to understand, as you can look at our political template for example as we try the hardest we can to balance everything out. Sometimes people will lose something in one field and gain something else in the other, but aslong as they're gaining something, they're more then generally going to be satisified and ready to do what you wish them to do, within reason ofcourse.
