Postby San Jose Guayabal » Tue Nov 11, 2014 1:34 pm

Welcome to the first edition of The Opener Trophy, a Friendly tournament before the start of the WC Qualifiers, this tournament is being hosted by San José Guayabal!

San José Guayabal may not be as well-known as another nations when it comes to hosting major international tournaments, the Guayabalense have established themselves as a welcoming and friendly people in their own right in a relatively short span of time. Still somewhat recovering from a civil war that brought about the end of a brutal communist regime, the locals have preserved through the challenges and have quickly mended much of the damage caused by the conflict. With San José Guayabal a peaceful nation once again, the Guayabalense are eager to show the multiverse just how far they've come since emerging from Esportiva not so long ago and will be delighted at the opportunity to do so in front of the international audience at the World Cup and this tournament should be their ideal preparation for that.

Throughout San José Guayabal, preparations are being made for the celebration of sport that will be the first edition of this tournament organized by the Society of The Opener Trophy; The start of World Cup Qualifying is drawing near, and the participants are ready to start their preparation in order to do an excellent WC Qualifiers and hopefully achieve the World Cup Finals.

Main information:

Welcome to this beautiful land called San Jose Guayabal, I'm Her Royal Highness Queen Margaret I, the Queen of this beautiful, beautiful country, now I will give you some important details about this country, details that will ensure you a great stay here!

First let's start with a little history, mainly with basics.

Our nation was inhabited for many centuries, specifically from the ninth century BC, inhabited by indigenous nomads who formed a large settlement in what is now called "Metropolitan Lake", located near San Salvador, our capital.

We going back to closest date to today, specifically in the 14th century BC, a new ethnic group came from the Antarctic regions which lie south of our nation in what are now the "Territories Antarctic Guayabalenses" we mean the Spaniards who colonized our country and transformed it into an important cultural spot for Esportiva then. The discovery of new cities and new cultures was almost unstoppable, highlighting in the process the browser Luis Barbosa, a shrewd and skillful explorer who discovered the 70% of our country, including four major islands in our nation.

Not only shared their culture, but their religion and their language, giving rise to a multicultural society since its inception. Unfortunately those times of peace were shattered by two periods of war from 1989 to 2024, where the war ended with the hope and life of many people.

Since the peace accords were signed, our nation has been devoted to the welfare of others, making room for a tolerant Communist system compared to other systems in other social, where social and cultural freedoms normally prevail also noteworthy that Despite being a communist country, we had no problems with receiving foreign, even more, we include in terms of hospitality, this being a country that stands out in terms of tourism and as happiness, let alone "We are Pura Vida!" (We are Pure Life!)".

After that, came another period of pain to our peoples, the Corvidae regime came with the intention to invade our beautiful paradise, something that made our people feel offended due to the extremely high sense of patriotism and also nationalism. The people with the help of the military forces opposed to Yttribian terrorist movement called Corvidae, they liberated the north of the nation in less than 12 hours, unleashing a quick attack to the enemy and after that, the military foces helped to liberate Yttribia from the fascist yoke and cooperated with tasks of the same kind in nations as Farfadillis and The Inevitable Syndicate (Now known as The Calanian Union or Mertagne).

The war period finished and our nation continues with progress and prosperity for our citizens and also for the friend nations, nations who are in contact with us and we cooperate in different aspects who are basic in terms of welfare and also a high geopolitical presence across the region via integration of Paymina and Rossana (Nations) to SJG with referendum as the tool to give a better life condition to the people and then the communism was literally "kicked" with a massive participation of the people on a Civil War. Now we overcome to the situation and our nation is stable as it was and also it's even better than before with the new system of government, ruled in coalition between Social-Democratic Paty (SDP) and also The Green Party (GP), our nation improved in almost 500% and it's in his best condition to receive all the people with open arms.

In terms of infrastructure, San Jose Guayabal is characterized by a large number of hotels that tend to meet the needs of the most demanding clients, and a good transport system, consisting of inter-regional buses funded by the national government, besides the bullet train service covering major towns in the nation and subway in important cities like San Salvador, El Roblar, San Miguel, Santa Ana and Vladivostok, a good amount of air routes between different cities, plus an excellent state highway system in the SJG, note that in all there is a limit highway established speed, although it is recommended to drive less than 150 kilometers per hour, but if there are speed limits on the outskirts of towns and cities, where you have to reduce speed to the mandatory limit of 60 kph in the suburbs and 50 kph on cities, the naming of streets is in Spanish and English and sometimes in Swedish or Finn (Mainly in El Roblar), in addition to the measures of length using the metric system. Importantly system interconnecting each island ferries our nation quickly and inexpensively.

Our national currency is the GuAlSa, a strong currency if we talk about exchange globally (G$ 0.33 = $1.00 NSDollar or G$ 3.33 = NS$ 1.00), because it's a currency used in five countries, including Alianza Albos, Ratastan, Flammable American Sates and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk gorod, this country is well known for being one of the cheapest in all Esportiva, next we present you a chart with the prices of things you'll use in your stay.

Things you'll need in your stay, prices in NSDolars$ (NS$) and GuAlSa$ (G$)

Inside some companies, you may find you first need to dial a 1 to reach an external line before dialing 327 as usual, though all companies (from “big business” to restaurants and shops) and other public venues (museums, stadiums, etc) are required by law to display adequate signing advising on this, also the 767 (SOS) comes from the international sign of help, the SOS.

Emergency vehicles are marked with the name of the service (be it Police, Fire, or Ambulance), and are also equipped with a siren and flashing either blue or red lights. If you encounter one of these vehicles while the lights, the sirens or both are active, please take extra care, and if necessary, pull over at the nearest and safest opportunity, using your turn signal to ensure that the driver of the emergency vehicle is aware of your actions.

Though unlikely, if you need medical care in San José Guayabal, it will not come with a cost to visitors with the appropriate travel insurance. You will find our hospitals are state-of-the-art, with the best equipment, treatments and employees available, in case you don't have a travel insurance, our medical staff will attend you, due to the Law of Professional Ethics, Morale and Medical Humanity, which says that any person who needs to be helped in a hospital must be attended to save his/her life, so don't worry, your life will be safe here.

You will find that all police officers of the National Civil Police (PNC according to the abbreviation in Spanish - Also called Polis in cities with large Scandinavian communities like El Roblar) are armed with either a standard pistol (9mm) or automatic gun (AK-47) depending of his branch of the PNC (Metropolitan, Civil, and Order Keepers) they belong to. However, this does not mean they should not be approached if you have a question. In San José Guayabal, the Police Officers have excellent training, and patrol areas they are familiar with, so if you are lost, they are often the best people to consult. First and foremost, though, they are keepers of the peace, and will not hesitate to involve themselves in anything they feel is likely to endanger members of the public, or cause criminal damage to private property.

SEMARLAND NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM, OFFICIAL OPENER TROPHY I SQUAD

STAFF:
Manager: Henrik Jensen, 48
Manager for nearly six years, Henrik Jensen is a popular figure in Semarland. Always calm, he is one of Semarland’s most successful managers. Always with his assistant, Thomas Leonardsen, Jensen’s tactics have revolutionised Semarland’s style of play. With his trust and faith in young players, he has overseen the development of talented youngsters like Demba Cisse, transforming them into world-class players. Before, he managed FC Kolberg for three seasons, before he was hired as Semarland’s manager. Every football fan in Semarland will agree, this was one of the greatest decisions ever made.

Assistant Manager: Thomas Leonardsen, 50
Thomas Leonardsen is the other man orchestrating Semarland’s team. Named as one of the greatest Assistant Managers ever by futbaalnyheter.sem, Leonardsen is quite popular too. Ever since Henrik Jensen was a manager, he has been his assistant. He usually keeps quiet during matches, but all of Semarland knows that he still has a role in the team.

First team coach, Mako Albrechtsen, 42
First team coach, Sven Niemstad, 53
Goalkeeping coach, Ulrik Lacht, 50
Defensive coach, Jan Mortensen, 49
Attacking coach, Simon Pedersen, 40
Fitness coach, Marko Kjær, 36
Head physio, Leonard Henriksen, 54
Physio, Jens Larsen, 42
Physio, Lars Keilik, 39
Doctor, Stefan Tramsø, 45
Doctor, Åke Ulfsson, 37
Spokesman, Mikael Stevestad, 42

#1 - GK - Jorgen Karlstad - Age 30 - Dayton FC (DRV) - 53 caps
Usually always first-choice for the national team, since Martin Datheim broke his wrist eight years ago, Karlstad was drafted in as a long-term replacement. But then he seemed to be on a downhill roll recently for club and country. Initially replaced by Andreas Mikkelsen, his new replacement’s injury in AOCAF 45 saw Karlstad return to favour. He will likely start in goal for Semarland, and if he does, he is a reliable and dependable goalkeeper for his club and country.

#2 - RB - Eirik Malsen - Age 31 - Molsbik Arkjet - 69 caps - 1 goal
All managers that have played Malsen agree that he is one of Semarland’s best ever right-backs in history. He is the perfect right-back, not too attacking, not too defensive. At 30 he still has his pace and he is a brilliant tackler. Starting off at Eikborg Club, he moved to Molsbik Arkjet at 22 for a bargain £3,000,000. Ever since then he has been starting choice and is currently the captain of the club. And when he broke into the national team, his coaches and peers alike knew he was the perfect player for the role.

#3 - LB - Matur Eiriksson - Age 21 - Marlborough Town (TSA) - 31 caps - 4 goals
Still at a rather young age, 21 year old left-back Matur Eiriksson has already been capped nearly 30 times, and has scored 4 goals. A product of the famous FC Jansberg academy, Eiriksson is a speedy, attacking left-back. He can play left-back, but he personally believes wing-back is the best place for him. With his whole career ahead of him, this youngster is one to watch. A recent summer move to Marlborough Town of the Sarian proves he is highly rated. He is also capable of playing at centre-back, but can be a little hot-headed sometimes.

#4 - CB - Jakob Lunds - Age 23 - Exton FC (APX) - 14 caps
After shining for the under 21 side, Henrik Jensen selected Lunds and a host of other young players for the Baptism of Fire tournament, not long ago. Lunds excelled, and was now known as one of the country’s top young centre-backs. Like many young players, Lunds was linked with moves away, and accepted an offer to go to Apox and play for Exton FC. He has a talented, solid centre-back, and has been tipped to stay in the centre-back for many more years. He was even predicted to be future captain, something likely if his performance are top quality.

#5 - CB - Nicolas Janzaard - Age 22 - FC Jansberg - 20 caps - 1 goal
Half Semar, half Mrevish, Nicolas Janzaard graduated from Pansberg’s academy and played for the Mrevish under 18 and under 21 sides before switching to Semarland. Janzaard is a solid defender, and is tipped for great things in the future. After signing for FC Jansberg, Janzaard will definitely make this space his own. However, some poor performances for his club have made Henrik Jensen opt for other centre-backs. However, he has been given the benefit of the doubt. He has a younger brother, Jonas, who plays as a forward for FC Nuholm and the Mrevish national team.

#6 - CB - Matthias Karbruck - Age 29 - Koppen Rig Force (PIS) - 41 caps
Relatively unknown at many clubs, until he signed for Krsthaven aged 26. Started off at right-back, and played for Laastne Sportsklub, Adjurgen and Molsbik Kadet before switching to centre-back at Yeyjkyavik, before signing for Krsthaven. Karbruck is an excellent centre-back, and has a great tackle and a superb header. Recently, he signed abroad in Polar Islandstates for Koppen Rig Force. Always dependable, he is also happy to play at right-back, something he did often at Krsthaven.

#7 - LW - Mads Olsen - Age 25 - Grimsby Town FC (DRV) - 23 caps - 1 goal
Speedy, fast, efficient. Mads Olsen is your dream winger. A classy, stunning player, Olsen graduated at FC Jansberg before moving to Darvale’s champions Grimsby Town FC for an undisclosed fee. Recently he has been overlooked for the national team, but after stunning club displays, Henrik Jensen has made him his first choice left winger. Also able to play in attacking midfield, too, Olsen is no doubt one of the fastest players on the team, making him a reliable asset. If he does not start, he may be used as a sub, with his blistering pace effectively destroying tired opponents.

#8 - CM - Adren Christiansen-Hallensburg - Age 38 - Krsthaven - 105 caps - 4 goals
Experience is a must for any team. And for club and country, Adren Christiansen-Hallensburg is just that. Possibly his last world cup, he is able to play in a variety of central midfield positions, defensive midfield, attacking midfield, or just in the centre, the 38 year old veteran is still a superb player. He has always been a favourite of Henrik Jensen, only missing one football tournament when Jensen has been a manager. Not to mention he has been a favourite of his previous managers, too. Noted for his precise passing and crunching tackles, this player could be a likely person to start.

#9 - FW - Jakob Larsen - Age 27 - Molsbik Arkjet - 75 caps - 40 goals
Semarland has always had a reputation for some of the best quality strikers. From the early days such as Ulrik Kenersen and Matthias Mollenheim, to more modern players like Marc Lygaard and Jakob Larsen. Yet being only 27, Jakob Larsen has smashed in 39 goals in 73 caps, which is actually quite remarkable for his age. Depending on the formation, Larsen is likely to start alongside Marc Lygaard up front, or on the right-wing, where he can also play, thus making him a versatile player.

#10 - FW - Marc Lygaard - Age 30 - FC Jansberg - 135 caps - 82 goals
The star player of the team. The captain of the team. Semarland’s leading goalscorer. Both captain and star striker for club and country, Marc Lygaard made it clear he was destined to be one of the best Semar players ever. Scoring talented goals from an early age, Lygaard graduated through the FC Jansberg academy and his been there since, making his debut at 16 years, 4 months and 23 days, making him the youngest player to play in the Premarligaen. For country, he has netted more goals than any other player. He is a guaranteed starter, and will always be a fans favourite.

#11 - RW - Tipio Runen - Age 22 - Eikborg Club - 13 caps - 3 goals
A strong right-sided player, that made his debut alongside other youngsters in the Baptism of Fire. For his club, he is a free scoring right-winger/striker and is looking to replicate that form for his country. Notched 14 goals in 33 games for the under 21 team so far. Renowned for his pace and strength, he can operate either on the wing, as said, or as an attacker. Like other young players, Tipio Runen is definitely one player you should watch.

#12 - GK - Martin Datheim - Age 38 - Krsthaven - 106 caps
A veteran goalkeeper, Martin Datheim has been a part of Semarland’s national football team ever since day one. Talented at saving long shots, as well as penalties. This World Cup will be Datheim’s last, as well as this season. He plays his club football for Krsthaven, the team he supports and the team he has been at for his whole life. He has a younger brother, Janko, who plays for Dayton FC in Darvale.

#13 - CB - Per Olsen - Age 29 - Ærlo Sport - 59 caps - 3 goals
Per Olsen is what you could call a “Centre-back for hire”. That is, because he is a quality centre-back who clubs across the country have been chasing since he was a first-year scholar. He has played for numerous clubs, such as Eikland Sport, Lusenhagen, Adjurgen, Molsbik Arkjet, Fransborg set Njilkaer and now Ærlo Sport. Said to be playing at the best of his career, if any centre-back gets injured Olsen will be selected in a flash.

#14 - DM - Yacouba Sakho - Age 24 - Krsthaven - Uncapped
Yacouba Sakho is a battling, tough, gritty, defensive midfielder. Younger cousin of ex-NT left-back Marcel Sakho, Yacouba is a graduate from Krsthaven’s academy and his only just recently returned from an overseas loan in Canacia. He will never give up, something that Henrik Jensen values, and will fight to the end. As well as defensive midfield (which is his favourite position), he can fill in any midfield role, providing it is central. Attacking midfield, one of those, works quite well for him. Despite being uncapped, he is one to watch.

#15 - CM - Steffan Poulsen - Age 26 - Adjurgen - Uncapped
Another uncapped player included in Henrik Jensen’s squad is Adjurgen central midfielder Steffan Poulsen. With a perfect pass, great vision and superb awareness, Poulsen was snapped up by 2Ligaen title favourites Adjurgen in their push for promotion. Happily playing in central midfield or defensive midfield, Poulsen is tipped to be a key player for the national team in the future.

#16 - AM - Demba Cisse - Age 23 - FC Nuholm - 25 caps - 9 caps
Demba Cisse exploded onto the national team in the Baptism of Fire. Being Semarland’s player of the tournament, the young FC Nuholm midfielder continued to replicate his form for his country afterwards. Another more than impressive display at the AOCAF 45 followed, with Cisse receiving his second Semar player of the tournament award (his first was at the Baptism of Fire). Loyal to his club, he rejected moves from big clubs such as FC Jansberg, Krsthaven and Molsbik Arkjet. Definitely one to watch.

#17 - LW - Claes Naemstad - Age 26 - Ærlo Sport - 1 cap - 1 goal
Versatile left-winger or striker Claes Naemstad has been the shining star of a struggling Ærlo Sport over the past few years. Making a few appearances for Semarland B, he has been overlooked for the national team until Henrik Jensen decided to call him up for a friendly against Matykland. Starting the game, Naemstad netted the first goal and assisted the third and fifth. Impressed by his display, Naemstad has been called up however he may not start. But if he does or comes on as a sub, he will either play on the left wing or up front.

#18 - RW - Andreas Jansen - Age 39 - FC Kolberg - 121 caps - 21 goals
A national team player since the age of 17, Andreas Jansen has continued and still is to be one of Semarland’s best ever players. He can play anywhere in the midfield. A tricky winger. A solid holding midfielder. A box-to-box central player. But his best is an attacking midfielder. He doesn’t usually score goals, he creates them. Still going on, Jansen has vowed to continue his professional career until he is 45, but has said he will retire from the international stage after the end of this World Cup. The vice-captain of the team, he will likely start on the right-wing or any other central midfield role.

#19 - RB - Ole Mikkelsen - Age 25 - Unattached - 5 caps
Right-back or centre-back Ole Mikkelsen becomes the first ever unattached player to play for Semarland at a tournament. Well, this proves he has quality, because it’s rather rare to see unattached players in a World Cup (most of the time). Well, Henrik Jensen obviously has faith in this dependable, solid right-back. Formerly playing in New Silbodale, Mikkelsen was released in the Summer. He lacks pace now, but his superb defending can make up for that. Also has a decent cross on him, too. Will happily play at centre-back if needed.

#20 - LB - Rasmus Norregaard - Age 20 - FC Nuholm - Uncapped
There is always a speedy, attacking left-back when you need one in Semarland. This time, Jensen has looked to FC Nuholm’s left-back Rasmus Norregaard. Despite being uncapped, he has shown lots of potential in domestic games and a few appearances for Semarland B convinced Jensen to include him in the squad. Alongside his pace, he also has a bit of flair, too. Some fancy tricks from him are not uncommon. But he is self-disciplined and knows when not to do it. Is also a good tackler, and can whip the ball away from an opponent like lightning.

#21 - ST - Yannick Simeone - Age 19 - Molsbik Arkjet - Uncapped
Uncapped striker Yannick Simeone is not just a goal poacher. Scoring quite a lot for Molsbik Arkjet, Simeone has been tipped as the next Jakob Larsen, due to the two being club-mates and playing style. With a great eye for goal, Simeone personally thinks he will be most effective as a “super-sub”, able to poach a quick goal or two late on in the game. But he is also thankful for Jensen, as he has shown faith in a lot of young and uncapped players.

#22 - GK - Marco Valbuena - Age 20 - FC Chippenham - Uncapped
After shining at the Di Bradini Cup, then-Krsthaven goalkeeper Marco Valbuena was highly tipped for a national team place. A move to The Sarian to play for FC Chippenham could have boosted his chances, and with the retirement of Martin Datheim, a place in the squad for Marco Valbuena could look very likely indeed. A top shot stopper for the under 21s, manager Henrik Jensen thinks Valbuena is ready to step up to the national team.

#23 - AM - Abel Nkutu - Age 24 - FC Jansberg - 2 caps
Tricky on the wing, or creative in attacking midfielder, Abel Nkutu is definitely one of Semarland’s most underrated players. Graduating from FC Kolberg’s academy, he was snapped up by league champions FC Jansberg, where he has featured in nearly all of their league games this season - starting most of them. Capable either on the wing, attacking midfield, or a support striker or even up front, Nkutu is a versatile player. He gets many assists and is also starting to score quite a few, too.

TACTICALLY SPEAKING - 4-2-3-1
Semarland will line up as a 4-2-3-1 formation. Jorgen Karlstad will start in goal, as usual first-choice Andreas Mikkelsen is injured. Matur Eiriksson, Jakob Lunds, Matthias Karbruck and Eirik Malsen will make up the back four. Adren Christiansen-Hallensburg and Andreas Jansen will slot into defensive midfield, with Mads Olsen and Tipio Runen on the wings. Demba Cisse will play in attacking midfield, with captain Marc Lygaard as the striker. On the substitutes bench are Claes Naemstad, Abel Nkutu and Yannick Simeone, who could all be great players to throw on if the Semars need a win. Two talented but uncapped defensive/central midfielders Yacouba Sakho and Steffan Poulsen will be ready if needed, as will centre-backs Nicolas Janzaard and Per Olsen. Rasmus Noregaard and Ole Mikkelsen are reserve full-backs, and finally Martin Datheim and Marco Valbuena are the last two goalkeepers.

The Semarlandic game is fast and attacking. The creative force is a triangle spearhead by Demba Cisse, and defensive midfielders Andreas Jansen and Adren Christiansen-Hallensburg, who, despite being “defensive” midfielders, are pretty creative. Mads Olsen and Tipio Runen provide excellent wing support, while Marc Lygaard, who in the words of futbaalnyheter.sem, can score a goal from anywhere in the final third, will be likely be the top scorer.

(OOC: Mostly reserve players will be playing in the game. I'll post who will play in the previous RP. If I don't/you RP before, feel free to use the WC starting squad (tactically speaking will give you a rough guide on how Semarland play.) Thanks!)

KEY PLAYERS:

Vice Captain - Andreas JANSEN

Free Kick Taker - Andreas JANSEN/Demba CISSE
Left Corner - Mads OLSEN

[b]KEEPERS

Fast Facts: When Henry McNeal strained his wrist diving for a ball in the dying minutes of FC Chippenham's season, he immediately put himself off the squad. The thirty-one-year-old ex-prodigy, now appearing to have only one cup left in him, could still join the team for the cup proper and if lucky the second half of qualifiers, but it's more than likely that McNeal will pass the beacon down to Jared Finch, with Nick Mikalay a capable reserve. For the third spot, the enigmatic A.J. Ramires has been selected. Only time will tell if the keepers can hold out.

listed in order of likeliness to start

FINCH, Jared - #3 - 26

Lauded as the next Henry McNeal, Finch is a little injury-prone, although his dexterity and penalty-kick skills are second to none. A natural leader, Finch could potentially have three cups in him, making him, although not the most mistake-free keeper, a fantastic solution to Super-Llamaland's current lack of a dominant keeper with intact wrists.

MIKALAY, Nick - #2 - 29

Solid and consistent, Nick Mikolay doesn't make highlight plays, but never gets injured and makes many saves. Good tactically but average athletically, he shouldn't be on the pitch too often, as Finch overshadows him in far too many aspects. Not that he cares, naturally, for he's a great teammate.

RAMIRES, AJ - #23 - 26

Consistently inconsistent, Ramires has a brilliant sense of tactics and is extremely athletic, but as he played in different positions until 17, still seems to lack the base instinct that could instantly deposit him into the starters' slot. Perhaps he'll come around someday?

DEFENDERS

Fast Facts: Well, that got old quickly. Like seriously. Those who were once stars of the future have suddenly matured, and the team's defense for the first time in six years has veteran leadership. With a few new additions, the Llamaneans could suddenly have a solid back wall.

REAGAN, Ryan - #9 - 32 - Sweeper/Center Back (Image Sabrefell Athletic)

Despite his age, Reagan is still one of the fastest players on the team, and with his steadily improving tactics and passing, it's no surprise Antonlescu considers him the de-facto assistant captain.

MYERS, Sebastian - #3 - 21 - Left/Center Back

Freshly graduated from the U21, Myers is one of the most active players on the pitch. With seemingly endless stamina and a runner's frame, he's also fast and can often make runs to kickstart a counterattack.

AGUDIERES, Javier - #8 - 27 - Center Back

Fantastic coverage, seems to anticipate passes at will and get there, not the best stamina, fair tackler, specializes on getting the ball and giving it a good kick to midfield. A great guy to have on defense.

NELSON, Derrick - #5 - 31 - Right Back (CAPTAIN) (The Royal Kingdom of Quebec -Montreal Koreana)

Defensive linchpin, vocal leader, ex-captain of U-21 team, could've easily made it to WC 67 had he not tore an ACL. All-around stud recovered quickly to get back on the U-21 team for "recovery", conveniently leading defensive to the Ro16 in the process. Not the best attacker but great at clearing it upfield under pressure, as well as pretty much everything else, especially that leadership of his. A few knee injuries are beginning to slow him down, but he's still a great defender, especially with coverage.

GRAY, Nicholas - #35 - 24 - Any defensive position

A great teammate, started charity before he was old enough to drive, mild Aspergers. On the playing side of things, he's athletic enough for top-notch coverage, although he struggles at clearing it.

BAY, Adam - #18 - 23 - right back/sweeper

Inconsistent but has the potential to shine. Replaces the injured/ineffective Curtis Appel. Bay should be able to substitute adequately for most positions in the endgame, making him a valuable tactical tool for Bogdan.

(Image Industus BALE, Alex - #6 - 25 - left/center back, defensive midfielder

Strong tackle-control-and-clear guy, good ball coverage, decent athleticism, slowly improving skills and instinct. Still has a reputation for being carded too often, although the cards themselves have faded away.

MIDFIELDERS

Fast Facts: The loss of Jake Wiggins will sting, but with improvements from every other player and a more balanced team, this could be one of the best Llamanean set of halfbacks ever, surpassing even the dynamic Trevor Duncan - Jared Mullin - Chris May combo from a decade or so back.

STURGEON, Kyle - #31 - 29 - Left halfback Jeckland - Nagelti Rovers)

A laid-back playmaker who can shock with short bursts, but tends to stay back and facilitate the attack. Three-sport athlete in high school is rarely injured and becoming more athletic. He still hasn't been slowed by age, and perhaps he could become a star at the World Cup.

PLAYER, Anthony - #16 - 25 - Center/right halfback

Do-anything halfback specialized in being the middleman between playmakers and shooters at the Di Bradini Cup and saw scattered appearances at the WCQ. Good leadership, ex-captain of the Royals, but has already reached his ceiling. Jack of all trades. (Jeckland - Colanso FC)

FORD, Alex - #11 - 30 - Attacking midfielder

(Image Carrubonieta II Gueti)
Fantastic shooter, can put a shot on goal from anywhere, crafty with shot placement. Loves attacking, tends to receive passes instead of pass them. Will occasionally sit out if the manager is desiring something more teamwork-y, but he's certainly a great shooter unless he's overconfident, in which case expect a smattering over the crossbar and outside the post.

FORDHAM, Bryan - #22 - 28 - Defensive/center halfback
Good all-around, poor man's version of player, quiet teammate. Not a bad shot but tends to stay back and pass around. Surprisngly good in the back four but just not good enough, but he's a versatile asset to have when you want to space the field.

DICKINSON, Tobias - #30 - 27 - Center/attacking midfielder
Great playmaker in the front third, can pass around brilliantly and good at keeping control. Not a bad shooter but tends to hang too far in front to be an effective center midfielder.

INRIQUEZ, Sebastian - #13 - 21 - wing halfback/attacking midfielder

Projected to become one of Super-Llamaland's all-time greats, Inriquez, still extraordinarily talented and athletic, although he isn't much off the field, has developed into a brilliantly agile attacking force. While he won't do much defensively, his attacking prowess and a rapidly-improving shot made him one of Adam Castronova's best weapons.

STRIKERS

Fast Facts: There's still a logjam here, with Cartwright, Powell, and Masters all starters in their own right, Ferguson and Nilssen brilliant as well, and no true vacancies in either the defense or the midfield.

CARTWRIGHT, Alex - #10 - 27 (The Royal Kingdom of Quebec - Kingston FC)

A venomous attacker who was called "the next Trevor Duncan" at eighteen, Cartwright is brilliant in the box and powerful, although not the most accurate, from long range. Solidified his star status with a flurry of goals in the qualifiers, including a hat trick against Costa de Ouro, to finish with eleven goals, before moving from the midfield to the attack and scoring another brace at the runner cup. Cartwright has slightly improved his passing game, and he's transitioned into a complete offensive player.

MASTERS, Peter - #21 - 28 (Image 1830 Cathair)

A player in LigAnia, one of the world's most prestigious leagues, Masters is an attacker. The shoot-first striker is introverted, willful, and passionate, with a brilliant PK and astoundingly quick acceleration, although he still isn't the best passer.

FERGUSON, Aidan - #18 - 25

A good playmaker with a surgeon's touch. Fairly athletic, but will take a more complementary role.

POWELL, Eden - #14 - 30

Brilliant with the finish, top-notch with penalty kicks. He's a better passer as well, and provides leadership in the box. Can score with any part of his body, but not the best beyond the penalty box. Great tactically if only decent athletically. (Image Inter Binar)

NILSSEN, Kristopher - #16 - 23

Nilssen is sublime on the attack, keeping opponents constantly guessing with his combination of speed, agility, and creativity. While still unfinished, Nilssen could be starting in front of players like Masters and Powell once the cup ends.

INJURY RESERVE

BENNETT, Lucas - 25 - GK
MYERS-BRIGGS, Sagan - 23 - DF
ÇESKY, Cameron - 26 - DF
ALLEN, Hadrian - 29 - DF
MONTGOMERY, Karl - 23 - MF
MARQUEZ, Jefferson - 31 - MF (Image Honneur)
ESTRELLINE, Alexis - 23 - MF
McKENZIE, Michael - 26 - ST (Image Deline Athletic)
RAYMOND, Angel - 28 - ST (Image Sieberg)

MANAGER

Bogdan Antonescu - A banteng cow straight out of Furellum, where he's coached every national team squad but the current one along with the successful U-15 team. Also, he's a cow and definitely not Llamanean, which is irking many a sportswriter. Tactically flexible and mentorally fantastic, he could see a long and prosperous career for the Tigers. Or be assassinated.

COACHING STAFF

Eric Bayern - 67
Trevor Duncan - 43
Kathryn Pederssen - 51

TRAINER - Rob Grady - 46

About SJG National Team

The disaster has finished, after being the favorites to qualify for the WC in his group, a last MD nghtmare sent them to fight for the other side of the glory in the Cup of Harmony, despite getting a perfect nine points group stage, the team was knocked off by Brenecia in the Round of 16 in Penalty Kicks after a suffered 2-2 tie for 120 minutes but a rather good participation in the Campionato Esportiva when they achieved the Round of 24 and were knocked off by the team who finished as third.

The time for WC arrived and this edition has a special ingredient, San José Guayabal will co-host it together with Equestrian States, adding more pressure than expected to the National Team, the automatic qualification to the finals gave a good oportunity to the team who was picked out earlier than expected in order to get more preparation seeking for victory at home in the finals. Everything is served and our guys have the best chance to show his quality to the world in their nation, a lifetime opportunity that they won't like to "throw it to the trash can".

As we can see here, the roster of SJG features a somewhat-shaped like an hexagon line up where Mathias Paatelainen chosen to use three defenders with some experience like James Moreira and Meyson Salume, both can act as key players if we talk about the realization of transitions to offensive plays meanwhile Passarelli is the team sweeper and also most experienced of the team in terms of playing in the international scene, specifically in UICA tournaments. In the midfield we can see a rhombus shaped position of four players, being Saucedo and Bregoo a kind of fake forwards due to the changing role of the tactical system that can feature five forwards in case of need and Núñez together with Valencia can be sorta defence in case of need. In resume this strategy helps in defence and attacking because it can turn into a 3-2-5 in attacking moments or a 5-2-3 in defending moments, creating a complete system that can help the team to achieve victory at any cost.

Most Likely to be replaced: Meyson Salume

Play style: The game who SJG does, is essentially technical, based on the agility of movement of players, using his intelligence for the game for single passes that are very accurate, they like to accumulate players when attacking or using the surprise factor which is use the speed of the players to perform counterattacks that can hurt any team, taking in consideration that this is a team that thinks in score the goals ASAP instead of defending, something that they do when they face a football powerhouse or a extremely offensive team.

In the defence area, they tend to use more physical to play aggressively without injuring the rivals, except that the defenders are of medium height, stands that are agile in the aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat thereby, expect always a fair game from this team but they are capable to seek scoring the biggest amount of goals as fastest as possible.

Players like try long-distance shots to beat the goalkeeper, but SJG can have more surprises because it is a team that does not give up that easy and also they can try with the set-pieces factor with some weird moves or using the height of some players like Arbol Saucedo and Mattías Passarelli.

The Manager

Mathias Paatelainen 64 Y/O, Nationality: Polarian (Valhallan)

Considered as an "old fox" by many analysts all over the Multiverse, emphasis in Rushmore, this manager has an excellent experience across domestic teams in Polar Islandstates and with a somewhat recognizable as the championship triumph achieved a couple of seasons ago in the Lattitude Cup with Red Star Severny, after leaving his country to face its first challenge in national teams, Paatelainen has achieved a good level with nacinal selection, achieving many successes and also leading her to her first WC Finals in just three years building the national team, but has fallen into a little bump, the coach with an offensive vision game plans to recover the level of the national team and have to rise to the level of Multiverse and avoid the reputation of being a "yoyo" team.

Starting XI Bio

Henry "Spider" Hernández 25 Y/O, Goalkeeper of AC Tallin (VLD)

The player in charge of the last defence bastion on the team, Hernández has demonstrated that he's a very secure goalkeeper during the last three cycles, specially the last one when we reached the WC Finals and he saved our goal from several goal chances from the rival sides, now Hernández wants to allow less goals than the last campaign, with the sole purpose of leading SJG for his second WC appearance.

James Moreira 19 Y/O, Left Defender of Nhorton vo Mirrun (PDT)

Young but experienced, Moreira is the typical player who can receive love or hate, his special location in the roster mades him a key player in terms related to defending, being the sweeper but also being one of the creators of the game, despite falling in nerves sometimes the youngest of their football dynasty family as the Moreiras are, his good leadership and attitude makes him being an excellent player in the team.

Mattías Passarelli 25 Y/O, Central Defender of Delare Minon (YTT)

The oldest of the defenders in the Starting XI and also the one with more experience in the team, Mattías played in the NT since they were an almost amateur-ish side, he played in Alianza FC and achieved three titles, enough to do his move to the Yttribian powerhouse of Delare Minon, when he got another three league tournaments including one solid run in the UICA Globe Cup made him a worship idol for the fans of the team, he doesn't plans to move of the team, because he feels the love of the fans.

Meyson Salume 18 Y/O, Right Defender of East Franz Athletic (PIS)

The reliable Salume is back, after being injured for some matches, the strongest player of the teams is now in action to keep the order in the defence, his role is defend but he does the task of midfielder quite often, his strong point of being tall makes him an ideal player to keep the National Team without many troubles, but his slow speed can make some trouble over there, and can do more due to his motivaion caused due to his arrival to Polarian lands

Rudy Valencia 23 Y/O, Midfielder (Destroyer) of Oakstone (EUR)

The globetrotter of San José Guayabal, a player who did his labour in three nations like Mangolana, and Chiata, now is in Eura to show his quality, Valencia's role is being the destroyer of any attempt of play creation in the midfield, his confidence is a strong point for him but his loose reaction when gets booked it's a trouble for SJG, specially to avoid red cards.

Sebastián Núñez 20 Y/O, Left Midfielder of SK Nasjonale Hauker (PIS)

Probably one of the youngest promises for Guayabalense football in the future, Núñez is one of the interesting players to follow in the team due to his special moves in the midfield, a player who wants to kick the ball from far as possible and pput it inside of the opposite goal, Núñez is more offensive than the average midfielder in terms of moves across the pitch.

Leónidas Bregoo 25 Y/O Midfielder of FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls (PIS)

The Rulandese borned but Guayabalian by nationality Leónidas Bregoo is actually the heart of the midfield with his team mate Rudy Valencia, Brego is essential in the midfield specially at the moment of being offensive or defensive due to his time-pacing function in the field, with good skills as headers, long crossed passes and long distance shots, considering his good height of 195 cms, is a good header in the area, in conclusion he's the heart of the team.

Árbol "Tree" Saucedo 21 Y/O, Right Midfielder of Wye United (APX)

The tallest of the team, say hi to the 202 cms high player of Avenida Leal. Saucedo is without doubt the main weapon of the team in headers and also one of the main defenders, taking advantage of his size Saucedo tends to run fast in counterattacks, with a speed worthy to compete with the best in the Games of the Olympiad.

Sean "Black Panther" Fraser 25 Y/O, Right Striker of Bjarnarey Flotilla (PIS)

The top scorer of all the time in the National Team, the useful Sean Fraser is a deadly weapon in the strikers zone, counterattacks, long shots and headers makes him a player who can score in any way possible in any moment, dangerous by his skill and technical game with the dribbling, is a headache for the defenders.

Jonathan "Atomic Flea" Faña 27 Y/O, Left Striker of Oljestaden IF (AUD)

Little in size but relevant in speed, the "Flea" tends to be very technical and does a lot of dribbles, he can't shot so well from large distances but his excellent speed and counterattack skills makes him a rather interesting player to follow, the bad thing is that he's overconfident and can fail goals even in front of the goal, even if the Goalkeeper was beated by his drible. Well he has a bad luck.

Rodolfo "Fito" Zelaya: 25 Y/O Striker of Northbrook Diamonds (PIS)

Considered the SJG's best player good among the groups of football experts and fans all around in the country, the 25 years old player born in Islas Canarias near the Esportivan South Pole is a player that features good skills if we talk on the goal scoring and headers being the most accurate player if we talk of shots to goal, this crack is the one to put the spotlight on and his strong point is definitively the long distance shots taking in consideration his good skills at bending balls.

THE JECKISH FOOTBALL BOARD

Presents

THE JECKLAND ROSTER FOR WORLD CUP 70 AND OPENER TROPHY

Overview
After a bright start, Jeckish football has somewhat faded in recent years. Another fifth placed finish in the World Cup 69 qualifying group was disappointed as the side failed to kick on. After a group stage exit of the Runner Cup it became clear that manager Evans was under pressure from some sections of the support. A poor showing in their debut Campionato Esportiva, only making the round of 24, forced the JFB into action. Now, with new players and foreign management, can Jeckland fulfil the promise they looked to have a few years ago?

Manager

Habib Kouli | 44 years old
After Osarian club Hastmead paid big money to sign him at just 19 years of age, Kouli played for the club for seventeen years, before a two year loan to AFC Carbonia as a player/coach. Once returning from this loan he retired from playing and took up a job as Hastmead youth team coach, where he has been sucessful for several years. After Jeckland dismissed Lee Evans following a poor showing in the Campionato Esportiva, the JFB moved to capture Kouli for the next WC cycle.

Players

GK | Toby Thompson | 24 years old | #1 | Blakked Starre y'Quygge (Paradystopia)
A member of the inaugural squads for BoF55 and WC68, a lot has changed from the 20 year old third keeper of those days. After moving from floundering Ordbury Athletic to pastures new with Blakked Starre y'Quygge of Paradystopia, Thompson is now the best Jeckish shot stopper there is, and the injury of Lee Evans gives him a chance to prove his worth for the national side. His distribution is his weak area, with some critics saying he throws the ball too much.

GK | Jacob Curtis | 28 years old | #13 | Kyslo (Jeckland)
A player desrving of his chance in the side after several years of excellence at Kyslo. His loyalty is one of his best traits, having beaten back offers from bigger clubs to stay at his boyhood club. Now 28, the keeper is in his prime and as such has been called up to the main squad. His best attribute is his positioning, not only of himself but of his defence at corners and free kicks, but he is slow off the mark.

GK | Sam Henderson | 20 years old | #23 | Salvador FC (The Sarian)
Ghindon must be kicking themselves. A fallout between them and this talented young keeper resulted in them selling him at a cut price deal to Salvador FC of The Sarian. This is his first call up for the national squad, and he will be keen to show his sharp reflexes off, though his inexperience in first team football means he isn't the best decision maker at times.

RB | Joe O'Neill | 25 years old | #2 | Mortsey (Jeckland)
O'Neill rose through the ranks at Mortsey, and took on the mantle of Jeckish NT right-back from the aging Harry Pressley. Although initially seen as the best of a weak bunch, O'Neill has learnt and developed into the role, making it his own. His tackling is his strong suit, with the fact he likes to go in hard not causing many fouls or cards. He is however lacking in some of the attacking ability seen in most modern full backs.

RB | Louis Dobson | 29 years old | #17 | Colanso City (Jeckland)
You don't usually see uncapped 29 year olds given squad places, but then again you don't usually see cases like this. Dobson had the season of his life as he captained Colanso City to a remarkable title, and he has been given a national team berth as a result. He plays wing back for his club, which means he offers plenty going forward, but he may well choose to do so too often.

CB | Richard Barker (Captain) | 32 years old | #6 | Mortsey (Jeckland)
The Mortsey and Jeckland captain is still as good as ever. Having captained the national team from it's first ever game, he is a player close to the hearts of every Jeckland fan. His age is not a concern now, with no decline is his performance over the past few years, though at 32, this could well be his last cycle. He is a great organiser and wins almost every aerial ball, however he was never the quickest player and his age has not helped this.

CB | Joe Harnett | 25 years old | #5 | Mortsey (Jeckland)
The other half of what is becoming a notorious centre back pairing, Harnett credits his captain as one of the players who helped make him who he is. That being said, he is a different mould of player, part of the reason the partnership has helped with so much success for Mortsey in the past. He is excellent at distributing the ball once won, starting counter attacks more frequently than you'd expect from a centre back, but lacks aerial presence.

CB | Fraser Doyle | 27 years old | #15 | Gorgona City (The Sarian)
Been around the national squad for a good while, without ever threatening to cement a first team place. One of the many Ordbury Athletic players to jump ship after their recent poor season, he now plies his trade in The Sarian with Gorgona City. He is excellent at winning the ball in unlikely situations, however has a tendency to abandon his position and chase the ball.

CB | Joel Barton | 25 years old | #20 | Colanso City (Jeckland)
Another of the crop of Jeckish players emerging from Colanso City's season, this centre back had a stellar campaign and has earned his spot in the squad. It hasn't been an easy ride for him, having initially been released as a young player before proving his worth. His positioning is second to none, however critics say he doesn't aim to win the ball enough, instead standing off the ball.

LB | Jonathan Murray | 23 years old | #3 | Nagelti Rovers (Jeckland)
After the decline of Roman Hermanez, this exciting player has risen to the fore as his successor in the left-back position after shining in the last couple of seasons for his club, Nagelti Rovers. He will be keen to cement this place for years to come in this cycle. He has incredible pace coupled with good acceleration which make him a formidable opponent, however he is very left footed and his right does little more than prop him up.

LB | Leon Gardiner | 24 years old | #18 | Serbury (Jeckland)
A player who looks to have wasted his potential after a barren few years, but has come good of late, becoming a key figure in his club team Serbury and getting a slightly surprising call up to the national squad. He has fantastic spatial awareness, always getting into the right positions to thwart his opponents, however has a tendency to commit needless fouls and pick up cards.

RM | Carlo Henriques | 25 years old | #7 | N. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (San Jose Guayabal)
Henriques was just a promising young player when he played in the BoF. He has gone on to have an excelelnt few years, cemented his NT place, and recently procured a move to San Jose Guayabal and N. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk from struggling Ordbury. Despite his age he is seen as a senior member of the squad. He is an expert at dribbling, bamboozling defenders with mazy runs. However, for a winger his crossing is quite poor.

RM | Edward Kaur | 22 years old | #12 | Ozkar Roevres (Paradystopia)
If Kaur played in pretty much any other position, he'd probably be in the Jeckland first time. Such is the impact of his season at Panbury Town, he's gone from zero to hero and landed a move to Ozkar Roevres, although he is expected to play as a right wing back there. This takes advantage of his defensive abilities. His lack of physicality could be an issue.

CM | Micah Hoonas | 27 years old | #8 | Colanso City (Jeckland)
Well well well. After a shcoking transfer to Colanso City, Hoonas inspired them to the league title. On the national stage, he's still the main man, the national team would be a lot worse off without him and moments like that thunderous drive again Blackclyffe in the BoF. Initially an attacking midfielder, Hoonas now occupies a deeper role for club and country, though he will bomb forward. His shots are incredibly powerful, although he does have a tendency to be selfish at times which can be detrimental to the team.

CM | Logan Cole | 25 years old | #4 | Nagelti Rovers (Jeckland)
Cole burst into the national team at the Runner Cup after a strong season with Nagelti Rovers, and looks difficult to dislodge from it. An early career riddled with injuries is the only reason he hasn't reached the level he has earlier on. With great ability at winning the ball of opponents by tackling or intercepting, he plays at the back of a diamond for Nagelti Rovers, but can play further forward, although it is said that he lacks creativity in his passing.

CM | Corey Fox | 25 years old | #16 | Peswick Town (Jeckland)
After a year sidelined due to a broken leg, Fox has staged a remarkable recovery. Finding his groove in the Peswick Town midfield, he is a risky call up, although in many ways not a surprising one, given that he was on the periphery of the squad before the injury. Has a great eye for a pass, short or long, however can dwell on the ball for too long and give away possession cheaply.

CM | Owen Kemp | 22 years old | #14 | Mortsey (Jeckland)
The most surprising selection of the lot, Kemp beats Bill Wilson to the spot in the squad. It's not as if he's a bad player, having had an impressive season with Mortsey to help themto second place, however this was his first season of regular JPL football. He undoubtedly has stamina and is a box to box midfielder, but his close control is one of the reasons he is doubted.

LM | Sam Roper | 22 years old | #11 | Peswick Town (Jeckland)
A lot has changed from the wonderkid who announced himself in the BoF. Roper has matured into an accomplished left winger. Although young, he has shown signs that he may be a future captain through excellent leadership qualities, and is rumoured to soon inherit the armband at club side Peswick Town. Roper is an expert at beating his man through skill or pace, but is a touchline hugger and sometimes stays there when it would be better not to.

LM | Joseph Bowen | 22 years old | #19 | Mortsey (Jeckland)
Another of the crop of young Jeckish players expected to make their international bow this cycle, Bowen broke into the Mortsey side during the latter stages of their second title winning season and has been maruding down their left side ever since. He is a pinpoint crosser, something Jeckland have lacked in the past, however his shooting leaves much to be desired.

ST | Connor Long | 29 years old | #9 | FC New Llama (Super-Llamaland)
When the nation looked short of strikers, then Ordbury Athletic man Long stepped to the forefront. Now seen as the leading striker for the national team, he was the starin a forgettable campaign for Ordbury Athletic. Newly transferred to FC New Llama, he will be looking to prove his worth. Him main asset is his blistering pace, with few able to keep up with him, although he struggles to create chances for other team members.

ST | Alexander Parry | 29 years old | #10 | Mortsey (Jeckland)
He's not getting younger, but he is getting better. Parry has been on the periphery of the national team from the BoF but impressive performances for Mortsey over the past couple of seasons mean that he can't be overlooked any longer. He suffered an injury scare but is now fully fit in time . He is seen as a team player and excels as a supporting striker, but it is said that he doesn't score enough goals for a top striker.

ST | Oliver Whitehouse | #21 | Pikemouth (Brenecia)
What a story. After never really proving himself in Jeckland, Pikemouth of Brenecia gave him a chance, which he took and then some. After impressing in the A-League, Whitehouse will return to his home country to play in the national team for the first time. A player who is very good at finishing, but can be accused of not pulling his weight in terms of defence.

ST | Alfie Barrett | 26 years old | #22 | Colanso City (Jeckland)
After failing to impress at boyhood club Mortsey, Barrett moved to Colanso City and helped fire them to the title. He has a reputation as a hothead, however his anger on the pitch seems to have been ironed out over the past year at his new club. A flamboyant player who has a lot of flair, although this can detract from his decision making at times.

Kits
After WC69, Jeckland moved from the new closed Vulpine to Kirola Sports of Audioslavia. The new kits were worn at Runner Cup 3 and CE11, but this is the first WCC tournament they will be worn in. They are expected to be used until the end of the WC72 Cycle.

Tactics
(Style Mod +2)

Kouli will probably have little problem getting his methods across to the Jeckish players - as they know them already. They will press all over the pitch when not on the ball, making use of the high stamina levels that Jeckish players seem to have. The wigners, andto some extent the full backs, will be given plenty of the ball and told to run at the opposition full backs. Both centre backs will usually come forward for free kicks and corners, where Jeckland utilise their aerial threat. Central midfielders usually sit fairly deep and dictate play with passing, and strikers willl drop deep to collect that ball.

OOC: I will try to post a starting XI for every match, if I don't the default is this

Stadium

Home games will all be played ath the Jeckland National Sports Stadium, located in Rack City. The 100,00 seater stadium ma be used for many purposes, but it's primary function is hosting National Team football matches, and is always full for competitive games. It has all the state of the art facilities you would expect of a modern stadium, including a recently refurbished media hub and executive boxes.

POLAASKAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM, OPENER TROPHY I SQUAD

STAFF:
Manager: Ulrik Leonardsen, 51 (SEM)
Usually, most national teams won’t appoint a foreign manager as their first manager. Well, Polaaskan have. They’ve looked to experienced Semar Ulrik Leonardsen, who has managed the national teams of Matykland and Haelesces. Ulrik Leonardsen has been known to use tactics such as the 4-3-1-2, or “the Iceberg”, made famous by Polar Islandstates many cycles ago. Well, his signature one at the moment is the 4-2-3-1, or, more favourable at the moment, the 4-1-2-1-2, so look out for either of those when Polaaskan play. Other than that, Leonardsen is a rather quiet man, rarely speaking to the media. Once, when he was managing Rumenlo Sapruna in Semarland, he made his assistant speak to the media. But when it is on the pitch, he sure has a loud voice, and will be there to put the motivation behind the team.

Assistant Manager: Jakob Freidrich, 39
It’s always hard to find a good assistant that’ll go well with your manager, when they do not come together. Well, the PFA thought that 39 year old Freidrich, who led SC Martinsberg to the title in the last pre-PFA Season, would be the right man for the job. Despite his young age, Freidrich is a tactical genius. Surpisingly, Freidrich is the tactician and Leonardsen is the shouter, many think it should be the other way round! But Freidrich has stated himself he does not wish to work as the manager yet, wanting to have some more experience in his career before he goes onto managing a national team. But anyway, Freidrich is perfect for Leonardsen, and Leonarden without Freidrich will be like cereal without milk.

PLAYERS:
#1 - GK - Teemu Petersen - Age 25 - SK Martinsberg - 11 Caps
Towering goalkeeper Teemu Petersen kept the most cleansheets out of any other goalkeeper in the last three pre-PFA seasons. With some slight Semar ancestry, he was even asked to play for the Semarland national team, as Polaaskan did not even have an FA, let alone a national team. But Petersen refused and kept loyal to his country, believing that one day that national call-up will come. And here he is, No.1 for his club and No.1 for his country, going to Polaaskan’s first ever football tournament, the Baptism of Fire, and then the 70th World Cup. What more could be better for Teemu? Aside from that, he has a good relationship with his team mates, and is the perfect goalkeeper for Leonardsen and Freidrich’s plans.

#2 - RB - Jonathan van Leonardsen - Age 23 - SCKH - 9 caps
Jonathan van Leonardsen is the perfect definition of a wing-back. Marauding, fast, an outstanding cross. One of the fastest players on the team, van Leonardsen could easily have been a sprinter, like his father and uncle. But, after being scouted by Nq85 at 9 years old, van Leonardsen never looked back and secured a move to SCKH as soon as the trials ended. Drawing comparisons to the likes of Magnus Hardstrom and Petter Berg, who never got to play for the national team, van Leonardsen is highly rated. Probably going to be selected over the more defensive Timo Asker, van Leonardsen could make this right-back spot all his for many years to come.

#3 - LB - Vasili Semshov - Age 24 - Oslo Klub - 11 caps
Vasili Semshov, like van Leonardsen on the right-hand side, is a wing-back. Though he does not have exactly blistering pace like van Leonardsen, he’s still fast and has all the other qualities of a wing-back. Semshov, like other players, started off at Azhlesk Dynamos, before moving to SK Lundsholm at 12 years old. At the end of his scholarship, he was surprisingly released but picked up by Oslo Klub, who nurtured and transformed into a marauding, attacking left-back who eventually went on to play as a wing-back. Comfortable with both feet, Semshov is a born starter and will be looking to get as many assists for his country as he does with his club.

#4 - CB - Nikolay Dimitrov - Age 28 - Azhlesk Dynamos - 2 caps
Looking for a hulking centre-back? You’ve found Nikolay Dimitrov. At 28 years old, his time in the national team may be cut short, not only due to age, but a little niggling injury that often occurs every few months. For some reason, Dimitrov is not the player he used to be, and is likely to lose his spot. But when he’s on the field, he can play like a captain, and has an excellent tackle that always wins the ball but can sometimes trip an opponent. He does not have the grace as other centre-backs like Markus Pallessen, he’s more of a “demolition man”, as Leonardsen called him. But if he plays, forwards beware, because you’re unlikely to score when Dimitrov’s about.

#5 - CB - Sol Arke - Age 28 - SK Martinsberg - 11 caps, 2 goals - CAPTAIN
Like Dimitrov, Arke is a hulking, intimidating centre-back. But he rarely gets injured and has always got a winning mentality. Impressing for SK Martinsberg, Freidrich has persuaded Leonardsen to make Arke captain, which is a very good decision. Fearless and bold, Arke is the perfect centre-back. Always winning the ball off an opponent, Arke can then follow up with a long clearance or he can pick a perfect pass to find a team-mate. Arke impressed in the trials, as Leonardsen stated he was “the best centre-back there”, so he looks to have nailed his spot and written his name all over it. He also has an amazing header, scoring his first goal for the team in their second match with a bulllet header.

#6 - DM - Frans Laurensen - Age 32 - Dynamo Renesburg - 10 caps
Frans Laurensen is the right person for the defensive midfield slot. Only venturing into the final third when told, Laurensen’s job is to tackle the opposition before they get to the sticky end that is Sol Arke, then distribute the ball out to more attacking players. Laurensen was a candidate for the captaincy, but was overlooked. This and the next will probably be his only world cups, as Laurensen is now 32 years old. But age does not matter for the Renesburg holding midfielder. Watching him play, you’ll find him to be in the mold of the Semar holding midfielders Adren Christiansen-Hallensburg and Morten Poulsen.

#7 - LW - Lukas Karlstrom - Age 23 - SK Martinsberg - 11 caps, 2 goals
Clever and fast, Lukas Karlstrom is comfortable on the wing, or playing as an attacking midfielder. Either way, he will be bound to create a goal, or even score one himself. With incredible pace and an outstanding cross, Karlstrom is highly rated. Being chased by numerous clubs, Karlstrom is rather loyal to SK Martinsberg, being one of their core players. But he’ll happily play for anyone, as long as he starts, which is something he may not get as Leonardsen’s 4-3-1-2 does not suit him, with the “3” being too inner, and the “1” likely to be taking up by young star Jon van Axelsen or even Iiro Mihaylov. However, when he does play he will definitely be one to watch.

#8 - CM - Iiro Mihaylov - Age 24 - Red Star Slazhnov - 11 caps, 3 goals
Creative and technical, Iiro Mihaylov always performs to the best of his ability. Whether it be in the centre of the park, or in the attacking midfield slot he usually plays in, Mihaylov is a creative playmaker who is always hard to win the ball off. Famous for scoring the first goal of the trials, Mihaylov scores goals but will usually create them more. Having the highest assists rate for Red Star Slazhnov, Mihaylov, like most of the national team, is being highly looked at and chased by a number of clubs, both domestic and foreign. But nonetheless, Mihaylov will most likely be in the starting lineup and is eager and keen to impress on the big stage, as is his coaches are for him to do so too.

#9 - FW - Patrik Ael - Age 25 - Southwik Hardcastles - 7 caps, 2 goals
Patrik Ael is the typical target man - tall, strong and good at scoring goals. He usually scores more goals via his head than rather his foot, but either way, he is still capable at scoring from both. Usually preferred for the target man role over Willem Jakobsen, Ael will likely start alongside Timo Heinckel up front. Currently playing for Southwik Hardcastles, his home team, Ael is looking to stay there for quite a long time, which the club will be very very grateful for as he is a key player in the team and their main source of goals. He’ll be looking to replicate his club form for the national team, too, and with the way he is playing at the moment that wish looks guaranteed.

#10 - FW - Timo Heinckel - Age 26 - SK Kristiansberg - 11 caps, 10 goals
Every team will always have that star striker. That one who scores a goal a game, is always on target, first choice. Well, Polaaskan have Timo Heinckel. 26 years old Heinckel is expected to leave SK Kristiansberg for a bigger club, either in Polaaskan or either in a foreign country. He has gained fans from across the country, even his club’s rivals MK Aalmokjestar’s fans are praising and loving Heinckel. One of the best players in the trials, Heinckel is an amazing striker, who can score from virtually anywhere in the final third. Whether it be a simple tap in from five yards or a blazing screamer from 40 yards, you can guarantee Timo Heinckel will score.

#11 - RW - Mikke Leonardsen - Age 27 - FC Aaneshel - 7 caps
Mikke Leonardsen thoroughly impressed the coaches with his darting runs, fancy dribbles and sharp goals. In five appearances he netted three times and assisted twice. He also won two Man of the Match performances. Aside from that, Leonardsen is a right-side midfielder - comfortable on either the wing or in a more central position. He has said himself he’s more suited to a more central role, somewhere that the manager will play him in a 4-3-1-2 formation. He can also be used as a support striker or an attacking midfielder if really needed, but he’ll most likely started on the right-hand side.

#12 - GK - Aleks Johansen - Age 23 - Sudbricks - 2 caps
Usually, playing as a goalkeeper for a second-division club won’t get you a place in the national team. But for Aleks Johansen, it has. A reliable back-up keeper with a good frame, Johansen, despite having these qualities, won’t likely play at all. He was the star keeper for Beta Squad in the trials, as well as being the youngest goalkeeper there altogether. But with Petersen and Sokolov to compete with, playing time is expected to be low at the most for the Sudbricks goalkeeper.

#13 - CB - Markus Pallesen - Age 27 - North Estenlund Rovers - 2 caps
Seeing graceful centre-backs this days is fairly uncommon. Well, Markus Pallessen is graceful and composed on the ball, and an excellent passer. With these qualities, he might as well be a midfielder you’d think, but no, he’s a centre-back. He can calmly whip the ball away from the opponent, then play it expertly outfield. He would probably be starting alongside Arke at centre-back, but he carries an injury from the first friendly against Polaaskan B, so he won’t be playing for quite a few games, which is quite a blow seeing as Nikolay Dimitrov carries an injury as well. But not to fear, Pallessen will be back soon - and opponents better get ready.

#14 - AM - Jon van Axelsen - Age 17 - SK Bauhaus - 6 caps, 1 goal
Talented young prodigy was a surprise call up to the trials, let alone the squad, for some at first. But when they saw his immense talent, reminiscent of that of Semarland’s Demba Cisse and Polar Islandstates’ Alexsandr van Sorensen, they disagreed with their earlier thought. Proudly the first person ever to score a goal for the national team, with a blistering screamer against Polaaskan B, van Axelsen is not only a born goalscorer but a creator too, which makes him the perfect attacking midfielder. Already playing in the first team of Divisjon Two club SK Bauhaus, van Axelsen is very likely to move away.

#15 - RW - Johan Pekarik - Age 24 - Northbrook Volcano FK - 9 caps, 1 goal
Pacy with an amazing cross, Johan Pekarik is your perfect winger. Star player for Northbrook Volcano, Pekarik is one of the most highly thought of players in the squad. Despite making only a few trial appearance, Pekarik impressed the whole coaching team, with his lightning fast runs and perfect crossers. Pekarik can also get a cross in too. Pekarik can also play in centre-midfield only if needed, as well as that he is a capable attacking midfielder. Thanks to his brilliant play, he looks to have made the right-wing berth his own.

#16 - FW - Willem Jakobsen - Age 28 - North Estenlund Rovers - 5 caps
Willem Jakobsen is yet another target man - tall with a great header. He is a stronger player than Ael, but scores less goals than him. However, Jakobsen is strong and holds up the ball very well - something that can prove to be quite valuable for the team. But, he is fourth in the pecking order behind Heinckel, Ael and Blonqvist, but may well come on as a substitute occasionally. Other than that, Jakobsen plays for North Estenlund Rovers, one of the bigger clubs. He is one of their best strikers, and if he is in good form for them, Jakobsen could cement a regular place in the national team.

#17 - CM - Riko van Bommel - Age 29 - FC Roslenborg - 6 caps, 1 goal
More of a driving, attacking midfielder than a more neutral, central midfielder, Riko van Bommel is a combative, all-action, box-to-box midfielder who won’t back down for anybody. Always showing true grit and fighting spirit, van Bommel is very tough. However, his downside that he fouls the opposition quite often. Playing for FC Roslenborg, he’ll be looking to leave after an argument with the management team, which would also benefit the club as he is worth quite a lot.

#18 - FW - Heiko Blonqvist - Age 26 - Azhlesk Dynamos - 10 caps, 3 goals
It’s very, very hard to believe that a talented striker like Heiko Blonqvist is playing Polaaskan’s second division. Yes, that’s right, Blonqvist is the shining light of the side of Azhlesk Dynamos, situated in the remote Azhlesk region of Polaaskan. Blonqvist is a talented striker who will most likely be used as a “super sub”. He is capable of scoring crucial goals late in the game, but is also a very good starter too.

#19 - RB - Timo Asker - Age 26 - 1. FC Stagnov Athletic - 4 caps
Timo Asker is the more defensive right-back on the team, but of course he loves going forward. Another player, like Blonqvist, playing in DivisjonTwo, for Stagnov, Asker is one of those talented players that will likely move to the Premardivisjon or abroad. Starting of Czechny Yulinsk of the fifth tier’s academy, Asker only recently was signed by Stagnov for 2.5 million, a record in the 5th division. Nevertheless, Asker will be quick to spring into action if anything happens to van Leonardsen. Also, he is capable at playing in the centre-back role, something Ulrik Leonardsen will value very much.

#20 - LB - Artem Makarov - Age 20 - 1.FC Rakavolzhniya - 1 cap
Under-21 left-back Artem Makarov was picked over BoF reserve Soren Akselsen, and trialists Dimitri Lukansson and Knut Normansson. A speedy, attacking left-back, just like Vasili Semshov, Makarov has lots of potential. Definitely one to watch for the moment.

#21 - DM - Christian Hogg - Age 28 - Oslo Klub - 10 caps - Vice-captain
Every team needs that gritty, no-nonsense, tough defender. That’s right, Polaaskan have got Christian Hogg. Capable of playing in defensive midfield, or at the moment centre-back, where he will likely start due to the slight injuries of Nikolay Dimitrov and Markus Pallessen going into the tournament. Regardless, he will be likely starting, being the vice-captain for the team. Hogg plays domestically at Oslo Klub, a mid-table side looking to achieve greater things. Like quite a few of the team, Hogg is linked with a move abroad. Depending on his form in the tournament, this could realistically happen.

#22 - GK - Timo Sokolov - Age 24 - Matsholm Athletic - 2 caps
Timo Sokolov is your perfect back-up. He hardly makes mistakes, and has a good mentality on and off the pitch. However, he faces second or probable third choice due to Leonardsen’s preference of Teemu Petersen and Aleks Johansen. But then again, if Leonardsen needs a reliable keeper, Sokolov’s the right man for the job.

#23 - FW - Renat Lindquist - Age 19 - SC Kristiansberg - 1 cap
Renat Lindquist has smacked in loads of goals for his club, SC Kristiansberg, and has also shown lots of talent. Replacing Soren Kvist, he has bags of potential. Lindquist was one of the original 92 in the football trials, but did not make the final 46 due to an injury, which was quite a setback for Polaaskan. And when he plays, he’ll be an excitement to watch.

TACTICALLY SPEAKING - 4-1-2-1-2
Polaaskan will play as a 4-1-2-1-2, with Teemu Petersen in goal, Vasili Semshov at left-back, Sol Arke and Christian Hogg, (both captain and vice-captain respectively), in the centre-back roles. Jonathan van Leonardsen will start at right-back. Frans Laurensen will be the defensive midfielder, with Lukas Karlstrom on the left side and Mikke Leonardsen on the right, with Iiro Mihaylov as the attacking midfielder. Timo Heinckel and Heiko Blonqvist will likely start up front, although Leonardsen may want to substitute Blonqvist with Patrik Ael instead. Johan Pekarik and young prodigy Jon Van Axelsen will be itching to come off the bench, while Willem Jakobsen and Renat Lindquist will provide reliable back-up strikers. Riko van Bommel is also capable of playing the defensive midfield role. Hogg may return to that, if Pallesen or Dimitrov return from injury and start at centre-back.

Tactically speaking, Karlstrom, Mihaylov and Leonardsen will be the creative force, striving to assist Heinckel and Blonqvist up front. Laurensen will be there to cover Arke and Hogg, with wing-backs Semshov and van Leonardsen providing extra wing support. The Polaa game is fast and explosive, so get ready for some exciting football!

(OOC: Mostly reserve players will be playing in the game. I'll post who will play in the previous RP. If I don't/you RP before, feel free to use the WC starting squad (tactically speaking will give you a rough guide on how Polaaskan play.) Thanks!)

RACAO ROSTER FOR OPENER TROPHY 1>>>

GOALKEEPERS >>>
SAKOTO >>> GK (26) Sakoto is one of Racao's most experienced goalkeepers. Despite being one of the older players on Racao's team, Sakoto still possesses reflexes and wit. Sakoto, like many of the Racaoan players on this roster, grew up playing football on the streets of the slums outside Racao's major cities. Although the culture at the time encouraged goal-scorers more than goal-tenders, Sakoto quickly discovered a natural talent for goalkeeping. A scout for Soalara Strike noticed Sakoto's abilities and signed him on. He won the national championship twice with that club before moving on to a club in Port Louis, where he is today.

Hassan HIRANA >>> GK (24) Although Hassan Hirana is an up-and-coming goalkeeper, he has taken second fiddle in the Racaoan team to the more experienced Sokoto. He definitely has good shot-blocking skills, and far and by large, he is an excellent goalkeeper.

Trojana RAKOHELY >>> GK (29) Trojana Rakohely is somewhat of an old geezer on the Racaoan side. Having just barely made the team, Rakohely's skills are growing old and he no longer possesses the quick reflexes he had in his youth.

DEFENDERS >>>
Andrian RAKOTONIRINA >>> RB (27) Andrian Rakotonirina brings some experience to the defensive side of the field. He has played for several Racaoan clubs and knows his way around several strategies. His guidance will help the younger defenders when they need it.

Justin RABELOMASINA >>> RB (21) Justin Rabelomasina might be the total opposite of Chris Rakotomaharo. While Rakotomaharo specializes in large kicks, Rabelomasina specializes in short, precise passes that work nearly every single time. He helps to maintain a defensive field around the goal which almost never allows shots through. Good dribbling and pickup abilities help Rabelomasina to keep the ball away from the goal. Rabelomasina also has good concentration and will use them to complement his passing and dribbling and his fellow defenders' good attributes.

Christopher RAKOTOMAHARO >>> CB (19) One of two teenage prodigies starting on Racao's national team, Chris Rakotomaharo is a speedy defender with a tight control on the ball. His kicking abilities are legendary on the Racaoan team and feature strongly in the defensive strategy of the team. His fellow defenders act like a funnel, sending the ball towards him so he can send the ball far away from the goal. If that doesn't work, he is more than adept at dribbling, and keeping with the opportunistic Racaoan team, he makes use of his many skills to keep the ball from penetrating the goal. His versatility and quick thinking make him an asset to any team that has him.

Ciriaque RASOA >>> CB (24) Ciriaque Rasoa is a competent defender. He lacks creativity, however, and sticks to by-the-book strategies, something that doesn't fare well for Racao's current strategy.

Masibo RALAVANOA >>> LB (25)Masibo Ralavanoa is a good all-around player - he has decent stamina, decent passes, decent blocks, and decent stealing. However, the team strategy did not call for a jack-of-all-trades, and Manendry fit the bill for a left back better than Ralavanoa did.

Félix MANENDRY >>> LB (23) Félix Manendry is a solid and consistent defender. Skilled at passing and retrieval, Manendry is willing to take risks. Although he is a left back, Manendry often deviates from his assigned position, and he is also capable of playing center back. He often takes control of the ball right after the opposing team penetrates the midfield, passing it back to his teammates before they send it wide into the midfield. His defensive style is on the border between creative and by-the-book. When an opportunity arises for either situation, Manendry is not hesitant to use his skills to pick up on that opportunity. Manendry is currently with a club in Port Louis.

MIDFIELDERS >>>
MOSA >>> CM (26) CPT Mosa, Racao's most experienced midfielder, still has years left in him. Despite flagging stamina, Mosa knows how to connect with the ball. His main asset is his versatility. Whether on defense or on offense, Mosa knows the right tricks to get the ball where he wants it to go. He is a prolific scorer despite being in the midfield. Strikers Ipirina and Arivelo are often at the receiving end of his passes for a creative goal shot, and Mosa is adept at getting that perfect shot in line for them. His experience shows on the playing field. Mosa is described as eother a creative midfielder or a midfield general player, and he has the abilities to fit both profiles. Indeed, he does create many scoring opportunities for the trio of young strikers. At the other end of the stick, though, Mosa directs play in the midfield and scoops up the opponents' shots. He is a confidence booster for the younger members of the team. Mosa definitely deserves his captainship because of the wide range of abilities he possesses.

Nizar AMADA >>> LM (23) Nizar Amada just barey made the Racaoan team - he is not very accurate with passes, and he doesn't has good defense or stealing abilities. Despite these failings, overall he is a decent player, yet not decent enough for the starting squad.

Albert MANASOA >>> LM (22) Albert Manasoa is a good complement to Mena Rabalasoa on the other side of the field. Manasoa's best attribute is arguably his stealing ability. Opposing defenders will not be safe if they are in Mansoa's zone; he will find a way to send the ball to Mosa or the offensive end of the field, like teammate Rabalasoa. His stamina along the left flank also helps him to maintain a good defensive posture. Manasoa, when in his element, is virtually unstoppable.

Rado SALIM >>> CM (22)Rado Salim is on the midline between a somewhat good player and a good player. He just needs a little more development. Indeed, he is fairly competent on the defensive side of the midfield, but sometimes, he cracks under pressure. Maybe in a cycle or two he will be promoted to the starting squad.

Masibo ANDRIANAJAKA >>> CM (22) Masibo Andriananaka has the mixed blessing of sharing the center midfield with the venerable Mosa. However, his skills are up to the task. Known for his box-to-box style, Manasoa is as equally adept on the defense as he is on the offense. Extremely mobile and blessed with good stamina, Andrianajaka possesses the qualities he needs to shore up both the defensive and offensive ends of the midfield. Arguably, Andrianajaka is the best box-to-box player Racao has ever produced.

Tahiry MAHAZAKA >>> CM (25) Tahiry Mahazaka is one of Mosa's and Masibo Andrianajaka's colleagues. He is a bit older than Andrianajaka but his stamina is falling and he is not aggressive enough, or at least according to team management. He will probably be subbed in if the team needs to take a more defensive posture.

Mena RABALASOA >>> RM (25) Mena Rabalasoa is an excellent right-winger. He is a flank player who possessive great pickup abilities. These abilities, as well as his legendary speediness, serve him well near the pitch boundaries, where he can force the ball towards the center of the midfield, allowing his teammates the opportunity to set up a goal-scoring play. He has the experience and gut instinct which allows him to predict a good next move, which allows him to foresee opponents' moves and to be there before they know they will be there. All of these qualities make Rabalasoa an excellent defensive midfielder.

Vincent RAHARISON >>> RM (26) Vincent Raharison is one of the more experienced midfielders, along with Mosa. However, he never was a good as Mosa, and despite being a good midfielder, a slightly younger and faster Mena Rabalasoa took the spot.

STRIKERS >>>
Ryan ARIVELO >>> ST (19) An up-and-coming striker, Arivelo is one of the youngest starters (and, indeed, players overall) on the Racaoan national team. Currently, he is the only player from Racao to play in a foreign club, Once Municipal of San Jose Guayabal. Arivelo is known for his speed, endurance, passing, and unorthodox tactics. Indeed, he often takes risks and is rewarded with creative shots that go into the goal. He is a team player and despite his individuality, he is more than willing to work with his other teammates to score goals, even if it is at the expense of his own pride. Arivelo is on track to be one of the best players Racao has ever seen.

Pascale RAVELONAJATO >>> ST (25) Pascale Ravelonajato is a conventional striker. He is at least competent and knows what he is doing. His shots can be off target, but for the most part they are not shabby.

Aristotle IPIRINA >>> ST (21) Aristotle Ipirina is in the class of Ryan Arivelo. The two players have many similarities: both are young, risk-taking strikers. What sets Ipirina apart, however, is his shot-making ability. His risks are not in shots but in his position. Ipirina has a great mental acuity and can compute the best angles for shots while on the field (as evidenced by his name). When he gets in position, the ball almost always scores points for the Racao side. Ipirina also has the endurance to make it through a long match and the confidence to back himself up.

Mark VELONIRINA >>> ST (25)Mark Velonirina is by most conventional standards, an excellent striker. He has accuracy and power. Indeed, he led his team in Saint-Denis to the championships. However, team management decided to adopt a more risky approach rather than the stolid play Velonirina is used to.

Arman RAKOTOARISOA >>> ST (24) A fairly competent striker, Rakotoarisoa excels in accurate shots. He is a little bit slower than his peers but he does a good job with what he has. This, unfortunately, was not enough to earn him a place on the starting squad.

Silvëre RAVALOMANANA >>> ST (21) Completing Racao's trio of young strikers is Silvëre Ravalomanana. Unlike his peers Ipirina and Arivelo, though, Ravalomanana's specialty is outwitting defenders. He is extremely flexible with the ball and his dribbling and faking skills are second to none. No defender can stop his movement. After he is through all defenders, Ravalomana will either attempt a straight-up shot or pass to teammates Ipirina or Arivelo. Considering his accuracy, Ravalomanana is often the top choice to take penalty kicks. Ravalomanana also performs well under pressure, as a good striker should.

COACHING STAFF >>>
SOJA >>> Manager (35)Soja is probably one of the most-known footballers in Racao, and he is definitely a household name. A former striker and captain, Soja led the Racao national team and the Soalara Strike team until he retired from playing a few years ago. He has since turned his attention to coaching. Soja prefers to have innovative strategies rather than more conventional ones. The 3-4-3 approach that the team currently takes is his trademark style. Soja emphasizes personal fitness as well as opportunism and creativity. He is an extreme confidence booster and the players are proud to have him leading their team. He is an extremely popular coach, and inspires the team to do well. Apart from making lineup choices, Soja is also responsible for financial issues, travel, and other arrangements.

Robert JOSOA >>> Head Assistant Coach (36) Robert Josoa, another former player (a midfielder) from Soalara Strike, is responsible for more of the day-to-day activities of the team. He leads practices and ensures that the players are trained adequately before the match. He helps Soja implement general team strategy and also oversees the assistant coaches that train the goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and strikers. Josoa is also respected by the players and generally offers good tips for their improvement. He is interested in the team's welfare and will go far to ensure that they will win.

Dr. Hery TOLOLAHY >>> Medical Director (39) Hery Tololahy oversees trainers and physicians that make up the Racaoan national team. The son of the first real sports doctor in Racao, Tololahy followed in his father's path, studying at the Port Louis University and gaining admission to a prestigious program in the Kytler Peninsulae. As part of his job as the medical director, Tololahy treats injuries and takes steps to help them team avoid injuries. He also helps the team to maintain their energy and stamina and regain lost body fluids. On the side, Tololahy also runs clinics in Racao for aspiring footballers and other athletes on the importance of medicine.

STRATEGY >>>
The Racaoan strategy for this tournament will be a versatile format that aims for effective coverage of the entire field to gain possession. Racao will adopt a slightly aggressive but balanced strategy that emphasizes control of the midfield. Starting with the 3-4-3 position, the Racao team will develop the offense by tactical use of midfield plays. If a team manages to get through the midfield, the defense and goalkeeper are more than able to handle them, although a midfielder may be shunted towards the defensive end of the field in case of this scenario. However, with a strong midfield, this scenario is unlikely, but the team will be able to deal with this occasion. At the offensive end of the field, shot-making and accuracy are emphasized. If the team is behind, similar to strategy for defense, the midfield is capable of going on the offense. When this occurs, the two center midfielders will fan out towards the opponents' penalty box. This flexible approach ensures that the team is not caught off guard by offensive maneuvers and that goals can be made with relative ease.

Friday, November 14, 2014 - 4:58 A.M.

If you have been paying close attention to the news you are aware that Star United States is in a heap of chaos. If you are not aware: The Federal Government is losing their grasp on the country. Shocking.

The Federal Government is attempting to maintain peace within the national borders. Supposedly, the purpose of this was because Star United Sates is currently host of the Five-A-Side World Cup II, where later today the quarter-finals will be held. They wanted to keep a safe environment for the national teams of countries around the multiverse, and their citizens. However, many have questioned the credibility of this statement. Many believe that the government has wasted way too much money in order to obtain food for the population of 97 million Starians that it had no more funds for the military or even any nonviolent solutions.

Others say that the government is just no longer capable of being in charge of the country, and that the power should be moved on to another governmental system or the Starian Church. While few have reacted in rebellion, instead of upholding the Federal Government, they have formed their own central governments in their so called City-States. The Federal Government refuses to view them as one but, does nothing to stop them as they progress and build their armies. For the ones of us that are deprived of history-based terms, a city-states is defined as a city that is united under a sovereign government, along with its surrounding territories.

In other words the government is beginning to become failed government if it's not one already. It's begun to lose the grasp of the land as the cities Blu, Darkstone, Manu, Jarlle, Candean, and Hiahropy, all these places may now be known as City-States because they have cut out all activities with Star United States, and close their borders with their armed people.

The City-States of Blu was the first city to call for independence from the Federal Government, and when the government failed to reply, it seemed that they acquiesced to the declaration. Therefore thy begun to establish a centralized government and a military, and they acted adroitly in everything they did. The other cities surreptitiously followed, and ultimate resulting in the succession of the cities from the country.

Every single city in Star United States is literally capable of becoming a city-state since the government isn't stopping it. It's a green light.

President Chris Cross Assassinated

Posted: Friday, November 14, 2014 - 10:46 A.M.

President Chris Cross was assassinated early today at 6:26 A.M. He left City of Star around 5:50 A.M. directed to San José Guayabal to say a few things to the national soccer team before they begun their tournament, however, he never left Starian air space. About 36 minutes after being in flight the Star Jet, the presidential airplane, received an four missile impacts from an unknown source. Inevitably, the plane inclined towards the ground. It crashed right into Starian soil.

So, far no bodies have been found and are assumed to have been consumed by the fire. He was travelling with his wife, María; Jake Log, the Executive Speaker of the House; and Marc Mani, the General Officer; along with Zach Sherman, the House Chief Official.

We will share more information as more is released.

WORLD PREVIEW, EDITION XXVIII - THE OPENER TROPHY, GROUP A

In this edition of World Preview, our analysts guess what will happen in San José Guayabal this week.

It's almost time for the Equestrian/Guayabalnese World Cup campaigns to begin, and this time there will be fireworks in San Salvador far before the world's finest thirty-two kick off next summer. This year, the Guavas will be hosting a preparatory invitational, the first Opener Trophy, before the festivities really kick off. With two groups of four, both of which feature a promising mix, there's no doubt the teams there will impress. The question is, who will end up on top? We look at this question for Group A, a mixture of old rivals and new nations. Will the Guayabalnese win, or the Sunrisians? Can the Llamaneans and Jeckish keep up? There's only one way to find out for real - but we can certainly guess at it.

Image

TEAM CAPTAIN - Rodolfo Zelaya
KEY PLAYERS - Rodolfo Zelaya, Matías Passarelli, Henry Hernandez
RANK - 33
KITSMAKER - Kirola
MANAGER - Mathias Paatelainen (Polarian)
STRENGTHS - Unique hexagonal play provides great counterattacks and decent attacking. Persistence and technical acumen all play into the White Wolves' hand.
WEAKNESSES - The agile Hernandez isn't backed up with the strongest front line, and sometimes they're a bit too aggressive.
PREDICTION - GROUP CHAMPION. They've one of the best attacks in the world, and home-field advantage helps as well.

Image

TEAM CAPTAIN - None Given
KEY PLAYERS - Mellody Sioux, Maynor Marian, Hannah Alcouin
RANK - 11
KITSMAKER - Kirola
MANAGER - Mihashi Chiyo
STRENGTHS - Creative and dynamic on the attack, solid on the defense, overall a good team.
WEAKNESSES - Their teamwork isn't too great - for a union of many once-rivaled nations, we shouldn't have hoped for much better.
PREDICTION - PROBABLE SECOND. On talent alone they top the tournament, but will the effort and teamwork that made NSI great be there?

Image

TEAM CAPTAIN - Richard Barker
KEY PLAYERS - Richard Barker, Micah Hoonas, Alex Parry
RANK - 105
KITSMAKER - Kirola
MANAGER - Habib Kouli (Osarian)
STRENGTHS - They're full of scrap and spirit, and could easily pull off upsets with their flexible, balanced play.
WEAKNESSES - The mix of old and new players hasn't meshed yet, and at times they're a bit careless and don't pass enough.
PREDICTION - THIRD, GIVE OR TAKE ONE. They've the hearts to make it, and this group has been together for a while, but they simply don't stand up to the challenge in our opinion.

Image

TEAM CAPTAIN - Marc Lygaard
KEY PLAYERS - Marc Lygaard, Mads Olsen, Jorgen Karlstad
RANK - 156
KITSMAKER - Domestic
MANAGER - Henrik Jensen
STRENGTHS - A 4-2-3-1 formation gives them a decent attack, and Karlstad in the back is reliable despite past hiccups. In addition, they have a competitive passion and brilliant teamwork you don't see often anymore.
WEAKNESSES - The defense isn't the best, and even the attack is at times inconsistent.
PREDICTION - THIRD, GIVE OR TAKE ONE. One of the hustliest teams around, but the rank is a bit low even after they've been around for a few cycles.

GROUP B

Image

TEAM CAPTAIN - Chris Soarison
KEY PLAYERS - Chris Soarison, Felix Gonzalez, Fernando Spark
RANK - 81
KITSMAKER - Vulpine Sportif
MANAGER - Luke Curtis
STRENGTHS - A compact 3-4-3 allows them great flexibility on the wings while maintaining central integrity, and the offense is one of the most underrated in the world.
WEAKNESSES - While the offense is superb, the defense, with only three real fullbacks, is understandably worse.
PREDICTION - PROBABLE QUALIFICATION. In the less experienced group, the Starians can easily hold their own.

Image

TEAM CAPTAIN - Derrick Nelson
KEY PLAYERS - Alex Cartwright, Kyle Sturgeon, Derrick Nelson
RANK - 42
KITSMAKER - Kirola
MANAGER - Bogdan Antonlescu (Furellum)
STRENGTHS - Their flexible formation gives them a huge attacking advantage, and their back line is as solid as it's been in history.
WEAKNESSES - The mix of old and new players hasn't meshed yet, and at times they're a bit careless and don't pass enough.
PREDICTION - IN THE PLAYOFFS. They aren't bad, but can the Tigers pull off a comeback after their terrifying plunge down the rankings last cycle?

Image

TEAM CAPTAIN - Sol Arke
KEY PLAYERS - Sol Arke, Iiro Mihaylov, Timo Heinckel
RANK - 187
KITSMAKER - Unidentified
MANAGER - Ulrik Leonardsen (Semarlandic)
STRENGTHS - A flexible 4-4-2 diamond formation is just one of the surprises the rising stars of Polaskaan can pull. With dynamic, technical play, they're far better than your average international debutant.
WEAKNESSES - While a fresh and dynamic team is good, they still haven't proven themselves to be on the consistent level of the bigger names in the sports world.
PREDICTION - ON THE EDGE. Talent-wise they're decent, but they aren't consistent enough.

Image

TEAM CAPTAIN - Mosa
KEY PLAYERS - Mosa, Christopher Rakotomaharo, Aristotle Ipirina
RANK - 226
KITSMAKER - Unknown
MANAGER - Soja
STRENGTHS - A fluid and dynamic attack helped by their field-covering 3-4-3. Don't take this team as a free win.
WEAKNESSES - Apparently the field wasn't covered enough - they have one of the worst defenses in the tournament.
PREDICTION - THIRD AND 1/2. Barring a surprise, they don't seem experienced enough to make the playoffs.

Tigers Top Racao to Start Opener Off Right

The Llamanean NT got off to a brilliant start at the Opener Trophy, continuing their success under foreign manager and cow extraordinaire Bogdan Antonlescu. Despite a valiant effort from the island nation of Racao, the Tigers struck early and managed to keep a comfortable position the entire game.

Things started slowly, with much back-and-forth exchanges between the two midfields. Kyle Sturgeon in particular impressed, going toe-to-toe in passing acumen with the great Rasao captain Mosa and coming out on top. Still, nothing seemed to happen until Alex Cartwright touched the ball and the game's order collapsed.

Cartwright broke out in a dribbling run diagonally across the left flank, going back and forth with Eden Powell to set himself up on the corner of the box. Sighting Rakotomaharo and Félix Manendry on the side, he quickly shuttled a pass over to Peter Masters, who faked by Rabelomasina and passed through the other two defenders to Cartwright, who found himself available for an easy goal. And score he did, slamming it from eight yards out to put the Tigers up one-nil in only the seventeenth minute of play.

The Tigers managed to keep any Racao counter under wraps for a while, but with the determined attack streaming in, it wouldn't last long. After a few brilliant saves, Aristotle Irapina finally got the better of the Llamaneans, sending a free kick spiraling over Finch's outstretched hands off a pass from Ravalomanana and into the net to draw the game.

Antonlescu decided to make shifts, bringing in the more selfless Aidan Ferguson in Masters' stead. Meanwhile, the Racao manager Soja decided to stay with his lineup and see what happened.

Immediately after the half began, the shift had great effect. Ferguson, Powell, and Cartwright proved an unstoppable trio, blowing past the Racao three-man back line with ease. Powell took a rebound from Cartwright's shot two minutes into the half, bounced it off his thigh, and smashed the volley by Sakoto's useless dive to give the Llamaneans the lead.

Soja reluctantly brought in Masibo Ralavanoa to help out in the back, removing Silvëre Ravalomanana to make room and transition to a 4-4-2 formation. Still, the Racaoans were kept alert constantly, and in the final minutes Eden Powell broke through on a daring run and beat Sakoto again, sealing the victory.

The win, coupled with a victory against Polaaskan or the Star United States, who drew one-all today, will seal the Llamaneans' spot in the final rounds of the Opener Trophy. Will their respectability return with it?

After the announcement of the death of the Federal Republic’s president, several city-states went on a rampage on the western side of the country. They are the city-states of Manu, Blu, Darkstone, and Hiahropy. They have successfully converted the western side of the country a battle zone.
The Federal Government issued various warning for Starian citizens to exit the area and take refuge in eastern cities. It’s a disaster.

The city-states went merciless through the region killing anyone in their way. Federal Government officials have not been able to define what city-states have gained what territory, but it seem that the government is not going to try to regain the lost land.

Currently the military of the Star United States is in various battles. The battle that has called most attention is located directly west of the capital City of Star. Known as the Clash Battle, the united militaries of the city-states have prevented the Starian military to enter the battlezone, however, reports indicate that the country’s army was just trying to prevent them from expanding east.

The Clash Battle - The militaries of Manu, Blu, Darkstone, an Hiahrophy joined together as they marched towards the capital City of Star. They lacked the knowledge that Starian Intelligence was already aware of their plan. The Federal Government stationed troops just west of the Starix District borders. As soon as both armies saw each other, the shots were shot. War had begun. A Civil War.

The Battle of Hiahropy - This battle was a great victory for the City-States as the Starian Army failed to pass the blockade. Starian Intelligence sent troops to attack Hiahrophy, and overlooked the fact that the city-state could have reinforces still around the city. The Starian troops were outnumbered, and forced to retreat.

The Northern Battle - This battle located at the northern most part of the battlezone was a success for the Starians, as they forced the Manu Army to retreat, however, the Starian Army stood in place, and did not chase them.

Currently, there are the only three battles were are aware with. When more information is to come out, we will be sure to notify.

UNIFIED SUNRISE ISLANDS 1-0 SEMARLAND
In the first Opener Trophy clash, the Semars got off to a poor start with a 1-0 loss against the Unified Sunrise Islands. An early 7th minute goal from centre-forward Felipe Maniche put the Sunrisians up ahead. Some good play from central midfielders Rolando and Rolandinho Juliano and a great cross from full-back Maynor Marian resulted in Maniche heading home past Jorgen Karlstad. The Semars went quite close to equalising after Demba Cisse's cross found Tipio Runen, who volleyed against the Sunrisian crossbar. The rebound was swiftly cleared away by centre-back Matt O'Haile, who plays for Tropicorp FC in Vilita, alongside his team-mate, the defensive midfielder Hasato Kimiki. Kimiki almost got a second for the lively Sunrisians, with a pounding effort that slammed against Karlstad's crossbar. Andreas Jansen, and right-back Eirik Malsen both had chances as did Marc Lygaard, but goalkeeper Mellody Sioux was having a brilliant game, denying all attempts by the Semars.

As the second half came, both teams made a substitute each. Steffan Poulsen came into defensive midfield alongside Yacouba Sakho, replacing Adren Christiansen-Hallensburg, while Remus Othniel-L'ubomir came on for Hannah Alcouin, who had done little in the game. The 16 year old Othniel-L'ubomir, who plays his football for Dayton FC in Darvale, looked promising, and came close a couple of times. Semarland had a goal ruled out for offside, after a beautiful pass from Steffan Poulsen found Tipio Runen, who was marginally offside. Two more subs came on, Claes Naemstad and Rasmus Norregaard, both for Mads Olsen and Matur Eiriksson respectively. For the rest of game, the Sunrisians managed to hold out, and win 1-0. Of course, the staff and players of Semarland were very disappointed, and they hoped to fare better in their next game, against Jeckland.

JECKLAND 6-5 SEMARLAND
A very high-scoring game indeed saw Semarland narrowly lose their second match, against Jeckland. Jeckland, who lost their opening match, 1-0, the same score that Semarland had at the hands of Unified Sunrise Islands. The Jeckish lost 1-0 to the hosts San Jose Guayabal. Both teams needed a win, to have any hope of qualifying for the finals. The Jeckish got off to a good start, with centre-back Joe Harnett heading home from Carlo Henriques' corner, on 8 minutes. Their lead did not last for too long, when, four minutes later, Marc Lygaard volleyed Mads Olsen's cross home, straight past Toby Thompson. An entertaining game ensued, with both teams continuing to trouble the other's defence and goalkeeper, coming close at nearly every opportunity. The first to take advantage of that was Jeckland (again), with Alex Parry scoring with just a simple tap-in on 31 minutes. Sam Roper's square ball into the Semar penalty area found Parry with ease, all the recipient needing to do was to tap the ball home.

Semarland got a quick equaliser just before half time, with captain Marc Lygaard grabbing his second, thanks to the ever-creative Demba Cisse. Jeckland made their first substitute for the next half, with Oliver Whitehouse coming on for Connor Long, who had little to do in the first period, and Ole Mikkelsen came on at right-back for Eirik Malsen. Whitehouse made his instant impact, firing home Jeckland's third on 57 minutes, and assisting Carlo Henriques on 62 minutes, putting the Jeckish 4-2 up. As a result of this, the Semars switched to 4-4-1-1, with Cisse playing just behind Marc Lygaard. And instead of claiming his hat-trick, Lygaard did the unselfish thing and knocked it towards Demba Cisse to fire home, reducing Jeckland's lead down to a 1-goal lead on 70 minutes. And the Jeckish defence were at fault two minutes later, with a very poor back-pass from Micah Hoonas, the central midfielder, which left Marc Lygaard to capitalise on, and round Toby Thompson to slot home into the empty net.

4-4 with 15 minutes left, both teams frantically made their last two substitutes, Jakob Larsen & Tipio Runen for Demba Cisse & Andreas Jansen respectively for Semarland, and Joe Bowen and Corey Fox for Sam Roper and Micah Hoonas. And Bowen, like previous sub Whitehouse, made an instant impact, firing home on 77 minutes. Jeckland looked to have sealed it on the 85th minute, with Carlo Henriques' cross finding the head of Alex Parry who headed home his second. But in the final minute of the game, (the 93rd), central midfielder Abel Nkutu knocked the ball home to grab his first ever goal for Semarland.

Congress Hall, City of Star. Shown in a recording throughout the country due to safety reasons.

"Hello my fellow citizens,

As you all, I am sadden at the fact that President Chris Cross is no longer with us. I know, and am fully aware, that he is missed, and that he did amazing things as president of our glorious country. However, life keeps going. It's time to move forward. The deceased will be missed.

As you all also know, I am the country's new president. I have great plans to reestablish our falling nation, and bring as one together.

I ask you all to have some patience. Let me inform you of what's been going on.

The western side of Star United States has collapsed, and is out of our reach, for now. First, we are going to attempt to fix the issues on our side. Then, we will go in and save the Western Side.

We are currently going to contain the uprisings and go from there.

I wish you all the best!"

BREAKING NEWS - SUPER-LLAMALAND SURRENDERS WITH A BANG

After a short but bloody war the defending FLULON powers, lead by Super-Llamaland, waged against Gregoryisgodistan, the conflict seems to have finally come to an end - but at a strange and unprecedented cost for both sides.

The Gregoryisgodistani ships attempted to make a landing on Llamanean soil on October 21, 2014, shortly after the bombing of Isle Benoit and the declarations of war that followed. General Nathaniel Bergeron masterminded the plan for the Hantelian Reef Blockade, attempting to stop Gregoryisgodistan from passing through for fear of ship damage on the reefs and shallows below. But undeterred, Gregoryisgodistan managed to break through after a week of difficult fighting, forcing the navy to retreat and attempt to throw up a second, more desperate attempt. The Angelian Blockade, crossing from Xinjing in the north to Angel Island in the south, was meant to give the Llamanean Army time to prepare for the now-inevitable landing.

But before the ships even made it through the surprisingly tough blockade, Gregoryisgodistani managed to air-drop scores of flamethrower-wielding soldiers, in what the military dubbed as the "Human Blitzkrieg". Worse yet, as Sania Concordia was set alight, the land troops managed to help force ships through the Concord River and into the mouth of the Bay of Nascara, resulting in the annihilation of the two-week-long blockade. As the army frantically retreated from their preparations to take on rebels on the north, Sania Concordia was destroyed, and forces spread quickly to Los Juantos. While the military managed to contain the soldiers after a while, thousands of civilians were killed. Meanwhile, Super-Llamaland turned to the air, dropping hundreds of bombs upon Gregoryisgodistani soil.

Still, despite the Llamanean attacks, Gregoryisgodistan was still suicidally pushing inland towards Xinjing and flinging deadly soldiers onto every island from the sea. Eventually, despite more than a few protests, Super-Llamaland decided to surrender, agreeing to pay three hundred million NSD to Gregoryisgodistan in exchange for a complete, although uneasy, ceasefire.

But the Llamaneans hadn't finished making their point yet. Today, reports had leaked that what had appeared to be commercial planes flying overhead were actually modified bomber planes carrying large bright bags painted with "FREE GREGORYISGODISTAN" and stuffed full of pennies. At 11:52 AM, the planes, roughly situated all over the nation's district administrative centers, let loose a payload of 2.1 million pennies per plane. With nearby planes also having veered from apparent courses to Yttribia, San José Guayabal, Gloriax, a total of twenty-one planes dropped $441,000 worth of pennies onto Gregoryisgodistan.

The rest of the money is expected to be sent by normal methods Tuesday, reports show.
