BELLUM FIGHTING CONFEDERATION

MMA is one of the oldest sports in the world, dating back to the days of the ancient Greeks. It's a combat sport that instead of focusing on striking or grappling, combines both of them into a style that takes from all forms of martial arts and allows fighters to use a full arsenal of techniques. For a long time, the multiverse has lacked an MMA competition, but that will soon change with the creation of the Monarch Sports funded Bellum Fighting Confederation. Unlike other MMA competitions, this one is divided into seasons. During each season, a set number of events will happen across a number of weight classes, to determine the champions of the league. Each season will also take place in a different locale, with a bidding process to determine who will gain hosting rights. The first season is set to kick off as soon as a host is determined. The matches will be scorinated using xkoranate(which has no MMA option but has multiple combat sports options. Which formula is used will be up to each host), and the first competition will be rankless as none of the fighters will have experience in the competition. More information will emerge as host bids arrive. To sign up, only a comment is required. You'll sign up your actual teams/fighters once the Everything Thread is up.

I didn't realize that an MMA scorinator had come out, I'll definitely look into using that instead.

I think you hosting is the best plan anyway, because you're apt to have the clearest picture of how this could work. Do it one time, show us a way, and then let other people refine what you've come up with

I would bid to host but I'm really busy at the moment so I don't have time. Also, I agree with Hasznia that you probably have the clearest picture of how this event would go down.

Okay, so here's the format for this thing.

The weight classes are going to be flyweight through heavyweight, plus women's bantamweight and women's flyweight. Basically the divisions are going to use the UFC structure. Everyone can enter a fighter in each weight class. Certain nations will earn the right to send more in future competitions, but for now it's one per nation. The champions of the divisions will be determined(at least for now, because there's no ranks yet) by a round robin, though this will probably change once the ranks are established(the host will probably be responsible for setting up matchups). The nation declared the grand champion will be the one who has the most division titles at the end of the season.

I might get the everything thread up later today, where you can list your fighters.

I'm drafting the everything thread but I think I want to hold off on posting it and get a co-host. You'd need to score on certain days if you co-host, because I want to have daily fights and I don't know if that will work consistently for the entirety of the tournament.

I have a couple of questions:
1) how long will the tournament roughly be?
2) what structure will it have (group stages, round 16, quarter finals, semis, final ect)
3) are you using Must10inator or xkoranate?
Also, I would co-host, but as I've said previously I'm super busy at the moment.
