A bit late is better than never. So grats to Nephara, and thanks to Valladares and SJG for hosting an exemplary tournament, with NSI, Red Blackiland, and Ceni for hosting the CoH and the BoF.

Armeia/Anglatia: I'll change your name in the rankings at the start of the next tournament.

It was the first country I thought of with no connection to the former Yugoslavia. I don't know the refugee statistics.

And Greg, it's sort of like both. The players are refugees but they're getting citizenship legitimately which is why they won't play for a couple seasons.

Meh.... Expect a minor IC protest from us, especially if we're in your group, but OOC-ly that's fine IMO. It's kind of like the Falatulu scenario only you're not fleeing our IC archenemy so we will be less sympathetic IC-ly. And by the way, that's nothing like Yugoslavia, hence my confusion and Audio's confusion at my confusion.

Good thing: I'm ranked in the top 32 (just), despite failing to qualify for the World Cup.

Bad thing: I lose my "spawny git" WC72 bonus next cycle.

First, if you're asking yourself "What IRC Chatroom?" Here are the details:

irc.esper.net
#nssport

You can try it out very quickly/easily by using the web app on the espernet website: https://www.esper.net/publicirc.php ;Just put your nation name as your user name!
Another easy way to access it is to plug the data above into irccloud.com.

Second, many of us have also started playing other games together over the years. One of those is a completely free web-based browser game where you control a Football (Soccer) player and manage his career. Think FM but you control one player instead of the entire team.

Right now we have about 10 NS Sports users playing on a team and we have room for plenty more. I'm not going to link to it directly here but if you are interested in joining us, the new season has started today and you can ask us about it on IRC or by checking out our planning sheet for the new season (Which includes the signup link) here: http://www.tinyurl.com/nsfootstar

Sorry, I am too idiotic to understand which forum to use for that on footstar. But this Swiss Lukas Luyet guy who joined last night is me. And the homepage of that game is too complicated for me to handle... ^^

I dunno if Vilita contacted you or anything, but if nothing came, ask him out. Kinda's the one that handle these things.
Let's make this happen, girl / you gonna show the world
that something good can work / And it can work for you / And you know that it will

Attn all prospective CoH bidders -

Yttribia and myself are considering a four-team bid for WC75, and we're currently looking for a complementary pair of CoH hosts. Interested parties are invited to get in touch with us, either on IRC or via TG, thanks.

My apologies to everyone for my completely dropping off the radar over the last week or so - abandoning some Sports RP obligations in the process.

I've just come through a difficult week where RL professional obligations have had me working up until midnight almost every night, and NS had to take a back seat.

I'm flying to the UK tomorrow for a conference, and will be back in Dubai on Sunday morning; I'll likely be easing my way back into NS next week.

Again, apologies - sometimes RL has to take priority, alas.

Wow. Can't compete with that. But if you want a secretary-general who will make sure everyone gets an opportunity to play ice hockey (or those who lost to Eura in the last WC and don't want to vote them :P) I'm running too, and therefore not voting Eura (yet). Sorry for not supporting NS Sports candidate, but my vote's just for fun anyway, unless I actually do well by some miracle ;)

Apologies for the double post, but this should really go in a separate post to the one above.

Right.

I've been mulling this over for quite some time, but I think now is the right time. I have decided to retire from NS Sports for the time being, with my "withdrawal" from activity occurring over the next cycle. The key things to note are:

- I will continue on in my role as WCC President until the end of the cycle, at which point a new president will take over due to the Presidential cycles changing. I'll open up for nominations alongside voting for WC and BoF hosts, and then a new president will be elected alongside the CoH voting. Obviously, I will not be running for President, so don't nominate.

- The ANL will disband following on from this current season. I will finish RPing it to it's conclusion but will not enter the teams into UICA competition, as, ICly, foreign nationals will take part in UICA competitions with their new clubs from new season. Dw, for foreign nationals in the ANL, there will not be a "lost UICA season". Any foreign nationals in the ANL will be free to leave their clubs in the next window, of course.

- The A-League will also occur this season, with the RP for that explaining why it will disband. Any foreign nationals in Mareibatian clubs will be free to leave their clubs in the next window as well. I'm not entirely sure what Neph is doing with regards to the Brenecian clubs next season, but I'm sure the A-League will continue in some form with the Brenecian clubs.

- With regards to Apoxian players in foreign leagues, you are of course welcome to keep them or move them on as you see fit. I have no problem with users naturalising Apoxian players into citizens of their countries, but would ask that this only occurs for players with less than 10 caps for the Apoxian National Team, which you'll be able to obtain from my CE roster. Exceptions may be made for other players from discussions via TG or on IRC.

- The Apoxian national team will enter into the CE, where a storyline I'm pre-writing will explain the withdrawal of the national team and the league from the public spotlight. The national team will not take part in the WC, but I will still open sign-ups and conduct the host voting for that etc.

That was a bit of a mammoth post, so thanks for reading if you still are. I'll crosspost this to the Domestic Discussion thread because a lot of that is relevant their too.

Finally, I'd just like to give my thanks to everyone (active and the many non-active) I've collab'd with in RP, hosted competitions with, done transfers with, chatted with over TG and IRC, or interacted with in any way in the nearly 4 years I've been part of this forum. It really is the most special out of all the forums. While I won't be participating in Sports competitions, I'll likely still lurk about here and on IRC for a while yet, as I want to do more nation expanding for both Apox & Mareibat, so this isn't the last time I'll ever be around!

Also, this is quite fun:

[23:58] <Apox> I know exactly when I'm gonna step back, and it's not yet
[23:58] <PIS> but i have at least put those bids in
[23:58] <Farf> When?
[23:58] <Apox> not telling you
[23:59] <Farf> Well that's sad and boring :P
[23:59] <Apox> that one's staying my little secret, sorry
[00:00] <Farf> Hopefully it's when an Esportivan wins the WC :P

Dw Farf, I'm not leaving because of this, it's just a cool little #IlluminatiConfirmed moment.

Thank you so much for your contributions over the years, Apox, as a mentor figure and the person who brought me to Esportiva. I hope you come back someday.

In the meantime, I can at least confirm that Brenecia will return to sole ownership of the A-League, more details to come with the season writeup.
