Hesitant Element
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.
Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: Agriculture
Proposed by: Segentaea
Description: Scientists all over the world have come together to create "Iscariotium", element 119. But others have said no. The new element could cause harm to the environment. Forests and Wildlife will be extremely harmed. But, the economy will boom and the war budget will fall as Iscariotium will create the largest and most dangerous non-atomic bomb.
Josef Argyle says, "Wars will be easier to fight. Sure, the environment will be destroyed but, isn't it already gonna be destroyed?"
Meanwhile, Cameron Bradham says, "Here is the thing, we use resources, destroy resources, and fight over resources. We use tons of resources to create this new element. We destroy the environment that gives us resources and when those are all gone, we will destroy each other over the resources."
So, should we allow the creation of Iscariotium, element 119? Or should we never create another element?

Fat People in Military
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.
Category: Human Rights
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Franconia Empire
Description: There has been a recent question that has been going on for centuries, can gays be allowed in the military? There are several reasons why they should.
1) They are humans who deserve rights, too
2) They keep serious situations bright
3) Gays can keep serious even when not
4) THEY ARE HUMANS!
A recent study has shown that military power has dropped due to less hormonal releases. This has shown to be important even though men and women are segregated in their own sectors. When a male is in a room full of other horny males, what are they gonna do? Allowing the gays in the military will decrease those hormonal issues. They will powerhouse the straights. Another reason why gays should be in the military is because they can plan out things over a long period of time. They will be a great use in the communications department of the countries. They can use the big code names and understand what they mean in the blink of an eye.
This issue is a big thing to countries who need help in their military. For the countries who will need recruits in the near future. This is the fate of the world, and the fate of the people.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL

On Abolishing Tariffs
A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.
Category: Free Trade
Strength: Mild
Proposed by: Vuldaron
Description: RECOGNIZING that a tariff is a tax or duty imposed by one nation on the imported goods or services of another nation.
UNDERSTANDING that tariffs are normally imposed for a number of valid reasons, including:
1. To protect newly established domestic industries from foreign competition.
2. To protect aging and inefficient domestic industries from foreign competition.
3. To protect domestic producers from "dumping" by foreign companies or governments. Dumping occurs when a foreign company charges a price in the domestic market which is below its own cost or under the cost for which it sells the item in its own domestic market.
4. To raise revenue. Many developing nations use tariffs as a way of raising revenue.
FURTHERING THE UNDERSTANDING of the ways in which tariffs affect certain nations, including that which tariffs hurt both (or all) countries involved, those that impose the tariff and those whose products are the target of the tariffs, through a number of ways, especially countries who's products are the targets of tariffs:
1. For the country whose products are the target of tariffs, costs of production and sale prices rise with tariff costs.
2. For most nations, this leads to fewer exports and fewer sales with lower revenue, and ultimately, a decline in business.
3. And finally, a decline in business leads to fewer jobs and spreads the slowdown in economic activity.
FURTHER RECOGNIZING that the costs of tariffs can not be ignored, and that these costs come when the price of the goods on which the tariffs were imposed has increased, as the consumer is forced to either buy less of these goods or less/fewer of some other goods.
REALIZING that the price increase can be thought of as a reduction in consumer income, as since consumers are purchasing less, domestic producers in other industries are selling less, causing a decline in the economy.
STATING that for the provided reasons, tariffs must be abolished and their effect extended to all nations within the WA.
FURTHER STATING that if the above option is not viable, that a non-tariff barrier may also be considered as a viable secondary option in relation to the first, and finally,
UNDERSTANDING what a non-tariff barrier is, that it is a form of restrictive trade where barriers to trade are set up and take a form other than a tariff, and that non-tariff barriers can frequently take the form of quotas, levies, embargoes, and sanctions.
Approvals: 2 (Samartanya, Ximos)
Status: Lacking Support (requires 84 more approvals)
Voting Ends: in 3 days

Legalize Gay Marriage
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.
Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Vardona
Description: Members of the World Assembly, it is time to rise up and defeat discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender. Our first step is to legalize same-sex marriage for LGBTQ citizens.
RECOGNIZING that religious freedoms are important to the civil rights of each individual.
APPALLED that individuals of a religion antagonize a specific group of people, yet those same people discriminated against affiliate with the religious faith.
IMPLORING member nations to take a step forward and acknowledge that the right to marry should be granted to all citizens regardless of sexual orientation or gender.
REALIZING that it is not against religious freedoms if a LGBTQ member of a religious faith seeks marriage in his/her place of worship, only an increase of freedom.
HEREBY legalizes same-sex marriage in all World Assembly member nations, for the betterment of society.
