Horse Championships (interest?)

Hello,

I am pretty new to RPing in general, and have only participated in one sports RP. I would love to host a horse race championship in Shanowinn...only problem is that I don't know how to run it really, how to score and all that. Horse racing is fairly big in Shanowinn (the title, Ahernry, is derived from Ahern, which is an ancient king-like title meaning "lord of horses").

So I am wondering a) if anyone would be interested in this, and b) if it'd be possible for someone to kindly take care of the technical stuff. I might be able to help with some of the technical stuff, of course, so that maybe I'd learn how to run something like this in the future. I just don't know how to do it yet

Yay some interest already! I have heard of Xkoranate but never used it, so do you mean that it could only cover an equestrian competition but not a race? Well I guess that would be fine. I was hoping for a race but no problem if it's not possible (unless there's a reliable system out there that someone's made for horse racing).

The funny thing is, in building up the horse tradition of Shanowinn, I almost completely overlooked equestrian competition, only really thought of racing! Oops!

Newmanistan will be your best bet for racing, I think. I believe he has a track record. So to speak.

Yeah there is only an Equestrian version in Xkoranate. Here is the link to the download page of Xkoranate if you will use it: Xkoranate Link, I'm not a great horse fan because I don't know anything about that sport. But I maybe wants to try it! Well, Saintland has held several horse racing competitions during his tenure on NS Sports. If I'm not mistaken, he simply edited the settings of the Auto Racing function on xkoranate to generate results that would be more realistic for horse racing.

In other words, it's definitely possible! I don't know much else but good luck with this, I may sign up if this comes to fruition.

All I did was create an excel formula (which factored in RP bonus) based on track records off various race distances that were used. I no longer have that spreadsheet, and it did pre-date the current xkoranate version we use as well. Anything Saintland may have done would be far more reliable. As much as I enjoy horse racing (and I may enjoy it more then anyone here), I feel having a competition that says, "this is the championship race" is like holding a World Cup with only a round of 16 and no qualifying. My horse racing season run, starting with maidens and working your way up through a prep race season is really only the type of horse racing competition that would interest me. That's what I tried with the season I ran, and it never got the RP to stay interesting. I wish you the best though.
