“Esteemed delegates and members of the World Assembly, I’d first like to thank the Honorable Ambassador of the Sister Republics of Wallenburg for proposing this repeal of General Assembly Resolution 347.

In the Republic of Callagea, we have long stood for greater fairness in the international market and have always supported initiatives that improve chances for international development. And we recognize that the original resolution had noble intentions of trying to improve international commerce through guaranteeing that the intellectual property and inventions of one state would be secured in all World Assembly member states. Unfortunately, this resolution has instead only introduced more confusion and offers loopholes for abuse by other countries.

While it is in the best interest of the World Assembly to ensure that intellectual property is indeed guaranteed and protected, the current resolution needs to be revised and changed so as to better foster international development without the risk of causing unnecessary hardship to the member states of the World Assembly.

It is because of this that we support and vote YES for the Honorable Ambassador of the Sister Republics of Wallenburg’s proposal to repeal General Assembly Resolution 347.”
