For a start you'll need to provide more information than you have.
There is at the moment zero indication of the tracks involved, zero indication of the length of the season, zero indication as to how RP bonus will be applied, zero indication as to how many cars will be allowed on track at once, zero indication as to how the scores will be generated and with what scorinator... I could go on.

In fact at one point you mention that you'll be using the "A rules" and then you suggested that we look them up on Wikipedia. If you want people to join, you have to provided the information so that they can, not say "come join my thing! go find out how it works from someone else!", because that doesn't work.

At the moment, all that you've really provided is a list of cars that looks more like a motor racing enthusiast making a list of cars they are passionate about rather than the signup list you want it to be. Events in NSSport have structure, and you've suggested none of that so far.

Also, a six day gap between saying "more info later" and the next post isn't likely to convince people that you're going to be a dedicated host.

There may be enough interest for a touring car series in NSSport, or they may not, but it won't spontaneously happen, hosting is about a lot more work that just providing a list of cars.

1. We will use the Group A ruleset
2. There are no limits on season length and competitor size
3. Skill is worked out with the cars horsepower
4. Again, you can take a car from the above list, or enter your own
5. in case of a lack of entries, we will throw in some RL competitors
6. the series will be scorinated with xkorinate
7. Due to being set in the cold war, no commies

Post in a relevant manner.

Qazox is referring to your sig. Specifically, the part that says that you won't RP with non-Human nations. And now an explanation of why that might not work in a large-scale event like the World Cup:

Non-humans are everywhere. My nation is inhabited by sapient ponies, dragons, dogs, and a couple dozen other species, Bears Armed is inhabited by what could best be described as sapient bears, and there are many, many other nations such as Wight, Karditan, or Yesopalitha (to name a few more) that primarily use non-humans for their teams.

Stop being whiny and needy, for one. If there's no interest, it's generally due to many factors: lack of rules (and saying "look it up on Wikipedia" does not count as stating rules), lack of a scorinator to run the event, etc. that turn off potential competitors from wishing to join. Purposely bumping your own thread, and bumping with pics, is highly irregular and turns off players even more, as it is an act of desperation and attention-seeking. If you want to be taken as a credible host, participate in a few competitions first. Asking questions is good, but so far with the attitude you are taking, it's not likely you will get anywhere.

I've had this in my plans for a little while now, but before I go any further, would anyone go on a date with me? be interested in the return of Chess? Along with a new World Chess Federation, with a modified Chess Olympiad to keep people interested (More of a focus on nations, rather than individuals.)

I'm into it. Physically exerting or not, chess is certainly an activity where relative success can be measured or simulated mathematically. That's good enough for me. What is a sport, really?

No, a sport, as many know, does not necessarily involve physical exertion, because there are sports of the mind.
If that would be the definition of sport, then sport of a mind, a phrase that exists, would be an oxymoron.
But then, I saw the next few definitions. Yep, most of them confirm that chess is a sport.

Wrong. Chess is merely a mental game, much like poker. Despite many people interpreting such games as sports of the mind, a Sport is clearly defined as a physical activity

That discussion is all fairly irrelevant; as long as a scorinator is involved, it's as legitimate here as most other things.

My region is having an international event very similar to the Olympics.

The problem we've encountered is how to decide who wins the medals or not. Obviously, our populations and locations on the map differ greatly. Specialization and differentiation would occur just as it does in the Olympic Games.

Any ideas on how to decide who gets the medals or not? A fair method?

First off, it might help to have a read of the Guide to Sports Roleplaying.

Generating weighted scores is what we call scorination, and specially-made programs called scorinators are the method we use for that. The NS Olympic Games are scorinated with xkoranate, which though not overly easy to learn has all the RL Olympic sports and disciplines (and then some) and is a fair way of determining results. A word of warning, though: the Olympics are the single toughest event to host on NS Sports, with dozens of events and thousands of athletes meaning only the most seasoned hosts dare try, so be careful in deciding what you would like to do with your regionmates.

I'd like to get started here on NS sports, but it doesn't seem like anything is available (i.e tournaments have already started). How can I get started here as a newcomer? Everything is also quite confusing...

Welcome! First off read through this; as it will help you figure out what NSSports is about. There is still room in the World Baseball Classic 23 sign-ups if you are into baseball. Just missed out on the World Bowl (American Football) and you might be able to still sign up for the World Cup, though I would wait for the next Baptism of Fire (sometime in September) before starting into soccer/football. There's other sports around as well, though you might have to look for them a bit.

Any other questions, feel free to ask, and welcome once again to the sweatiest NS forum ;)

What is a sport?

Chess is a pastime, not a sport.

Using a dictionary in an argument about the borders between words is seriously weak, as I have noted elsewhere (I study descriptive linguistics). Linking to the dictionary as your entire argument is even more useless, especially when the one definition that makes up your argument is countered by every other relevant definition in the link's first page.

And then there's this:

I said its open to interpretation, but officially a sport is classified as a physical activity.
