Myana seems to be running away with it now - twenty-one games scored and nine goals conceded in the six matches; Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov is going nuclear, and the Islanders have an eight-point lead this point in the season. It's good to see Tihon back up in second place - Medberg Hansen is really starting to work well with M'bah-Pinho; Urrheddiao keeps playing well with Todaka and the defenders playing solidly in front of Sheppard. Chromatik have had some topsy-turvy games, but remain in fourth - still scoring at an absurd rate.

Anomalies have fallen a bit more on harder times - they simply aren't getting the goals at the right times; Crossroads remains the hard out that they've proven themselves to be - they simply don't lose very often anymore. Tihon United being in seventh place just makes sense, while Sanar hangs around, ahead of better teams like Alnio, Wirr Tsi, and Lhor.

Of the teams at the bottom of the table, Lanar and Pria City stand out. Getting just Cyamou may not have been enough for the Red Hawks - they keep conceding goals at an absurd rate, while Liang has been really struggling. Yes, he'll get some slack as it's his first season, but just how long does that slack last?

Game of the Day: Alnio 1-1 Chromatik

A Jasno Skenderovic free kick in injury time allows the Brewers to steal a point at home after Strand and company had controlled the pace of play since Singh's goal in the initial ten minutes, as the result sees Chromatik fall behind even Urrheddiao.

Performance of the Day: Urrheddiao ST Billie Blue Hamisi

In a rare game where Ines Sheppard struggled - Lhor scored two goals in lightning fashion in the first fifteen - the Quebecois striker was stellar, with a hat trick in the second half, helped along by Jen Ta Jin and Tasha Kamarandan.

Matchday 27

Game of the Day: Chromatik 1-0 Myana

If Chromatik are to pull out the comeback to threaten the title, they needed this win - and to stop Myana for ninety minutes is stellar. Strand had nine saves, Crossley scored on a header from a Wawanolett cross, and the Capitalizt remain in the mix.

Performance of the Day: Wirr Tsi Left Winger Arachne Loeher

When Wirr Tsi does well, it's mostly because of Loeher. A hat trick in fifteen minutes early to take the lead? Check. An assist to Ventura when it seemed like Omnio was starting to come back? She's a class act.

Matchday 28

Result of the Day: Tihon 1-2 Tihon United

Need any more proof that Tihon United is in serious contention for international club competition? The Cyclones' drubbing of the Tide, Mette Sondheim scoring the game winner, puts them in a great spot. It also knocks Tihon down a peg, letting Urrheddiao into the mix.

Performance of the Day: Felswyr Striker Tóbías Hallvarðsson

A brace against Myana actually moved the Frost up to seventeenth place - with the Islanders losing a bit of their gap. It's been a hard season for the Frost, but this victory shows real hope.

Matchday 29

Result of the Day: Urrheddiao 1-0 Wirr Tsi

It's always tense when these two teams play - they both play very defensively - but Keiki Todaka, Ines Sheppard, and Emi van Kalvenhaar prevail, letting Jin's knifing shot stand. Urrheddiao, in second place, only three points behind? Why not?

Performance of the Day: Lhor Left Winger Líndís Végeirsdóttir

Lhor does well when Líndís does well, and a brace helps the Orcas beat the Crusaders as Lhor holds onto hope of making it into the top seven.

Matchday 30

Result of the Day: Myana 6-2 Omnio

A hat trick from Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov, a timely strike by Laborious Hawk, and a brace from Edith Fillar just pepper the Techies to no end.

Performance of the Day: Lanar Goalkeeper Wemagun Cyamou

That is why the Red Hawks paid a small fortune to get the Ko-orenite keeper - outdueling Ines Sheppard, stopping all six shots on goal, and helping the team stay in the game before Rudy Vanderley was able to slot the lone goal home. The Red Hawks just need to survive this season.

Matchday 31

Result of the Day: Urrheddiao 1-1 Alnio

United should've won this game. Like, truly. They had 73% possession, eleven shots on goal, and the first goal of the game - just for Wendy Thomas to score off a corner kick with a deft kick that bounces off of Cunningham's head. What a finish.

Performance of the Day: Anomalies Goalkeeper Jessika Aniston

Fifteen shots saved, including three ridiculous ones that Tihon should've scored on. Aniston's come into her own this season, and she'll be an sset for many years to come.

It takes extra time for Frenei to escape the ridiculous run of Kingslayers, while Chromatik's B team wins easily. Frenei will have a chance at the Violet Cup, and if they win, they'll make the IFCF CC.

Rainbow League System Season Seventeen Matchdays 32-37

Matchday 32

Eight corner kicks. Five free kicks. Twenty-three shots on goal, eleven of them good chances. None of it is able to decide the tie between the Islanders and United, as the draw doesn't help either team. Chromatik draws within four of Myana, having dispatched Chromatik after a dispassionate start. Nobody could've predicted Urrheddiao's surge late, but will they be able to break the duopoly of Chromatik and Myana?

Tihon's tenuous lead on Tihon United for the fourth placed spot continues as both teams win narrowly, Medberg Hansen's partnership with M'bah-Pinho being on full display while the Cyclones keep suffocating opponents. Crossroads edges past Wirr Tsi with Archer's brace to establish a line of demarcation, while Anomalies are simply had by a Pria City squad that's almost secured safety in their first season under Liang Bo. The Submarines hold onto hope of survival by knocking Frenei down a peg, Lhor gains a leg up on Alnio for that final IFCF CC Playoff berth, and Lanar uses Crix as a springboard to be two points clear. Eyrods does the same in Felswyr's expense - nobody thought Lu Qiang's first season at the helm would be this difficult.

Matchday 33

What is going on with Myana? Lhor pounces early in the first seventeen minutes, and never lets up - getting four past Olexander, only letting Xuen-Zhukov get one back, and letting Chromatik have a chance - just for the Cyclones to tie them up - a testament to just how much they've grown on the season; Urrheddiao are the biggest winners, having shut out Frenei for the seventeenth clean sheet of Ines Sheppard's season - they really are going to make this a three-horse race.

With a drubbing of the Submarines, the gap is now five points between the Tide and Cyclones, while the Crusaders dominate the Red Hawks to get ahead of an Anomalies team that can't score versus the Jungle Cats. Wirr Tsi holds onto hope of that miracle comeback in a tight win over the Yellow Jackets. Alnio makes short work of cellar dwellers Crix, the Monarchs' resurgence continues in a shutout performance over Omnio, and Qet NSC gets one step closer to safety by destroying the Frost.

Matchday 34

Alarm bells in Myana as they lose in front of their home crowd to bottom dwellers Crix - Jax Hasa deserves the credit, but what's the issue with the Islanders? Chromatik pounces on the opportunity as they get five past the Yellow Jackets to take the lead atop the table now. Urrheddiao aren't that far behind, having shut down United - as the Crusaders are only three points behind, reminding Alnio that this is just not their season with Archer's hat trick.

Tihon United falters at home to the Frost, who're playing some of their best football all season, as Anomalies are also faltering late, QNSC dominating their match; coupled with Wirr Tsi laying an egg in Lanar, it allows Lhor to get all the way up to ninth. Pria City is somehow in tenth place after Vissie Brass's brace, and Omnio and Eyrod's draw doesn't help either team on the table.

Matchday 35

Though Myana returns to form, it's not that great - a narrow win away at Myana that Chromatik matches at Frozen Stadium, while it's United that has the better win at home against the recently frisky Monarchs. Tide's second half form is great to beat the Orcas as the delineation between the top three and the rest continues, while the Cyclones fall off a cliff away at the Anomaly Tower. Wirr Tsi loses in heartbreaking fashion as Ventura's four goals are answered by a hat trick from Varða and a brace from Hammersley.

Qet NSC have put together a great series of results to show they really belong in the Red League, while Eyrods keeps tying; the Rainbow Derby delivers in terms of intensity as a draw is reached, and Frenei stop their slide by returning Crix back to the cellar.

Matchday 36

The entirety of the top three win - Chromatik in the Chromia Derby as Anja Zoric's best isn't enough, Myana at home to Wirr Tsi to remind the Shock of the difference in level of competition, and Urrheddiao utterly handling the Eyrods at University of Myana stadium, never being pressured at all. This cements the top three as the top three - making it Tihon's job to hold onto fourth. Thankfully, playing Crix is better than a bye - as the six goals suggest.

This leaves Crossroads the Tihon United as the next two teams up. The Crusaders contend with a hat trick from Jack Reed but five past proves to be enough, while United beat Omnio to be just two points behind - Sondheim pacing them. Lhor's draw against the Monarchs shows just how much the Monarchs have improved through the season - they have a chance to finish within the top ten and around .500. Sanar and Felswyr play to a tense draw, while Qet NSC's run is cut short by Marion Goo in a career match. Finally, Alnio outscores Lanar to try to get within the top ten, but it may be just a bit too late.

Matchday 37

The only loss from Chromatik in recent memory just happens to be away at Omnio - Lucien Alszeghy having the best game of his season to counteract Bevilacqua's brace; then, Myana is held to a draw by a valiant bid from Lanar to not have to worry about relegation, leaving the door wide open from Urrheddiao to settle in at second place. United's chances at breaking the duopoly remain as good as ever.

Tihon handle Crossroads to secure themselves the fourth place spot in the Red League, while Tihon United falter at a chance to gain ground, done in by Moussenguet; Anomalies are victim to Felswyr's bid to not be relegated, as the Frost are playing for Lu late in the season. Lower on the table, Eyrods posts what is their fourth goalless draw in six matches, not able to distance themselves from the bottom five, while Crix upsets Pria City's bid to make a late push, having been eliminated already. Sanar holds onto hope of a late barrage of results by beating the Brewers at RCK Field, and pandemonium is set to erupt on the final matchday. Wirr Tsi improve to .500, and will once again have a chance to salvage the season by going over .500 and a spot in the IFCF CC Playoff.

After a horrid start, FK Shakhter completes their turnaround to make it back to the Red League - While Anchors FC takes the title by surviving BT Ming to a draw while the Breakers are upset by Urrhed State. Not the best end to the season. Z'ai'ai had won just enough games to qualify for the Promotion/Relegation Playoff. It's the first title for Anchors in the Orange League since the inaugural season of the Orange League; Darrell Bourke had his hands full but put together a masterful season.

It's been a forgettable season for Frenei save their cup run that could yield them a surprising IFCF CC Berth - but they give their home fans a show in taking care of the Red Hawks. By virtue of superior Goal Differential, Lanar survives - Cormac Meyer was one of the better strikers in the league, but the signing of Cyamou wasn't enough to shore up their defense. Sandra Sybill will have her hands full upgrading that in the offseason if the team wants to get back up to contending for midtable. As for Liang Bo and the Monarchs, a dismal start has turned around late - Vissie Brass is a name to keep an eye on, and Graham Hughes has come into his own. Crossroads didn't need this win - they were clinched in the top six regardless of what happened - but perhaps they should've played a bit cleaner given Frenei's presence in the Violet Cup Final - but Skeggestad and the Crusaders had already completed their mission of making it to international competition. Kate Archer remains a premier striker in the Red League as another Euran menace.

Both these teams needed a win to make sure that they don't get relegated off the bat - and they come through. For Devin Munoz and the Jungle Cats, it was another season of solid defense - along with Vesper Benedetti continuing to establish himself as a great striker. Crix was always going to be overwhelmed in the Red League, and the Stars will head back to the Orange League. As for Lu Qiang, the first season in charge of Felswyr couldn't have gone much worse. In the end, Tóbias and company were able to do enough to not get automatically relegated, but it's going to be an uphill battle. Omnio fell on hard times - Steve Nicholls' team just lacked much creativity this season - and the biggest question will now be if they'll retain him or not.

Wirr Tsi needed this win to secure their spot in the IFCF CC Berth Playoffs - especially if Frenei Tor wins the Violet Cup. Kathie Begley has struggled a bit this season, but was spectacular in a game that the Tide kind of let go away. Tihon wasn't able to put up a title challenge, but Charing, Applegate, and company - helped along by one Medberg Hansen - will ensure that the team finishes in the IFCL for yet another season. In a bit of a downturn, the Orcas needed a positive result against a surprising Qet NSC side that put up more of a fight than anyone expected. Mousa Sangaré was the savior, equalizing late in the game, to make sure that they'll finish ninth - good for a spot in those IFCF CC Playoffs regardless of what Frenei does. As for Anomalies, Jessika Aniston posts her seventeenth clean sheet of the season as Anja Zoric's goal is the only one the team needs; they'll either be guaranteed a spot or have to play in those playoffs depending on what happens in the Violet Cup Final. Not that Sanar fans will complain much - Helena Arstem has her Yellow Jackets ahead of schedule - Edgar Hönigswald is a fun talent to watch, Qiao He has become an established name, and the future is bright.

Myana 76. Urrheddiao 76. Chromatik 75. Everything on the line in the final day - and it starts with Chromatik. Kontiola's side struggled mightily in the first nineteen matches, but have put together a run in the second half to truly make things interesting. Sophie Singh will win another Golden Boot, and the addition of Þorgríma Vigdis has truly unleashed one Rebecca Anne Wawanolett. They take care of an already relegated Urrhed FC team with gusto, as all eyes turn to Myana and Tihon for the other two matches. Are there many ways that Chromatik can improve? Not likely - they just need to not drop the ball so much in the early going.

Meanwhile, Myana hosted an Alnio squad needing a positive result to make sure that they have a chance at the IFCF CC. A 2-2-2 record in their last six had put Marco Hemmings's squad in this situation - and it proved to be too much. Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov would get his brace, but Stuart Hammersley, the Tikariotian, connected his head to a Jasno Skenderovic cross to salvage a draw to put the Brewers in decent position. Myana's season will be remembered for how they closed it out - where for some reason, the team looked tight, a bit uncertain, and a bit lost at times.

Urrheddiao's final opponent of the season were Tihon United - a team that's already done way better than anyone expected. At stake for the Cyclones? A chance at fifth place; United would need a win and Myana to not win, as their style of play means they lose out on Goal Differential. With all United fans keeping an eye on Myana-Alnio throughout the entire game, Cantwell Lamorak would be the first to score in this pivotal match, as Ella Moore's cross was sublime; then, Keiki Todaka, the Ko-orenite wonderkid, scored the first goal of his young career on a corner from Tasha Kamarandan.

With Chromatik's result set in stone, Myana would take the lead on that breakaway from Laventiy; then, Hammersley answered, and United fans could see the potential of something grand. The Cyclones retreated to their final third, content to try to play for the draw. United, not used to being the one dictating the pace, started to press - and Ruo Xiaolan made a fateful decision - Saskia Drupplemandel in for Hrútur Melkíorsson. The Ko-orenite/Chromatik dual national would be the one to hit the deep cross in the eighty-eighth minute that settled in between Otilier and Riksdal, letting Bille Blue Hamisi get to it - and the Quebecois striker's strike was true.

United then played their patented suffocating defense for the final seven minutes, and they had won the Red League for the first time - their first domestic title in Chromatika since Season Four of the League Chromatiks, a span of nineteen seasons.

It turns out, the Violet Cup win from last season wasn't a fluke. It turns out, defense can win championships - and it turns out that spending money on talents like Emi van Kalvenhaar and Keiki Todaka is worthwhile.

Transfer Impact: Defense was obviously the biggest point of concern last season - scoring eighty-three goals shows that this team definitely has scorers all over. Will the bringing in of a new Right Back and a new Center Back be enough to turn their fortunes around, though? Honestly, if they can just concede about ten goals less, they'll be in such a better shape. With Byrne almost nearing twenty years at the helm of the club, it remains to be seen if the brass would want a change after their dismal showing last season.

You Might Be an Alnio Fan if... You're a techie, you like the Red and White theme, you like supporting a Capital District team not based in Chromia, you like a team that stays true to its town, or you like a team owned by Luuk Aart.

Background: Located thirty-one miles east of Chromatik City, Alnio is the technological capital of Chromatika, and almost dead center of the Capital District. Home of Black Raven Technologies, Alnio was sold prior to Season 1 of the Rainbow League System by the Alnio Labor Union, one of the biggest Labor Unions in Chromatika, to Lammerton Lager of Schottia, making it the first foreign-owned team in Chromatik history. Luuk Aart, retired Anomalies player and husband of the Premier, bought half the club after the fifth season, and all of the team by the ninth season, though they’ve kept the Brewers name. RCK Field is the heart of Alnio, surrounded by shopping malls and a huge food court. RCK Field seats 32,000 comfortably, though it can hold 100,400 in times of emergency. It's a fun town, it's a sleek town, and it's a fascinating town.

Fan Support/Club Culture: The recent success brought on by the Brewers under Rachel Byrne has only helped an already blossoming fanbase grow even bolder, establishing themselves as more of a title contender than Anomalies, Crossroads, and even Tihon now. They do remain cognizant of their place - Alnio doesn't have the backfield needed to put up a title challenge against the likes of Chromatik and Myana - but if they can score in the eighties every season, they'll be entertained, playing consistent international football, and constantly cementing their place as one of the best teams in the Red League. The last season is viewed as a hiccup by many, but if they continue to falter, the bill will come due.

With the purchase of the club by one Luuk Aart, the club's culture has only grown to be better and tighter knit together. As the ownership is someone who used to be a player, they know and understand what it takes to win; Alnio is known around the league as a great place to play at and for - not too far away from the limelight, but far enough away from the consistent pressure that playing for Myana, Chromia, or Tihon may bring.

Key Player: CM Wendy Thomas

Stephen Kerr and Trudy Harrison have led the way for so many Tumbrans to not only join but thrive in the Red League. With the Pearsons, Knight, Hicks, Hooper, and now Wendy Thomas, Chromatika has become a great ground for Tumbrans to ply their craft. Thomas has made a name for herself with physique, versatility, and a nose for the ball, along with her ability to work with Skenderovic, Myeong, and now Varða . This team outscores almost anyone, anyway, and she is a part of that.

Name to Watch: ST Shannon Cunningham

Having won the Golden Boot while being relegated in the past, Cunningham was signed by Alnio and immediately scored twenty-there goals in two straight seasons, following it up with a twenty-two goal season and a twenty-five goal season. With killer instinct and the ability to take over a game, she's one of the best of a wave of young strikers that has taken over the league - and as long as she keeps up this level of form, they have a chance at being a mainstay in the top four. Just watch her work, knowing that she is only twenty-four. She's added unselfishness to her list of attributes, learning how to play well with others as the team has added more and more weapons.

Expectation for the Season: With so many great options along the front, Byrne is tasked with a simple yet complicated task - just concede less. If the team doesn't reach the IFCF berths, she may be facing the end of her long tenure in the Red League. There's no denying the fact that Tihon and Urrheddiao and even Crossroads have supplanted them as the biggest contender aside from the big two of Myana and Chromatik, but there is no reason why this team shouldn't be at least in the conversation.

Predicted Finish: IFCF Berth Fight (5th-8th)

A step back from being a contender, as defense remains one of the biggest hurdles for this team to figure out. Their offensive firepower is so potent that they can outscore most opponents, but the best of teams will put them in their place.

Did You Know... Alnio is the original team to have made a deep run in the LBCT in the season that they returned to the Red League - something that teams like Tihon United and Eyrods have followed up to replicate to a lesser extent. To those that say that the Red League is too high on established names, look no further than where Alnio was not that long ago. Alnio is a giant that's just waiting to explode.

Transfer Impact: Anchors tried to really shore up their squad with bargain deals this window, bringing in Säfqvist and Frenandez to add to Holmes and Nadel and then signing Vas, who had been a reserve player in the Red League for a while. Survival will be a challenge but it's still a good look for the Anchors after winning the Orange League.

You Might Be an Anchors FC Fan if... You are fan of small town teams, you don't want to support the Islanders while living in Myana, you like watching teams with talent from The Licentian Isles/Tikariot, or you like watching Darell Bourke work.

Background: The “other team” in Myana, Anchors FC is located in the very center of the city, away from the ports. Though they have a small home field, Anchors fans - the Dockworkers - are rather proud of their little team that could. Owned by the Environs Dock Company, Anchors mission is to be relevant while spending as little money as possible, as they don’t have a ton of money. Come by to The Dock for a good, solid, wholesome time, though.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Anchors have a very small yet loyal fanbase that pride themselves in being Myana Island citizens that won't support the huge presence that is Myana. They are a bunch of bluebloods who've earned every single NMS that they've made, and they're proud of the fact that their club is much of the same. In fact there's been a handful of opportunities for Anchors to be bought out by bigger entitites, but they've turned it down every time. They'll take being not as successful if it means maintaining their independence.

Key Player: RM Ailis Ferguson

Now an established veteran, Ferguson is the playmaking option. Ferguson has led the team in assists for the last eight seasons. Is she good enough to perform in the Red League level this time around? That will be what's needed if they are to establish themselves as a mainstay - as well as the veteran know-how.

Name to Watch: SS/RW Anna-Lena Knacke

Not the biggest established name, but Knacke's knack of finding space to create off of is something else. Her blooming may get her noticed by the Chromatik Football Federation, but even if it doesn't, it should see her at least get established as a perennial Red League player. This is her biggest chance to show that she belongs, even if the team goes down.

Predicted Finish: Relegation Battle (16th-20th)

It's going to be a war at the bottom of the table. Anchors are a head above the other promoted teams, and have experience to boot. It's going to be hard to not have to fight to stay above relegation, but they have a legitimate shot.

Did You Know... Environs Dock Company has a history dating to the days of the Chromatik Party, but were one of the first to join the Rainbow Revolution. This has given them the clout to be one of the companies that have the best reputation in the country. They handle all the docks in Myana, Urrheddiao, and the other ports, and have been growing steadily.

Transfer Impact: Mithya Hashemi retires. Noticing that the back line is aging, Ascroft brings in Barbieri and Tian. Emily Tobin becomes the first Drawkish player to play in the Red League. There should be a lot more stability in their play this year as the creative players continue to go all out.

You Might Be an Anomalies Fan if... You like rebelling against the city's aristocracy, you like a team that has had success recently, you are a patriot and want to support a team that has the same name as the national team, you like pentagrams, you support the Rainbow Party in Chromia, or you really like the black and white theme.

Background: Always considered the "Other Chromia Team", Anomalies Football Club, or "AFC" for short, is located in the southern part of the city, away from the political center and more in the economic one. The Anomaly Tower is a stadium built on top of a five-star restaurant that closes during the matches. The more blue-collar workers support the team and call themselves "The True Anomalies". It is a club seeped in history - as they still keep the old moniker of "Anomaly" - and a bitter rivalry with the Chromatik Capitalizt. They have had success in the Red League era, becoming the third team in Chromatik history to accomplish the three-peat from Season 2 through Season 4 before falling on more challenging times in Seasons 5 through 9. Now, with Ascroft, they’re trying to turn a new page - and have climbed back up to relevance, though their archrivals continue to thrive.

Fan Support/Club Culture: While it is true that Anomalies share a lot of the same fans with Crossroads, as Chromia based citizens who don't like the Capitalizt. AFC have fallen on hard times as of late when compared to their biggest hated rivals, Chromatik.

It took a while to get established, but the Griffin Ascroft way of playing - hard, gritty, and choking the life out of your opponents for the entirety of ninety minutes while preying on any weakness shown - is starting to work. This is a no-nonsense club who's all business and loves to give opposing sides a beatdown, and everyone has fully bought in at this point. Consistently finishing sixth in the last two seasons, they're looking for a way to get a step up - or at least stay put.

Key Player: CM Susie Knight

The spark plug that kickstarts every good offensive thing that the team does, Knight has become the most important piece on the field for AFC. She can shoot from range and has some speed, but it's her vision, leadership, and passing ability with either foot that sets her apart. Add in the fact that she's rather good at taking free kicks, and it makes sense why the focus on the team has shifted from the strikers to one of the most attractive players in the Red League. She's now the team Captain, and the lynchpin that keeps the scoring chances for AFC flowing.

Name to Watch: LM Maude Qalicho-Qaqqaq

A more defensive winger/side midfielder who is a work in progress, the best part about Maude is her ability to carry the same intensity in the second half as the first half. She will eventually outlast her opponents, and when they are reeling, she will be the one to press onto the attack. Now having established herself in Anomalies, Maude has even more freedom to do whatever she wants in the forward half as long as she is also contributing on the back end. This is the perfect fit for a player like her, and her growth has been paramount to the team’s performance. It is because of that growth that Anomalies has really started to hit their stride.

Expectation for the Season: For Jessika Aniston to continue to be established as an elite keeper in the league, for Victor Kleinheinsterkamp and Astrid Swain to help Barbieri and Tian settle in; for Tobin to help Knight, Kearney, and Qalicho-Qaqqaq - and for Zoric/Berenguer to keep scoring the same way they have. Do they have enough to crack the top four? It's not likely, but possible.

Panel's Prediction: IFCF Berth Fight (5th-8th)

Anomalies should be in the top third of the teams in the Red League once again. Shifting the defense will be a challenge, but they've really established the way that they want to play the game. If Knight/Zoric/Berenguer can score a little more consistently, they'll be even better off.

Did You Know... The Chromia Derby continues to sell out every season, regardless of the power disparity between the two clubs. Anomalies may be a bit lower in the power level compared to their rivals, but they continue to play hard.

Background: One of the main football teams of the Capitol, Capitalizt is located in the government/business center of the city, using the national stadium as their own. They have a huge following - though Anomalies and other clubs had won over many of their fans due to their inability to win a title. Capitalizt comes from a term used by the Chromatik Party in the days of old to talk about their businessmen. It took a while for Kontiola to come true with his promise, but the Capitalizt are really revving now, and are in the prime of their contending period.

Fan Support/Club Culture: The Capitalizt are a rowdy, loyal fan group that are in their heyday. It took them forever to win a title, but then they reeled off so many in a row. They think that as long as the core of Harrison, Kerr, and Singh are present, they can win any season - and with Kontiola at the helm, why not? Their biggest historical rivals are the Anomalies, but they are starting to form an even bigger one with Myana, their fellow contenders for the title.

To play for Chromatik is to bask in the glory of it all while understanding it is a double edged sword. Excellence is expected, and falling short is not an option. To Kontiola's credit, he's established a professional yet loose atmosphere - it's a close-knit club, even if it's one that's used to success.

Key Player: CDM Trudy Harrison

Harrison’s arrival to Chromatik had a lot of hype around it, and she hasn’t disappointed. After one season on the bench, she took over for a departing Leysa Burns, and the Tumbran hasn’t looked back. Now, she’s the unquestioned leader of the team, helping in both the defending end as well as creating the last line of attack as the situation warrants itself, as she’s shown in multiple occasions. Her role of a deep lying playmaker surprises opposing teams from time to time, and her confidence in her abilities as a midrange shooter has only grown with time. In the middle of her prime, Harrison's role as the best Defensive Midfielder in the Red League cannot be understated - she allows the rest of the team to play as aggressive as they do.

Name to Watch: ST Dénes Robineau

Farfadillis' best striker since Xíxì Êns and currently its biggest star. Coming off a fantastic season in the S-FPL but having signed a one-year contract he is considering his options. A bit of a diva but difficult to discipline because his commitment and sheer goalscoring output are impossible to argue with. He'll get plenty of chances as part of Chromatik, and may be that star the team needs to end up back on top.

Expectation for the Season: Urrheddiao shocked everyone by winning the title, taking it away from Chromatik and Myana. With another rival looming, Chromatik fans expect them to end back on top - especially with the signing of Robineau.

Panel's Prediction: Title Contender (1st-4th)

The time to win again is now, before other teams get entrenched up top.

Did you Know... Letting go of Wawanolett was a tough decision, but once Robineau came in, it was either her or Singh. The team decided on Wawanolett instead of Singh, and that was that.

Then, he grabbed Alice Weston and Leon Macek. Getting two Sylestoneans immediately raises the defensive level of the team, and the Squornshelan Manager keeps making his mark on the club.

You Might Be a Crossroads Fan if... You like flipping off Anomalies and Chromatik, you're a college kid, you like the underdog story, you like the knight motif, you like watching exciting wingers with a poaching forward, you're a fan of the iconic Justtina Dannysdóttir or you like being the least likely titleholder in Red League history.

Background: Considered the "Third Club" of Chromia (then Chromatik City), Crossroads bears the moniker of having shared a field with Chromatik for the longest of time. Now they share a field with Chromia Central College University, the Crusaders building up their own brand. CCCU fans have started to gravitate toward this club, them being rebels that don't like being tied to AFC and CC. Crusaders remain the rebel club that fans of other teams tend to root for among the squads based in Chromia; whenever they are doing well, fans outside of the Capitol rejoice. They’re known for iconic strikers – Justiina Dannysdóttir and Kate Archer.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Crusaders fans are some of the most beleaguered in the league - they don't have the financial support of Chromatik nor the pedigree of Anomalies. Instead, they are mostly young adults who simply don't know better than to support the underdog. They may be the smallest club based in Chromia in the Red League, but they play some entertaining football - and with the mean streak that is being introduced by Skeggestad, it should be fun.

Skeggestad's system will be far more hardworking and hardnosed than ever, and that will end up with the Crusaders looking more like the Anomalies. It will be fascinating to see just how having an iron hand will shape a team that was so long defined by finesse and pretty goals. They've already finished ahead of Anomalies in the last season, and continue to get built in Skeggestad's image.

Key Player: ST/CAM Finn Freeling

A young striker with plenty of potential, Freeling can play both in support as well as a no.9 equally well, as he's had to do both during his time at AFC Droves. He's used to not getting the ball very often - that's what happens when you play an offensive oriented position in Sylestone - which should mean that he will have a chance to truly show his mettle in Crossroads, where the striker reigns supreme.

Name to Watch: CM Brynjólfur Zhenyasson Zhang

The Græntfjall-raised son of former Dragons midfielder Zhang Zhenya returned to Yuezhou at his father's urging, and surprised everyone by becoming the linchpin of Royals' attack at a young age. A dynamic 8/10 hybrid who moves quickly with and without the ball, and who offers relentless energy on the defensive end, a move from Urrhed FC to Crossroads was exactly what this team needed. Zhang and Kassaya are what get this team going.

Expectation for the Season: More important than doing well this season is continuing to play Skeggestad's way; Crossroads fans will be hoping for the defense to pick up, for Freeling to score when they need it, and for them to continue to have a leg up on Anomalies, if they can handle it.

Panel's Prediction: IFCF Berth Fight (5th-8th)

Skeggestad will provide the discipline needed to keep the ship on track, the addition of Weston and Macek will help the defense, and Freeling will be a whole different kind of striker.

Did you Know... Crossroads has always had a one-striker formation. Justiina was the most famous, Archer was the mainstay for a while, and now, Freeling gets to take his turn.

Transfer Impact: Youth takes over in Eyrods, Mauer and Makkai coming from benches of other Red League clubs and Kim-Michel arriving from Omnio. Lexi Robertson is the collegiate grad, and the existence of Ástríður keeps the age down. In fact, there's only two starters older than thirty. It's the only way Munoz can try to do better without as much money as other clubs.

You Might Be an Eyrods Fan if... You like a small club that's being persistent, you like defensive football, you like the calming presence that Devin Munoz brings, you like Vesper Benedetti, or you're a big fan of Pasargan youth.

Background: The remnants of a club that used to call the city of Eyrods their home, the Jungle Cats have been playing at University of Myana stadium for two seasons now. They may return back to Eyrods, they may find a different home, or they may get bought out; turbulence is in the air for the small club.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Eyrods has a small, loyal, and almost menacing fanbase - even if it's one built on just overbearing kindness. Eyrods is built on playing defense and turning turnovers into lethal counterattacks. Though Eyrodii fans have scattered to the wind following the invasion, there should be a decent sized following of this team anyway as they recover.

Devin Munoz is a players' manager who is more of a motivator than a disciplinarian. Eyrodii players know how to play for each other and take their bond very seriously. It's heartwarming to watch, and as this team tries to lift up a struggling region onto their shoulders, it'll be interesting to see just how far they can go this season.

Key Player: LM Christine Yaroslav

Since being kicked out of Tihon due to not fitting in with the view of taking the team to a new level, Yaroslav has moved from team to team before settling in Eyrods. She was lethal from range in the most recent season, and plays the leadership role of coordination. Now in her thirties, she is rather apt at doing that.

Name to Watch: ST Vesper Benedetti

The big name signing two seasons ago, he tends to like to drop back into midfield from a number 9 starting position, often having it in the tank to get forward and score goals. He isn't afraid to get his hands dirty to score, something that the Jungle Cats will need if they are to contend in the nasty world of the Red League. He scored seventeen goals in his inaugural season - a third of the entire team - and is what keeps this team going.

Expectation for the Season: They survived last season, and they should this season - though the more important piece is what happens to the club at large. The youth pieces will be tested, Benedetti will keep scoring, and it'll be tight.

Panel's Prediction: Treading Water (13th-15th)

This is a team that should stay in the Red League without an issue as long as they don't let the circumstances surround them wear on them too much. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Did you Know... The University of Myana reached out to the Jungle Cats at the prodding of Myana, who appreciated the presence of a Red League team on the eastern half of their island. It didn't take much for the two sides to agree upon a rather amicable contract. The perfect solution for the situation at hand, going into the second season.

You Might Be a FK Shakhter Z’ai’ai Fan if... You like Pyazhnayans, you like foreign ownership doing well in Chromatika, you enjoy watching another small team win, you like Mountain District teams doing well, or you like Anaian interest in Chromatika continuing to grow.

Background: Z’ai’ai has traditionally had two major teams – Z’ai’ai and Miners FC. For those who didn’t care for either the big club nature of Z’ai’ai nor the mining implements of Miners FC, there is the third team – FK Shakhber Z’ai’ai. River Hanson has been the Manager for the entire run, and FK Shakhter has now become more of an established name in the Red League than Miners or Z'ai'ai, returning back to the Red League after a spell.

Fan Support/Club Culture: FK Shakhter attracts all kinds of fans - the expats that like Pyzhnayan leadership and players, the small town club fans that like seeing a team with a stadium that only holds 3,600 in the Red League, or someone who likes seeing Tikariotian/Pyzahnayan players.

River Hanson runs a rather tight ship at Fk Shakhter. Success is not as important as integrity and trying your best. She knows that the peak of this team is to be that yo-yo club, and she's okay with that. She likes to help those who want to succeed get to that next level, even if it means letting them go at the end.

Key Player: RB Dorothy Bear

A tall (6' 8") Right Back who knows how to use every inch. Not the fastest but uses her length to just get in the way. She did very well in her first season, and with a stellar keeper in Chupov gone, she was needed for this team to get a footing defensively. She'll now need to work with the de La Hay twins, too.

Name to Watch: Asceline de La Hay/Vaudeline de La Hay

They can cover both sides of the pitch, with elegant, excellent technique. They're not the best in the air, but great on the ground. They will play as both of the pair of center backs on the team, and they will be the backbone going forward.

Expectation for the Season: It's going to be hard for this team to stay afloat, but they should be an interesting loss, and there will be plenty of players who will get eyes on them from the rest of the league.

Panel's Prediction: Relegation Battle (16th-20th)

This isn't FK Shakhter's fault - it's the fact that the bottom of this league is rather strong these days. Does FK Shakhter have a shot at survival? Yes. Is there any reason why this team should make it while others do not? Not really. It'll be a dogfight till the end.

Did you Know... Pyazhmetal has reportedly said they may pour more money into the club in the future. If that happens, watch out.

Transfer Impact: With Janina leaving to take the Græntfjaller job - a disaster in retrospect - Pula Korischet comes in to take her place. With it comes Seekamp, Nagatomo, Debuer, Moussenguet, and Zhukova - with Stenhouse and Nedeljkovic leaving, for starters. Six new starters is a lot, but Korischet seeks to have a more stout defense, and that change of philosophy should usher in a new age.

You Might Be a Frenei Tor Fan if... You're a fan of small town teams, you like a team that stays loyal to their players, you like being fan of the team with one of the shortest names in the Red League, you like the Frenei brand, or you believe in the players enough to think they can carry on after Janina.

Background: A town located in the northeastern part of Urrhed island, Tor is a surfer's paradise. They were the laughingstock of the league for many years in the early days but have finally landed a team into the Red League. Frenei’s purchasing of Tor has brought not only funds but the trust to potentially do more in the Red League, though that's proven to be a bit harder than expected.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Frenei fans have the moniker of being spoiled brats who didn't have to suffer much to get to where they are since being bought by Frenei. They don't apologize for their team's success, though, and are fiercely loyal, even if some of them still don't like having the "Frenei" in front of the name. Their biggest rivals are Urrheddiao and Tihon, as they are the bigger clubs in Urrhed Island.

Pula Korischet spent the early part of her managerial career as the man-managing assistant to Morna Korenak, and was instrumental in Olympia's effort to overcome its reputation for poorly-behaved star footballers. She does an excellent job getting the best out of her players, believing that execution of simple tactics is better. It'll be getting back to simpler football.

Key Player: CM Cathal Maguire

Forever a bench player at Wirr Tsi, Maguire finally became a starter in Frenei, and has earned the Captaincy due to his leadership. With Stenhouse gone, he'll have to be who Susie Knight is at Anomalies - a playmaker through and through getting the ball to the striker up front in tandem with new signing Moussenguet.

Name to Watch: AM/CM Aurelien Moussenguet

Brave, roaming playmaker who is not the fastest nor the most physical, but has outstanding innate sense of timing and tempo. Possesses great footwork and passes very well. Could improve on pressing, but a master at counter-pressing. After a good season with Urrhed FC, he's now moved up to Frenei, with a chance to make his impact.

Expectation for the Season: They should return back to the top half of the table - it's going to be a dogfight, but the quality of players added is rather solid and the infrastructure is too sound to falter once again.

Panel's Prediction: Midtable (9th-12th)

It's a lot to change, but going defense-first makes sense after losing a personality like Janina. Moussenguet is the best addition, while Maguire will continue to step up.

Did you Know... Since acquiring Tor, Frenei's presence in the Chromatik clothing market has grown three times, now selling over 50% of all streetwear worn by Chromatiks. It pays to own a club in the top level of Chromatika.

With so many players that joined them in the last season, there's been enough shuffling already, or so James Masterson claims. It's another stint in the Red League for the veteran, now fifteenth season at the helm of the Breakers.

You Might Be a Hanai Breakers Fan if... You like a good vendetta story, you love watching suffocating defense, you are a fan of James Masterson’s antics, you are from Hanai, you like seeing players from interesting nations around the world, or you like the underdog.

Background: Known as a defensive powerhouse no matter what tier of football that they played in, the Breakers are a yo-you club that have had a bit of a hiatus from the red League. They are the best team from Hanai, which was a city better known for its baseball. What makes this team interesting is their suffocating style of play and James Masterson, their eccentric Manager - there shouldn’t be a dull moment with the Breakers around.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Breakers fans know they are in for the long haul - their club isn't the richest club out there, the infrastructure isn't the best, and their tight-knit nature is their best feature. It took six seasons to return back to the Red League, and they know it may not last a while, but the fans know they're overproducing.

With age, James Masterson has become even more ornery in his defense-first approach. The Breakers will always be one of the hardest teams to score against, and they will bruise anyone they come up against. With the track record of teams like Felswyr and Eyrods and the ceiling of Anomalies/Urrheddiao showing the power of defense, it'll be interesting to see what they can do this time around.

Key Player: CM/DM Herbie Chandelique

Having made a name for herself in Omnio, Chandelique steps into the Breakers in her second yo-yo club in a row. She's a solid presence in the center of the defense with good eyes to boot; it'll be interesting to see if she can make the most of a stint with a different team.

Name to Watch: GK Nezir Fadilpasic

Picked up on a free, Fadilpasic becomes the latest to try to test his mettle at the Red League level. A key part of the Breakers' play is getting good play from their keeper; his size and stature will be important going forward, as well as his ability to read the game. Can his play translate to this level?

Expectation for the Season:

Hanai Breakers fans have always expected for their team to return to the Red League - it's just taken six seasons this time. They would love for their team to survive, or at least make it to the Promotion/Relegation Playoff berths. If they can take points off of Tihon, Masterson's previous team? Even better.

Pundits' Prediction: Relegation Battle (16th-20th)

Just gaining Chandelique? A bold move, likely not enough to survive. Still, with the bottom of the Red League being what it is, there is a gambler's chance.

Did you Know... With the LPB folding in Hanai, the Breakers are now the major sports attraction of the city, for better or for worse. They should try to make the most out of that.

Transfer Impact: Lanar really believes in their players. Adding Bernard-Bigras means that there's no less than five Quebecois in the starting lineup, and it'll be fun.

You Might Be a Lanar Fan if... You are a Lanar resident who likes to be Sanar's rival, you like the black and red theme, you like players from Quebec and Shingoryeo, you like what's been a lost cause, or you like supporting Sandra Sybill.

Background: Located at the Western side of the Rainbow district, Lanar was founded before Sanar and Pelar, and is the oldest brother. Lanar is known for producing most of the nation's vehicles, as Viper Motors (previously Imhar Automotive) has a huge factory here. Being by the coast means a lot of foreign cars come through here as well. They're rabid about their Hawks, and used to underachieving as a team, but passionate nonetheless. The Red Hawks fell off the high horse, but after a season's absence, they're back.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Lanar fans take one aspect of their club more seriously than others - outperforming their rivals, Sanar. if one is in a league and the other isn't, it's an automatic forfeiture; whenever they're both present, the Derby is something else to behold. The acquisition of Sandra Sybill has proven to Lanar fans that the club is hell bent on making sure that things improve. They really really need to beat Sanar again.

Sybill as a club Manager, it turns out, is a bit of a tactician who tries to outsmart the other team. She's got the year of her players, and they play hard for her - even if it's been to the result of a lot of defeats by conceding goals in recent seasons.

Key Player: LW Ruby Vanderley

A speedy, knifing winger with all the creativity needed to generate goals, Vanderley has become synonymous with eye-opening goals, whether they be scored by her or by her teammates. With Vyntra, Colston, and Meyer, she doesn’t have to finish the chances by herself; however, she is still the player that makes this team tick.

Name to Watch: GK Wemagun Cyamou

He may be quiet and hardworking, but he is a Ko-orenite keeper of enough renown to play for Maethoru is a luxury that Lanar was willing to pay a pretty penny to obtain. If he turns out to be half as good as his billing, Lanar should be winning far more games in the years to come. His initial season wasn't the best, but he may settle in.

Expectation for the Season: The addition of Bernard-Bigras may be the shake-up they needed as the back four continues to settle in in front of Cyamou; they will continue to keep scoring as often as they do, though.

Panel's Prediction: Treading Water (13th-15th)

How much can you do, Wemagun Cyamou? This team can score in bunches. If they can cut down on the goals allowed to a manageable amount, they'll be back to being in the IFCF CC Playoff Berths in no time. It'll need to happen sooner than later with a season in the books, though...

Transfer Impact: Having faltered down a bit this season, Castillas made the choice to let go of Sangaré and Kerr, bringing in Noryu Wullyu at Right Midfielder and Fu Xiaoxi, one of the most traveled players of the Red League. Lukas De Koster steps in at striker for one Hong that just couldn't get things going. These were interesting moves, but probably good ones.

You Might Be a Lhor Fan if... You're a fan of Banijan investors in Chromatika, you like new money, you love Orcas, you are in the Coastal District, you are excited for a rebuilding project, you like the gold color palette, or you don't mind things being up and down from season to season.

Background: Located in the northeast corner of Chromatika, right by the ocean, Lhor was historically a whaling town, and now a place that is famous for its whalewatching tours. Otherwise, Lhor is famous for being the fashion Capital of Chromatika - although most of the modeling still happens in Chromia. A lot of young people live in Lhor because it's a small yet fashionable town. Sowe spent a lot of money to try to build this team into a contender, but his efforts were unsuccessful; now, Castillas has been given the long-term task of building this team from the ground up, to mixed success.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Orcas fans have been burned in the past - they just couldn't get going in the previous era. Castillas, though, has breathed new life into this club - and the fans are responding once again. As the predominant team in the Coastal District, they feel a sense of rivalry against the teams from the islands - namely Myana, Tihon, and Urrheddiao. It helps to be performing better than Pria City, too. They didn't have the best of seasons, but it was still in the top half of the table.

Castillas is a tactical genius through and through, and as he's becoming more used to the pieces he has, the players are adapting to his style as well. The days of the Orcas being an also-ran seem to be over. He needs to return to the IFCF CC in order to build upon his success, though.

Key Player: LW Líndís Végeirsdóttir

Five seasons, plenty of goals; lots of amazing plays. Líndís is a lightly built speed merchant skipping up and down the left wing. Too vulnerable on defense to be a wing back, but capable of delivering good crosses. She’s decided to stay with Lhor through thick and thin, and with so much being changed, her presence is everything for this team.

Name to Watch: CB Nediljko Brajković

Nediljko is someone who's played for contenders in a serious league (Kelssek), and lifted this team to a new level defensively. His communication with Flores, Zwick, and McLeod has been something else, and with the fact that his individual play has remained high, he's been worth all the money.

Expectation for the Season: Orcas fans just want to see that two season ago wasn't a fluke. That they can put aside the likes of Wirr Tsi, Anomalies, Crossroads, and Tihon and give Alnio and Urrheddiao a run for their money. That the last season was a speed bump, and the new players signed will be what they need.

Panel's Prediction: Midtable (9th-12th)

Unfortunately for this team, the others have caught up. It won't be as easy to take the spot as the best team not named Chromatik, Myana, Tihon, and Urrheddiao; they should be in the running, but changing too many players is a challenge for teams in the running.

Did you Know... Thankfully, all the hubbub in Myana Island hasn't impacted the orca watching tours. Every season, there's pictures of The Cove with a surfacing orca in the background, as is tradition.

Transfer Impact: Rodoslav Blaha and Rebecca Anne Wawanolett are two names that will absolutely grab anyone's attention. Sure, Olexander and Zup were pretty good, but Blaha is a Squornshelan of insane renown and Wawanolett is Wawanolett. The idea of Rebecca Anne playing alongside Hawk and Anusic is pretty crazy - and with the backfield being as good as it was last season, there is no reason why they shouldn't be title contenders once again.

You Might Be a Myana Fan if... You like being a historical powerhouse, you like contending for the title every season, you like the Islander Dome, you like a cannon going off very time the home team scores a goal, you are a fan of goalscoring, you like Mytanar talent, you like Laborious Hawk, or you like being by the ocean.

Background: Biggest port city in Chromatika. Second biggest city in Chromatika. Naval headquarters of Chromatika. Second biggest fishing town of Chromatika. Tourist attraction. What isn't Myana? Winners of the first three titles of the now-defunct League Chromatiks, they remain one of the best sides in the league, and tied with Tihon and now Chromatik as the only team to win five titles in the history of Chromatik domestic football. Islanders have one of the biggest fan bases as well, and their tradition of firing a cannon every time a goal is scored by the home team is one of the most unique in the league. They've gained a lot of goodwill by helping out the eastern half in the last two years, with Eyrods even playing at the University of Myana's stadium.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Traditionally, Myaners have had some interesting rivalries throughout the years. They are the biggest club on Myana Island by far, so they've had to look elsewhere to look for rivals. A healthy rivalry exists between the island teams - Myana and Tihon/Urrheddiao, with Eyrods and Tor being a bit behind. However, as of late, the focus of Myaners lies solely on Chromatik - they are the other traditional giant in the league, and every match between them matters for who will win the title.

Marco Hemmings has famously taken a bit longer than fans would've liked to get the machine of Myana going, but to his credit, the Tumbran has led them back to the level that he's needed. The Mytanar backbone of this team gives them an emotional edge that's lacking on other squads; Edith and Lavrentiy add a facet of the national team too. It's a team of highly touted professionals with one shared goal in mind - to continue winning titles and establish this team as one of the best to ever exist in the history of the Red League. Third place was hardly what they were looking for, but it was very close; with the new pieces added, they're likely to be in the mix again.

Key Player: ST Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov

Synonymous with Chromatik success at the world cup, Xuen-Zhukov’s emergence has been paramount to the system that Lev Repin has built. Possessing a unique blend of finishing power, killer speed, and mentality that does not befall a young player – all great Chromatik properties – Xuen-Zhukov returned home and has taken his place as one of the best strikers in the world - being highly instrumental in being a perennial title contender.

Name to Watch: LW Edith Fillar

When it was announced that Edith Fillar was going to be leaving Shamrock Cathair with the Audioslavian League losing a lot of money, two teams leapt in front of the rest - Chromatik and Myana. Fillar chose Myana, and by doing so, gave the Islanders an edge that helped them win the title from Chromatik. Fast, motivated, electric, and vocal, Edith is ridiculously talented and fully aware of it. No longer will Lavrentiy have to do it all - she'll be there next to him, step by step.

Expectation for the Season: Get back to winning the title. Blaha and Wawanolett's acquisition shows that they are willing to keep spending money, and the investments made in getting Edith and Mytnjak are starting to bear fruit. They should be the side to give Chromatik a run for the title.

Panel's Prediction: Title Contender (1st-4th)

It's going to be insane to see who wins between Chromatik, Myana, and Urrheddiao. This team has so many stars and so many more players of note, it's going to be a blast.

Did You Know... The Ecological Society of Chromatika has run a thorough test on the impact of the blanks being fired every time that Myana scores a goal at home, and determined that the decibel frequency being fired and the sound impact isn't enough to cause permanent damage. This sounds silly, but it matters on Myana Island.

Transfer Impact: Liang Bo wanted to keep most of her players, which makes sense; Gillinghurst steps in at Left Back, and that should be able to get them to midtable. It's still a relatively new team in the recent three seasons, and their potential hasn't been met yet.

You Might Be a Pria City Fan if... You like Georgine Attawa and what she stands for as both a businesswoman and a philanthropist, you like a historically Cinderella story, you like a team that doesn’t mind taking risks, you like monarch butterflies, you like the sick logo, or you think that what is brewing in Pria is sustainable and is willing to wait for the long haul.

Background: Located in the Coastal District, Pria City has been on the rise, and it’s taken a while for them to get here. This is the first team from Pria in the top league of Chromatik football since the days that Pria was in the First Division. A town known more for its fishing and shipbuilding than its football, the fact that the Monarchs are here at all is doing wonders for this town. The goal of supplanting Lhor as the best team in the district has been met, but they’d love to qualify for international football – something that they’ve still failed to do. Instead, they've settled themselves as a midtable team of some note.

Fan Support/Club Culture: PCity fans know that they are the second fiddle in their own District, and they view that fact as a necessary fact of life. They will never get to the level of Lhor while under current ownership, but they're okay with that - at least Attawa isn't a corporate shill, as they like to say. They still like getting back at the Orcas whenever they can, while establishing themselves as a fun destination within the Coastal District. The expansion of their beloved stadium will only stoke their ego.

Liang Bo's addition ushered in some change to a club that's needed it. Liang brings urgency and a counterattacking style. Counterattacking, when done incorrectly, can just lead to one disaster after another; this team has started to learn the new way to play.

Key Player: CM Graham Hughes

Initially brought in from Flames of the West to replace Jana Anusic, Hugheshas become a good leader for the team. With good spacing awareness, solid work ethic, and a lethal cross, Hughes may not be as direct of a shooter that Anusic was, but he does have the tools to get the ball to Brass and the wingers.

Name to Watch: ST Vissie Brass

Unusual in coming from a fairly affluent middle-class background, Brass has made few friends talking about how hard life has been having to work twice as hard to get half as far to supposedly overcome this perception. She does better when she lets her undoubted eye for goal do the talking, and Pria City will always need a goal-hungry striker to drive the ball home to the back of the opposing team's net. The fact that she's pushing thirty adds to the urgency.

Expectation for the Season: Continue to play Liang's way, and understand patience may be needed. Gillinghurst will help shore up the back line, but they will need many others to take next steps if they are to return back to the top half of the table.

Panel's Prediction: Midtable (9th-12th)

The new era continues in Pria City, now in Liang's second season there. If they can cut down on the goals given up against the flow of play, they should be able to take a step toward being that team that finishes in the top half of the table with regularity.

Did You Know... The expansion to Monarch Field was a long time coming, and it makes Pria City the city with the second biggest venue in the Coastal District. There is no way that Pria will ever grow to be bigger than Lhor, but having a secondary big location in the Coastal District is good for the entire District.

You Might Be a Qet NSC Fan if... You like small towns on Urrhed Island, you like foreign ownership whose homeland has disappeared, you appreciate a minnow trying to punch up, you like the blocky logo, or you like the antics Kim gets up to.

Background: Often forgotten among cities like Tihon, Urrheddiao, Tor, and even Staramara in Urrhed Island, Qet's claim to fame is two things - sharing the shortest name for a city in Chromatika with Tor and Wix, and more importantly, being the jewelry capital of Chromatika. Stemming from the days of the Chromatik Party when the Party put every single jewelry maker in the country in this city, Qet has maintained that moniker. Strict antitrust laws make it so that no one business can own more than 20% of the trade, and healthy competition has benefited everyone. Since being bought out by Bonmaison Construction, QNSC has slowly risen through the lower leagues, and make their appearance in the Red League for the second time, hoping to last a bit longer.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Like other small town clubs, Qet NSC has a small yet loyal fanbase. They're very happy the team did so well in the last season, and hope that it continues to help build them to be the next small team to have a stranglehold in the Red League.

Kim Myung-Sik is a hard-nosed disciplinarian who doesn't condone laziness nor people not doing their part. This has molded QNSC into a blueblood program with a chip on their shoulders. They don't care that everything says that they should still finish in the Relegation Zone - they love proving naysayers wrong, like they did last season.

Key Player: LM Ollie Ryard

He is no superstar - he won't appear on any shortlists to make the Anomalies, nor will he show up on the stats sheet very often - but if there is one man that embodies what it means to play on this squad, it's their Captain, Ollie Ryard. A deadly crosser of the ball with his left foot, with a relentless motor along with the ability to drop back and defend as needed, he does so much for this team across all levels of the field. He is also the emotional head of the team, making sure that they stay even-keeled and committed. A players'a player and a club hero.

Name to Watch: ST Kristófer Sigtýsson

Already on the Græntfjaller roster, Kristófer is an up and comer with the world ahead of him. With an immense reddish blonde beard and a burly build, but quite short by Græntfjaller standards, he's more of a poacher than an out-and-out lone striker. That's fine for a team like Qet NSC, where Lionel Abraham is more of a shadow striker anyway.

Expectation for the Season: Play tough, defensive football, stub as many toes as possible, and continue to stake their claim as a club that belongs in the Red League. Kristófer should get a lot of goals, Haugen and Maximos should stabilize the midfield, and Qet NSC's second season back in the Red League will be one to prove that they belong to stay.

Panel's Prediction: Treading Water (13th-15th)

Kim should continue to take this team to new heights. With Myung having shown that disciplinary style works with Tihon United, QNSC could be another in that camp.

Did You Know... This is the most number of teams that Urrhed Island has ever fielded in the Red League. Tihon and Urrheddiao have never missed a season, while Frenei Tor has done well as of late. Can Qet NSC continue to maintain this count?

Background: Located in the southern side of the Rainbow District, Sanar is the younger brother of Lanar. It is the headquarters of Death Templars Law Firm, the nation’s best at legal and professional services, and sponsor of the Orange League. In the League Chromatiks system, Lanar and Sanar were both often present for the Rainbow Derby; in recent years, both teams have been swapping spots and not being in the same League. The return of this Derby led to some iconic clashes, and they both survived. Can Carpenter's team continue to take down the Red Hawks?

Fan Support/Club Culture: The Bees - fans of the Yellow Jackets - have been an integral part of the Red League fanbase for a long time. They've become more and more vocal in the last few seasons to try to move up to midtable and beyond, and last season helped appease them quite a bit.

Helena Arstem has the presence of a regal Monarch who knows how to appear like royalty. Her managerial style is more of a tactician who uses the club leaders in the locker room to convey her wishes. Thankfully, she's had the backing of key players like Qiao He, Aleshai McCorkle, and recently, Sergey Bryzgalov. The Yellow Jackets are a tight-knit group.

Key Player: RW Jin Hayama

A crossing merchant at heart with a blast of speed, Hayama has been on the bench at Crossroads for a long time. This is his opportunity to make it in the Red League and establish himself as a starter. In the 3-4-2-1 run by Arstem, he doesn't have to be the one to score, but as he's the one to make sure the ball gets to the final third more often, he's starting to do his job.

Name to Watch: CM/AM Min Jiao

Is it wise to put this much stress on such a young player? Watching Naxians play, the answer seems to be yes. He's not much of a technician, as his distribution is a bit erratic and he gets the ball stuck between his feet a bit too often, but his unrelenting engine makes him a very tasty prospect. He has an incredibly professional attitude for a boy of his age, and his work rate is splendid, as is his pace and stamina. Jiao has averaged double digits in goals in the last four seasons, and with him being only twenty-two, his best days are ahead of him.

Expectation for the Season: Have Crittendan help out the back four, Hayama push the pace, and Hönigswald score. Continue to beat Lanar for good measure, and prove to be a perennial contender for top half of the table.

Panel's Prediction: Relegation Battle (16th-20th)

It may be a bit jarring to see Sanar ranked so low, but it's mostly because the teams above them have a bit of a higher ceiling. They're more likely than not to keep beating the odds.

Did You Know... Qiao He has been approached by many, many teams to take over as their keeper. She's turned them all down - including a fair bit of money - to remain at Sanar. It's working.

Transfer Impact: Charlotte Woodfull is a massive name to add at the right wing of this team, as the team allows Trici Lea and Valentin Ernst to build up chemistry in the backfield and Qi Chao Hark and Medberg Hansen to do well up front. Charing and Applegate are no strangers to rebuilding teams, and fourth place was great for the first season of the retooling.

You Might Be a Tihon Fan if... You like being one of the only five-time winners in Chromatik domestic football history (with all five being in a row!), you like a team to be owned by a company owned by a city, you like supporting a team that's always in the mix, you like entertaining football, you like Adabian talent, or you like a team that has a very recognizable Assistant Manager.

Background: Located on the northern half of Urrhed Island, Tihon is another fishing town, like Urrheddiao and Myana. It is also a tourist attraction due to the huge open beaches in the area. The Tidal Wave is the focal point of the city, as many Chromatik stadiums are. The Tide ruled the Chromatik League days, winning five titles in a row behind Brendo Schmidt and Catheline Alister. They’ve had a much harder time of things in the Red League, but still remain one of the marquee names in Chromatik football, and with Emma Arthur and Oberon M’bah-Pinho, they’re making their way back up to the top.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Tihon is the biggest club in Urrhed Island - even if Urrheddiao keep pushing them to be better and better. The Wave Riders are a realistic fanbase who understand that their team does not have the pedigree to contend with Chromatik and Myana time and time again. Placing behind Urrheddiao is a hit to their pride, but they're still quite good.

Hecate Charing and Christina Applegate have been with Tihon for over fifteen seasons, and they've really figured out how to work with each other. Charing takes care of day to day operations, while Applegate takes care of the players. There is plenty of youth and veterans on the team, and the Tide are more professional than most in the Red League. Sometimes, that rigidity can come back to bite them.

Key Player: LM Emma Arthur

Emma Arthur was the biggest addition of the offseason a while back, and the Adabian continues to pay off. Scoring goals in the teens and assisting in many more, she has established herself as the key playmaker in Tihon's deadly counterattacking scheme, alongside Lotte. She can both run past would-be defenders and also launch from deep, and she isn’t someone who gets tired as the game goes on, doing some of her best work in the closing minutes. Tihon paid a lot to get her, and she’s already paid for that in spades. Lotte helps a lot, but make no mistake – Arthur is the mastermind of this squad.

Name to Watch: ST Oberon M’bah-Pinho

Oberon M'bah-Pinho is a crack. Fast, aggressive advanced forward with outstanding ball control and underrated finishing abilities, Oberon has emerged as the brightest of an outstanding generation of forward talent that have come out of Quebec and Shingoryeo. Now, with the Quebeco-Azuean's ambitions sky-high, Tihon has been a good fit – they’re a part of the Red League, they’re in the mix, and there is a chance of winning hardware. Oberon and Medberg Hansen are a duo that are really starting to hit it off.

Expectation for the Season: Try to hold off Alnio and Crossroads from getting to the IFCL spots, and maybe take down rivals Urrheddiao. With the defensive backbone of United, fans will have to understand if they fall short there, but this team will not go down without a fight.

Panel's Prediction: Title Contender (1st-4th)

Woodfull adds another dimension to an already potent attack, and the different pairings will start to really hit it off. They will be near the top four once again.

Did You Know... The Tidal Wave has gone through a minor renovation recently. With the new lights and irrigation system, the stadium should offer more of a comprehensive experience to visitors and other teams' players alike.

Background: The second team of Tihon, T-United have been in the second level of Chromatik football for a long time, recently challenging the Red League. Myung Hye-Jung is not a very well-known name in Chromatik circles, but with silent determination and passion, Myung’s turned this team into a mainstay.

Fan Support/Club Culture: With their continued presence and success in the Red League, Tihon United keeps gaining fans both in Tihon, in other cities across Urrhed Island, and the Red League as a whole. The original Cyclone fans keep everything in perspective, but the newer fans are hopeful that this team can take the next step forward to start pushing for an IFCF CC berth. They were so close last season.

Myung Hye-Jung is a players' Manager and a motivator who knows how to get the best out of his players. This is a mostly youthful team with a youthful Manager, and the club is built on playing for each other. It's really starting to work, too.

Key Player: RB Nicole Fisher

She’s determined, she’s disciplined, and she’s the right fit for the Tihon United system – this has been a good match. Her youthfulness, endless energy, and candor has been a good fit. she's now the veteran of the backfield, and a key part of everything this team does.

Name to Watch: ST Mette Sondheim

After suffering through a dismal time with Lanar, Sondheim has provided many a needed goal for the Cyclones. She’s had healthy seasons in Chromatika, showing her capability of being the team’s primary scorer.

Expectation for the Season: They're so close to breaking into the IFCF spots - and with their players, it won't be that weird if they do. They'll be in the mix.

Panel's Prediction: Midtable (9th-12th)

They will always be punching above their weight to make it to the IFCF, but Myung is someone who can absolutely lead this team to the promised land.

Did You Know... Tihon having a great second team is a surprise - they are the only other city besides Chromia to have that second team. Myana is lagging a bit behind them and Urrheddiao recently lost Urrhed FC to the depths.

You Might Be an Urrheddiao Fan if... You like defensive football, you like bloodying the noses of all the so-called elite squads, you like the color purple, you don't mind ugly football, or you support Urrhed Island football but don't like Tihon.

Background: Located at the southernmost point of Urrhed Island, Urrheddiao is the seafood capital of Chromatika. It is here that a lot of the fish in the country is processed. The fans are quite loyal here, and they have fierce rivalries with Tihon, Myana, and in recent years, Urrhed FC. Initially, United owners wanted the stadium to be right by the water. However, safety concerns over the huge tidal waves in the winter forced the stadium to be about fifteen miles off the coast. The stadium can be transformed into a place where a lot of the city can take shelter in in the event of a tsunami or a typhoon, as it sits at the highest point on the island.

Fan Support/Club Culture: United fans have waited a long time for Ruo to get the team to this point. Winning the league ahead of the likes of Myana and Chromatik will definitely put a target on their backs, but Ruo and company have shown that they can hang with the best, and have actually started to spend the money to support.

Ruo Xiaolan is really starting to come through in recent seasons. As a defensive-first, counterattacking team, they are also regimented and play with a lot of composure. Success in the last season has only given them more and more confidence.

Key Player: LB Emi van Kalvenhaar

Van Kalvanhaar was brought in to shore up the defensive backfield, and she’s now had five seasons to play together with the same team, her brilliance is apparent. A huge talent who can move up and down with ease, the team is getting used to her unique set of talents. She cost a pretty penny; she's been highly instrumental in taking the team to new heights. Now paired with Todaka, who's proven to be a wonderful wonderkid, her leadership is truly starting to show.

Name to Watch: ST Billie Blue Hamisi

The best striker that's ever played for Urrheddiao, Hamisi turns in double digits of goals every season since joining. Hamisi is the right fit for the squad, being a workhorse that can run all day. Though playing out position, she’s proven to have a nose for the goal, and will continue to be needed going forward. Jin and Bouck just have one goal - to get the ball to Hamisi.

Expectation for the Season: This should be the best backfield in the Red League. Wróbel, Todaka, and van Kalvenhaar have a season playing together under their belt, and Kim is a proven quantity. It's true that Myana and Chromatik have retooled, but they have another thing coming if they think Urrheddiao will give up the crown without a fight.

Panel's Prediction: Title Contender (1st-4th)

United have a roster that could beat anybody, including the rest of the top four. Their defense is insane – and the play in transition is working. Hellyer is an insane signing to add another threat, and it's going to be hard to count them out of title contetion.

Did You Know... Urrheddiao become the first defensive team since Wirr Tsi to win the title. Ines Sheppard is the best keeper in the Red League, and as long as she's playing for them, they'll be in the mix.

You are a fan of a team that came into money, you like defensive minded football, you like Zhaxi Nanlei's managerial style, you like supporting a team not based in Chromia or Myana, you like a team that's under Quebecois ownership, you like watching Græntfjaller excellence, or you’re a fan of a team that somehow became good in this era and has been relevant in recent memory.

Background: Wirr Tsi, a city in the Capital District that is more towards the Mountain District, is where the Chromatik Air Force is now located, with over sixty percent of the population being military. Besides being an air force town, it's also where a lot of the armaments are manufactured. It's not a very exciting town, but an important one. Though the army has moved to Knetyohai, Wirr Tsi (pronounced Wurr Chee) kept the Air Force contingent. With Calania Motors having acquired the team, this team has become one of the best in the nation.

Fan Support/Club Culture: Shockers know that they've been spoiled in the past, and they're okay with the decline knowing that they were a team that hung with the biggest clubs despite not having as much money nor fame. They loved the fact that the team still made it to the IFCF CC - and if they can stay as the gatekeeper, the fans would love that. They needed to win the IFCF CC Playoff, but with the retooling that's been done in the defense, they'll remain relevant.

Zhaxi Nanlei is so good at getting the best out of his players. He is laid back yet has an intense aura about him. With so many veterans on this team, they're very grounded, very professional, and know what they're doing.

Key Player: CM Sara Kristoffersdóttir

The Græntfjaller is arguably the best midfielder in the Red League – even at beyond age thirty. Known for her drive and excellence, she is also fabled to be someone who’s wiling to do whatever it takes to reach her goals. She may have stepped back in scoring goals, but Sara continues to be at the forefront of every attack put on by the Shock, often being the player that can change the pace of the game on a single touch of the ball. She’s called it quits for the national team, but shows no signs of slowing down for the Shock.

Name to Watch: LW Arachne Loeher

Is she the best player on this team? Yes. She’s lightning-fast, knows how to make use of her presence, and, in her seventh season with the team, is starting to really realize her full potential. It also helps that she’s already made it for the Cormorants… Now with Youngblood on the other side of her, she'll be free to do even more damage on the left side. She doesn't need to be the only star on the team, and that's proving to be helpful for her mindset.

Expectation for the Season: Continue to play solid defense, counterattack, and let Ventura do whatever he needs - that will allow Loeher to do even more than before.

Panel's Prediction: IFCF Berth Fight (5th-8th)

This is where Wirr Tsi should be. They don't have the star power anymore to contend, but their veterans deserved to have a home. There is plenty to be changed in the seasons to come, but Zhaxi has done well with starting the rebuilding process early, and there will be a time coming rather soon where Wirr Tsi is back on the uptick.

Did You Know... Wirr Tsi is the original rags to riches story, although they didn't start from the second tier. The Red League is far better when they have Wirr Tsi at a high level, and having a Manager like Zhaxi has been such a boon.

You Might Be a Z’ai’ai Fan If… You are from the biggest city in the Mountain District, you grow tired of the mighty small towns of Felswyr and Umbar, you’re a fan of the black and gray uniform, you enjoy supporting a club that’s been through so much heartbreak, you don’t mind supporting a yo-yo club, you don’t mind supporting a team that moves very slowly, or you think that it’s a travesty that FK Shakhter Z’ai’ai is the best club in Z’ai’ai.

Background: Z'ai'ai is located in the southeast corner of Chromatika, and seated by Mt. Kùrn, the highest point in Chromatika, with elevation of 17,254 ft. It is a rare place where you can experience the mountain and the ocean at the same time within an hour's drive. Pronounced "Zee-aye-aye", it is also the cuisine capital of Chromatika as well as the headquarters of the logging industry. The Mountaineers are well-liked among the populace, though they lament that they are a yo-yo club. Recently, FK Shakhter Z’ai’ai has supplanted the Mountaineers as the best club in Z’ai’ai with some foreign investments, but this is a sleeping giant waiting for the right time to rise.

Fan Support/Club Culture:

Key Player: MC Jan Nuuk

A powerful box-to-box midfielder with a thunderous right boot, Nuuk will be the cog in the middle of the midfield to help the team transition from defense to offense. With Curry being more of an offensive midfielder, Nuuk's ability to press the pace will be paramount in getting the ball up to the striking pair.

Name to Watch: GK Emma Zimpel

Zimpel is a prospect with sublime ball skills and safe hands, hailing from Sylestone, one of the best countries in churning out defensive talent. Key to survival at the Red League level is a keeper that can handle the pressure, and the Mountaineers will be hoping that Zimpel will be the latest in capable keepers to come out of Sylestone.

Expectation for the Season: Put up a fight, try to survive for as long as possible, and prove to be the best team in the Mountain District in Felswyr's absence. It won't be easy, but it's doable - though FK Shakhter will prove to be a formidable opponent.

Panel’s Prediction: Relegation Battle (16th-20th)

They probably got promoted a year ahead of schedule. The acquisitions made are good ones, but it will be a major boon if they are to survive after this initial season.

Did You Know... Public image for Z'ai'ai is starting to really falter. Unless they can establish themselves as a mainstay in the Red League relatively soon, there may be a change of the brass and ownership.

Three Overachievers
Eyrods's defense has been as good as advertised, if not a bit better. Makar Popov has conceded just one goal so far, while Benedetti keeps on scoring just enough goals to get the Jungle Cats to a ridiculous start in their home away from home. Despite having to play in Myana due to the rebuilding of Eyrods, the Cats continue to show that there is more to the Eyrodii spirit than what meets the eye. Can they keep it up, though? Probably not...

In his second season at the helm, Liang Bo has the Monarchs playing some very good ball early. Sure, the goal differential isn't the greatest, but wins over Urrheddiao and Wirr Tsi shows their potential. They aren't expected to finish anywhere higher than midtable, but with Brass and company, maybe they can dream to be a little higher.

Lanar has only lost one game so far - to FK Shakhter Z'ai'ai. Scoring eleven goals in six games is a portent of their firepower with the Quebecois contingent, while the defense just tries to survive. They've been a fun watch, too.

Three Underachievers:
Urrheddiao have had a rough go of things in the early going, but the losses are to Pria City, Anomalies, and Alnio. Sheppard has been dealing with a lingering hamstring issue, and it's really shown. That won't continue for long, though, considering the quality of their players on the roster.

Tihon conceding eleven goals in the early going to fall to 1-3-2 is rather dismal, as Warrington has just been besieged. They'll need to step up in the neutral game to not end up with as many draws, and hopefully tidy up the defense.

Tihon United have had the worst start in Myung's stint as Manager. Cafazzo and the defense has just been ran over time and time again, but it's the fact that they lost to so many of the weaker teams that will likely be at the bottom of the table. Is a rough season ahead of them?

Plenty of upsets in this round, as Kynxe outlasts Urrheddiao at home, highlighted by Elana Marakova getting the ball into the back of the net against Sheppard as Urrheddiao simply couldn't find the back of the net; Z'ai'ai throttled Frenei Tor, Lhor's Líndís scored a hat trick as Mangjeol stood up against the Chromatik onslaught, and Wilson Morton scored against Tihon in injury time to help Omnio City bridge the gap. Naval FC's Pauncey Lost scored a brace in the second half to beat the Crusaders, and Miners also edged Crix. The split is as follows: Nine Red League teams, three Orange League teams, four Yellow League teams as the Yellow League excels.

Best record of the stretch goes to Urrheddiao, who score thirteen and concede two to go 5-0-1, their only draw being a scoreless draw against Manjeol and Lhor. Jin and Hamisi have picked up their game, while Sheppard has recovered fully from her injury; though United are in fourth place for now, they will be relevant down the stretch. Ahead of them are the usual suspects - a Myana team leading the league in scoring after adding Rebecca Anne Wawanolett, as expected; an Anomalies squad getting solid minutes from Susie Knight and Anja Zoric; and a Chromatik squad that's left a bit reeling after splitting their last six matches, having dropped games against Tihon, Myana, and Qet NSC in a row before roaring back, accentuated by a 6-2 win over Anchors FC. Dénes Robineau has been as good as advertised - scoring fifteen goals so far, including four against those Anchors.

Alnio has really bounced back from the early going, picking up three wins as Hammersley and Cunningham continue to perform admirably to keep pace; Lhor's Líndís is on a tear as the Orcas are in sixth, while the Crossroads Crusaders, with new Striker Finn Freeling, is starting to truly click. Tihon has truly bounced back, too, as Warrington's doing better while Oberon is going off, while Hanai Breakers take advantage of the soft spot of their schedule to get back to eleventh. Pria City and FK Shakhter Z'ai'ai keep pace.

Eyrods has completely fallen - as expected, along with Lanar, as both teams fail to win a single match. Eyrods's problem is that Popov can't do everything by himself, while Lanar keeps running into the same problem, losing in transition. Frenei Tor and Qet NSC edge past some opponents to gain some points back, while Wirr Tsi falter some more, being all the way down in sixteenth. Zhanxi has earned the time that he's asking for, but it's going to be interesting to see if he can keep it up.

Sanar remains unlucky on set pieces, Tihon United bounce back a bit to climb out of the basement, and it looks like there is almost no hope for Anchors FC and hapless Z'ai'ai, who has yet to win a single game this season.

Five Storylines at the Halfway Point of the Season

1. The Big Three

As expected, it's the big three of Chromatik, Myana, and Urrheddiao atop the table - with Urrheddiao continuing to prove that last season wasn't just a fluke. The teams have been doing it in different ways. Urrheddiao has the best keeper in the league in Ines Sheppard, and the reinforcements that they've made - adding Kim to the backfield of van Kalvenhaar and Todaka - have helped even more. Sheppard leads the league with twelve clean sheets and ten goals conceded, and Hamisi continues to be that player that lifts this team to a new level, scoring all the goals that they needed in a timely manner. Hellyer has also been solid, Kamarandan is the rock, and United just might pull off the repeat.

As for Myana, the three losses in their last seven matches have put a halt to their stellar start. Losing to Alnio, Anomalies, and Pria CIty - Pria City being the worst of them - have shown the cracks in their armor. The midfield is the biggest strength of this squad - to have Laborious Hawk, Jana Anusic, Rebecca Anne Wawanolett, and Edith Fillar on the same team is ridiculous. Blaha has been as good as advertised, but Myana can go overboard in pressing sometimes and have a hard time recovering in transition. For their sake, hopefully the three losses won't be a trend.

Chromatik's play can be expressed by one person - Dénes Robineau. The Farf has been as good as expected, and has scored more than fifty percent of the goals by the Capitalizt - as Bevilacqua, Singh, Crossley, and company continue to feed him the ball. Strand continues to develop, Coulibaly and Nodis are growing into being one of the best backfields in the league, and this squad remains as dangerous as ever.

One of these teams will win the league - it's just a matter of whom.

2. Wirr Tsi's Struggles

Another season, another instance of Wirr Tsi limping to halfway. Kathie Begley continues to turn in quality start after quality start, though only five clean sheets in nineteen is a bit off her pace. The only reason Nanlei doesn't get as much heat is because of his track record. If they don't turn it around, though, things will have to change at a bigger level.

Youngblood, Ventura, and Loeher remain the key. Eighteen scored is not enough at this level, and they know that. Sara and Campumanes are there to be the key cogs in the midfield, but if a team doesn't score goals, a team cannot win. Sometimes, it's just that simple.

And there is no way Wirr Tsi remains this low for too long, right?

3. Hapless Z'ai'ai

How bad has Z'ai'ai been in the first half of the season? 0-5-14 with eighteen scored and forty-three conceded says enough. No wins, only five draws, and conceding more than twice the number of goals scored is the perfect recipe for a disaster. What is the cause? You can't really blame Emma Zimpel - even the best Sylestonean wouldn't be able to contend with the full might of the offenses of the Red League with the help that she is getting. Though Hanna Strøm has shown flashes of brilliance, she is still very young, and the midfield has really struggled to put up with other midfields in the league.

Twelve points behind eighteenth, Z'ai'ai will really have to turn things around if they are to make a point of surviving. Otherwise, it's back to the yo-yo life for them.

4. Eyrods Falls, Tihon United Rises

Remember when Eyrods was 4-2-0, and Tihon United 0-1-5? Eyrods has gone 1-4-8 since then, and Tihon United 6-3-4 since then.

For the Eyrodii, it's the fact that Popov can't just save them every single game. Benedetti and the others have to step up, or they'll be left in the lurch. Sure, they're supposed to be mostly midtable anyway, but it's still a bit disappointing to see them fall so much after such a great start.

As for Tihon United, Sondheim and Lamorak have come alive in the last thirteen matches. Myung has gotten his troops back on track, and they'll get back to midtable.

5. Breakers on a New Wave

This may be the best the Breakers have looked in a long while. Sure, twelfth isn't the best on the table, but for a freshly promoted side, they'll take it. Herbie Chandelique has been the key, and they're working off the Auprussian without issue. Can they keep it up, though?

Nobody is talking about it - mostly because Zhanxi Nanlei is a legend - but if he doesn't turn things around fast in Wirr Tsi, the Shock will suffer their worst season in recent memory. Thirteen losses in twenty-five is not what the Shock are usually like - and nobody will be surprised if they do turn it around. Twenty-three goals scored in six matches sees Chromatik atop the league - Dénes Robineau scoring twelve of those goals as the Farf striker is really taking over. Add in a Urrheddiao team that's conceded only three goals since the midseason break - alongside Myana, whose only loss is to Tihon. Alnio uses an undefeated stretch of going 4-2-0 - helped alongside by Shannon Cunningham's striking power.

Oberon M'bah-Pinho and Tihon flex their muscles, accentuated by a 5-2 win over Myana, while Gunnar Skeggestad has the Crusaders within striking distance of fourth, the midfield trully doing their jobs. Eyrods and Lanar utilize the soft parts of their schedule to get back up to midtable, while at the bottom, Frenei Tor struggles with a new Manager, Sanar may be headed back down, and Z'ai'ai do manage to get their first win, but sit firmly in last place.

Will Frenei Tor, Tihon United and Wirr Tsi bounce back? Will Qet NSC, Eyrods, and Lanar make good use of their current position?

The marquee matchup of the evening, Dénes Robineau scores the opener, just for Oberon M'bah-Pinho to equalize three minutes before the game ends, leaving Chromatik atop the table and Tihon in fifth place.

Performance of the Day: Crossroads CM/AM Kayla Kassaya

The Adabian continues to be a creative player for the Crusaders, assisting in two goals and scoring a third in a dominant win over Z'ai'ai that sees the Crusaders in sixth.

Matchday 27

Result of the Day: Myana 0-1 Chromatik

Stars are out in force at the Islander Dome as Myana and Chromatik lock heads. The Islanders have twice as many shots on goal, but Medusa Strand stands strong, and Stephen Kerr of all people is able to head in the late cross on a Þorgríma Vigdis Ástþórsdóttir delivery to give the Capitalizt a key win.

Performance of the Day: Lhor RW Fu Xiaoxi

It takes a wonder goal to get past Ines Sheppard - and the Yueren provided just that, getting past Emi van Kalvenhaar and facing Sheppard head-on, slotting the ball neatly past a stop-and-turn. Amazing finish.

Matchday 28

Result of the Day: Anchors FC 2-1 Tihon

The Anchors are trying to survive - and pulling off some of these upsets will definitely help with that. Anna-Lena Knacke scores in the first sixteen minutes, Jayme de Bobadilla stops eight of nine shots in goal, and Lehel Vas - the Pasargan of twenty years of age - scores the game winner on an Ailis Ferguson delivery, getting past Trici Lea and Valentin Ernst. What a win for the underdogs.

Performance of the Day: Frenei Tor Left Midfielder Tanya Zhukova

A masterful assist and a glorious free kick results in Frenei scoring one of their better wins of the season - though they will need a little more to make safety happen.

Matchday 29

Result of the Day: Sanar 1-1 Urrheddiao

This result, coupled with Myana's win over Anchors, sees United falter to third place; Min Jiao is unquestionably the best player on the pitch, making use of the space provided by Urrheddiao and pressing as needed.

Performance of the Day: Pria City Striker Visse Brass

The Monarchs are going to survive, aren't they? Brass's hat trick would be a huge reason whey they won this one, pacing three past, leaving Frenei in shambles.

Result of the Day: Urrheddiao 0-1 Tihon

Just like that, United are on a bit of a downturn. Rasmus Medberg Hansen's header is the trick - Charlotte Woodfull's cross is a heavenly piece of work. The Tide find themselves firmly in the battle for the top six.

Performance of the Day: Tihon United Center Midfielder Anya Marakakis

Marakakis has developed into a dual-threat, being a defensively minded player who can also push the pace - and the Cyclones need her to continue to do what she does best.

Result of the Day: Myana 0-3 Urrheddiao

And, just like that, Urrheddiao show that they are still in the mix. That is what Jen Ta Jin and Thomas Hellyer are supposed to do - push the ball to Hamisi and help on the return. Sheppard looks like the best keeper in the league, and they take down the title-contending Islanders.

Performance of the Day: Lanar Left Winger Ruby Vanderley

Three shots, three goals. Lethal from all ranges. The Quebecois perform well, and Rudy is the best of them.

Rainbow League System Season Eighteen Matchdays 32-37

Matchday 32

“Don’t count us out just yet,” states Kathie Begley from the friendly confines of The Shock after she puts on a masterful performance to shut out the Islanders. Myana controlled possession, Myana had fifteen shots, Myana made life miserable for the Wirr Tsi Midfield, but it’s Begley and Loeher that combine to give the Shock a win that puts them back into the race for that IFCF CC Playoff Berth. Get there, and see if you can win that – Nanlei has built such a reputation that as long as Wirr Tsi make it into the IFCF CC, nobody will bat an eye if he remains.

Disaster for Chromatik atop the table as they run into Eyrods and their ridiculously stable play. Popov is brilliant, Kim-Michel’s header just sneaks by Strand, and Chromatik suffer a shock defeat. Urrheddiao pounces on the opportunity to close the gap to just one, peppering Qet NSC with shots from outside the box, all four of their goals being from range. Fantastic.

Alnio never loses control over Sanar, Cunningham with the brace, as the Brewers remain in fourth; Anomalies’s handling of Tihon – Leandra Berenguer’s game winner being a beauty – helps them keep apace a Crusaders squad that’s maintained their form; Lhor’s faltering at Pria City keeps them within reaching distance of the aforementioned Eyrods, Wirr Tsi, and a Lanar team that barely escape the Anchors; Tihon United seem destined to just focus on the Violet Cup after suffering an upset at the hands of Frenei Tor – Moussenguet putting on a master clinic – while FK Shakhter prove to be the best side in the Mountain District, taking down Z’ai’ai with a brace from Bogolyubsky. Z’ai’ai are confirmed to be relegated.

Matchday 33

Dubbed the match of the week for a reason, Chromatik hosts Urrheddiao in a match at the top of the table; it’s a measured, physical affair, neither side wanting to take risks that will totally give it away; Quarto Bevilacqua scores on a Dénes Robineau cross just past the quarter hour mark to open the scoring – Chromatik are now using him as a decoy sometimes – and it looks like the Capitalizt will get away with the win, just for Jen Ta Jin – the Naixi sniper – to equalize late in the game on a dagger cross from Kamarandan. The result is just a point apiece, with so much to be decided in the last five matches.

Myana stumble once again – this time at home – as Susie Knight puts on a clinic with a brace and an assist; it allows Alnio to sneak into possibly contending for the top three, surviving a late scare from Tihon to get away with a point at The Tidal Walve. Crossroads keeps pace with Zhang’s hat trick, the gap between them and Tihon at six points now.

Qet NSC puts a break in Wirr Tsi’s resurgence as the Shock are manhandled in the midfield, a common trend in their losses, while United handle the Breakers, Frenei keeps toying with safety by taking down a Lhor team that could’ve covered some ground, and the Eyrods-Lanar match ends in a frustrating result for both squads, Lexi Robertson being Eyrods’s savior in the last ten minutes. Sanar takes a step toward doing the impossible by escaping in their match against the Mountaineers, but with the gap being thirteen points with five matches to go, they’ll likely join Z’ai’ai in the ranks of the eliminated. The final result is Pria City’s blanking of FK Shakhter – can they make a late run?

Matchday 34

Just like that, Urrheddiao are atop the table. It was a routine win for them at the United Center, never really losing control against the Red Hawks, controlling the ball for 81% of the time, while Wirr Tsi utterly demolish the Capitalizt at The Shock, Sara Kristoffersdóttir showing her class with a goal and two assists. With Myana getting a hat trick from Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov to beat Alnio, things are close atop the table once more.

That loss by Alnio also lets both Anomalies and Crossroads into the conversation for fourth place. AFC choke out Qet NSC to submission, while the Crusaders win their third in a row – Swanson is quietly having a monster season while the incorporation of Freeling has been seamless. Tihon handle Z’ai’ai to remain in seventh – not within danger of losing out on the IFCF CC Playoff berth at least – while Lhor bounce back to stay atop the pack that’s chasing.

Frenei Tor’s blanking of FK Shakhter closes the gap between those two sides, while Pria City confirms Sanar’s relegation while buying them some more room. Anchors get a key win in their bid to stay in the Red League, Joren De Valck’s brace leading them the way – only five points separate Anchors from fifteenth Place FK Shakhter.

Matchday 35

Wirr Tsi’s rocky play continues, getting trounced by the Quebecois contingent of Lanar trying to stay in the IFCF CC Playoff Berth spots; at least United also have a rough spell away at Anchors, the hosts trying to stay within the Promotion/Relegation Berth spots, Lehal Vas having a career game. Chromatik’s victory in the Chromia Derby allows them to tie up Urrheddiao, behind just by Goal Differential and stopping Anomalies in their tracks; Crossroads continues to chug along, up to fourth now. Myana? Barely got over Z’ai’ai.

Alnio’s game against Qet NSC sees nine goals scored – and it’s Jake McGhee from the bench scoring a brace after Cunningham goes down with a sore calf that lifts them to their victory. Tihon seems content to just stay where they are – while Frenei wins yet again, back up to fifteenth place. The Breakers’ beating of FK Shakhter sees the two teams tied at sixteenth, and Tihon United tying Lhor doesn’t really help either team, United in danger of both contending for the Violet Cup title and getting relegated at the same time, while Lhor miss out on a chance to gain ground on Tihon.

Matchday 36

Can someone remind the top of the table that there is everything to play for? Makar Popov holds Urrheddiao in check, while Alnio turn in one of their best performances of the year to trip Chromatik; this allows Myana’s five-goal outburst to put them back into the title mix; chased very closely by a Crusaders team that’s won five in a row (with six goals scored of all things). Anomalies chase them, along with the Brewers.

Tihon’s tie with Frenei Tor confirms that they will be the gatekeeper in seventh place, confirmed into the IFCF CC Playoff Berth; the Shock throttle Anchors to put them into a corner. Z’ai’ai and Qet NSC have a ten-goal banger, and the Breakers blank Sanar to have a chance at survival. Tihon United’s win all but secures their safety, allowing them to focus on the Violet Cup.

Matchday 37

Absolute chaos at the Capitalizt Dome as Z’ai’ai fields a team full of bench players, trying to test everyone out. They fight Chromatik to a four-four draw, Eulalie Lamar scoring two minutes after Robineau. Coupled with Myana getting a draw at home against Frenei, this allows Urrheddiao to move into pole position, blanking a Crossroads team that had been red-hot.

Crossroads’s faltering allows Anomalies to move to fourth – Anja Zoric scoring the game-winner – while Alnio loses a key chance to catch up, getting five scored on them from Lanar. Wirr Tsi? Blanked by Eyrods, but still in contention to keep that top nine spot to get to the IFCF CC Playoff Berth.

As for the bottom of the table, FK Shakhter’s win over Lhor keeps them within reach of safety, while the bottom three are locked in; the Breakers draw their rivalry match at the Tidal Wave to stay even with Frenei Tor. Pria City’s win over Qet NSC gives both teams the chance to potentially trip up Wirr Tsi on the final matchday.

Red League Season 18 Matchday 38, Violet Cup Final, Red League/Orange League Promotion/Relegation Playoffs, IFCF CC Berth Playoffs

PROMOTION/RELEGATION PLAYOFF BERTH DECIDER

Frenei Tor completes a 5-2-0 run to end the season to lock up their survival in the Red League, Amina Salihamidzic Beckie scoring her twentieth goal of the season to give Pula Korischet another season in the Red League. It's till not a bad season for Qet NSC, whose initial goal was to be around midtable; midtable they will finish, just slightly below the best teams of the league while establishing themselves as a perennial Red League club.

IFCF CC BERTH DECIDER

With the Violet Cup Final being Eyrods against Tihon United, only teams finishing sixth through ninth will qualify for the IFCF CC Berth Playoff; this means that Tihon United still has a chance to qualify organically should Wirr Tsi lose, Lanar needs to win to keep their spot, and Lhor has an outside chance as well. For the Orcas, this draw against an already relegated Yellow Jackets team is the epitome of the disappointment - they'll finish with exactly as many wins as losses, just barely not good enough in so many aspects. To allow Edgar Hönigswald to tie the game right before the end is heartbreaking, and although Fu Xiaoxi has had a breakout season, it's not enough for the Orcas. Tihon United cannot handle the pressure put upon them by Tihon in the Tihon Derby, getting shut out at home; they'll focus on the Violet Cup Final. As for Lanar, a five-goal affair with Vanderley and Meyer taking over gives the Red Hawks a guaranteed spot in the IFCF CC Berth Playoff, where they'll have their shot.

IFCL DECIDER

Anomalies leading Crossroads by Goal Differential, with Alnio lurking. Eyrods, with nothing to play for, fielded a subbed-out squad ahead of the Violet Cup Final; the Crusaders pommel FK Shakhter from the very beginning, while Alnio has a hard time against the Anchors. It's the visitors that score first in Alnio, while Crossroads leads 2-0 at halftime - meaning that for one moment, they are actually ahead of Anomalies. However, AFC's pressure is too much for even someone like Popov, as AFC scores two in the final sixteen minutes. Crossroads get to 3-0 - only one goal to make up before we get to the second tiebreaker, which is Head-to-Head Results, which they would win by Goal Differential - but a last-gasp effort to send numbers forward backfires, leading the Crusaders to concede a late goal. Anomalies qualify for the IFCL by virtue of Goal Differential despite the late run by the Crusaders. Crossroads was 9-3-7 at the halfway point, while Anomalies were 9-7-3; since then, the Crusaders went 13-2-4, while Anomalies went 12-1-6. Crossroads almost pulled it off. As for Alnio, they'll have to prepare for the IFCF CC Berth Playoffs after suffering a shock loss to the Anchors, Lehel Vas's game-winner being a dagger.

TITLE DECIDER

Urrheddiao 75, +30. Myana 72, +39. Chromatik 72, +25. Urrheddiao having to travel to Wirr Tsi when the Shock need a win to keep that prayer of a chance at the IFCF CC alive. Myana traveling to Hanai to face a Brakers team trying to catch Frenei Tor. Chromatik traveling to Pria, whose Monarchs don't really have anything to play for. Though the pundits stated that Urrheddiao should be the heavy favorites, the fact that the Breakers play an annoyingly defensive game, that Wirr Tsi is a side that can trip up anyone, and the fact that every game is played at once meant that everything was really up in the air for this final matchday of the Red League.

Vissie Brass scores the first goal of the game in Pria City, but as it's against the run of play, all it seems to do is just piss off the Capitalizt. They come in waves, and Chupov is already being peppered with shots. Moussenguet's goal is registered in Tor, sending a shiver down the Breakers' fans' spine - would their team play hard even if the chance for safety went out the window? James Masterson, Hanai's Manager, tells his players to keep playing their way - if they don't win, they don't have a chance, anyway. Wirr Tsi and Urrheddiao have committed seven fouls in the first twenty minutes as the game has gotten really ugly. The Shock don't want United to become the newest defensive team to win back-to-back titles, and it shows.

It's been an interesting transition for Sophie Singh this season as Robineau has come in, but the Euran is still so lethal from range. Her knifing shot ties up the game at Monarch Field, and the promise of so much more is very much apparent. Þorgríma Vigdis follows it up ten minutes later from range, and it's starting to become obvious that Chromatik will most likely do its part - especially as Pria City starts to get more and more discouraged. All eyes turn to Wirr Tsi, with a sideways glance at Hanai, where Myana's shots keep getting stopped by a nineteen year old Mytanar, Fadipasic already with six shots blocked in the first half. Twelve clean sheets already this season for the young phenom signed on a free, and as he palms away a shot from Xuen-Zhukov and the rebound from Laborious Hawk, Myana fans start to worry just a bit.

The first half ends, Pria City 1-2 Chromatik, Hanai Breakers 0-0 Myana, and Wirr Tsi 0-0 Urrheddiao. United are winning at the moment by a point, while Chromatik have cut the Goal Differential by one. Everything hangs in the balance - whether the Breakers will hold, and whether Wirr Tsi can take down Urrheddiao.

It's Ollie Ryard's goal for Qet NSC in the fifty-first that is the first movement in the second half, revitalizing the Breakers' defense to start performing even harder. They've only had three shots on goal themselves, but if they don't let Myana score, they'll get that one shot they need, right? Then, five minutes later, Neil Youngblood's header off of a Sara Kristoffersdóttir masterclass breaks the tie in Urrheddiao, and things start getting really interesting. Urrheddiao still lead with 75 and +29 Goal Differential, with Chromatik at 75 and +26. Myana sit two points behind thanks to the draw that's being held, though they'd beat the other two soundly in Goal Differential, being at +39.

United need at least a draw - and Ruo Xiaolan is bold enough to go for it, making an offensive substitution; this only serves to allow Campumanes to find Youngblood and Loeher even easier on the counter, and the crowd at the Shock can see that momentum has shifted. Chromatik fans taking up over half the stadium in Pria start checking the score, wondering just why their team hasn't scored more goals against a depleted Pria team with no motivation.

Then, the craziest half hour in Chromatik football history happens.

On the sixty-second, Chímo Ventura buries the rebound on a midrange shot by Sara Kristoffersdóttir, beating Ines Sheppard to the left post. Urrheddiao's Goal Differential falls to +28. The Breakers start possessing the ball more as Myana simply cannot break their back four. In Pria, Dénes Robineau's shot is just a bit high, hitting the crossbar.

Sophie Singh's cross finds Dénes Robineau in the seventy-first, and the highly touted striker buries it past Chupov, moving Chromatik's Goal Differential to +27. People start checking the Head to Head Results between Chromatik and Urrheddiao, as it serves as the second tiebreaker. Urrheddiao won the first tie 1-0, and they tied in the second, meaning that for the Capitlaizt to pull this off, they'll have to finish above Urrheddiao in Goal Differential. As the mathematically challenged are just figuring that out, Robineau scores his second goal of the game, a screamer from just outside the box, leaving Chupov dumbfounded. Pandemonium erupts amongst the Chromatik fans, as they've just now tied Urrheddiao in Goal Differential.

In Hanai, Nezir Fadilpasic stops his fourteenth shot of the game as the Breakers hope for a late score, coupled with Qet NSC somehow beating Frenei Tor.

News comes of Anomalies's doubling their lead over Eyrods, all but securing their IFCL Berth. Shortly after, Dénes Robineau completes his hat trick - this time running through five defenders before neatly slotting the ball home for his league-leading thirtieth goal of the year. Chromatik are atop the table by a single goal - and they aren't slowing down. Wirr Tsi fans seeing the live score updates in the stadium cheer, as the United players look absolutely stressed out.

In Hanai, Nezir Fadilpasic stops his sixteenth shot of the game.

United are no longer concerned about winning the game. They need a goal, and they need it yesterday. Wirr Tsi's back four - París, Klaric, Lusambai and Hui - work in tandem with Wan and Begley to take care of the threats calmly, and the counterattack starts to hit even more as the clock hits the eighty-fifth minute. Time is running out.

In Hanai, Nezir Fadilpasic stops his nineteenth shot of the game. Myana players look absolutely flabbergasted, while the Breakers fans cheer for Qet NSC to do something.

In the eighty-eighth minute, Frenei Tor scores the backbreaker that secures their safety and puts the Breakers into the Promotion/Relegation Playoff. Fadilpasic and the Breakers decide that they've done too much to just give up now. United start playing even more recklessly, while Chromatik seem content to try to just hold onto their four-goal lead.

One minute into injury time, Arachne Loeher is brought down by Emi van Kalvenhaar just outside the box - earning the Ko-orenite a yellow, and the Shock a chance to put it all away. Sara Kristoffersdóttir - World Cup Champion, club legend, and one of the best midfielders to ever grace the Red League - buries it in a spot that Ines Sheppard had no chance to reach, and Urrheddiao starts facing the reality that they've really blown the league title on the final day. Chromatik fans in Pria start to celebrate cautiously.

Two minutes later, Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov makes what feels like his thirtieth run at goal, fully aware of the fact that if they score, they win the title and not Chromatik. With Mo Liwei out of position, Robert Bissonnette has to try to catch up - and the Right Back makes a bit of a hard tackle on Xuen-Zhukov in a questionable area. The referee points at the spot, and the entire stadium falls dead silent, save the fans arguing that it wasn't inside the box. Marco Hemmings doesn't hesitate. With Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov on a sore ankle and Laborious Hawk nursing a sore toe on his kicking foot, the Tumbran Manager decides that it will be Edith Fillar to take the penalty. One chance to determine if Myana will win its seventh or if Chromatik will join Myana as the only teams with six.

The whistle blows, and Fillar's kick is low, to the right, and hard. Nezir Fadilpasic, the Mytanar youngster who'd made twenty-three saves to this point - dives the correct direction, and the ball hits him smack-on in the mouth. He holds onto the rebound, and as he rises up, blood streaming from a burst lip from the force of the kick, he raises a fist in the air in triumph, the crowd joining him, with the Chromatik faithful in Pria doing the same.

A final minute of injury time concludes, and it's over.

Somehow, with Wirr Tsi taking a time machine to play like the teams of yesterday, with Dénes Robineau scoring a hat trick in a span of twelve minutes, and with a youngster completing his thirteenth clean sheet of the year, Chromatik are able to make up a three-point, five-goal differential and win the Red League - for the sixth time, tying Myana. What an end to the season.

Nezir Fadilpasic is offered a seat of honor in the victory parade that happens the week after. He declines, of course, but the gesture is appreciated. The finish of the eighteenth season of the Red League will be remembered in Chromatik history.

Eyrods does what it does best - suffocate the life out of the opposition with a strong defense, Makar Popov applying his craft, and control the ball - and make their one good chance count - a Christine Yaroslav cross to Vesper Benedetti that the Elmyian buries into the back of the net, yielding Eyrods their first Violet Cup title in a season where they played home games at the University of Myana stadium. The story of how this team representing the eastern half of Myana Island were able to win this title will be told for months to come.

It turns out that beating an on-form Wirr Tsi is very difficult, even if you're a team like Alnio that was in the running for the IFCL for so long. Sara Kristoffersdóttir continues to play like a woman possessed, contributing to both goals as the Shock move on to the final once again. As for Tihon, controlling the midfield against Lanar worked as they never were truly tested, Emma Arthur pacing them.

Death, taxes, Wirr Tsi somehow making the IFCF CC. Despite that horrid start, despite finishing the season 16-6-16, despite needing that 3-0 win on the final matchday to finish with a positive Goal Differential, Kathie Begley shines in contributing eleven saves on the match while Sara Kristoffersdóttir scores a beauty on a free kick late in extra time to propel Wirr Tsi to another IFCF CC berth. Change will have to be on the horizon for the Shock to not have to resort to such dramatics at the end of every season, but considering the fact that they were sixteenth in the league with a 6-3-10 record halfway through the season, they'll take the turnaround.
