The two winners will move on to face each other in the finals while the losers will play each other in the third place game.

After the group stage, two semifinals will be played, followed by a third-place game and finals.

Vephrall's NSFS3 will be used to scorinate, each night at 8-9 PM EST.

RPs will be graded based on respect for opponents' RP permissions, grammar and spelling (won't be ridiculous and nit-picky here), quality and effort. It wouldn't really be fair to define further what quality means, as people RP differently. Don't forget your RP Permissions.

Goalkeepers:

1- Roberto BENNEDETTO (Team: FC Mildrid) –CAPTAIN
Height: 196cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 17 years old
Roberto Bennedetto is regarding by many to be the next great keeper in Erathore. From a very young age it was evident that he was exceptionally skilled at his position. At the age of 9 he was recruited by the FC Mildrid youth team and started in the junior squad. 6 years later he was moved up to the actual Mildrid team for the upcoming season opening game against the then #3 club Manlio. It was immediately evident just how skilled he was. He made several spectacular saves and blocked every single shot. He only gave up one goal and that was a penalty, of which he faced two that night, blocking one. He was offered a position at Juvillian Martinax but stayed with his childhood club.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A

12- Alessio Affonso GALIGILYGANO (Team: Juvillian Martinax)
Height: 190.5cm - Weight: 87kg – Age: 26 years old
Galigilygano has been considered one of the greatest keepers to play in Erathore after his spectacular cleansheet against the then leading club of Baritiada four years ago. He prefers to pull of saves that are he deems to be comfortable and not too risky, but if a more spectacular save is necessary he will not hesitate to perform it. Galigilygano is reluctant to challenge an enemy offender due to him having broken 3 ribs in his first professional game that saw him missing a few games. He has landed himself a lucrative contract with the leading club in Erathore, Juvillian Martinax.
Rating: A+ - Team Relationship: A - Morale: B+ - Form: A+

Right Defenders:

2- Ermanno GAVINO Amedo (Team: Arro)
Height: 179cm – Weight: 73kg – Age: 27 years old
Gavino belongs to one of the minor clubs so it came as a surprise to Erathore when he was appointed to the national team, and then again when he was placed as starter. It’s not as if he isn’t up to the task however, he is a very skilled and talented player. He does appear to be more concerned with how he looks on the camera over the practicality of his moves, as he is unaccustomed to so much attention. This leads to him making many spectacular and last minute tackles and steals. However, averaging a yellow a game, his method is not too clean.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: B

14- NARAZO Del Pietro (Team: Drago de Celio)
Height: 173cm – Weight: 67kg – Age: 25 years old
Narazo Del Pietro is a player who can play both sides of the field, although he prefers to play on the right side. More often then not, his passes are sloppy but still reach his targets by some miracle, making him one the target for many friendly jokes by his teammates, who love him due to his smiling, joking, all around good natured personality. His coaches don’t however, as he always seems to brush off his errors, although he secretly, or at least he thinks he is, practices what he has been criticized for.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: C

Left Defenders:

3- Fredrico MANLIO (Team: Manlio)
Height: 185cm - Weight: 82kg – Age: 22 years old
Fredrico Manlio is the great-grandson of Diauiditori Manlio, the great striker of Erathore and founder of the Manlio football club. However there are some on the team who resent him for his connection to Manlio. Despite the immense pressure that comes with this relationship, Fredrico performs very well, almost flawlessly.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: A

16- Santo VINCENZO Amadore(Team: Juvillian Martinax)
Height: 176cm – Weight: 73kg – Age: 32 years old
A smart player, Cotuba is a player that loves to go to the attack, and is good in dribbling and excellent at passing, being good at making assists too. One of his major flaws in game is his inability to hit the long ball accurately. Outside the pitch, he likes to party and spread himself around with women. This, although being good for his ego, has resulted in much of the team taking a negative approach to working with him.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: C – Morale: A – Form: A

Central Defenders:

4- Mariano ALBERICO (Team: EMI FC)
Height: 189cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 27 years old
Alberico is not a clean footballer. Given his brief stint in the military, he likes to argue with officials and players from the other team. A lot. This has resulted in many a yellow and the occasional red. However he produces results so he is kept on the team. The main drawback of Alberico is his occasional bouts with anxiety about having to go toe to toe with an offender from the other team. This results in him breaking out in a massive sweat and kicking the ball away from him. Despite this, he plays hard and plays to win.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: A - Morale: B - Form: A

21- ALFIERI Benzio(Team: Vicanto)
Height: 181cm - Weight: 77kg – Age: 31 years old
The impressive defender from Vicanto has been playing since he was 4. He has played with some of the greatest players and has learned from them resulting in a beautiful mixture between dirty and clean playing. His passes are crisp and right to where his target will be in a few seconds, rather then where he was. He makes beautiful tackles and rarely ever stays on the ground if tackled himself, as he is doing no good rolling around on his knees. This is to be his last season before retirement and he hopes it goes nice and clean.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: A - Form: A

Stoppers:

5- NERO Remo (Team: Elidoro FC)
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 23 years old
One of the few representatives of Elidoro FC on the national team, Nero has been trained to be a top footballer since his youth, participating in most of the youth high level club teams of the country. Even though he had the misfortune of always landing on a losing team during that age, in the professionals he has taken Elidoro FC into the La Leaugia Seriea-A and into the top 10 teams at that. Off the field, Nero can be found reading to classical music on one of Erathore’s beaches.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: C - Form: B

26- Vanni DEL NARAN (Team: Charzzan)
Height: 173cm – Weight: 73kg – Age: 20 years old
Narazn is a promising player although he only starts around half of the games for Charzzan. It is hoped that by placing him on the national team he will develop into a fine footballer capable of playing with the best of the best time after time.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A

Defensive Midfielders:

6- EMLIO Fredrico(Team: Reial Daran)
Height: 171cm – Weight: 70kg – Age: 29 years old
Emlio is a player that loves to play the game. He trains everyday, wears his jersey around the house and has been known to sleep in it from time to time. As a player, he works as a second defensive midfielder, with more freedom to go to the attacks, mostly due to his ability in controlling the ball and making precise passes. His favored and most classic move is performing a backwards pass with his heel after catching the ball on a bounce.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: B

15- BLAKE Fedele (Team: Vicanto)
Height: 179cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 36 years old
Blake has been playing for Vicanto since the first youth team was created, and seems satisfied with the substitute role, as he often gets playing time for being a very trustworthy person and good at holding the ball and strictly following tactics. He excels at seeing one of his teammates making a long break before they themselves make the break. A fine choice for this position, he does this unlike any other.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: B

Neutral Midfielders:

8- Miguel Duarte SILVIA (Team: Dubor FC)
Height: 182cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 19 years old
Silvia is widely regarding as one of the greatest passers and assisters in Erathore’s history. With the number of assists in triple digits, it’s hard to deny. In his most famous assist, he shot at the goal from 23yd out, only to reveal that his target had been the crossbar. The ball ricocheted and landed at the feet of the Dubor striker who pounded it in for the goal. Off the field, Silvia likes to study geometry. He is also amazing at Pascal’s Triangle.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: A – Morale: A – Form: A

19- FIORELLO Lupes (Team: Dilby United)
Height: 185cm – Weight: 78kg – Age: 27 years old
Fiorello is almost a polar opposite of Alexio and somehow the two have become the best of friends. Fiorello likes to listen to heavy metal while training, is capable of bending the ball, although to a very limited extent, and argues very loudly with referees. Despite his tall stature and aforementioned attributes, he has beautiful footwork with the ball. Weaving the ball above, around, and under the opponent.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: A

Attacking Midfielders:

7- Alexio Del NIERAN (Team: FC Mildrid) Height: 168cm – Weight: 66kg – Age: 20 years old
Alexio is a quiet and respectful footballer. He enjoys training whilst listening to dubstep and classical music. He is equally adapt at offense and defense. He is always respectful to the referees, calmly and rationally arguing with them and if proven wrong he apologizes to, and then thanks the referee. He has been compared to an artist creating a masterpiece on the field and it is evident why. He is widely credited with being the most proficient at bending the ball in Erathore. This has caused many a keeper to scramble and fail to save his ball that curves first one way then another. Rating: A+ – Team Relationship: A+ – Morale: A+ – Form: A+

11- ILLIO Narizzidad (Team: Jutear)
Height: 175cm – Weight: 73kg – Age: 39 years old
Illio is one of the best footballers in Erathore so it came as a surprise when he denied the starting position and settled for being a substitute. He stated that he wanted to teach the young Silvia about the sport and he was too old, this would be his last season. A mentor bond has formed between the two and they can be seen practicing with each other. Illio also helps other members of the team and is loved by all.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: A – Morale: A – Form: A

Attackers:

9- Gaspare MALVOLIO (Team: Juvillian Martinax) -CAPTAIN
Height: 177cm – Weight: 75kg – Age: 25 years old
Malvolio is the fastest footballer in Erathore. When he was 13 years old he posted a 4.54 40-yd dash and has continually improved that to wear he runs a 2.56 on a bad day and a 2.14 on a good one. He has impressive dribbling skills to match that speed as well. He doesn’t have powerful shots though, he prefers to lure the goalkeeper into a challenge so he can humiliate the keeper by nutmegging him for the goal.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: B– Morale: B – Form: B

10- Michelangelo De MERICCI (Team: Juvillian Martinax)
Height: 176cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 26 years old
Mericci is one of the most powerful shooters on the team. He is capable of ripping them past the keeper from 40yd out although he rarely does that in a game. He does not boast impressive dribbling and usually relies on crosses from fellow Juvemar teammate Malvolio to cross it to him to rip it into the corner.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: A

18- LUCIFER Andrea (Team: Vicanto)
Height: 192cm – Weight: 85kg – Age: 25 years old
Lucifer is a jack of all trades, master of none. He is not particularly strong in any area, nor is he weak. While this does lead to a well-balanced player it does not lead to a particularly powerful player. He is a very cheery player though and he has developed the habit of smiling at his opposition before he makes a move.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: C

FSSO International Football Team

Image

Nickname: Fuzz
Main Stadium: Bastion Arena, Bastion
Stadium Capacity: 81,383 (However 3,000 seats are usually left empty to separate opposing fans.)
Image

Honours:
Market Cup Winners - Jan 2011

Playing Style: +1
Favourite Formation: 4-1-2-1-2

Manager: Ben Randall
Randall has been FSSO or ‘Fuzz’ (FSSO is short for my nations full name) national manager for three years. He has a good reputation having developed the national youth system and bringing better results in general, although he has received criticism for indecision at times. He is currently on a high however following recent victory in the Market Cup.

Assistant Manager: Dimitri Campbell
Assistant manager for one year, following in the footsteps of his father Brian Campbell. Similar but less attacking style to Randall.

Player guide – Shirt number. Name – Position – Age – Club – Caps - Goals

Goalkeepers

1. Daniel Belgrave – GK – 23 – Directus – 40 – 0

This young player came up through the Directus FC youth system and has been their first choice goalkeeper for two years now. He has been first choice for the national team for a similar amount of time, and his height and bravery have made him an effective goalkeeper. Strong at defending set pieces and corners and good at saving penalties, but is not as good at dealing with shots from a tight angle.

27. Jerry Watchman – GK – 31 – Bastion – 108 – 1

Before the arrival of Belgrave on the scene, Watchman was first choice. He famously headed in a goal in stoppage time to give the FSSO a 1-0 win in a tournament of local national teams. He ran up for a corner as the clock ran down and threw himself into a diving header, turning him into a national hero overnight. Belgrave’s natural mentor.

41. Craig Castleton – GK – 28 – Pashter United – 19 – 0

Third choice goalkeeper who recently returned from a lengthy injury. Good at dealing with close range efforts due to good reactions, but weak at set pieces.

Defenders

2. Dennis Arnold – RB/RWB – 24 – Directus – 54 – 1

This promising attacking right back was discovered by manager Ben Randall when he was managing powerhouse club Directus, and he called the lad up as soon as he became manager of the national team. Arnold has had a good start to his international career, despite initially being a flop. Lacks in strength, but fast and good at dribbling.

4. Grant Davis – CB – 30 – Ulsa – 109 – 7

6 ft 3 Grant Davis has long been a staple of the FSSO back line, providing stability and control in defence. He has a great record with his head, scoring 6 for his country with the cranium from set plays and such. His seventh goal came from a wonderful volley in a friendly last year. Strong and generally a great player.

5. Mike Humphrey – RCB – 26 – Bastion – 69 – 1

Less physically imposing than Davis, but much more skilled on the ball and slightly fitter. However his goal scoring ability is pathetic, even for a defender.

3. Joe Arnie Pizza – LB/LM – 24 – Bastion – 64 – 3
Vice captain

(If anyone gets the reference to a real life player in the name, they get a cookie.) An intense attacking left back who can also play a left midfield role, Pizza is not as consistent or good at tackling as the above three defenders but he is much better at short and long balls and has a deadly left foot which regularly thumps in screaming shots for his club.

Other defenders:

22. Ben Kean – LCB – 28 – Farrelton Athletic – 47 – 0
13. Julesk Paranaya – CB/CDM – 25 – Asmer – 34 – 1
17. Matt Boyce – RCB/RB – 32 – Internazcionale (Erathore) – 17 – 0

Midfielders

6. Steven Thompson – CDM – 30 – Ulsa – 109 – 7
Captain

Thompson has been playing for his country since he was 17 and never looked back. One of FSSO footballs most successful players, his holding play in midfield is useful in defence and build up play.

8. Carlos Aduna – CAM – 26 – Bastion – 93 – 14
Direct free kick taker – Driven

Like Pizza, Aduna is renowned for his power shots – except Aduna uses his right foot. A powerful presence in midfield that plays good through balls and is excellent at shooting from range, although his ability to head the ball is not great. He is the playmaker.

7. James McRoft – RAM/RW – 22 – Directus - 48 – 10
Direct free kick taker – Curled
Right corner taker

A young winger, McRoft is fast, a brilliant dribbler and superb finisher. His defensive capabilities when going back are questionable but when he dribbles past two players and curls the ball into the top corner from 25 yards, the manager doesn’t complain. Certainly a wonder kid, and currently the joint most valuable player in the FSSO at a price tag of £32 million quaglifumps. The other player is star striker Lee Sharp.

11. Josh Stevenson – LDM/LM – 18 – Farrelton Athletic – 19 – 1
Left corner taker

Josh Stevenson is a very promising young player who plays a more defensive game than his right wing counterpart, but is equally skilled on the ball and also provides brilliant corners and crosses, like McRoft. However, he has only made six international appearances prior to now so his inexperience could hinder him on and off the field.

Other Midfielders

12. Persa Ryans – CM – 26 – Bastion – 48 – 3
15. John Pallister – CM/RM – 30 - Sparta FC – 47 - 0
18. Carl Coffa – CB/CDM – 28 – Horncorn – 41 – 0
24. Dennis Truch – LM – 23 – Revolutionaries – 16 – 0

Forwards

9. Sam Needle – ST – 21 – Bastion – 35 – 16
Penalty taker

Since he started playing internationals Sam Needle has shown himself to be a prolific scorer and great finisher. Although his ability to play the ball to others is his weakness, he can produce brilliant finishes especially from short range, and he is quite fast.

10. Lee Sharp – RS – 25 – Directus – 65 – 37
Star player

Sharp is short and not particularly strong, and rarely scores headers – but he is a lethal from all ranges, fast, determined and offers brilliant passing skills and through balls. His speciality is edge of the box finishes, from which he scores a lot of his goals for club and country.

14. Scott Daley – CF – 27 – Farrelton Athletic – 79 – 21

Daley is no longer the forward of choice for his country but he still poses a threat, although as a centre forward he plays more of a supporting role than the leading pair, who are referred to as “Sharp Needles.” However he is very capable with his head, being 6ft 2, and possesses a quite accurate left foot.

Other strikers

16. Graham Hill – RS – 36 - Horncorn – 136 – 50
20. Ben Quinn – LS – 23 – Ulsa – 21 – 1

Preferred team sheet (Players not included will act as reserves)

Starting 11

1 - Daniel Belgrave
2 – Dennis Arnold
5 – Mike Humphrey
4 – Grant Davis
3 – Joe Arnie Pizza
7 – James Mcroft
6 – Steven Thompson ©
8 – Carlos Aduna
11 – Josh Stevenson
10 – Lee Sharp
9 – Sam Needle

Substitutes

27 – Jerry Watchman
22 – Ben Kean
13 – Julesk Paranaya
12 – Persa Ryans
15 – John Pallister

Saugeais Sports Briefs
Under-21 football team to play in charity game

In preparation for the next Di Bradini Cup, newly appointed Foxes manager Harrison Pinchot decided to take his team to more tournaments. "We need to get these guys more experience before the next major tournaments. Hell, some of my squad may move on to the national team to play for the big prize. But it all starts with baby steps. Now I understand we came in fourth place during our first attempt in the Di Bradini. I want to take this team all the way next time. But we can't get their on talent alone. We need teamwork. We need focus. We need matches like this to get our system running on all cylinders so that come Di Bradini time, we will be able to roll the competition."

Saugeais has been drawn in the fourth group with fellow challengers Socialist States Owen, Old Havansk, Spitfyred1, and Chuunan. While Socilist States Owen seems to be the only major challenge for the Foxes in the group stage, never rule out a surprise goal or two from the new competitors to the game.

Chunnan loses first international soccer/football match
Image
Caption- Goalie Jimmy Gonzlos saddened by three goals on him in his first international match.

It is a very sad day for Chunnan, as 3 silly goals go on them.
33 min- Corner by Maurice Dumond to Rico Firenze, then heads it and goal.
56 min- Maurice Dumond shoots after long run.
90 min- John Barker shoots and flicks off Chunnani player Robert Ylink and goes in.

But what was the saddest part, is the offside goals. Yes goals. 2 of them. One of them is as Yoseph Goasala passes it to Zim Link, Zim link shoots and scores. But, ref calls offside. This was at the 15 min. The other time is when Flaggy Sunder passes to Yoseph Goaslala, Yoseph shoots and scores. This didn't count because of another call by the ref. This was at the 44 min. If only those goals went in, maybe the momentum could've changed and Chunnan would've won. But, that's just too bad.As Chunnan watched, their hopes were lost. They hoped for 1 goal but they got none. Chunnan has scored no international goal because this is the first international match. They are hoping for a win tomorrow. If a loss, atleast a goal. The home stadium of Chunnan, the Sazi Stadium, had a large screen and free tickets and food to watch the match. Unfortunatly, Chunnan lost. Thank you for reading the latest edition.

Erathore in the Soccer for Hope Tournament:
Who to watch from Erathore and the first game

Micheal Masato

So here we are entering yet another tournament. One that we should win or come very close to winning. The Erathore National Football team has had a pretty good non-World Cup sanctioned event run, coming in 2nd and 3rd in the two tournaments entered. The World Cup saw us exceeding anything we had ever dreamed of. We narrowly missed advancement from the Interzonals in our first World Cup appearance. There were several poor performances during the WC however, and each time we lost by a large amount, Ricardo Vito seemed to be in goal. Now the man is an amazing keeper, let's get that straight, but his performance in the WC was poor at best which has lead to his removal from the National squad. On the subject of the man between the posts, Roberto Bennedetto, the extraordinary keeper for FC Mildrid, will be donning the jersey with the big #1 on the back of it whilst Alessio Galigilygano wears #12. The young keeper has done an amazing job in the games he has featured, working especially well with Galigilygano, who has taken on a sort of mentor relationship with him. But the man I want to talk about is not a keeper. It isn't a defender nor is it Malvolio or Mericci up top. It is the leading goalscorer for Erathore, a man that steps up to free kicks and bends them right where he wants them, the man is Alexio Del Nieran. Erathore's resident highest scorer and resident deadball and curving specialist, Nieran captures my attention more then anyone out there on the pitch. Finding net 21 times in 26 games for Erathore, Nieran's international and domestic game can only improve given his age of 20 years. He recently moved from EMI FC to FC Mildrid in one of the highest transfers ever in Erathore, with the total salary, including endorsements and what not, estimated to be around 150-200 million dollars.

He is one of the most successful midfielders that Erathore has ever seen. Born in Mildrid, Itazan State, Erathore, Nieran was born to Marcello Nieran (Factory worker) and Vitoria Georgina Adalina (hairdresser). Football attracted him from a young age as he started playing at the Eceto Park in Mildrid when he was merely 4 years old. Alexio Del Nieran said in an interview in 2 months ago that when teachers at school asked him "What do you want to do when you're older?" he would say that he wanted to play the beautiful game. Such is the passion and love for the game that has today catapulted his career to newer heights.

Del Nieran started his professional career in football with EMI FC on August 17th, 2007 against Seria-B powerhouse Arro. During his 3 year tenure there, he was instrumental in keeping the team from being relegated for several years. In the same year, he appeared as a starter in a league match against FC Mildrid. He scored the only goal for EMI FC in the 3-1 loss off of a free kick, bending it into the upper right hand corner past Roberto Bennedetto.

With the formation of the official Erathore National Football Team, Alexio Del Nieran received the coveted the number 7 jersey. In the 4th Commonwealth Cup, Del Nieran scored 1 goals taken from a free kick to help Erathore take 2nd.

His career with FC Mildrid is predicted to go extraordinarily well, with him already scoring several goals.

And now on to the review of the first game against Abdul Kaman Prerz Kuta. We won of course. 2-0. It was an extraordinarily boring and dull game, with our side really just messing with the other team. Abdul did have several opportunities to score though, but some brilliant and creative goalkeeping kept the ball from finding net. Our attacks were pieces of work though. An 18 pass play starting with Nieran cleanly dispossessing an opponent worked up to Mericci finding net. The other one was Mericci making a break towards the goal. With a one-on-one with the keeper and Malvolio sprinting on his right side, Mericci waited until the keeper was just starting to sprint out to reach him, whereupon he gave Malvolio a through ball and he merely tapped it in for the 2nd goal and to seal the win. We look forward to our next fixture against Civil Citizenry who tied today against North Chicanan.

Saugeais Sports Briefs
Foxes win first match in style

The Foxes looked strong and stunning in the first game of the Mangolana Soccer for Hope tournament., winning by the score of 3-0. They did have a bit of trouble in the beginning, with Chuunan driving deep into Saugeais territory, but a mis-timed pass and score only resulted in the referee calling offsides. The back and forth match continued until a shot by Maurice Dumond was deflected out by the Chuunan keeper. Taking the resulting corner, Dumond fired a bender into the box, missing the keepers hands by inches. But striker Rico Firenze was there to head the ball in for the score! More troubles came up for the Foxes as once again the Chuunan forwads pressed in the back lines. Chuunan striker Flaggy Sunder launched a great cross, but the scoring receiver once again was called for offsides, if only barely this time around. After halftime, Saugeais held the game in complete control. With Maurice Dumond scoring on a fast break in the 56th minute and John Barker rocketing a shot in the waning minutes of the game, Saugeais assured themselves the victory.

"It was great to go out and win one," said manager Harrison Pinchot. "We had everything clicking, but we need to stop letting the opposition get behind us so easily. Had they been onside, win could've been in for a fight. Maybe even have lost this game. But these kids have room to grow, and I hope they play even better next match."

Hoops Win! A Point!
National Side finally gets a point in competition

Lexi Knowles, in Central Southland, Mangolana

North Chicanan's FA finally picked a nickname for the side - Crimson Hoops - and looks like maybe we have progress in the whole development of the team as the road to the next World Cup begins.

The Hoops, under interim leader Damien O'Neil, scored after seventeen minutes thanks to Phoenix Longstreet and kept Civil Citizenry from scoring in the second half to get a 1-all result at the Citizens Payed Stadium, and with that, their first point in international competition.

The "Olympic" squad - built with some u21s, a couple u23s and two major stars of the Premiers - was looking to wash a bit of the embarrassment that occurred during the Warkus International Football/Soccer Cup, and a tie against the #4 team from the tourney is sure to help begin the process of moving forward.

O'Neil, who was an assistant under South Holland's Micah Kill during the Warkus tournament, is still the favorite to become national coach, but is using this as an audition of sorts. His assistant Derrik James is the favorite to become the u23/u21 coach under the recent NCFA decision to split the younger squads from the National/Olympic side.

Longstreet, recently named captain for the tournament, said he hoped O'Neil will become national coach, as he prefers the 3-5-2 style he uses. "It's how we play at Transvaal and it's worked for us a lot. It gives us more options and I know me and Presten (Villani) love the flexbone nature of the formation." Forward Paul Owen seconded it, saying that the additional midfielder gave the team more to play with, which showed in holding possession for 60% of the match against Civil Citizenry.

O'Neil said after the match he wanted to work on finishing the play, as several shots clanked off the topbar rather than giving the Hoops a larger lead which would have given the side the lead in Group 3. Instead they sit tied for second behind group favorite Erathore.

The Crimson Hoops will continue play in xx against Tekcirb, who will be opening their tournament, before our bye day. They return to play against Abdul Kaman Prerz Kuta before finishiong off with Erathore. With only two spots available out of Group 3, there's hope that the side can use the tie to build on and move towards the playoff round.

(OOC: I forgot to include our playing style is +2 in roster list)

LATE NEEDLE DOUBLE SINKS SPITYFRED

Sam Needle celebrates as he scores the winner.

SOCIALIST STATES OWEN 3
SPITYFRED 2

A late brace of goals from FSSO striker Sam Needle ensured that the FSSO kicked off the Soccer for Hope tournament with a win.

Spityfred were awarded a penalty only 40 seconds in when a low clearance by defender Dennis Arnold cannoned straight off Spityfreds centre forward, who took control of the ball and ran on goal. Matt Boyce sprinted back to stop him beating the keeper but mistimed his tackle and was promptly sent off as he was the last man, and conceded a penalty. The Spityfred centre forward comfortably scored the penalty to give his side an early lead. The FSSO dominated possesion but rarely got chances, and they went two behind on the 34th minute when a low, scuffed shot by the opposition found its way through the group of bodies in the box and somehow ended up in the bottom corner, much to the fury of goalkeeper Daniel Belgrave. However the FSSO pulled one back within 5 minutes, when Carlos Aduna earned a free kick on the edge of the box and drove it into the bottom right hand corner.

In the second half Spitfred decided to defend for the win but the FSSO kept pushing and the inevitable equaliser came in the 79th minute when Sam Needle found his way through the defence, played a one-two with Steve Thompson and finished from the edge of the six yard box. He completed a stunning comeback in the 87th minute with a beautifully executed shot from the edge of the box that left the opposition keeper standing. Spityfred tried to get an equaliser in stoppage time but posed little threat and the game ended 3-2.

Bennettrician Sports fans worldwide were crushed at seeing the Black Moons lose their game against Capivara Group with a score of 3-1. The Moons are focusing mostly on defensive manuevers now in the hopes of stopping a repeat game.
