KRYTENIAN IC INFORMATION

Krytenia is a liberal and welcoming nation, with Anglo and Hispanic influences. The central cities, Emberton and Avidia, both contain large Hispanophonic communities, whilst the south of the country is almost entirely English-speaking. English is the only national language, but plenty of French and Spanish speakers abound.

If visiting Emberton, you're likely to find at least a few of your countrymen, the city being a melting-pot of cultures and nationalities.

Prices are reasonable, roads are modern, and transport is relatively cheap. Please note if hiring a car in Krytenia, smoking is not permitted in rental cars and we drive on the left.

Stadium Information
Isserson Olympic Stadium, Emberton
The national stadium, and home to Emberton Reds. The sweeping roof over the East Stand is an architectural wonder. Most well known for being the centrepiece of the Seventh Summer Olympics.

Southern Arena, Ousevale
Built to replace Ousevale Borough's old Denbigh Park ground, this modern stadium, with its high roof to allow sun in and cushioned seating, is a haven for fans.

New Midland Stadium, Bromham
Usually known as the Cygnus Stadium, Mercia Bromham's home ground will be known by its "official" non-sponsored name for the tournament. The original home of the Cygnus Cup final before that competition was moved around the world.

New City Stadium, Avidia
Built in the Avidia New City expansion area of Krytenia's second-largest city, the NCS is home to Avidia United. Its high stands are arranged in a noise-catching bowl shape.

Harbour Stadium, Stanton
Built on former warehouse land in the Stanton Docks, the Harbour Stadium is notable for being right on the shores of Lake Bekk (or Beck, if you're a local).

Walton Gardens, Simpson
Its name comes from the fact it was built on land originally used for botanical gardens.

Coalfields, Osteria
Home of Casuals Osteria, the stadium is at the heart of this old mining and steelmaking town.

Abbey Road, Bradwell
The smallest of the eight stadia, built around half a mile from the ruins of Bradwell Priory, a local landmark oft-visited by tourists.

ROYAL KINGDOM OF QUEBEC

Transportation

To arrive in Quebec you'll likely just want to fly in to the city that you will be playing in. The 6 cities going to be hosting the tournament, with all of them possessing a major airport. If you insist on arriving via waterways, then there's nothing to worry, as all 3 holds a port able to hold most vessels.

While travelling inside country, there are main methods you can use for this. The railways here isn't as quick as it'd be with other nations(the maximum speed being 225km for the fastest train service), but they are extremely punctual/on-time, popular and frequent(one train per 30 minutes), making it a very cost-effective and attractive option. Quebec does possess a strong auto industry and cars are somewhat prevalent, so you can travel via cars if interested. Flying between those three cities are not recommended as there are not only very few flights, but also there's no need for them.

Lodging

There will be some hotels of high-calibre (at least 4 star ones) available in those cities. However, those 4 cities being medium-sized cities, there will be some issues. The same will not be guaranteed with the visiting fans as there will be mass influx of Quebecois citizens as well, to watch the games. Therefore it is recommended to make reservations 3-4 months ahead of the tournament, in order to guarantee your reservation in the hotels around the city.

If you are still in trouble of finding hotel or motel suites, there will be hotels, motels and other modes of accomodation available at your expense, on towns slightly far away from the venues(50km-100km). For more information please contact Tourism Quebec or for more specific information any tourism agency of the city/cities you'll be off to(OOC: TG The Royal Kingdom of Quebec if you have any questions or so).

Weather

Royal Kingdom of Quebec is located in Temperate and Polar regions, with the cities located in varying degrees of climate zones so all 4 seasons can be experienced each year, but with different extremes. As this tournament is held during the month of June, temperatures will be either around 18-25'C in normal days for all venues but those in Attawapiskat and Iqaluit. For information about how the Summers are like in normal Summer time for them, please look at the venues information. For those visiting Attawapiskat and/or Iqaluit, it's very likely that the snowfall will be extremely frequent. This will not affect the train services, though it'll do more than enough job of freezing people up, as all of the games will be held outdoors.

Languages

There are three official languages in this nation: English, French and Korean. All 3 languages are taught in school curriculum and with great depth, causing most of the population to be at least trilingual. Additionally, in this part of the nation there are some other First Nations languages being recognised as regional languages and are used+learned to great depth in schools, so please note this when you're RPing in Quebec. Most Quebecois you'll meet are extremely polyglot and that will show with way they speak.

When it comes to linguistic status on city that you're RPing on/about, you're more than welcome to TG The Royal Kingdom of Quebec about it.

Money

The national currency of Quebec is Quebecois Dollar, which is fairly expensive. The current exchange rate is $3 NS for 1 Quebecois dollar. With the nation being rich with huge economy, almost everyone will have at least has a good deal of money here. So please don't feel surprised if the products are much more expensive here than back home, excluding alcohol.

Things you'll need in your stay, prices in NS Dollars (NS$) and Quebecois Dollars (Q$)

-Hotel: NS$ 35-400, Q$12-135
-Public transport in the cities: NS$2-$5, Q$0.7-1.7
-Bus transport to different cities: NS$5-50, Q$1.7-17
-Train transport to different cities: NS$6-80, Q$2-28
-Ferry between lakes: NS$5-$12, Q$1.7-4
-Flights between cities: NS$65-150, Q$22-50
-Average cost of food: NS$12-45, Q$4-15
-Sports tickets: NS$60-600, Q$20-200
-Bottle of water: NS$9, Q$3 (Sale of bottled water extremely limited, with public fountains providing very low interest for the people)
-Public phone: NS$1.5 per call, Q$0.5 per call

Cuisine

Quebecois cuisine has evolved through centuries of social and political change. Originating from dominant Korean and elegant French cuisine that came with settlers, as well as materials and existing food of the First Nations living in the area, Quebecois cuisine has evolved through a complex interaction of the natural environment and different cultural trends and is the best mix of it all.

Quebecois cuisine is largely based upon rice, other diverse kinds of grains, vegetables, and meats(in this area moose and caribou, and to rare cases bears). The meals are noted for the number of side dishes (banchan) that accompany steam-cooked short-grain rice. It varies on the personal preferences but often in every meal they eat at least some form of maple syrup, Kimchi and/or bread. Commonly used ingredients include sesame oil, doenjang (fermented bean paste), soy sauce, salt, garlic, ginger, pepper flakes and gochujang (fermented red chili paste). In this part of the nation, fish are caught off the rivers and lakes to be eaten in whatever the way one prefers as well.

Ingredients and dishes vary by region to region, with many. Many regional dishes have become national, and dishes that were once regional have proliferated in different variations across the country.
Meals are regulated by cultural etiquette, which are very hard to follow for even the average Quebecois due to all the processes they take.

TG The Royal Kingdom of Quebec for any questions.

Religion

Quebec is a religiously diverse country, though divided when it comes to dominant regions. In the cities where the World Cup of Hockey will be hosted, First Nations' religions are widely practiced, with Quebecois Catholic Church and Buddhism right behind. Due to these differences, all three levels of Government keeps some separation from any religions, though they still hold some influences in those levels and receive lots of funding. It is also not recommended to argue about politics or religion in Quebec, as political and religious apathy is not known....for most part.

Laws

Culturally and socially, Quebec is in bit of a mix. Another handy chart will be in place to explain some of Quebec's laws in place:

Recreational drugs: Legal, though selling them without licence can lead to up to $10,000 in fines and 5 years in jail.
Hard drugs: Illegal, with punishments up to $50,000 in fines and 15 years in jail for possession and consumption of the drugs
Prostitution: Legal, though people's attitudes about it will be very conservative in this part of the nation
Pornography: Legal, aside from child pornography(applies to any pornographic videos or anything else starring people up to 18 years of age). Possession of child pornography will land you straight in jail for 5 years, while production and distribution of it can lead to potential death sentence. So, don't try it as it's a big no-no.
Legal age for tobacco: Varies (16 in Val d'Or and Rouyn-Noranda, 19 in Churchill and Winnipeg, 18 in rest)
Legal age for alcohol: 16
Maximum BAC to drive: 0.03.
Saying the word 'Coconut': Legal

All the foreign citizens caught under the Federal and/or Provincial law will not be extradited, unless of a special order given by the Emperor, His Imperial Majesty the Jacques IX.

Host Venues

Winnipeg, provincial capital and largest city of Manitoba province, is the true regional centre and gateway to Western Quebec. The city, having a large First Nations and Guayabalense population, is hotbed for most sports. Rugby is of no exception, with Western Force games always sold out and the team constantly raking me off the draws. Winnipeg is probably the most progressive city in the nation, with Greens dominating the provincial votes for past 2 decades. Expect the crowd to be largely consisted of the youth and early adults, but also with some countrysiders as well.

Kingston is a major city in the Southwestern corner of the nation, with the population of 3 million. an international centre for business and finanace. The city's cosmopolitan and international population reflects its status as one of most important destinations for immigrants to this Esquarian nation. The city itself is a mix of different periods and styles in history, which draws attentions to many visitors and residents. However, the city itself is quite weak on culture, a huge downer for one of Quebec's largest cities.

Attawapiskat has been a mining city for its entire existence, owing its existence to two mineral deposits that were nearby. Royal Āhtawāpiskatowi Deposit, located northwest of the city of 750,000, was the World’s largest Diamond deposit, while Northland-Denver Deposit, which is 50km away to the northeast, was the World’s largest Emerald deposit. Recently however they have been diversifying their economy into telecommunications and trades, bringing the city additional economic boom. As a result, Politics-wise, it has been a conservative and traditional area, which was shown through the dominance of Parti Quebecois in last several provincial and federal elections.

When it comes to climate, it is a pretty cold city, with the average temperature of -4'C on a Summer day. So it is wise to wear some warm clothes.

Gaspe

Known as the "Gateway to Quebec", the city of 750,000 is the staging point of what's one of the largest oil operations on Multiverse, off the rich and plentiful Esperance Gulf and 4,983 km2-big Gaspecie National Park. This makes Gaspe the point where both industrial, educational and environmental interests meet in one place, thus a true cultural, governmental and educational centre in the Gaspecie province. It is also the home of Gaspe Central Mall, largest mall in Quebec east of Montreal.

Charlottetown

Known for its potatoes and beautiful scenery on countryside, Prince Laurent Island is an island small in population (350,000) but highly passionate in attendance and love of football. Since the early 70s the Islanders have been among the most supported out of all teams in a market its size, and its occasional successes in the former Q-League has made the team and island a small star among metropolis-based giants in the league.

St.John's

Located on the easternmost and largest island of Quebec, this Newfoundland city of 3.45 million people is one of the largest in the country and largest in Atlantic Quebec by far. A city of Eireanners, it's a city that's been on hard times for large part of late 1900s, but has on a strong rebound session for most of 2000s due to offshore oil development. Nowadays the demographics are lot more diverse than it once was 30 years ago, and you'll be able to mix in with any groups of Gaelic descent you prefer to be around with. The corporate aspect is starting to be stronger in some places, but for most part the locals are still very welcoming, vibrant and gentle folks.

Unlike its status as a major Quebecois city, downtown St.John's is relatively low-rise, with the heritage laws placed to restrict destruction of heritage buildings in what's the oldest settlement on the Northeastern part of the country. With this, on top of hilly terrain and steep maze of residential streets, downtown St. John's is considered to be highly beautiful, with the houses painted in bright, vibrant colours.

Iqaluit

Iqaluit is a city of 750,000 people, most of them Inuits. With average winter temperature of -27'C, It is by far the coldest major city in Quebec, located right in the Esquarian Arctic. Therefore, most of the transportation is done through subways and underground hallways, which are often well known for being insulating, as well as luxurious. The city is extremely well known for its love of hockey, having 25,000 hockey arenas and rinks in a city of 750,000, but football is well-followed with Iqaluit Red Army drawing huge attendance figures.

History

Associated Godlands has always harbored a passion for the game, but the most organized play that existed was churches playing against one another. However, the Associated Godlands government has recently decided to take a more vested interest in soccer, starting with entering the World Cup. In Associated Godlands's first ever international match in the Baptism of Fire, 50,000 followers made the long trip to Star United States to see them play out a 0-0 draw against Recuecn. Associated Godlands then scored their first goal and earned their first win in the next match against United RussoAsia, a 3-0 victory. They followed that up with a dominating 4-0 win over Helmon to finish first in the group and make the knockout stages. Unfortunately, they didn't last long, falling 5-1 to Port Christopher in the round of 16. But fans were still optimistic about Associated Godlands's chances in the upcoming World Cup. However, those hopes largely fell flat. Associated Godlands, despite their occasional shows of flair and the heroics of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, often looked lifeless, and only managed one win in 14 matches, along with four draws. The seven-point showing was disappointing, but the Obeyers will look to make it up in the Cup of Harmony.

Associated Godlands also has a rich history outside of soccer. The nation was established 2015 years ago when The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born and cast His glow over previously dark, barren lands. He made these lands, now called Associated Godlands, burst with life. Associated Godlands has been a paradise ever since.

National Information

Quick Facts
Capital: Reçueçn
Official Languages: French, German, Italian
Non-official Languages: English, Romansh
Population: 8,133,113 (regional censuses 1999-2011)
Area: 55,057 km2
Currency: Guilder
The country of Reçueçn is located in western Europe, nestled in the Alps between France, Switzerland, and Italy. The country is economically and socially very similar to Switzerland, but with a large French influence. The country was founded in the thirteenth century, originally in a military conquest by a baron with a touch of megalomania, (Carl III of Reçueçn) but after a rebellion against him, was reformed with a constitution which was incredibly democratic for that time. The form of the government has not changed much since then, and remains intricate and complicated, although it has been amended several times to modernize it. The government is very decentralized, and individual regions have large amounts of autonomy.

The country is very mountainous, with many river valleys and forested mountain-slopes, but also grassy alpine pastures, usually with cows. The tradition of keeping cows and goats in the mountains has had a large affect on the culture of the nation. Thus the roots of the national culture are alpine and agricultural. There is an inclination towards architecture and , more recently, to follow other European neighbors, science. Societal, scientific, and artistic advancement has been helped by the fact that after the rebellion, the people became very peaceful, and the country has been, as a rule, strictly neutral. In the last few decades, however, the country has joined The Teikei, an international alliance akin to the European Union, and there are plans to tie the Guilder to the Teketa, the inter-national currency of the Teketa.

The Reçuecian National team is rather defensive, partly due to the large influence of Reçueçn FC on the team. However, with other, more offensive players (notably Franky Adams), the team has developed its counter-attacks and become more of a threat on the attack. However, Gerald Firaut (Reçueçn's star goalkeeper) and his defense still dominate the game.

The team has had very little national recognition, being very recently founded: Reçueçn made it to the quarterfinals in the fifty-ninth Baptism of Fire, and afterwards played a friendly against United RussoAsia in "Le 1er Annuel Tournoi Teikei," which they handily won, 3-1.

During the Baptism of fire, the team really came together. As a glance at the roster will show, the team is full of talented, but also high-strung, self-confident and proud individuals, often from rival teams. Thus the debut of the team was rocky and disunified. However, Jacques Tremblay managed to bring the team together in time to do decently in the Baptism of Fire.

In the following World Cup, a confident, unified Recuecian side went up against some of the biggest names in multiverse football, and was happy to earn some honorable draws against many of them. However, the side did not record many wins, and was slightly disappointed with their results, not achieving their goal of doing better than 7th place in the group. Some trouble arose when the starting keeper, Gerald Firaut, the main star of the team, was absent at some games to help his wife when the two of them had a baby.

However, the side drew enough attention to itself in its first world cup qualifying performance to be invited to the Cup of Harmony, and we eagerly wait to see if it can do better in that competition.

Roster & Team information

Manager: Jacques Tremblay, 69 years old. Used to coach for Associated Savoie.
Old and wise, and known for his eternal ability to surprise and innovate, Jacques Tremblay is often seen as the father of modern Reçuecian football. He had retired, but when asked to coach the national team, did not refuse. He, along with Gerauld Firaut, holds together the national team, oft riven with tension.
His new methods brought great players to Associated Savoie, his old RNFA team. His retirement not long before the founding of the RNFA hurt the team greatly. However, five years later, he did not refuse when asked to coach the national team.

Starting XI

GK: Gerauld Firaut, 22 years old. Team captain. Jersey #1. Plays for Reçueçn FC.
Responsible and mature for his age, Firaut is widely considered the best player in Reçeuçn. His star status does not extend outside the country as of yet, however, due to the fact that he is a goalie, and strikers tend to get more fame. His goal-tending skill, however, is unparalleled.

SW: Leo Beck, 26 years old. Jersey #2. Plays for Reçueçn FC.
Beck, when playing with Firaut, helps fill out his team's defensive capabilities, being a stellar defender. Although older than Firaut, he looks up to him as a leader, and is very protective of him, as well as Reçueçn FC's reputation--often causing conflict on the national team.

LB: Ägidius Heissler, 32 years old. Jersey #3. Plays for Itrino.
Can always find a way to trap an attack in the corner, and then get the goal kick. Very tall, and good at heading away corners.

CB: Norman Bright, 30 years old. Jersey #4. Plays for Renwyll.
Can pair well with a good goal-keeper to shut down attacks--if he and the goal-keeper get along. He was widely credited for Renwyll's high performance in the Globe Cup 56.

RB: Oliver Spencer, 21 years old. Jersey #5. Plays for Reçueçn FC.
Another star defensive player from Reçueçn FC, Spencer is often outshone by Firaut, and Spencer can never decide whether the rivalry he thinks they have is more important than team spirit or not.

LM: Clint Soto, 32 years old. Jersey #6. Plays for Ville-Sur-Rivière.
Soto has valuable experience from before the foundation of the RNFA, and has a masterful grasp of tactics and strategy. He has, unfortunately passed his peak of fitness.

AM: Harold Saunders, 25 years old. Jersey #7. Plays for Association Genève.
Saunders is synonymous with an aggressive style of play, especially in the midfield. He seems to always be able to find a way to give the ball to Franky. On and off the field he is emotionally well-balanced, usually rather stoic and unmoved.

RM: Maynard Hebron, 23 years old. Jersey #8. Plays for the Alpine Armageddon.
The unsung hero of the Alpine Armageddon, Hebron is a great proponent of football development across Recuecn, especially on behalf of smaller amateur teams who want to join the RNFL. This can sometimes lead to him having an antagonistic mindset against the big names in the sport.

LW: Hippolyte Lavigne, 29 years old. Jersey #9. Plays for Bayern Heidelberg.
Lavigne can make great crosses, but usually tenses up out of pressure if he has to score himself. Very tall, a leading figure on and off the field.

CF: Frank "Franky" Adams, 17 years old. Jersey #10. Plays for Association Genève.
Young, extremely talented, and rather cocky, Franky, who plays for Association Genève in the RNFL, really makes their team. When he has a bad shooting streak, his team has a losing streak, and vice versa, and he knows it. At Association Genève, the team and the fans love him. At the national team, they tolerate him--his rivalries with Reçueçn FC's players cause tension which Coach Tremblay must try to defuse. Tremblay, incidentally, thinks Franky is a bit conceited, although he is still one of the most conscious of his talent.

RW: Freeman Lebo, 22 years old. Jersey #11. Plays for KlydE FC (Cosumar).
Can score goals, is highly motivated, and persevering. However, he is high-strung and not too difficult to offend, traits which, when combined with his overestimation of his own skill, can make him difficult to get along with. Has lots of potential when a manager can get him to swallow his pride, and Tremblay usually can. Whenever he can't, however, Lebo and Franky tend to argue. One of a few Recuecian players playing abroad. Was Puits Tunnellers main goal-scorer but was disappointed with their last place finish and had trouble getting along with the manager there, both he and the team will be happy to go their separate ways.

Reserves

GK: Jannick Bechtholdt, 29 years old. Jersey #12. Plays for Association Genève.
Association Genève's starting keeper has to alternately put up with being a goalie on a team where it's all about the attack, and being goalie on the national team where he can barely hold a candle to Gerald Firaut. Often ignored, he is still a great player.

SW: Hugh Wilkins, 34 years old. Jersey #13. Plays for Heldingen.
Another high-strung player who is immensely loyal to his club--sometimes to the detriment of unity on the national team.

LB: Paulin Bourguignon, 19 years old. Jersey #14. Plays for Stomford.
Bourguignon is the kind of defensive player who is always trying to clear the ball with long shots and score goals at corner kicks. Big on counter-attacks, he sometimes outpaces the mid-fielders, usually to his coach's dismay.

CB: Lukas Kayserling, 18 years old. Jersey #15. Plays for Hesse Sporting.
Very tall. Calm and controlled. Sometimes has difficulty communicating as he doesn't speak English or French as well as most of the other team members.

RB: Klaus Klemm, 26 years old. Jersey #16. Plays for Chapel-Field House.
Plays defense, but as if he were a mid-fielder. Thinks that because Chapel-Field House comes from the same city as Recuecn FC, they should be just as important.

LM: Luc Pélissier, 28 years old. Jersey #17. Plays for Puits Tunnellers.
Another player with a slightly over-sized ego, Pélissier's skill on the field isn't as great as some others, so he makes up for it usually by either taking someone else's side in an argument, or by boasting about one of his several impressive hobbies. Was partly responsible for the tension that caused Freeman Lebo to leave Puits' Tunnellers.

DM: Grégoire Leclair, 26 years old. Jersey #18. Plays for Association Genève.
Leclair almost never plays at the same time as Saunders. Usually, one is subbed for the other depending on whether more defensive or offensive tactics are called for at the moment. Leclair's specialty is going back and clearing the ball in difficult situations.

RM: Thomas Büchel, 28 years old. Jersey #19. Plays for Reçueçn FC.
Büchel is a very fluid player, who doesn't let himself get locked into the same rut. His best trait is his situational ability, which, when coupled with his dribbling and passing skills, makes him a formidable force when trying to maintain possession or get the ball forward.

LW: Per Tegeler, 21 years old. Jersey #20. Plays for Annedine Sporting.
Good at receiving the ball from the defense or mid-field, trapping it in general, and taking it into the 18-yard box and shooting. Possible weakness is passing: either he doesn't, or it's long air balls.

CF: Ly Nasser, 20 years old. Jersey #21. Plays for Zimmerich FC.
Loves to shoot from far out, and often shoots high. Despite this, he makes up for it with his sheer number of shots. Incredibly aggressive, and loved by Zimmerich fans. Thinks he is one of the best strikers in the world, and he certainly is a good player.

RW: Jean-Baptiste Brochard, 24 years old. Jersey #22. Plays for Lampadaires Associated.
Immensely fast, especially with the ball, Brochard is weaker in set pieces and organized attacks. His strength is the counter-attack and the breakaway.

GK: Helies de Malhortye, 32 years old. Jersey #23. Plays for Reçueçn FC.
De Malhortye has noble blood and is slightly high-strung. Sometimes he is easily offended. Most often, however, he is a solid choice for a back-up goalie. Good at blocking penalties.

Staff
Manager: Rick MARTINEZ (61)
Record: GP 114, W 58, D 21, L 35, GF 242, GA 196, WP 50.88%
The former manager of Deportivo Nespa, where he won the domestic treble in the 2014-15 season. He was appointed with the job on a permanent basis after he guided the national team to another Round of 16 appearance at the Cup of Harmony at Valanora, on which he was managing the team on an interim basis. Martinez is a tackler for discipline and he is willing to drop any player he feels that is not ready for a match. He also schedules training for the senior squad two to three times a week, and anyone who misses training has a low probability of starting the next match. He is the first manager to guide the Agilang Dilaw to its maiden World Cup Finals, at the 68th edition of the World Cup in Legalese and Free Republics.

Assistant Manager: Lorick MANGABAY (49)
Assistant of Rick Martinez while at Deportivo Nespa. He always follow what Rick wants, but he is a hardworking staff. He usually gathers data of upcoming opponents in any way he can, and show it to Rick in order to formulate tactics against them.

Coaches: Jervin Datu (40), Dickson Atencio (40), Soren Morin (45), Isaiah Alquiros (59)
Physios: Solomon Andalencio (48), Edmund Aborita (65)

Style: +2.05
A slightly attacking formation, Martinez utilizes his wingers to deliver dangerous crosses and usually employs overlapping of wingers and fullbacks. This tactic was always seen when he managed the Los Islenos and don't be surprised when he uses it again effectively.
Formation: 4-4-2 diamond, switching to a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-1-2-2-1

Stadium

Estadio Olimpico (Sangti, TRB; capacity 100,000)
Tenants: The Royal Barangay National Football Team, Konsehong Pampalakasan ng Maharlikang Barangay
Directions from the airport: Take the avenue going towards Calle Deportes. When at Calle Deportes, go about three blocks, and there is the stadium. This stadium is very near to StadiumSangti. Alternatively, there are buses that go directly from the airport to the stadiums in the capital.
Details: This newly built stadium was originally designed by Kytleran company BNW Varin. However, the inability of the company to built the stadium in time for the World Cup 66 qualifiers meant that the contract had to be passed to other capable companies. The local builder company Vilalobos Corp stepped up and constructed the stadium in time for the World Cup 67 Qualifiers. This stadium took over hosting of national team matches and hosting of the Copa del Barangay final and Supercopa Maharlika from Estadio Ferdinand Marcos, now known as StadiumSangti. The 100,000 capacity stadium has goal line technology installed in the natural grass pitch. Since this is a relatively new stadium, the government of Mazda Senina invested heavily in installing up to date amenities and technologies for the stadium, and since the assassination of the old supremo, security has been improved, with 3,000 CCTV cameras surrounding the stadium. This stadium hosted the final of the ninth Campionato Esportiva, with Taijan lifting the trophy after their 5-4 extra time win over German American States. The stadium also hosted the UICA Champions Cup 53 Final, where 1896 Ebor of Mytannion defeated Turoki United of Vilita, 1-0 to retain the title.

Kits

The Barangayan National team ended its kit deal with Kirola Sports at the conclusion of the 71st World Cup. They acquired the services of Libertad Sportswear Multiversal to provide the kits for the Agilang Dilaw.

Home kit will remain yellow, with black shorts, instead of an all-yellow configuration from the previous four World Cup campaigns. These shorts are still available as an alternate. The away kit is black, with yellow shorts, with black shorts as an alt. Keeper kits will be all-green with yellow trim.

Polkopian National Football Team
"The Snovski"

Image

Despite not qualifying for the World Cup, the Polkopian National Team came third place in their group, beating the likes of teams such as Vettera and Starblaydia to nearly qualify for the playoffs. Now, the Snovski will be seeking revenge for their World Cup defeat and will be hoping to finally win a major international football tournament.

The "Hanisov Stadiona", or Hanisov Stadium, is the home stadium for the Polkopian National Football Team. The stadium itself is relatively new, having only just been built five years ago, and seats a total of 78,000 spectators. The stadium had been originally constructed to field the club team, Peeto Gordost', but the PFA, or Polkopian Football Association, changed it last minute. The views from the stands pictured here and here assure a great-quality view from nearly any angle.

Formation, Starting XI, and Style

Image

Style Modifier= +1

This time around, the Lions are going to be a bit more aggressive, starting in the midfield. Kyle Fleming, captain of Cassandra City, shifts from the wing to the center midfield. He'll roam forward in support of Emmanuel Moga while Cesar Martinez drifts back to cover up on defense. Replacing Fleming on the wing is Jake Rhodes, the speedster playing for Atlantea Hurricanes. Rhodes is an aggressive player with a nose for the goal and will almost function as an outside forward. His more attacking play means that Chris Parker will be putting his distributive skills to work more than his goal-scoring skills on the other wing. Backing up Rhodes will be Eli Barrett, who is well known as a strong fullback with good pace willing to challenge enemy attackers. Rhodes should be able to get back on D, given his speed and motor, but if he can't, then Barrett will be there to cut off any chances. Also new to the lineup is Aaron Bowen, playing for Montreal Koreana. He saw some time in the last World Cup, but this will be a true test of his ability. Tim Klein has stepped into a backup role to allow Thomas Barnett, the former U20 and Olympic keeper, to take his turn in the spotlight. Barnett is a good player, but he will definitely be relying on his defenders to help him out. As always, Emmanuel Moga and Chris Hodges provide a strong attack up front, Casey Bowman anchors the middle of the back line, and Bradley Lancaster will attack down the flanks, though perhaps not quite as much, seeing as he's a bit older.

Imperial Albaie National Team

The nation is still in a period of rebuilding following the war but the team remains the same. William Dubrack Dubrackson leads the team out for another tournament hoping for the international teams first success. Duke Arthur Sportern and Earl Edward Mercer continue their interim stint in the managerial dugout with Vincent Debren The Elder still in a coma inside hospital. Deberen has though shown signs of progress and people still hope for his recovery which doctors are still unable to predict.

Earl Mark Deberen after a bad stint in the managerial dugout at the begining of the tournament decided to go on sabbatical to recharge his managerial batteries before an eventual return. This move has been supported by the Emperor and the IAFA.

The Emperor and the Lord Imperial both keen supporters of returning Albaie to it's old status as one of the rising forces in international football and so they have been investing heavily into training facilities for the international team and even heavier into grass roots football to increase the importance of the national game. And so the national team goes into this competition with not a great deal of optimism at their chances but a huge deal of pride because life is finally returning to normal.

The team is exactly the same as the World Cup Qualifying Squad as despite threats to drop players both Sportern and Mercer agreed that a Cup of Harmony placement and fourth in the group was the most they were expecting before the qualifiers so despite the early blip in performance the team remain the same except for Blackeep who is replaced by Walter Vont due to the former's injury.

Staff

Count Vincent Deberen The Elder LCOTIO KOTB -Manager. Deberen Albaie's only manager in the recent Multiverse Era has lead our team to great heights during the Campionato Esportiva but the recent qualification campaign has besmirched his record. Hopefully Deberen can rebuild the team and lead it back to its former glory. Deberen also managers Dubrack's Town Celtic the Imperial Bank Premier League powerhouse who also have started making waves on the continental scene. Deberen is also a former player who holds all goal scoring records in the country and is Albaie's most capped ever player with 178 caps and with 167 goals shows what a star he was. Not to be confused with Vincent Deberen The Younger who is his 16 year old son who happens to play for both Dubrack's Town Celtic and the Albaie National Team. Even though he keeps his place as manager he is still incapacitated following a car crash and has remained so throughout the Great Imperial War.

Brigadier Lord Mark Deberen DC SRC AS Bar MS DSM of the 77th Brigade Deberen's Dragons - Assistant Manager/Caretaker Manager. Mark another member of the Deberen sporting dynasty who as son of Vincent Deberen The Elder was widely touted as his successor and at the young age of 15 was playing in a Under 19's match for his fathers club Dubrack's Town Celtic against local rivals Albaie Rangers to prepare for his starting debut when a vicious challenge broke his leg in two places and the young lad announced his retirement but a week later was announced as Head of Youth Team Liaisons at Dubrack's Town Celtic where he took lessons from his father and started doing his coaching badges and by the age of 20 he was Head of First Team Coaching under his father and alongside Sir Arthur Sportern was his father's closest ally. Mark then left the club at 24 to manage the struggling Maras Wolfs and in his first season won the Emperor's Shield and the Imperial Bet Championship and so secured promotion to the Imperial Bank Premier League. In the team's first season in the top flight Mark completed the unthinkable not only winning the Albaie Cup but the Imperial Bank Premier League itself a feat unrivalled in Albaie footballing history. Then at the end of the season he announced his resignation and returned to fill the space left by Arthur Sportern as he became Head of the AFA and made a duke. Mark then at the beginning of last season filled the gap left by Stephen MacMillan at international level who left to head the Imperial Commission for Improvement In Football under Duke Arthur Sportern at the AFA being made a Count in the process. Has taken over his father's managerial position in his absence. After a successful World Cup and his return to the war torn nation he joined up into the Imperial Army raising a brigade known as Deberen's Dragons with 5,000 infantry men, 1,500 horsemen and 500 artilleryman with cannons as well. His war service was exceptional and he saw combat in many battles one of which the Battle of Horseton in which he won the battle with a valiant horse charge but sustained a fierce face wound resulting in a much altered appearance. Over the course of the war he was awarded a DC a AS and a SRK for his valiant service as well as being allowed to start his own cadet branch House Deberen of Horseton with the lordship of Horseton being granted to him having slayed it's rebel lord in the battle. At the Battle Of Harlington Hall Mark and Vincent Deberen sneaked behind enemy lines with their troops and played havoc on the enemy rear effectively causing distractions that enabled the Emperor's troops to win the battle with minimal losses. Mark was awarded with a DSM and a AS for his service as well as having his estates expanded by 2,000 acres from territory taken from rebel soldiers. After two of the best World Cup Qualifiers in Albaie history, a dismal first half to World Cup 71 Qualification Deberen went on a sabbatical to recharge his managerial batteries.

General Duke Arthur Sportern Lord High President of the Imperial Albaie Football Association - Interim Manager - Sportern the current Lord High President of the IAFA and a distinguished manager and player from Albaie's past who stands among the very greatest of her football players being hailed as the creative spark behind Vincent Deberen's genius. He has stepped in to the managerial role to allow Mark Deberen time to recover his lost ability before he resumes his stint as manager of the nation.

Chief Of Staff Colonel Lord Edward " Lucky " Mercer DC AS SRC MC MS of the 77th Brigade Deberen's Dragons - Goalkeeping Coach / Caretaker Assistant Manager - " Lucky " is a former youth player for Dubrack's Town Celtic and Albaie but he suffered a serious injury his career was over. He then saw service in the 77th Dubrack's Town Light Infantry during the Second Advar Revolution when he sided with the Crown Prince during the Battle Of Advaria and then served by his side during the conflict and was well decorated with a Dubrack Cross and an Albert Star as well as a Saint Ruk Cross for his good service as well as being made a Knight of Saint Arthyr for saving the Crown Prince's life on three occasions. " Lucky " then joined the Imperial Guard but saw a stagnation in his career as he was posted to service with unimportant members of the Imperial Family and then finally service as a guard at the AFA which is where Count Vincent Deberen recruited him as a coach and he quickly rose through the ranks at Dubrack's Town Celtic and Albaie and became a key man in the Campionato Esportiva. He was a key part of the last World Cup campaign. " Lucky " joined Sir Mark as his second in command and the two saw great service in the war and were both richly awarded and " Lucky " was raised to a lord and has become one of the key men of the loyalist army.

Cenian National Team - Cup of Harmony 64

Football History
Football in Ceni has only recently began to take off in popularity. Even though football has been present in Ceni for a good majority of the time that it has been settled, other sports, mainly tennis, badminton, and squash, held precedence in Cenian sporting life. For the most part, society gave football barely a passing glance as Ceni built its dominance in tennis. As the popularity of football grew in the last decade, however, pressure grew for the Cenian government to create a national team and send it to compete with the world's best. First, however, it would play in the 54th Baptism of Fire against other nations new to international football. In what was perhaps an ill omen for the rest of Ceni's international football campaigns, the Sarian, later to reach the final, crushed Ceni. In the group stage, Ceni barely managed one win before qualifying for the playoffs on goal difference, where they defeated Bonny in only their second win of the tournament, winning the opportunity to face eventual champion Buyan in the Round of 16. Although Ceni played valiantly, Buyan won, 1-0, in a not-surprising scoreline.

After its poor showing in the Baptism of Fire, Ceni embarked on its first World Cup qualification campaign. Not many people payed attention, and the team, led by Pablito Numede, managed to scrape up a few points before going home in ignominy. If one could say that Ceni's first qualification campaign was a three-year-old's small beach bucket, Ceni's second campaign barely made a drop in that bucket. The short description: nobody really cared. Sure, maybe some people were disappointed by the team's quite awful performance, but the general populace shrugged. In World Cup 69, Ceni finally started caring about its World Cup qualification prospects. Unsurprisingly, they weren't good. Although Ceni did manage to secure draws against Felix and Chiata, and a win against the then-twenty-ninth-ranked Super-Llamaland, it was not enough to make even a small dent in the large wall separating Ceni from World Cup qualification. In World Cup 70, Ceni had a real chance at qualifying. Despite falling 2-9 down to Audioslavia, Ceni notched a win against the second seed Neu Engollon to get a chance to defeat Electrum in a last-match day decider at home. Apparently the gods of fate were not smiling on the Cenian team, for the team fell by one goal, ending hopes of a playoff spot and World Cup qualification. Ceni's prospects had come so close, yet they were as far away as ever. At the Cup of Harmony, Ceni defeated Neu Engollon again, and shockingly defeated world number 9 and eventual champion Turori, ending a losing slide against the top 10. However, Ceni could not end its losing slide against Electrum, whom they faced in the Round of 16, losing for the third time in a row.

Ceni came back yet again for World Cup 71. It started disappointingly, with a loss to Zenic and a draw to the hitherto-unknown Octinstine courtesy of an Alliance for Cenian Future ploy. After that, Ceni won against second seed Barunia. On paper, the second half of qualification should have been good enough: four wins, one against top seed Blouman Empire, and three draws. Unfortunately, the draws were against Zenic at home and against the minnow Aynard, ranked in the three hundreds, and they sealed Ceni's doom. Soothsayers and gamblers who bet on Ceni's failure were the only ones celebrating. Without the disappointing draws to the bottom of the group, Ceni would have made the playoff spot; with five more points against Zenic, Ceni would have qualified outright. Alas, the gods of fate had conspired against Ceni once again, and Ceni would move to the Cup of Harmony at home. It performed decently. Despite draws to Kazamatsuri and Matthewsiana in the group stage, Ceni managed to advance to the Round of 16, where it defeated Darvale to reach the quarterfinals and Mizuyuki on penalties to reach the semifinals. It lost to Valanora, hardly surprising, and Saintland in the third place match, but Ceni finally had made somewhat of a mark in international football. It felt it was ready to qualify.

However, the dream did not come to fruition. In World Cup 72 qualification, the team lost to Barunia, a team it had beaten in World Cup 71, on the first match day and drew the 279th ranked Welcomzia. It then lost to the successor of Mizuyuki, Kirisaki, and drew with the 100th ranked side Vermark. Ceni's losses and disappointments kept coming, losing to minnows Emperor Pudu and Atrua. While the draws against Aynard and Octinstine were disturbing at best and heartbreaking at worst, Cenian supporters were crushed by their spell of bad luck during World Cup 72. A target for their fury was manager Osman Ibarra, who was sacked by the Cenian Football Federation, and replaced by Kirk Koromin, father of star Kel Koromin and manager of Tir Snake Strike, Ceni's best club. The switch seemed to have improved morale by a bit, as the team got revenge on Welcomzia, Vermark, and Atrua (all by the score of 3-2) and drew Kirisaki. However, it was not enough, as the pesky Emperor Pudu managed to defeat Ceni, and Ceni did not qualify, with a low take of 18 points. Surprisingly, however, Ceni improved one spot in the rankings, to forty-fourth. At this seemingly happy news, however, Cenian officials rued that they could have advanced into the top 40 with a better performance. It comes to the Cup of Harmony facing an identity crisis and a crisis of leadership. Can it recover from its poor performance to finally do something? That remains to be seen.

Your RP permissions are mine, short of death and career-ending injuries. If I can send off your players, you can send off mine. If your players can’t be booked, neither can mine. If I can cause a fissure in the earth that swallows up all the players on the pitch and sends them to an alternate dimension, so can you. Just make it funny/entertaining, if you don’t mind. ;)

English, French and Aurentine naming conventions are rather standard and follow Western conventions: first name is the given name, second is the family name. Players of English, French and Aurentine ethnicity will generally be referred to by their family names in most contexts, though Jean-Baptiste Couard is a notable exception. Takiari names are somewhat more complicated, consisting of a given name, patronymic and clan name in that order. The patronymic is generally dropped outside of legal contexts, a convention which is reflected on the roster list, while many Takiari players prefer to go by their given names. The name that all players are referred to as when not using full names are in all caps on the roster list.

If I haven’t posted a starting eleven for a particular game, please assume that the standard eleven are being used. You can feel free to make substitutions, so long as they are position for position as explained on the roster list.

Omerica’s seemingly good fortune could not last. Heading into qualifying buoyed by a win over San José Guayabal in a friendly tournament, Les Oiseaux proved itself to be near-incompetent as it flopped to a 2-2-3 record in the first half of World Cup qualifying. With the team frustratingly almost beat out to fourth place in Qualifying Group 14, failure is no longer an option for manager James Alexandre-Christopherson. Having survived the end of qualifying by the skin of his teeth, J.A.C. now needs to lead the team to something it has never managed: the knockout stages of a major competition. The Omerica manager goes into “KRYBEC” with a sword to his neck, ready to slice his head off if Omerica falls in the Cup of Harmony group stage for the third time.

Omerica is a federation of twenty-six cantons in north-western Esportiva. Sharing a long and twisting land border with Varmelle to the west and maritime borders with Nephara and Soltsteed, Omerica has historically been the land of ʻeti Takiari, an Oceanic people famed among outsiders for the near impossibility of pronouncing their language. Quickly carved up into a smorgasbord of petty states upon the arrival of Indo-European peoples, a united geopolitical entity known as “Omerica” was unheard of until the 1820’s, when mounting threats of invasion lead to the ratification of the “Treaty of Friendship and Perpetual Union” by 25 states.

The treaty established a loose confederation to deal with matters of defence and foreign policy, but quickly became racked by indecision and stagnation. With the Confederation appearing easy to prey on, the constituent states made a move towards closer union in the 1890’s, establishing a full federation known as the Commonwealth in 1895, though the isle of Soltsteed notably refused to join and decried the Commonwealth as an illegal usurper regime, though this stance was quickly given up when Omerica and Soltsteed ratified the “Treaty of Free Association” in 1910.

Modern Omerica is run as a federal parliamentary republic, with sovereignty considered to rest in the hands of the people. The Prime Minister, commonly referred to by the Takiari title of Taiʻim Taha, is the de facto leader of the country, though the executive power of the office’s holder is constrained by a powerful upper house, a pluriform multi-party system, the bounds of almost-revered constitutional law and the peculiarities of Omerica’s multi-ethnic society and federal system. Although it has had a rocky history in the country, democracy has been considered the cornerstone of Omerican governance, with the country developing a strong democratic tradition since the ratification of the Basic Law and the establishment of the Commonwealth, commonly ranking as one of the most politically and socially free and open states in the multiverse, with high rates of economic, scientific and cultural development being a point of pride for Omericans.
Roster and Formation of the Men's National Team
Les Oiseaux have historically relied on, and more or less still do rely on, the assembly of an offence that would make most teams green with envy. After a poor showing in CE12 caused the resignation of the management team, the team shifted to a 4-2-1-3 formation in games under the management of former Corona Christiana head James-Alexandre Christopherson, weakening the midfield in favour of buffing Omerica’s historically pathetic defence and designating one of the midfielders to assist the Triad in offence whenever possible.

After losing two-thirds of the Triad, namely George Kostas and Mikaere Raia, to retirement, Christopherson elected to toy with Omerica’s tactics somewhat, returning to the classic 3-4-3 in away games, while retaining a 4-2-1-3 in home matches. However, after underwhelming performances away from home, Omerica will move back to a 4-2-1-3 formation in all Cup of Harmony games, with the squad from home games largely with the lone exception of Keone Makaio, who will be replaced in the Cup of Harmony roster by Tömas de Vrikt.

Coach: James-Alexandre CHRISTOPHERSON
The former manager for Philibiscostal’s Corona Christiana, Christopherson is the lone manager in modern Omerican football to have won all three TAO Honours, holding a Federation Cup, Challenge Cup and Rakau ʻo ʻeti Toa over his four seasons with the club. Coming to the helm of the national team off La Corona’s most successful season to date, the TAO hired Christopherson after Jean-Baptiste Archambault’s resignation to spearhead the national side, but the first half of World Cup 71 qualifying put Christopherson’s future into serious doubt. Nonetheless, a Cup of Harmony invitation overcame many doubts about Christopherson’s tenure, with a historic win over Red Blackiland widely celebrated throughout Omerica before the embarrassment of the TAO’s “stray animals” gimmick during CE13, when a roster of untrained animals managed to outperform Omerica’s human players.

Assistant Manager: Ryan PRITCHARD
A long-time friend of Christopherson and the coach’s assistant at La Corona, Pritchard is said to be the eye for talent to Christopherson’s strategic acumen. Loyal to a fault to both country and Christopherson, Pritchard has long been Christopherson’s most trusted confidant and has earned him the moniker “el Rey sin Trono” (“the King without a Throne”), rather lovingly by La Corona fans and disparagingly by others, especially fans of cross-town rivals FC Kingsmouth and United Philibiscostal.

Players
Thomas Theodoridis, Karl Anglesey, Thom Barnett, George Kostas and Mikaere Raia have all gone into retirement, with Anglesey and Raia leaving the squad after the last Cup of Harmony and the rest leaving after the last Campionato Esportiva. Players numbered 1-11 are the usual starting squad and players numbered 13-25 will be available as substitutes. Players substitute position-for-position unless the team is shifting tactics due to a sending off, disastrous deficit or miraculous lead, with each starter’s designated substitute listed immediately underneath them in the roster list.

BRENECIA
Preferred Formation:
4-3-3
Style Modifier: 0
Home Stadium: Kingsgarden - recently refurbished, a 58,000 all-seater in the capital of Rozelle.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: the Patriots

Things did not go well in qualifying - not well at all. 'Devastatingly badly', in fact, would be a good description of how things went in the first half before the Patriots pulled themselves together and limped over the line to a playoff berth before being decisively beaten by Farfadillis. If there's a chance for redemption, it's going to come in the Cup of Harmony, where a good performance is needed to salvage something from the cycle. Preferably the trophy itself.

Doing decently is not optional.

Overall Record
94 wins - 51 draws - 63 losses
351 scored - 280 conceded

First Team and Tactics

Granger's open to changing her strategy for the opponent - 4-3-3 remains the formation of choice, with the style shifting for their opponents. Most of the time, the play is quick and direct, bombing the ball forward into space to make best use of the blazing speed of the forwards. Defensively, they aren't afraid to get stuck in, and prefer to quickly press their opponents to force mistakes - backing themselves to have the speed to cover the space quickly. On the whole, a physical side more than a technical one, but one that can cause any side problems.

Danielle GRANGER - 43
Manager
Appearance
A bookish-looking redhead with half-moon glasses and a severe expression.
Summary The most immediately-unpopular manager in Brenecian history, Granger faces an uphill battle to impress sceptical fans who never wanted Bardsley let go in the first place. Brought in from Rozelle United, Granger's earned a reputation as a versatile schemer. Most importantly, she is pragmatic - and with Brenecia having largely gone for the 'heroic defeat' model in past World Cups to the tune of five straight losses, this is probably what landed her the job in the first place.

Fiona SYLVER - 41
Assistant Manager
Appearance
A well-freckled ginger, 5'8" and still quite lean.
Summary A much-loved former captain of Brenecia, veteran of its ill-fated Baptism of Fire, Sylver was a calculated choice for a manager who desperately needs to earn respect. By all accounts, has a highly-refined tactical mindset as well, and took to coaching like a duck to water. Right now, though, she will almost certainly be needed to stick the squad together more than to make arrows on a chalkboard.
1 - Geneva URQUHART - 27 - Image Viztourzys Kolektyvinis
18 caps, 8 clean sheets
Appearance
Just 5'7", pointy-faced, stereotypically green-eyed and freckled ginger with short hair.
Summary A dark horse and eye-catching late riser to the challenge for the Patriots, with great reflexes and an unnerving way to get to shots no matter what. Great distribution and ability with her feet form about 90% of a complete product. The problem is that she's obviously pretty poor aerially, and she is just a little error-prone. Won her first cap in the third-place playoff of the Campionato, and is the front-runner to be Brenecia's number 1 under Granger.

12 - Sara FAIRHALL - 33 - Image North Hall
29 caps, 11 clean sheets
Appearance
A tall, strongly-built blonde, with hair cut short and close-cropped.
Summary It's unfortunate, but despite being one of precious few actual competent and reliable goalkeepers in the A-League, Fairhall was poor during the Campionato Esportiva, making a couple of high-profile errors. The veteran North Hall goalkeeper is unlikely to be the starter of choice, but while some might doubt her skill, nobody can doubt her mentality - if called upon again, she will make amends.

20 - Olenna KNIGHT - 30 - Image Kingsgrove
Uncapped
Appearance
Tall, lean and quick on her feet, with a long, angular face and long brown hair.
Summary Knight is a good and reliable shot-stopper, but her energy coming out of goal, ability to keep calm with the ball at her feet and fantastic distribution have steaded her well with Kingsgrove. Not world-class, but certainly good enough to hold down her place. Her one weak point is that she can be a little flappy when coming out for crosses.
2 - Scout GIVEN - 26 - Image Bengtsmark IF
Right-back
28 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A tall, lean and angular sandy blonde with very deep brown eyes.
Summary Given was already making her mark in the A-League as a teenager, and the step up to the leagues of Buyan has seen her grow further still as a player. Her strengths are chiefly defensive, quick feet and quick wits making her a vicious harrier, and she has the mentality to rise to any challenge. Perhaps too much of that, in fact - punching a Devontan player last qualifying cycle didn't help her prospects in Bardsley's eyes, but with a shift of manager she's looking likely to capitalise.

3 - Gerry DUFFY - 25 - Image Bellight FC
Left-back
12 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Short and scruffy. Cat-green eyes, sandy blond hair, and two sleeve tattoos.
Summary Duffy's primarily defensive skillset and incredible stamina puts him in pole position to win the wide-open race to be the new number 3 of choice for a new, more pragmatic era. Born in Nephara to Brenecian migrant parents, Duffy developed out of the Coret Hawks academy (and still has the accent), and after two seasons starting regularly in the Premiership saw him take new, bold strides as a player he was snapped up by Bellight after relegation.

5 - Orson FAULKNER (c) - 30 - Image AC Izotz Zubia
Centre-back, right-back
71 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
Weathered-looking auburn man with rough-hewn features.
Summary A heroic performer for Zozi in the LigAnaia, Faulkner's equally comfortable at centre- and rightback and could probably do a job on the left, or in defensive midfield. A daring defender who likes to step up into the midfield and play the ball, but also very capable at just sticking tight to his mark and keeping them out of the game. Probably the best defender on the team, new captain after Camden wasn't picked, and something of a goal threat, too - he scored twice from set pieces during the Campionato Esportiva.

6 - Brandon DUGUID - 24 - Image Mallox
Centre-back
19 caps, 1 goals
Appearance
Classically athletic, with short auburn hair, stubble and piercing blue eyes.
Summary A genuine prospect on a declining Kingsgrove team, Duguid surprised many by moving to Haerlighet Ligan champions Mallox. "I'm just looking for a new challenge," claimed the centreback, and the idea of helping the sleeping giant of the Cosumarite league achieve in UICA was one that appealed to him. He's a skilled centreback, not prone to mistakes and calm in possession, with a passing range one would sooner associate with a midfielder.

13 - Gretchen COLBACK - 25 - Image Lotus Park
Centre-back
5 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A lanky, rather awkward blonde. Prone to making unflattering, photoshoppable faces in the heat of the match.
Summary Might not be the obvious choice to help Brenecia's defensive woes, but Colback combines workrate and pace with the traditional virtues of strength and aerial prowess. A liability with the ball at her feet and perhaps not the cleanest tackler, but one way or another Colback generally gets the ball clear of danger. The league's most frequent fouler last season - not especially dirty, but she just tends to clatter people.

17 - Fiona BERENGER - 28 - Image Crisisbless
Right-back
66 caps, 4 goals
Appearance
A lanky, long-legged blonde. Small snake tattoo around her left wrist.
Summary An aggressive, attack-minded, nippy little fullback, used to providing width in a narrow Crisisbless side, and ideally suited to overlapping a side like this. Something of a two-trick pony with her pace and crossing, and can occasionally be suspect in defence, but adds a lot of dimension to this team.

19 - Diandra BRANAGH - 29 - Image Northern Union
Left-back
20 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
5'3", unusually hourglassy blonde.
Summary A technically-adept leftback whose first cap has been long overdue. Not the quickest, but seemingly endless reserves of stamina keep her going the distance, sprinting the whole time. Doesn't score too many, but her crosses are lethal. She's made the cut, but has a fight on her hands to claim the leftback spot as her own.

22 - Ash KILCANE - 29 - Image AC Zevella
Centre-back
24 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Tall, strong and lean, with braided auburn hair.
Summary A devilishly fast player, Kilcane's no brute, but she can more than hold her own. A player most at home hanging tightly to her mark, harrying and lashing out at them over the course of the match, and rarely caught out of position - though her single-mindedness can occasionally count against her. Has been in and around the national team for a long time without ever really stamping a leading role in it.
4 - Augustine BRETON (vc) - 31 - Image Brinemouth
Holding Midfielder
87 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A lean, tough-looking brunet with a generally severe expression.
Summary Breton has overcome criticism for club and country with a recent resurgence in form. Part of this is thanks to a reinvention under Stephen Frew - from the slow, suffocating possession-retention under Larissa Garrotte (winning him the nickname 'the Crab' among dissatisfied supporters) to quick, energetic passing. One touch to take the ball, a second to pass it, generally forwards. Keeps the team clicking, and is of course a strong anchor out of possession. The question is - how will he adapt to Granger's style of play?

8 - Diandra KILBANE - 27 - Image Crisisbless
Central Midfielder
29 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
6', angular auburn. Darting cat-green eyes.
Summary When called upon to make the step up to the Nepharim Premiership, Kilbane did not disappoint, dazzling her way into the starting XI of Crisisbless and never letting go. Has undoubtedly become a better player for the experience - not just an optimistic playmaker now, but a quick, decisive and intelligent game-winner who runs the channels and gets the ball moving forward. Will likely be the foil to the immobile Purrington.

10 - Catherine PURRINGTON - 27 - Image Wye United
Central Midfielder
67 caps, 21 goals
Appearance
A short, rather stocky, unathletic woman with a short mop of dark brown hair.
Summary Short, overweight, slow, one-footed. But what a foot. Purrington is pure technique and grace, the foil to more or less the entire rest of the team, with a touch that can be every bit as delicate or vicious as the situation demands. Contributes goals and assists by the bucket against even the strongest opposition, and is undoubtedly their best player in terms of ability, if not necessarily overall. Forms a vicious partnership with Scherzer.

14 - Cathy BLACKSLATE - 25 - Image Harmonica Tundra
Central Midfielder
5 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A tall blonde, athletically-built and with a striking face.
Summary One of the only real all-rounders in a generation, it seems, of playmakers. Blackslate's seen her share of adversity with Westpike, and surprised many with a move to midtable stragglers Harmonica Tundra - but she thrives under pressure, and loves making the difference between victory and defeat. Is she an international-quality midfielder? That remains to be seen, but it can't hurt to find out.

16 - Laura GALLOWAY - 26 - Image Rozelle
Central Midfielder
5 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Unremarkable-looking brunette, but with bright blue eyes. Bony build.
Summary A gamechanging player. Galloway's the type to belt forward as soon as she takes hold of the ball and get it moving somewhere dangerous, always looking for a killer pass. Not that she's averse to striking out on her own and getting goals, either - and she's fast, too, with a way of getting into the right positions and running into channels. At her weakest out of possession, and a poor tackler.

21 - Lilith FIFE - 27 - Image Kingsgrove
Holding Midfielder
10 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A lean, 5'2" ginger, with a once-broken nose that never really set properly.
Summary The diminutive Fife is a ferocious terrier - of course, she has the passing range one would expect of a Kingsgrove player, but just as crucial is her harrying tendencies, going right for the ankles and simply refusing to be knocked off the ball herself by anything short of a shove. A cunt.
7 - Isadora CULLEN - 28 - Image Barbury Town
Right Winger
75 caps, 20 goals
Appearance
Pale brunette with a sharp, ferretty face.
Summary A sharp, quick and intelligent winger. Some disagreed with her decision to leave Kingsgrove, where she was dazzling the (then much weaker) A-League, to join ANL high-fliers Barbury Town. Initially a squad player, she eventually fought her way into the starting lineup, though usually as a striker. Swift, technically adept, decisive at whipping in crosses and, crucially, a good finisher, Cullen has so often made the difference for Brenecia in the past - scoring, for example, their first ever World Cup goal. She will doubtless be needed again.

9 - Cheney SCHERZER - 30 - Image Wye United
Striker
85 caps, 46 goals
Appearance
Slick dark brown hair with an angular face and a prominent nose. Pin-up material.
Summary Brenecia's record goalscorer, and when he's on fire, he makes or breaks the team. That said, he scored just twice last Campionato, one interrupted by an injury (predictably, caused by the Nepharim). Scherzer's no threat aerially, but he's great with his feet, excels at quick bursts of pace and almost always finishes what he starts. The problem is he's prone to running cold - and if he isn't firing by the time of the World Cup, it could be a disaster. Still, at international level, a good ANL-quality striker is a godsend.

11 - Larissa CONNOLLY - 30 - Image Brinemouth
Left Winger
55 caps, 19 goals
Appearance
5'5", compact and muscular, with a dark brown ponytail.
Summary Starting to age now, but Connolly gets goals, no matter what. Quick enough, but it's her ability with the ball at her feet that's steaded her well in the past - she's lethal when cutting inside but a skilled crosser, too, and has a way of beating fullbacks with dazzling footwork. Can be succinctly described as the team's X-Factor, and shows a consistency that many of the fairly flaky Patriots simply never do.

15 - Sheila MADDON - 25 - Image Sabrefell Moths
Striker
12 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
A 5'5", wiry auburn with a small, round face but piercing blue eyes.
Summary With a Brenecian mother, former Nephara U-21 international Maddon came out of nowhere to land into prominence after some consistent performances in the Premiership. Insanely quick (quicker than Scherzer) she's a consistent finisher marred only by a white-hot temper and a tendency to throw off her shirt during goal celebrations. Where she lacks is physicality, though she's a little too unafraid to stick her boot in.

18 - Dani PENDRAGON - 27 - Image Northern Union
Left Winger
23 caps, 6 goals
Appearance
Average height and build, with short blonde hair and pale green eyes.
Summary A fairly conventional winger, quick and with silky technique. A product of Northern Union's academy - a side more known for buying than developing talent, but Pendragon has regularly started them since she was twenty, and the rapid, physical pace of the A-League suits her. Scored a hattrick on her debut - hasn't scored since. But if she keeps cutting open defences like she's done in the past, and always does for her club, the goals will come.

23 - Adelaide SWAIN - 26 - Image Rozelle
Right Winger
18 caps, 3 goals
Appearance
Stereotypically freckled pale ginger, with a flashy undercut hairstyle.
Summary Swain's form has been patchy for the national team - sometimes she makes the difference, sometimes she's infuriatingly invisible. Swain's one real consistent skill is to hit the ball past the fullback and run really fast after it, but whether or not she can do anything past that point is a mystery. Still, she generally creates enough chances to get in one decisive cross or shot per match - and when she's on song, she can win a match.

.Football in Arcantova.
Ever since the arrival of Europeans onto the Arcantovan mainland, football has been a national pastime. Football games were known for bringing people together but, sometimes, also tearing them apart.
Many of the major clubs of today were formed in the nineteenth century but rarely competed against each other due to long distance traveling. It wasn't until 1932 that the clubs met in Adapolf and formed the Arcantovan Alpha League. The Alpha League competes annually for the Zenith Cup which is the highest football championship in the kingdom.

Image

.Introduction.
King Darby II, before his death, began putting together a board to bring together the best players in his kingdom to play on the international scene. This was a huge step for the nation which is well known for its isolationist policies. A few people disagreed with the idea, but many couldn't wait to see the men of their football clubs on the world scene.

Debuting last World Cup qualifiers, the Matthewsianian national football team has at least the pleasure of being that one side that shouldn't, yet was there for some reason, with there being the Cup of Harmony's Second Round. The Figs might not be the best side around, nor the most stellar one, but they do pay it on having heart. A lot of heart. More Hearts than Edinburgh will ever have, if you may. Playing on yellow and purple, decked by some of the best kits this side of Meski, these Portuguese speaking wonders from Esportiva will love playing you if you feel like it. Or you could always forfeit and hands us 3 points. We won't complain, we swear.

HOME STADIUM
Estádio Nacional Rei Mateus I "Mateus Primeiro"
City: The Royal City of Matekkipper Capacity: 71,450 Hometeam: CME and Real Matekkipper
Known as the newest Stadium of the state named Capital (named that way because of Matekkipper, the country's capital), the Estádio Nacional Rei Mateus I was named after the first king of Matthewsiana, known for both his bravery and his strength. Sadly, the king died a good while ago, leaving the throne for Rei Mateus II. Needless to say, the stadium is pretty robust as a homage to its' namesake on his hey days. It's also the home of sorta-relevant Matthewsianian team CME, formed as a splinter from Rei Mateus I's favorite team, Real Matekkipper; and the actual Real Matekkipper. They end up sharing the venue as a result.

STADIUMS
All football stadiums in Abanhfleft now have seats following a mandatory upgrade in 2000, but despite this ruling, many, if not all, stadiums still allow standing spectators during matches. However, in anticipation for World Cup qualifying matches, more security forces had been hired by the authorities to make sure that there are no standing spectators in such games.

Official name: May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium
Capacity: est. 67,000
Record attendance: 72,308 (Riuwiee United vs. Wanda Island Wanderers; June 3, 2009)
Operator: Riuwiee United FC
Short history: The May 26 Stadium, originally known as Raschner Lane, and later on as Riuwiee National Stadium, was built in 1886 as a cricket ground, and it served as home for two semi-pro cricket teams before it was bought by the Riuwiee Capitals football team, which will later on become Riuwiee United. After the conclusion of the Catholic Revolution of 2008, the national government bought the controlling share of Riuwiee National Stadium and renamed it the May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium, in commemoration of the May 26 Revolution that eventually established the nation of Abanhfleft. Riuwiee United still play in the May 26 Stadium, but now it is also the chosen stadium for home games by the Fleftic national football team.

Official name: State of Wanda Island Arena
Capacity: est. 54,000
Record attendance: 59,674 (Wanda Island Wanderers vs. Malabon SC; November 15, 2012)
Operator: Wanda Island Wanderers FC
Short history: The State of Wanda Island demolished the old Wanda Island Arena in 1998 to make way for a new and improved football stadium that follows international standards. Construction began in 1999, and finished just in time for the beginning of the 2001 Premier League season. The Wanderers played in a nearby high school athletic field for the duration of the arena's construction. In 2010, when IKEA entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Wanderers, the arena was consequently called IKEA Arena for sponsorship reasons. This agreement is expected to continue until 2020, after both sides came to a six-year contract extension.

Official name: Monsanto Stadium
Capacity: est. 50,000
Record attendance: 56,555 (Arsenal de Releinthi vs. Admiral Porcusces; January 7, 2013)
Operator: FC Arsenal de Releinthi
Short history: Arsenal de Releinthi mooted moving to a new stadium ever since 1993, but it was only in 2002 that the club managed to get permission to begin construction on the site of a former landfill after disputes with the city council and land planning office. Even then, it was only after Monsanto agreed to shoulder the cost of the new stadium that it was even built, and because of this, the stadium was named Monsanto Stadium. Arsenal de Releinthi and Monsanto entered into a seven-year contract extension this year, potentially extending Monsanto's sponsorship of the club up to 2021.

Bears Armed

‘The Bear-Belles’

National football organisation: ‘Bears Armed Association for Soccer’ (= ‘BAAS’).
(Chairbear: Urra SunBlesséd [former captain, and then manager, of ‘Bear-Belles’])
National anthem (for sports): ‘The Banner Green And Gold’.
Official supporters' organisation: 'Arri's Furry Army'.

Yes, it still is an all-female team. As I’ve explained before, this is because the main ball-game that's traditionally been played in Bears Armed is actually a form of Rugby, but [for several reasons] the professional league for that sport is all-male and so some of the female players decided that switching to Soccer — and trying to establish a professional league for that sport for themselves instead — might be a viable alternative: They were right, because that professional league was founded shortly after WC44 and so has now been in operation for well over an eightSquared of years.

All of the players are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal Bears)], except for any whom I actually specify as being members of other ‘peoples’ instead. The Harr'aynau people are physically human (more-or-less, anyway, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairiness), but are spiritually & culturally Ursine instead.
According to Bears Armed’s timeline, this Cup is taking place in 2117
AD: All figures given here for people’s ages and lengths of experience are correct for that date.
Yes, this does still allow for the fact that a ‘time-loop’ meant that as far as Bears Armed was concerned the WC#66 & WC#67 cycles took place “simultaneously”.

Supervising Manager: Urra SunBlesséd [former captain, and then [during a previous period to this] manager of the ‘Bear-Belles’
(female Ursine, from the Sun Clan; played with the Belles from their Baptism of Fire onwards for a lonnng time – with her extended youthfulness eventually explained as being due to her having a TrueBear amongst her grandparents — before she became manager for the first time; called out of her retirement from professional football [during which she’s apparently been a ‘hero’ instead…] for the WC68 cycle in the hope that her guidance combined with the coaching skills of her old friend Ug-Ug will reverse the recent slide in the Belles’ fortunes; fur = honey-blonde, right-pawed)

Assistant Manager (Team) & Chief Coach: Marra SunDaughter*
(female Ursine, from the Sun Clan; played for the 'Sun Valley Smashers' [usual position = Left Forward] for 19 years in total [split into two periods, from most people’s viewpoint, because she was somehow transported forwards in time by several octades!], was the Bear-Belles’ Captain for WC44 as well as WC68-70, and has been a real star player by anybody's standards. Age = 47, left-pawed, fur = golden-brown, good eyesight even by human [rather than Ursine] standards. . An alternative version of her, who has lived through the intervening time normally [apart from being rejuvenated, by a magical accident, on one occasion] had already had a long and quite successful career as this team’s manager.)
(She is also on the team’s roster, as a potential substitute player.)

Deputy Manager (Admin): Arrannna Redsmith
(female Ursine, from the ‘Redsmith’ Free Sept; formerly Deputy Manager of Wimbley Stadiuma; appointed in preparation for the ‘qualifiers’ stage of WC71; her duties include acting as the team’s ‘routemaster’, which means handling all of their travelling arrangements; age = 38, left-pawed, fur = light reddish-brown).

Doctor: Herrath Harrn
(female Brock [i.e. anthropomorphic Badger], from the ‘Brocken Brackh’ nation; age = 54, right-pawed, fur = black & white; hired just before the start of WC65’s qualifiers.)

Physiotherapist: Tierra Smithurrs
(female Ursine, Clan = Redsmith [Free Sept] Kettar-Surra; age = 29, left-pawed, fur = reddish-brown & quite short; hired shortly before the start of WC72’s qualifiiers)

Chaplain, ‘One Plus Seven’: Mirra’a NorthStar
(female Ursine from the ‘Silver-of-Night’ Clan [and from the Northlands]; age = 37, left-pawed, fur = silvery-grey; assigned to this job, by the Great Medicine Society, just before the qualifiers for WC71; qualified as a Shabear and as a Dream-reader .)

Chaplain, Ursion: Jharge Jamms WhiteRose
(male Ursine, from Clan Redwood; age = 43, right-pawed, fur = light brown; formerly a deputy chaplain at National University (Academe), transferred to this post in preparation for the ‘qualifiers’ stage of WC71 after his predecessor here retired; he has a doctorate in Anthropology, from Miervatia University in the [human] nation of Mikitivity.)

Security Chief: Major Sheafh TrayFurr
(male Ursine, from Clan WestWoods; age =31, right-pawed, fur = blond; seconded from the Confederal Army, and has considerable experience of dealing with foreigners; just appointed to this job [with the promotion from Captain] in preparation for the ‘qualifiers’ stage of WC72.)

Caterers: Thorrntown’s Catering.

Roster
Despite their relative failure in the qualifiers for WC72, being blamed partly on Margaret as that is, the entire same squad has basically been kept together for this competition as well… but for some of them it’s their last chance…
((Versions of the three players whose names here are followed by asterisks* were in the Bear-Belles’ original line-up. I explained how they’re now here — and now “now”, too — in my WC#68 RP. All of the other players listed made their international debuts in the qualifiers for WC#68, except where specified otherwise here.)

(#1) Charra o Barrdenn* _ Clan = GreenWoods, home team = 'Barrdenn Barbariennes', 23 years experience of Soccer; age = 45, left-pawed, fur = medium brown, noted for her long reach and calm temperament.
(#13) Urrth’hrra Troutcatcher _ Clan = SeaBear, home team = ‘NorthGate Nomads', category & usual position = Goalkeeper, Soccer experience = 20 years; age = 37, left-pawed, fur = light-medium brown. Very talented, surprises some people by how often she manages to stop shots into “awkward” corners of the net.
(#15) Charrh’lhrra _ Clan = Chargh’ghrurr, home team = ‘Kingly City', category & usual position = Goalkeeper, Soccer experience = 21 years; age = 35, left-pawed/right-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & relatively long. (this is actually a pair of identical twins… but under “her” clan’s laws such a pair counts as a single person for all legal purposes and therefore can be fielded as a single player!) (There are precedents from earlier World Cups for allowing this arrangement.)

(#2) Charrah’hthrra Oldwood _ Clan = Redwood, home team = ‘Harr Burran Heroines’, category = Defender (or Midfielder), usual position = Left Back (or Midfield Left), Soccer experience = 12 years; age = 27 left-pawed, fur = dark brown. (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC72.)
(#3) Shurranna Ozt’suhl _ Clan = Ozt’suhl [Free Sept, home team = ‘Heroes’ Park Heroines', category = Defender, usual position = Right Back, Soccer experience = 24 years; age = 39, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown, on the tall side even for a [female] Ursine (@ 7’6”).
(#17) Garr’thrrie Garroon _ Clan = Herrchaum, home team = ‘Merlchester Rovers', category = Defender, preferred position = Right Back, Soccer experience = 22 years; age = 39, right-pawed, fur = light brown.

(#4) Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlessed* _ Clan = Sun, home team = ‘Sun Valley Smashers’, category = Midfielder/Defender, usual position = Lynchpin, Soccer experience = 24 years; age = 41, right-pawed, fur = ‘honey-brown’, very good eyesight even by human (rather than Ursine) standards. She is a very accurate kicker, and therefore the usual first choice for taking free kicks & penalties (unless the team-mates who were wronged in the actions that led to the penalties being awarded are given precedence, as may well happen if they're still fit enough); her nickname comes from her fur-colour, her very sweet nature, and (it must be admitted) the fact that she's a bit ‘thick’.]
(#14) Marra Fairbearrn _ Clan = Sun, home team = ‘NorthGate Nomads', category = Lynchpin/Midfielder/ Forward/Winger, preferred position = wherever she’s needed, Soccer experience = 11 years; age = 28, either-pawed, fur = white-blonde, very good eyesight even by Human standards, a bit on the small side by Ursine standards (only 6’2” tall) but makes up for this by being very agile 7 quick on her feet; demonstrated tactical ability, too. Now considered to be a potential future Captain… (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC71.)
(#20) Harr’Karramarsar Nashtarra _ Clan = Ostbora, home team = ‘Urrvan’s Avengers', category = Lynchpin/Midfielder/ Defender, preferred position = Lynchpin, Soccer experience = 9 years; Harr'aynau human[oid], age = 26, either-pawed, hair = strawberry-blonde, a bit on the tall side (@ 6’3”) for a woman by Human standards but not clumsy or slow on her feet because of this; demonstrated tactical ability, too. A rising star… (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC72.)

(#5) Marra Lightning _ Clan = Gunnar, home team = ‘Newton Arsenal', category = Midfielder, preferred position = Midfield Left, Soccer experience = 22 years; age = 38, left-pawed, fur = light brown.
(#6) Maf’hrarra LightChild _ Clan = Sun, home team = ‘Sun Valley Smashers', category = Midfielder (or Winger), usual position = Midfield Right (or Right Winger) but can also play quite well on the left instead, Soccer experience = 12 years; age = 30, left-pawed, fur = blonde; has definitely improved still further in ability over the last six years.
(#21) Charra Two-Swords _ Clan = Clouded Sun [Free Sept], home team = ‘NorthGate Nomads’, category = Midfielder, preferred position = Midfield Right (but can also play quite well on the left instead), Soccer experience = 7 years; age = 24, right-pawed, fur = strawberry-blonde, good eyesight even by Human standards, more accurate than most are at long-range passes, thinks fast on her feet. (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC72.)

(#7) Mirra Brrightness _ Clan = Sun, home team = ‘Harr Buran Heroines', category = Forward or Winger, usual position = Right Forward (but experienced and capable in any ‘Forward’ or ‘Winger’ role), Soccer experience = 21 years; age = 39, ambidextrous, fur = blonde, good eyesight, very quick on her feet, still very fit despite her chronological age.
(#10) Marra SunDaughter* _ Clan = Sun, home team = 'Sun Valley Smashers', category = Striker, usual position = Left Forward or Centre Forward or Lynchpin, Soccer experience = 26 years experience; age = 47, left-pawed, fur = golden-brown, good eyesight even by human (rather than Ursine) standards. She is the team's Chief Coach and former Captain, is still verry fit despite her age, and has been a real star player by anybody's standards.
(#11) Urrth’hrra Tall-Oaks _ Clan = Hreuh-Barra [Free Sept], home team = ‘Merlchester Rovers', category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward or Left Forward, Soccer experience = 22 years; age = 37, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown & relatively long, tall (7’6”) and solidly built but not slow.
(#23) Arrianna Thunderbolt _ Clan = Gunnar, home team = ‘Newton Arsenal', category = Forward, usual position = Left Forward (but also experienced & capable in the other ‘Forward’ roles too), Soccer experience = 10 years; age = 26, left-pawed, fur = dark brown, good eyesight, very fast. A rising star… (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC71.)
(#24) Sigg’hrry Hierra’s-daughter_ Clan = SeaBear, home team = ‘NorthPort Navigators' [recently transferred from ‘Kerne Konquerors’], category = Forward, preferred position = Left Forward, Soccer experience = 10 years; mixed ‘Grizzly’ & ‘Polar’ ancestry, age = 25, left-pawed, fur = very light brown, tall [@7’1”) and sturdy but still surprisingly fast [although perhaps not always as agile as would be desirable] anyhows. (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC72.)
(#25) Marshrra o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods, home team = ‘LakePort Lionesses', category = Forward, preferred position = Centre Forward or Left Forward, Soccer experience = 10 years; age = 24, left-pawed, fur = very dark brown; forecast to become a verrry good player but not really there yet, and probably won’t see much action except maybeso as a substitute in one or two games against low-ranked teams. (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC72.)

(#30) (postion not filled)
(#31) (postion not filled)

(#12) Irranna NorthWalker _ Clan = WildWoods, home team = ‘LakePort Lionesses', category = Winger, usual position = Left Winger, Soccer experience = 12 years; Harr’aynau humanoid, age = 29, left-footed, hair = chestnut.
(#16) Harrietta Karra o Hara _ Invisible Wabbit; Clan = BerryGlades (by adoption); home team = WideWindle Wanderers, category = Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Right Winger (' Outside Right') but has proven that she can play well on the left as well, experience = 55+ years; age = ???, ambidextrous, fur = light grey; she is INVISIBLE to most "mundane" people, but those should still be able to see the kit that she's wearing; less likely to resort to "ridiculous" trickery than might be the case in an all-Wabbit team, but still quite likely to do things like using her long ears to hold the ball in place on top of her head or running along on her hands whilst juggling the ball with her feet, both of which would of course make tackling her [within the rules] rather difficult. (WC59 was her international debut.)
(#27) Hierranna o Southwater _ Clan = SnowyPeaks, home team = ‘Merlchester Rovers', category = Winger, preferred position = Left Winger, Soccer experience = 18 years; age = 36, left-pawed, maybeso not quite as [verry] fast on her feet as she used to be but still faster than most and more makes up for that [relative] slowing in increased experience, fur = medium-brown. (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC69.)
(#32) _ Mirrath East, Clan = Urrset, home team = ‘Kingly City', category = Winger, preferred position = Right Winger, Soccer experience = 9 years; age = 27, left-pawed, fur = reddish-brown. (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC72.)

________________________________

Usual starters = #1-7, #11-12, #16, #23.
Most likely substitutes = #10 or #17, #13 or 15 (probably swapping over for alternate matches), #20-21, #24-25, #27.

Style: Offensive, modifier = +4.0… ("A good offence is the best defence"...)
Their usual formation will include a front row of at least 5 (normally arranged as 3 strikers & 2 wingers), with 2 midfielders, 2 backs, and either a ‘Defensive Centre’ (whose starting position would be at the midpoint of an imaginary cross drawn between those other four non-forwards’ positions) or a third midfielder depending on the Manager’s decision before each match.

RP injuries to my players / Godmod injuries to my players / Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too. Don’t kill anybody, or inflict injuries that would be serious enough to end careers, without checking with me & getting my approval (which is unlikely to be granted…) first.
Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose, at least as long as you do so in an AMUSING way... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are, not instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are not sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either. Please don't have them run amok or outright revert to animality, without checking by TG first, don't make assumptions about their views on politics or religion, and don't do anything that would make more than one of them incapable of playing in their next game...

________________________________

Kit: This incarnation of the team will normally wear the usual set of designs (from ‘ediraf’) that the Belles have favoured in the past, with the ‘Association’ badges correctly staying ‘BAAS’ rather than [the now obsolete] ‘BAMAS’. See "here" for details.
Bears Armed has traditionally used base-8 arithmetic, for several reasons, and this has affected the set of numbers used for this team’s players: The numbers “22”, and “26” have been left unassigned out of respect for wearers who went to their deaths as heroines during various conflicts. This was formerly the case for “10” as well, but in that case the return to play for [a version of] Marra SunDaughter — who was that number’s original wearer — has seen the return of the number [although probably still just for her use] as well.

______________________________________________________

NOTES

Ursines may tend to be a bit less agile & slower to accelerate than humans on average, but this team's members were carefully selected so the gap between them & their opponents in this respect should be narrower than some people might expect. They do tend to have [slightly] poorer eyesight than humans, on the whole (although the members of both Clan Gunnar and the Sun Clan are generally an exception to this rule, and the eyesight of the latter group is actually often at [slightly] better-than-human levels instead), so long-distance passes & shots at goal will tend to be rarer behaviour for them than they are for human teams... but their typical size & strength mean that when they're running with the ball it will probably take a very brave human — as well as a very skilled one — to tackle them successfully (or, at least, one who has reasonable experience of playing against Ursines…), which should balance that factor pretty well. They don’t jump very well, but then they’re generally rather taller than most Human players to start with so they shouldn’t need to jump as often in order to intercept [relatively] high shots...
Ursines are physically robust, of course, which means that they're much less likely than humans are to suffer injuries in falls or collisions. The females of this species are more even-tempered than the males, and the team's members will try to stay on their best behaviour not only in order to do well in this contest but also to impress upon the watching humans that Ursines aren't just "dumb beasts". They will not 'dive', or feign injury in other ways, because suggesting that they could be harmed so easily goes strongly against the grain. ‘Northlanders’ are maybe not quite as "civilised" as the 'Mainlanders'… or, at any rate, that’s the traditional stereotype..
Cold weather should pose no problem to them, even if there's snow or ice on the pitch, but tropical heat might prove awkward...

Unless our hosts at the match in question object, this team's members (including the designated substitutes for the match in question) will perform a [fairly short] ritual that's called the 'harrdiharr' on the pitch just before play begins... This is a traditional war-dance, meant to over-awe opponents, that has come to be a customary prelude for team games as well (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...). : )
As has now been seen during various tournaments, some of our fans like to take drums — and possibly also 'Urrs-horns' [which are similar to Alpenhorns, cow-horns, or other "musical instruments", too — along to the matches…

The team is accompanied by a number of sapient Ravens, who are there both to gather information about the rival sides and to provide air cover in case of hostile waterfowl.
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed

Barunia's National Football Team

Everything you ever wanted to know about Barunian Football History

Cup of Harmony 62 runner-ups, World Cup 71 quarter-finalists...the Barunian Suns were expected to go far in WC72. However, a poor end to qualifying saw them forced into the play-offs, where they were dropped by Sargossa. Now once again in the Cup of Harmony, the Suns are hoping to go one better than last time and take home the trophy.

There has been a few changes in the line up, with Ruskin scrapping the complicated formations and falling back to the tried and true 4-4-2. Martin Pike moves up from left wing to the forwards, although he'll get little game time there as second to Manzana. Lewis Black has been dropped from the side altogether, with Ricardo Del Toro moving to cover his place. Martin Bailey gets his chance to shine on the big stage as he comes in to the team - the promising young forward helped Port Newland to amass 81 goals from 30 games last season.

Team Line-up
OOC: If I RP before you, please check my RP for the start list, as I will be changing it regularly. If you RP first, or I haven't posted a start list, have a look at the formation images for the starting lists.. If you wish, feel free to make changes, as long as you swap defender for defender, midfielder for midfielder, etc, and keep the formation.

Head Coach: Joric Ruskin
Joric Ruskin played just seven international games in his footballing career, but he is still regarded as a legend in Barunian Sports. The Sun's captain during his career, Joric led them to the quarter-finals of the Baptism of Fire. In the Sun's inaugural World Cup campaign, Joric played just one game before departing the team suddenly. It later transpired that he had left to join the Socialist army in the civil war. His career as both a footballer and solider came to an abrupt end when he lost his legs in a grenade attack. Now confined to a wheelchair, the former defender for the Marion Hawks has found a new career as a football coach. His first campaign as coach saw him guide the team to their first world cup qualification (WC67), before following it up immediately with a second. While his job was in danger after the rocky campaigns of 69 and 70, the Cup of Harmony performance saw him gain a reprieve, which he seized with both hands by returning the Suns to the World Cup in 71.
NB: As is typical of football teams in Barunia, the Suns do not have a manager. The Coach is responsible for managing the team.

http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=327181 - Background.

SZAVODA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
Сзавода Фудбалски савез/Szavoda futbalový zväz

From the less glamorous end of Rushmore comes a team formed from permanently intoxicated University students, run by two divorcees with violent tendencies. With a predictable opening World Cup where they registered just two wins, although didn't finish bottom, some University players have earned their degrees and buggered off. They've been replaced, mostly by eager kids with a ton of energy, who just want to have a shot.

Management:

Co-Head Coach: Moli Dolanovic - Age: Unknown (Between 25-50)
Sexy and insane - a lethal combination. Her past-times include beating up people who cross her & beating up people who don't cross her, just to keep them on their toes. Moli possesses a shady past, and is reluctant to share with anyone, but one thing has remained the same: a passion for football. Acquired whilst working in foreign countries, Moli joined forces with Dazdan after meeting in a bar in their home city of Vfana and set up the SFA.

Co-Head Coach: Dazdan Iubirdic - Age: 45
The originator of the idea of football in Szavoda, Dazdan's life was at a low point when his wife left him, took most of his money, his child and all his skiing equipment. He'd just returned from a work posting in the icy wastelands of Svengarda and took up his dream with the mysterious Moli. Considers himself a tactical genius. Driven, passionate and perhaps going the way of crazy, Dazdan will do anything to see his dream succeed.

Physio: Dr. Janu Mazic - Age: 58
Hired specially to provide medical assistance and advice by the SFA a week before the BoF. An expert in muscle injuries, and a fan of money.

Defense Coach: Tristan Kuyter (Nephara) - Age: 43
Hired as a foreign expert to help coach the abysmally bad defence. A pretty thankless task, as the defence is more porous than a pile of sponges, but they're slowly working their way up. Doesn't quite get Moli, but hey, no one does. Credited with a significant improvement in the quality of the Szavda defence.

Playing Squad

Goalkeepers:

Nemanja Petrovic - Age: 21 - University Team: Nevograd Technical Institute
A tall, sturdy keeper with a background in handball, which gives him sharp reflexes and an eye for the ball, and one of the few players on the side who cares for football, even foregoing a handball scholarship to a different University to remain in Nevograd to play football. Prefers the 'sweeper keeper' role, although he is prone to errors when outside the box. Superb in the Baptism of Fire, keeping three clean sheets and establishing himself as the Number 1. Had to pick the ball out of the net a fair few times in the World Cup, but developed well.

Stjepan Lukic - Age: 18 - University Team: University of Kreceva
Diminutive in stature, at only 5ft 7", and bouncing full of energy. No particular sports background, just likes to get out in the fresh air and throw himself around in the mud. Prone to making rash decisions and doing perhaps unnecessary things which risk goals, much to the displeasure of his defence. Always a talkative presence behind the defensive line, even if it isn't always about football. No relation to Tim in the defence.

Defenders:

Slavko Stefanovic - Age: 21 - University Team: N/A
An apprentice plumber from Vfana, Slavko operates as a traditional full-back, prowling up and down either the left or right flank, although for the purposes of the Baptism of Fire he will play on the right. He has good pace and sharp footwork, capable of delivering swinging crosses and corners.

Radmilo Novak - Age: 18 - University: University of Central Szavoda
Good at both ends of the pitch, strong and physical in defence - which can often lead to penalties against his name -, with a smart head on his shoulders, and a real threat from set pieces down the other end. He'll always be up in the opposition box for free kicks and corners, capable of good headers. Also possesses and handy turn of pace and tackling skills to match attacking threats.

Tim Lukic - Age: 21 - University: University of Kreceva
A grizzled (if you can be grizzled at 19 years of age) centre back who takes no nonsense. Strong and powerful with the jump of a salmon, Tim is a big threat during attacking corners, but loves nothing more than to put an opposition striker on his backside. Expect plenty of colourful cards and colorful language.

Vedran Milosevic - Age: 18 - University: Pjlomak College, Vfana
A lively wing-back in the traditional mould, who can play on both flanks and switch the play very easily. Two footed and capable of sensational strikes from outside the area, Vedran is one of the teams most exciting talents, someone who, along with Branimir Milic, could actually make a career out of playing football. Grew up in a privileged household in Vfana, and was able to watch Euran football live on television, which attributes to his skill and flare.

Miles Stavic - Age: 23 - University: N/A
Almost missed the flight out because he was languishing in a jail cell after getting arrested for assault after a particularly heavy night on the town. Very aggressive and always looking for a fight, but he can back it up on the pitch with good strength and surprisingly nimble feet, who can really get under the skin of opposition players. Red carded three times during the previous qualification campaign.

Vlastimir Markovic - Age: 17 - University: N/A
A centre back who can also play on the left or the right, or in midfield, Markovic plays with high levels of energy and has good dribbling skills, which means he often likes to play the ball out of defence as opposed to hoofing the ball up the pitch, which is the traditional tactic of the team.

Nenad Nikolic - Age: 22 - University: Nevograd Technical Institute
A natural leader at the back, with a good brain on his shoulders. He is good at reading match situations, and often has to lead the defence in set pieces and the like. Reluctant to get off his feet, Nenad relies more on none-contact methods to win the ball off of opponents and keep it from them.

Midfielders

Branimir Milic - Age: 22 - Team: Moors Image
The only actually decent player in the squad, and the captain of the squad. Blessed with immense speed and wonderful close ball control, Branimir loves nothing more than to pick up the ball in the midfield and drive into the opposition penalty area. Long range shooting and vision are two more important arrows in his quiver, but he does not shirk on his defensive responsibilities, despite being a rather diminutive 5ft 7", and comes back for corners and to defend free-kicks. Milic is the beating heart of the otherwise static Szavoda team - always moving and running, trying to find space for himself and for others, whilst both on and off the ball. Following the Baptism of Fire, he was picked up by Euran Third Division club Moors. He will look to lead the team to a decent showing at their second World Cup Qualifying campaign. Showing more and more that he is a top-quality operator, but has problems executing his skills without able support from his less talented team-mates.

Pero Milovanovic - Age: 18 - University: Nevograd Technical Institute
A static distributor of the ball, Milovanovic sits in front of the back four and passes the ball out from about a 10 yard box in which he operates. Defensively astute, standing at 6ft 4", he plays often as a fifth defender by slotting in between the two central defenders. A decent attacking threat from set-pieces, too.

Damjan Dragic - Age: 25 - University: N/A
A trainee policeman, so he will so go on to become the bane of the college students who populate this team. But he's dropped the red and white police uniform and replaced it with the red and white of the national football team. A wide player with good pace and the ability to swing in crosses make him a threat on either side of the pitch.

Nemanja Radic - Age: 19 - University: N/A
An apprentice electrician, although how much work or training he is doing is questionable. Another in the mould of the young, energetic player who doesn't have much of a clue of the technical side of the game. Plays a central midfielder, but tends to rove all over the pitch, mostly following the ball with hot-headed enthusiasm. Possesses decent pace as well.

Isijia Jovanovic - Age: 21 - University: Josef Milanic Institute, Nevograd
Varies between magic and ordinary, often serving up healthy portions of both during the span of a 90 minute game. He can get the ball at his feet and within seconds be running rings around opposition defenders, but then only minutes later he can slice a simple pass into no-man's land for an opposition player to run onto and score.

Domenic Marsejevic - Age: 22 - University: University of Kreceva
Your no-nonsense, hard-hitting central midfielder who lacks the glamour and guile of players like Milic and Jovanovic, but has a canny knowledge of the game and can get himself in good positions both in attack and defence. Chips in with the odd assist and goal as well, which comes in handy.

Stefan Petrovic - Age: 20 - University: University of Central Szavoda
Young and full of energy, he always wants to be on the ball and to unfurl his various tricks which he has learned off of Branimir Milic. Sometimes they come off, which looks nice, but most of the time he's left chasing after an opposition defender who's stolen the ball off of him, which as made him quite fast and strong.

Ljuban Zoric - Age: 24 - University: N/A
Lived overseas for the majority of his life, he experienced football first hand, even playing youth grade football until he upped sticks and returned to the Glorious Motherland. He works as a waiter in a Vfana restaurant, and had to take time off work to play in the competition. He is a rare breed of midfielder who strives to get forward and score goals, and specialises in the spectacular.

Javor Ilic - Age: 18 - University: Kadlec University
A sprightly attacking midfielder with quick feet and and good eye for goal. Operates well behind the two front men as a good distributor of the ball, known for his cutting through balls which split the defence and allow Nikazic and co. to nip in behind. Takes free-kicks from around the box and corners on the left hand side. Second penalty taker after Milic.

Strikers

Mijo Nikazic - Age: 20 - University: Kadlec University
The pinpoint of Szavoda's count-attacking philosophy, Nikazic is small and very, very fast. He can go from a standing start to full pace in a matter of seconds, which makes him absolutely lethal on the break. His size allows him to squeeze past defenders in the box and he has shot placement to match any international striker. A real talent in a side that lacks, well, talent.

Zar Mihailovic - Age: 25 - Team: Arsenal de Releinthi (Abanhfleft)
The living epitome of the word 'target-man' - he's big, strong and knows where the goal is. Outside the penalty area, he's about as effective as a chocolate tea-pot, but inside, he only needs a yard to beat the keeper. He acts as a good foil against the small Nikazic, and together two the make a decent strike partnership.

Simon Filipovic - Age: 20 - University: Nevograd Technical Institute
A good striker with good finishing, but lacks the pace of Nikazic and the strength of Mihailovic, so finds himself as a third wheel in the strike team, and often takes his place on the bench. But that's not to say that he can't score goals or prove a threat to the opposition. He has good spacial awareness and is decent off either boot. One for the future, perhaps.

Home Stadium: Lot 37 (Official Capacity: 0)
Situated in a run-down industrial park on the outskirts of Vfana in southern Szavoda, Lot 37 is just a patch of scrubland with grass laid down in patches and white lines hastily painted on. There are no seats, so opposition fans, should they come, are advised to bring their own seating. There are plans in the pipeline to lay down an artificial surface, so it doesn't cut up in Szavoda's adverse weather conditions, as well as some temporary seating for the bigger fixtures, but as with all pipelines in Szavoda, it's leaky and full of holes.

Qualification: Qualification did not go well for Patistan, even though they did have a strong start after losing heroically to Nephara 2-1 and then drawing with Yttribia 2-2 things did look upwards but then losses to United RussoAsia and Paymina hampered their hopes of reaching the playoffs for the first time. Coach John Grigia though was content with the teams performance and was happy with how they fared in a tough group. Invitation to the CoH was a pleasant surprise for him and he promised to lead Patistan as far they can even tough it's the teams first CoH and they are ranked as one of the lowest teams in the competition. Ranking which were revealed after qualification show that Patistan have moved up 7 places from 86 to 79, their highest ever ranking and a good performance in the CoH can only improve their ranks, right? I guess I'm right :P.

THE COMMONWEALTH OF THE FALLENMARK ISLANDS ROSTER FOR CUP OF HARMONY 64
Nation Name: The Commonwealth of The Fallenmark Islands
(Though for short simply Fallenmark - the geographical name of the archipelago - is perfectly acceptable; provided you don't mind offending the autonomous nation of Cairnskillen. After Cairnskillen's independence from the Commonwealth was made official, the politically correct name for the combined archipelago they share is 'Lesser Valhalla', but you're unlikely to see many Fallenmark call it that colloquially.)

All details correct going into the start of World Cup 72 Qualifying.

STAFF:
Manager: Alexsandr van Sorensen (PIS), 47
Record in Charge: P 55, W 18, D 7, L 30, GF 95, GA 115, GD -20, WP 33%
A legend in Polarian football, Alexsandr van Sorensen led his country at two World Cup finals before whilst captain, and later moved into coaching and the assistant manager's position at childhood club Jan Mayen Islanders. It would have had to have been a big job to tempt him away from the Ospreys, and so it was, as fellow Valhallan Union nation The Fallenmark Islands surveyed their options and invited van Sorensen to cut his teeth at management with them. He brings with him a mind bent on attacking football, a whole host of Baptism of Fire and international experience, as well as the best contacts a man can bring. Widely considered to be the best player to have ever pulled on the famous Terns jersey, for whom he'll likely be the record caps-holder forever, Alexsandr now has the perfect opportunity to become a legend in another Valhallan nation. Suffers from rare brain condition synaesthesia, which means his senses get all mixed up and confused in his head. However, he appears to have turned this into an advantage on the pitch, and in the dugout. Things almost got off to the perfect start at the Baptism of Fire, with the Herons becoming the latest VU side to finish as runners-up, but things weren't quite so good in qualifying as the team struggled badly and only picked up five points overall - four of which came in their last two games. Things have gotten better since though, and a goal difference of only -20 after fifty-five games shows that things are on the cusp of changing for the better. The challenge now for van Sorensen is to push this experienced group of players into that top half of the qualifying group. Minnows no longer, the Herons want to be official trouble-makers.

Assistant Manager: Dietar Eygenroy (BLK), 53
A Blockhead with a history of being a keen disciplinarian, Eygenroy matches van Sorensen in being the captain of his national side at international level. In fact, with the lack of Bleak Rock representation in international football these days, Eygenroy's presence as assistant manager convinced a couple of the Blockheads with Fallenmark ties in the squad to switch allegiance to the Commonwealth. A hard-nosed defensive midfielder in his day, Eygenroy has plenty of experience dealing with defensive coaching and unusual formations, so his presence will be key to complementing and filling the gaps in van Sorensen's otherwise attacking focus. Both will be missed by Jan Mayen Islanders.

Coach: Mikkel Kovalyov, 52
Coach: Eyvindur Ramberg, 61
The Fallenmark connection in the coaching team comes from Kovalyov and Ramberg, who have been brought in from Marylebone Invicta and Marylebone Esprit respectively, primarily to work on fitness and conditioning.

PLAYERS:
#1 - GLK - Karl Pfennig - Age 33 - Olympique Beaudette (SCT) - 40 Caps
- Calm, trusted, and one of the best players in the Minor Valhallan Premier until his move to Sicoutimont. Tall and confident in the air.

#2 - DEF - Niko Aamot - Age 30 - FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla (PIS) - 43 Caps, 3 Goals
- Staggeringly tall and strong, Aamot has been snapped up by the Flotilla and more than holds his own in the competitive Divisjon One.

#3 - DEF - Guðvarður Mogensen - Age 26 - Canterlot Royals (EQS) - 21 Caps
- One of the young hopes for the future of Fallenmark football, Canterlot Royals and van Sorensen are placing a lot of faith in him.

#4 - DEF - Willem Moss - Age 32 - Cóndor-Valladares FC (SJG) - 41 Caps, 3 Assists, 2 Goals
- Moss drew widespread admiration for his performances for Kieslen Bridge, and has since got that big money move abroad.

#5 - LIB - Eero Darmstadt - Age 33 - FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla (PIS) - 52 Caps, 11 Assists, 8 Goals- CAPTAIN
- The first name on many a scout's wishlist after his performances in the BoF, Darmstadt's solidity, leadership, and creativity are key to the side. A born winner.

#6 - MID - Luc Tikkanen - Age 30 - Alianza FC (SJG) - 41 Caps, 3 Assists, 1 Goal
- The utility man in the middle, Tikkanen's role will be to keep things tidy and keep things simple. An enforcer if required to be.

#7 - MID - Reuben Ness - Age 32 - SC Kiel (PIS) - 43 Caps, 12 Assists, 6 Goals - Vice-Captain
- A veteran of Divisjon One, Ness had never been called up for the Terns and so accepted the call from van Sorensen without looking back.

#8 - MID - Aberdeen Salt - Age 26 - Marylebone Esprit (TFI) - 16 Caps, 1 Assist, 1 Goal
- Coming in as one of only three domestically based players in the squad, Salt is a midfielder with a growing reputation for attacking from deep.

#9 - FWD - Niko Kekkonen - Age 29 - Krsthaven (SEM) - 26 Caps, 5 Assists, 5 Goals
- Kekkonen is a dead ball expert and has tricks and flicks to spare. Not quite so good when tracking back but he's a natural up front.

#10 - FWD - Klaus Just - Age 33 - FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls (PIS) - 46 Caps, 13 Assists, 7 Goals
- Another player previously thought of as Polarian, Just's father's place of birth means this experienced attacker can feature here.

#11 - FWD - Eiríkur Beyer - Age 28 - FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla (PIS) - 53 Caps, 16 Assists, 23 Goals
- Fallenmark football's big hope for the future. Technically gifted and with a great strike, Beyer is the poster boy of the team and the third of the Bjarnarey-based trio.

~

#12 - GLK - Ruslan Korpelainen - Age 29 - Grimsby Town FC (DRV) - 8 Caps
- A surprise transfer to Bleak Rock has been followed by a surprise trip to Grimsby Town in Darvale - both have developed him as a player.

#13 - GLK - Martijn Bershadensky - Age 25 - Eretium AC (WBL) - 7 Caps
- Bershadensky's age conceals an experienced and talented goalkeeper with a big future ahead of him.

#14 - MID - Edvard Oistrakh - Age 21 - FF Berafjörðinn (BLK) - Uncapped
- With a few whispers that he might be the next player in the Darmstadt shape, much is hoped for from young Oistrakh.

#15 - DEF - Klaus Minkowski - Age 33 - Cassandra City (COS) - 28 Caps, 2 Assists
- A roaming defender with an eye for goal from set pieces, Minkowski was simply too good to settle for Auchtenmill's delights, and now plays in Cosumar.

#16 - DEF - Torre Alm - age 24 - Gunnmarket (TFI) - Uncapped
- Versatile and pacy, Alm's performances as captain of Gunnmarket have led him to a well deserved call-up to the national side.

#17 - MID - Oleg Urness - Age 31 - April 7 FC (OAM) - 24 Caps, 1 Assist, 1 Goal
- Never stops running and will never stop chasing what other people would consider a lost cause, Urness is as dependable as they come.

#18 - FWD - Artemiusz Vyrubova - Age 34 - Goteborg FF (FLX) - 28 Caps, 3 Assists, 2 Goals
- A resident of Marylebone until his move to Felix, Artemiusz is a versatile and talented wide right with a fierce shot.

#19 - FWD - Gustaf Graz - Age 23 - Chatswood (NPH) - Uncapped
- An exciting talent who moved to Nephara from PVTCo, Graz is a hard-working wide attacker with eyes on Klaus Just's spot in the XI.

#20 - FWD - Arnljótur Juran - Age 32 - Hornchurch (EUR) - 36 Caps, 3 Assists, 9 Goals
- A little annoyed to have missed out on the starting spot to Kekkonen following Dafinnursson's retirement, Juran is looking to prove a point.

#21 - MID - Jonatan Klein - Age 20 - SK Aasiaat Harbour (PIS) - Uncapped
- Discovered in the Aasiaat youth team, a hard-hitting midfielder who declined Polarian call-ups to remain eligible for the Herons.

#22 - DEF - Nikolai Haavikko - Age 27 - Marylebone Invicta (TFI) - 18 Caps
- Already a fan favourite at Invicta thanks to his unrestrained passion for the club, Haavikko could well be around for a long time.

#23 - DEF - Gunnar Kristensen - Age 28 - FF Berafjörðinn (BLK) - 14 Caps, 1 Assist
- A series of impressive cameos in the cup competitions soon lead to this talented defender becoming a fixture in his club's backline.

TACTICS: "The Orion" 1-3-3-3
A student of the game, Alexsandr van Sorensen has gone back as far as the successful tactics used by Anders Laursen for SK Franz Josef City, way back in the 1950s, for his tactical inspiration. Drawing on the best traditions of Valhallan attacking football, the line-up aims to utilise attacking wide defenders when in possession, and a centrally based libero, Darmstadt, to swiftly turn defence into attack, whilst keeping things tight at the back thanks to the dropping presence of Salt. The lop sided trio in midfield that gives the formation its nickname will aim to retain the ball, whilst Kekkonen will receive lots of support up front from the wing-attackers Beyer and Just, the latter of whom drops back to keep the three-man midfield when the opposition have the ball and Salt is already falling back to sit alongside Darmstadt. Darmstadt's lungbusting free role makes it a difficult formation to write down numerically - even as a 1-3-3-3 - but if you think of it as a 3-4-3 in attack and a 5-3-1-1 in defence then that's a good start.

Team info

Generally it is a standard looking Barry Gorman squad, which makes its way to this year's Cup of Harmony. The manager has resisted the temptation to switch things around despite the very flat qualification form

John McCann, Paul Coine and Lachlan Frazer all disappear from the squad that made hard work of the qualification campaign. Seeded third in their group, Schottia managed to consolidate that position. However in a somewhat laboured performance, they could only manage to limp over the finish line, ending up well behind Chiata in second. Despite the largely unspectacular showing from the White and Greens, there were a few oasis of hope, and signs of new growth.

Chloe Rudden again continued to impress, as the teenager begins to take the game by storm. The North Laithland wonderkid, scored three as she helped to lift some of the gloom felt by the fans. Also Thio Crillin looks to have taken steps towards establishing himself in the first team. Now playing in the Cenian League, he was able to provide some much needed grit when Schottia found their backs to the walls.

Only a strong tournament here in Krytenia and Québec will be able to save Gorman's job, with the media already applying huge amounts of pressure for the 47-year-old to be sacked. That combined with a long list of willing replacments already forming a queue for his position, means that this may be the last we see of the man who has taken Schottia from total obscurity to a top 70 side.

Coming into an otherwise settled back five is BW Pallstadt's Larry Watt. The player who impressed us so much with Marionville and in his time in the U-21's is finally given his chance to star alongside Messrs Hanlon, Okywä , and O'Brian. Watt and O'Brian will marshal the right and left wings respectively, looking to get forward and support the attack whenever the opportunity presents itself. The central-defensive partnership of Darren Hanlon and Chris Okywä will likely remain intact, with Hanlon's technical ability a good foil for the Soessch man's pace and strength. The hopefully solid defensive line is completed by team captain Lucas D'Araby, who brings some experience, as well as a dependable pair of gloves between the sticks.

In the case of injuries, suspensions, or a drop in form, Gorman may look the versatile Jack Gordon, and Holin's Chris Jack to fill in.

The midfield will be anchored yet again by Fadrön Flight's Jon Fotan, and depending on dips in form, the towering figure of Gary Corsie. Fotan is the deep sitting playmaker, and last line of defence, while Corsie will do much of the fetching and caring, looking to break up the play. In front of them Kim Coultan Eoin Killanen and Gaston Avelione will combine to give Schottia an attacking emphasis. All three of them, but particularly Avelione, have an eye for goal. Killanen brings a raw physicality, combined with some more subtle technique. Coultan is a two-footed, cultured midfielder, who despite her tender age has the ability to stamp her authority on the game. Finally Avelione provides the main goal threat in the side, and as the top goal scorer in three cycles now, he will yet again be the one to watch.

On the bench Gorman is spoiled for choice this cycle. The manager can look to the likes of Seggerson, Crillin, and Mark Kelman for the central spots. Along with wingers such as Joey Bia, Craig O'Maramy, and Chloe Rudden should he want to change things about.

Spearheading the attack will be FC Hill Valley's Mark Allen. The powerful striker might be upfront alone, however, he will get no shortage of support from the three advanced midfielders, as Schottia will look to attack at every opportunity.

There is also a very capable replacement on the Soessch's Bruno Schwartz has scored goals at international level, and will be on hand should he be required. Coultan and Rudden can also fill in up front.

The kits for this cycle have been designed by AER Sportswear of Gloriax, replacing the previous strip worn in World Cups 69 and 70. This new design has got replica shirt sales rocketing, featuring a predominantly black away strip for the first time.

Squad
The starting line up displayed here is probably the most likely eleven to play, however, if you are PRing feel free to read the player descriptions and make a few changes. Also you can check my most recent post in the RP tread to get some more up to date information.

1. GK Lucas D'Araby, 32 Image Handon United Height:190cm Weight:84kg (c)
One of Schottia's problems in past tournaments has been the defensive lapses, however, none of this could be blamed on team captain D'Araby. Since joining Handon United as a youngster, he has become one of the country's most decorated players. Big, Strong, and dependable between the sticks, he is one of the players in this side who is a certainty to start. There is no one on the team for whom qualification would mean more to than the experienced keeper.

15. RB Larry Watt, 22, Image Blau-Weiss Pallstadt, Height: 180cm. Weight: 75kg
Following a big move to Buyanese team BW Pallstadt, Watt has gone on to establish himself as a first team player for Schottia. He earned the move, following a series of excellent performances for both his old club Marionville, and the DBC winning Schottia side. He is a good all-round right back, fast and strong, and more than able to bring the ball forward to join the attack. He is widely regarded as the player who will occupy the wing back slot for many years to come.

3. LB Darren O'Brian, 24, Image King's Park Height:178cm Weight:71kg
Following a highly disappointing season at Kings Park, where the club failed to finish in the top six of the SPL for the first time in eight years, O'Brian will be desperate to prove himself. He has been in the senior set-up in Schottia for five years now, and despite being a left-winger, he has made the left-back position his own. There have been a few well-documented cases, where he has slipped up defensively, however he makes up for it with his attacking skill. His pace and ability to support the forward players, is crucial to how Schottia play.

22. CB Darren Hanlon, 23, Image VfB Brandenberg Height:188cm Weight:84kg
A former Schottia U-23s captain, his breakthrough into the first team would have come as no surprise to many of the fans. Boasting a wealth of technical ability, and still young for centre-back, Hanlon has been an important player for VfB Brandenberg since signing for the Vyrsarian club. This is now his second cycle in the Schottic starting line-up, and many will be expecting this to be his tournament.

5. CB Chris Okywä, 28, Image Soessch Height:183cm Weight:84kg
Fast becoming one of the elder statesmen of a squad increasingly swelling with young talent, Okywä is an important player for Barry Gorman. Second now only behind D'Araby in the starting line up in terms of caps, he brings valuable knowledge to the side. Although occasionally a bit of a bomb-scare at the back Okywä's strength and athleticism are not to be messed with. He is often regarded as the joker of the team, and is very popular in the dressing room.

6. CM Gary Corsie, 23, Image Fineberg Flockers (On loan at Image Marrionville) Height:190cm Weight:80kg
Corsie is a player with the ability to blow hot or cold. On his day, the Marionville man is one of the best players in the side, however he has been pulled up by sections of the press for a "stinking attitude." On a good day the 15 million pounds midfielder is a box-to-box player, with strength and stamina to match even the top players in the world. However, on a bad day he is lazy, seems unwilling, and as good as a man down. He recaptured some form last season, back on-loan at his hometown club Marionville. Corsie had previously been forced to put his contract with Edomite side the Fineberg Flockers on hold following the outbreak of a civil war.

11. CM Jon Fotan, 24, Image Fadron Flight Height:177cm Weight: 80kg
Now established in the Taeshani League with Fadrön Flight, the 24-year-old is one of the higher profile players in the squad. His form with New Belfast Warriors won him much praise in the media, as well as a vast amount of caps for his country at a young age. After gaining most of his caps playing on the left, he is now back in his preferred position of central-midfield, where he runs the show in this side. Fotan is a great passer of the ball, and is trusted with the set-piece responsibilities. He also has an incredible shot on him, matched only in the side by Gaston Avelione.

10. AML Gaston Avelione, 29, Image Handon United Height:195cm Weight: 84kg
Avelione is the player everyone in the squad looks for to produce something special when required. His goals and assists have been a major factor in Schottia's rise up the world ranking in the last few cycles. It's no secret how highly manager Barry Gorman rates the Handon United man, putting his faith in him time and time again. With pressure mounting on Gorman to make the play-offs this time round, he will be praying his faith is rewarded. The North Islander, is blessed with incredible pace and skill, he also has the ability to score form almost any angle around the 18-yard-box. Avelione has been the team's top goals scorer in the last three sets of qualifiers.

18. FC/A/CM Kim Coultan, 20, Image Jottnar Kallsmudden Height:160cm Weight:52kg
From the fringes of a side in the second tier of Schottic football to one of the stars of the side, which finished third in the Buyanese Top League. Coultan's journey over the last two years of her life has been a rags to riches story. The 20-year-old DBC winner became the first woman to play for the senior team when she was capped in the Cup of Harmony two years ago, and has since gone on to establish herself in the first team. Small in stature even in terms of the other female players, Coultan relies on speed and agility to out-fox the opposition. Good on either foot, she is best known for her crisp, one touch passing and her goal scoring abilities.

19. AMRLC Eoin Killanen, 21, Image FC Zurich Height:176cm Weight:70kg
Now really coming of age, Schottia's DBC winning captain is one of the out and out stars of this World Cup Qualifying squad. The FC Zurich man was outstanding as his side lifted the title in Starblaydia, and has since replicated that form for the national team. The former Lammerton wonderkid has in the past been accused of being too selfish, however, this is something he has worked had to rectify. Killanen is similar to Coultan, in that he can play anywhere in the midfield. That said, he is perhaps more comfortable just behind the striker, where he can get more opportunities on goal.

21. FC Mark Allen, 25, Image FC Hill Valley Height:191cm Weight: 81kg
It has been a hard battle for the Hill Valley man to establish himself as the number one choice in the coveted loan-striker role. The former Port Sebastian man was the Schottic League's top scorer before he departed for the Adiran club. If he is sometimes accused of being lazy and reluctant to chase back, he makes up for it with his strike capability, and vision in front of goal. He has been the preferred man up-front for two seasons now, but failure to qualify again, may see pressure begin to mount.

Substitutes

13. GK Chris Gonzaö, 24, Image Port Sebastian Height:202cm Weight:85kg
The Port Sebastian 24-year-old has been forced to bide his time, in his long stint as understudy to D'Araby. Despite performing will in the occasional friendly match, it has been impossible of him to force his way into the first team reckonings. More that capable when called upon, there is little doubt that he will be a suitable long-term replacement when the time comes. In the meantime at least he gets a good view of the matches from the bench.

14. CB. Gareth Souter, 19 Image Sporting Cenial Height: 188cm. Weight: 79kg
Since making his debut for Handon United aged 18, there has been a feeling that Souter could be a special player. After leaving the club to join up with Cenian side Sporting Cenial, he has impressed Barry Gorman with a string of good performances. He helped his club to fourth in the league last season, and was named fourth best defender in the league in the process. Souter is a strong player, who takes the game very seriously. He has a good footballing ability and is comfortable on the ball, meaning he can play in midfield if called upon.

2. RB Jack Gordon, 31, Image Handon United Height:181cm Weight:73kg
A versatile and highly adaptable defender, Jack Gordon has been an important player for Schottia in their rise up the world rankings. The Handon United full-back can play either side of defence and can fill in at centre-back if required. He is a good solid option at the back, and has the pace to get forward and support the attack.

16. R/LB Jenna Koemann, 24, Image Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies, Height: 170cm. Weight: 68kg
Looking to become woman-number-three to receive a cap for her country, Koemann will provide cover for the left wing back position. The 24-year-old, who plays in the Fleftic League is no stranger to international set-up. She featured for the Schottic Woman's side, which reached the quarter finals of the last Olympic games, and has been called up to the DBC squad. Koemann left MPL side Cornellians to join Ludogorets Markovsky two seasons ago, in a bid to get regular first team football.

24. RLD/M Chris Jack, 23, Image Hollin Height:186cm Weight: 80kg
Jack's main attribute is his versatility. The Holin wide-man can play right or left, defence or midfield, making him a great option on the bench. He is most likely to feature at right-back however, and will compete with Larry Watt for the starting berth. Jack is a good natural winger, who is more than capable of playing at this level, however, he probably needs to a bigger club to further his career.

23. RM Craig O'Maramy, 22, Image New Belfast Warriors Height:177cm Weight: 62kg
Craig O'Maramy has been absolutely outstanding for New Belfast Warriors this season, helping them lift the Schottic title. A Di Bradini Cup winner, he more than has the ability to come on and make a difference for his country. Although he faces stiff competition for the right midfield role, his flat out pace is something that none of the other players can offer. At the outset of the tournament he looks set to be just behind former U-21s teammates Coultan and Killanen in the pecking order, but this may change.

7. AMR Jonathan Bia, 18, Image Port Sebastian Height:170cm Weight:72kg
Despite his tender years, Bia has already established himself as a valuable member of the Shottia team. A big player for his club Port Sebastian, he was part of the same title wining side as Corsie, Coine, and Allen. He is a left footed right-winger who always looks to get forward and help out the forwards. He will no doubt appear a far bit during world cup 72, and he represents a more attacking option coming off the bench.

25. CM Thio Crillin, 23 Image Myrmidon Height: 188cm. Weight: 88kg
Since joining Cenian side Myrmidon just before the last world cup, the DBC winner has gone from strength to strength. The former Holin man has helped his side to second in their domestic league, scoring his fair share of goals in the process. A highly rated central-midfielder, he adds to his manager's headache, as Gorman is forced to chose between five good players for the same two places. Crillin has always made a name for himself has being something of a no nonsense player. He is likely to be brought on when Schottia are looking to steady the ship.

8. CM Mark Kelman, 25, Image Cornellians FC Height:181cm Weight:76kg
It has been a long journey for Mark Kelman, in his quest to realise his early potential and win a senior cap. After starting his career at Handon United, he failed to force his way into the first team and had to look else where for a regular slot. After three good seasons with Port James Athletic he won much acclaim and was signed by Cornellians for the inaugural MPL tournament. Since joining the Eagles, Kelman has won the MPL Cup along with helping his side to second and third in the league respectively. Kelman is a great all-rounder, a solid midfielder, who combines the fetching and carrying side of the game with an attacking impetus.

17. CM Alfred Seggerson, 25, Image Handon United Height:181cm Weight:79kg
Alf Seggerson has made a big impression so far, playing for his adopted nation Schottia. The skilful attacking midfielder, who has been signed for Handon United since he was sixteen, was granted a Schottic passport just before the last World Cup. Since joining from Kloithian side Amothsborg Fishermen, he has established himself as one of the leagues top players, and takes the free kicks for his club. Gorman seems to see him just behind Fotan and Corsie in the pecking order, much to the annoyance of some fans, who would like to see him in a regular starting role.

12. LM/F Chloe Rudden, 18, Image North Laithland Height:172cm Weight:60kg
Chloe Rudden set the Women's Super-League alight in Schottia with her pace, skill and goal scoring. The Jet-heeled winger was so impressive that she won a move to North Laithland in Nephara. If the charismatic teenager is able to take her scoring form at youth level into the senior set-up then she will be a massive hit with the fans. Picking up two caps in the last Cup of Harmony, she became the second woman to play for her country. She is most likely to be brought on late in the game, when her pace can trouble the opposition's tired legs.

9. FC Bruno Schwartz, 27, Image Soessch Height:191cm Weight:85kg
Like Coine he is famed for his work rate, and his great hold-up play with his back to goal. Schwartz is an old fashioned number nine, who is strong in the air, quick across the ground, and dangerous in the 18-yard-box. The FC Soessch player generally shares the striking responsibilities with Mark Allen. The only criticism brought against Bruno Schwartz is that he needs to add more goals to his game at international level.

-------------------------------

Formation and tactics

Image

Barry Gorman will no doubt go into the tournament with the same attacking mentality as world cups 69, 70, and 71.

Schottia are a very fast, physical side, who play a direct form of counter attacking football. Neither winger normally operates on their natural side, and therefore they often take up more central positions to cut in and shoot. For this reason the team relies heavily on attacking wing-backs to contribute width to the team. This usually means Schottia are a tricky side to defend against, however, it can lead to them being caught out at the back. The job of the two central midfielder is to protect the back four when their side is under pressure, but also to act as an outlet, using strong running or accurate passing to get the team out of danger. Schottia's three attacking midfielders all like to shoot from distance, so the loan striker has to be alert and quick enough to feed off the scraps provided from deflections and bodged clearances.

The Gators

After an impressive improvement in their second World Cup Qualifying record, the Gators are ready to win some more. Rumors were abound that manager Burnie O'nielle would not be coming back, but it seems the National Association of Walkany Football are giving him another chance. Their first and previous Cup of Harmony record was three straight losses, though many of the fans believed that was mostly because of the intimidation of having to play Buyan for their second game. After impressive performances during the Qualifiers, the team will be hoping to also achieve a few wins and try to qualify into the knockout stage.

With the exact squad from the Qualifiers, the Gators' opposition can expect to see nothing new, though O'nielle hinted in a press conference that he would be trying to switch it up a bit. Many fans are hoping to see Leones Cleens' goal scoring record soar ever higher, though others want his counter part, Harve Ferro, to get some playing time as well. In Warsene Aenger's words, a rumored candidate for the new team manager, "The team cannot rely on one man to score their goals. Sure, others score, but Cleen has more than triple what their second placed goal scorer has." Fans all over social media agreed with him. Many called for Harve Ferro to start and even a page on the Gators' fan site has been opened supporting Harve Ferro and his unused and/or non-called up teammates. With tensions increasing between O'nielle and the fans, it looks like if he does not qualify into the knockout stage with a "star man" squad, he may be leaving for good.

Jurgen Coeman:Jurgen is a young, but dependable player. He is a good leader and is capable of firing his team up in even the darkest of moments. His athleticism gives him a great advantage over the other keepers.

Daniel De Hayu:Daniel is one of the best goal keepers Walkany has ever produced. Inexperience is the only thing that has kept him from starting for the national team. His friendly and outgoing attitude makes him a good teammate. After receiving pointers from Coeman, he is even becoming a strong leader.

Rosendo Tugwell:This man is almost solely responsible for gaining Whitebasin United promotion to the Super Liga. His acrobatic saves combined with his sweeper-keeper abilities make him one of the better players in Walkany.

Mark de Man:Mark is a strong center back. Strength is his greatest attribute. Combined with his short, stocky build, he can prove very difficult to fight off. Sometimes this can be dangerous for the younger, inexperienced players.

Fil Gones:Fil is one of the most intelligent defenders in Walkany. He is capable of reading movements before they happen, giving him time to compensate for faster paced players. He is not one of the most physically fit players, though his height gives him an advantage in the air.

Pep Pep Guardiola:Pep Pep or known to his teammates as Bergmann (mountain man), is mostly known for his massive beard and long black hair. He is considered one of the best full backs in the nation. Bergmann's speed combined with his intimidation makes him one of the most daunting defenders to play against.

Luke Poloski:Poloski has it all. Speed, strength, skill, and looks. His only downfall is his over estimation of his abilities against stronger opponents, causing many mistakes during games. He becomes angry quickly when fouled or having a foul called on him, but makes up for it. He knows, even though he does not show it, that he can be better. It takes a good talking to from the referee or coach, but he can straighten up and be one of the best.

Ray Haywood:The younger brother to Michael Haywood, he followed in his brother's footsteps to becoming a top selection for the national team. He has often been accused of being lazy. This is true in some aspect. Ray was on top of his game until Walkany City gained more than a one goal lead. He becomes lazy when the team is doing well, causing mistakes in the defensive line. His eye for figuring out another team's tactics early on is invaluable to the coaches and players.

Oliver Gourde:Oliver's cool head and firm leadership makes him one of the best choices for the national team. His defensive capabilities are the only skill he has though. He is attacking savvy during corners and free kicks, but lacks prowess during open play.

Bane Vayder:The 6'6" defender is known as one of the most intimidating players on Shells FC. His dark, brooding attitude and his giant muscular fixture causes some Liga players to lose the ball rather than challenge him for it. Bane's only fault is that despite his great defensive capability, he will foul players often and intentionally.

Elwood Sebastiani:As one of the first players to play outside of Walkany, "Elly" has done considerably well. He plays for the Zlatan Landish team Northern Knights, which has won almost every league game this past season thanks to him. As a defender and club captain, Elly brought the Knight's defense to be the best. It is no wonder that he was called up to the national team.

Lucas Shawn:Lucas is a young, but extraordinary player. He is equally experienced in both attacking and defending. His only fault is that he cannot win air balls. He is only 5'9", with little jump height. Shawn's personality is a bit of a joker. He is like the jester of the team, always playing good hearted jokes on his teammates.

David Lucius:Tall and lanky, David is the second tallest player on the team at 6'5". Combined with his height is his dribbling ability. He often makes loping runs forwards, opening up space in and around the box. Though he is usually very calm, expect him to tease the other team during games.

Xander Xavi:Xander is almost an exact copy of his lifelong friend and Baptism of Fire teammate, Andre Inestia. He is an even better playmaker and has an amazing finishing ability. His loyalty is also placed heavily in Leones Cleen. He tries to be more sociable with other teammates, much to the dismay of Andre.

Clint Daniels:Clint is a quiet, lead by example assistant captain. He is generally liked by the team for his hard work ethic. Daniels is not specifically skilled in one area or another, but is the perfect man for the job when it comes to clutch moments. He is strong, with a good, but not particularly, fast speed. In the second to last league game, Clint was involved in an altercation with Oldcastle that saw two of his compatriots sent off and the captain himself seeing a yellow. Later in the match he had another quarrel with the referee that caused the man in charge to give Daniels a second yellow. There was a lot of controversy when he was called up to the national team.

Tony Baumann:He is another player of the Northern Knights and has made his name known there. After a first successful season with eight assists plus two goals, the Walkany fans were clamoring for him to be called up. Unsurprisingly, O'nielle had already called him up. His eye for through balls makes him very valuable in the Gator's four-three-three set up.

Kegan St. Martin:A third player to play out of country, but he plays for the Zlatan Landish team the New Stockarm Ghosts. With twelve goals and fourteen assists, it is easy to see why he was selected as a national team player. Many people think his heavier than normal weight slows him down, when in reality Kegan is one of the fastest players in Zlatan Land.

Chris Rolonda:Chris is tall(6'1"), dark, and handsome. He is the most athletic player in Walkany. Chris' speed is unmatched and his strength rivals Mark de Man's. On top of all of this, he is an excellent free kick taker, finisher, and dribbler. Rolonda's only fault is his short temper. He is regularly known for arguing with the referee and talking 'smack' to the opposing teams.

Leones Cleen:Leones is short, but skilled. He frequently embarrasses defenders with his dribbling technique and shames goal keepers with his finishing ability. Cleen also specializes in free kicks. After several years of mentoring and maturation, Leo has gained some in dependancy and does not require assistance from his friends Xavi and Inestia.

Alex Sorrel:With a delightful personality, Sorrel has some of the best sportsmanship on the team. His eye for playmaking, especially with air balls, makes him invaluable. He repeatedly fakes out defenders, using body language as his weapon. His stocky build makes him perfect for running at strong defenders. Sorrel trains very hard every day. He is 100% at the beginning of each competition, but eventually becomes tired and he has trouble performing at his usual standards.

Eddy Haphazard:Eddy is the captain of the team for good reason. He knows how to treat everyone and can keep a cool head when times get tough. He is skilled in every part of the game, but finding a man in the box is what he specializes in. Eddy is often seems the target of fouls by opposing teams, probably due to his determination to never give up. The only thing coaches disagree with is his conviction to always keep attacking.

Harve Ferro:A short, but ecstatic young man, Ferro is one of the best attackers for Shells FC. He is a very aggressive player and loves to defend as well as attack. His teammates are fond of his enthusiasm and they can always expect him to be the first player at practice.

Dennis Wegner:He is the embodiment of what teens think it means to be cool. Denny wears the latest styles, keeps up with the latest trends, has several successful rap albums, and is a professional athlete. His attitude towards his teammates could improve, but his dedication to being the best is unmatched.

Welcome to Star United States

Welcome to the land of diversity! The country of Star United States is composed of five districts, which are known as Estrall, Herbeid, Piasxe, Opangue, and Starix. City of Star stands proud as the Starian Capital. Diversity can be found from the small forgotten streets in little towns to the busiest market streets in primate cities, be it food, the people, of the languages. Here in the Starian lands, the most common languages are English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and are spoken throughout the whole region. Portuguese, however, is more common and known on the Starian Islands. There are seven beautiful islands in the West Esportivan Ocean that are known as: Alegria, Ilha do Sur, Ilha Central, Paz, Ilha Recife, Sorriso, and Ilha do Norte. It should also be noted that the official religion of the country is Christianity.
