Commiserations to Banija (and congratulations to Frenline). Close games seemed to be a habit for me this World Bowl.

Still, at least next time round I'll finally have a rank back.

Shouldn't record come before GD in terms of determining seeding?

Wow. The first time I do an RP in the World Bowl, and I move on to the round of sixteen. Well played, Banija and Rennidan.
I don't know how long I'll be back, but I just thought I'd stop in and say hi, at least.

I'm confused as to how seeding has been done. I picked up more points in the group stage than some teams that are above me. Why is this?

Another question: When did the points for a win switch from 3 to 2?

Oops....That was my mistake doing playoff seeds in middle of the night without the power of alcohol or marijuana. Sorry for the inconvenience, it's now fixed with right seedings on position in group, wins/points and then GD.

Kaboomlandia wrote:Another question: When did the points for a win switch from 3 to 2?

Using same tables as WCoH was what happened. It's not a big deal anyways Kaboom, for there's no draw in WB.

Just a heads up, Quebbles, you changed the standings but not the match ups. No big deal as we can figure it out, just FYI.

I feel like if I had just a little more time, or if it hadn't coincided with the beginning of my second semester, then maybe I could've had a shot of winning it with Thereisnogodistan. Still, it's a good game played. Congrats to Schottia for winning the World Bowl, many thanks to Quebec for hosting the tournament even through the problems and delays and messed-up tables ( :D ), and to everyone else who RPed, it was a nice adventure with you, and until the next time.

Also thank you to our host Quebec. It was very refreshing in the way that you tried to something subtly different with the winter themed tournament. Nice one!

Alrighty, folks! It's getting close to time to rouse ourselves from our usual inter-World Bowl stupor and get another one of these puppies moving.

We are coming up on two full months since the end of the last World Bowl. Do we feel ready to start up another one? Do we want to wait until we are into April? Or some third thing I haven't thought of?

Thoughts? Feelings? Criticisms? Vicious personal attacks?

Based on where we're at in the soccer cycle and the lack of signup threads for the WBC, IBC and WCoH (which are, traditionally, the tournaments that overlap most heavily with the World Bowl in terms of active participants), I think now's probably the ideal time to start World Bowl signups if we want to minimize overlap with those other tournaments.

Now that we have twice as long between World Cup cycles as we used to, there's no good reason why all 4 of those tournaments should be running simultaneously and cutting into one another's activity.

I concur. I was just beginning to itch for another World Bowl. The timing makes sense for me too, with NSCF being in the middle of offseason and my own domestic league wrapping up its season. I'm all for getting a sign-up thread posted ASAP.
