I too must confess to a slight naming snafu.

If possible, could Roque De Almeida be amended to Roque De Santa? He’s in Athletics, Men’s 200m.

Maybe he wants to assist with the Olympics and unless something dodgy is going on where they only want certain qualifiers so they in turn can ensure their mates win spots in all the qualifiers.

Cant someone simply say sure. You can help me with some of the basic stuff.

The reason why you cannot simply do that is because of how much work these events can demand. It is expected that you be on top of handling the scorinator and make sure that you are not going to make mistakes, or if you do....fix them accordingly. This is to ensure that even if things might go catastrophically on an event, it would not screw up great parts of the Olympic Games overall.

In order to ensure, that you need to have such scorination experience well in advance. Scorination and hosting experiences, especially to the point where you'll be able to reach that level of expectations successfully, don't come so handily in such a short matter of time.

That would be the case if I was asking to host the football. I'm not. I'm asking to host the American football, a demonstration event which doesn't even count towards your skill modifier.

I think that's a fair argument, since it doesn't affect medals. However CH's made his decision and I don't think going on about it will change his mind. As has already been said, the best way to put yourself out there is to host smaller tournaments first. We all had to do that before getting the big gigs.

On a separate note, however, you mention on the previous page that you, I quote, "don't take part in many events on ns sport because I am studying for a law degree, work full time and am writing a book, while also having a boyfriend, a social life, musical commitments, and membership in other rps as well as gameplay". Hosting takes a lot of time and effort, and requires full dedication. I would suggest that if you are indeed that busy with everything, hosting should not necessarily be that high on your to-do list. As West Phoenicia correctly points out, it is a lot of work for very little return.

Stupid question from someone who hasn't participated in several years. Does anyone have a link to a roster template?

There is no particular template for rosters, so it's up to you on how to make it as you want :)

The question is: Whether you have the experience or not.

With the hosting job, it's not as easy as you may think on rectifying it. Editing a post or two isn't just what happens out there, unless you're thinking of a host's job as granted, because you need to do more than that. If those with experience may experience hosting at times, why should you be trusted when you have gazillions of RL/other NS commitments and very few, if any, hosting experience?

Apologies for the delay, but the qualifying draws will be posted and input files delivered to the event hosts within the next few hours.

Taeshan wrote:Just one note my Women's Volleyball team is listed as taking part in the AO qualifying part rather than the Rushmore qualifying part.

Yes, I accidentally marked all the Rushmori nations as AO in the post for that event. It’ll be correct in the actual draw.

Coraspia wrote:I just want 'Sian Suthers' to become 'Maria Schtenko.'

Ndaku wrote:Now that the draws are up, would it be too late to request a minor change of the names for one of my women's beach volleyball entry Alisia De Santigo/Alisia De Santigo to Alisia De Santigo/Sissie Abujamal? I mistakenly copied and pasted Alisia De Santigo's name twice for the team.

Sargossa wrote:I too must confess to a slight naming snafu.

All done.

Krytenia wrote:I'd suggest TGing CH the details. Don't forget to tell him the event Sian/Maria is entered into; such a minor change should be OK (though I can't speak for CH, obviously), but at this point in time the host has a lot of data-related admin to do, so full details would make things that much quicker for both of you.

I prefer to address issues like this here rather than by TG.

Coraspia wrote:If I didn't think I could host it, I wouldn't have said I would host it. It'd be really easy for CH to rectify (he just edits a post or two.)

It’d be even easier for me to go jump off a bridge, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to do it.

Please keep this thread clear of pointless arguments so that they don’t interfere with people trying to report actual issues.

As Liventia pointed out to me, the draw for men’s beach volleyball had originally listed Tom Maxwell/Chris Hart (ETM) as both the second and third team in Group L3. In fact, the third team in the group is Giannis Newton/Matthew Le Goff (EFL).

Sorry for scorination taking longer than expected, guys. I had some unexpected matters to clear halfway through the process, and that took a while to clear. From next MD's scorination it'll take lot less time hopefully.

Bit of a mix-up in the Women's Beach Volleyball. The Sargossan duo of Danika Candela/Cierra Zayas were drawn to play in Group L1. But Danica Hunt/Maritza Santos of Vettrera (originally drawn in A5) are in there instead.

Signups were open for over a month, so you can't really complain about missing the deadline.

Liventia, I think there's a problem in MD2 of the women's volleyball (group L4).

Clara Shulman/Kathern Frutos (KRN) 21 16 15
Annie Millar/Clare Kelly (TLI) 5 21 17

Group L4 Pld W L PF PA Avg Pts
1 Clara Shulman/Kathern Frutos 2 2 0 4 1 4.000 4
2 Annie Millar/Clare Kelly 2 1 1 3 2 1.500 3
(...)

I don't quite get how Shulman/Frutos can lose their game 2-1 but still have an unbeaten record in the table, unless of course we actually won it 2-1 (21-5/16-21/17-15) as the table suggests.

That'll be my error in compiling the manual tables (which I had to do because I removed Group L1 to fix the error with Sargossa's entry, which screwed up all the remaining tables for the other groups in xkoranate). The score is accurate; the table is not. I'll fix that.

The semi-finals of Quebec's athletics events don't seem to have been drawn properly. Athletes from the same NOC can't be in the same heat. Pointing it out here so people in those qualifiers can take this into consideration when RPing, if a decision is made to retcon the affected results.

I could be mistaken, but it looks like all the affected nations had three athletes in the semifinals. With only two heats, you had to have multiple ones in the same heat.
