Well.... that certainly didn't happen. :p

I understand that you are busy with the IBC and all, but just to let you know, if you need someone to run a tournament, I may be up for it... if, and only if, the Queenstown--Horuk co-host bid is struck down. If it's not, I'll be in for a shitload of work with that competition, so I obviously would not want to take on another tennis championship. :P

Right, I must apologize for all the delays. I'm currently on my phone at camp, where I've been for a week and a half with only limited computer access. As such, I haven't had any time to work on the ITA. Luckily, I will be returning on Saturday, after which I'll have more than enough time to devote to the ITA.

In a nutshell, the ITA is going to be semi-restarted. Players from still-existing nations will be automatically entered, with a bit of extra time for new nations to get involved. A set schedule will be created, following a season with a set beginning and ending point. Other nations besides myself can apply to host tournaments on the season list, with preference given to nations who have already applied and/or are experienced sports hosts. The current rankings from each group (men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and women's doubles) will be used as a base for the beginning of the season.

More details will be released over the weekend/next week. I apologize once again for the organizational inadequacy; life happens sometimes, unfortunately. I'm more than confident the first full ITA season will be completed by the end of the summer.

Well, it's been a long time (IMO) that a tournament has even been thought of by the ITA. I'd love to start one out this September/November. I was thinking something like the RL Roger's Cup hosted in Canada.

One venue will be host to Men's Singles in Thatius, and another will host Women's Singles somewhere else. (The Roger's Cup is hosted in one nation, Canada, but Men's Singles is in Montreal while Women's Singles is in Toronto.)

Other details I was thinking about for the tournament include limiting entries to 64 or 32 players from the current ITA Top 100 or so. Each nation would send their #1 ranked player, then if their player is again in the top 64, they will be skipped and a player from a different nation would be chosen. That way more nations could be included, since I know many sporting nations have several people in the top 64.

The draw would also be single-elimination, so once you lose, you're out.

Any thoughts on this? I'd really like the ITA to start up again after the Olympics, but I know everyone else is busy with other sports.

I am also interested in hosting another tournament, perhaps in September. We should try to get this moving again after the Olympics.

Agreed. I, as the former ITA manager and founder, like this idea to be the next tournament series. I would say rut it during the Olymypics, but it'll be enough in itself to Rp about, especially for nations like myself who wish for a hard push to remain in the top 5 nations between the summer and winter Olmypics, medals wise. ;) So that'll be my RP devotion for the next month and a half or so...

Well Olympics are over, I was thinking that I can host a tournament this month. I would scorinate Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Anyone want me to host or do anything with the ITA? I'm open since I only have class Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

I would support a Thatian bid (even with the scorination limitations) to host an ITA event. We need to get the ball rolling again. There hasn't been a tourney in months.

Kulnae, part of the Kikalo Island range near Antarctica. One of the most peaceful places in the Antarctic region. As said by the esteemed leader, Serena Nygård,
