Overview: The Socialist Cybernetics FSR-100 (Field Support Robot-100) is a light armoured vehicle designed to provide fire support to infantry units in urban combat. The FSR-100 mounts a variety of weapons but in its basic version fields a general-purpose machine gun. The vehicle is based on the Russian MRK but boasts a high customisation capacity. FSR-100 guarantees a safe and agile fire support platform whenever troops need an edge in tight urban environments where manned armoured vehicles would be a risky investment.
Details: FSR-100 is a tracked vehicle provided with light armour protection, rubber tracks and a 100 horsepower diesel engine. Basic tracks are rubber-coated steel, but all-steel tracks for off-road terrain are also available. Track life is 25,000 kilometres. The engine provides for a maximum speed of 43 kilometres per hour and sufficient power to overcome 45-degree slopes and a 0.4 m wall obstacle.
Protection consists of 20 milimetres of hardened steel capable of defeating heavy machine gun projectiles and all small arms fire. Additional rubber plating can be added both to the hull and over the wheels to improve survivability against light anti-tank projectiles such as RPG-7. Cage and spaced armour are also available.
A 360-degree traverse turret can mount a 7.62 mm NSVT machine gun with 450 rounds, a 12.7 mm DShK with 250 rounds or an automatic grenade launcher with 80-100 rounds. Thermal imaging is provided by an infrared illuminator and greatly helps in dense urban environments. A night vision device and a high-definition camera further improve spectral coverage and visual availability for the operator. Reloading of the gun takes up to 30 seconds.
The operator console provides a 3D view taken from the high-resolution cameras of the vehicle. Operation requires no specific training - FSR-100 is extremely easy to master and use effectively. Fully autonomous functioning is provided by three basic programmes: sentinel mode, patrol mode and waypoint orientation using GPS and C4ISTAR input.
