April Carrion (EUR) 2 6 6
Javier Pasante (EJM) 6 1 2

April Carrion, the sole Euroslavian survivor in the Volatus Open, scratched her way to victory against Javier Pasante in an all-out 'brawl'. There didn't seem to be an in-between where both players worked well against each other. It was almost as if there was a light switch associated with both players, and when one was flipped on, the other flipped off. After April lost her first set 2-6, she pulled herself together and won the next two sets in a concentrated manner, 6-1 and 6-2 to secure her spot in the Final 8 of the singles tournament. Four ranked players remain while four unranked players also remain. Unfortunately, April must go against Ardil Navsal, the number one ranked player in the current tournament. If she can manage to defeat the number one seed, her ranking would shoot up even more than it already has with the win over teammate Tammie Brown and her most recent victory over Javier Pasante.

Kandy Ho/Queen Bee Ho (EUR) 6 7 9
Athena Miladelta/Valerie Melitza (ALA) 7 6 11

Kandy Ho/Queen Bee Ho suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of Athena Miladelta/Valerie Melitza in a match that couldn't have gotten any closer. Literally. The amount of points scored between both sides could've gone either way in a matter of a couple plays. The loss in the final set left a bitter taste in the duo's mouths, considering their preparation for this match and tournament, but at the end of the day, it's more experience and more of an opportunity to continue climbing the rankings, with the hope of securing a spot in tournament play every time it comes around. The group stage is too much of a gamble, with new, solid players coming out of the wood works every single time. April Carrion is proof of that in making it as far as she has, giving Tammie Brown a run for her money as the top singles player from Euroslavia.

Joan Levitt/Deanne Smith (ETM) 7 6
Yara Sofia/Alexis Mateo (EUR) 6 4

Yara Sofia/Alexis Mateo were also knocked out in a tough match against Joan Levitt/Deanne Smith. It wasn't as much of a battle as Kandy/Queen Bee's battle, as Yara and Alexis weren't able to steal a set from their opponents, but they gave it their all. This can only be a learning experience as the Euroslavian doubles teams continue to become stronger and more of a threat to those at the top of the rankings.

Electrum Lawn Tennis Association News

Electrumites hold up in the Volatus

This tournament is a true mixed bag. You have some of the world's best in Navsal and Vales and Andiam and Dovan (basically all the Cenians), and then you have Electrum's "B-Team", so-called as they were placed into this tournament to gain some extra points and gain parity with the other Electrumites. And it's a whole mess of a tournament right now, some how having the numbers of Electrumites stay intact from Day 1 of this tournament, a surely impressive feat. But this is where it starts to get serious, as the draw gets narrower and narrower, the players become harder and harder. In the doubles, the stakes are also higher too, far higher than usual. In these tournaments, if there is a tie with one set apiece, a match tiebreak will occur - a do-or-die situation where the first to ten points win. Although arguably this system seems unfair, the momentum changes in the tiebreak make it interesting tennis, even if it does cut the time of doubles play from a full set to just a potential of maybe fifteen points.

Anyways, in the singles, Malcolm Press in the first round defeating up-and-coming Kay Jackson, one to look out for, from the Andromedan Islands. Press, who is an experienced veteran in this circuit sailed comfortably after a tight first set, him conceding 7-5, but that setback was nothing as he took the next to with three and four to advance to the next round. He would then face Elizabeth Hines from the United States of Devonta, understandably crushing her, and even getting a few trick moves into his points including the shot between the legs, and even hitting the ball squarely at her legs at one point (a hit on the opponent's head funnily enough rewards a point to the person who performed the hit).

Carmichael Brown has had a much easier start to the tournament -- the youngster defeated Ethan Stokes in a demolition effort 6-1 6-2. It was a truly mature and multifaceted match which saw him mix up his play style and serves, making him unpredictable and making it hard for Stokes to get into rhythm and get into the points. Then, he would have a much tougher assignment in the more wizened and definitely the more older Britonisean in Ricardo Toli. Again, Brown mixed his game, tried new shots, and won 7-5 6-1, the second set lasting a record thirty minutes. Next up, Press has the tricky assignment of facing Kika Dovan whilst Brown will face Esperanza Cho.

Meanwhile, the first round of the doubles was also today, with Levitt and Smith defeating the Euroslavian pair of Sofia and Mateo, 7-6 6-4 in two very close sets. Although it didn't look as close on paper, there were only five or so points separating the two pairs, with Levitt and Smith just managing to pull through the crucial points, and having a bit of luck on their side. A fortunate wind breeze at the right time saw Levitt's failed shot clear the net, and onto the floor, handing them a break point in the second set against their opponents. It was a harder ride however, for the Cassingtons who lost the first set 2-6, before clawing back with a tiebreak 7-6 in the second. The second set saw the Cassingtons down by a double break, but four games in a row for the sisters, and they were back on track. This was attributed (according to Maya Cassington) to the bananas they ate on court, just giving them the extra energy they needed to go for the ball. With momentum squarely on their side, they would win the match tiebreak 10-4.

Up next, Levitt and Smith face surprising winners Putrawan/Ratmadi whilsts the Cassingtons go against Jackson and Trent from the Andromedan Islands in the second round of competition. The ELTA wishes all players the best of luck

Andromeda News Network
Good Morning Andromeda
Sports Coverage – The Volatus Open
Monday Morning

Dave Bishop updates viewers on the status of Andromedan players at the Volatus Open. Highlights accompany their commentary.

“Dave Bishop here at the Volatus Millennium Sports Complex in Centre City, Ceni. The late doubles matches yesterday were interrupted by a rain delay. In the case of the two Andromedan doubles teams, the evening storms worked to their advantage.

“On Saturday, Kay Jackson and Erin Trent dispatched their opponents rather quickly. Their desire to make the Elite eight was equalled by their desire to beat the rain. Less than five seconds after Trent served match point the rain started pouring.

“Johnnie Foster and Kate Logan weren’t so lucky. They were down a set and tied at 2-2 in the second when play was suspended. Their match resumed this morning. Foster and Logan appeared to have benefitted from the rest, gaining a break early on. They won three of their four games that morning. They also dominated the super-tie-break, advancing.

“The afternoon saw Esperanza Cho play Adebouale Gilliam, the qualifier from Madesu. Cho appeared to have problems with her footing, due to the rain. Cho slipped and fell late in the opening set. Cho would recover and hold serve for the rest of the match. In the end, Cho outlasted Gilliam, winning 6-3 in the third.

“While Cho was playing on Court 2, Kate Logan faced #4 seed Johmer Vales on the Grandstand Court. Despite Vales being a native Cenian and despite Logan having finished her doubles match earlier that morning, Logan played well. But Vales eventually prevailed, winning 6-3 in two sets.

“Let’s look at the doubles draw. Logan and Foster have a tall order, facing the top seeded Xal Sisters on their home turf. While Jackson and Trent face the #2 seeded Cassingtons from Electrum.

“Esperanza Cho will face Electrumite Carmichael Brown in the quarterfinals on Tuesday. Brown upset #3 seed Ricardo Toli yesterday in straight sets.

“For Andromeda News Network, this is Dave Bishop. Back to you, Billy!”

The heart beats like the
Pounding of a Japanese taiko drum
At first it stays soft and low
But then it gets
Longer, louder, faster
As the drummer gets
Caught up in his
Exhortation of skill
And music

The sweat pours out like a
Waterfall pouring from
Mountainous heights
Falling a distance, long, to
The ground below in
Steady rhythm,
Pouring fast - as long
As the rain falls
And gravity calls below

The stomach tosses and turns like a
Butterfly performing somersaults,
Diving in and out
To pollinate flowers of many types -
In and out,
In and out,
Churning one way,
Then the other

It's a nervous feeling
Standing on one side of the court,
Wanting to play another day -
But knowing you must work hard
Today in order to survive
It's a nervous feeling

An airplane en route to Cenial
Saturday afternoon

Three of the five Andromedans who played in Centre City are on an airplane flying to Cenial, the site of the Cenial Masters. Johnnie Foster and Esperanza Cho left in a rental car this morning. Kay Jackson and Kate Logan are stretched out in their first class seats. Erin Trent is reading player dossiers, studying up on potential opponents.

“Why ain’t you relaxin’, Erin?” Kay Jackson is looking forward to a Saturday night at the Club.

“I’m checking out the line-ups. We might have to go through qualification.”

“Q-Week starts on Monday. It’s Saturday. You need to relax.”

“I’ll relax once the doubles final is over in a few hours. Their match is going on now.”

“Really? Who’s winning?” Jackson doesn’t have the slightest interest in the Volatus doubles final.

“It’s still really early.”

“Aren’t Joan Levitt and Deanna Smith playing?” Logan just woke from a nap and joins in the conversation. “Didn’t they play Ray and Hayley in Hamilton?”

“Yeah. I’m still wondering how those little perverts won the doubles title.”

“Little perverts? That’s a bit harsh. Isn’t it Erin?”

“They’re cousins, and they’re…”

“They’re like second cousins more than six times removed,” Logan interrupts. “They’re about as closely related as me and Kay.”

“But… isn’t Hayley’s grandmother a Thomas?”

“Thomas is one of the most common surnames in the Archipelago.”

Jackson stares at Trent. Trent has been hinting around about their relationship reaching beyond the tennis court. Jackson sees Trent’s concern about Ray and Hayley as a bit hypocritical.

“Why didn’t Johnnie and Esperanza fly with us?”

“Johnnie likes driving,” Logan says.

“And Esperanza likes Johnnie,” Jackson says.

“She just turned 16 like a month ago,” Logan says. “Besides, Britt Mack would tear them both apart if they…”

“Don’t get her angry,” Trent says. “You won’t like her when she’s angry.”

The three ladies laugh. Trent puts her headphones back on. Jackson and Logan lean back in their seats and relax.

After a few hours, Trent quickly takes her headphones off.

“The match is over. Guess who won?”

“Who, Erin? Who?” Logan also has little interest in who won the final, but chooses to humor Trent.

On Single Competition, Oka Sulastra become a star stealer in this competition after comes to the tournament as a qualifier and able to go through Round of 16. It is also his best achievement so far after only finished at Round 32 in Neu Engollon Open. While for Ngurah Putra Muliawan, it is a better exit for him in the last 3 tournaments with also ending in Round of 16. But for Indah Susanti and Luh Putu Yundari, it is their worst exit in a row after also only able to finished in Round 1 of Hamilton International.

While in Double Competition, Eka Putrawan/Dwi Ratmadi achieve their highest position ever after losing in Quarter Final against Joan Levitt/Deanne Smith of Electrum. And Oka Sulastra/Luh Putu Yundari get the biggest upset after only finished in Round 16. All the players now change their attention and prepared for Cenial Masters. Ngurah Putra Muliawan in Single and Komang Antari/Kadek Andreawati in Double are expected to finished higher then the other players. But anything could happen. Let's juts wait and see where the ball rolls.

“Q-Week”
Lake Cenial Tennis Complex
Cenial, Ceni
Sunday morning

Kay Jackson and Erin Trent are practicing with Johnnie Foster and Kate Logan on one of the outer courts. They look to improve on their debut performances in doubles. Their scrimmage against each other ended a few minutes ago. They stand under the shade of the bleachers, waiting for the other two Andromedan doubles teams to come out of the locker room.

“So, who’s it gonna be in three weeks?” Erin Trent wonders who the favorites are for the tournament.

“Why you askin’ that question? You lookin’ at this year’s doubles finalists,” Kay Jackson says, referring to themselves.

“I think you mean ‘who are the favorites?’” Johnnie Foster chimes in. “Betting money here is on the low seeds, at least in singles.”

“So, you’re a bettin’ man, Reverend Foster?”

“Gambling’s a sin,” Foster says. “But… I never said I wasn’t a sinner.”

“You didn’t answer the question, Reverend,” Kate Logan says, sarcastically.

“Not lately. I didn’t make it out of qualification, so money’s tight.”

“We made the quarters in Volatus,” Logan says. “Where did THAT money go?”

“You made it farther in singles, so I had to pay for our rooms. That was our bet. Remember?”

“You two slept in separate rooms?”

“Most of the time,” Logan says, teasing Foster. If Foster weren’t already so dark, his face would be beet red.

“Really?” Jackson smiles. “I noticed that you two work better together than you did in Centre City. I should have known.”

“What about Britt?”

“I handled it,” Foster says. “She was pretty cool about it.”

“I’ll bet,” Jackson says.

There is an awkward silence before Kelly Cicero and Hayley Van Pelt came out of the girl’s locker room.

“We should meet at the north entrance?” Kate looks at Johnny as they both enter their respective locker rooms.

“Across from the restaurant?”

“From the museum.”

“It’s the same exit,” Foster says. Logan joins the other girls in their locker room as Bryce Lord and Ray Thomas come out. Before Foster goes in, Lord and Thomas talk with him a bit.

“You’ll want to avoid Britt,” Thomas says. “She’s not taking it well. She’s spent most of her time studying. She says she’s taking summer classes.”

“A piece of advice,” Lord offers. “You should never… ever… date another tennis player,” Lord says.

All three men laugh. Lord and Thomas have both dated their doubles partners since high school.

“YOU’RE giving ME about dating advice?”

“We got that advice in Hamilton,” Thomas says. “From a couple of Cenites.”

The three men laugh.

“Seriously, though,” Lord says. “Be careful around Britt, and handle your business.”

“Thanks, Bryce.”

Foster walks into the locker room, feeling a little less guilty about his messy personal life. He finds the game of tennis much less demanding.

Qualification day 1 Cenial Masters CourtReport

GANDO: Hello and we welcome all viewers to this Cenial Masters coverage, I'm Levi Gando. Madesene players today in the first day of the Cenial Masters proved to be one of the dominant, as we had no Madesene loss today! To start off we had (2) Image Gabe Anderson take on Image Sophia Reeves of Gloriax. Anderson had no trouble in the first set as he kept a stable first serve percentage as well as winners. Reeves stepped up her game significantly but a loss of a serve game at 4-all enabled Anderson to conclude with a 6-0, 6-4 win.

-Next was (6) Image Mayeso Kayden taking on Image Milla Radspon of Ameraksia. Kayden maintained a very stable play against Radspon as he kept his serve and ground stroke leveled. Final scores were 6-2, 6-3.

-In group 6 was Image Odell Bristol taking on number 5 seed Image Brandon Yon of Devonta. Bristol played an excellent first set, but things started to get quite tense in the second as Yon brought up his game a little. Bristol in the end was very lucky due to Yon's unforced errors or else the match could have gone to the final set, but fortunately Bristol won a 6-3, 6-4 match against the number 5 seed.

-Next in group 7 was (7) Image Benjamin Shaw taking on Image Endra Laviza of Alma Atta. Shaw too maintained a leveled play against the Alma Attan, as he successfully claimed a straight 6-3, 6-3 win over Laviza.

-(10) Image Sajjad de Sauveterre was dominant in his match against another fellow Alma Attan Image Virsa Dazka. Dazka and De Sauveterre played a rather entertaining first set as both players kept hold of their service games, then at 3-all De Sauveterre's winner point enabled him to claim the set. In the second De Sauveterre had absolutely no trouble with serve and/or ground stroke allowing him to claim a 6-4, 6-0 match.

-In the doubles side of the tournament we had (3) Image Jayce Wood/Ariel Aubert of group 4 taking on Image Tyler Nickles/Freddy Mercury of Devonta. Wood and Aubert had absolutely no trouble in their match today, as they easily claimed a 6-0, 6-1 match.

This has been a Cenial Masters CourtReport of the first day of qualification week, I'm Levi Gando, thank you all for watching.

“Q Week”
Lake Cenial Tennis Complex
Cenial, Ceni
Monday afternoon

Kelly Cicero sits in the stands at one of the outer courts. Her fiancée, Bryce Lord, is playing his first singles match in months. He is up against Tyler Martin from some country called Kapootopia or some such. Lord won the first set, but both players have held serve through eight games in the second. Lord is serving, down 4-5 and 30-40.

Lord serves. After chasing down Martin’s return, Lord hits the ball neglecting to look and see where the ball went. The ball skims the top of the net and drops on Martin’s side. Martin, who is well behind the base line, is almost as surprised as Lord.

“Deuce!”

Kay Jackson and Kate Logan walked in, just as Lord made his shot. They sit next to Cicero.

“How’s he holding up?” Jackson knows that Cicero is concerned about Lord.

“He’s hanging on. It looks like they’re going to go to a tie-break.” Cicero notices that Jackson’s partner isn’t at her side. “Where’s Erin?”

“Who knows? She’s been going on about the Nassau Open back home. She’s occupied with who’s going to join us at the Cenian Open.”

“Well, there are worse things to obsess about,” Cicero says. “How’d you do, Kate?”

“Straight sets.”

“And Johnnie?”

“Straight sets,” Logan says. “We just came from Court 5.”

“Johnnie and Kate here are both comin’ along,” Jackson says.

“You know, I wasn’t sure if Bryce should have tried singles again,” Cicero admits. “But he was all like ‘I want to see if I still got it.’ So, here we are.”

“Advantage, Lord.”

“What do you think, Kelly? Is he on his game?”

“I hope so!”

Lord ended up winning his fifth service game. After that, Lord finally broke Martin. The eleventh game lasted more than 15 minutes. Now, Lord is serving for the match. He’s up 6-5 and 40-love.

Lord serves. Martin’s return shot lands just out of bounds.

“Game. Set. Match. Lord.”

After the players shake hands, Lord walks into the Locker Room. Cicero turns to Logan and Jackson.

“He’s still got it.”

Qualification day 2 Cenial Masters CourtReport

GANDO: Hello and we welcome all viewers to this Cenial Masters coverage, I'm Levi Gando. To start us off was (2) Image Gabe Anderson taking on Image Housni Djokov of Alma Atta. Djokov and Anderson had rather decent points and games in the first set, then late in the set Anderson managed to break Djokov's serve and eventually claim the set. Anderson's momentum transitioned strong to the second set, enabling Anderson to conclude with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over the Alma Attan.

-(6) Image Mayeso Kayden played quite a difficult match against Image Lyandra Uylagra of Alma Atta. Uylagra started off very well breaking Kayden's serve twice since both players were at 3-all, enabling her to claim the set. Kayden came back in the second set with a stronger play than the first allowing him to claim the second, and Kayden continued his momentum onto the third, enabling him to claim a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win.

-Image Odell Bristol of group 6 took on Image Efryzka Lyda of Miss World Island. Lyda and Bristol played quite an entertaining first set; in the end Bristol was able to claim that due to several unforced errors from Lyda. Bristol had no trouble in the second set regarding general play, allowing him to claim a 6-4, 6-2 win.

-(7) Image Benjamin Shaw played Image Nalani Sandres of Ameraksia in group 7. Shaw breezed through the first set by hitting several aces against Sandres, with his fastest serve being 132 mph. Sandres stepped up his game a little in the second set but it wasn't enough to push the match onto the third set, enabling Shaw to claim a 6-2, 6-4 win.

- In group 8 was (10) Image Sajjad de Sauveterre playing Image Olimvia Vasean of Miss World Island. Vasean practically breezed through the opening set as she busted out aces as well as several winners. De Sauveterre came back in the second but indeed struggled to claim it. The second set lasted roughly an hour due to the many lengthy but entertaining rallies played. De Sauveterre and Vasean pulled off a very entertaining set in the final but De Sauveterre's unforced errors costed him a loss enabling Vasean to claim a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win over De Sauveterre. Group 8 is very tight at the moment as all players are tied with 5 points; any further loss De Sauveterre may not be able to qualify; we'll just have to see.

-In the doubles side (3) Image Jayce Wood/Ariel Aubert played Image Zack Peterson/Dart Miko of Ameraksia. The Madesenes started off very well by mixing up a quality serve-and-volley type of play, allowing them to claim it. Miko and Peterson came back in the second with their style of play which allowed them to claim it. The final set Wood and Aubert gained the momentum they had in the first set in order to claim a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory over the Ameraksians.

This has been a Cenial Masters CourtReport of the second day of qualification week, I'm Levi Gando, thank you all for watching.

“Q Week”
Lake Cenial Tennis Complex
Cenial, Ceni
Wednesday afternoon

Kate Logan, Kay Jackson, Ray Thomas and Hayley Van Pelt arrive at Court #2. Kelly Cicero is watching Bryce Lord play another qualifying match. This time, Lord is playing some guy named Mickey DiNozo from a country none of them have ever heard of.

“Let me guess,” Cicero says. “You just came from watching Johnnie play?”

“Johnnie played this morning,” Kate says. “He won, but it was a long match. He’s at the hotel.”

“And how’d you do Kate?”

“How do you think she did?” Kate Jackson is direct. “Straight sets. She barely broke a sweat.”

“And Bryce, how’s he doing?”

“It’s a long one, but check out the score.”

The match is in the final set, tied at 5 games apiece. Miky Naluzo is about to serve.

“Unless there’s a break soon, it’s going to be a long night.”

A few minutes later…

“Game. Lord.”

The crowd cheers. Lord has just broken the Miss World Islander for the first time in more than two hours. Meanwhile, Erin Trent walks in with Esperanza Cho.

“We saw that the match was deadlocked in the final set,” Trent says.

“We heard people cheering,” Cho says. “So, what did we miss?”

“Bryce caught a break,” Cicero says.

Meanwhile, on the court, Lord closes his eyes. If he can hold this one service game, the match is over.

Lord serves. Naluzo returns. The point takes about a minute, but Lord ends it with a cross-court smash.

“15-love.”

Lord rubs the top of his head. Naluzo made a hard shot that collided with his temple early in the previous set. His head still hurts a bit, but he has since recovered.

The next rally also lasts nearly a minute. Lord checks his swing as the ball sails by and lands behind the base line.

“30-love.”

Lord feels a bit of pain in his knees. Normally, this isn’t a problem, but the match has lasted nearly three hours. It’s also a bit hot today. Lord wants to finish this match off.

Lord’s next serve is an ace.

“40-love.”

The crowd cheers. Lord closes his eyes again. He thinks about a warm bath in the hotel room. He thinks about the steak that Kelly will order through room service. He thinks about something more important than a qualifying match in a tennis tournament. He thinks about Kelly’s smile. To him, her smile is the most beautiful smile in the whole world.

Lord opens his eyes. He serves.

“Game. Set. Match. Lord.”

The match is over. The crowd cheers. The pain is gone.

Ceni Grand Park
Cenial, Ceni
Saturday morning

With all of the Andromedan qualification matches having finished last night, Britt Mack and Esperanza Cho spend the morning strolling through Ceni Grand Park, which is close to the Tennis Complex. Since arriving in Cenial, some of the players have been giving Britt Mack grief because she hasn’t really gone out with the other players at night. Esperanza Cho has also been relatively monastic, not leaving the hotel after sunset on most days.

The two of them have spent the past few minutes looking at an odd, round orange sculpture across the street from the Ceni Museum of Modern Art.

“Britt, do you have any idea what it is?”

“I can’t say. It looks a little like a giant rotten orange that’s not rotten.”

“Maybe it’s a landscape of the sun.”

“Could be. You see that pattern there?”

“It looks like a lizard, holding up a peace symbol.”

“It’s a Peace Frog.”

There is an awkward silence. Cho decides to ask Britt Mack a tough question.

“Britt, if you don’t mind asking, what about you and Johnnie? You two seemed very close…”

“Seem is the right word. When we’d go out, he’d spend so much time talking about Kate Logan… I felt like his priest, listening to confession.”

“Is that why you broke up? Kate?”

“We were never really together. Yes, he’s a good guy, but between Kate and this rigid moral code he has… Besides, I just can’t handle a relationship right now.”

“Why not?”

“I’m going to graduate next year, and I need to focus on my studies.”

“But, aren’t you only a junior?”

“I’ll be a senior this fall,” Mack says. “It’ll be my third year, but I’ll be a senior.”

“How do you do it?”

“Esperanza, all most people see when they look at me is this huge woman. I intimidate people, so the result of it is a lot of free time. Plus, between tennis and school, I don’t have much time.”

“I see.”

The two continue staring at the statue. Carmen Doyle and Maggie Cho see Britt and Esperanza looking at the statue. They start looking at the sculpture.

“It looks like an old basketball,” Maggie Cho says.

“No, it isn’t,” Carmen Doyle says. “It’s a World Map.”

“Why would a World Map be orange?”

“You can see the Andromeda Islands, right there.”

“That doesn’t make any… Hey, that does kind of look like the Andromeda Islands.”

Erin Trent, who’s supposed to meet the girls for lunch, joins them. She suppresses a giggle, because she finds their interest in the sculpture amusing.

“So, what’s up Erin?” Mack notices Trent wearing a sweat suit from the museum gift shop. “Why aren’t you checking out potential opponents at the doubles matches?”

“Maybe later. I’m starting the day off right first.”

“So, what’s the tournament field look like?”

“Kay and I could face the #3 seed in the second round. Johnnie and Kate got it real tough. They face Cost-of-a Cherry and Da-rate-o-da Rentos.”

“And the other doubles teams? You think it could be Lord/Cicero vs. Thomas/Van Pelt, like it was in Hamilton?”

“If the ball bounces our way, why not?”

“What do you think of OUR chances?” Mack knows that Trent can be a bit too eager to share her opinions. The four women look at Trent, waiting for her response.

“Your chances are all good. I got a feeling that one of you in singles will break on through.”

“…to the other side?”

There’s an awkward silence. None of the others understand quite what Mack said.

“Well, I’m hungry! Aren’t we supposed to eat an early lunch?”

“Yeah, but I’m not sure where,” Britt says.

“We’re trying to figure out what this is,” Maggie Cho admits.

“Girls, you’re thinking too hard.” Trent points to an ice cream shop, right next to the sculpture.

“It’s a giant scoop of orange sherbet,” Trent says confidently as she walks toward the ice cream shop. “Come on in. They serve this Cenian Orange Sherbet that’s to die for.”

The other girls laugh, realizing that Trent is right.

Qualification day 3 Cenial Masters CourtReport

GANDO: Hello and we welcome all viewers to this Cenial Masters CourtReport, I'm Levi Gando. Today Madesenes once again demonstrated their talent in tennis as none of them suffered a loss. To start us off was (2) Image Gabe Anderson playing against a fellow Euroslavian Image Tatianna. Anderson had no trouble throughout the match in regards to his play, as he maintained a fair hold of his serve as well as his rallying points, allowing him to claim a 6-3, 6-3 win over the Euroslavian.

-Next up was (6) Image Mayeso Kayden taking on Image Meghan Anderson of Kaboomlandia. Kayden and Anderson played a lengthy but rather entertaining first set as they were both able to hold their service games and gave off beautiful play. In the end of the set Kayden managed to claim it after a few unforced errors from the Kaboomlandian. Kayden continued his momentum over to the second set enabling him to successfully claim a 7-5, 6-2 win over Anderson.

-In group 6 was Madesene Image Odell Bristol taking on quite a scary match against Image Aaron Richards, another Kaboomlandian. Richards proved his stance in the match as he served out several aces against the Madesene, enabling him to claim the set. Bristol had a comeback in the following 2 sets as he improved his game very significantly, allowing him to claim a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win.

-(7) Image Benjamin Shaw took on a fellow Andromedan Image Johnnie Foster in a lengthy but entertaining game. Foster started the match off very good as he pretty much dominated the court; his all-round play against Shaw was what enabled him to claim it. The second set was what most viewers who watched the game the most entertaining of the match. Both players were dominating each other; Shaw refusing to lose it. In the end, after almost an hour and a half Shaw managed to claim the set. Shaw continued his momentum onto the third quite easily enabling him to earn a 2-6, 7-6, 6-1 win.

-In group 8 was (10) Image Sajjad de Sauveterre playing against Image Salvia Ester of Ameraksia. De Sauveterre practically breezed through the first set as he didn't have any trouble holding onto his service games and maintained a relatively high quality play against the Ameraksian. The second set is where thing started to get quite interesting as Ester improved her game significantly; an improved serve-and-volley type of play was what did the trick for Ester. Eventually this battle went into a tie-break and De Sauveterre simply took it all from there. By winning 7-0 in the tie-break this allowed De Sauveterre to claim a 6-1, 7-6 win over Ester.

-Over in the doubles side of the tournament was (3) Image Jayce Wood/Ariel Aubert taking on Image Abas Ur'a/Ali Saufan of Alma Atta. All throughout the match the Madesene doubles players had almost no flaw to their game. By showing their dominance on the court Aubert and Wood were able to close with a 6-3, 6-1 win.

This has been a Cenial Masters CourtReport of the third day of qualification week, I'm Levi Gando, thank you all for watching. Coverage will continue tomorrow.
