Heckz naw, man! Why wank to a picture of a snow sculpture when you can go home and make one, then...

...well, let's just say 'once you go snow, you never let go'.

Partly due to being frozen to said snow afterwards

Very prudish. It wasn't exactly a 'blowjob' snowman was it?

I found the snow sculpture boring anyway to be honest.

I think in my opinion, I don't think I sense another "political correctness" cry this time because there has to be a balance between moral decency and art. In the UK, advertisers would never publish a poster with bare breasts at all since the ASA would grill them for it anyway.

Stories like this continue to reduce my faith in humanity every day...

At least this one can balance itself out...according to the poll on the site Katganistan linked, 92.5% of the people who voted are in agreement with the majority of posters here...

Besides, I'm afraid that saying "If they don't like this, they should ban/cover all nude statues" it's... ehm... pointless. The kind of people that find that "immoral" would SURELY cover (or more likely DESTROY) all nude statues. :(

I remember reading in TIME, a couple of years ago, that a teacher was fired for taking children to an art museum that had classical, nude sculptures. It's bad enough to break the proverbial camel's back; does the world still have to pile the straw on?

o_O

The problem is that if a sculpture like Venus de Milo were to be produced today, it'd be decried as porn, sort of like that woman here who took artistic nudes of her children and put them in an art gallery (trust me, if you've seen the pictures you'd know it's certainly not kiddie porn) and was accused of producing kiddie porn.
Also they got taken out of the art gallery.

Honestly though, that is a little weird to take artistic nudes of your children and put them in a gallery. Not so much that it's not art (I'm not going to argue against that.), but if you factor in the sickos out there, it just doesn't seem wise.

They weren't particularly young children, though, (about 10-16?) and they weren't completely nude, a lot like those old Greek sculptures where they were holding togas and stuff which occasionally showed off bits.

In the eyes of some Rahway, N.J., neighbors, the nude snow sculpture of Venus de Milo that one family built in their yard was just plain offensive.

She was curvaceous, bodacious and bootylicious,” Gonzalez told the U.K.’s Daily Mail. “She had a six-pack!”

But after receiving an anonymous complaint, a Rahway police officer was sent to the home, and reluctantly asked the family to cover up the buff (albeit headless and limbless) bod. More

what's the problem? some people complained and the family put a bikini and wrap on it without a fuss.

it's not like they were arrested or given a ticket for it.

next time, put up david or a snow sculpture of God giving live to Adam and see if there's any complaint.

I kinda agree with the man in the article... the Bikini and Sarong looks sexier than the naked snow sculpture. while both looks like a store mannequin... the dressed one actually highlights the form and draws attention to details.
