Completely up to you; it's a concept called fluid time. The two main 'ageing rates' are 4 years per WC and 2 years per WC (which more or less works out at 1 years per UICA cycle), but there have been others. One nation, Candelaria and Marquez IIRC, had their politicians (or was it players?) age in real time, but everybody else aged at 4 per WC.

I was just searching the forum's archives and found this post. Must have been back in at least May 2015. So long ago! Is The Jeckish Union is still active? It'd be cool to see what he's up to after all these years.

Anyway, I'm back everyone. Did you miss me? 8) I haven't been active since World Cup 71 but I'm still up for RPing!

Nice to see a few old faces like Kaboomlandia and Madesu are still around.

See you soon!

Personally I preffer the Republican time. My players from all my nations ages 1 year every world cup cycle. I think it's simple like that. But it's up to anyone, there's no correct answer for that.

Or Holy Empire time, where time is essentially meaningless because the Empire exists outside of time and space.

Or Archregimancy time, which follows the RL calendar for purposes of deciding the liturgical cycle, but where otherwise Holy Empire time is the general rule.

So yes, it's up to the individual.

Does that mean that, technically, Sanctii players could play for 30 straight World Cups on a purely age basis? 30 WCs is only around 8-10 years, so...

Gregoryisgodistan's players could too, but given the nature of our country, they'd probably get killed off before then, or arrested, or in the case of several of our Enemy Crushers, both.

I should bring up Audioslavian/Starblaydi Role Play Time, while we're here. Star and I use the same system, having come up with it independently of each other and promptly gone 'wait, its the same year for you guys too?!'

Four years per World Cup, Two years per UICA cycle (meaning one fairly long domestic season held over twenty months). The first World Cup was held in 1918, meaning World Cup 71 was held in 2198.

Next up on the calendar: AOCAF Cup / Campeonato Esportiva / Copa Rushmori (June 2200), Baptism of Fire 59 (July 2200), World Cup 72 Qualifying (September 2200 - November 2201), Cup of Harmony (May - June 2202), World Cup 72 Finals (June - July 2202).

Despite all that, not even all COCANEFA nations use the same system. Legalese and Osarius use two years-per-WC-cycle, meaning a league season for Hastmead Diamante goes twice as quickly as does a league season for 1830 Cathair. Fluid-time is fine.

(Considering my luck, nope.)

EDIT: Hopefully this will be scheduled like World Cup 69 was. In that case, I'll be crossing my fingers for a bid not to come until the first week of June!

A reminder to you that this is open.
TBI has confirmed that they are willing to scorinate a few contests during this festival -- probably the same three as last time, which were Orienteering, Tug-of-War, and Croquet -- although if we get alot of sign-ups then the number of places available may have to be rationed.
So far, apart from nations belonging to either myself or TBI, we have one other country sending participants.
