Map of Valanora

Valanora Information
The most important thing to know about traveling through Valanora is that automobiles are banned except for government officials. A high tech railway system connects the entirety of the nation, with three international airports in Raynor City, Gladerial, and Baysleef. A ferry from Rinaldi travels to and from the island of Capri every hour on the hour. The most distinguishing feature of Valanora is the prevalent amount of forests standing in many of the inner half of the nation, even in cities, with the elven attempts to live in harmony with nature. Vanorians are a polite if not a bit high on themselves, believing elvenkind to be superior to humans, though they show a respect for the potential their humanoid cousins have.

San Llera U-21 Roster

Name: San Llera
Trigramme: SAN
Nickname(s): SanMen (This is usually used to describe one player, a SanMan), Rotino-Fish
Head Coach: Gerra Duvale - Former San Lleran great who enforces his old-style "tough love" principles on his players
Assistant Coaches: Marco Pine, Xavier Viola
Style Modifier: -2

Starters listed first, 4-4-2 formation

Goalkeepers
Johann Van Zanten - 21 years old - Image San Llera University of Physiology - Starred for SLUP and even earned the starting spot in the Copa Rushmori. Charges off his line a bit recklessly on occasion, but is a great shot-stopper.
Chem - 20 years old - Image San Llera University of Linguistics - Led SLUL to a shock 6th place finish and became one of the better keepers in the nation, will split time with JVZ.
Robert Matheu - 18 years old - Image Pantans - A reserve for Pantans, Matheu has apparently caught the eye of Duvale and the relative unknown earned a call-up.

Defenders
Left Backs
Adalbert Sadornil - 20 years old - Image Project +90 San Llera - Smart, confident, reliable defender - rare for his age.
Marius Bareta - 19 years old - Image Campos Soldatos - An unproven but promising left back, reportedly has excellent distribution.
Center Backs.
Norman Mora - 21 years old - Image San Llera University of Linguistics - Can get lost out of position but has speed to make up for it.
Zanzibar Tejada - 18 years old - Image Chell SC - 6'7" center back who made his Chell SC debut last season and looked very impressive. Commanding in the air as expected but also very swift and capable with the ball at his feet.
Albert - 21 years old - Image San Llera University of Chemistry - Short and stocky, tackles very aggressively.
Ramon Cebria - 20 years old - Image Project +90 - Struggled in his first season with Project +90 but came into his own as a decent second division defender.
Right Backs
Horatio Cabollini - 21 years old - Image Chendito SC - Excellent passer out of the right back position.
Rice Pastano - 21 years old - Image San Llera University of Agriculture - Solid league player, can do a bit of everything.

Midfielders
Left Wings
Leo Gashi - 21 years old - Image San Llera University of Chemistry - Gashi is an excellent defender, but doesn't offer much going forward.
Lazaro Huertas - 20 years old - Image Project +90 - Great dribbling skills, works hard on defense but a bit selfish with the ball.
Center Midfielders
Gerra Sedono - 21 years old - Image Chell SC - A starter for Chell SC, Sedono is the true definition of a box-to-box midfielder, although his passing could use some brushing up.
Pataki Fuyets - 20 years old - Image Campos Soldatos - Has excellent vision, willing to get a bit scrappy.
Donalto - 18 years old - Image Guerrers - Rough defensive midfielder for Guerrers.
Xavier Ollers - 18 years old - Image Chell SC - Teammate of Sedono, but mostly a creator for Chell SC's junior side.
Right Wings
Carles Verino - 20 years old - Image Llara Llera - Prospect for Llara Llera who is very intelligent, large, and skilled for a player of his age. One of the stars of the team.
Blai Fontaneta - 17 years old - Image Camp Pende - Looked like a 17-year-old in his two appearances in the top flight.

Strikers
Esteve Quitiella - 20 years old - Image Llara Llera - Still hasn't quite broken through at Llara Llera, has got skill and cleverness and will start but little athleticism
Miquel Jover - 19 years old - Image Porta Llora - Clever striker, a bit of a poacher.
Paquito - 18 years old - Image Llerana SC - Young, tiny, pacy striker.
Simi Ceresola - 19 years old - Image Selvadores - Another short striker who has drawn comparisons to Carles Mestre for his clever runs and very good right foot.

History has been made for the Imperial Island of Tomikosan, as the Under-21 Squad will participate in the first ever international football tournament! The youth players are eager to win games and eventually lift the trophy if they win in the finals. The fans are very exited to see their team playing against opponents they never met before. Coaches and committee members hoped that they have good luck in them in group stage matches. While haters say they won't last long in the tournament, everyone's hopes are undeniable. In this wonderful debut, will the Vocaloid Army be able to pass the group stage in this amazing Youth Tournament?

Formation:
4-3-3 with Left Wing/Right Wing

First 11

GK - Alexander Hudson (19 y/o, Goldlion Arsenal)

Tipped as the future guardian of the goalposts of the National Team, Hudson is the Arsenal's third choice goalkeeper. He didn't play much throughout the Arsenal's title winning campaign, but when he played for the reserves he showed real potential, making some world-class saves. He is a bit error prone, however, and is easily unnerved.

LB - Thomas Krabb (17 y/o, Connaught FC)

Krabb has broken his way into the Connaught first team squad under new manager Bruce Edwards, along with captain Almar Hussein. He is a bit less clumsy on the ball now, and is a master at clearing balls upfield.

CB - Joel Tyler (20 y/o, Thurmond City)

Tyler is back for his last Di Bradini Cup - and the young defender is maturing very nicely. A speedy and technical defender, Tyler's passing ability and vision might be a bit off but his ball control is exquisite.

CB - Charlie Lester (20 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi - Abanhfleft)

As one of the two exports Tumbran football has made to the worldwide footballing community, Lester certainly has matured greatly from the last time he was in the Di Bradini Cup. A jack-of-all-trades, his defending skills are average but one thing that he is excellent at is heading.

RB - Sebastian Lawrence (18 y/o, Thurmond United)

The Thurmond United academy is extremely famous for producing extremely talented footballers that waste their career in the reserves and are shipped off to some lower league team once their contract is up - but that is not what has happened in Lawrence's (or Lawro as the fans call him) case. Lawro has proved the exception in United's dismal season - he managed to drag the team all the way to a Globe Cup spot through his superb defending. Slow as he is, Lawro has a massive physical bulk and will use that to any ability.

CM - Kyle Sanders (19 y/o, Waterford City)

Sanders is the only player in this team to hail from Sofan - and he plays like a Sofanese footballer, being fast and light on the ball, with not-so-great vision, and yet is still only 17. He could be in the senior Tumbran team in times to come, but those days are still far off.

CM - Luke de Coubertin (17 y/o, Unattached)

It seems that the new coach has followed the old one in making unorthodox team choices. de Coubertin is merely seventeen, and has had trials from numerous clubs eager to make use of his excellent footballing skills, being able to float around the midfield - but he has not signed on for any one. What, then, is he looking for?

CM - Stephen Atkins (18 y/o, Goldlion Arsenal)

Another player from the Arsenal, Atkins played in seven matches during their title-winning campaign and was admittedly rather average during those seven matches. However, when he played for the U21 team, he showed flashes of brilliance not seen when he played with the senior team, which begs the question of whether he's being wheeled into the first team too early. An excellent passer and chance-creator, often playing as a raumdeuter - someone who looks for space in the opponents line and exploits it. While his finishing is lacking, the other attributes of his makes him a key player for the team.

LW - Almar Hussein (18 y/o, Connaught FC) - Captain

Aerial Almar, as the fans call young Almar Hussein, is the aerial king of the Tumbran team. Able to head almost any ball that comes his way, Hussein is one of a new breed of Tumbrans that are highly regarded as the future of Tumbran football. Excellent ball control makes him a very technical footballer. His long passing could be better, but apart from that he's generally considered an alright footballer for his age.

ST - Tristan Hale (20 y/o, Mosjoen XI)

Tristan Hale was infamous for cracking three matches into the previous Di Bradini Cup - and an infamous fallout with his father, footballing legend Stephen Hale, led him to being loaned to Mosjoen XI. Now, it seems, he has taken matters into his own hands, and after dragging them to survival, has made the deal permanent. He is still rather slow, however, and his positioning isn't the best either, but Hale's powerful finishing ability is said to rival even that of his father's.

RW - Edward Richardson (19 y/o, Thurmond City)

Richardson is one of the more controversial players to take part in this campaign. Accusations of him diving to gain an unfair advantage have surfaced, most notably from his detractors. While fast and able to deliver stunning crosses into the box, he's not much else. His teammates and manager have defended him, saying that he is just unstable on the ball.

Subs + Reserves

GK - John Byrne (17 y/o, Chalk Wharf)

Byrne is a product of the Chalk Wharf academy - another academy famous for shipping out players year after year to lower league clubs without the chance to ever don the Chalkers' jersey. This is his chance to make his name on the stage - if he could only get some playtime. The set-piece stopper has potential, but he isn't getting playtime at his club and isn't likely to get any here.

GK - William Lescott (16 y/o, Merton FC)

Lescott was called up to replace Andrew Carr, who had a couple of absolutely terrible matches in the previous iteration of the Cup. Already being seen as a name for the next Tumbran goalkeeper, he has matured well and looks set to become even better in the future.

LB - Ivan Elliot (20 y/o, Humoor Eagles)

Elliot had a superb debut season for the Eagles in his left-back position, and his reward is a place on the team. While rumours persist that he is moving to Connaught FC (as all semi-decent Humoor Eagles players seem to do), Elliot is determined not to let that get him down.

CB - Harrison Lee (19 y/o, Connaught FC)

Harrison Lee hails from the neighbouring town of Thurmond, but was poached by Connaught FC's scouts to join their very reputable youth system. Already extremely mature, Harrison is the speediest player on the team, but not much else.

CB - Jackson Paul (19 y/o, Wildrspring Wanderers)

Paul becomes one of the few black young men to make it into the footballing scene, with there still being allegations of racism from the predominantly white footballing scene in Tumbra. Strong, athletic and fast, Paul certainly is the spiritual successor to Gale Hartwidge, who now waits for a call-up to the full national team.

CB - Quentin Gardner (20 y/o, Humboldt Albion)

Gardner is a limited defender - one that passes balls on to the next level of the playing field, the midfield. Preferring short passes to long passes, Gardner is good at what he does, but he is not very versatile. Lack of physicality also hurts him.

RM - John Sangford (20 y/o, West Langham)

Sangford was a virtual unknown to all but the most dedicated West Langham fan - only rising to prominence after scoring a brace in a regelation six-pointer a few years back, saving West Langham from relegation. Since then, Sangford has only looked up, being an adept player wherever he plays - on the wings or in the middle. He is not very fast, and his crosses leave something to be desired.

LM - Lewis Holt (19 y/o, Metz FC)

Lewis has already made a name for himself as the cleanest player in the entire Premiership, and that is surprising because Holt is supposed to be a left defensive midfielder, one that normally picks up a lot of bookings. The mercurial striker is rapidly rising up the ranks of the Metz FC playing order, and is on course to be a first team starter come next year - which is amazing for a player merely seventeen years old. Fast, his one shortcoming is that he cannot kick the ball high.

CAM - Nathaniel Hodsgon (20 y/o, Humoor Eagles)

Son of famous footballer Henry Hodsgon, Nathaniel is struggling to break out of his father's shadow. Nathaniel and Henry share the same attributes - both are excellent at heading, both enjoy (or enjoyed) playing as trequartistas, and both aren't very fast. Nat will spend the entirety of this campaign attempting to create his own identity, and not just "Henry Hodsgon's son".

CDM - Frankie Valentino (20 y/o, Chalk Wharf)

Valentino is one of the Wharf academy players that actually managed to make it into the first team of Chalk Wharf FC, but has been sidelined throughout the campaign with injuries. When he did play, however, he was excellent and managed to get the Man of the Match award two times of the six that he started, and being Chalk Wharf's highest rated player on five of those six occasions. Slow yet physical, Valentino seems to fit right into the "hard man" image that was cultivated in the 1980s by Alex Curtin and more recently Robert Byrd.

CM - Bennie Dalton (19 y/o, Rothes Rovers)

Dalton is one of the few box-to-box midfielders in the Premiership, or all four levels of the Tumbran football ladder at that. Extremely physically fit, Dalton's stamina seems to be superhuman, yet when his energy level drops off, his footballing skills drastically decrease as well. Heading is not his strong suit, but his vision is extraordinary.

ST - Oliver Ganson (18 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City - Abanhfleft)

How far the young one has come. Oliver Ganson, who just two years ago was playing football at the lowest league level, is now playing for one of the best clubs in Abanhfleft. The breakout success of the previous Cup, Ganson fired the Young Lions to a third placed finish. Quick and always on the ball, Ganson is almost a dead cert to be Henry Pandon's successor once he retires.

The Manager - Sook Jin Yi (QUE)

The unlikely choice to head the team following Robin Stoff's unceremonious sacking (and later reinstatement as NT coach) was the Quebecois Sook Jin Yi. Formerly manager of the Nova Anglicanian national team, his ultra-attacking style will certainly draw a whole host of eyes his way - but is offence really the best defence?

About Tumbra

A map of Tumbra can be found here.

The Royal Federal Republic of Tumbra is a nation of over 67 million people is an extremely diverse nation, welcoming people from all around the world to its shores. Tumbra has often been called an "immigrant nation", simply because it has so many cultures and values that the traditional Tumbran identity has been moulded and kneaded to fit the new Tumbran demographic. That being said, however, 87.1% of the population is still white - but the proportion of nonwhite people is significantly higher in metropolitan areas.

A great Wikipedia article on the nation can be found here.

Tumbra: Weather

Tumbra has a temperate climate, with plentiful rainfall all year round. The temperature varies with the seasons seldom dropping below −11 °C (12 °F) or rising above 35 °C (95 °F). The prevailing wind is from the south-west and bears frequent spells of mild and wet weather from the Sarian Sea, although the eastern parts are mostly sheltered from this wind since the majority of the rain falls over the western regions the eastern parts are therefore the driest. Sarianese currents, warmed by the Paradystopian Cheese Desert, bring mild winters; especially in the west where winters are wet and even more so over high ground. Summers are warmest in the south-east of Tumbra, being closest to the Esportivan Federal Republic mainland, and coolest in the north. Heavy snowfall can occur in winter and early spring on high ground, and occasionally settles to great depth away from the hills.

Some packing advice that the Foreign Office has for travellers is to pack warm clothes. Always, always consult the Met Office, the Environment Agency or the Lackish Environment Protection Agency for additional information and advice on the weather.

If tourists decide to go on hikes, here are some precautions to take.

- never practice these activities alone;
- always hire an experienced guide from a reputable company;
- buy travel insurance that covers helicopter rescue and medical evacuation;
- ensure that your physical condition is good enough to meet the challenges of your activity;
- advise a family member or friend of your itinerary, including when you expect to be back to camp;
- know the symptoms of acute altitude sickness, which can be fatal;
- sign up with your embassy's location service; and,
- obtain detailed information on trekking routes or ski slopes before setting out and do not venture away from marked trails or slopes.

Tumbra: Religion

While previously an extremely devout nation, Tumbra has seen a gradually increasing number of people becoming non-religious ever following 1945. The two main religions present in the nation include Humanism and Protestantism, with 36% and 22% of the population identifying themselves as that. 21% of people identified as non-religious, while the remainder were made up of minor religions.

That being said, however, tourists should not attempt to incite violence against any creed or faith - such an incident will result in immediate deportation to the tourist's home country and a ban on entering the country for five years minimum.

Tumbra: Travel

Travelling to Tumbra is not very difficult. All one needs to do is to obtain a visa before setting off on one's trip to Tumbra, which will be approved 95% of the time - unless there is a very blatant security concern, after which the tourist will be detained and brought in for questioning. International flights land at many airports throughout Tumbra, though the main airport served is the Goldlion City International Airport, in the south-west of Goldlion.

Within Tumbra itself, however, it is more than recommended that tourists use public transport when commuting in Tumbra. Tumbra has an extensive rail network, and tourists are advised to use those instead, as the roads are excellent but are often narrow and congested, especially in urban areas.

Traffic drives on the left. Use caution when entering a traffic circle (roundabout). Pedestrians should use caution when crossing streets and be mindful that traffic is usually coming from the opposite direction than what they may be used to.

If using taxis, only use officially marked ones - however, carsharing applications like Uber are allowed in the country.

Tumbra: Language

The lingua franca and the national language is English - most Tumbrans often do not understand much else. The outlying Territories - Lackland, Sofan and Artumo - have their own dialects and languages which are recognised by the constituent countries, but not by the official Tumbran government, which uses English for all official purposes.

Tumbra: Food

Tumbran cuisine is the specific set of cooking traditions and practices associated with Tumbra. Tumbran cuisine has been described as "unfussy dishes made with quality local ingredients, matched with simple sauces to accentuate flavour, rather than disguise it." However, Tumbran cuisine has absorbed the cultural influence of those who have settled here, producing many hybrid dishes, such as chicken tikka masala - the national dish of Tumbra.

Tumbran cuisine has traditionally been limited in its international recognition to the full breakfast, fish and chips, and the Christmas dinner. Other Tumbran dishes include the Sunday roast, steak and kidney pie, shepherd's pie, and bangers and mash. Tumbran cuisine has many regional varieties within the broader categories of Nicodian, Lacklandian and Artumoan cuisine. Each has developed its own regional or local dishes, many of which are geographically indicated foods such as Cornish pasties, the Pilkshire pudding, Cumberland Sausage, Arbroath Smokie, and Artumo cakes.

Tumbra: Sports

Tumbra's national sport is football, though rugby union and cricket are often in with a shout. Tumbran supporters are usually very rowdy, sometimes crossing over into hooliganism - something which the authorities have absolutely zero tolerance for, local or otherwise.

It is recommended not to insult football supporters who are drunk, incapitated, or worse. Doing so may spark a riot, which has happened in the past.

The use of fire-related items (like flares) are strictly prohibited inside stadiums. If discovered, the offender will recieve a fine and have the offending item confiscated. Hooliganism is absolutely not tolerated and will be dealt with strictly.

The Stadia

Wembley National Stadium, Goldlion City - 90,000

Image

The National Stadium is certainly the largest dedicated football stadium in Tumbra - and that is saying a lot. Located in the north of Goldlion City, traffic from there and the airport is usually atrocious, but the Tube does have a dedicated system servicing the station on matchdays.

City of Thurmond Stadium, Thurmond - 53,000

Image

Home to Thurmond City FC, this stadium, while not the largest stadium in Thurmond (New Trafford takes that title), is certainly the more modern one. Located just a hop, a skip and a jump away from the city centre, and five kilometres away from the airport (with a direct train service to boot).

Thefield Stadium, Connaught - 44,742

Image

Thefield Stadium (pronounced Theh-feld) is located in Connaught, fifty-six kilometres from Thurmond, and is home to Connaught FC - some of the league's most dedicated supporters. While not the newest stadium, Tumbra fans are known to show a great atmosphere while there. Easily reachable by train, plane or car.

The start of a new World Cup cycle sees Mercedini's U21 national side head to Valanora to compete in the 38th Di Bradini Cup (aka The 59th U21 World Cup). Mercedini send a strong side to Valanora with 10 members of the senior national side, including Ben Chillotov who is Mercedini's second highest goal-scorer (after Sgt. Sam Billic)
Mercedini have been drawn in a tough Group D, with enthusiastic newcomers Qasden, Azrea aswell as football powerhouses and household name RK Quebec. There will be plenty of hype for the group of footballers from Mercedini and plenty of fans have made their way to Valanora to watch the next generation of Mercedinian footballers play their first competitive U21 championship.
The Di Bradini cup is a relative unknown for the U21 national side, but with many well-known faces in the senior team competing in the Baptism of Fire, World Cup and Cup of Harmony, they have some pedigree in competitive tournament. Mercedini will play their first match against Qadsen and that will surely set the tone for the entire tournament.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM - MIXED

This will be the seventh time that Abanhfleft will be participating in the Di Bradini Cup. Ever since the team finished third in Di Bradini 33, it has been a period of ups and downs for the team. First, Di Bradini 34, considered as Abanhfleft's best chance to have won some silverware, was mysteriously discontinued for unknown reasons. Then the team was knocked out in the group stages of Di Bradini 35 by Farfadillis, and then they were knocked out in the round of 16 of Di Bradini 36 by a Pasarga team that decided to show up at that exact game. And then in Di Bradini 37, they were knocked out by a very motivated Tumbra side. Will Di Bradini 38 finally be the tournament where Abanhfleft's youngsters win it all?

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: Blue, orange, and green
Style modifier: +3.5
Formation: 4-3-1-2 (This will be standard unless I change it through RPs)
Head coach: Celerino delos Reyes (61 y/o, Philippines)

STARTERS
GK: Orestes Katsouranis III 20 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Image, male
The son of Marinos Thimpodopoulos manager Orestes Katsouranis Jr., Orestes III's inclusion into both the Marinos and Fleftic under-21s squad may seem like nepotism, but his shining performances for the Marinos U-21s in the Professional Development League (Men's Division) (keeping fifteen clean sheets on the way to a second-place finish in the league) have proven that he has what it takes to represent the Democratic Republic. He has finally managed to displace Ursula Qatintiki from between the sticks of the under-21 team, but only because Ursula's actually turned 22 and was no longer eligible for the team.

RB: Horace Popov 20 y/o, Dinamo Bender Image (Pridnestrovia), male
A member of the Fleftic under-21 team's backroom staff happened upon Popov while playing Championship Football Manager and noticed that the kid had high defensive potential. Popov is still a diamond in the rough, but some experience under the wing of Melisizwe Afolayan could see him become a potential star. Whether it's for his mother's homeland Abanhfleft or his birth country Pridnestrovia still remains to be seen, but for now, while he's still under the age of 21, he's Abanhfleft's man. With Afolayan now ineligible, it's up to Popov to make an impact that will keep him in a white shirt.

RCB: Terri Hartin 21 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies Image, female
Hartin once served as backup to Melisizwe Afolayan, but now that Kristin Pittmann is ineligible for the under-21 team due to her age, Hartin has been placed in a right-center back role due to other player options not being deemed match ready by delos Reyes. She did well in a position that she's a little uncomfortable with, but her defensive liabilities were properly exploited by Pasarga during their round of 16 matchup. But after some time in the middle of the pitch, it is hoped that Hartin has finally learned to cope with being a center back.

LCB: Ainsley Gibson 21 y/o, Submarine Yeralenko Image, male, captain
Gibson has large shoes to fill in following the graduation of Rory Edwards to the senior team and Celerino delos Reyes' decision to give the captain's armband to Gibson. Perhaps delos Reyes would have been better off if he had given the armband to Cedric Pearson or Joe Warren, but after Gibson's commanding performance as captain of the under-18s, Owen Bevan would have none of it. Gibson is a speedy center-back, which used to serve as the perfect foil to Kristin Pittmann's rock-solid presence on the pitch, but with Pittmann now ineligible, he's had to work hard to limit his attacking runs, especially now that this tendency of his was exploited by Pasarga in that fateful round of 16 matchup.

LB: Georgine Baum 14 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image, female
Another player with foreign roots playing for the Democratic Republic. This time, Georgine's parents are immigrants, or rather expats, from Pridnestrovia, who escaped the country after her father said a few things that were not to President Field Marshal Stepan Stepanenko's liking. Georgine is more than likely to play for Abanhfleft in the future, but stranger things have happened. Arkadia Zubarenko did end up playing for Pridnestrovia after years in Abanhfleft's youth teams. Somehow, despite being just fourteen, she's already in the under-21 team, and she's starting. Has Celerino delos Reyes finally lost his mind, or is there a method to his madness?

RDM: DeAngelo Levin 21 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Image, male
Nothing much was seen of Levin during the Sporting World Cup, but we'll finally get to see a lot of him in this tournament since he's stepping into the right defensive midfield role once occupied by Cedric Pearson, who's now too old to be part of the under-21 squad. Still nothing much else noteworthy to report about him, although it looks like he could be loaned out to an Unang Liga team in the January transfer window. He was indeed loaned out to Thereisnogodistan FC, and it looked as if he was one of the deciding factors in getting them up to the Premier League.

CDM: Luĉjo Miĥaelo Kleinmann 20 y/o, Malabon SC (first team) Image, male, vice-captain
Kleinmann is finally in the starting eleven of the Fleftic under-21 team, much to the relief of Malabon SC fanboys as well as Kleinmann fanboys. Everyone knows how good he is as a central defensive mid, and now he has proven that he can do it on a regular basis after finally earning the starting spot that the now-ineligible Joe Warren once occupied. Well, except for the fact that he was completely and utterly shit in the big game against Pasarga. Is he really as good as people think he is, or is he just another hyped-up talent who can't perform in the big games?

LDM: Jeanine Stober 21 y/o, Underfell Image (Anglatia), female
Has the potential to be a real ball distributor, if only she could turn her two left feet into a proper pair with a right foot and a left foot. She was transferred to Underfell in Anglatia along with Fhulghamous Peninsula's Kay Steensen in exchange for making Blaze Chrzanowska's loan spell in the Aeroflot Stadium permanent.

CAM: Marietta Toksvig 21 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image, female
Many questioned Toksvig's addition to the squad starting from the ill-fated Di Bradini 34 campaign, but once she hit the ground running in the Sporting World Cup, she has certainly proved her worth, both to Celerino delos Reyes and to Godric Wexler. Rumors are that she will get a number of games as a substitute and, depending on Abanhfleft's situation in the tournament, could even get a start or two. Now she will start the entirety of Di Bradini 38, unless of course if she gets injured.

RS: Kareem Dagen 19 y/o, Eikborg Club Image (Semarland), male
Dagen can be described as the breakout player of the Sporting World Cup, scoring 10 goals and leading Abanhfleft to second place in the aforementioned tournament. His amazing performance as a striker led to his signing by Eikborg Club, a Semarlandish club competing in the Globe Cup, making him the first ever Fleftic player to sign for a foreign league other than Pridnestrovia, Oontaz Dert Li Ng and Copper Cuprum. Dagen's quality performance in the Sporting World Cup also earned him a starting spot in the Fleftic under-21s, over the likes of Garrett Krantz and Irina Babarushchik. Now he's starting because those other players are now ineligible as well.

LS: Annamarie Sabado 19 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image, female
Sabado has the makings of being "the next Fleftic super-sub." No less a footballing authority than Arsenal de Releinthi manager Godric Wexler said so after Sabado had scored the game-winning goal against Lutine to give Abanhfleft a ticket to the Sporting World Cup final. And, judging from her inclusion into the under-21 squad by Celerino delos Reyes, the Filipino might be looking to do the same, this time in the Di Bradini Cup.

RESERVES (All players are members of their league team's youth squads unless otherwise noted)
GK: Brook Arzate 18 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Image, male
Yet another Marinos player carried over from the under-18 squad, Arzate has barely played any games, both for his club and his country, and his chances of starting in this tournament are equally slim. However, this is a good opportunity for him to learn international quality football, so it's not all lose-lose for him.

GK: Margaret Dennis 16 y/o, Admiral Porcusces WomenImage, female

DF: Eileen Onyu 19 y/o, West Releinthi City Ladies Image, female
First of all, enough of the punny name jokes. Second, Catarina Soler has finally turned 22 after a million years, allowing someone else to occupy the bench spot that the budding Air Force sergeant had made her own for the last sixty gazillion years. But whereas Soler was confident with her ability and saw no need to improve upon herself, Onyu knows that she's got a lot to learn before she can even challenge for a starting spot. But a bench spot is good enough for her, and she's got the likes of Ainsley Gibson to learn the tools of the trade.

DF: Colleen Adams 20 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Ladies Image, female
The first and perhaps only "true unknown" in the current squad, this is the first time that Adams has been called up to represent Abanhfleft, and whether she will get to represent the blue, orange and green in this Di Bradini Cup still remains to be seen. One year later and no one still knows what she can do for the team. Maybe it's moral support from the bench? No one knows.

DF: Miranda Sullins 18 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Ladies Image, female
An exciting prospect if only for the fact that she had gotten herself noticed through the Sporting Ceneisis youth academy, which had been a bit neglected by Artemio Peres in favor of getting players both locally and abroad for as much as his team's Bellinsgauzenian boss is willing to let him spend. Still, it wouldn't do to take away from the fact that she is indeed a good defender, if a bit raw even for the standards of the under-21 teams. And an international call-up such as thing can do no harm to her career. Right?

DF: Caleb Wayne 17 y/o, Duhblakk Rovers Image, male

MF: Lashaunda Datta 18 y/o, All-Inclusive Haranguer Image, female
The product of Haranguer's burgeoning mixed-gender youth academy, Datta has the potential to be a real world-class defensive midfielder. If only she could realize that and stop being too much of a defender or too much of an attacker. Hopefully some time watching recognized international DMs could set her head straight.

MF: Dorothy Castellano 18 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Women Image, male

MF: Arthur MacAlistair 18 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive FC Image, male

MF: Cecily Segovia 15 y/o, Ladies of Santos FC Image (Oontaz Dert Li Ng), female
CeCe is the foil to Trinidad Kleist's hard-hitting CDM. The Oontaz-born central midfielder is the creative outlet for the midfield, setting up passes and long balls to initiate the attack. But that doesn't mean she shirks from her defensive responsibilities. Still, like Trinnie, CeCe is still a bit enthusiastic with the sliding tackles and will get her name on the referee's notebook a fair few times. Another member of the second-place under-15 team from Schottia who got an inclusion into the under-21 team.

FW: Claudia Roos 15 y/o, Dinamo Bender Women Image (Pridnestrovia), female
Claudia is the player on the under-15 team who is most likely to end up representing another nation once she hits the senior level. Abanhfleft is enjoying Claudia's services while she's still with the team, as she is already turning into a future star winger, what with her pace, crossing ability, and incisive runs into the box. Pridnestrovia will come knocking for her, and the SFA knows it, but while she's still playing for the blue, orange, and green, Claudia is Abanhfleft's best under-15 player, and because of that, she merits a spot on the bench of the under-21s.

FW: Arkady "Arlie" Rozier 15 y/o, Union Rheinburg Image (Pridnestrovia), male
Another Pridnestrovian player born in Abanhfleft who looks like he could be poached by the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States. Arlie has serviceable hold-up play but questionable finishing and ball distribution skills. He's also a bit selfish, preferring to shoot the ball himself even if there is a teammate in a better scoring position. But he's just 14 years old. Surely he can learn how to improve himself and his technique, right? Right?

FW: Margarita Stephenson 19 y/o, Antslinngs Islands Ladies Image, female
One of the best penalty, free kick and corner kick takers. Unfortunately just about shite in everything else. A bench spot and training camp with international quality strikers could hopefully help her improve. Apparently not, as even she is bottom in the list of forwards which includes two 14-year-olds!

As I had already compiled these rankings in my newswire, the time spent ranking players need not be considered in the RP Bonus, only the content of the RP

SanLeagueRank

Welcome back to SanLeagueRank, as we rank the 60th-51st best players in the San Lleran League last year.

60. Lionel Roca
| Nationality: Image San Llera | Club: Patria Poble | Position: RW | Composite Rating: 7.43 |
Lionel Roca is one of those players who can do "a little bit of everything", from crossing the ball, cutting inside to shoot, playing defense, etc. For two Di Bradini Cups he sat on the bench, but is now a starter at Patria Poble, and a decent one at that, scoring, assisting, and doing his part defensively. Not a flashy player by any means, but gets the job done.

59. Pau Milla
| Nationality: Image San Llera | Club: Cremando Llera | Position: LB | Composite Rating: 7.45 |
It is a testament to the shallowness of the left back pool in this league that Pau Milla is third-best at his position. It's not that he's bad - he's had a great career - but the 36-year-old is dwindling rapidly. The consistency and awareness that trademarked his seven years in the league is still there, but he's easily outran and outjumped by opposing wingers and strikers. Intelligence only lasts you so long.

58. Fran Galic
| Nationality: Image Pasarga | Club: AS Mantegapa | Position: CB | Composite Rating: 7.52 |
Since being signed on a free some five seasons ago, Fran Galic has progressed from a raw prospect to a serviceable top flight center back. The size and pace was always there, but his positioning constantly let him down. Galic has since improved, and last year was a crucial part of an AS Mantegapa defense which let in just 31 goals.

57. Deuce Keller
| Nationality: Image Brenecia | Club: Amici Llano | Position: RB | Composite Rating: 7.54 |
Deuce Keller brought his Brenecian dirtiness and passion to San Llera, and was adored by fans for it, if not opposing players. Known for his studs-up tackles and occasional postgame tirades, Keller was a surprisingly effective fullback back in his day. Unfortunately, age has caught up to the 36-year-old.

56. Videl Posada
| Nationality: Image Amazonesta | Club: Chell SC | Position: DM | Composite Rating: 7.56 |
Videl Posada spent several years in the San League and nearly won a title with Chell SC, the team for which he acted as a workhorse and midfield reducer. Posada was always near the top of the leaderboards in tackles, and his distribution and occasional runs forward were effective as well. Unfortunately, his age has seen him take a reduced role for both his national team and Los Volcans.

55. Sergi Moves
| Nationality: Image San Llera | Club: Chell SC | Position: CB | Composite Rating: 7.74 |
Former Di Bradini Cup competitor Sergi Moves is known for the incredibly deep back line that he commands at Chell SC. He is intent on never letting through balls in, so he plays at a very deep position, with the trade-off being virtually no offside calls and a lot of room to shoot. With this said, he is always blocking or contesting shots, and Chell SC finished second last year, so who is saying it didn't work?

54. Josep Merlin
| Nationality: Image San Llera | Club: Familia Llano | Position: ST | Composite Rating: 7.75 |
Often seen as the right-hand man of Carles Mestre, Josep Merlin earns his paycheck by combining with his star teammate, and keeping opposing defenses honest. When those defenses are not honest, Merlin touts his wares and shows that he can score as well. His rocket left foot has drawn him comparisons to Andreu Mallet, and his runs off the ball are very clever, helping him to 13 goals last season and 86 in his career.

53. Jarryd Joyce-Stoner
| Nationality: Image Royal Kingdom of Quebec | Club: Selvadores | Position: ST | Composite Rating: 7.78 |
Jarryd Joyce-Stoner was brought on by Selvadores to help them survive their inaugural season in the top flight, and that he did, scoring 12 times, including in the relegation playoff. The Quebecois striker, known for his temper and copious drug use, also is pacy and clever with his movement, and can finish clinically.

52. Marc Abello
| Nationality: Image San Llera | Club: Pantans | Position: CB | Composite Rating: 7.78 |
Pantans center back Marc Abello only got his career started at age 28 due to a horrific knee injury which sidelined him for seven years, but nonetheless became one of the best passing center backs in San Llera. Now at 38, and having retired after last season, it is a shame that he could not play more, but he had an illustrious career with Pantans and is one of the club's legends.

51. Boris Chevetchkov
| Nationality: Image San Llera | Club: Camp Pende | Position: RW | Composite Rating: 7.80 |
Just as Merlin was to Mestre several spots up, right winger Boris Chevetchkov is the main accomplice to Dwight, the star man up top for Camp Pende. Chevetchkov and Dwight has almost telepathic awareness of each other's positions, and are constantly combining. Hence the winger racked up 33 assists in his seven seasons.

CENIAN ROSTER FOR DI BRADINI CUP 38 >>>

OVERALL INFORMATION >>>
Ceni's senior team has consistently gained the reputation of being a very attacking side - send the ball up the field and try to score on it. However, during the World Cup qualifying campaign, this strategy - which emphasized heading up to the goal, no matter what the cost - proved to be Ceni's undoing as lesser-rated sides took advantage of overextensions and lack of credible threats in the midfield. In the 35th Di Bradini Cup, Manager Corran Artis decided to, instead, look into developing more competent midfielders and defenders on the youth side of the coin in order to rectify this glaring problem. Indeed, during training camp, Artis urged his team to be smart about their attacking play - go when there is an opportunity, not just when they have the ball. He realized that opportunistic play would be the best way for Ceni's football to further develop, and he has taken that ideal to heart when training Ceni's first ever Di Bradini Cup team and selecting their formation. Many football observers have noted that it was among Ceni's best crop of youngsters, with several young and emerging talents present on this team. Because these players know each other - and, indeed, have played with each other, as part of the Pinnacle Project - they have developed strong bonds of friendship and teamwork. The Cenian Football Federation hoped that the combination of the talent and Artis's innovative football strategy would produce a good run for Ceni's team at the Di Bradini Cup. They did have a good run, with Kira Koromin declared the best player of the tournament as the Cenian team reached the finals, losing to fierce rivals Cosumar.

Artis, however, was forced to retire from his post due to health issues, and the Cenian Football Federation, in keeping with their new adoption of the System Takil principles, appointed a new manager to head up the Cenian Di Bradini Cup team: Peter Petrossian, a Cenian of Armenian descent, who was one of the initial promulgators of that principle within the CFF itself. He takes to the team an aggressive strategy that tries to pressure the opponents and allows the team to convert off even the slightest of opportunities. He has also selected a fairly flexible 3-2-2-3 formation for this tournament, with the midfield able to easily convert from offense to defense. Despite playing down the importance of the defense, Petrossian has focused his efforts on the midfield as well as the forwards, believing that any success must come from the midfield; strikers can't create chances without help from the midfield, he believes. The team recorded an undefeated group stage before losing in an upset to Quebec in the Round of 16. The team will certainly want to avenge their shock defeat and finally take home a title...

Manager: Peter Petrossian

GOALKEEPERS
Juan Pablo Morales GK (20) Image Viento Oeste
Juan Pablo Morales is Ceni's most promising young goalkeeper. Playing with the Cenian side Viento Oeste, he won the Cenileague Golden Gloves his first season at age 17, and third place this past season. He has good reflexes and has good saves; the most important part about his performance, though, is his ability to coordinate the defense so that they don't concede as many goals. It's a great accomplishment to be a good goalkeeper in the Cenian league, especially because it it so high scoring and aggressive. If Morales has some good experience with the Cenileague, then he has good potential to do well internationally as well.

Luke Khasek GK (18) Image Cenial United
Luke Khasek was thrown into Cenial United's goalkeeping mix after their normal starting goalkeeper, Aitor Abasolo, developed an injury to his knee. After a few blunders, though, he never looked back, conquering his jittery nerves to come in second place for the Cenileague Golden Gloves award, behind only Juan Pablo Morales. Khasek plays everything down to instinct and has good reflexes all around. Generally, when he's in a high pressure situation, he won't have too many nerves and always acts calm, cool, and collected.

Lucas d'Jek GK (20) Image Whitehaven Triumph
Lucas d'Jek held up the Whitehaven Triumph side that has done very well in the Cenileague 2; he did well supporting the very aggressive side at the goal.

DEFENDERS >>>
Cicero Solis Vela LB (18) Image Viento Oeste
Cicero Solis Vela forms part of the backbone of the Viento Oeste defense, one of the most solid in Cenileague for the past few seasons. It seems that Ceni produces a lot of good left backs who are right footed - and Solis Vela is no exception to this observation. He always runs for every ball and tracks the ball easily, while coordinating very well with goalkeeper Juan Pablo Morales to help remove any chances for offensive attacks on his team's goal. He is a true team player and also works well with other defenders as part of Viento Oeste's team; he should do the same here at the Di Bradini Cup. Overall, Solis Vela might be one of the most promising defenders Ceni has produced.

Liam Lorechian (C) CB (21) Image Polaris
Liam Lorechian has a balanced style of play and excels at agility, man-to-man marking, and dispossession, and he relishes the chance to take the ball into the midfield. He tends to go up to advance the ball - so he can also play in the defensive midfield a bit because of this propensity. Although this can make his defense a bit leaky, it works well to move the ball back up the field and get the ball back in play from any failed defensive attempts. Most importantly, Lorechian is good with is feet and is quite speedy around the field to get to wherever the ball is so he can defend.

Nick Torabi RB (21) Image Polaris
Of Persian descent, Torabi immigrated to Ceni with his family when he was 12 after learning to play football on the streets of his native country. Torabi excels at marking and manager Artis’s new zonal defense, as well as providing a credible passing option for the center when it has successfully dispossessed the offense of the ball. Pinnacle Project has chosen to start Torabi this season due to his excellent agility with his feet and the ball as well as his overall strong build, which should make him a credible threat to any offensive-minded player wishing to score. When Polaris was bought by a Guayabalense oil tycoon, they had some money to spend on a quality defender, but they chose a homegrown talent, Torabi, instead, recognizing his talent.

Chiara Kavos LB (21) Image Eastern Stars
Miri Windtide CB (19) Image Myrmidon
Astara Khan RB (19) Image Pinnacle Project

Chiara Kavos, while suffering from several drawbacks that plague the Cenian defense, manages to work together with her teammates to find the best place to put the ball. She coordinates well with her teammates to stifle any offense trying to move into the Cenian zone, and has a strong clearing motion, and a strong pass, to make full use of her coordination abilities. Miri Windtide has been tapped as the new Kaia Travaran of Cenian football, referring to the Cenian national team captain who has been a stalwart of the national team, holding up the defense, both on the pitch and morally, but she'll have to wait for her turn on this DBC squad as some of the older players have the opportunity to play. Astara Khan, a Pakistani daughter of a construction worker and a nanny, found herself playing football with her friends on the street while her parents were busy at work to pass the time, finding herself adept at football, especially the defense.

MIDFIELDERS >>>
Adrián del Toro AM (18) Image Phalanx AF
After impressing at Pinnacle Project two years ago, where he scored 34 goals, an impressive tally only second to the Vanorian star Galasgoldas Tathtauré, Adrián del Toro moved to Phalanx AF, where he again impressed, scoring another set of goals. With the Cenian NT, he made his debut at the age of 17 and had several good plays and important goals for the national team. His main talent lies in forging partnerships with midfielders on the defensive end and strikers on the offensive end and finding a way to make everyone work together, and his crucial efforts with the national team can help him to juke defenses of teams at the U-21 level in the Di Bradini Cup. His shot can use some improvement, but at the moment, its best strength is placement rather than power, always finding a creative way to get the ball into the goal.

Jasper Valaran MF (21) Image Lammerton
Jasper Valaran has continued to develop his box-to-box style of play in the midfield, excelling at both defensive and offensive aspects throughout his career, but he has really grown into his role as a playmaker in the midfield for 1860 Azoth, and he was instrumental in winning the Cenileague title for his club, providing many crucial passes, which picked him up after a good season at Pinnacle Project in which he scored over a dozen goals and was easily their top goalscorer. Lammerton then bidded on him, and Valaran was more than happy to ply his trade in the nascent Schottic league. He made an immediate impact there, helping his team to second place in the league and winning second best U-21 footballer.

Marc-André Onasi AM (18) Image Myrmidon
Onasi was born to a Quebecois father and a Cenian mother and holds Quebecois citizenship as well. With that heritage, Onasi is prone to periodic outbursts on the pitch if something doesn't go his way, although he does not have many of the problems of substance abuse that rack other Quebecois footballers. With that being said, Onasi has a really powerful physique, being one of the taller Cenian football players at 6 foot 4, and uses that to his advantage to overpower defenders. Indeed, his skill in dribbling and outwitting the defense are his main attributes. He has spent all his club career at Myrmidon, where he reached the Champion's Cup Round of 16 with the club. That big match experience should help him maintain his superiority over other U-21 players.

Petro Valles CM/DM (21) Image Rosaria United
Petro Valles - one of the several excellent midfielders from Ceni's north side, in this case from the city of Nova Ascea - excels as more of a holding midfielder, and he does well to prevent opponents' attacking moves and regain the momentum for Ceni's offense. Valles works well with friend Tomás Fierro, and they complement each other's abilities. This makes them easily able to switch from offense to defense together in a quick manner, and quickly exploit any shift in momentum to Ceni's advantage. As such, Valles has a good grasp on short, simple passes to playmaker Valaran or more offensive-minded midfielders Onasi and del Toro.

Sendoa AM (20) Image Kings Park
Charles Allegro AM (19) Image Tir Snake Strike
Martin d'Orazio CM/DM (19) Image Cenial United
Sofia Falcón CM (19) Image Argi Sangüesa

It seems like the Cenian efforts to build up the midfield have paid off, and Petrossian was faced with many tough choices when choosing his roster for this crucial area of the pitch. Sendoa, from the Basque side of Nova Ascea, is one of the few Cenian players ever to only take one name - but it is a very memorable name, meaning strength in the Basque language. He is a strong player, with lots of stamina and strength to keep him through long, gruelling football games; he is more of an attacker and a scorer than a playmaker, and he possesses great ball-striking instincts. Martin d'Orazio, of Valladar descent, has assisted Julián del Olmo in the defensive midfield a lot in his career at Pinnacle Project, and the two work well together. Meanwhile, Charles Allegro (of Swiss descent) proved instrumental in Whitehaven Triumph's promotion to Cenileague 1 and their excellent performance in the Series B Champions Cup, where the team reached the Round of 16 and sharpened their experience playing international football before moving to Tir Snake Strike, where he is now.

FORWARDS
Andrew Arrowsword ST (18) Image Real Azuris
Andrew Arrowsword might be the best Cenian striker since the Koromin siblings - at the tender age of 18, no less. Two years ago in the Terranean League, he took Club 24, a struggling club in the Terranean League battling to stay in the top season, and made it into a force to be reckoned with; it placed well above the relegation zone, thanks to his help, and he scored 32 goals along the way - becoming the Terranean League's top striker. Several international clubs bid for him, but eventually, Arrowsword chose to play football at Real Azuris, Cosumar's league champions, where he won the league title, the cup, and best U-21 player while debuting for the national team at the age of 17. He has an excellent eye for the ball, and has one of the calmest, most collected finishes in international football. This wunderkind is speedy, shoots well with both feet, has great power and accuracy, and dribbles and passes well. He has the potential to be the next Cenian star at the international level - especially if the team does well at this DBC.

Ben Lorennion ST (19) Image Golden Eagles
Ben Lorennion proved to be Cenial Liberty's main striking option in the last edition of Cenileague. He performed decently, racking up a respectable total of 20 goals despite a lack of support from the midfield and attacking midfield. Before that, he was a main striking option at Whitehaven Triumph, where he was at the head of a very prodigious offense. Both experiences have shaped his football skills: he is both comfortable with support, being more of a team player in that case and helping out with the passing and dribbling, or without it, finding a way to make it work with incisive shots on goal. He shone out enough at the club with his athleticism and ball-striking poise and ability that Petrossian picked him for a starting spot at this year's Di Bradini Cup. He is well-liked off the pitch and helps to keep his team together.

Auren Brahe-Antilles ST (21) Image Golden Eagles
Auren Brahe-Antilles outshone his peers at Pinnacle Project training, and Cenian side Longtails picked him up after the departure of one of their better players Kristoffer; it proved to be a wise choice, as he was instrumental in his club's successes over the past couple of years with striking partner Eric Garcia, himself a former DBC player. Now, with his club relegated with Cenileague's merger into the I-League, he moved out of Longtails to the Avonian side Golden Eagles, which should help him to further develop, along with a new strike partner, Ben Lorennion (this DBC should help the two get to know each other better, incidentally). As a part of Ceni's squad for the past two DBCs, he has vital experience in the competition, and yearns to win the title before his time with this team is up.

Mara Longstar ST (18) Image Myrmidon
Aiden Denarian ST (18) Image Whitehaven Triumph
César Corvalán ST (18) Image Argi Sangüesa

A trio of eighteen-year-olds will form Ceni's striking team reserves for this Di Bradini Cup. Mara Longstar has been a consistent starter for Myrmidon during the past couple of seasons, including their Champion's Cup octofinals appearance; she's probably one of the most technically gifted on this team. Aiden Denarian formed part of the Whitehaven Triumph side that reached SBCC success, creating and converting chances with ease along with fellow Whitehaven Triumph graduate Ben Lorennion. César Corvalán was a major force in Argi Sangüesa's promotion to the I-League this last season and its impressive run to the quarterfinals of the Series B Champion's Cup; he also graduated from the northern Tomás Hernández Academy.

After undesirable results in the World Cup 71 Qualifiers, La Selecta decided to start a reengineering in its game system, after proving that a good defence is not something from other planet, receiving fifteen goals in fourteen matches during the World Cup 71, a new slightly defensive system was established in the team, featuring for the first time a line of three midfielders, trying to block the highest number of possibilities of the rival team, also including a rookie into the team like Schwidrowski is having his first experience as the goalkeeper of the Starting XI, with one midfielder who can have a rol of defence like Mikkelsen, this team is probably a quite defensive version of La Selecta. A key aspect that changes a bit from the other lineups used throughout the history, is the use of three strikers instead, in order to keep the offensive capacity that has characterized the football of the National Team and maybe the bastion of the whole Guayabalense football.

There are three words to describe the game style of La Selecta being that: efficience, speed and withe, something that makes the team look solid at any time, no matter the game but it is a team that rarely gives up, even if the conditions are totally against, the team tries to score early, to score the highest amount of goals and going decidedly to the front in order to score, to fight with courage every ball and also having a high esteem and sense of unity as a team.

Game style: The game who SJG does is essentially technical, based on the agility of movement from the players, using their intelligence for the game to find lone spaces and perform single passes that are very accurate and "in depth", they like to accumulate players while attacking or using the surprise factor which is use the speed of the players to perform counter attacks that usually have a good level of effectivity, taking in consideration that this is a team who thinks in score the goals as fast as possible instead of defending (Well known as "The Kill or Die Philosophy." Which is the most used tactic on Guayabalense football throughout his history), something that they do even when they face a football powerhouse or a extremely offensive team, no matter the rival, the objective is score the highest amount of goals and win the three points.

In the defence area, they tend to use physical game style in order to set conditions to the rivals, despite that the defenders are of medium height, they are well known for their skill at aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat them, specially in corners or set pieces, expect always fair play from this team, avoiding to do fouls into the last 25-30 meters of their defence area.

Introduction

The Constitutional Monarchy of San José Guayabal, or also known as Guayabal or simply called SJG is a culturally diverse nation, inhabited by at least thirty ethnic minority groups and five other major ethnic groups, forming a bond of brotherhood between each group offering him to the nation a strong reputation of unity and brotherhood even in the most difficult moments. A former colonizers ancestral heritage and a mixture of innovation and creativity have shown positive effects in this vibrant nation located in the southernmost corner of Esportiva. In this guide basic data information that will help the tourist (Regardless of nationality, sex, species, religion, etc.) to have a pleasant stay in San José Guayabal, with phrases and tips that will be much useful.

History

Originally, San José Guayabal was inhabited by a tribe from the South Pole, which has been called "Eskimos" and which our country still live to this day, beginning more than 2,600 years before Christ. Eskimos settled in small communities on the shores of the south coast of the nation, developing solitarily without contact with most members of his ethnic group or the like. The economy was based on hunting and selling bearskins for the winter season, or the planting and harvesting of grapes or apples during the spring time. The system of government was nonexistent and remained so for a long time, where the Eskimos were the majority before a new ethnic group in the center of the country, which was the group of "Wára-Wára" who ended up being called "Native Guayabalenses.”

Many centuries later, the picture did not change in ethnic background, because the Eskimos maintained a social domain but now much more informed through a central government called "Naalakkersueriaaseq" or simply "Naala", consisting of a governor who tended to meet the role of chief and spiritual guide of the nation. Note that abandoned their nomadic practices and decided to establish around the "Great Lake" now called "Metropolitan Lake", about 230 km from what is now San Salvador, the capital.

We going back to closest date to today, specifically in the 14th century BC, a new ethnic group came from the Northern regions which, specifically from Andarica, we mean the Spaniards who colonized our country with the valorous mission of Explorer Luis Barbosa (Who’s considered as founder of the nation) and transformed it into an important cultural spot for Esportiva then. The discovery of new cities and new cultures was almost unstoppable, the isolated Eskimos decided to merge into a new society, full of opportunities for everybody. And that hasn’t stopped yet, because more groups came to stay in our nation, coming from the north the Finns, Swedes, Russians and Anglo-Saxons, creating a multicultural society in a big nation, who had a strong sense of unity and brotherhood since the early beginning despite the racial differences.

In the last 200 years, San José Guayabal has suffered drastic changes into his history and social system, being caused by political reasons, who led to three civil wars (1989, 2024, 2047) where the main factor was the wish of liberty and prosperity from a diverse but united nation with strong wishes of success in international issues as business, industries and more specially peace and freedom.

Today, San José Guayabal is a nation that is rising from the ruins by leaps and bounds after the most recent and devastating civil war that put a stop to the tyrannical communist regime of then President Miguel Serrano. In an industry dominated by petroleum and energy resources such as shale or subtraction of natural gas in conjunction with a strong and increasingly thriving tourism industry and micro technology based economy (Chips, micro-chips, etc.) are transforming the nation into what people have dreamed of, a country of advanced its breakthrough in the future and seek to overcome adversity to become more powerful and provide a better standard of life for its inhabitants.

Geography, Climate and another natural phenomena

San José Guayabal is a continental nation, located in the continent of Inferiore Minore, Esportiva. Having a great number of surrounding islands, an 85% of The Antartic Territory, doing a great combination of climate geographical features.
The continental area is very irregular, mountainous and extremely volcanic relief, being mountainous in the west, south-central, north-central and eastern containing long plains and steppes in the central area (also called "The Heart") of the nation, The Alpine Belt also called "Cordillera Del Fuego" runs from the border with Estope and Wednesday Evening in the far west to the border with Gregoryisgodistan in the east, forming a branch towards the south coast of the nation. The eruptions are less frequent in recent years, the last eruption was 12 years ago and the possibilities of a new eruption event occur is very minimal. This has generated an abundance of rocky material from the process of cooling of the lava, a very popular material used for gardens, decoration or houses.

Notable exceptions to the mountainous terrain of San José Guayabal are the Central Valley and the Northern Steppe. El Valle is a flat land that does not exceed 600 meters above sea level and extends over much of the Lempa River; the soil is very fertile for growing grain and other agricultural products such as corn, beans, and sugarcane, and also is home of the biggest hydroelectric dams in the entire region of Esportiva.

The North Steppe is the most arid area of the territory, dominated by its large sand dunes, this region has very little rainfall throughout the year and extreme weather in the summer, easily exceeding 42°C at noon and decreasing the 9°C at the night, fauna it’s minimal there except for scorpions and some lizards.

The climate of San Jose Guayabal is generally quite predictable because there are four distinct seasons being these winter (June 21 to September 20), spring (September 21 to December 20), summer (December 21 to March 20) and the autumn (March 21-June 20) while in Rossana (overseas colony) the condition is different because of its location in the northern hemisphere being the winter between December and March, spring between April and June, the summer between July and September while autumn is from October to December. It's very rare to see a non-corresponding to the station in our country climate, with stable climates for each season and very few flaws in the service of climate information in the news and newspapers because the control systems of the climate and the almost obvious weather patterns.

In terms of natural phenomena we can find three, the most catastrophic ones are the earthquakes, a very common event in the nation due to its volcanic activity and its location between two major tectonic plates, the Southern Plate and the Inferiore Plate. This makes our nation quite prone to seismic events place but do not panic. The nation has high construction standards regarding the prevention of seismic events and is mandatory that each building has evacuation plans which are placed in visible to make easier the evacuation besides making evacuation drills at least two times for year. Note that at least 45% of citizens are people trained to provide first aid, this being part of the given requirements to complete the Students’ Social Service, required for the graduation of students in the education system.

We now turn to other less lethal phenomena, as are the aurora australis and the migration of geese, spectacular events that attracts lots of people. The aurora australis is a phenomenon that occurs mainly from March to September, while maintaining an appropriate intensity to be seen until the end of December, usually can be seen throughout the country, including northern areas like El Roblar or Metapán. The migrating of geese occur during September to December, from the Central Valley region they move to the South Pole, then head north of Esportiva. These spectacles often bring many people to be witnessed, because they have an enormous facility to witness each of these phenomena.

Travel

Visiting San José Guayabal is not a very complicated process, as the provisions of international travel are applied for each foreign visitor. International flights usually land at three airports, one for each egion of the country, being the El Roblar International Airport designated to the west, Luis Barbosa Airport in Vladivostok for the central region and San Salvador International Airport to the east, the latter being the most important because of its location in the capital.

On transport and within San Jose Guayabal, we can find many alternatives among these is a rental car, join a tour group to use a minibus, taxi, public bus system, the private mass transportation, the underground (Available in cities over 500,000 inhabitants com) the bullets and domestic flights trains provide easy connectivity between one point and another in the nation, but can mention popular media, low cost and short runs as the tuc tuc and the colloquially called "coaster" (small minibus whose route is fast but to some extent uncomfortable due to the high volume of music and the sound of their mufflers). As mentioned, the transport between different parts of the nation is very easy, even people facilitate travel through the "ride" method, something often practiced by people who made a short trip and bear a considerable burden in order to avoid walk with overload.

Transportation is a very fast method SJG if done especially between cities separated by many kilometers because there is no speed limit on highways, although it is recommended to drive at no more than 140 kilometers per hour.

It’s important to say that you should drive defensively in the roads, especially in the interstate highways, due to the very aggressive driving style of Guayabalenses in general, drive always at your right side and carry an extinguisher, reposition tires and use always your seatbelt, failure to do this might cause you high fines with the police, the fines should be paid at the local police department, in any bank or pharmacy under the “EasyPay” system which can be found in almost every town in the nation.

Culture & Society

Religion

San José Guayabal is a predominantly religious nation since ancient times, presenting a wide variety of thoughts about divinity.

From the beginning of time to the Eskimos, prevailed a kind of shamanism mixed with pagan rites in honor of the earth, moon and sun, entities of great importance to the Eskimos because of their dependence on agriculture and sun for planting and harvest of food and other goods for storage in the winter, which was worshiped by the moon and snow, who deserved rest and relaxation afforded to the Eskimos that time.

This Eskimo tradition of worshiping natural phenomena remained for more than 2500 years until the arrival of Spanish colonizers, who spread a new faith, Christianity in an easy way and without shedding innocent blood by religion. The Guayabalenses have been very receptive to the religion without falling into religious fundamentalism and fanaticism, this being a meeting point of unity and for society.

The Catholic branch of Christianity was the most professed in San José Guayabal to the arrival of the ethnic groups of Nordic origin like the Swedes and Finns who are predominantly Protestant, their influence on the people was so great that within two decades (1840- 1860) the percentage of Catholics dropped from 86% to 7%, and Protestantism dramatically increased to 89% of the population said to practice religion mainly based on the three pillars that characterizes San José Guayabal populace as a whole: Unity, Brotherhood and Passion.

Today the trend remains solid, the population is even more liberal than before in terms of tolerance creeds, admitting any theological thinking according to the Constitution of the Republic, severely condemning any act of censorship of religious expression or fundamentalism religious. Notably, church attendance has been increasing in the last seven years, bringing together a large part of the population; the missions of the churches typically perform community works across the nation or even international level people who need it most.

Language

Because being a multicultural nation, many languages are found in San Jose Guayabal, 31 to be precise, of which only five are relevant in their social use and only two are used by the government. At least a basic knowledge of Spanish language is more than useful in our nation but not essential, because 68% of the population has declared Spanish as their first language and 85% admit to have sufficient knowledge of the language. There are also four more languages in which the population has knowledge such as English (spoken by 70% of the population, 12% as their mother tongue), Swedish (spoken by 35% of the population, 4% as mother tongue), Russian (spoken by 26% of the population, 7% as their mother tongue) and Finnish (spoken by 17% of the population, 3% as their mother tongue).

The people of San Jose Guayabal are known regionally for the effort they made to learn new languages, speaking on average three to four languages at an appropriate level for communications with different people, according to them this is essential because knowledge is acquired different cultures and helps to relate to more people in The Multiverse.

Below, a table of English phrases translated into Spanish is presented, in order to have a broader contact with the population or in case of an emergency, which can be very helpful during your stay.

Food & Etiquette

Food in San Jose Guayabal is very diverse, varying due to the presence of different ethnic groups that have imported your culinary culture to our nation, varying by region, but yes there are dishes that are distinguished from others if we talk about popularity nationwide.

Eating habits in SJG tends to be foods with moderate calories, being mainly meat and some salads that are normally accompaniment to the main course, where it normally waits for all those who eat at the same table finish their plate, then they start to eat all at the same time the main course, as tradition, a toast is made by anyone at the table. It is considered impolite to leave food residue on dishes and should you be invited to a house to eat or social activities, is always appropriate offer to wash the dishes and glasses where you ate, this being a gesture of good education and thanks to the host (not always the person that is offered is done, is considered as a simple act of appreciation.)

The typical dish par excellence of San José Guayabal are Pupusas, is a food made from mass shaped like circle, stuffed inside with fried beans, cheese, pork rind, squash, blackberry. This is often accompanied by vegetable tanning and ketchup.
Other main courses are: Tray (Composed of roast beef with barbecue, rice, salad, soup and fries), Quesadillas, Coastal Chops (Cutlet, bathed with barbecue and served with shrimp), Croquettes (breaded meat, accompanied with piece of dough and rice) and Spaghetti. Among the salads are: Paisa salad (lettuce, avocado, omelet, egg, chicken, bacon and corn chips) and the “Mil Cumbres” salad (lettuce, tortilla croutons, chicken, tomato, corn and ranch dressing).

Football Culture

Football in San José Guayabal is the sport that moves the masses, on any day and at any time of day is normal to see children playing football in the streets of residential areas or football academies, the Community youth playing football in tournaments, or at academies of professional or semi professional teams, adults meet after the workday with peers and then perform matches, as distraction from work stress and also the elderly and women, who do not hesitate to leave their detention work in order to enjoy the football. Through this we can deduce that as people get involved in football in an active way, so is his passion.

The passion for football is very excessive in our nation, for some it is cultural issue of pride support their team and others, is literally his own "religion" if you are so want to call, many fans to stadiums are directed to support his team in an almost unique way, the hostility in the atmosphere and tension is very high, the songs of hate towards the opponent and vice versa are very frequent flares, pyrotechnics, giant banners to support the team, hypes, trumpets and other musical instruments give much color to the bars organized teams or selection, popularly known as "Barras Bravas" are very common, but accidents between the fans are very rare.

Discuss and be contrary to any guayabalense about football in public is something that will not be very pleasant, especially if the national team is playing. In such cases, groups are formed and the riots start against the supporters of another nation, then this gives origin to the riots. Something forbidden by the laws of behavior in stadiums, as if they are the perpetrators, be of any nationality, the price to pay is high, from fines of 1,000 crowns (NS $ 2,000) up to three months in jail, or if they occur fatalities.

It is recommended to refrain from displays of hatred and mockery against the home crowd, in order to avoid problems of any kind during your stay, note that stadiums are not allowed to enter water bottles, umbrellas, sharps, flagpoles or pencils. You can enter flares, banners and musical instruments with previous notice to the police (if you are from an organized “ultra”), it is important to mention that you can find different food at the stadium, from ice cream to banquets of gourmet food, any kind of drink is available from the typical and highly alcoholic “Chaparro” to typical beers or wines.

Spanish Long Version - For Formal Acts and/or Ceremonies

¡Despierta, Guayabalense, del sueño de la muerte
en el que te sumieron los tiranos!
Ahora o nunca, fórjate otro destino
ante el cual se inclinen tus enemigos.

Ahora o nunca

NEPHARA U-21s
Preferred Formation:
4-4-2
Style Modifier: 0
Playstyle: The 'new style'. Solid in defence, fluid across the wings, hard-pressing, hard-running, hard-tackling. Always moving forward, ideally but not necessarily with quick passes along the floor but unafraid to make devastating long balls across to the opposite flank to throw defences off-guard.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Captain: Gudrun Crowley
Nickname: The Magpies

The Nepharim have had mixed fortunes with the Di Bradini Cup, and a shift of philosophies recently with regards to directly grooming players for the national team, having them play attractive and fast-paced football along the floor rather than just using size to their advantage, brutalising opponents and going out in the first round anyway. That's the theory, but Erica Brewer has been elevated to the post after a less than glowing managerial career in the Premiership and is going for a more physical, direct and powerful approach. She needs results, and this seems to be the generation to get them.

Staff
Manager - Erica Brewer - Age 51
Assistant Manager - Dorcas Fadden - Age 47

Assistant to Shale for most of his earlier career, Brewer has owed every one of her managerial posts to Shale's influence - he recommended her to the Rovers after returning to the Premiership, then recommended her as his replacement after he left Crisisbless. She lasted one season. So Shale's got her a cushy post as U21s manager. Some people should just stay as assistants... this is Brewer's last chance to prove she isn't one of them.

Goalkeepers
1 - Reinhard Lockwood (West Brinemouth) - Age 20
12 - Reinhard Meixner (Starling) - Age 20
20 - Connor Risdon (Bishop) - Age 21

As recent doctrine has favoured, quality has been favoured over regular first-team football. None of these players have stepped onto the pitch in a league game, but Lockwood is tipped to potentially be an international someday regardless. All are in the traditional Nepharim mould - big, commanding, great at shot-stopping and anything else is secondary.

Defenders
2 - RB - Leona Rafford (Crisisbless) - Age 19
3 - LB - Sieglinde Lohengrin (Crisisbless) - Age 21
5 - CB - Amber Steelshrift (Maximum Rovers) - Age 21
6 - CB - Christian Serjeant (North Laithland) - Age 21
13 - RCB - Danijel Brymora (Brinemouth) - Age 20
17 - RB - Robyn Lauren (Sabrefell Athletic) - Age 21
19 - LB - Tessa Bayliss (Brinemouth) - Age 21
22 - CB - Artur Bierofka (Goodfeather FC) - Age 21

Weirdly, Nephara is stacked with young and extremely good fullbacks - Cattalock, Sauber and Jeurissen can consider themselves unfortunate not to make the cut. As it stands, they've managed to take five anyway, sliding Brymora into the centre of defence where things look a bit thinner. Rafford and Lohengrin are exceptional attacking fullbacks even if Rafford is renowned to be a terror off the pitch, while Brymora and Serjeant are both physical, quick-footed brawlers, both capable with the ball at their feet.

Midfielders
4 - CM - Gudrun Crowley (Sabrefell Moths) - Age 21
7 - RM - Andrea Bereveskos (Cypher Town) - Age 21
8 - CM - Ursula Rowan (Parrhesia United) - Age 21
11 - LM - Gareth Corvine (Sabrefell Athletic) - Age 20
14 - CM - Isabella Cassadore (Raven River) - Age 21
16 - CM - Rasunda Vanderlei (North Laithland) - Age 20
18 - LM - Lorelei Neptune (Bishop) - Age 19
23 - RM - Saskia Kantaroff (AFC Treason) - Age 21

A strong midfield, this time around. Gudrun Crowley will be a defensive bulwark for the Nepharim midfield with Rowan roving forward. Bereveskos on the right is one of the team's stars, one of the best players full-stop in the second tier last season and surely won't be staying there for long, while Corvine is a very orthodox, not especially creative but efficient winger.

Forwards
9 - CF - Estrella Hawke (Starling) - Age 19
10 - CF - Karin Drinkwater (Brinemouth) - Age 21
15 - CF - Dragan Stavanger (Creed United) - Age 21
21 - CF - Claudia Escrow (Violence Chariots) - Age 20

There has been something of a dearth in the depth of powerful, physical Nepharim strikers lately. Hawke and Stavanger represent a return to a proud tradition, large brawlers who aren't afraid to get stuck in and will absolutely eat up headers. Drinkwater off the bench represents a clinical impact substitute with clever movement - unsurprising, given her father.

Manager Todd Akinn

Akinn is the 57 year old manager of West Guiana's first U21 team in nearly thirty years. He spent his playing years as a player with Gembrook United for eight years and with New Haven for the last six years of his short carrer, which ended due to knee problems. He is currently the Head Coach of the Lions Head youth club which is the newest part of the NPSL.

Ass. Magr Hugh Lovis

Lovis, 44 years old spent the early years of his soccer career in metro youth leagues in Jasper City and playing while in college. He played his entire career which was also short lived thanks to server headaches, was played with the FC United winning one NSA Cup pervious to the league forming the NPSL.

Kirisakian coach Kagami Ikeda is back for her second term as Schottia U21 manager. The 19-year-old, who led her nation's U15s the quarterfinal in Schottia two years go, caught the eye of the SFA with her attacking style of football, and youthful enthusiasm. In terms of tactics, Schottia line up with a 4-5-1. A flat back four, protected by one sitting midfielder, and two central players slightly more advanced. They will try to use the pace of their wingers to get in behind the back line and create chances of the loan striker.

Team info
Schottia have struggles to replicate the kind of success they had at DBC-33 since they changed their selection policy, omit players who had already featured in the senior squad. While this undoubtedly makes thing more difficult, it has the advantage of giving more players game time, and the experience of playing in an international tournament.

The there are several changes to this side from the one, which lost to Abanhfleft in the round of sixteen two years ago; the Ünterhausens being the only ones who survive from the starting line up. Addison, Conjure, and Rexmont are all promoted from the bench, and while Conway also returns this year, she will need to settle for a place on the bench behind Mel Ünterhausen. Kagami Ikeda has had real trouble recruiting players in the defensive areas, and they lack experience particularly at wingback and between the sticks. While they don't have much to fall back on, a full strength midfield contingent should be able to hold their own however; Steven Rexmont in particular has been on impressive form for his club. While Conjure and Addison should know what they are doing, all eyes will be on 16-year-old Camila Soria Luna, the youngest player in the current squad, one of three making the step up from U15 level. In the attack Mel Ünterhausen will be looking to at to her tally from last season, in what will be her third Di Bradini Cup.

Key to success here is going to be how the forward players perform in front of goal. With weaknesses at the back it may be a case of - attack is the best form of defence.

Home -- Reverse -- Away

Squad:

Image

Starting XI
GK Nora Imrie, Image West Coast Warriors, 19. Height: 185cm. Weight: 69kg
In Ikeda's search for an eligible keeper currently playing first team football, the scouts came up with this lass. Imrie has been making a name for herself in the Women's Super-League, as the archaic pre mixed-gender league structure continues to be a breading ground for young female players. Imrie is a proven shot stopper, with a good command of the area - but this will be a big step up for her, and she will need to raise her game.

R/CB. Ben Crendoa, Image Stalker Bay, 21. Height: 179cm. Weight: 70kg
Crendoa has been a first team regular at Stalker Bay for three seasons now, but may need to move to a higher level than the Schottic second tier if he is going to press on from here. He is a small, quick defender, who is good at tracking back. Definitely more of a centre-back, but needs must, and he has been shoehorned in at right-back.

LB Beatrice Colgan, Image St-Renée, 17. Height: 179cm. Weight: 68kg
One of the stand out players from the U15 World Cup two years ago, Colgan has since left the WSL for Nuevo Caracas, where she now plies her trade with St Renée. Ikeda has had something of a left-back problem since Molly Killanen moved out of the age bracket, hence the reason she has gone with the 17-year-old. That said, Colgan is a strong and athletic player, and if she can replicate some of her form from two years ago, then she'll do okay.

CB. Mark Ünterhausen, Image FC Jansberg 19. Height: 186cm. Weight: 73kg (c)
Making history in Schottic football by becoming the third member of the same family to receive a cap at under-21 level. Mark is the youngest of the Ünterhausen siblings, following Johannas and his twin sister Melanie into the Schottia set-up. Mark impressed from a very young age at FC Döller, helping them to promotion three years ago. He has since joined up with FC Jansberg in Semarland, where his has been knocking on the door of the first team. Mark is the current captain of the squad, and brings with him a lot of experience at such a young age.

CB Chris Grant, Image Arkrau Klub, 19. Height: 184cm. Weight: 69kg
Another player form the Semarluundik Premarligaen set up, Chris Grant has played in Semarland for most of his career, having joined Johannes Melksson's side aged 16. His first team experience with Arkau makes him a valuable part of this squad, and he looks certain to start. Grant lacks a little of Ünterhausen's star potential, but he is hard working and gritty opponent nonetheless.

CM Jim Gerrish, Image Dundee, 21. Height: 180cm. Weight: 70kg
The Dundee man will go straight into the starting line up, coming out of nowhere to produce a fantastic season of football in the SPL. He was the man charged with filling in for Vera Cummings, following her move to Port Sebastian, and he hasn't let his manager down. Gerrish controls the midfield, tracking back to make important challenges, as well as playing the important passes to get the attack going.

CM Elizabeth Addison, Image Regional Development Side A, 21. Height: 166cm. Weight: 66kg
The younger sister of Warriors and Schottia midfielder Holly, Lizzie Addison has been with national academy system since her family arrived seeking asylum eight years ago. Now she is one of The RDS:A's top players and prize assets, and at 21, she is a senior stateswoman of the side. A very fast and agile player who is always looking for the ball and very comfortable in possession; she is a good tip to follow her sister's example by winning a senior cap in the next few seasons.

RL/CM Evelyn Conjure, Image Blue Coast 1981, 19. Height: 169cm. Weight: 67kg
Evee Conjure is a versatile midfielder, who has literally played every position except keeper for Coast over the last three seasons. Something of an early developer, she broke into the Christopheran club's first team soon after her 16th birthday, and has been a mainstay of the side ever since. She brings a lot of first team experience to the table, at a very young age, and there is every chance she could be a big player for Schottia in the future. The club's run the group stage of the Globe Cup will have given her a lot of confidence.

AMC Camila Soria Luna, Image Project +90 [DAI], 16. Height: 176cm. Weight: 64kg
It is a common misconception that Corinne Martel-Burns won the U15 World Cup single-handed, however, it would probably be more accurate to say that she and Camila Soria Luna won the day for Schottia. Born in San Marco Port Christopher, Soria Luna's decision to play for the nation of her grandmother's birth has never made her popular back home. The situation was complicated further when she was photographed last year wearing a Port Christopher scarf, at a World Cup Qualifier. The 16-year-old was a student of the renowned Region A Academy in Schottia from the age of seven, until she switched to Project +90, where she is now completing her development in Dainer. Displaying composure and passing ability far beyond her years, the SFA will be keen to get the question marks hanging over her allegiances sorted out soon.

R/LM. Steven Rexmont, Image Dundee, 20. Height: 180cm. Weight: 67kg
Rexmont will likely be a very big player for Ikeda's side this tournament. The 20-year-old has been on outstanding form in the SPL, where his 21 goals for Dundee last season, won him a $6m move to Port Sebastian. He is a strong runner, with the pace and skill to leave most wing backs for dead. Rexmont has adjusted well to life with Port Sebastian, and is already being looked at closely for a senior cap.

F/ACM Melanie Ünterhausen, Image Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies 21. Height: 180cm. Weight: 71kg
This is a third DBC call up for Melanie Ünterhausen who seems to share the family trait for being an early developer. She's had success with FC Döllar, Kelsey Merchants, and FC Soessch, before now returning to parent club Arsenal de Releinthi in Abanhfleft. She has already proven her ability to lead the line at this level, but with Schottia normally operating a one up front system at senior level, she might have to wait a while longer before joining her brother in the NT.

Subs
GK Gerald Hoffmann, Image Sporting Solsholm, 20. Height: 180cm. Weight: 70kg
Hoffmann left Schottia to enter the Semarlandic system at a young age, where he is slowly working his way through the ranks with Sorting Solshom. Not the tallest keeper out there, but he has good natural abilities, which stand him in good stead.

CB. James Well, Image Regional Development Side D, 21. Height: 183cm. Weight: 74kg
Coming to the end of his time at the New Island academy, Well will be hoping this call up might help him find a club at the end if the season. It terms of skill set, he has all the makings of a good central defender, but he lacks experience at a competitive level.

L/CB Michael Koller, Image Regional Development Side A, 20. Height: 184cm. Weight: 69kg
A teammate of Lizzie Addison at RDS:A, Koller is also part of that successful youth side. The fact that he can cover at left back is probably a lot of the reason for the call up here, especially since there are problems in the wingback departments for this Schottic squad. Koller is a tall and pacey player, but he is better suited to the central role.

RM. Robyn Yamazaki, Image Jena VB, 19. Height: 169cm. Weight: 58kg
The lightning quick Jena teenager has been an important player at the North Island club for a couple of seasons now, and was part of the side which played in the SPL two year ago. Of Akashian parentage, Yamazaki has already represented Schottia at U15 level.

CM Lorna Wilson, Image Lammerton, 21. Height: 175cm. Weight: 65kg
Generally used as backup by the Hornets, Wilson has been solid when called upon. It possibly displays a problem in this young side, the fact that some of the reserve midfielders are definitely of a lesser ability.

R/LM. Mark Keane, Image Dundee, 19. Height: 183cm. Weight: 68kg
The second call up from the successful Dundee side, Keane was snapped up from the national academy at the start of the season as a replacement for none other than Rexmont. He has been in the Dundee first time for most of the season so far, so he should be a good option coming off the bench.

CM Jane Schramm, Image D'Itille, on loan from Image Sherbrooke Noksekjeonsa 17. Height: 157cm. Weight: 61kg
What Schramm lacks in size, she makes up for in effort. She started life out in the WSL, before winning a move to Quebecois side Sherbrooke, and has subsequently been loaned back to D'Itille in Schottia. It seventeen she may not play much here in Valanora, but it will be part of the learning curve for her.

CF/AMC Lara Wedderburn, Image Cornellians, 16. Height: 178cm. Weight: 67kg
Wedderburn has been a bit of a surprise this season at Cornellians. We all knew the youngster was a good player, but her emergence in the first team was a shock. With the ability to play up-front or just behind the front two, she has already made an impact in her seven appearances this season.

CF Hamish Muir Image Sherbrooke Noksekjeonsa, 17. Height: 187cm. Weight: 74kg
Muir proved to be a good foil for Martel-Burns at the U15 World Cup two years ago, providing consistency to match his strike partner's eccentricity. His three seasons at Project +90 seem to have now paid of, and after winning a move to the newly reformed Q-League, he is yet another of the world famous Academy's success stories. A big, tall, rangy player, Muir will no doubt develop into more of a target man.

CF Estelle Conway, Image Marinos Thimpodopoulos Ladies, 21. Height: 181cm. Weight: 74kg
Estelle Conway will find herself, like last time, second choice behind Mel Ünterhausen. After two very successful seasons at Kings Park - where she made an impact bursting through the youth system - she had since switched to women’s football with Marinos Thimpodopoulos Ladies.

CF Elspeth Glendening Image Port James Athletic, 20. Height: 179cm. Weight: 67kg
Glendening has made a big impact in the SPL this season, as Port James Athletic had one of their best runs in years. The 20-year-old is one of the first promising talents to come though the club's youth system in a long time, meaning she will need to try and live with the pressure.

Player roles Captian: Mark Ünterhausen | Vice-Captain: Steven Rexmont | Penalties: Melanie Ünterhausen | Free Kicks: Camila Soria Luna (R) - Steven Rexmont (L) | Corners: Camila Soria Luna (R) - Steven Rexmont (L)

Nicholas Cannon: The backup keeper for the DBC 37 squad, still looking for a contract to get away from his underachieving Blue League side.

Darrin Brock: Selected from an open tryout, an unknown keeper from an unknown club. Well over two meters tall and might not be done growing.

Kyle Graham: Former Sterling youth product at winger, released following an injury and trying to reinvent himself in the backfield.

Seth Henderson: One of a handful of White League players on the roster, currently starts on a rotational basis for the Roosters.

Winston Harris: A starter on one of the stronger Blue League sides, supposed to be the next big thing in Hasznian defenders.

Donald Kelly: Another Blue League starter, and a good partner for Harris.

Tommie Mills: Tall, athletic, but raw Corris youth product playing on loan for the King Krabs as they attempt to promote into Conference.

Victor Fields: The only high point on the Emus side that got relegated from last year's Blue League

Willie Cooper: An unused sub in the DBC37, currently a stalwart for the promotion-threatening Leeburg side.

Garry Delgado: On the books at Rappolz, but has not suited up for a senior game yet.

Colin Buchanan: An occasional starter at Woodhall in the Blue League, saw some UICA action in the Series B Champions' Cup.

Guillermo Salazar: The only player on the team to start regularly for a White League team, and the biggest scoring threat besides Garcia.

Timmy Mann: A tryout product. One of two token youth players.

Richard Cross: Another tryout product, and the other youth player.

Chris Norris: A standout for the Wanderers, led the regional level in scoring last year

Doug Garcia: Arguably the most successful alum of the DBC 37 side save Carter Vick, currently plays in Azrea

Devin McCormick: A matriculated youth player for Blackfort City, likely to be loaned out next season to gain experience

Cedric Rose: A good striker with shattered confidence due to way too high of expectations being placed on him at Scarborough. Unable to single-handedly save the team from relegation--go figure.

SBCNEWS Online...
Sports special - The next generation

Part One: The Double Agent
Over the next few of months I will be travelling round Schottia, as well as many of the world's top sporting regions, meeting some of our nation's best and brightest young sportsmen and woman. As part of this series of articles for SBC online I will be chatting to individuals from a wide range of sporting disciplines, from tennis, to gridiron football, to swimming, and rugby. However, with the thirty-eighth Di Bradini Cup about to kick-off in its current home Valanora, football seemed like a very good place to start.

The first stop off on my whirlwind tour was the National Soccer Centre on the outskirts of Handon, where I was about to have lunch with one of the most divisive characters in Schottic sport right now. It's hard to think, in recent years, of any individual who has ignited more controversy around notions of national identity, and loyalty, and even good old-fashioned etiquette. It hardly seemed possible, looking across the small, round, canteen table at Camila Soria Luna. However, the sixteen-year-old has perhaps done more damage to Schottic-Christopheran relations in the last two years than politicians have done in half a century.

"I just don't really think about it. For me I've never really had an issue with being both Schottic and being born in Port Christopher."

She answered with a smile, and a shrug of the shoulders, pulling the sleeves of her training top over her hands noncommittally. And here in itself perhaps lies the issue...

Technically speaking, there is nothing in particular - no legal documentation or framework - to distinguish between a Christopheran and a Schottian. They both carry Schottic passports, they both vote in the High Council elections, and they both compete under the same flag at the Olympic games. In fact, other that how one person chooses to identify, there is no official Christopheran nationality. When Port Christopher first entered the WCC competitions eight years ago, all of the above issues had to be taken into consideration, as the terms of eligibility were ironed out. A gentleman's agreement was eventually established, after several of meetings, and days of head scratching. The heads of the SFA and the newly formed FAoPC agreed the following... To be eligible to play for Port Christopher a players must have either: been born on the Island, have at least one grandparent who was born on the Island, or have lived there for five years. In addition to this it was agreed that individuals having played for Schottia up to U-21 level were permitted to switch, however the FAoPC would not call up anyone who had represented Schottia (be it competitively or not) at full international level.

Of course, as well as setting out a basic framework, these rules were put in place to protect the Schottic playing pool, and stop Port Christopher just becoming essentially a Schottia-B-Team. When all of this was written up, it is doubtful that anyone imagined that a player from the tiny Esportivan state would look to exploit the loose wording and make the switch the other way. However, that is exactly what Camila did when she played for Schottia in an under 12's tournament; using the fact that her grandmother Agatha was born on an army base in Schottia as justification.

"I guess I just didn't really give it much thought, if I'm quite honest."

Was Camila's answer, and it became apparent from her tone, that it was a question she was growing tired of.

"I had been living in Schottia for three years at that point... It was my home. For me it wasn't like I was leaving one part of me behind when I made that decision, I don't think it made me less of a Christopheran. Like, when it came to following sport as a kid, I supported Port Christopher in the Islands Cup, and Schottia in the World Cup - that wasn't a problem for me. Borders, nationalities... They have always felt like a bit of an absurdity to be honest. I mean, why should I have more in common with a hotel chain owner born on the same island as me, rather than the players I played with week-in-week out in Schottia."

It might not have been a problem for Camila but it certainly was for the Christopheran FA, who in a press statement shortly after commented:

"We have worked hard over the last twenty-four months in establishing the side here in Port Christopher. Obviously the rules are the rules, and where there are loopholes there will always be unscrupulous individuals making to exploit them. While we are disappointed, we are not losing any sleep over it, and we are just focused on the upcoming World Cup campaign."
Jim Reid, Vice-President. FAoPC.

These were pretty strong words, and it is easy to see why the prospect of top young players turning their back on their country en mass would be cause for concern. Added to the fact that the existence of a Christopheran national team was always pretty tenuous anyway, this presented the FA with a existential crisis less than two years in.

If at first glance, it seems like Camila has no real position on the subject, a few minutes spent in her company would quickly dispel that idea. While it is obvious that she is reluctant to talk about it, with a little coaxing, the Project +90 star decided to go on and explain.

"I just think that if this was an attempt to rescue some Christopheran pride, it feels a little desperate. If you want to talk about national identity, then we should look at the Hoteliers and holiday firms who have turned the territory into a city of concrete tower blocks and drunken stag parties. My grandparents have pictures from when they were little, before the package holidays, back then the islands had a real sense of community, it was nothing like now. During my lifetime, you could walk from San Marco to the City and not walk past a single person you recognise. I feel like saying - how is getting hammered in the World Cup qualifiers ever two years going to gloss over the cracks?"

I moved the topic on to football and her role in the U15 win. Obviously grateful for the change in topic Camila brightened up as I ask her how her own life had changed since the team lifted the trophy with that now famous win over Abahnfleft.

"Yes!" She answered exuberantly, her chair scraping on the floor as she sat forward. "It was the most brilliant feeling. There was a lot of pressure going into the tournament being the home team and all, but... It was just such a great experience, working with Judy, and all they guys, there was just such a special atmosphere, and the way we won it in the end... I'll never forget it."

Camlia was of course referring to the dramatic climax to the match, and Schottia winning 5-3 on penalties. With the U15 World Cup the making of so many young players over the years, how did she feel about her involvement in the tournament? I also asked her whether she felt it had changes her life any.

"Yeah. Yeah, it really kind of has. I was only fourteen at the time, and back then I'd only played a handful of games for The A Team [the informal nickname for Schottia's Regional Development Side: A]. Youth football is a big deal in Schottia, as you know, and with the hype around the tournament being on home soil. I guess it was weird adjusting to the public starting to know who you were. Then of course, there was the switch to Project +90, and the move to Dainer."

Camila is now in her second season with the world's most famous youth development programme, where her team compete in the Daineri Youth Cup. I was curious to find own what she made of it all, and how she felt things were going in the Emirates of Futurnia.

"Good! Really good actually. We topped Group H this season, and won our last sixteen match over Shitrom 9-1. [Camila and I exchanged impressed glances] So yeah, I'm pretty happy, and moreover I'm really pleased with the way I'm playing. For me it's just a case of moving forward, trying to play better football. I still have another five years I can play here, so unless the right kind of club come in for me I'm more that happy to stay on in Dainer. Obviously it's very different from Schottia, but you just need to learn to adjust. They are passionate about their football here, and developing young players, so I can relate that that."

Finally I asked her what her plans were for the future, if she had any idea where she would like to go next, and if seeing U15 teammate Corinne Martell-Burns making the headlines in Quebec was an added incentive.

"I'm just focusing on the Di Bradini Cup, and the first match with Abanhfleft, which is going to be tough. They have a pretty settled side, and they always do well in youth tournaments. So definitely... that one is going to be hard. In terms of Connie [Camila can't help but smile at the mention of the only player in Schottic history who has caused more controversy than she has] she is just, kind of this special player. She has the ability to do things on the pitch that you just couldn't imagine - and she makes it look so effortless too, that's the craziest thing. I try not to compare myself to be honest. Hopefully in a few years time I'm playing in a strong league somewhere - in and around the national team would be nice, but if not, I can live with that."

I did notice the use of "national team" as opposed to Schottia team, or Port Christopher team. Probably means nothing, but I just had a feeling as I took my leave, that this wouldn't be the last we heard on this issue, nor would it be the last we heard of Camila's footballing exploits.
