Nothing like a little home cookin' for Team Vephrall, as two of the nation's three drivers qualified in the top four for the Topaz Tools 500 at Meice Motor Speedway. Thwante Handbosm and Baspaalt Cagenil will start side-by-side on row 2 after both posting qualifying speeds of well over 196 miles per hour.

"There's just nothing like the sheer adrenaline you get racing at MMS," commented Handbosm after the qualifying session. "It certainly isn't the hardest track to race at, but in this profession there's just no substitute for raw, unadulterated speed." Cagenil's fourth-place time proved rather surprising, given his status as a road course specialist, while Kibad Hahnea suffered disappointment again as she'll have to fight her way up from the inside of row 14.

Stan Pentti of Quakmybush picked up pole position at 197.169 mph, and Lanceo's Bobcat Jones will start on the outside of row 1. Calvin Emberton of Jeffgordonville is fifth.

VEPHRALL (BPA) -- The Topaz Tools 500, sixth race in the NSSCRA stock car series, has proved to be the closest so far in qualifying. The Babbage Islands drivers Chip Woods (#8) and Cathy Trillium (#42) qualified 25th and 30th respectively for today's race, but both are less than a half-second off the pole.

00- Pentti received five bonus points for winning pole.
15- Murphy and 11- Sullivan received the winning nation five bonus points.

After an off day Wednesday, qualifying for the Ecterka Easy 200 @ Ecterka Memorial Speedway, Lanceo (Road Course) will be THURSDAY and the race FRIDAY. Unsure at present how my schedule will look over the 4th of July weekend. I can probably do qual/race on Sat/Sun for the Uiri race, but want to wait until Thursday to make an official announcement on that.

Also, probably will have a few off days next week as I need to find time to get my domestic football (soccer) league set up and scorinated.

Point standing table on the way soon.

It was an off week. Thats all you can really say about last weeks effort put forth by the Taeshani Racing Team. A.J. Henderson only made up 14 spots starting in last place and would finish in the best spot of any of the 3 drivers in 31st, it was a miacle that he stayed on top of the standings at days end. The other two Tae Drivers, Ambrose Douglas, and Colby Andretti, were not as lucky as their days proved worse and they fell in the standings, as did Henderson but he didnt have as bad a day.

JIM Newsletter - Antilles drives stonker to finish 5th, Emberton DNFs early

It looked as though it would be a dream race for championship hopeful Calvin Emberton. After qualifying 5th, and championship leader AJ Henderson dead last, the JIM NSSCRA lead driver felt his chances were good to gain some more points and establish himself as a major contender. As it was, Emberton looked to be all set for a top five, if not the win, when he collided with Banden Corp Uranium during the first round of pitstops, seeing both drivers retire, and the hotheaded Emberton have a few choice words for the Guvnorian that we would rather not repeat here.

It wasn't all doom and gloom for JIM at the Topaz Tools 500, as Jason Antilles drove an absolute storm to go from 26th to 5th. For the first 250 or so laps, Antilles struggled around in the bottom half of the midfield, trying various sorts of different changes in orderto make the car do something that the frustrated Antilles could work with. On the penultimate pitstop, though, Jason and his crew hit a sweet spot in the car, and the 96 car could suddenly do no wrong. Antilles went from being nearly 2 laps down to 5th, within 3 and a half seconds of winner Matthew Schaefer of Secristan despite a lengthy but clean duel with his nemesis, Eric Murphy. Jason also snagged the race's fastest lap along the way. However, it was yet another anonymous race for the old hand Kyle Onasi, as the veteran qualified in 20th and finished in 15th, encountered no major difficulties along the way.

BELGIUM, Daimler (BPA) -- Six races have come and gone in the inaugural NSSCRA racing series. The Woods Motorsport team from Belgium represents The Babbage Islands in the series, and has enjoyed some success so far. Drivers Chip Woods and Cathy Trillium are both ranked in the top 15 overall, with Woods ranked second a mere 29 points off the lead.

The most recent race saw Woods finish 14th, and Trillium 28th, both improving over indifferent qualifying runs. The Tesla-Benz cars used by Woods Motorsport have shown very high reliability under diverse racing conditions, a plus for a new team in a new series.

Three of the next six races are slated for road courses, a factor which should favor veteran road racer Trillium rising a few notches in the standings. She is still looking for her first NSSCRA win. Woods, on the other hand, already has one in the very first race of the series. NSCRRA will come to Belgium Speedway in a couple of months, as the ClearCola 300 debuts on the short track.

Qualifying for the Ecterka Easy 200 @ Ecterka Memorial Speedway in Lanceo has just completed. Here are the results:

Note: I adjusted the track record here. It was posted as a 5 mile road course with a lap record of 41.226 seconds, that’s quite fast and unrealisitic. We’ll pretend as though he accidentally left off a 6 and the record is 6:41.226.

It was yet a nother good qualifying day yesterday for the Taeshani drivers. For the first time Colby Andretti has the best view of the leaders starting 8th, Ambrose Douglas and A.J. Henderson though will bre close starting 20th and 23rd so look for them to drive down the leaders as a team.

"I really have no idea what happened," said a visibly angry Kibad Hahnea after she finished her qualifying run, once again disappointing as she ended up 40th on the grid. "My car absolutely refused to shift into any gear higher than second while I was out there. I've clearly been sabotaged, and I will not rest until I find out who is responsible." She then ran quickly away like a woman on a mission.

Possibly the strangest part of Hahnea's fast lap of just a hair over 43.2 miles per hour was the fact that nobody did significantly better. Even Ad'ihani driver Matthew Portland, who will start from the pole position, couldn't even muster a 45-mph lap, which must surely give Ecterka Memorial Speedway the title of "slowest race track in the multiverse".

(somewhat OOC): Yikes! I try to slow the race down from a 41 second lap and I slow it down to pit road speed (so much for trying to calculate a good record time in your head as opposed to pen and paper, a calculator, or a spreadsheet). Tomorrow's race scorination will be with a record time of 3:41.000 as opposed to 6:41. This won't affect anything else other then the base time used to generate the results.

LANCEO (BPA) -- The Ecterka Easy 200 is coming up tomorrow at Ecterka Memorial Speedway in Lanceo, but it has been anything but easy. On a day when virtually the entire field seemed to have difficulty just getting around the five-mile course, Cathy Trillium of Woods Motorsport seemed to be pleased with a fifth-row qualification. "It was unbelievably slow out there today," she said. "Not just for me, but for everyone. It was really odd, almost like God taking a hand."

Teammate Chip Woods, in the heat of a battle for the top spot in the series standings, was less happy. "It was a zoo out there. I don't blame my guys, they did the best they could. But conditions just blew chunks, that's all there is to it." Woods qualified 32nd.

Vephrall wrote:"I really have no idea what happened," said a visibly angry Kibad Hahnea after she finished her qualifying run, once again disappointing as she ended up 40th on the grid.

Looking up record speed in RL and comparing it to this track, I figured that 2:41 would be a realistic record.

LANCEO (BPA) -- In the end, she caught them all save one.

Cathy Trillium, a well-known road racer from The Babbage Islands making her debuts in both stock car and international racing, drove to a second-place finish at the Ecterka Easy 200 at Ecterka Memorial Speedway in Lanceo. She started in tenth position and overtook eight of the nine racers ahead of her over the 200 miles. It was her second top-three finish of the young season, although Victory Lane has so far eluded her.

Gone were the mysterious atmospheric conditions that slowed racers to a crawl in qualifying. Times were brisk and competition fierce over the five-mile circuit. The winner was Vephrall's Baspaalt Cagenil, who had about three-and-a-half seconds on the field. Trillium's teammate, Chip Woods, finished 30th and slipped a little bit further back of series leader A.J. Henderson in the overall standings.

After a short holiday break, the NSSCRA series moves to Uiri for the Andor 300.

SCHAEFER EARNS VICTORY

Million Rusa Racing’s Matthew Schaefer picked up the first win for Secristan in the interregional stock car racing association by winning the Topaz Tools 400 in Vephrall. Not only that, but all Secristani drivers finished in the top 10. Mr. I am the Greatest, Calvin Emberton of Jeffgordonville, suffered a DNF. Rumors have it that he did not stand on his car and proclaim that he was the greatest driver to ever live after getting involved in an incident with Banden Corp Uranium of Guvnoria. The two had an incident on pit road, but we’ll take the word of any man that is so devoted to his sponsor that the changes his name to honor them. After the race Schaefer was very subdued, “We needed this. Everyone in the 17 shop, everyone in the garage that also works on the 11 and 15 cars. We all needed this win. It’s a victory for all of us man, and I will celebrate it with them. Look at the pylon man, all of us in the top ten! I loved this track. No road course turns and constant shifting. Here it’s about pure speed. That’s what I live for!” Strong performances were not anticipated in our most recent race, the once extremely fast, then super slow, and then much more normal Ecterka Memorial Speedway in Lanceo. After a lengthy rain delay, Baspaalt Cagenil picked up a victory, and Million Rusa Racing picked up 21st and 22nd place finishes by Eric Murphy and Schaefer, respectively. Chris Sullivan was 37th. We got to Uiri next for a speedway race before our drivers are likely to hear the boobirds in Jeffgordonville. Matthew Schaefer plans on wearing a Tonystewartville shirt to that race, although we don't know the origin of that yet.

Well it was a good qualifying day yesterday as all three of the Knights drivers will start in the top 20 in the andor 300 in uiri. A.J. Henderson will start 11th, Colby Andretti will start 13th, and 16th will be the starting spot of Ambrose Douglas,so hopefully they will not get lapped early and can all stay near the front.

JIM Newsletter - Decent run for JIM in Lanceo

As another race weekend comes and goes, it was another okay run from the JIM team at the Ecterka Easy 200. Calvin Emberton once again put on the best performance, qualifying 9th and finishing 11th in a solid race. Again, Kyle ONasi put on another of his 'big mover' races, starting 28th and finishing a repsectible 15th. However, Jason Antilles suffered another dud race, qualifying a lowly 33rd and dropping one position to finish 34th.

Lately, the team has been criticised rather heavily by the Secristani publications, to which most of them have not paid any attention to. Upon asked of his thoughts on these criticisms, Calvin Emberton declined to comment, but when pressed, said, "I don't care what they say. So what if I got carried away when I won? Everybody celebrates in their own way, and when I win, I act as if I might never win again, and let myself get carried away in the moment. Because, greatest ever or not, I might actually never win again, though that is unlikely. If they're trying to get to me, they're wasting their time. I think the Secristan guys'll be pleasantly surprised when we get to Jeffgordonville, we take our rcing pretty seriously there, and I'm they'll be given a warm welcome like the rest of the teams, because, all in all, they're helping putting on the show, and the fans appreciate that."
Jeffgordonville's International Racing History:
WGPC
Season 8
7th (Lee Rogers) and 18th (Richard Emberton) in Drivers Championship
6th in Constructors Championship

Season 9
World Champion (Matthew Portland) and 4th (Lee Rogers) in Drivers Championship

2nd in Constructors Championship

NSSCRA
Season 1
4th (Calvin Emberton), 7th (Kyle Onasi), 25th (Jason Antilles), 46th (Denny Cummings) in Championship

UIRI (BPA) -- Qualifying is complete for the latest NSSCRA event, Andor 300 at Andor Autodromo in Uiri. As expected, the short track was greatly appreciated by The Babbage Islands driver Chip Woods, who will start the #8 Tesla-Benz from the outside of row four tomorrow.

Teammate Cathy Trillium, fresh off her second-place run in Lanceo, will start six rows further back, still in the upper half of the 45-car field.

Woods Motorsport team spokesperson Brandy Blessing commented. "Chip and Cathy have both been driving well, week after week. The season started with a win, and almost every stop we have one car or the other in the hunt. It's a tribute to the support we get from the Tesla people, from Benz, and from the really excellent mechanics who travel with the team every single week."

It was a great day for the three Taeshani Drivers in yesterdays Andor 300 in Uiri. A.J. Henderson got yet another top 5 and continued to lead the circuit. He finished fifth. Colby Andretti finised 16th, and is now in 20th plae in the points. Finally Ambrose Douglas finished 19th, but is marred deep in the points in 32nd due to many problems this season. Hopefully his fortunes will turn around and Henderson, and Andretti can continue to score big.

BADEN, Daimler (BPA) -- One-quarter of the inaugural NSSCRA international stock car series is complete. The local Woods Motorsport team has represented The Babbage Islands well thus far in the series.

The schedule began with a short track race, the Penthoria Electronics 400 in Secristan. Chip Woods won the race in the #8 Tesla-Benz car. Cathy Trillium placed 24th in her oval debut driving #42. The team struggled a little bit in the next race, the Preppy Gals 400 in Cassadaigua. Woods was 16th and Trillium 28th, with current series leader A.J. Henderson of Taeshan picking up the win.

The third event came home to The Babbage Islands, as the Moss-Clark Circuit hosted the Chronowire Communications 400. Trillium is the course record holder in an open-wheeled car, and she drove to a third-place finish in this race with Matthew Portland of Ad'ihan winning. Woods finished 14th.

An alternation of speedways with road courses then continued. Chip Woods took fifth at the Cotswell Coluseum 200 in Guvnoria, whilst Trillium was 37th. Jeff Gordonville's Calvin Emberton won. A short road course race at the Faraday 100 in Bluth Corporation, won by Jeff Connolly of Delaclava, saw Trillium sixth and Woods 25th. The Topaz Tools 500 was next, and was an off day for the team with Woods 14th and Trillium 28th, well behind Secristan's Matthew Schaefer taking the checkered flag in Vephrall.

The Ecterka Easy 200 in Lanceo will be remembered as anything but in qualifying, as a mysterious atmospheric condition dramatically slowed all the teams. Cathy Trillium would adapt to the changing circumstances very well, finishing second behind Vephrall's Baspaalt Cageuil. Woods was 30th, his worst finish of the year. This week's race, the Andro300 in Uiri, saw Woods close to within 75 points of the series lead when he finished fourth. Both Babbage drivers are now in the overall top 10, with Woods second and Trillium eighth overall after her 22d place run.

Winner Erica Phillips (Newmanistan) and points leader A.J. Henderson (Taeshan) will lead the charge into the next quarter of racing, beginning with the Grand Prix of Batwins Moor in Jeffgordonville. The calendar for the remainder of the first half:

9) Grand Prix of Batwins Moor @ Batwins Moor, Jeffgordonville (Road Course)
