Vangaziland Royals vs. Andromeda Eagles
Coliseo Mayor de Valladares
Metropolis, Valladares

The Game ended about 10 minutes ago. The IBA Commissioner and the Head of the Valladar Basketball League stand on the court with the Andromeda Eagles at Center Court. Coach Al Gooden is presented with the Henry West Trophy. He hoists the hardware over his head.

Only two other countries have won three IBC Titles. Sarzonia won four titles during the first nine IBC Tournaments. Saintland won three straight titles. The Andromeda Islands has never won successive titles. They now hold the record for most IBC Tournaments between titles.

Gooden also coached the team that won IBC XII. Assistant Coach Norm Peterson also participated in IBC XII. He made the controversial shot that won IBC XII over Cassadaigua.

“I would like to thank the tournament organizers for making sure things ran smoothly. Aside from Andromedans, we couldn’t have played in front of better basketball fans. I would also like to thank Coach Tomasson and the Vangaziland Royals. A lucky bounce here and a different shot there, and we would be witnessing their first Championship on Saturday.”

The Andromeda Islands echoes the sentiments of Coach Gooden & looks forward to seeing who succeeds them in IBC XX. (Although Andromeda will participate, the writer behind the Andromeda Islands has no interest in a repeat for the Eagles.)

Happy Holidays to You and Yours!
