International League of Clubs (Soccer)

Postby Libertadograd » Sun Apr 24, 2011 3:17 pm

Libertadograd has the pleasure to invite the Champion of your Football (Soccer) League to participate in the first Champions League. Deppending on the number of teams enrolled, there will be formed groups. After the groups' phase, teams will be seeded and will play two hands against the opposition, one game home and the other away. In case of draw, the criteria applied is the away goals rule. If this paramether cannot be applied, than the game will have more 30 minutes of extra time and, if the teams are still tied, the game will go to penalties.

Every help is welcome!
Enjoy!

Michael VII will send the Champion team of FC Jagoza United. The blue and red devils would love the challenge of overseas teams.

OOC: I can send more if you need further teams. I only didn't reply until now because I wasn't sure of if you wanted the more seriously RPed nations to only send their champs.

Ok so far 5 teams. Lets see if more people join, if not, we better use the champion and vice champion of each league so we have 10 teams, but lets see ;)

If you like, invite people you know!

Well how many teams do you want overall? We could do it like the real UEFA Champions league, where the top few teams in each country go through to the league. Of course it would be best if we had 12-16 nations competing with 2 or 3 teams from each. Groups of 4, top 2 advance to KO stages? Because I would gladly send a couple more teams if you want...

Given established moderation protocol on using sport event names that could be confused with an existing event, and given the posts from Starblaydia and Commerce Heights outlining where the existing and long-established Champions League can be found, I would strongly recommend renaming this event the "Libertadograd Champions League".

There is absolutely no problem in your nation running your own competition for national football champions.

Running a competition for football champions with a name that implies it is a version of an existing event is, however, bad form.

I very much appreciate that you didn't realise this - but please change the event title in the OP.

Count with Cascale Magicians, Champion of Portucalicia Premiere League.

If needed, Compostela Saints, second place of the Portucalicia Premiere League may enter as well

Okay, my second place team is one of the fierce rivals of the champion devils! Coming off winning the Copa Konig and Copa Princes double last year, and a last gasp goal against FC Jagoza City to gain second place. Michael VII is proud to announce...Frbiba City!

Nicknamed: The Bolts.

This morning, a huge crowd of people watched with great expectation the Group Stage draw of the International League of Clubs. The Portucallego teams Compostela Saints and Cascale Magicians are seeded in groups A and C and don't expect easy wins.
While The Eleven Apostles face the firce competition of Undead Soldier Land's champions Walking Dead FC and Mapletish College Premiere League winners Woston College, The Great Architect will fight againts Khazdania's The Le Isale Falconnes for the first place.
Both teams have arrived Libertadograd and are preparing themselves for the first game
