Oh, it's a Strangers' Bar thing. Most of those things will be left out, unfortunately, because if it was up to the bar regulars we'd be reciting Barlordian Conventions till the cows come home. The Bar itself, and the Barlordian Laws, are there, and I'm considering adding the Shrine of the Manifestation, but little else beyond that will be included.

I think that term is more recent. I remember people complaining about DLE's tech wank back then but I don't remember anyone calling it "DLE-wank" while DLE was still playing.

Great Dodgeball War
A memorable international incident from days long past, when GAer Sophista threatened to refuse compliance with the controversial Historical Resolution Law of the Sea, only to be challenged militarily by now-moderator Frisbeeteria. Since neither nation had a very powerful or fearsome army, they agreed to sort out their differences with an internationally broadcast game of dodgeball, where players hit with balls would become POWs for the opposing nation. It is (or at least, was) often cited as a prime example of "roleplayed noncompliance," though no one's really certain who actually won the historic bout. Since no one's seen Sophista around in awhile, I think it was Fris.

Good on ya for remembering that one! I wish I'd preserved the content (between Jolt and my own hard drive crashes, it's long gone), but Sophista and I had great fun with it. I do still have the official logo from the joint broadcasts from Murdock Metro Media and the Sophista Dodgeball Defense Network:

That's OK, American rules regarding quote-marks are complicated; it's hard to know when punctuation is actually supposed to be inside or outside the mark.

When your ambassador is talking or something, punctuation goes inside the marks. When you're quoting someone (differs occasionally) then the punct. goes outside the marks.
