The Vress'lvel is the Hegemony's Heavy Assault Walker Tank class. Bigger brother to the Ter'rol Pielch Mk IV walker unit. It boasts thick armour that can repair damage to an extent and comes with a kinetic barrier field powered by a separate reactor that can resist damage to the legs by high velocity weapons or warheads for a time.

The Vress'lvel is one of the eight legged designs developed by HQLT for the Hegemony's military forces following the war of aggression with Xukuthite forces. Each leg is articulated in a similar manner to a spider leg and stretch out to the sides. The multiple legs allow for excellent stability as well as the fact that the design can loose up to two legs on a single side before collapsing. On eight legs, the Vress'lvel can reach a top speed of about thirty-eight kilometers per hour and can handle incredibly rough terrain.

Bioskin Armour

Anechoic, genetic hull-skin developed as an acoustics countermeasure, with additional protection from light to medium weapons fire. The genetically-engineered material - a living organism by any other definition - covers the exterior of the hull as three layers, each approximately 101.6 mm thick at their most heavily-developed surfaces. Over the length of the walker, this gives the Vress'lvel a layer of protection some 304.8 mm thick in the most heavily protected areas of the walker, on top of reactive armour plating. The bioskin layers are highly tensile, densely composed structures which absorb and distort active acoustic signals such as radar pings, thereby drastically reducing the effectiveness of detection equipment directed at the vehicle.

Secondly, the bioskin disrupts lasers and or optics associated with guided munitions. This substantially reduces the threat from ATGM's and so on.

Thirdly, the bioskin possesses self-regenerating properties that enable it to seal any external breaches to the hull. Being a third-generation skin, the more mature genetic properties allow a rate of regeneration which can completely seal a compromising hull-breach up to 1.0668 meters wide in just less than 20 minutes, allowing the internal compartments to be isolated, sealed to allow extensive internal repairs to otherwise crippling damage without the need to leave the field of combat.

The reactive armour of this class was developed as a countermeasure to Subduction weaponry. Composed of six layers of composite materials (the exact details of which remain classified) the armour is designed to absorb the heat of kinetic energy weapons, and in extreme cases; shatter and then expand to form a callous-like protective crystalline shell that becomes incredibly durable against directed energy weapons.

The indigenously-reactive nature of the layered composites make the armour an extremely effective countermeasure against Xukuthite subduction weaponry. Subduction weapons - which use particle decelerating technology - cut through complex materials by breaking them apart at the molecular level. When this electrochemical reaction occurs, the reactive armour found on the hull of the Reverence class forms a 'slurry' which - when mixed with the other composites of the armour - rapidly re-solidifies, and absorbs the energy of the attack, thus protecting the hull beneath.

Weapons

Armed with a missile launcher on the right side of the turret, capable of anti-armour or anti-aircraft. The left side boasts an anti-personnel pulse laser system. The main weapon however is a particle beam cannon that can lob charged energy blasts up to 9 km away. Other adornments are the usual mines, canister launchers that can fire smoke, anti-laser filaments, gas etc.

The Vress'lvel has a three person cockpit buried within the center of the hull. The turret is remotely operated. The cockpit isnt cramped compared to the cockpit of other vehicles, and is quite highly praised by its crews. The sensor suite is a combination of digital and optoelectronics devices, and a digital fire-control system. The system consists of a thermal camera, a daylight camera, laser rangefinder and a version of the hyper-sonar that Hegemony submarines come equipped with, that can detect lifeforms and or thermal output of vehicle engines up to two kilometers around the unit.

The unit is meant to be in more of an anti-armour role, and is usually supported by Ter'rol Pielch's to combat enemy infantry. The Vress'lvel is thus well suited to its role alongside more traditional armour.

The HQLT FR-3 system operates in a repeating cycle, with each cycle culminating in a burst of fusion energy.

Weapon Systems
1. HPWS-1/D Hyper Subduction Beam Cannon (1): This weapon is the standard ranged weapon. It is designed as a short range anti-armor and infantry weapon. The cannon can be aimed up or down 80 degrees. The weapon termed Hyper subduction beam cannon, is based on research into neutron beam technology, of which the weapon is a type of directed-energy. This weapon uses a high-energy beam of atomic or subatomic particles to damage the target by disrupting its atomic and/or molecular structure with an added concussive impact with a blast equivalency of 19.45 percent of a Hiroshima atomic warhead per 'round' delivered towards a target.

It is mounted on the dorsal spine and the unit must move in order to change direction of rounds being fired.

Overall Weight: 2.7 metric tons (3 tons), but comes with its own energy supply.

2. Chemrail Anti-Aircraft Flak Gun (1): This weapon system is composed of two cannons that are mounted on either side of the main remote weapon station on the dorsal spine. These rapid-fire cannon shoot (Fin Stabilized, Discarding Rail Accelerator Sabot) rounds which are used against aircraft, light armor, and infantry positions or infantry. It is the most popular weapon with crews due to the ability to inflict damage and long range of the cannon. The flak cannon can be aimed up or down 80 degrees.
