Recognizing the good intent of General Assembly Resolution 57, Refugee Protection, to protect refugees from civil rights violations,
Alarmed by the general prohibition of extradition to any state willing to prosecute the person in question
Determining that the resolution prohibits that even if the person would get a fair trial
Saddened by the fact that this hinders the just prosecution of crimes
The World Assembly
Repeals General Assembly Resolution 57, Refugee Protection.
If anyone wonders, the problematic clause is this:
1. No person, whether or not they meet the definitions of a refugee, shall be transported against their will, in any manner or for any reason, to a territory in which that person may be put at risk of persecution, unjustifiably discriminatory treatment, unjust incarceration or execution, torture, or other serious violations of their rights, whether by state or non-state entities.
Note that this doesn't say unjust persecution, but only persecution. Which is bad.
