DAWRC-B. Thoughts?

The DAWRC-B (Deadly Assault Weapon Regulation and Confiscation Bureau) is the latest installment in the Esconshan government. The DAWRC-B Bill is a newly released package that:
1. Prohibits the ownership, manufacturing, or distribution of ammo clips with the ability to hold over 10 bullets.
2. Prohibits the ownership of any weapon of any sort to anyone under the age of 20.
3. States that the DAWRC-B has the authority to confiscate any weapon if it meets DAWRC-B Confiscation and Repossession standards.
4. Makes it illegal for anyone under the age of 20 to be instructed in the art of weaponry unless they have joined the military.
5. Makes it a Federal Crime for a parent or legal guardian to register a weapon in his or her own name so that a child may make use of the weapon. 6. Any individual who violates any DAWRC-B Regulation or obstructs a DAWRC-B property search will be arrested and jailed immediately for as long as the DAWRC-B feels necessary.

DAWRC-B Confiscation and Repossession Standards:

The following is a list of Standards that, when enforced, allow the DAWRC-B to repossess and confiscate any weapon if it meets any of the following standards:
1. The weapon can hold more than ten bullets internally.
2. The weapon is over 8" long.
3. The weapon is a government certified lethal weapon or is a government certified WOMD (Weapon of Mass Destruction).
4. The weapon has not been registered or is owned illegally.

The Holy Amercian Republic is very disappointed at the formation of this agency and its communistic big government ideals.

They hvae also raised the point that the legislation is typical of such pointless tyranny in as much as it demsotrates a total lack of understanding of the form and function of firearms.

mean while many Crookfur mnufacturers seem to be preparing to take advantage of this legislation to ship vast quatities of belted and linked ammunition, ammo strips and high capacity MAGAZINES.

Arms dealer within Croofkur are also preparing to offer any Esconshan citizens in possesion of a clip fed firearm full retail value for thier antique firearms.

The Republic finds this to greatly infringe on the liberties of the people of Esconsha. We find this clause to be particularly worrisome:

This is a complete violation of the right to a fair and speedy trial and attorney. The Republic expects Esconsha to be a civil nation and these rights shouldn't be suspended for any citizen suspected of any crime.

Until proper changes are made, the Republic condemns these actions.

Do the numbers point to a need for such action? Or are mass-murders highly-publicized? The Republic finds that mass-murders account for a minuscule percentage of total murders. As well, number of deaths by hands and feet and knives are comparable to those done by guns. Of course, the Republic goes "to each his own," but we find that anyone who gives up liberty for security, as the saying goes, will get none and deserves neither.

Alowwvia would support the citizens of Esconsha who choose to remain armed, including the offering of political asylum and the replacement of any arms stolen by the government.

IC: The right to defend one's honor in single combat should not be subject to age discrimination. At least let the children keep their swords!

Please know, the ban does not include all weapons. Pistols, for example, are allowed.

It is still unethical to not reimburse people for their purchases. One man may have been a collector of firearms who is now going to be ruined, bankrupt and poor because he now has nothing to sell off for his investment. It's cruel.

Secondly; pistols are more often used in murders because of ease of concealment. Rifles are more difficult to carry in public places. Ban rifles and automatic weapons if you must, but Alowwvia believes that longarms that require a pump-or-bolt action, or are single or double shot, are of no danger to the public at large anywhere, and are certainly impractical for murder.
