Background:
The Marettan Premier Leeague is the highest football league in all of Maretta. 16 Teams from across the country battle for the most treasured trophy in all of Maretta - the Marettan Shield. A season will last 30 weeks, and every team will play each other twice; once home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned champions, who along with the second placed team will qualify for major international club tournaments. The bottom 2 placed teams will relegate to the Marettan First Division where they will swap places with the two highest placed teams in this league.
