Sicoutimont (SIC) Final Site Bid
Champion's Cup: Stade Pierre Beach, Pierre Beach, Sicoutimont -- 116,000 seated
Stade Pierre Beach is always a beacon of excitement in Sicoutimont. It has hosted many great events, and now looks to go one step further. A recent creation, Pierre Beach was chosen by RailSicoutimont as the place to build the largest stadium in the nation. The warm climate plus the lure of the attractions the stadium would bring was thought to encourage tourism. And it does. Many come to Pierre Beach's, well, beach, before going to SportCity, the underground city, to visit a restaurant, watch a match, or gamble in the Casino Pierre Beach. So why does it deserve to host the Champion's Cup Final? Stade Pierre Beach provides an excellent location for the match. Fans coming to see there club can take a nice break on one of the most beautiful beaches in the country to calm there nerves before the big game. Any type of entertainment, you've got it in Pierre Beach. It's also one of the warmest cities in the nation, and even if is a rainy day, you've got SportCity! SportCity is a massive complex underneath the pitch, containing, well, everything in a city. A mall, a movie theatre, a gym, a train station, a bank, a casino, and even some apartments! Yes, Pierre Beach truly has it all. We thank the UICA for considering our bid, and look forward to working with them again in the future.

Farfadilllis (FFD) qualifiers
Champions’ Cup 51: La Nueva Avenida, Mâ Âlâmëómë
Globe Cup 48: Avenida Leal, Fryi Frêndê, Avenida Victoria
Series B Champions’ Cup 48: Dí Maozöxê, Flamagua, Madorre de Fuego, Rivijera

Farfadillis (FFD) final site bids
Globe Cup: Estadio Natal (25,000 seats)
Estadio Natal is home to Avenida Natal, a rather mediocre team from Puerto Farolero. However, the stadium is by no means bad, and can no doubt hold a Globe Cup final without many incidents. The Farves that live close to it aren't very aggressive, which is a big plus. Obviously, there may be a few violent crimes or similar, but very few!

Series B Champions' Cup: La Gran Avenida (60,000 seats)
La Gran Avenida is a stadium located in the middle of a forest, and it's home to many 'Avenida's, teams with Avenida somewhere in their names. Avenida Principal, La Nueva Avenida, Avenida Victoria, Avenida de la Cruz, Avenida Azulada; the list goes on and on. The stadium itself is very good in terms of infrastructure, and the number of Farves that cause problems has been minimized by a rather brutal attempt from the Federal Council. Bidding for the Globe Cup seems futile, so the Series B Champions' Cup looks like a good alternative to the FFL.

For the first time in the modern era, there is a new champion in Kerician football. Fulton earned their first championship and simultaneously ended Kericia City's four season run at the top. Following a disastrous season in which they were nearly relegated, Fulton amassed a 20-0-2 record. The Raiders' only losses were to rivals Kericia City and a shock defeat to last place Amboy. The defending champions kept things somewhat close in second place, but a few late losses and draws prevented City from winning their fifth consecutive league title. Hastings finished a respectable third, giving them their fourth Globe Cup appearance. Granby edged Kericia Town on goal difference to earn fourth place and their first Globe Cup berth. After only garnering three wins total between themselves, Parish and Amboy make a swift return to the Second Division, to be replaced by Constantia and Volney.

Felinetopia Pawball Season 2

Felinetopian Clubs had a fine season in the UICA for a first year association. With Lions PC earning a win in the Champion's Cup in the first preliminary round before losing to Spatula City Utensils of 95X in the second. The Felines are proud of the cats and human who play for these teams representing Felinetopia for the first time. Yet there are still arguments over how to run the Feline Cup however the word is that there is progress in the talks with the agreement of the name and how it should be formatted. However the final details like whether to allow amateur teams in or not.

Presidential American Results

Note after first three seasons all three years points were added up with the top 24 staying in the top division and the lower 24 being placed in a second division. Promotion will be top 2 plus winner of a 4 team playoff. The winner of that playoff plays the third team to be relegated from the top division for a chance at the top division for the next season. Bottom two teams are automatically relegated.

(As per last season's post.)

OOC Explanation: Too busy to make a detailed RP for the season, so I resorted to resubmit entries, sans SBCC qualifiers.

IC Explanation:

Amid fears that the KPAK (Kilusang Pangkalayaan ng Ati Kaluraya) may make a move to attack places in Sangti, the league will be postponed a year in order to stabilize tensions and improve relations with the newly-independent neighbors, which had its entire land made from reclamation. Politicians are concerned amid plans of KPAK to attack Sangtian land in the near future.

As a result, the FA Sangti requested UICA and the Royal Licentian FA to enter the same entrants as of last season, pending reduction of entries for the Campionato Esportivano di Campiones from four teams down to two, and the non-entry of previous entrants of the Series B Champions Cup. For the Cygnus Cup however, the state of the competition is unknown due to unforseen circumstances. However, the Cup Champions, Deportivo Nespa will enter the next edition, if there will be one.

Sangti (SGT) qualifiers
Champions' Cup 51: Deportivo Nespa
Globe Cup 48: Real Cintore, Real Tiagosan, CD Viocla

Cygnus Cup 26: Deportivo Nespa
Campionato Esportivano di Campeones VIII: Deportivo Nespa, Real Cintore

Castle of Bureaucracy, Hall 1b 2.3.17, Ministry of Public Relations, Office of Minister Jenan Vas

A single, hard tap on the door.

"Enter" grumbled Vas from behind a mountain of standard lemon-release boilerplate. It was the third today that he'd been disturbed from his incredibly strenuous job of making sure that the people of the Northern Wastes got their Government-approved Lemons. A pair of sunglass-wearing eyes popped it's head round the door, before the rest of the body, wearing a lurid Hawaiian-shirt and surf-shorts, followed.

Vas looked up and stared. The badly-dressed man extended his arms as to demonstrate what he was wearing. Vas was fully aware. The man was holding a small brown suitcase, covered in various stickers and badges, and he threw in the vague direction of the sofa in the corner. He missed and upon hitting the floor, the suitcase spewed forth it's random contents: A half-empty bottle of whisky. A stuffed parrot, the bow of a violin.

"Kit. You're back 4 days early"

"Yeah, a lot of the universe is horrifically dull. So many ponies."

"Anything particular to report?"

"Errr, no, not really"

"So the Ministry sent you on a Bh900,000 trip and you come back with nothing. This will go on you record"

Vas swivelled on his chair to pull out a report paper, but Kit stopped him in the midst of the tedious process of finding the paper.

"I did, er, find one thing"

"And what was that"

"Football, everyone loves football"

"Football, the game played by ruffians and beach-people?"

"Yessir"

Football had been brought to the shores of Blackclyffe over 100 years ago by foreign sailors, but when they introduced it to the locals, the locals proceeded to beat them to death with sticks. Since then it had been played, in a very different, much more aggressive form by street children.

"It's incredibly popular" continued Kit "In fact, some people pay large amounts to watch it"

Vas considered this for a second.

"Extraordinary. So you say we should do some of this Football?"

"I think it wouldn't hurt, if we want to integrate into the Multiversial community. In fact, I've gone to the liberty to getting us started..."

Cosker's Limeade Championships

Teams

Bureaucrats
Bio: Formed from the faceless ranks of Blackclyffe bureaucracy, their sheer numbers to choose from make them a decent side. They play very defensively, getting any goals they do get through break-aways and set pieces.
Kits: Uninspiring Grey white Dull White stripes
Stadium: Herod's Park, Lissam (2,200)

Lost Mariners
Bio: A club created by merging several athletic clubs from Raven's Landing and it's satellite villages. Closest thing to resembling an actual football team in the league.
Kits: All Drowning Man Blue
Stadium: Wild Bay Arena, Raven's Landing (14,000)

Barley Girls
Bio: A team from the farming districts in the east of the country, and consisting of only women. Extremely rough, taking no prisoners.
Kits: Barley Orange tops with white shorts
Stadium: Pickers Field, Eastbrook Spring (4,120)

University of Heresay
Bio: Taken from the Memory Scholars and students at the University on the top of the hill. Very tactically aware, having seen every game of football in recorded memory, but not very skilled.
Kits: Deep Thought Blue & Snow White hoops
Stadium: Currahs Academy Park (900)

Engineers 76 FC
Bio: The 1st of two clubs to be formed from the ranks of Blackclyffe's Armed Forces. The 76th Engineering Corps, based out of Witches Valley, only knew about the game after one of their former employees, Kit Argenhelt, introduced them to the game after travelling the Multiverse.
Kits: Steel Grey with Fire Orange trim
Stadium: Kellock's Grass (2,300)

Barwyck-by-Mock Flyers
Bio: The second military club, this time from the Air-Corps base in Barwyck-by-Mock. Not much knowledge of football, but always willing to something a good go.
Kits: Cloud White with Lightning Blue shoulders
Stadium: The Marsh (800)

UMC
Bio: The United Medical Corporation, an ominous, shadowy organisation has put out a team in a show of "good relations with the public". Mostly highly trained ringers with the occasional local brute.
Kits: Night Black and Moss Green
Stadium: UMC Super-Arena (125,000) (Never filled beyond 1,000)

Colts
Bio: Formed from a riding club in Raven's Landing. However, there are no sentient ponies to be seen. Another Women's team, this time a little more refined and little less rough.
Kits: White with a Red Horse in the centre of the shirt. Red shorts.

Tropical Trophy

The Tropical Trophy is a seasonal competition between the Vilitan Stellar Division Champions and Vilitan Cup Champions. There has been some controversy as to whether it is a "Season Ending" event or a "Season beginning" event, though it has tended to be closer to the start of the new season, then the end of the previous one.

For this seasons Tropical Trophy, The V-League Stellar Division Champions (Jungle Strike FC) were invited to face off against the defending Vilitan Cup Champions (Mliona-Lpaka). Jungle Strike FC were making their all-time leading 24th appearance in the Tropical Trophy. Having appeared in over half of the Tropical Trophy's ever held, Strike also hold the record for most Tropical Trophy titles with 14. However, for the first time in the modern era, the Tropical Trophy was a rematch from the previous season. For Mliona-Lpaka it would be their third appearance in the one-off clash having won the match during Season 36 over the Turoki Tide but dropping the Season 37 event to Strike.

Vilita's Venom v. Turori's Titans

Jungle Strike FC [4-3-3] ::
[GK] Kajaxo Imaslavii (AUD), [D] Henri-Rene Lavallere (NMS), [D] Miiara Makose (VIL), [D] Azestella Ajhabekk (STR), [D] Riksa Valjariia (VIL), [M] Viliaka Morasita (VIL), [M] Yves Gadois (VIL), [M] Relmar Winauat (VIL), [F] Viji-mara Lawaai (VIL), [F] Enluta Makakio (TUR), [F] Lorccan Cotterill (WGT)

Mliona-Lpaka Turori AFC [3-4-3] ::
[GK] Maria Carrizales (TBI), [D] Leiei Danias, [D] Murita Ravinia, [D] Suru Zakoli, [M] Lso Mpaktyana, [M] Piran Mackenzie (WGT), [M] Lopaki Kilpter (VIL), [M] Tasan Beletisk, [F] Xavier Boyle (LGL), [F] Inamari Altariiz (TUR), [F] Aimee Irin'Lur (ASV)

Vilitan/Turorian Dual National referee Nuliko Meteorik officiated the Tropical Trophy for the fourth consecutive season.

:: The Kickoff

Mliona-Lpaka put the pressure on the Venom from the start forcing mistakes from the Strike backline and earning multiple set-play chances in the opening minutes.

Relmar Winauat was already in the referees book within the first 10 minutes of the match after a series of back-to-back fouls. However, the early set play chances wouldn't amount to anything for the Turorian side and Strike started to find their way back into the game by distributing the ball forward to Viji-mara Lawaai.

Lawaai had an excellent change in the 15th minute but could not keep the ball down and the score stayed level until an attack on the other end of the field 3 minutes later.

After some strong 1-2 play up the wings, it was the young Turorian Inamari Altariiz who ended up with the ball just inside the 18 yard box and unleashed a screamer of a shot that bested Kajaxo Imaslavii and put Mliona-Lpaka up 1-0.

It took some time for the match to get back into high gear, with some of the most excitement over the following 15 minutes an incident in the stands involving a telescoping pole being confiscated after one over-zealous fan tried to cleverly wave his teams banner in the stadium.

With 10 minutes left before the half time break, Lorccan Cotterill broke free for the Venom but could not put the ball home - the Mliona Lpaka goalkeeper diving low to smother the ball as it yearned for the corner of the net unsuccesfully.

:: The Second Half

After going into the break with the lead, Jonathon Bijl sent his team back onto the field with a slightly different look: Legalite attacker Xavier Boyle was replaced by Turorian midfielder Rutaj Ranaso as the Turorians looked to tighten up and protect the slim advantage.

The strategy quickly backfired, however, as the Venom's attacking trio teamed up to take chances at the Mliona-Lpaka goal. One by one, chances from Makakio, Lawaai and Cotterill were turned aside until Riksa Valjariia swooped in to pick up the trash on one such effort and level the scores for the Vilitan champions.

With the scores level, Strike continued to push forward with the majority of the pressure and looking most likely to get the go-ahead goal. However, Mliona-Lpaka was playing very aware of the situation and capitalized in the best way possible on a 56th minute Counter-Attack.

The Venom found themselves trailing once again - against the run of play, and searching for the equalizer. In what was certainly evolving to be one of the more exciting Tropical Trophy fixtures of recent times, Strike would level the scores with 17 minutes to play through Viliaka Morasita setting up a grand stand finish with the best team from the Tropics of Vilita duking it out on the pitch with the best side from the Island Emirate of Turori with silverware on the line.

After the goal, the Venom made one substitution, removing Relmar Winauat from the match in favor of the more attack-minded threat of Friekder Dandaellion. Just minutes later, unfortunately, Viliaka Morasita was injured and the Venom didn't have the same kind of international talent on the bench to step in for the goalscorer, having reduced their wage bill in recent seasons after repeated failures in the UICA Champions Cup - despite winning virtually any other competition they were entered in.

Neither side was prepared to lose the match and after 3 minutes of stoppage time, another 30 minutes were on tap before a winner could be decided.

Viji-mara Lawaai had the first chance of the extra session firing in a shot that could only be pushed aside for a Strike FC corner kick. It started a sequence of 'Shot-Save-Corner' that repeated itself after shots from Lorccan Cotterill, Enluta Makakio and Henri-Rene Lavaillere were turned aside before the danger was finally cleared. The sequence was the only real danger created in the first half of the extra session, a slight contrast from the previous 90 minutes.

The trend continued through the second 15 minute session and the teams seemed ready to get the penalty shootout under way, crown a champion and go home.

Henri-Rene Lavaillere stepped up first for the Venom but the New Montreal States defender missed the target on his tone-setting spot kick giving the Turorians confidence as the shootout progressed.

Rutaj Ranaso, Piran Mackenzie, Inamari Altariiz and Murita Ravinia scored for Mliona-Lpaka to give them a 4-3 lead before Miiara Makose stepped up as the 5th shooter for the Venom, needing a goal to extend the shootout.

The experienced defender made absolutely no mistake, calmly rolling the ball into the corner of the net and sending the pressure back over to the Turorians whose destiny now lay in the foot of the local player Leiei Danias.

Danias, who had never been considered an 'international caliber' player, was being stared down by 2-time World Cup Champion Kajaxo Imaslavii as the Meteorik whistle sounded to allow the spot kick to be taken.

It was a slow run-up but the shot had power and Imaslavii could do nothing with it, beaten by a local Turorian player who went from bit-part player to home-town hero with one stroke of the foot at the Tivali Ring Stadium.

Statwise:
:: This is Mliona-Lpaka's 2nd Tropical Trophy Victory in their 3rd appearance.
:: This is Strike FC's 11th Tropical Trophy Defeat (25th Appearance)
:: This is the 6th Tropical Trophy to be decided on Penalty Kicks
:: This is the 12th Tropical Trophy to require Extra Time
:: This is the 3rd Tropical Trophy to be tied 2-2 after 90 minutes
:: This is the 1st Tropical Trophy that has ended in a 2-2 Scoreline

Tropical Trophy Host Site:

Tivali Ring Stadium - Alikki-Corra, Vilita (87,000 Capacity)
The Football Association of Vilita is based at the Tivali-Ring Stadium in the capital city of Alikki-Corra, Vilita and many National Team training sessions take place on the grounds of the Tivali Ring. The Football Association regularly schedule matches at arenas throughout Vilita, especially bigger matches as many of the stadiums that host Stellar Division and UICA competition matches have expanded far beyond the capacity of the National Stadium at Tivali Ring, which is used only for the National Team, and, for the Vilitan Cup Final and Tropical Trophy matchup. In addition to its World Cup matches, 'The Ring' hosted the 40th UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup Final. The stadium was constructed as part of the Vilitan bid to host the World Cup 14 Cup of Harmony as a replacement to the former National Stadium in Lopinka that was destroyed during a regional conflict.

The Iturributan Premier Division: Season 658 Preview

Iturributa United, having suffered defeat in the Globe Cup final against Carter FC of Jasĭyun, are rearing to go and defend their title against a wounded Sporting Iturributa – both sides have reinforced themselves ahead of the 12th season of Iturributan football, but with the smaller sides gaining ground there are no guarantees...

Midfielder Andima Etchaleku and Aelsh legend Elwyn Richard are gone from Iturributa United; in their stead come Mangolanan international Jordan Montgomery and Sunrisian winger Marcelinho Carnavalense – young players that Petter Bielsen has much faith in. Getting to the Globe Cup final was a major feat, and the Scarlet Stripes are hopeful that more of the same should be enough to finally succeed at defending a title and embark on another ambitious UICA campaign.

Sporting, for their part, reached the Cygnus Cup semifinals, and only a loss to Medoria Löwen avoided a repeat of the Copa de Campeones 22 final against Royal Rumiatzi. They've lost manager Eneko Dicharry to the Iturributan national team but his replacement is formidable – Stirvik TU eliminated Sporting from the Champions' Cup first knockout round, but manager Reaven Laynee must've liked what she saw and has gladly signed with the Chevrons. The result has been some cleanup, such as reduced reliance on the venerable Josh Stevenson and the quick sale of striker Oxel Nuin to an eager Iturributa Racing, along with two interesting signings: Syndicatian international Adam Willis and promising Polarian powrward (power-forward, coined by an enlightened Chronicle editor) Torsten Wolff.

The Rest

ImageImage
Freedom FC
Ground: Lon Biteri Stadium (19,700), Iturributa
Colours: Red and yellow striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Honours: 1 President's Cup (655)
Shirt Sponsor: Hultman-Erstad (Polarian banking)
Star Player: Urtatz Gaubeka (CF)
Notes: Freedom FC have consolidated themselves in the Globe Cup spots without much trouble, helped significantly by the meddling of Independent Garitzeta, and last season managed to be a mere seven points off second-placed Sporting Iturributa; so long as Urtatz Gaubeka maintains his form, and the rest of the team help him do so, third place is within easy reach.
Season 657: 3rd

ImageImage
Independent Garitzeta
Ground: Martyrs Arena (43,350), Garitzeta
Colours: White with blue stripe, white shorts, blue socks
Shirt Sponsor: Pratarra (Iturributan alcoholic drinks)
Star Player: Liher Beramendi (CM)
Notes: Their Globe Cup run was cut embarrassingly short by a team from the Greater Maritime Union, but the fact remains: Independent Garitzeta are a Globe Cup team and should aim to be comfortable in their new surroundings. Getting to the President's Cup final was another milestone, and if they could just take that next step they'd earn the respect they so desperately crave.
Season 657: 4th

ImageImage
Garitzeta Racing Club
Ground: Letatzadur Stadium (21,260), Garitzeta
Colours: Black and orange striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Honours: 1 President's Cups (652)
Shirt Sponsor: ChocoMilk (Citiz dairy products)
Star Player: Ilari Usun (LM)
Notes: Barely qualifying for the Globe Cup on head-to-head results was certainly exciting, especially when it meant edging Iturributa Racing to the prize, but their other rivals Indpendent Garitzeta were still patently superior throughout the season. Garitzeta Racing fans have a right to be somewhat nervous, but on paper this is still a strong side; using Ilari Usun and Yuaneizu Iribarnegaray to their full capacity they can still challenge for that prestigious third place.
Season 657: 5th

ImageImage
Iturributa Racing Club
Ground: The Hippodrome (22,160), Iturributa
Colours: Orange shirt with black stripe, orange shorts and socks
Honours: 3 President's Cups (647, 650, 656)
Shirt Sponsor: Badiola (Iturributan automobiles)
Star Player: Oxel Nuin (CF)
Notes: Iturributa Racing's fortunes have nosedived since the departure of Bayardo Morriyas as manager, struggling to qualify for the Globe Cup. They've failed to make it once more an Estebe Bularte was shown the door; the fans are hoping for a swift return to the natural order of things under Eate Orkiola, whose first move was to sign Astograthian striker Oxel Nuin from Sporting Iturributa – a veteran of many battles, still going strong.
Season 657: 6th

ImageImage
Langaraitz Rovers
Ground: The Settling Grounds (24,400), Langaraitz
Colours: Black and light blue striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Shirt Sponsor: Iturrikola (Iturributan soft drinks)
Star Player: Obeko Mundutegi (AM)
Notes: It was, perhaps, too much to expect the Rovers to hold onto their surprising third place, now dropping down to a less subversive position. They've held onto star player Obeko Mundutegi, but he can't do all the work - and should they fail to make the Globe Cup his leaving is practically a certainty.
Season 657: 7th

ImageImage
Baker's Eleven
Ground: Bartewick Bluff (5,800), Iturributa
Colours: Red shirt, black shorts, red socks
Shirt Sponsor: Bartewick Financial (Citiz banking)
Star Player: Mendebal Zariategi (RM)
Notes: Baker's Eleven managed to keep themselves afloat last season – just barely, by four points – and are secondary candidates for the drop this time around. They say the second season after promotion is the hardest, and they'll certainly be put to the test; it'll take all they've got to fend off Guenara Defender and Andozketa Wanderers.
Season 657: 8th

ImageImage
Andozketa Wanderers
Ground: Oyandiano Stadium (16,000), Andozketa
Colours: Red and black striped shirt, red shorts and socks
Shirt Sponsor: Neaskor (Astograthian tyres)
Star Player: Esturo Lain (CM)
Notes: Andozketa Wanderers are, being blunt, widely expected to be this season's relegated team. Little in the way of investment or renovation means more of the same slow, defensively feeble play. Baker's Eleven and Guenara Defender will fight tooth-and-nail for their continued presence in the Premier Division; Wanderers have their work cut out for them.
Season 657: 9th

ImageImage
Guenara Defender
Ground: The Final Frontier (25,920), Guenara
Colours: Yellow kit, black shorts, yellow socks
Shirt Sponsor: Kirrolen (Iturributan energy drinks)
Star Player: Endira Olaberria (CB)
Notes: They failed to get very far in the SBCC, which never bodes well, but Guenara Defender won promotion with a smart, tactical, defensively responsible game that would appear well-suited for the rigours of the Premier Division. Most of its players are as of yet untested at the highest level, following a length absence from the top flight for Defender, but they appear to be on better footing than Andozketa Wanderers or Baker's Eleven.

**First Season in Stellar Division

OPENING DAY SUMMARY:

The new season opened up at Track Venture Field as Makosile United played host to Marine Coast United marking the historic Crosaibi club's return to the Stellar Division.

It was not a happy return, however, as Rainbow Blitz stole the show, scoring a goal and putting in a prime-time performance, coupled with goals from Xcnaio Bansoa and Ichi Tuzzio to give the Makos a 3-0 lead to start the season atop the table.

Only 2 other teams recorded victories on the opening matchday, a 1-0 win for Mliona-Lpaka over the other debutant team, Alikki-Corra FC; and a new-look Colonial Sile joining their rivals on 3 points with a 1-0 win over Kiiara-Torra.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 6:

Strike FC recorded their first signature victory of the season on Matchday 2 with a 4-1 trolloping of the Yeaddin Owls at the historic Lirai Asku Castle. A pair of goals from Enluta Makakio set the tone for the Venom while Lorccan Cotterill and Friekder Dandalleion also got on the scoresheet.

On Matchday 3, Strike traveled to Track Venture Field to clash with Makosile but the match left much to be desired with the earlier season favorites playing to a goalless draw. The schedule was jam-packed for the Venom, however, and they returned home to Lonngeylin to host Tropical Trophy champions Mliona-Lpaka on Matchday 4.

This time, the Venom got the best of their Turorian rivals, picking up a cool 3-0 victory that moved them back into second place in the Stellar Division table, 2 points behind early seasons surprise and cross-town rivals Lonngeylin Coast.

Mliona-Lpaka's troubles continued on Matchday 5 as they were once again beaten 3-0, this time by Makosile United. Despite being their only two defeats of the young season, the poor performances against championship rivals was quickly reducing the confidence level that had been built in Turori after the Tropical Trophy success.

A goalless draw with Jlinal Cove - who had incredibly drawn all 6 of their matches without scoring or conceceding a single goal - saw Lonngeylin Coast slip back level on points with Strike FC as the Stellar Division table saw the long-sought after dream battle between a pair of Lonngeylin clubs to further energize the sports market on Vilita's Western Coast. Makosile United were just 3 points back, however, lurking and waiting to points should one of the unbeaten teams slip up.

The floodgates were open in Yeaddin as the Owls had conceded 17 goals in the first 6 matches, putting the managers job in extreme jeopardy, and, as has become the norm in recent seasons, saw the management in Yeaddin reach deep into their pockets to attempt to sign new players to fight off the threat of relegation.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 10:

It took the hemorraging Yeaddin Owls coming to town to end Jlinal Cove's scoreless start to the season as a pair of goals from Liinai Zakazaka spurred on a 3-0 victory ended a string of 8 goaless draws. Of course, Jlinal's impressive perfect defensive record remained in tact. It wasn't until the following matchday against the youngsters of Alikki-Corra FC that Jlinal Cove would finally concede their first goal in a 1-1 draw.

Lonngeylin Coast would also suffer their first defeat on the same day at the hands of Turoki United allowing Strike FC to create a 3 point gap between the two leaders.

A strong performance for Lonngeylin Coast in their first matchup against championship favorites saw them leave the Track Venture Field in sile with a point allowing the surprise package to hold on to the second place and, perhaps more importantly, hold Strike to a 1-1 draw at Lonngeylin Park.

Thunderlane's 5th goal of the season was enough to give Kiiara-Torra a slim victory over the Yeaddin Owls on Matchday 10, however, on the positive side for the Owls, it was the first time in 5 matches that they had conceded fewer than 3 goals.

THROUGH MID-SEASON:
Lonngeylin Coast repeated the feat with a draw against Mliona-Lpaka on matchday 11 - but once again allowed Strike to inch further from their grasp with the defending champions pulling out to a 7 point lead. Furthermore, after a 3-0 thrashing of rivals Colonial in the Sile derby, Ichi Tuzzio, Retiso Buran and Lorenzo Borromeo with the goals, Makosile and Turoki United had pulled level on points with Lonngeylin Coast in second place.

Strike finished out the first half of the season with a pair of 3-0 victories over relegation-threatened Alikki-Corra and Marine Coast United. Lonngeylin Coast kept up the pace, however, with wins over Cednia Beach and Kiiara-Torra to remain 7 points adrift in the second position, 2 points ahead of Makosile and Turoki United.

At the bottom of the table, it was all struggles for the Yeaddin Owls and Aliki-Corra FC who had won just a single game each and were 3 points behind 12th placed Marine Coast United. However, Arcticala Inlet and Kiiara-Torra were still within striking distance as well having just 2 wins in the opening 13 matches.

Strike FC's Friekder Dandalleion and Lonngeylin Coast rival Rocka Lorei were leading the goalscoring charts at 7 goals a piece with Kiiara-Torra's Thunderlane the next closest with 5 goals at the seasons midway point.

The transfer waves hit full force during this off-season with many teams looking to re-position themselves for the second half. Relegation threatened Marine Coast United could no-longer keep hold of attacking starlet Kaivel Illatara who moved down the coast to challenge for a title with Lonngeylin Coast.

The big transfer, however, was Aguazul's Merlin Salomon departing Colonial Sile. After winning the Vilitan Cup in his debut season in Sile, Salomon had achieved little success in the 8 subsequent seasons. Mliona-Lpaka Turori were sitting 5 points clear of Cednia Beach in the table giving Salomon the chance to play in the UICA Champions Cup again by joining the rivals of his former club.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 16:
As the second half resumed, the tone quickly changed as Strike FC suffered their first defeat of the season 1-0 to Turoki United who moved into a 3-way tie for second place with the result. Lonngeylin Coast, with the chance to close the gap, were held 2-2 by Arcticala Inlet allowing Turoki United and Makosile to join them 6 points behind the leaders.

Lonngeylin Coast fans quickly began to wonder if their season was falling apart after a 2-1 defeat to the Turoki Tide saw them slip to 5th in the table, 3 points behind second place Turoki United who defeated Makosile 1-0 to take sole position of the 2nd place.

Strike hosted Makosile on Matchday 16 in a match that had the chance to turn the tables on their head and make it a 6 team battle for the top spot. Instead, Viliaka Morasita's 76th minute winner gave the leaders all 3 points and dropped the Makos to 6th place, 12 points back.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 20:

Strike FC finally looked vulnerable falling to their second defeat in four matchdays as Mliona-Lpaka came into the Lonngeylin Coliseum knowing their title hopes would be nullified without a victory. Turori's Titans came through and closed the gap with the leaders down to 6 points with Turoki United and Lonngeylin Coast also in the thick of things.

Another Strike defeat on Matchday 20 at the hands of Arcticala Inlet opened the door for the field to close the gap in the title race. However, Turoki United were defeated in the Turoki derby as the Tide pulled themselves into the title picture closing to within 3 points of their 2nd place rivals. Lonngeylin Coast, sitting in third place, were held 3-3 by relegation-threatened Marine Coast United and 4th placed Mliona-Lpaka were held to a goalless draw in a Turorian showdown with Cednia Beach AFC, minimizing the gains made on the leaders.

The situation was dire at the Lirai Asku Castle as 17 defeats from 20 matches saw the Owls staring in the face of a first-ever relegation from the Stellar Division. Hemorraging at the goal mouth was clearly the cause of the Owls demise as the storied northern club was on pace to match its 'Most Goals Scored' in a season record with a 'Most Goals Conceded' record to sit right next to it, with nearly 2.5 goals against per match over the first 20 games.

THE STRETCH RUN:

Just one match after their rivals cost them three points in the Turoki derby, Turoki United regained two of those points as the Tide held leaders Strike in a goalless affair while Turoki United ensured it would be them, and not Lonngeylin Coast who was challenging for the title with the Stellar Division Giants.

Mliona-Lpaka also recorded a victory to sneak closer to the top with some fans thinking perhaps that it was time again for a Turorian club to be crowned champion of the Stellar Division.

A clear gap had formed between the top 6 clubs and 7th place Colonial Sile who's inconsistent performances had left them as the 'best of the rest' with 5 games to play.

Not satisfied with having been written off in the title chase, Lonngeylin Coast made the trip across town to the Lonngeylin Coliseum and rode goals from Erocka Lorei and Baiiub Jual-Knakok to upset the leaders and tighten the top of the Stellar Division table to the closest it had been in recent history with 5th placed Lonngeylin Coast just 3 points behind the struggling Venom.

Makosile United quickly put an end to Lonngeylin Coast's title aspirations with a 2-1 victory in Lonngeylin, catapulting the Makos into second place on the heels of Mliona-Lpaka's goalless draw with the Turoki Tide and Turoki United's unlikely defeat to Jlinal Cove.

A pair of goals from Friekder Dandalleion pushed Strike's advantage at the top back to three points but the news of the day came out of Kiiara Park where the lone goal from Thunderlane in the 43rd minute signalled the end of over 40 seasons in the top flight of Vilitan Association Football for one of the great clubs of all time, the Yeaddin Owls. Coupled with Alikki-Corra's 1-0 defeat of Marine Coast United, it was confirmed that the Lirai Asku Castle would play host to Declasse level competition for the first time in its history during the upcoming Season 42.

It was a case of too-little-too-late for the Yeaddin Owls on Matchday 24 for the Yeaddin Owls who put together their best performance of the season in front of the home fans at the Lirai Asku Castle pummeling Marine Coast United 4-0 to put their biggest rivals into the relegation zone as if to say "If we're going down, you're coming with us" to the Crosaibi club.

At the top of the table, Strike's run of poor form continued with a home defeat to a surging Jlinal Cove but losers in the Sile derby, Makosile were undone by a goal from Santos Alaminos and could not close the gap while Mliona-Lpaka and Lonngeylin Coast played out to a goaless draw.

THE DECISIVE FINISH:

The field was left to think about all the missed opportunities over the stretch as a weak closing schedule set Strike FC up brilliantly toe close out the season with a 3 point advantage heading into the final two matches. First up, relegation threatened Alikki-Corra and a 3-0 thrashing to build up their slim Goal-Differential advantage against now-second place Mliona-Lpaka who were 3 points and 3 goals difference behind after their win over Colonial Sile.

That was it, as Makosile United fell to late-season spoilers Jlinal Cove and Turoki United were held by Marine Coast United to make what had looked to be the closest stretch run in Stellar Division history into a two-horse race as the Vilitan League Season would finish the way it started, with Mliona-Lpaka of Turori attempting to take down Strike FC of Vilita.

13 :: [18] - Marine Coast United

Unfortunately for the Turorian's it was a match against in-form Jlinal Cove - slayers of Turoki United, Strike FC and Makosile United in consecutive matches. Strike FC, on the other hand, would host Marine Coast United in what looked set to be the storied clubs last match in the Stellar Division if they were unable to pull out the upset result over the league leaders who were looking for their third straight title.

Strike FC v. Marine Coast United :: The entire season would effectively be bookended at the Lonngeylin Coliseum - if the result went as expected, a victory for the Venom would give Strike a third consecutive Stellar Division title while the defeat would send Marine Coast United back down to the Declasse.

There was still hope in Turori that Mliona-Lpaka could pull out a miracle and the Turorian's were doing their part with an early goal but Strike FC proved too strong for Marine Coast United in the opening 45 minutes taking a 2-0 lead after goals from Riksa Valjariia and Friekder Dandalleion.

Marine Coast United pressed forward looking for a way to save their Stellar Division Status but they could not find a way through and the frustration eventually got the best of them as star defender Endur Rotropii was sent off late in the match - a dissapointing end for the Crosaibi club - and the rest of the contenders in the Stellar Division. As the dust settled, everyone would realize what an opportunity they had blown as Strike FC claimed the Stellar Division title for a record 16th time despite suffering 5 defeats over the final 13 matches.

OPENING DAY SUMMARY:

A recharged Kiiarana City side unsurprisingly came out winners in their first Declasse-level match since season 17. Goals from Tumo Makanopalani and Tiika Diirotora set the former Stellar Division runners-up atop the Declasse table

THROUGH MATCHDAY 8:

After starting the season in a flash, Kiiarana City's defensive weaknesses began to shine through as they were held to a series of high-scoring draws that dropped them to 4th in the table with 8 games played.

Lonngeylin City looked to be charging towards an immediate return to the Stellar Division, perhaps inspired by the dogged fight between their in-town opponents.

A surprise, however, was the strong play of FC Almintora who had just one defeat and found themselves in second place 2 points ahead of Akisa Surta.

While there was success at one end of Turori, it was misery for the Island Emirate at the other end of the table where the Inura Forests and newcomers Cedniavella were winless - Cedniavella still looking for their first goal of the season.

THROUGH MID-SEASON:

Lonngeylin City, just one season after being relegated from the Stellar Division, seemed on course for a quick return, holding the lead at the mid-way point with 7 wins in the opening 13 games.

However, surprise-package FC Almintora of Turori were right on their heels, 1 point back and level with Turoki Isle battling for a top-flight return. Pre-Season favorites Kiiarana City were still in the fight as well along with Eastal Lunar.

At the other end of the table, Inland Peaks inched closer to climbing out of the bottom 2 on Matchday 13 as they recorded their first victory of the season, a 1-0 result over the Corra Rovers. Inura Forests, on the other hand, were still searching for their first win of the season, mired at the bottom of the table with 7 points standing between them and the 12th place Lopinka Rovers.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 16:

FC Almintora continued a streak of unbeaten matches while Lonngeylin City failed to perform, giving the Turorian side the lead through Matchday 16. However, the rest of the pack was hot on their heels with second place Eastal Lunar just a single point behind.

With a full squad of international players, Kiiarana City were level with Lonngeylin City just one point behind Eastal Lunar as they positioned themselves for a late season push back into the Stellar Division. Turoki Isle sat a further point back in 5th place but found themselves just 3 points off the top of the table.

However, the big news came at the bottom of hte table. Just 2 points clear of the relegation zone - their League status threatened, Kionao Locals made a steal of a signing, picking up experienced Vilita National Team forward Lita Adjei. There was a condition to the transfer, however - Adjei had to be given control of the club, signing on as Player/Manager.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 20:

Turoki Isle powered together a 3-0 victory over then second-placed Lonngeylin City, knocking the Lonngeylin Club out of the promotion places and pulling themselves into the battle 4 points behind FC Almintora. The Turorian club, the story of the Declasse season, was just 1 point behind league favorites Kiiarana City.

THE PROMOTION BATTLE:

Both Kiiarana City and FC Almintora lost on Matchday 21 completely eroding the buffer that the two sides had built over the field. By virtue of their win over FC Almintora, Eastal Lunar climbed into the third position, level on points with the Turorian side but deficient in the goal differential equation. Turoki Isle and Lonngeylin City both found themselves within 3 points of the top while 6th place Rammsissil, tamers of Kiiarana City, were trying to join the fight 5 points back.

While one Turorian team fought for promotion, the other 3 were in a dogged battle to avoid expulsion from the league with Inura Forests finally claiming their first victory of the season on Matchday 21, pulling them to within 5 points of Cedniavella and the Kionao Locals fighting for 12th.

The Shake-up finally came on Matchday 22 as Kiiarana City and FC Almintora played each other to a goaless draw at the National Stadium in Almintora. It was two points lost, however, for both sides as Eastal Lunar's 2-0 victory over Lopinka catapulted them to the top of the table.

After occupying the promotion slots for 20 weeks, FC Almintora and Kiiarana City continued their free fall, each on a 3-game winless streak finding themselves all-of-a-sudden on the outside looking in as Eastal Lunar and Turoki Isle re-positioned themselves as the leaders with Lonngeylin City 1 point back.

Turoki Isle's win over Inura Forests all-but relegated the Turorian side, their five season run in the Vilitan League at serious risk as they found themselves 7 points behind Cedniavella with just 9 points to play for.

2 :: [40] - Turoki Isle

A draw with leaders Eastal Lunar on Matchday 24 followed by a shock defeat to the relegation-threatened Corra Rangers on Matchday 25 left pre-season favorites Kiiarana City left on the outside looking in, knocked out of the promotion battle despite a team full of international talent that was almost certain to start questioning whether it was time to move on instead of attempt another season in the Declasse.

By virtue of their draws, Eastal Lunar fell to joint 2nd in the table heading into the final matchday with Lonngeylin City sneaking ahead of the Seraai club by virtue of a superior goals scored tally. After a strong run, only a miracle could rescue FC Almintora's promotion campaign, the Turorian club needing both Eastal Lunar and Lonngeylin City to lose on the final matchday in order to gain promotion with 3 points.

At the bottom of the table, Inura Forests were already preparing for life back in the non-league spectra while another Turorian side, Cedniavella, invitees to the league system for the first time in club history, were left needing to get a result against high-flying FC Almintora in order to have any chance of leap-frogging either Lopinka, Corra Rovers or the Lita Adjei-led Kionao Locals to avoid the drop.

THE FINAL MATCHDAY:

FC Almintora v. Cedniavella :: Cedniavella needed victory over their new rivals to ensure their participation in the Vilitan League's 42nd season but with hopes of promotion still on the mind in Almintora, there was no sympathy left to go around. FC Almintora defeated the former UICA Series-B Champions Cup winners by a 2-0 scoreline to give them a swift ticket back into non-league obscurity confirming the Vilitan league would once again lose a pair of under-performing Turorian clubs at seasons end.

Eastal Lunar v. Akisa Surta :: The Astronauts knew they needed to better the performance of at least one of the teams above them in order to return to the Stellar Division but left it late before finally putting home the games only goal in the 75th minute, recording a 1-0 victory and the three points they needed to be relavent in the promotion picture.

Lonngeylin City v. Lopinka :: Knowing that all they had to do for promotion was equal the result of Eastal Lunar, Lonngeylin City got off to a fast start taking a 1-0 with them into the half at the Lopinka National Stadium. The rovers, in a battle against relegation, would be saved only by Cedniavella's own 0-2 defeat as Lonngeylin City added a second goal 20 minutes from time to confirm their promotion back to the top flight.

Turoki Isle v. Rammsissill :: Turoki Isle controlled their own destiny going into the final matchday. Having finished in the third position in the Declasse three times since being relegated from the top flight during Season 34, fans of the Islanders were ready to see their team back in the top flight. However, it was just not meant to be as the Islanders were held to a goalless draw at the Sissil Bank Stadium, giving the title to Lonngeylin City and letting Eastal Lunar sneak into the promotion places as well, leaving the Islanders in third position for the second consecutive campaign.

(N) = Non-League Clubs that have Advanced to the Pods from a Preliminary Stage

Vilitan Cup Round 2:
Six Non-League sides were drawn against league opposition - including former Non-League heroes Cedniavella Turori who represented the League clubs for the first time in their history.

Now, for the first time in their history, Cedniavella were the recepients of an upset defeat in the Cup, falling 1-0 to Corra Rangers. Vilisorma AFC were the only other non-league club to earn a place in the Round of 16, defeating Lonngeylin City of the Declasse.

Vilitan Cup Round of 16:

Things got interesting quickly as Strike FC were eliminated in the Round of 16 for the second consecutive season leaving the field wide open for an unexpected champion. Non-League side Corra Rangers advanced to the Quarter Finals for the second time in club history (Season 18) with a 1-0 vcitory over Tivali City to become the last Non-League club remaining in the competition.

Turoki United [VSD] 1 - 0 Jungle Strike FC [VSD]
Kiiarana City [VSD] 2 - 0 Lonngeylin Coast [VSD]
Makosile [VSD] 4 - 1 Turoki Isle [VDD]
Kionao Locals [VDD] 0 - 1 Jlinal Cove [VSD]
Tivali City [VDD] 0 - 1 Corra Rangers [NoN]
Marine Coast [VSD] 1 - 3 Cednia Beach [VDD]
Colonial Sile [VSD] 1 - 0 Rammsissil [VDD]
Vilisorma [NoN] 0 - 2 Turoki Tide [VSD]

Vilitan Cup Quarter-Finals: (Two Legs)

The dream came to an end at Corra Park as the Turoki Tide overpowered non-league heros the Corra Rangers by a 4-0 aggregate scoreline.

The Declasse also lost its final representative as Stellar Division high flyers Turoki United ended Kiiarana City's disappointing season with a 4-1 victory to set up a derby matchup in the Semi Finals at the Turoki Community Complex.

A star-studded Jlinal Cove side couldn't duplicate their performance from a season prior as a goalless draw over 180 minutes sent the match to penalty kicks where Makosile's club-hall-of-famer Atacir Tivalan stopped a pair of Jlinal kicks to send the Makos through to the Semi Finals.

Cednia Beach AFC would earn the right to be the lone Semi-Final participant without a Cup Title to their name as they advanced over Colonial Sile by virtue of the lone goal scored away from home at Colonial Field. Having long feared the Turorian curse would prevent them achieving Cup Glory, the four-time runners up will go into the semi-finals more confident after the pair of recent trophies earned in the Cup by fellow Turorian side Mliona-Lpaka.

Aggregate Scores:
Turoki Tide [VSD] 4 - 0 [NoN] Corra Rangers
Kiiarana City [VDD] 1 - 4 [VSD] Turoki United
Jlinal Cove [VSD] 0 - 0p [VSD] Makosile United
Cednia Beach [VSD] a1 - 1 [VsD] Colonial Sile

Vilitan Cup Semi-Finals: (Two Legs)

Makosile (VIL) v. Cednia Beach AFC (TUR)
A pair of goals from Retiso Buran at home gave Makosile a 2-0 lead after the first leg leaving Cednia Beach with it all to do in Turori if they would have a chance to break the curse. It seemed, however, that perhaps it was just a Cednia Beach specific curse all along as the Coconuts couldn't muster so much as a consolation goal as the Makos cruised through to their third-consecutive appearance in the Vilitan Cup Final

Turoki Tide (VIL) v. Turoki United (VIL)
The Turoki derby would play out as a pair of "home" and "away" matches at the Turoki Community Complex with the 'Tide being designated the home team for the first leg and United for the decisive second leg. Semantics aside, Turoki United made the park their home winning both matches by a 1-0 scoreline to return to the Cup Final in hopes of adding a second Cup Trophy to the club's name.

Aggregate Scores:
Makosile United [VSD] 2 - 0 Cednia Beach [VSD]
Turoki Tide [VSD] 0 - 2 Turoki United [VSD]

Vilitan Cup Final:

After failing to take advantage of the opportunity to steal the Stellar Division title from a slumping Strike FC, Vilitan sides Makosile United and Turoki United would have to settle for a one-off consolation battle for the Vilitan Cup.

Making their third consecutive appearance in the Cup Final, Makosile's international-heavy roster was always favored on paper to Turoki United who continued to punch above their weight relying on local talent and a cohesive team atmosphere led by goalkeeper Mumau Atla-Siioai instead.

Makosile's Xcnaio Bansoa had the first good chance of the match but the agile Atla-Siioai pushed aside the danger to keep the scores level in the early going. With both clubs headed to the UICA Competitions by virtue of their league position, it was pride and momentum on the line in Alikki-Corra.

After controlling the early play, things took a turn for the worst as far as Makosile were concerned in the 33rd minute as Kadi Molali's attempt to intercept a Turoki United cross ended up deflecting the ball past an unexpecting Atacir Tivalan, the own goal putting the Makos down undeservingly.

It was just the first thread in the unraveling however, as Retiso Buran was sent off in the 38th minute reducing Makosile down to 10 men before Turoki United added a second goal to take with them into the half.

Reduced in numbers, Makosile struggled to control play the way they needed to get back into it in front of a capacity crowd at the Tivali Ring Stadium and eventually Turoki United put the match out of reach converting for a third time, signalling permission for the traveling Makos supporters to start making their way towards the exits.

In the end, the full time whistle was just the start of the celebration for Turoki United, who were quickly able to forget the missed chances in the League as captain Mumau Atla-Siioai lifted the Vilitan Cup for the second time in club history while Makosile were left with no momentum heading into the International season.

Vilita (VIL) final site bids

Globe Cup: Tivali Ring Stadium, Alikki-Corra (87,000 Seated)

Turori (TUR) final site bids
Globe Cup: Eels Park, Eelandii (capacity 68,000)
The Eels Park arena in "Eelandii" - A purpose-created hybrid city located between the capital of Almintora and the center of sport in Cednia, was opened for the World Cup 63 Finals hosted in Turori as well as Aguazul. The Arena has since hosted matches during the 26th Di Bradini Cup and due to its moderate size is one of the most atmospheric venues in all of Turori. Turorian National Team matches not being held in Cednia are likely to be held at Eels Park instead of Almintora National Stadium in the future.

Series B Champions Cup: Kionao Minor Field, Kionao (capacity 88,000)
Kionao Locals would make 88,000 tickets available for the event, per their proposal, which includes the installation of a large video board for the match in the location where over 20,000 standing room only tickets are currently sold on matchdays. Other stadium improvements include a large pen where some Cocoabos will be on display to help raise awareness for the plight of the Cocoabo.

COPA DE CAMPEONES 24: OLD CITY STADIUM (72,000)
Image

It's about time Old City Stadium regained its place in the world. An ancient stadium with mystique woven into the very concrete of its structure, Antzinako Estadioa is the home of the two Iturributan giants - United and Sporting, bitter rivals, divided into East and West Ends. Week in and week out, teams from across the Free Republic pay a visit to the colossus of Old City district. Every Iturributan dreams of playing there - either for or against the two greats, but ideally with the black-and-white of the national team.

In yonder days, Old City Stadium and its tenants were the terror of the Astograthian First Division and beyond, hosting multiple Ides of March Cups, a Copa Rushmori semifinal, several matches as one of the key pillars of Baptism of Fire 45 and Cup of Harmony 48... and was in the spotlight as Iturributa United became, somehow, the first team representing Astograth to reach the Champions' Cup final. Since then it has held the third-place match of the 48th Baptism of Fire, held in Iturributa and Ossidiacqua, one edition of the Polarian Vennskap Shield and not a whole lot else internationally-speaking, besides the usual UICA fare with Sporting and United - a situation which stands to be mended. The Rushmori Copa de Campeones has seen major participation from Iturributan in recent years, and holding the final would be the perfect way of reminding the world what Old City is and was.

Look at that! Wingers scored a ludicrous amount of goals! Lumber let in a ludicrously low amount of goals! The Wingers passed Lumber on the very last matchday, winning over Northern Log while their northern opponents could only draw with Lywik! Northern Log goes from mediocre to slightly above average! And somehow managed to avoid a draw over twenty-two games, meaning their average performance benefited from a much higher multiplier in front of that 3! Nestingham drops several places despite getting one more point than last season! Harp Port and Upham simultaneously set record bad Primary League performances! Reedring utterly dominates Secondary League after surprise relegation! Excitement!

The Astograthian Football League: Season 658 Review
Sponsored by
Image
Preview

It's over! It's over! The 25th season of Astograthian football, brought to you by that Polarian airline there - if you didn't think it was all over, it is now!

First Division

And it was over a full three matchdays before it was all over. Urbizania Wanderers, with the most solid spine of any team in the league, became the third club to defend their First Division title, after Royal Rumiatzi and Ituraitz FC - and it was precisely they who rued their chances, when a Wanderers home win over the weak Basabe Old Boys and an Ituraitzi draw at East Railway put Atzeden Lusa's men beyond reach, nine points ahead of the Knights but with the head-to-head advantage as well. A deserved reward for the hard work of a season, though it was only from the midway point that they picked up steam, a 10-match winning streak lifting them to first place and beyond after a lazy start.

A tough blow for those losing out, for sure, but that it was over so early didn't mean it was all over of course. Heading into the final matchday, Astograth University had to defend their Globe Cup spot against a very plucky Gesterlake FC and Royal Rumiatzi its Champions' Cup spot against Echegoyan FC... with University and Rumiatzi playing each other at Arritzola. Meanwhile, at the the bottom three teams played a merry round of Relegation Roulette. Ultimately, Goren Echazarreta's solitary goal sent the Knights to the Champions' Cup, the AU out of Globe Cup contention following a 3-0 thumping of Gortz by Gesterlake; at the same hour, Gilamu Echegonkelhay inspired Urizaharra FC to a dramatic win against South Factory, condemning Royal Ibarbe and Royal Arexa to the Second Division.

Royal Rumiatzi were extremely pleased with the signings of Moses Luc Bjerregaard and Khamisi McCluey, but Ellis Elmsvikur's last season ended in bitterness as the title passed them by, the team settling into winning form too late into the party. Regardless, a season to be proud of, with memorable showings from those mentioned above and especially Goren Echazarreta, who pulled the team forward with a vision and drive not seen from an Iturributan in Astograth since the days of Estebe Bularte. Echegoyan FC, third-placed, were fairly regular throughout the entire season but were disappointing when it mattered most - against direct competitors Wanderers and Rumiatzi and against their traditional rivals Blue Mountain Range, losing one derby and ending the other in a meagre scoreless draw. Collectively the team played well, captain Koldobika Benitzaizin standing out in particular, but a lack of truly great individual brilliance left them adrift against their toughest opposition.

Ituraitz FC, for their part, were the most irregular of the Big Four, going through stints of brilliance and others of dreadfulness. A spectacular 6-3 away win over Urbizania Wanderers, for example - one of the most memorable moments of the season, with an Illich-Svitych hat-trick, red cards, everything - was followed by losses to Royal Arexa and Basabe Old Boys. Their chances were there but routinely squandered; Alec Vordeau and Cloudchaser's quick adaptation to the rigours of the First Division was celebrated, however, as was Illich-Svitych's lethal form in front of goal.

5th place was a surprise for everybody, with Astograth University again letting it slip at the last - but this time it wasn't Oyardo FC, but the outside bet of Gesterlake FC. This is the third time they make the Globe Cup, of course, but never have they finished this high up - largely thanks to the brilliant management of Louis Vaudrail, which includes the enlightened signings of Baladi Berhongaray and Andrew Watson, who proved essential in establishing a defense that could go toe-to-toe with the best forwards in the First Division. With Georges Allonts and Totakoxe Riarte scoring when it mattered, it was a deserved prize that which came to land at Castle Hill.

An exciting season, the first to feature 18 teams; more kicks, goals and matches than anyone could possibly keep track of! Urbizania Wanderers, under new manager Atzeden Lusa, have come away with their second First Division title after a display of dominance, taking the lead from Echegoyan FC and holding for the last 20 matchdays as those beneath ran out of breath trying to keep up. The title was comfortably secured one week from the end: with six points in play and a six-point difference, Ituraitz FC's loss at Oyardo FC on Saturday secured the trophy for Wanderers even though they lost to East Railway on Sunday.

Astograth University, for all their efforts at keeping a tight defense, were bereft of leadership going forward. Maistegi, Girard and Damían were brilliant at the back, but Guerrikaechebarria's absence proved notorious as the season wore on - Nate Parkinson was eventually improvised as a box-to-box or advanced midfielder, but if Adin remains in his post despite once again missing the Globe Cup spots, signing an adequate fulcrum for his formation will be the first order of business. It'll be almost ten years since their sole First Division win, and nobody at Arritzola wants to admit the AU aren't what they used to be.

Oyardo FC, Athletic Club Rumiatzi and Athletic Club Olarria put in adequate mid-table showings; none of them proved a serious threat for the Globe Cup aspirations of University and Gesterlake, nor was their play atrocious. It was, rather, consistently "alright". A good sign for Athletic Club Rumiatzi is that they've found the forward they've been looking for in Orkatz Kalaorra, whom with 20 goals tied for second highest top scorer with Iivari Kaitanen.

The table is deceptive in its positioning, but with only four points separating them East Railway, Gortz United, Ituraitz Victory, Blue Mountain Range and South Factory all flirted with relegation for long stretches of the season, easing up only towards the end when it became clear what four clubs were in the most dire situation. East Railway maintained their mid-table aspirations; Gortz failed to build upon their two successive seventh-place finishes, their midfield almost certainly facing major restructuring the coming off-season; Ituraitz Victory and Blue Mountain Range managed to pull themselves up from the perils of direct relegation threat, but BMR's manager Bizi Boutayre has, at long long last, been given the boot after yet another season of barely crossing the halfway line and suffering for it. South Factory, for all their efforts, remain atrocious in defense. As predicted.

Urizaharra FC can count themselves very lucky to be safe, what with playing South Factory at home when Royal Arexa had the mighty Echegoyan to take on and Royal Ibarbe paid a visit to Athletic Club Rumiatzi. Regardless, they had nerves of steel to pull ahead at Kaizubia and hold onto the result. Arexa, despite dominating last season's second-tier, utterly failed at transferring their goalscoring prowess to the top flight and came crashing down; Milian Erburu's days as their manager are sadly over. Royal Ibarbe, and especially Basabe Old Boys, made their lack of First Division experience patently obvious.

Second Division
Drama! Laughter! Heartbreak! Tragedy! This second division season had it all, shame few bother to follow it. Ximun Orieta FC led the table, drawn on points with Lermendia FC, till the very last matchday, when the city of Letzama conspired against the men of the Deathbowl. One of its clubs, Letzama FC, beat them at the mythical Deathbowl with an agonizing 4-3 scoreline, while the other Letzaman team, Izarloka FC, were handily defeated by Lermendia FC, thus dropping Ximun Orieta to second place. Second place... if Royal Association hadn't beaten Antiguoko FC, which they did... with an agonizing 4-3 scoreline.

In approximately 26 minutes, Ximun Orieta went from being champions to taking part in the promotion playoffs.

They lost the playoff final in extra time to Antiguoko FC.

And that's just how it goes.

Second Division B
We have one of these? Since when? Oh, always? And the results have been posted only since last season? That's silly.

Mauritza FC and Aizpiyeta FC duked it out all season, but it was ultimately the former who won out on head-to-head results – but only with some help from Dockyard Oaks FC, who handily defeated Aizpiyeta while Mauritza took a scoreless draw from Ezkutia. Hence, Mauritza win the third tier for the second time and deny the poor Aizpiyeta, relentlessly mocked as the go-to shit club, the only silverware they're ever likely to have.

Justice was done in the playoffs, at least, where Progress Athletic beat Bakartirla Buccaneers on penalties and progressed to the second tier despite finishing seventh in the table.

In the Round of 64, all 18 First Division sides and the 14 best-ranked Second Division clubs are seeded against the 24 third-tier and 8 lowest-ranked Second Division teams. The result is, inevitably, a massacre.

Or usually, at least. Massive kudos to Berlasko FC for beating Blue Mountain Range away, a feat that often escapes all but the best First Division. Similarly, both Tower Hill and Sporting Sagastia managed to take down First Division clubs on penalties - all of which is either a heartwarming sign of the indomitable spirit of minnows or that Astograthian football as a whole should be very worried.

It took extra-time - at Knight's Stadium - for Royal Rumiatzi to defeat fellow First Division side Urizaharra FC, but all eyes were on Ituraitz and Urbizania. Why? Because Ituraitz FC was just wrapping up a 10-2 aggregate walloping of the Second Division leaders, and Urbizania Wanderers just barely edged Echegoyan FC in an early clash of giants, Risko Kâí slipping the decisive goal past the reach of Morten Salo and Burni Gorrindo.

The competition narrows down and enters its more interesting stages - though the "interesting" bit had to wait this time around, as the draw proved less than inspiring. The closer-fought ties were hardly high-profile, though Athletic Club Rumiatzi put on quite the show against Royal Association, but University had little trouble with Gesterlake, Ituraitz FC tore Sporting Ibarguren a new one, Royal Rumiatzi comfortably dispatched a rowdy Oyardo FC and Urbizania Wanderers stepped all over the tiny Ichapeldun Mariners.

Now we're talking - and with all four second legs played at Rumiatzi, the capital was a buzzing cauldron of expectation and old rivalries. Izarloka FC pulled off a shock, first defeating South Factory at home in Letzama and then pulling a vital goal back at the Foundry, just enough to see the Second Division club through to an unexpected semifinal. Army United didn't have that sort of luck; the win at Gotorlekua only angered Athletic Rumiatzi and provoked a swift retaliation from the cross-city rivals. Meanwhile at Arritzola, Wanderers recovered from a defeat at Cherketzo Arena with a late goal from Federico Ferreyra, taking the tie to extra-time and eventually penalties; Polentzi Gayategi produced two brilliant saves that knocked out University, whose rivalry with Wanderers, steeped in the long-gone ages of the Capital Region Football League, was again rekindled. At Knights' Stadium, Alphonse Richelieu and Cloudchaser sealed a decisive win for Ituraitz FC following a 1-1 draw at the Sporting Ground that left all to play for, eliminating the current Royal Cup holders and any chances of a three-peat.

It's the final everyone wanted to see as soon as they saw the semifinal pairings. Wanderers had no difficulty snuffing out Izarloka's dreams, though Athletic Rumiatzi didn't make it easy for Ituraitz, a penalty converted by Eddie Barlow putting them in a tight spot that they nevertheless managed to drag out till the final whistle. They don't call Gotorlekua "the Fort" for just anything.

ROYAL CUP FINAL
@ Grand Duke's Stadium, Rumiatzi
Urbizania Wanderers 2-0 Ituraitz FC

Two possibilities. Either Ituraitz FC won their 6th Royal Cup - an impressive feat - and wrapped some bandages around an otherwise rather disappointing season by beating the newly re-crowned First Division champions on the last day of the Astograthian football season, or Urbizania Wanderers reached maturity by following Ituraitz and Royal Rumiatzi to become not just the third club to successfully defend their title, but the third club to win the Astograthian double.

Both sides were itching to go, the ones in dark green to cap off an incredible season, the ones in red to salvage their wounded pride. The latter weren't pushovers, but in truth Wanderers controlled the match from minute one to ninety. Two managers with very similar philosophies - that of a single strong central spine, with full-backs and wingers as the main unbalancing element - were pitted against each other. Both had terrific players at their disposal: Astograthian national team players, lauded First Division veterans, tough defenders, agile midfielders and deadly forwards. But only one had a five-time World Cup winner.

It would hardly be fair to say Laborious Hawk played the match of his life, but if he were human it probably would've been. He slipped the ball, and himself, efortlessly through the Ituraitz midfield and defense, carefully weaving a path occasionally too intricate for his own teammates to pick up on. With the veteran Falconian Edwardo Baez as the rock he rested on, with Farf starlet Risko Kâí and Yesopalithan legend Jane Vander Rox as the pincers around the Ituraitzi box, with Federico Ferreyra ready to beat the offside trap and Iivari Kaitanen prepared to blast any ball into the net with a single touch; Hawk was not alone, but he ran the show. With sixteen minutes gone he chipped it to Vander Rox, who side-stepped Collymore, touched it back to Hawk with a heel, over to Ferreyra and into the path of Kâí, striding into the box to fire past Logegaray. Ituraitz threatened to score against the run of play - Ikatz Alberro, Vadim Illich-Svitych and Alphonse Richelieu are never to be underestimated - but the second goal killed it off.

Baez pushed up, Hawk swapped places with Zajaczek (on for Vander Rox), Kâí dummied a run, out to Hawk and in with a cross for Kaitanen. The Mytanar met it suspended in the air, as if levitating. Yauregialzo wasn't expecting a jump like that, and touched the ground before Kaitanen despite jumping after him. Arizmande received the Royal Cup from Grand Duke Lastur and held it up for all to see; to see that last season's title was merely a taste. That the Champions' Cup yearns for a return to Urbizania.

Astograth (ASG) final site bids
CYGNUS CUP 26: GRAND DUKE'S STADIUM, RUMIATZI (90,000)
Image

In lieu of Royal Rumiatzi's triumphant win at the 25th Cygnus Cup, the FAF have gained a renewed interest in the competition and will submit for the organising committee's consideration Grand Duke's Stadium as final site for the 26th Cygnus Cup; with seating for 90 thousand people, the ground is by far the largest in all of Astograth. Making full use of its multipurpose pitch and track, the arena hosts a variety of sporting events throughout the year; as a rule the only football games to regularly take place at Grand Duke's are the Royal Cup final and promotion playoff finals at the very end of the season and the Astograthian national team's home matches, which is why simply being there can be a dream come true for Astograthian players.

Besides those matches already mentioned, Grand Duke's Stadium has also hosted the very first Ides of March Cup, contested annually by the league champions of Astograth and Polar Islandstates, the second Polarian Vennskap Shield, the final of the eighth Copa Rushmori, the third place matches of the 48th Cup of Harmony and the 45th & 48th Baptisms of Fire; the 23rd Copa de Campeones final won by Liria Prizren over Ituraitz FC, the 45th UICA Champions’ Cup final won by Turoki Tide against Raynor City United, and most importantly the World Cup 62 Final won by The Holy Empire over Bears Armed.

The stadium itself is very modern and fully equipped to stage any sporting tournament, with retractable stands that extend over the track, allowing for an increased capacity and closer view during events that don't require the use of the athletics track. For the Cygnus Cup final, the organisers promise the utmost security and ease of transit for all fans, cooperating with the local authorities to stage a truly memorable encounter. Commemorative plaques will be installed alongside those of the winners of the aforementioned matches and no expense will be spared in the ensuing fireworks celebration; the presence of Grand Duke Lastur himself, as a great fan of football, is all but certain as well.

GLOBE CUP 48: KNIGHTS' STADIUM, RUMIATZI (70,000)
Image

It's big, it's shiny, it offers prawn sandwiches at half-time; it's everything UICA needs to hold yet another Globe Cup final for the ages. It may forever live in the shadow of the grandiose Grand Duke's Stadium, but it features the best deluxe facilities in Astograth - which is sure to cater to the interests of the Aeropag committee as much as it does to Royal Rumiatzi, the club of the upper class and the gloryhunter in all of us. Being located in the capital of the nation, accessibility is optimal, and the authorities are fully disposed to collaborate in order to ensure yet another top-class sporting event in the city.

Knights' Stadium has previously held the seventh edition of the Ides of March Cup and multiple matches of the 45th and 53rd Baptisms of Fire, the 48th Cup of Harmony, the 8th Copa Rushmori and the 62nd World Cup.

SERIES B CHAMPIONS’ CUP 48: SILANES PARK, ECHEGOYAN (55,140)
Image

The FAF would like to submit Silanes Park in Echegoyan for the UICA's consideration as final venue for the Series B Champions' Cup and Youth Cup. The stadium, built to host World Cup 62, has previously bid to host the 42nd Globe Cup final, and memorably served as the site of a World Cup quarterfinal and two top-level encounters in the group stage (the Sylvanaes Queendom against the Archregimancy and later Bears Armed), as well as hosting multiple matches of the 53rd Baptism of Fire. Echegoyan FC are the ground's permanent tenants, so the stadium is no stranger to the fanfare of UICA competition either.

The structure itself is top-of-the-line, built to stringent international standards in order to adequately host football's flagship national team event. The main and rear stands are roofed, close to the pitch and house plentiful VIP boxes, while the very tall, steep ends remain affordable to the average fan without compromising security or atmosphere. The Echegoyani and Astograthian authorities, meanwhile, have committed to provide special transportation arrangements for visitors. Needless to say, commemorative plaques will be installed and the opening and closing ceremonies will spare no expense to make this the most special night of them all for the deserving winners.

Astograth (ASG) qualifiers
Champions’ Cup 51: Urbizania Wanderers, Royal Rumiatzi
Globe Cup 48: Echegoyan FC, Ituraitz FC, Gesterlake FC
Series B Champions’ Cup 48: Lermendia FC, Royal Association, Ximun Orieta FC

2023 GPL Review

Empire Invitational

The Rundown

Though 'the triumvirate' are still a force to be reckoned with in the GPL, this latest season showed that their dominance is never assured. Thanks to a dominant second half it was Reinheim Metro, who seems to have overcome their struggles from recent years, that pulled out the regular season title. They did so ahead of both Teva FC and FC Deska, who were two points behind, with Basin Plain several games back in seventh. Thanks to a stellar defense, which gave FC Deska their first real competition in years, the team went a solid 17-5-10; not the best ever for a winning team, but good enough for the title and Champions' Cup berth.

Many of the top teams, in fact, came from the traditional powers, though notable entries in the post-season qualification group were Union Holiday, who seems to have finally shut the door on whether or not they are a top power, and Woodward Townsmen, who have now qualified twice in as many years in the GPL.

The team that ultimately had to go was VfB Deska Sud, who closed out a stretch of several years in the GPL as the 'third team' from Deska. Compared to other relegated teams, they did not put on a terribly poor performance, but simply weren't good enough to stay. Latimere United, meanwhile, was placed in the playoff spot.

The Gordonopia Cup, starting after the season, was a slightly different story from the regular season as Deska once again showed that they are the undisputed lords of Gordonopian club fooball. After going 2-0-1 in their group, Deska put on a pair of 2-1 victories, one coming in extra time, to win their seventh post-season title. At this point, the norm seems to be that Deska has had a bad year if they don't add at least one honor to their trophy case, and after a stellar Champions' Cup runner-up finish, a fourth-place world ranking, and a win in the 'Empire Invitational', this season had as high of expectations as any other.

Fusba United, meanwhile, capped off their best season ever, only a few years after promotion back into the league. The team managed to make it all the way to the Cup Semi-Finals, where they ended up in third place. Though most did not have them pegged for a strong season, this could mark the beginning of a true shift towards relevance for the historic club.

In the Regional League's, many of the expected powerhouses won out, though several underdogs, like City of Steel, made it through to the Inter-League Cup. As expected, the third New Gordonopian power, Danmeir AF, handily controlled their league, suffering only two losses.

In the cup itself, though, it was a pair of former GPL clubs, both members of the inaugural season, who made it to the final. Both Munchen SV and the Kjeldor Knights have been absent for some time now, but they have slowly been building their way back up to the top level. Munchen won the match 3-1, taking VfB Deska Sud's spot automatically. For Kjeldor, the chance of promotion came down to a playoff with Latimere United, but ultimately the ticket to the world's second-ranked active league was not to be.

League Happenings
  • Several young signings from the recent Baptism of Fire made a big impact in their first year in the league, most notably Alitaban Serafino Dimaala on Fusba United, Patrick Kerr of Vaugania for Basin Plain, and perhaps best of all, Nathaniel Paredes on FC Deska, who won the Newcomer of the Year award. The latter recently nationalized as a Gordonopian following the collapse of his home country, Southwick, meaning that he may even be up for Gordonopian National Team consideration.
  • Jay Neuman won the Golden Glove. Is anyone surprised?
  • In a surprising turn of events, the GPL ended up as the world's de-facto second-ranked league despite dropping a spot in UICA's rankings to third. Though Misaktonic University barely edged out the GPL in UICA coefficient following several strong seasons, the University and Wight as a whole mysteriously announced the complete cessation of sporting activity and in fact all communication with the outside world.
  • With Gordonopia already eligible for a World Cup Hall of Fame slot, and possibly opening up a second after this cycle, many clubs and fans have started lobbying for their greats to be included. One of the highest on the list, seemingly to the chagrin of the GFA? Norm Bates. Mum's still the word on what happened to him.
  • Through another season, activists promoting greater female representation at the top level of sports have continued to press. The word from on high is that neither the GPL nor the GFA have any plans to change their current policies, though rumors have begun to circle of a serious drive to establish an independent women's league.

United Gordonopia (UGO) Final Site Bids
Series B Champions' Cup: Blake Memorial Field, Teva (Capacity 56,000)
Though Gordonopian Games has sponsored the SBCC for several seasons now, Gordonopia has yet to host that tournament's final. A perfect site for the illustrious match is Blake Memorial Field in Teva. Home to Iron Harbor SC, a GPL club, Blake Memorial is small for the Gordonopian top flight, but offers a great atmosphere thanks to noise-amplifying architecture. The stadium overlooks the picturesque Iron Harbor, and its location offers access to Teva's beautiful beaches, world-renowned nightlife, and iconic local cuisine.

The stadium is no stranger to hosting big events, having group stage matches in both the 51st and 53rd Baptisms of Fire, and the Gordonopia Football Federation is willing to give full backing to make sure that a final held there will succeed.

IT'S HERE

The world's most popular annual sports game is back and better than ever.

One of the biggest new additions of 'Century Mode', tying in with the 'Teams of the Century' announced over the last cycle. The mode includes an all-star roster of every included club pitted in a UICA-inspired competition. Take control the best in history and guide your favorite club to a new title.

Another major statement, though not a new addition, is that Gordonopian Games is actively re-affirming its status as a gaming company for gamers. While many publishers have resorted to including microtransactions, paid multiplayer, and 'season passes' to their titles, UICA 51 contains the full game whether bought used or new. Additional content and regular roster updates come free to anyone who purchased the title.

On the cover of this edition, we featured the most recent Series B winner, Franz Joseph Young Boys of Polar Islandstates.

As with all previous editions, all players listed on a Series B roster have been shipped a free copy of the game and a Titan game console with special edition markings. Once again, all SBCC teams will receive an additional 10% cut of profits on copies of the game sold in their home market, on top of any previous licensing fees.

UICA 51 is available for download through the Titan GConnect Marketplace or in physical form at any Titan retailer.

Gordonopian Games... Your Game, Your World

THE INAUGURAL SEASON
OF THE
CUSTODEMARE FOOTBALL LEAGUE

The Squadrons

Atletico Armada

Style: Atletico opts for a modern 4-1-4-1, with outside wingers trying to crawl their way through the defense and a midfield usually lauded for their fine passing skills. Despite their technical superiority, they tend to lose from time to time due to limited strength. Key player is de Cuellar, who would be called a number ten if it weren’t for the infiltrations of box-to-box Moncada.

The XI: Lopez --- Gomez, de Mendoza, de Segura, Mexia --- Flores de Valdes --- Toledo, Moncada, de Cuellar, de Oquendo --- Pimentel

Navy Blues FC

Style: Physically outstanding, the Navy Blues bring a more traditional 4-4-2 on the field where two large towers in attack, Seymour and Drake, determine the amount of goals scored. When under attack, they’re able to cast a double wall and play kick-and-rush as a form of art. Their supporters usually enjoy the working force and fine tackles displayed by the squad.

The XI: Frobisher --- Gibson, Clifford, Howard, Norris --- Monck, Chichester, Holmes, Hawkins --- Seymour, Drake

Vereniging OC

Style: Not afraid to choose for the way forward, Vereniging OC is noted by its 4-3-3 build around playmaker and tactical genius de Ruyter. His capacity to score and allow others to score is one of the most bright ones of the federation and he’s the linchpin of the team. Their ‘total football’ implicates that each player can move in for the shot, but this also weakens an already shaky defense.

The XI: Tromp --- van Galen, Wassenaer, Kievit, Hein --- de Bitter, Banckert, D. de Witt --- Crijnssen, de Ruyter, C. de Witt

Sporting Marinhos

Style: The Marinhos combine sharp defenders with technically impeccable midfielders. Whilst the back three are known as merciless killers, the ones in front of them bring of the most entertaining football in the federation. While the game circles around Pessanha and de Almeida, the attackers try to get in front of goal as much as possible. This tactic leads, surprisingly, often to defeat.

The XI: Cao --- Henrico, Cabral, Zarco --- de Silves, Pessanha, de Almeida, Alfonso --- Saldanha, Dias, Queiros

EF La Royale

Style: If there is one team in the league that is more prone to keep the nil on the board then others, it is probably EF La Royale. With a highly defensive style, combining five defenders with two defensive midfields, they seem to avoid all attack. The wing backs, however, can start a stinging counterattack and the forwards often manage to squeeze a goal in.

The XI: de Forbin --- Mursay, Bart, Tourville, Duquesne, Château-Renault --- Hoste, d’Estrées, Bougainville --- de Maillé-Brézé, Duguay-Trouin

Koge Boldklub

Style: The eternal underdog in their battles, Koge Boldklub opts to keep the organization tide and make the most of each opportunity. They do such in a 4-5-1 that is laid out on the field as a pyramid, with Adler and Fischer as dangerous attacking midfields. Fortunately, they can count on Gyldenlove in goal, so they are, contrary to Marina Nazionale, allowed to participate in the League.

The XI: Gyldenlove --- Andersen Bille, Wessel, Bjelke, Kaas --- Lovendal, Juel, Garde, Adler, Fischer --- Krummedige

Matchday 1

Atletico Armada 3–0 Vereniging OC
EF La Royale 1–0 Sporting Marinhos
Koge Boldklub 1–1 Navy Blues FC

The opening game of this season’s League was played on board of the Elcano and Atletico immediately reinforced its status as main favorite with a clear victory over Vereniging OC. De Oquendo marked twice. Also three points for La Royale, where de Maillé-Brézé finished off a counterattack from Mursay, while the Navy Blues must be disappointed with their start of the season. Only late in the game, they equaled an early opening goal by Juel.

Matchday 2

Vereniging OC 6–2 Navy Blues FC
Sporting Marinhos 1–0 Koge Boldklub
Atletico Armada 3–0 EF La Royale

What was as a moderate start before the first whistle became a disastrous opening for Navy Blues. An unseen 6-2 loss against Vereniging OC, with a magnificent de Ruyter and the very inspired de Witt brothers, starts a small crisis on board of the HMS. Atletico continues its winning streak against La Royale while a bullet from Dias through the Gyldenlove’s nets decided the third game.

Matchday 3

EF La Royale 2–1 Vereniging OC
Koge Boldklub 0–0 Atletico Armada
Navy Blues FC 2–1 Sporting Marinhos

While some already commenced to believe that Atletico Armada was on their way for an all-victory season, Koge Boldklub proved them wrong. With tight organization and a bit of help from the crossbar, they kept a point at home. Navy Blues grabbed their first victory of the season, with Drake playing liberated, whilst Château-Renault became the man of the match with a goal and an assisting pass against Vereniging OC.

Matchday 4

Vereniging OC 1–1 Sporting Marinhos
Atletico Armada 3–2 Navy Blues FC
EF La Royale 2–0 Koge Boldklub

The headliner of the year on board of the Elcano and its Atletico Armada who won, containing their first spot. In an exciting game with chances on both sides of the pitch, Frobisher released a catchable ball and Pimentel was quick to make use of said opportunity. In a dirty game, which saw both Queiros and Kievit send off, Vereniging and Marinhos kept the result at one each. EF La Royale continues its solid streak with a third victory out of four games…

Matchday 5

Koge Boldklub 1–3 Vereniging OC
Navy Blues FC 1–0 EF La Royale
Sporting Marinhos 1–3 Atletico Armada

With another victory, Atletico almost ensures the Globe Cup position. Los Marinhos had no answer to the opposing firepower, inspiring Dias to the words ‘if it goes on like this, we better join them’. On a nearby pitch, the Blues continue to shake of their initial issues. Seymour, marking twice, was unanimously named the match winner. In the meanwhile, Vereniging lifted itself back to third position with a solid victory over underdogs Koge Boldklub.

Matchday 6

Vereniging OC 3–5 Atletico Armada
Sporting Marinhos 0–1 EF La Royale
Navy Blues FC 1–0 Koge Boldklub

Spectacle on board of the Scheveningen! Although the home team was in front at half time with two scores against nil, the balance of the game altered substantially. Pimentel kept the OC central defenders occupied and allowed Moncada and de Cuellar to intervene time and time again, resulting in two goals of both. Another stingy win by La Royale, with a goal from Hoste while the Navy Blues came out victorious of a close game against Koge.

Matchday 7

Navy Blues FC 1–0 Vereniging OC
Koge Boldklub 1–3 Sporting Marinhos
EF La Royale 1–1 Atletico Armada

La Royale continues to amaze us all with another extraordinary performance against the Armada. An early opening goal by Bougainville was quickly countered by Toledo, but the winning goal remained void. This allows the Navy Blues to get back in the race for the second Globe Cup spot, although the level of gameplay hasn’t been impressing so far. Sporting Marinhos takes a second moment of glory of the year.

Matchday 8

Vereniging OC 1–0 EF La Royale
Atletico Armada 1–0 Koge Boldklub
Sporting Marinhos 2–3 Navy Blues FC

Atletico becomes Los Inbatidos! One header by de Mendoza was enough for the three points, but the score could have run a lot higher if Gyldenlove wasn’t in an astonishing form. Vereniging OC grabbed three important points in the battle for second place, while the Navy Blues result a twelve out of twelve after three Arsenal scores.

Matchday 9

Sporting Marinhos 2–2 Vereniging OC
Navy Blues FC 4–4 Atletico Armada
Koge Boldklub 1–0 EF La Royale

As always, the stadium was packed for the stride between the Blues and the Armada and the bystanders weren’t disappointed. Chances went both ways and it seemed for a moment that the Armada would walk the plank for the first time this season, but Pimentel and Moncada kept up their unbeaten record and ensured the title. In the meanwhile, La Royale appears to have lost its steam and Marinhos and Vereniging drew after an interesting game.

Matchday 10

Vereniging OC 3–3 Koge Boldklub
EF La Royale 1–1 Navy Blues FC
Atletico Armada 4–2 Sporting Marinhos

In a game with little purpose against their eternal rivals –although the relation rather goes the other way around-, Atletico Armada easily came out victorious, reinforcing their status as best team in the competition. As the other squads all tied, not a lot changed, resulting in the Trophy going to Atletico Armada, which will be joined in the Globe Cup by the Navy Blues.

Equestrian States (EQS) final site bids
Globe Cup 48: Elements Stadium, Ponyville (capacity 48,750)
Ponyville might not look like a commercial hub, but the city's traditional town-like architecture hides its true status. Pleasant is the best word to describe Ponyville and its citizens, and the seamless incorporation of modern technology and conveniences allows visitors to feel at ease when in town. Centrally-located between Canterlot, Everfree, Manehattan, and (to a degree) Cloudsdale, the city also serves as a transportation hub, thriving on the Equestrian States' booming tourism industry. Elements Stadium itself is named after the Elements of Harmony, the guiding principles of the majority faith of the nation: Harmonism. Visiting fans often enjoy the stadium's central position alongside the crystal-clear Mane River, not far from some of Ponyville's largest and nicest hotels, which have seen extensive use when Elements Stadium hosted the 43rd Globe Cup final between Liria Prizren and Raynor City United as well as numerous matches during the 57th Cup of Harmony. If chosen, Elements Stadium would become the third venue to host two Globe Cup finals, joining Obelisco Monumental and Tiger Whale Stadium.

Cygnus Cup 26: Royal Equestria Stadium, Canterlot (capacity 98,625)
Not far from the traditional home of the Equestrian States' government, Royal Equestria Stadium is one of the newest sports venues in the nation and can seat nearly 100,000 ponies with standing room for thousands more. Built to replace the aging Equestria Dome as the official home of the national teams, Royal Equestria Stadium is a reflection of the country, truly representing its traditions, natural beauty, and modernity. With a roof of magically-sculpted crystal, the stadium is awe-inspiring in its grandeur and has allowed the Equestrian States to show its most appealing side to the rest of the world. Royal Equestria Stadium has hosted a number of major events, including the 57th Cup of Harmony final, the 29th Di Bradini Cup final, the 21st World Cup of Hockey finals, and the annual United Cup final.

Crystal Empire (CRY) final site bids
Series B Champions' Cup 48 & Youth Cup 3: Imperial Arena, Crystopolis (capacity 69,740)
Located adjacent to the towering Crystal Palace, Imperial Arena was constructed shortly after the Crystal Empire reappeared to the north of Magical Equestria as a part of the nation's bid to host the Equestria Games. In the decade or so since the Games were held, many other sports competitions have taken place in the Empire's largest stadium and several prominent local hoofball clubs have also taken up residence, including Globe Cup 47 quarterfinalists Crystopolis City. A multipurpose indoor venue, Imperial Arena's main field is encircled by a track, somewhat limiting the seating of supporters, though additional accommodations will be added to reduce the distance separating the fans from the field. Additionally, it should be noted that pickaxes, hammers, chisels, and other tools brought into the Crystal Empire will be confiscated and checked upon entry to the nation as stealing chunks of the Empire's predominantly crystal architecture is generally frowned upon by the local authorities.

OOC: This incredibly incomplete edition of the United League is brought to you by the letter E... as in excuses. Anyways, I'll try to add some stuff to this through the morning, but I'm posting this now just in case. Also, this article I wrote a while ago should be considered part of my league post.
