Geography:

Total Area: 1,219,450 km2

Bordering Nations:

Coastline Length: 3,340 km

Terrain: The land is considered flat, and most of it is 300 and 500 meters above sea level. A large portion of the land is desert; nearly 85%. The rest has been adapted to cultivated land and permanently settled land. 1.21% is water, while the rest is either farming land or metropolitan areas.

There are two major rivers that run through the Descendants of the Sun, called the Iztpalapa (runs east to west), and the Tepeyacac (runs south to north). Tepeyacac River runs 992 kilometers, and the Iztpalap is 734 kilometers long. A lake forms where both rivers meet, and is known as Lake Texcoco. Lake Texcoco has a surface area of around 31,564 km2 with a volume of 2,230 km3.

Land Use and Irrigated Land: All cultivated land is located around Lake Texcoco, Tepeyacac River and Iztpalap River. Annually flooding, they all provide many kilometers of fertile land used for farming. Many major cities are located around these, although some are still located in the surrounding desert land.

Climate: The median temperature year round is 78 degrees Fahrenheit. In the winter, it is usually around 60 degrees, although lows have been known to reach the forties. Summers are very hot with average temperatures getting up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Rainfall is very limited; generally around 12 centimeters a year.

Elevation Extremes: The highest is Mount Zetpochtl (part of the Zetpochtl Mountain Range) which is 1487 meters above sea level. The lowest is the Basin of Texcoco, which contains the land surrounding Lake Texcoco. This land at its lowest is 240 meters below sea level.

Natural Resources: Oil and natural gas, iron ore, phosphate, limestone, manganese, talc, zinc, asbestos, gypsum

Natural Hazards: Often the major rivers or lakes will overflow, damaging crops or destroying property, but the use of flood control such as dams, reservoirs, levees, and bunds help keep flooding under control. Dust storms can also be a problem in the deserts, and frequent during the winter. Furthermore, prolonged exposure to the Sun and heat causes significant damage to many foreigners.

Environmental Issues: Most of the Descendants of the Sun’s population are dependant on clean nuclear power, and disposing of this waste can be a problem. Also, water pollution is becoming a major concern.
