The Eagle's Cup: Outrage Due To Flag Controversy, Felix Loses Debut Match
By: Steven Smith

As many of you Felixians know by now Felix has been invited to the very historic and prestigious Eagle's Cup a tournament made reactive after a long absence. And that's a huge honor but when some Felixian fans, journalists and players themselves representing the correct Felix we all noticed something wrong. In the pamphlets showing the groups Felix's flag wasn't a Free Felixian, instead it was the disgusting Corvidae flag. Most of the fans from Felix were terribly disturbed by this as the Corvidae flag is viewed as an insult especially considering the Free Felixian government did fund the NT's trip here in the first place. While we here at Radio Free Felix believe this was just a minor mistake we would like to receive an apology for being wrongly represented.

Now that is over with let's talk about our disappointing start to this tournament. In Group C we faced a Yttribia that many pundits thought would be an easy if not guaranteed win for Felix especially due to our new rank of 12th in the multiverse. Alas, football isn't a predictable sport as the national team (with some new faces) headed out looking lackluster and toothless. The Yttribians played a solid match and showed it when they were beating us 2-0 by halftime. But I will give our team some slack. Their minds aren't in this cup. Their minds are with their family and friends, worried sick that the brutal Corvidae government would harm them. So if any fans noticed that distraction or lack of drive it's because of that. Don't worry though, I am sure Ishikawa Haruka can find a way to channel that worried energy into something more productive and better.

The first half like I mentioned before was one with struggles on the Felixian side and Yttribia's Mizuyuki head coach, Shikinami Akane made a game plan to exploit that obvious struggle. So there was a lot of pressing from the Yttribian side, forcing us Felixians to pass the ball to quickly and eventually caused numerous mistakes with Felix paying the price for it with a goal conceded in the 19th minute with a goal by Henry Vilhjalmsson, the brother of the famous (and cult figure) Xavi Vilhjalmsson. But Yttribia wasn't done, they wanted this win and they scored another goal in the 32nd minute with another forced Felixian error and another goal by Henry but this time instead of a solo effort he received a great through ball from a promising Terra Rice. Half time score, 2-0 and a deserved one as one side dominated and the other faltered.

Second half was a half that changed at first but eventually went back to the same situation as the first half. Felix seemingly woke up and started to be productive again as they began to look for a response to those two goals and found one eventually at the 56th minute with a stunning goal by Chloe Álvarez after some great passing all around an finishing touch (assist) by Mikel Araboa. From there on it seemed Felix would tie it up and had many opportunities to do so but failed as an attack that had much promise either ended with the ball hitting the crossbar, getting blocked by the goalkeeper or worse, shutdown by the defense itself. After the 77th minute it seemed Felix gave up on tying and began to decline in their play. Ishikawa's experimental lineup (which will be shown along with their form rankings at the end) was not doing well.

Yttribia once again began to press adding pressure to the Felixian team and Felix at this point stood no chance against them. As the clock winded down it was clear Felix lost the match and when the referee blew the final whistle it confirmed that feeling. Felix lost 1-2. Next up for the Felixians is Schiavonia a team filling in for NEWI Cefn Druids as they somehow have a link to each other. Felix has to win here if they want to advance and it looks like Felix will have to show a new lineup (probably the established folks will start) in order to be effective. As for the victors, they go off to face world champion, The Holy Empire. Hopefully we can see Yttribia and The Holy Empire draw as both teams getting only a sole point would put us in a great position to get first still despite the shaky start. But remember that draw can also spell out our doom if we don't win as a loss from us and a draw with them would automatically eliminate us.

As promised we have the form sheet for the Felixian team, enjoy and be sure to send an email informing us what you thought of the match and/or how a specific player preformed.

Goalkeeper-
Marcela Guadarrama (6.0)
Defenders-

OOC: Wasn't entirely sure of your starting XI Turori, so apologies if some players you weren't expecting to start find themselves starting.

Gavin Hughes was a shrewd manager. He knew that Turori, a top 10 team, wouldn't be likely to drop points to Apox for a second time, especially on their turf, rather than in front of an Apoxian crowd, lifted due to the fact they were hosting the World Cup. The World Cup was over, an abject failure for Apox in every sense of the word, crashing out bottom of our group with a single point, having conceded 9 times. 9 times as a team which prides itself on it's good defense.

As a result, and with Hughes deciding to use an experimental Apoxian line-up to try and give some of the younger players more experience going into the Campionato, expectations weren't particularly high for this tournament. For the Campionato, that was another matter. For this, not even slightly. Therefore, Hughes had the luxury of what both he and the AFB regarded as six friendlies to try and get the team playing his football. Hell, barely any Apoxian fans had made the trip to Turori. Less than 2,000 from a group of supporters who usually liked to be out in force.

As the teams lined-up to start, ball placed on the centre spot, one of the "Manly Balls" used in the World Cup, Hughes felt a tingle of excitement run through him. It felt weird, not to be sitting in the seat next to the manager, currently occupied by Jorge Guardia, but here in the "big man ting" seat himself. He'd sat and watched Magnus Fjelden sit there many times, watching, enviously. And now it felt weird to be doing it himself.

Pulled from his reverie by the whistle, he sat back to watch the game start.

It didn't start very well, truth be told. Turori kicked off, and the ball was rolled back to Klaillal Tuirma, who booted it further up field. Liinai Zakazaka, managing to drag his old legs up the field quickly enough, beat the inexperienced Olim Shahzad to the ball, and passed it off to the arriving Matlya Eelador, who, faced with the prospect of the powerful Isner, passed the ball back to Zakazaka on the edge of the box. Shahzad, probably still nervous and eager not to make another mistake went in with an audacious sliding tackle, which missed the ball entirely and took out Zakazaka's legs. Stonewall penalty, and a yellow for Shahzad, who the ref judged not to have malicious intent in the tackle.

Zakazaka stepped up, confidently, to take the penalty. John Lockwood tried to make himself look bigger in goal. It didn't really help, Lockwood diving to the left, while the ball sailed into the left corner. 1-0 to Turori after 50 seconds, and Zakazaka had bagged himself another goal.

From the restart, Apox tried to shore things up by keeping possession, slow the game down, and a boring spell of 10 minutes followed which was largely the Apoxian defenders passing it around their own half, a solitary headed effort by Adnan Zozula which sailed over the bar, the result of a long-ball by a frustrated Ulrika Kinlasson. However, Turori were biding their time, and a mis-placed pass by Jesper Lee Coleman found Etamara Kulkkiia instead of the intended target of Wilfried Lidgley. Kulkkiia jumped easily round Lidgley's attempted tackle, the two knowing each other due to both playing in the LigAnaia, before advancing the ball up the pitch at speed. A quick 1-2 with Kigaoua Oalalka saw Kulkkiia receive the ball with only John Lockwood in goal left between him and a goal. He attempted to chip it up, but it didn't have enough height, allowing Lockwood to jump up and grab the ball. However, he landed awkwardly, and the ball slipped out of his hands, into the path of the oncoming Matlya Eelador, who had an open goal in front of him to score into, which he duly did, the score doubled with only 15 minutes played.

What was worse, Lockwood had twisted his ankle on falling, meaning he could barely stand, let alone play. Alan Eustathios was told to warm up, as Lockwood was stretchered off the pitch, and would play no further part in this game, with an even less experienced goalie on the pitch. There was almost a collective shudder around the ground, as the fans remembered the recently 5-1 humiliation of the team against The Royal Kingdom of Quebec, and prayed that the same wouldn't happen here.

It didn't though, as the team seemed to gain a greater degree of resolve, Olim Shahzad, at the start of the game looking like a nervous wreck, now becoming more and more assured, and several times stopping Liinai Zakazaka from engineering a break-away attack. Indeed, Apox even managed a good attempt on the goal, Alice Monteforth taking the ball out wide, before firing in a fizzing cross to Tolgus Tregajorran, which Ronji Miiastara was only just able to parry away for a corner.

However, half time came and there was still no change in the score, both teams trudging off for a rest and a crucial half time team talk. The fans trudged off for a pint and a pie, one half considerably happier than the other. However, the teams were soon back on the pitch, the fans in their seats, and the second half about to begin.

After losing the ball fairly early on, the game reverted to a similar state as before half time, with Apox defending most of the time, Turori the attacking force. Zakazaka came close in the 51st minute, Lerryn knocking the ball off the line in the nick of time. Inlite Makakio came close a couple of minutes later, this time the ball running wide of the left post, Eustathios totally beaten should it have gone in.

However, the next goal would come against the run of play, and from an already broken down attack. Monteforth, running down the wing again, crossed the ball into the centre, but the ball cannoned off Tarek Edgeli, marking Tregajorran at the time, flying down the pitch to Ulrika Kinlasson at the half way line. She dragged the ball around Kulkkiia before sending another long ball into the box. This time, Tregajorran managed to evade Edgeli, and found himself in space, with the ball heading towards him. He managed to control it as it came in, before flicking around and powering the ball into the top right corner, miles from Miiastara, to make the game interesting for a while, Tregajorran scoring his 32nd international goal, drawing him joint second with Chris Maarsden on the all time list, only Dravid Scott left ahead on 50 goals.

Only for a little while though, as Jack Lerryn brought down Makakio just inside the Apoxian half, resulting in a free-kick. As a couple of substitutions were made, Jack Moses on for the largely ineffective Wilfried Lidgley, and Cediici Tzatzos on for Oalalka, the Turorians were able to plan their next move. And so they did, with Klaillal Tuirma coming up to take the free-kick, powering it into the box, where Etamara Kulkkiia rose higher than the rest to head the ball across goal, past Alan Eustathios, to make the score 3-1.

There wasn't much time left at this point, and despite Adnan Zozula again coming close, this time after receiving the ball from Jack Moses on the edge of the area, he was unable to hit it past Miiastara, who made yet another good save to deny the skilled striker. A couple of minutes later, the whistle went and the remaining fans in the ground headed off, the prospect of Apox against New Montreal States in Apox next seeming a lot more winnable than this game.

Eelandii, Turori :: After leading the Turori Eel's back to the World Cup Quarter Finals for the first time in the modern era, Ematea Saenu knew that expectations would be high coming into the Eagle's Cup, one of the few tournaments that the independent entry of Turori has ever triumphed in.

What Ematea Saenu may not have expected, however, was an immediate rematch against Apox, the hosts of World Cup 69 and Turori's Group A opposition during the big event. The two sides met on Matchday 2 of the World Cup finals with the hosts looking to avoid relegation on home soil, while the Eels were looking to advance with a victory. In the end, the 1-1 draw didn't really help either team as Apox would crash out of the tournament at the group stage anyway, while the Eels dropped to the second place in the group standings eventually getting eliminated in the final 8.

With the venue flipped, Turori were looking to avoid suffering the same fate as the Apoxians did, with Eelandii playing host to the Quarter Final rounds of the Eagle's Cup, it was a bit of a preview of what teams could expect in the knockout round.

The match itself did not disappoint, particularly for the home fans as the Eels were up 2-0 after just 15 minutes. Ronji Miiastara opened in net for Turori, perhaps in his final competition with the Turori National Team. After Apox made the game close in the second half, Turori capitalized on a set play delivered by Klaillal Tuirma and finished by Etamara Kulkkiia to put the game beyond doubt and get the perfect start to the Eagle's Cup competition as the Eels kick off a 3-game homestand before hitting the road for the final 3 matchdays of group competition while things in Eelandii are finalized for Quarter Final action.

Estadio Cuscatlán, San Salvador, SJG :: During the match of SJG vs The Calanian Union.

Based on the experiences of a group of fans belonging to the radical sector called "Ultras SJG" in the game against The Calanian Union certainly tempers were running high because of the celebration of vespers independence day in SJG and for the reasons the recent war that involved the two countries on opposite sides, basically Communism vs Corvidae.

"Wooohoo on the eve of independence day baby!" screamed a fan who was visibly under the influence of alcohol.

"Now what we need is for the national team does not fail, this will be a perfect party!" another shouted, waving his flag fams San Jose Guayabal on high.

"This game will be good, now we have to go through the rings of security." Ernesto, the fan severely intoxicated by alcohol said.

"Ooh, these rings. Torture That's about the wait, but if we are to enter time" John, the fan who had the banner said.

After a long line to go through each of the three rings of security they had as the national police authorities due to the latent risk generated by the rivalry between the two nations, the fans just entered the popular sector at the time of the official events when both national anthems were sung.

"Here the national anthem of The Union Calanian be intoned, please we beg fans to stand and listen to patriotic notes due respect" was saying in a polite way the voice of the stadium.

The words of the voice of the stadium were literally ignored, those driven by fanaticism and hatred against that nation proceeded to carry out massive fans booed while throwing flares onto the pitch.

"And now the sacred National Anthem of San Jose Guayabal" said the voice of the stadium.

In an instinctive way, fans placed with great momentum right hand on his chest, took off their hats and waved flags while shouting in an exceptional way the anthem.

Applause and more applause, along with the traditional "Ole, ole, ole, ole, Guayabal, Guayabal" were heard all over the stadium, the fans were jumping for joy and hung in the spacer mesh removed their shirts and waved , as referee gave the kickoff.

Fans moved from side to side singing songs or insults to the players of the opposing team, little tolerance came from them. while SJG plays caused excitement and good vibes, the rival plays were reason of Boo and rejection.

The goal of SJG by Rodolfo Zelaya was literally a bomb of excitement for the fans, who screamed all power "Goal!" and insults against those of Calania.

"Wooooooooooo! Golazo, Let's go Guayabal." shouted John.

"Exactly," shouted Ernesto while throwing beer into the air.

The match was exciting and SJG led in the match. The game came after the second time in a calmer way uun little more analytical and therefore no longer SJG attacked with such emotion, in forty-seven minutes, in commemoration of the war in 2047, fans threw flares on the field game and performed songs against players of rival nation. An atmosphere of tense rivalry was what you lived but the game resumed after the incident.

SJG scored the last goal at the end and sparked euphoria of the fans. No doubt after the game, the insults against Calania raged like a storm, the joy of victory washed over the fans, who threw flares and entered the field after skipping the safety net in order to embrace players.

Many would say that they are crazy, but the truth is that they are passionate about the national team, conscious and consequent madness that grips the hearts of the fans and is a feeling that can not be stopped.

It hadn't been a good couple of weeks.

First, that defeat to West Angola. At the Farham, no less... ten years they'd gone unbeaten since a 1-0 defeat to Yesopalitha. It was a proud record to hold, and, hell, even the marketing department had been upset. They wanted to market the joint bid for the Campionato Esportiva 11 in a way that tied in with what would've been 11 years unbeaten. Until now. And nobody could say West Angola didn't deserve it. Outsiders before the match, they'd simply outclassed the Cormorants on the pitch. Cheney Bittencourt, given the chance to prove himself at last, had been... well. He'd been terrible. Catheline Harper, thriving in her post as captain no matter how briefly she was destined to hold it, managed a fantastic long goal, but by then it was 2-1 with ten minutes left; and no matter how hard the Cormorants pushed it was too late by then.
Bedistan made more sense on paper. But for christ's sake, Nephara were hardly a reckless, aggressive side. To concede four goals... all practically straight down the centre, the superior Bedistani skill showing all too easily. It wasn't a devastating loss, and everyone outside of the defence had a much better game than the one before, but... they'd not won yet. Nepharim were used to winning.

Auburn Bywater lit a cigarette.
She offered another to Franziska Rensenbrink, her successor as whip.
"I don't smoke."
"Really? And you're in this job?" Auburn snorted. "You'd best start, love. God knows how I'd cope otherwise."
Franziska bit her lip. "Why'd you ask for me?"
"Do you know why it's so rare that Nephara schedules friendlies, and that sort of thing?"
The whip shook her head.
"We're a competitive sort of group. Every match matters. Every match needs something riding on it. Hell, even the Liberty Cup... ! The Strongnesse Trophy! They're the closest thing we get to friendlies most cycles."
"But there's trophies riding on- ... oh. Right."
"Yeah. Right. Hell, first match we ever had... some pack of cunts with a ton of oil money decides to hold some 'invitational' tournament. In reality it was first-come, first-served. Went there before the Baptism of Fire, got cleaned out 4-0 by some mid-ranked nation... and hell, a centreback out for eight months with an ACL. Next one? After qualifying? Officially marked down as old Asger Stubbs' Testimonial, for fuck's sake."
Franziska scratched her head awkwardly. Normally she thrived in the situation of being the one in control, but... she wasn't really sure what Auburn was even saying anymore, let alone the point she was driving at. "... Was Asger Stubbs really that good to deserve a testimonial? I can't say I recognise the name, apart from his stint as coach of the Moths."
Auburn blinked, and paused for a few seconds. "Right. Right. You'd've been twelve, and hell, Stubbs was an old man by then. Thirty-eight. I can't say I know too much about him either, but he was a legend in the pre-UICA days, a fucking legend. Grew up with lads like him, Strongnesse, Maria Stout-"
"Isn't she a referee?"
"Thirty-five-year old rightback by the Baptism. Official record gives her seven WCC caps. Anyway, you take my point."
"... I'm not sure I do."
Auburn sighed, and took a long drag from the cigarette. "Right. So basically. What does this Cup mean to you?"
Franziska frowned. She'd done her research... "An old, prestigious trophy. Older than Nephara's been on the international radar, certainly. Only recently been resurrected."
"Right, right, enough history. How... 'friendly' would you say it is?"
"Well. It's hardly the most intensive competition. We've seen a lot of heavily-rotated sides, a lot of teams using the opportunity to try something new... high-prestige, low-stakes, perhaps?"
"Yeah, see. That's the thing. We're Nepharim. There's no such thing as low stakes. We can't put our souls into a fight until there's silverware on the line, and that means we can't afford to just change up and experiment and try something new, because nobody would allow it. And that means that these victories aren't exactly water off a duck's back, either. See, that competitive nature... it's given us a lot of success in the past, but it can also fuck us. ... Hell. That's one thing I'll give Brenecia."
Franziska was... more than a little surprised. Auburn Bywater had spent too much time living in Brenecia to be fond of it, or so Franziska had thought. "... Go on?"
"Right, so the entire Brenecian nation has as much talent as Hadrian Belfast's right thigh, but you got to give them credit, they know how to shake things up. Catherine Bardsley takes the hot seat, and God, she's a smart lass, but she schedules three friendlies off the bat. Oh, and that Liberty Cup thing against Nephara? That's a fourth, you're not telling me otherwise. Every side she chopped and changed the living fuck out of the squad, cut out the old, dying, mediocre Premiership veterans for new, exciting talent, and I think this is the key, she didn't use a substitution in a single one of them. Just let the game flow for ninety minutes." Auburn snorted. "Won two of those games and drew another. All good results. That's how they picked their final squad, that's how they honed their team chemistry, got off to a flying start to the qualifiers and nearly made it the whole damn way. They weren't afraid to think of more than the next bloody trophy, take a defeat in stride without panicking... for all our bloody pride, we're too short-sighted for that."
"So. Uh. What does this mean for us?"
"It means this. You might think this tournament is just a throwback to the past, a matter of prestige, but ultimately something we don't need to win. Something that might, even if things go tits up, go largely unnoticed. Something we could get away with losing. You might well think that." Auburn dropped the cigarette on the turf, and stubbed it out with a heel. "But I'll guarantee you this; there's twenty-three people in that dressing room that think different."

Calanian Union Trailing in Inaugural Football Tournament
A Squad in Turmoil and Fans up in Arms - Can The Union Salvage It's Football Pride? We Ask Farell Kiter

20th June 2191
by Harvey Harding

Neorudo, THE CALANIAN UNION---- The Eagle's Cup is very much under way, and the Calanian Union have currently played two games - one against San José Guayabal, and another against Royal Québec. The next match, against Legalese, is probably going to be our toughest one yet - so, do we at Ekitaldia think the Union has a chance of winning?

Simply put, not in the team's current state. The transfer of management from the IFA to the FMF has not gone well for most people involved, and a year on, the organisation still seems to be struggling to iron out its problems. The board seems more indecisive than ever, and the issues with collapsing Syndicatian teams and aspiring new ones mean that there is little time and resources to be spent on managing the national team. It's players are also aging, fast, and it seems that many are calling the Eagle's Cup among their last official international tournaments.

So, bad news at the FMF, but is there any hope? One man claims there is - Farrell Kiter, manager of Magnaeus City, popped over the Bekk to Ekitaldia to comment on the state of the organisation. He had this to say:

It's obviously a difficult time for Syndica-, I mean, Calanian football at the moment. With the looming collapse of the ex-Syndicatian contingent of the sport, the FMF seems to be scrambling around looking for some be-all and end-all solution to the issue of climate change! Obviously, with the takeover of a Mertian body, the focus is shifted to the northern half of the nation, and many of us here in the southern Union feel that that's simply not okay. We have years of history, of success, under our belts, and I don't want to see that taken away from us just because the Corvidae account to the IFA was shut down.

It's not just the managers of Syndicatian teams that are annoyed with the FMF - it's the players for the national team too, which is why I imagine you wanted to speak to me today. I can't speak for them, but it seems that they're not receiving the support that they need in order to perform as one of the best teams in the multiverse. You might say they don't need it, as they're all naturally gifted and playing for superstar foreign clubs, but I feel that half of the reason a team is good is because they have support not only from their staff, but also from their fans. The Calanian Union, currently, is recieving neither. Mertians aren't interested in the national team, as it's composed of mainly Syndicatian players. This makes no sense, as it wasn't even a decade ago these people thought of themselves as Syndicatians anyway. The Syndicatians don't want anything to do with the national team, as they feel it's been maimed by this terrible Mertian corporate organisation that doesn't have the [Syndicatian] team's best interests at heart. I feel it's just a mess, and one that could be sorted with either a devolution of powers, or a complete split. I personally don't want to see either of those things happen.

So, Kiter feels that the only solutions to the problems posed by the FMF takeover are bad ones, and that the organisation is possibly doomed to fail. He also echoes the sentiments of many Syndicatians, who were the main bulk of support for the team, but have now faded away. Away fans for the TCU-SJG game were at an all time low*, and the numbers don't look like they're going to recover for a while. Football isn't dead here in the Union, but it looks like it could go that way for the south unless someone steps in. We asked Kiter if he would be the one to do that:

Me? Hah, don't be ridiculous. I'm definitely not the saviour of Syndicatian football - the folks down in Fligsive hate me too much. I reckon someone could step in, however, to some sort of hypothetical new position within the FMF - maybe a 'Southern Liasion'? This could shift the focus to a more central position, and maybe divert some money from the building of new stadiums for teams like Herretik and '90 into providing some stadium repairs to those destroyed in the war. They could also brink back Bain to the national team, if they hadn't fired him for supposedly being a "sympathiser".

We also asked him if it was solely a political issue:

I wouldn't say it's all political - I feel that the emotions of the players could also be taken into account. Maybe they need to be taken into account. There are definitely a few that seem unhappy with the change of hands, and the Eagle's Cup looks to be the place they're getting all of that emotion out, in lacklustre performances against richer, more compassionate teams.

The Calanian Union plays Legalese this weekend at Protectorate Road, Tiberia. It has the potential to be an exciting match against a nation that is integrated into our footballing culture - but whether it will be or not rests on the hands (and feet, mainly feet), of the 23 men that will be playing for the nation.

*Not counting games where literally nobody turned up, as was the case with the RTB-TIS games back in WC69, and other examples during the rule of Corvidae.

The Eagle's Cup: Felix Bounces Back, Must Win Match Coming Up
By: Steven Smith

Felix got their first W against Group B punching bag, Schiavonia, as Felix get their crucial three points and now has a chance to top the group should they beat The Holy Empire and if Yttribia either loses, wins by a lesser amount or draws against Schiavonia. But even if we lose this match we still have three matchdays to recover but that won't do for the fans, we have to win the next match. But before we get to that let's go back to the game we just won. The starters were known Felixian starters and it seemed that idea of sticking with what we used before worked out brilliantly as Felix did a 180 in two matches. Instead of being dominated by the opposition we were the ones controlling the match. It was a great sight of football if you managed to watch it.

The first half began with a whistle and the ball rolled into the other side of the pitch as 23 year old forward Eduardo Parisi lead the way for the first attack and opportunity for Felix. It was the 1st minute when that solo run from the beginning of the match by Parisi lead to a powerful shot that was blocked by a surprised Schiavonian goalkeeper. And that theme of solo runs and/or great passing runs leading to shots would be the main sight in this match and yet it wasn't till the 20th minute of the first half that Felix finally got ahead with another fantastic strike by new fan favourite, Eduardo Parisi, broke the opposing goalkeeper's amazing run of blocking Felixian shots. The poor keeper couldn't do anything about that he just kicked the ball when Parisi began to celebrate.

As mentioned earlier though, Felix wasn't done yet and two other opportunities arose during the match. Once in the 26th and another as injury time started. The chance in the 26th minute was from a corner as Bernardino Florentino headed the ball right at the post causing the fans in go say, "ooooooooh" or "aaaaaaaah". And in that 45th +2 chance Maria Martell shot a wicked shot that was barely blocked by the opposing goalkeeper. It was half time and Felix was in the lead, 1-0.

The second half started and Felix was still on a roll as the attack began once again. The early pressure resulted in a Schiavonian mistake and another goal was conceded as halftime substitute, Andres de Colorado scored a fabulous header goal from a great cross by Gabriel Jenaro in the 50th minute. From that goal it seemed that Schiavonia finally woke up and a effort was made by this team to come back in the match. Chances in the 53rd, 55th, 60th and 62nd minutes tested Kiki Nuremberg but she managed to block all the shots, much to the frustration of the home fans. It seemed after that the game cooled down neither side making progress until the 80th minute where another Schiavonian frenzy resulted in disappointment as Kiki either blocked it or the ball hit the post. Final time score, 2-0.

So now Felix moves on from that strong showing to face world champions, The Holy Empire. A win here would give us a 6 point start to this 6 matchday group stage and would certainly improve the morale of the people of Felix as the Nationalist offensive is currently assaulting our forces at Indos. But before we leave here is the form sheet as always. Goodbye from Schiavonia until next time everyone.

Legalese 3-1 SJG, We told you.

As many of us know, SJG lost yesterday against Legalese in visitor status, a pretty bad game by the players of the national selection for the defense sector and poor attack that could not materialize clear opportunities goal.

The game began with SJG in ball control, undoubtedly the first part seemed to nacinal dream team, which managed to be placed in lead six minutes into the game with a header from Sean Fraser played, defeating Evan Swales, who for recently finished taking the ball from the goal. Just moved SJG time seemed disfigured and transformed into the stock shocks for the front of Legalese, insisted that in order to score a goal and not give up in court advantage.

Twenty-five minutes elapsed in the game, SJG had a very poor possession with the ball because Legalese had taken over the actions of the game quite quickly, a shot by SJG had enough to the goal, at least the effectiveness of selection was high compared to that of Legalese, who had made three shots on goal from Henry Hernandez but had not caused major problems for the defense.

The bitter night started and SJG got the equalizer or part of Quintus Oxboro thirty-nine minutes, a move quick counterattack and a series of dribbles of Oxboro culminated with an excellent goal if we are talking about the individual quality and quality in the definition.

The game ended and both sides were tied 1-1 through 45 minutes, FRONT, anything could happen due to the insistence of Legalese or perhaps could react and could SJG scoring or at least unsettle their opponents.

The second half began with some resistance from SJG, who refused to give up to the constant pressure from Legalese and strong offensive, which began to gain ground against the fragility that was showing again the defense SJG.

Legalese stood at the front with a goal from freekick Cyrus Damhan sixty minutes, after which Bregoo Leonidas was admonished by a severe sweep of Oxboro on. The fans got euphoric Numalia celebrating their national team win.

SJG time progressed and receded with the ball, a percentage of 34% was mediocre considering its standards for SJG attack while Legalese would not stop attacking, then dominated with 66% of possession and twelve shots on goal.

To top off the bad night of SJG in Numalia, Eudav Kaszinski used his height in a corner and beat with a great comfort to Henry Hernandez, who came to make a failed attempt at a clearance, which cost Kaszinski able to make and take to score the 3-1 Legalese ending that is placed in the first group, while SJG is second with three points. The next game will be against The Royal Kingdom of Quebec, a team known for our part in what will be a very promising game back in Rostov, SJG.

Other news that other persons read after this article:

- SJG seeks to increase his presence across Esportiva in geopolitical tems.
- Politburo: The process of "integration" of other territories to SJG shows our power in the region.
- Senator Narvaez: "The motion to change the anthem should be taken to Referendum".
- Paymina and Rossana are now "Official" territories of SJG according to international laws.
- Economical "boom" will increase in the fourth period of 2047.

Gavin Hughes sat in his office, in the Apox National Football Center, just outside Dwile, having had a couple of days to go over the draw against New Montreal States, at home. It was definitely the team's best chance to pick up points from this ludicrously tough group, but unfortunately, things hadn't quite gone to plan. Jorge Guardia sat opposite him, the two enjoying a drink as they watched over a series of highlights from the game that the media team had assembled. If it all looked good enough, they'd watch it over with the team later on.

It showed Alan Eustathios' early save against Joe, the Apoxian goalkeeper diving well to his right to deny a definite goal.

"Good save, tha' was," drawled the stocky assistant manager, taking another swig of his beer. Gavin merely nodded as he kept on watching.

The first goal of the match, a scorcher from Phil Kimberly, was shown, with the coverage of Isner's defensive error being given paticular prominence,

"Bit harsh on Isner, aint it?"

"Well, a little. He went in too hard though"

"Aye"

The video played on, to Wilfried Lidgley's yellow card in the 20th minute, a result of him pulling John Gordon Larchmont-Louvrier down to the ground, needlessly.

"Didn't need to do that at all."

"Fucking stupid."

"Bet you never did that Jorge." Jorge simply grinned and they both chuckled.

Next up was Adnan Zozula's peach of a goal in the 34th minute, the result of a clever series of passes, ultimately ending in Wilfried Lidgley squeezing the ball through a gap that definitely looked too small to set up Zozula perfectly.

"Bloody well timed run tha' was."

"Indeed, that assist was ridiculous. Bst not give it too much credit though, they're both the type of players who we want to keep their egos in check"

"Aye."

Tolgus Tregajorran just missing an open goal, sliding it wide was next.

"God, it looks even worse from this angle"

"What was he thinking?"

"Not about scoring clearly"

"Not even slightly"

"Jesus"

"No wonder the crowd were pissed"

The highlights from the second half were next, and Apox were playing much more positively with the introduction of Luxulya St Cleer into midfield, for her debut. Shown is her nearly setting up Adnan Zozula for a tricky shot, which ends up rebounding off the post and out of play.

"Was a good shot that"

"Good vision by St Cleer, I see what they meant by saying there was shades of Sindelar in her."

"God, he was a tough player to handle. Got the better of me several times."

"Aye, well, he wasn't captain for nothing."

Next up is Isner's first international goal, coming about from a corner taken by Alice Monteforth, Isner jumping higher than the rest to head it home.

"I'm bloody surprised he reached that if I'm honest. Short lad."

"Well, they usually end up jumping higher to try and make up for it."

"Gav, that made literally no sense..."

"Hmm, yeah, I guess you're right."

"Lol"

"Say 'lol' in my presence again and I'll have you fired." Another set of chuckles.

Then comes the equaliser from New Montreal States, right in the dying moments, this time coming from the wonderfully named substitute Duncan Boiler, who hit a superb volley into the top right corner.

"Bollocks. Just look at our faces on the sideline. Hahaha."

"We look fucking gutted"

"And rightly so. Nothing anyone could've really done about that"

"One of them fucking wondergoals. Always hated 'em"

"Indeed. Right, that's probably it. Team meeting is at 4:30 in the squad room, though you know that already"

"Aye. See you then."

OOC: First part of what looks to be extremely long RP series spanning this Eagles Cup, World Bowl, World Junior Hockey Championships and World Cup of Hockey. As you can clearly see, this is my version of Love Actually, a 2003 British Romantic Comedy Film IRL, that I enjoyed watching a while ago. There'll be some similarities to the film, but for large part content will be different.

Love Actually
It's all about love, and its journeys

[Scene #1]: Arrivals Gate at Montreal Sir.Charles Merton Regimbault International Airport. It's extremely packed, of people in different ethnicity and age groups. First, in a medium shot, 2 30-year olds are shown kissing each other in a warm embrace. Then it moves to several sequences of lovers kissing each other, parents hugging their children and friends doing one of the aforementioned in several different sequences provided.

Prime Minister: Whenever I get gloomy with the state of this Multiverse, I think about the arrivals gate at Dorval Airport. In general it is argued that we all live in the world of hatred and greed, surrounded by the weak and broken hearts, but I don't see that. It seems to me that the love is there, wherever you go and whatever you do. Sometimes it's in the eyes of the very lovers on the streets of El Roblar, innocent teenagers in Nyhavn Harbour, or even the grins and smiles of children while playing with their parents in a park just down the Abbotsford Park. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy but it's always there. We all know that none of the messages sent to their loved ones, by those who were on the doomed Aeroquebec Flight 69 to its inevitable tragedy were of hatred and regrets. They were of love.
If you go look for it out there, I've got this feeling, you'll find that love actually is everywhere you go.

[Scene #2]: A hotel pool. Designed in Two Guayabalense men in their thirties, Michael and Troy, enters the room through the door from male change room. Michael is a tall, 26-year old man with extremely large physical stature, while 25-year old Troy is the very opposite, being a lightweight midget. Former wears an all-out Alianza home kit, while the latter dons the same, except for Condor-Valladares FC.
They all speak in Spanish, with the subtitles to be provided in the screen later. Michael looks extremely happy after his soccer team, Alianza F.C., winning the league, while Troy's pissed that Condor-Valladares FC, his favourite, failed short of it.

Michael: So happy that we won tonight. Woo! (shouts) Alianza, Alianza, Alianza!
Troy: Oh, shut up. (mutters some illegible words)

Then they separate into two, with Michael staying in his end of the pool, while Troy walks to the other end. Then there's a change of shots, as it now focuses on Michael cleaning up the pool. He is doing the work very slowly, whistling the tune of Alianza's anthem as he cleans up some stuff left over by previous group of swimmers. After 10 seconds there is something heard from the distance.

Troy: (shouts from the distance) Ew! What's that?
Michael: What is it, Troy?
Troy: C'm over here!

Michael immediately turns around and runs to Troy, who's standing in the opposite end of the pool. Once there the shot is directed towards Michael and Troy, before turning around to the water. There is one-metre long red snake, long dead, lying on the top of the water.

Troy: Is that...a red snake?
Michael: I think so....

By this point they are both scared, which is very much evident on their tone of voice, as well as some form of liquids and goosebumps running down their skin. They start to speak lot faster, as they throw their equipment into the snake and take it out of the pool.

[Scene 3]: Petr's apartment suite. It only shows the living room and balcony, the latter of which is closed due to the high and clear accumulation of snow outside the window. In the room there's 2 couches, one big and one small, as well as a medium-sized television and a piano right next to it. The lights are dim, with some shades in a couple of corners. Petr, a 34-year old father, is seen sitting in his couch. With no one else in the room, he feels very lonely and sad, after personal tragedy that happened to him earlier on.
Needing someone to talk to him, Petr picks up the phone and calls someone.

Petr: Hey, Steph, it's me again. Sorry for calling you right now, it's just that It's 8 and I have nobody to talk to but Vaclav.

[Scene 4]: Stephanie's house. There is a combination of a living room and a dining room in the shape of a capital L. It is quite narrow, with two long, hazel sofas at the very centre of it, facing the television. The floor is paved with green flowered bricks and the wall is paved with white flowered bricks. Right next to the left sofa, there is a black glass coffee table with a vase of fresh flowers on top of it. Stephanie is seen sitting at the sofa, with her son, Kevin, right next to her as she receives the call.

Stephanie: (Into phone) I know, except that you called me literally at the wrong time though. Care to call back later? You know that I'm still terribly concerned of Irma's passing from this earth.

[Scene 3.1]: Petr's apartment suite.

Petr: (Into phone) Sure, sounds good by me. I'll call you in 30 minutes.

[Scene 4.1]: Stephanie's house.

Stephanie hangs up her phone and turns to her son. Kevin is a 9-year old boy, who looks much older than his actual age due to his size and height. He has this spiky, blonde hair that strikes out among anyone that one can see of.

Stephanie: So what's this great news, honey?
Kevin: We've been given our parts for Petyr Orchestra and I'm the bassist.
Stephanie: Double Bassist?
Kevin: Yup.
Stephanie: In the actual musical?
Kevin: Mhm. First out of the three. Steve and Yeon Tae are the other two in it.
Stephanie: Woo! Great job, honey....Let's get something for dinner now, shall we?

Unbeaten Jungle Cats off to Slow Start

Vilita held by Bedistan, West Angola

It was an historical evening in Yuba at Alesanka Park, home to Yuba United, one of the most successful domestic clubs in the history of the multiverse. Only the playbill for the evening was a bit different than the usual. This time, the home team wouldn't be Yuba alone but a collective team of players from the clubs of the Bedistan Football Association. Effectively, on this night, Alesanka Park was home not just for Yuba United, but home of the Bedistani National Team.

In fact, only one Yuba United player was in Paraskevi Dimitriou's starting lineup, midfielder Grace Rodriguez.

The Jungle Cats stepped on the pitch wearing their change white kits and Blue shorts so as to not clash with the home side's Green and Blue design, although the industrial green add-ons and numbering on the Bedistani kit's would certainly been enough to distinguish them even if Vilita had sported otherwise identical attire.

There was a special treat on hand as the Eagle's Cup IV trophy was at the stadium and symbolized the fact that, although it was a long time ago, Bedistan were indeed the reigning champions of the competition. Despite the long absence from International Football as well, the players in Blue and Green picked up right where their predecessors had left off when Roque Munguia played an inch-perfect ball to Joppe de Wild who finished cooly to give the home side the early lead, stunning the World Cup 68 champion Jungle Cats.

Vilita would respond, however, with Kristofer Kilpter, one of a score of Vilitan players who likely saw this Eagle's Cup as their final true International Competition, fired a rocket of a shot from just outside the 18 yeard box, a great individual effort that rang off the inside of the post beyond the reach of James Barry and nestled into the back of the net.

It was a fitting start to the competition and it was truly game on at that point, the Bedistani players certainly bringing an element of surprise to the table as there was no scouting film, no game tapes, no reports to analyze. Paraskevi Dimitriou's side were truly an unknown entity gelling together on the field while the experienced... perhaps aged bodies of many of the Jungle Cat veterans sometimes struggled to keep up on a play-to-play basis.

Its not all about raw speed and quick feet, however, and the Jungle Cats maintained good ball possession with minimal movement compared to their counterparts. Of course, raw speed can't be discounted, however, as proven by young Tropicorp FC prospect Ikala Mravedii in the 24th minute. Mravedii constantly pressured Carter FC's Polidora Renteria and eventually forced the Bedistan defender into a mistake, stealing the ball and racing in to slot past Barry to put Vilita up 2-1.

It was certainly a proud moment for Mravedii, not only to score on their international debut but also to silence the critics who lamented Nycflala Kater's decision to 'succumb' to the pressure of the ever-growing entity that is Tropicorp by calling some of the Calanian club's youth players in for a shot of experience at the Eagle's Cup.

Kater gave the critics something new to focus on in the second half of the match, surprisingly putting himself into the game, not as a Goalkeeper as he would have been expected to do at some point, but as a midfielder in place of Jomur Hulyer who closed in on his all-time record 200th Cap for Vilita.

Kater wasn't a bad look in the midfield, surprisingly, and it was obvious that he had been practicing his field play during training sessions in his new role as head coach for the Vilita National Team. However, Kater was on the pitch in the 83rd minute when Bedistan substitute Gim Ĭn-hûn scored a sloppy equalizer, capitalizing on a mis-hit clearance from Kadi Molali. The home crowd fan was delighted to see the goal from a home-club player but the atmosphere got tense to see if the team that the Bedistan Football Association could truly compete at the International Level.

As the final whistle came, the 2-2 scoreline held and the Jungle Cats left Bedistan with only a point to show in a match that will likely be remembered more for its historical element than for the importance of its result in the Eagle's Cup.

The Jungle Cats returned home to Yeaddin where they looked to get 3 points against a West Angola side they were unfamiliar with in International Competition. Young goalkeeper Kalek Intafel got the start for the Jungle Cats while former Strike FC attacking duo Viji-mara Lawaai and Yves Gadois partnered together 'just like old times' - with a surprising new face, Berali Tzufarei joining them in a three-pronged attack.

Tzufarei was making his first career start for the Jungle Cats after coming on as a sub on the opening matchday in Bedistan.

In fact, all three Tropicorp Trainees made their way into the starting lineup with the starlet of the opening game, Ikala Mravedii retaining their place in midfield and young defender Monner Vileai starting at the back.

Unfortunately, this Jungle Cat side was not as exciting or productive as the side that was on the pitch in Bedistan, as Vilita were outplayed for long stretched of the first half and were down 0-1 at the break.

Nycflala Kater looked to add more attacking threats introducing Lita Adjei in place of the not-as-impressive Mravedii but it was Riksa Valjariia that saved the home-side in the late moments of the match, equalizing in the 88th minute with what was just the 2nd shot on goal for the lacklustre Vilita squad that will certainly have some work to do as they move on to face Nephara on matchday 3.

The world champions. World Champions. And the funny part was that we got drawn to play against them. Well what do ya know about that? You have a twenty-one year old manager, who according to the local press, is a total nobody from the nation of Mizuyuki. How excellent is that? Not to mention, most of the players on the team haven't gotten used to Shikinami's system, so even though they try to play with two defensive mids, it really doesn't work out well. Not to mention her hot head temper, which flared on the sideline against Felix. She's caught the attention of the nation, and there's no idea what she'll do next. Not to mention the fact that the squad isn't that fond of Shikinami, so add that up and baby: you've got a stew brewing.

The extremely nerve-wrecking part was that not only were we playing the World Champions, we were playing them at home. Add the fact that this wasn't the true national team, just another team used for the purpose for international competition, there was almost no way that we could beat them, let alone draw. And somehow, that's what we did. We drew against the World Champions. And we had three players who weren't even professional footballers be on the same pitch as the World Champions. And now, one of those players can say that he scored against them. Imagine what that kid's gonna be telling his friends, his significant other, his children, his grandchildren, imagine that. The biggest moment of Ibrox Nye-Ibbot's life. Just a few months ago, he had to ask permission to use the lavatory, now he's scoring goals on elite squads. He'll never forget that moment. Being subbed in during the sixty-eighth minute, he scored off of a corner kick from his teammate Johnie Anson in the seventy-fifth minute. Ibrox was in the right place at the right time. Pure euphoria was visible on that young boy's face.

That somehow topped off a comeback "for the ages" after being down 3-1 in the sixtieth minute. Henry Vilhjalmsson and Oli Gross were the other two goal scorers for the match, but they were just considered extras in Ibrox's moment. I mean, sure he was delighted for them, but he had made his mark on Yttribian football and its growing history. And he's hoping to make a larger mark for future generations to come.

Hosts Note: This is the half-way point of the group stage. There will be an extended one-day break (IE: No scores tomorrow), and scorination will resume Tuesday. Obviously, with 3 games in the books, and 3 more to play, no one is even close to elimination at this point - as every result, positive or negative, in the first 3 games can still very easily be undone in the reverse fixtures. If that changes, I will make note of it when posting the tables.

[Scene 5]: A young man is delivering foodstuffs around the office. Devane, a pale-haired, awkwardly attractive 23-year old boy working in his family business, looks very busy and unco-ordinated carrying them in his basketcase. Despite that, he continues to smile, trying to be as happy as possible with his life, but it's executed as if he's being a Casanova.

Devane: Best Bento Meals in Multiverse. Care to try my lovely nuts?

He hands a woman in her 40s some nuts in addition to a huge, mahogany wood case for Bento box case, before walking to the old boss, whose grey hair and extremely long beard of the same colour indicating his age. The old boss, knowing the man, looks extremely happy that Devane's here to give him what he wants.

Devane: Firewhiskey for Mr. Monday.

He hands a man a light, uniquely-shaped bottle of firewhiskey, then turns to Arlene. Arlene's 26-year old, most recent recruit into the department with flowing hair and tight miniskirts, is sitting at an office taking a little bit of break when they meet.

Devane: (winks at Arlene) Bonjour, mon bebe.

Arlene ignores him and gets up and goes to the tea room right in some distance. Devane turns, smiles and leaves like nothing happened to him.

[Scene 6]: Front of the 21 Tyrie Street. Prime Minister's car, custom-made 2009 Rolls Royce used for all the prime ministers since its delivery, pulls up. There is a crowd of people gathered outside the gates to welcome him home. PRIME MINISTER, aging, handsome 45-year old man with light brown hair and tailored black suit, gets out of the door waves gently at them.

Crowd: (shouts in various languages) Prime Minister, over here!
Prime Minster: Thank you, thank you.

After 2 seconds of him walking along the lightly lit halls of the In the script, there's an ancient, well-furnaced living room. In the space there's already Dannick, his secretary, as well as five members of the housekeeping staff. His dialogues is written in English, but words should be said in a mix of French and Korean. In this case, he's speaking in French.

Dannick: Good morning, Prime Minister.
Prime Minister: Oh why, hello? The weather out there's beautiful.
Dannick: How are you? How are you feeling?
Prime Minister: Uh.....Slightly awkward. Pretty cool but not used to it I guess.

Dannick: Would you like to meet your household staff? We've had a little bit of change since last time, but large number of us are still here.
Prime Minister: (smiles at Dannick) I'd love to, thank you very much. Anything to put off the burden of the actual profession would do me a favour.

Dannick: (Introduces a 25-year old, fairly old looking man right next to him) This is Seung Hyeon. He's in charge.
Seung Hyeon: (speaks in Korean, while offering his hand) Good morning, sir. Seung Hyeon Han, it's an honour to meet you.
Prime Minister: (speaks in Korean, before shaking hands with Seung Hyeon) Thank you, sir. Same to you as well.

Dannick: (Introduces a man in late 30s right standing next to Seung Hyeon and Samantha) Here's Alexandre.
Prime Minister: An honour to meet you, Alexandre.
Alex: Same here, sir. Just call me Alex. I'm your housekeeper for hopefully your entire time in this maison.
Prime Minister: (shakes hands with Alexandre as well) I should be easier than your last lot. No babies, no annoying teenager bringing her kids over, and then no dogs to irritate or create allergies out of.

Dannick: (Introduces a girl around Seung Hyeon's age, of caucasian descent and brown hair) Then here's Samantha. She's new to this place, just like you.

Prime Minister: Hello, Samantha.
Samantha: Hello, Eric, I meant, Sir, s***. I can't believe I've said that here (Prime Minister, who'll now be referred as Eric, laughs in a gracious manner). Now I've said s***. Twice. Sorry, sir.
Prime Minister: It's alright. Not like you're using f*ck, taber*ac, or anything like that, or else we could've been in some trouble :p
Samantha:Thank you, sir. I knew this would happen, that I'm gonna f*ck up on my first day. Oh, piss it!

Dannick: Hm, now I'll get my stuffs ready. Then, shall we do some work with this country?

Eric walks away and then turns to look back at Samantha.

Prime Minister: Yeah, I can't see why not.

[Scene 7]: A very anciently-looking community church in Hochelaga, Montreal. Being built in late 1850s, it has this historic and special vibe into the building. The shot first focuses at the couple, happy and joyous Hye Min and Emma,as well as the priest, before turning to the well-dressed group of friends and family members sitting in their seats.

Hye Min: (voiceover) No surprises prepared this time?
William: (voiceover) Nope.
Hye Min: (voiceover) Stag night was a mistake right?
William: (voiceover) Uh....Sure.

Then, just in time, the shot is being taken towards Hye Min and William in the full scene. The priest is standing right in front of them, as William and Emma are waiting for their final vows to be exchanged.

Hye Min: (gives him a light push with his right arm) You admit the prostitutes were a mistake?
William: As much as I am reluctant to say it, yes.
Priest: In the presence of God, Hye Min Jeong and Emma Davey have given their consent and made their marriage vows to each other. They've declared their marriage by the giving of rings. I therefore proclaim that they are husband and wife.
Hye Min: No surprises for sure, right?
William: Yeah, I'm mature now. And out of money as well. Bought a huge Deadly Diablo 1896 Magnum(OOC: ICly famous Darvalean brand of Vodka, with this one being vintage) for Claude's birthday.

Then, just as Emma and Hye Min turn to leave the church a curtain is drawn back from the terrace and the choir begins to sing in the second floor terrace, surrounding the church in an upper layer.

Choir: In a gadda da vida, honey, Don't you know that I'm lovin' you
Emma: (to Hye Min) Did you do this?
Hye Min: (shrugs, before looking back into the choir) No.

They quickly turn at William, who keeps on doing whatever he's been doing earlier. It's evident that he's doing his best to ignore them, seen through light drops of sweat on his face, neck and palms.

Choir- Sopranos and Basses: Oh, won't you come with me, And take my hand
Choir- Altos and Tenors: Oh, won't you come with me, And walk this land
William and the Choir: (Then altogether starts to dance) Please take my hand~~~~!

As the choir sings people scattered throughout the church stand up and begin to play their orchestral instruments. Everyone, especially the guests, looks very much surprised. Then, the shot focuses at those two as Seong Hyeok and Emma smiles at each other, before turning their attention towards William. William winks at them, revealing that it was he who pulled off this act.

CHAPS, FASCISTS, SECOND BANANAS AND YOU

A Paladins Fan's Guide To Group One of the Eagle's Cup

GOOSE STEP CITY, The "Free" "Republics" - With the Paladins having played a bunch of souless marionettes "representing" the ostensibly "Free" "Republics" - the most bloody, dehumanizing charade of a civilized state this side of Saintland - it's time to ask what, exactly, the 'States have gotten themselves into by accepting an invitation to the Eagles' Cup.

Fortunately, it's nothing as bad as their recent sojourn in the land of the "Free" and the home of the extrajudically murdered. With a 3-3 draw against Herr Theriault and his Fightin' Jackbooted Thugs, and a 2-2 draw against the exquisitely well-mannered Chaps of Apox under their belts.

THE "FREE" "REPUBLICS" (home game to be played on the back forty of an NMS army base, behind two fences topped with barbed wire and surrounded by land mines) - As decent hosts, we feel compelled to meet our guests halfway. Although we won't be taking political prisoners, a handful of local aldermen, school board members and other municipal politicans seeking re-elections have agreed to watch the game from the bleachers wearing shackles.

The Free Republics' team and supporters will have their persons and planes throughly checked for weapons on their way into the country. You never can tell what those fascist swine will do next.

APOX (home game to be played in a replica of the Archregimancy's replicas of the Melbourne Cricket Ground from WC24): Previous Apox-NMS games were noteworthy for the unbelievably refined conduct of the players. Last night's match was no exception, as both sides took the pitch wearing stovepipe hats and monocles. These dashing accessories miraculously stayed on the players throughout the entire match, although sounds of grunting and yells of "WHAT BLOODY BLIGHTER THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO USE SUPERGLUE?!?" were heard to emerge from the NMS locker room after the match.

TUORI - Perhaps the world's most famous colony, the Eels and the Paladins have a sporadic and indifferent history on the pitch. This will be the toughest match for the Paladins, especially on the road in Eelandii.

This will be a pair of perfectly ordinary football matches, albeit against a team that is much better than us.

Nicolas St Teath watched up field as another Apoxian attack fizzled out, this time Adnan Zozula was simply worked off the ball by the younger Miroslav Bozek. He looked over to Isner, aware that the ball could be heading back down the field at any moment. Isner was busy harassing Koby Theodore, while Ulrika Kinlasson ahead had Faredin Pozenel in check - those two had been having a real battle of it so far this game, each one pushing and shoving each other continuously.

He looked around for his player, Kyle Bolton, but found that he'd run off in the two seconds he hadn't been concentrating. Mildly panicking, Nicolas looked around and spotted him, number 15, about 5 metres away, shouting for the ball. Nicolas broke out to reach him but it was already too late, and Bolton was away, sprinting towards goal, onside, with St Teath hot on his heels.

This was a disaster, with the score at 2-2 and with 3 minutes left, St Teath couldn't afford to mess this up. If this goal went in there was no way he'd ever be able to start internationally again. Bolton was almost at the penalty area when he jumped forwards and went in with the slide tackle. The timing simply couldn't have been better, and St Teath didn't touch Bolton as the ball went fizzing out of play, Bolton half jumping half falling over him, appealing wildly to the ref for a non existent penalty - thankfully one the ref didn't give.

He grinned as he got up to receive congratulations from John Lockwood, back in the side, and breathed a long sigh of relief. The two Republican goals had come as mistakes from Isner in the first half and the young Ulrika Kinlasson not three minutes previously. It hadn't been the best of games for him, but it had been a solid start and one that had helped to improve his reputation a bit from the low to which it had sunk. What was more, they'd managed to grab a point against Free Republics, the fascist berks being the other top team in their group along with Turori.

Eagle's Cup Away Leg Complete - Calanian Union Looking For Three Wins To Secure Advancement

27th June 2191
by Harvey Harding

Neorudo, THE CALANIAN UNION---- Two points. That's all the Calanian team's managed to grab on the road, after their game at Protectorate Road last week in Legalese ended with a 3-3 tie that saw our men work hard to gain victory from a 2-0 deficit at halftime. The quick turnaround is much like the career of The Service, whose hit song "Home Sweet Home" saw national success (this was about 40 years ago - I've put the main lyric in the title of this article, I've been on a really bad kick recently) even though the band weren't popular at all.

This tie, coupled with the one we gained against Royal Québec, sits us at the bottom of Group D, a single point away from San Jose Guayabal. Our advantage is, however, that the next three games (and thus the rest of the group stage) will be played at home. This gives us the lovely advantage of having a ground that the players know well, and also the support of all the fans the national team has, cheering them on and making sure that the Union at least progresses to the next stage of the tournament.

At least it would, if we knew exactly where the games were going to be played.

The FMF has kept a tight lip on the venues for the games against San Jose Guayabal, Royal Québec, and Legalese, and nobody has quite ascertained why. Any of the stadiums that the organisation would think of using are, in fact, in a decent condition, and therefore meet continental safety codes and are fit for international play. At Ekitaldia, we had a brainstorm, and could only think of three reasons that the FMF would release the locations as late as possible:

  • They want to minimise the threat of attack from excited fans, or 'ultras', on property and cities that were of the Former Inevitable Syndicate.
  • They don't quite know themselves where the Calanian team is playing it's games.
  • They really hate Ekitaldia, and have told everyone else already where the games are held, just to try and down the news network.

Of these options, we felt the second one was the most likely, and went to the lovely new FMF building in Centralis to ask someone. After I chatted up a receptionist, I was handed a dossier that did in fact contain three stadiums! As a result, I've listed them below, so you know where to go and buy tickets if you want to see these Eagle's Cup games:

Match Day 4 :: The Calanian Union v San Jose Guayabal
Held at The Dajukdome, Milenol (24,770)

A clever choice from the FMF here - the first match is going to be held in territory that is currently under the military control of those we are playing against. The Dajukdome is one of the only large stadiums left in the area that wasn't destroyed in the Corvidae War by anti-Corvidae forces, and while it's showing it's age, it's still a fine place to play football. While FC Milenol haven't existed for a while, local club CF 16 September managed to buy the right to use the stadium for their games from Dajuk a few years ago, who were threatening to turn the stadium into the largest furniture warehouse in the country. While the stadium doesn't exactly have the capacity of somewhere like the Flynn Arena, it still can provide a spectacle when it wants to. And we're hoping it will want to this weekend, giving the Calanian team a decent boost of points to hopefully climb their way past San Jose Guayabal.

Match Day 5 :: The Calanian Union v Royal Québec
Held at Neorudo City Stadium, Neorudo (96,300)

Now, this is more like it. The Flynn Arena's evil twin in the north, uncovered shortly after moving into the city, the Neorudo City Stadium is a relic from a bygone age. Previously known as the Leorudian Olyimpic Stadium, this stadium used to host all of the ex-city state's home games. At the time, it was a tricky place to play a game football, possibly because it wasn't kept to a decent standard, but ever since the city's been recolonised by us plucky Calanians, construction firm Altzari have gutted and re-utted the place so Lehen Neorudo can use it for their LigAnaia games. Nowadays, it's a great place to play some football, and those of us living north of the Bekk will be treated to the Union grabbing another three points against the frozen souls of Royal Québec on Match Day 5.

Match Day 6 :: The Calanian Union v Legalese
Held at The Bird Cage, Magnaeus (48,700)

And what do you when the Eagle's Cup sends Legal Eagles to make your life hell? Well, the FMF thinks we should stick 'em in The Bird Cage, Magnaeus's main stadium situated in one of the highest points of the city. It's not like the slightly thinner air is going to tire anyone out, but on a nice day you might find yourself dazzled the wonderful brilliant white girders that make up the odd, cage-like shape of the place. It's here that the Union will be looking to trap (har har) Legalese into thinking that they've got the game in the bag, but we'll leave them squawking at the Eagle's Club once we pull a bait-and-switch, using tactics learned in our last game against them, to come out of nowhere and take yet another three points in order to clinch the top of the group and leave everyone else crying while we laugh and sail off into the sunset. At least, that's the plan.

I reckon a successful home leg will do wonders to increase the popularity of the national team in the country. Who knows? People might actually find themselves united once again, sports wise in the Calanian Union, should we win this thing. It was like that time Callum Wilkinson won gold at the Olympics - all throughout the tournament, the Fligsivi people were supporting Antonio Cronin, as he "was more local". As soon as he went crashing out the tournament, everyone suddenly switched allegiance to Wilkinson, or didn't care at all. But when he won the damn thing, oh, suddenly he was Syndicatian! I think the same will happen here, for both the southern and northern halves of the country. At least, I hope so, as it'd be nice to write a sarcastic column about...

Government HQ's, San Salvador, SJG.

The colonization process was becoming something important for the government of SJG, duly to natural and economic resources waste could be extracted from different nations, as long as you do not abuse the human rights of people, but the government generated different situations as to think and how to act.

"The process of settlement is vital to our nation, is a way to benefit resources and benefit the inhabitants of these regions, it is also a way to gain ground in geopolitical form" SJG president, Miguel Serrano said.

"But Mr. President, do you consider it appropriate because of the reaction that can lead us to international markets How other nations react? Said the Foreign Minister.

"Hmmm. you said what is worthy of concern, because of concerns that may have different nations, concerning the rights of habitanes." said the Minister of Human Rights.

"We need to do that, but we must consider that to be ridiculous to think that other nations will enslave whole nations and tnias" said Minister of the Interior.

"First, we must establish that for any reason enslave the population of such places as Rossana and Paymina" the President said.

"Also, the fact enslave the inhabitants do not give us any benefit to local and international level, that condemn us to nivvel of The Multiverse" said the economy minister

"It would be stupid, we must also focus on what rights are given to members of the colonies," said the Minister of Human Rights.

"First, they should be free to associate and express themselves, but the big question is how to implement a communist system Debems? Said the Minister of Interior.

"For the love of Lenin and Stalin, as you think we will not do that!" said a member of the Politburo while he broke his cup of coffee accidentally, adding tension and drama at the time.

"Quiet, do not need to be violent to express" The President said.

"In short, this is the way to a plan where we will benefit, and the world will benefit," said the Foreign Minister.

"What you suggest?" said the member of the Politburo.

"The creeación a universal regime, where everyone is equal and we can aspire to the same ideals, to improve humanity and achieve what we have never done and we can only enter with the strength of Communism" said the foreign minister.

"Hahahaha. You have seen many television programs and conspiracy theories about world domination, you'll note below the surface," said Finance Minister.

"You can, and it is not impossible to achieve," said the foreign minister.

"No hopes up, we must first gain a foothold in the region after winning the influence and then continue in the plans, but will not be easy as you think" the President of the Republic said.

"Returning to the colony, this is a very delicate matter, we have the resources to do this?" Interior Minister said.

"Sure, the net income of oil and government investment to help the world, we needed to establish a strong and democratic authority" economy minister said.

"The people will agree?" President of the Republic said.

"If the referendum have come out in our favor, almost overwhelming majorities, villages and Rossana Paymina agree to join the nation normally" the foreign minister said.

"We face threats, there Paymina terrorist groups, there is the Radical Islamist Front, whose aim is to establish a caliphate" the security minister said.

He met dragged on for too long, security issues and social interests were treated there, but also some global issues that could affect the entire The Multiverse, but only a marginal group could not be capable of both, the ambition was to flower skin, but anyway, they were just plans.

"In short, the rights to the inhabitants of the colonies are:

- Freedom of association of any cultural, social, political, religious, etc. Except for criminal activities.

- Nationality of SJG.

- Social protection by the government.

- Religious freedom.

An Epilogue
THE BRINEMOUTH HERALD
BOOK REVIEW: THOSE INSUFFERABLE COCKNEYS
by Henriette Moltke

Those Insufferable Cockneys: How Football United A Nation by Anders Summersteen is an incisive and accurate reflection on Nephara's entry onto the national stage. The title, taken from the soundbite of an unidentified WCC aide after his first meeting with Nepharim officials, was a microcosm of popular opinion towards then-New Sideburn. The Nepharim were (accurately) viewed as arrogant and insular, with public opinion before the Baptism of Fire holding (61%) that Nephara would qualify for the World Cup at the first attempt. The trials to follow were character-defining.

Summersteen starts out with the often-untold story of Nephara's decision to step outside their regional boundaries, feeling it their duty to represent the region of Serenes. This came after they swept their regional tournament, confirming their status as the region's strongest nation, and contributing to an air of overconfidence in the camp and nation as a whole. Summersteen isn't afraid to point out weaknesses in Nephara's past, either - especially critical of a 'quixotic' team selection driven more by a desire to avoid favouring any particular club over another than to choose the best twenty-three players in Nephara (and of those that were, little consideration was given to age), but also scrutinising 'inexplicable squad numbers'.

That said, after that scathing review-

"Alright, alright!" snapped Gethin Ramsey. "That's just about enough of that shit."
"Right, boss," said young Escher Speare apologetically. Young, at least, by looks - she was 47, but looked thirty at most.
"Christ. A contract expires with the Isles after I bring 'em to the Cup both times of asking, pull off a fuckin' miracle in qualifying, and what do I get on my glorious return to the home country? A fuckin' smear campaign! This... this Summersteen, yeah? What was it he said about you?"
"'The malignant badger-creature's little sock-puppet with a calculator,' guv," Speare recited solemnly.
"Yeah. That. Jesus christ! I thought I'd be a national hero for ever."
"You still are, guv. In most circles. It's just that some other circles are noting you gave over fifty caps to an aging one-trick pony right winger played out of position in the right of a midfield diamond."
Ramsey waved his hand vaguely. "I won't say there weren't ... missteps. But hell, it worked out alright. Won us the Baptism, didn't he?"
"Well, yes, guv. After your half-time formation change, that was the only game he actually played at right wing."
"Details! Fact is, I did as best I could. And, hell, I did a fucking lot. For the nation, for Esportiva... hell, for football. I won't have any of this character assassination shit. Where's my cunt of a lawyer?"
"Getting a libel charge to stick, guv? In Nephara?"
"... Point. Ach, either way. The worm's started to turn, the lion's bit the hand that fed it, the arse is in the bacon slicer, all that shit. Those ungrateful fuckers are starting to turn on me, eh? After all I fucking did for them! And the Isles, too!"
There was a pause. Speare checked her watch; another ten minutes until their flight back to Nephara.
"So. Treason's offered you a job, guv?"
"Yeah... and I'll probably take it, too. You know as they say of sharks... can't stop swimming. Whenever they smell blood. Or however that goes. ... Never asked you your plans. Damn fuckin' impolite, that. So, uh. You got anythin' lined up?"
"I'd like a break, to tell the truth," said Speare. "After that, well, we'll see."
"Want my advice?" Ramsey lit a cigar, in blatant violation of a sign barely a metre away. "Don't settle for being the backup. You're good enough for the top job, easy. God knows my last protege did pretty fucking well for herself."
Do I sense some ... envy, there? Mixed with pride? Speare remained silent.
Ramsey sighed, and took a long drag from the cigar. "Anyway. I guess this'll be the last time we see one another. For a while, at least. But hell... you done well by me. You're welcome at my house, or to talk, whenever."
"Thanks, guv. I'll... keep that in mind."
They shook hands as the plane docked. And left, for the time being at least, as friends and equals.

Eelandii, Turori :: It was a difficult defeat for Ematea Saenu's Turori Eels on Matchday 2 of the Eagle's Cup. At home at Almintora National Stadium - The Eels had a lot to prove. The only other Top-10 ranked side in the WCC Rankings in Group A, it was certainly a clash of the group favorites between the World Cup 68 Runners-Up and the Eagle's Cup III champions.

However, goals from experienced attacker Liinai Zakazaka and Teliima Loinara, the young Sporta Eelandii prospect were not enough as the Free Republics dampened the spirit in Cednia Beach stealing all 3 points and setting up even more locker-room material for the Eels on the return trip to the Free Republics later in the competition. Many Eels fans look at the trip to the Free Republics as an opportunity to prove that Turori, and not the Free Republics, would have advanced to the World Cup 68 final had it not been for some unfortunate referring in the Eels Round of 16 defeat to Mytannion in that same competition, held in the Free Republics. Mytannion, heavily favored against the hosts in the Quarter Finals, would be defeated by the Free Republics who used the result to catapult themselves into the upper-echelon while only the Eels perennial consistency allows them to hang on top a top ranking position.

So the turn around was important for Saenu's Eels, returning to Eel's Park in Eelandii for the final home match of their group stage campaign before heading on the road for the second half of the opening round while finishing touches are put on the Infrastucture in Eelandii and the pitch amenities at the Eagle's Club just down the road from Eel's Park in preparation for the Quarter Final matchups to be held there.

While the match against New Montreal States started off slow, the Eel's broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when a long goal kick from Sharif Deniibo was inexplicably allowed to bounce by the inexperienced Paladins defender Vontae Benn.

Now having to turn, Benn stood no chance against Inamari Altariiz who had a full head of steam and stole in to touch the ball calmly past Christian Cornell, giving the Eels the lead. Once the ice was broken, it didn't take long until the Eels doubled their advantage when Inlite Makakio stormed in from midfield and rocked a shot from the top of the 18 yard box that Cornell could do nothing about.

Coach Ematea Saenu made two changes at the helf with Makakio making way for Teliima Loinara and Audioslavia-based midfielder Etamara Kulkkiia being removed in favor of Cednia Beach's own Matlya Eelador.

Eelador had a good match and contributed to each of the Eels next two goals, critically, as some sloppy defending had just allowed New Montreal States back in the game with 2 goals in the 15 minutes since Makakio had scored Turori's second. However, the quick response from the substitute Loinara and then a corner kick headed home by Kigaoua Oalalka restored the Eels two-goal advantage and it would prove insurmountable, with Altariiz adding a second after the hour mark before New Montreal's Phillippe Leroux tapped in a late consolation goal for the Paladins.

At the halfway point of the competition, the Eels were looking strong atop Group A and knew that if results went their way on Matchday 4, they could secure an early passage to the Quarter Finals. Eels fans would know to keep their expectations low, however, as Turori will return to the site of their previous two World Cup finals appearances in order, first traveling to Apox to take on the World Cup 69 hosts whom Turori were unable to defeat in the World Cup 69 Group Stage, then, heading to the volatile Free Republics to take on the World Cup 68 hosts in their own territory, where they were virtually unstoppable during the World Cup 68 finals leading to a Runner-Up finish.

Alikki-Corra, Vilita :: The Vilita Jungle Cats find themselves at the bottom of Group C in the Eagle's Cup group stage and on the brink of elimination with two games to play before the Quarter Final cutoff. After opening their Eagle's Cup campaign with a draw away at Bedistan and a disappointing home draw against West Angola at the Lirai Asku Castle in Yeaddin, it was supposed to be an easier go for the experienced group of Vilitan Veterans.

Instead, things only got worse as the Jungle Cats left Nephara without a point after a 3-2 defeat where they looked to be headed for much worse until a late comeback was spurned on be Jomur Hulyers late brilliance in scoring one and setting up another for Viji-mara Lawaai.

From there, the Vilitan National Team returned home to the Tivali Ring Stadium in Alikki-Corra in the featured clash against Bedistan, a rare but exciting fixture in front of a sell-out crowd. This time, it was the Jungle Cats getting off to a hot start with Yves Gadois opening the scoring just 2 minutes in and Lita Adjei adding a pair of goals before the half hour mark to give the Jungle Cats 3. However, the players of the Bedistan Football Association just wouldn't give in and fought back for a 3-3 draw that left a sour feeling over the Vilitan fanbase as they found themselves 5 points behind Bedistan who were atop the Group C table, and 3 points behind Nephara who occupied the second qualification position.

Though certainly in a precarious position, Nycflala Kater's Jungle Cats still control their own destiny in Group C, and victories in their final two matches against West Angola and Nephara would ensure progression to the Quarter Finals. In fact, depending on the result of Matchday 5, the Jungle Cats could advance with just 4 points over the final two matches if they received help from Bedistan in the opposite fixtures. However, defeat in either of the remaining games against West Angola or Nephara would eliminate the Vilitan National Team from contention.

While some Jungle Cat fans are not suprised at the struggles of the Vilitan squad in the Eagle's Cup, considering many of the players in the roster were not part of the World Cup 69 selection and some had even recently retired from domestic competition, Jungle Cat's head coach refused to blame the players for the teams lack of success, instead, praising the work ethic and skills put on display from the Jungle Cats Group C opponents.

Vilita have a long history of underperforming in the Eagle's Cup, unsurprisingly, as they have a long history of underperforming in many of the International competitions they have competed in; but the Eagle's Cup is one of the rare few tournaments in Vilitan history that has seen absolutely no glimmer of success, no form-breaking success story to rise through the mud of lacklusterness. Early exits at the Quarter Final stage have been a regular occurrence for the Jungle Cats in the Eagle's Cup, a fate that the Jungle Cats will need to be perfect just to have a chance to duplicate in Eelandii.

OOC: This isn't a simple history, this is an unrealistic history :)

A beautiful lady, overlooking a small balcony and lustful, her golden curls in the shadow of the moon was combing her hair.
Her boyfriend came down with a bouquet of flowers in his hands.

-¡My lady!Low and teach me to love as precious petals of the stars love their beautiful and highly exalted midnight darkness!

The beautiful lady laughed and said: "Go away from here, poor fool!"

The groom replied so sad saying, "What have I done to deserve such a response? My beloved.

The bride told a visibly sarcastically: "Your attitude towards me is visibly interested, you care just get some money but my insurance and I will not be stupid to fall in your child's play, phony hypocrite."

The groom departed in the darkness, mourning for his rejection.

The lady continued combing while a vagabond appeared from the darkness and watched as stopped, visibly sorry for unknown reasons, he addressed him in a very melancholy tone telling
lady.

"My dear mine! Have a gun to kill myself? "
The beautiful lady, who gave everything, threw a pistol, but warned in a mocking way:

- "Suicide is silly but if this is your desire, take my gun! But I tell you have one bullet! "

The tramp disappeared the very shadows of the groom, walking in a very lazy way, colliding with the walls of the narrow dingy alley that led to a beautiful meadow illuminated by the light of the night.

At the time, a shot was heard in the distance it was appraised as the tramp lay on the icy pavement under typical midnight darkness.

The lady continued combing and looking in a mirror, glad idolatry receiving due to his talent and beauty, talent radiating around the balcony and along the narrow alley.

A boy appeared and hand over his heart, with the intent to make a wish to the beautiful lady was the balcony.

"-¡Pretty Woman with golden curls! Incredible woman with great physical attributes! Do you happen to have an apple to quell my hunger latent homeless? "

The beautiful lady out of the refrigerator a bucket of ice water, carrying him to his balcony placed it on the floor and went to the child saying:

"What do you think I'll give you something to satisfy your hunger? Poor booty.

The lady did not have time to talk to the child, kicking the bucket, the water fell from the balcony spraying the child with its contents.

Go away from here, plunder hell, you do not deserve to receive anything from me! he said.

The child was crying into the arms of his mother, who watched as the arrogant reaction incapable of pretty lady.

The moon, from its remoteness looked around the room with its beautiful splendor and its peak height at night, down to the beautiful women and thus spoke:

"Why are you so mean to everyone who idolize you, stupid and ignorant woman? "

"Because that's how you have taught me, dear moon, do not leave me a hypocrite because you have molded me as I am now."

"-¡LIE-" Moon said as he devoured the lady of a bite and returned to the magnificent sky full of stars, something filled with satisfaction to the moon because they had the opportunity to kill that beautiful woman who advantage of the suffering of others in order to achieve idolatry.

Jon Quillisi's Sports Column

Under the fresh thinking of new national team manager Gavin Hughes, we have seen a national side begin to turn itself around over the duration of the Eagle's Cup so far, with a number of draws against higher ranked sides. Hughes is still waiting for his first win as national team manager, but as we didn't go into this tournament with particularly high expectations, especially after the group draw was revealed, that's probably still acceptable.

His young, inexperienced squad have done well thus far, especially when you consider the other nations in our group have brought what looks like full strength squads to this tournament, while there are a number of key players left behind for us. The fact also is that, with a number of retirements just happened, Hughes is going to have to re-mould a team, with a number of key positions needing filling.

In defense, there is something of a shortage of wide players, with the left back position especially short staffed. Ben Hatem, while being a useful and talented player, is no superstar, and you won't expect many fireworks from him at left back. That the next best option at left back is Max Viking does fill me with a little dread, as there is next to no cover for this position.

Right back is slightly better, with Jack Lerryn as the Starter, and the mercurial Eneko Treloquithack likely to be his back-up, with Odar Storbrittania also a solid player in case of injuries. However, there is still not a great deal of depth in that position.

Another enigma is the problem of centre midfield. In this position, the problem is very much the opposite of before, in that there is too much choice. With Hughes opting to continue to play a defensive midfielder, now having Ulrika Kinlasson play in that position, there is only one spot for a centre midfielder on the team, with players such as Armando Quillisi, Wilfried Lidgley, Zana Ibrox, Jack Demir, Luxulya St. Cleer and Noel Amundsen all jostling for just one starting spot. While I am biased, I reckon Armando will take it for the CE, but beyond then it's hard to tell.

Wilfried Lidgley and Jack Demir haven't looked completely convincing in the time's they've played there, and in addition haven't looked like adding to the goalscoring threat all that much. Noel Amundsen is likely too old now to be in with a realistic shot of re-breaking his way into the squad, leaving three players who are likely to make, if not the CE squad, then definitely the World Cup squad.

Armando Quillisi is the experienced head now in the centre of midfield, with Matthias Sindelar gone and Jack Moses retiring internationally after this cup, and he is the favourite to start I would say. Luxulya St. Cleer has had plenty of domestic experience, especially now that she has moved to Crisisbless, one of the big clubs in Nephara. In addition to this, her versatility makes her an incredibly useful player, as she is able to play at right midfield well, that being her original position, as well as in a more defensive role, meaning she can give extra cover to Kinlasson. Zana Ibrox looks to be a very exciting prospect, coming through Endeavour's youth system, and looking like she could break through into the first team next season. That would be a big development indeed, as she will have to muscle one of Nikita Pirinen or Alex Terán out of the way to do so. I guess a more complete picture of how suitable she will be for the national team will be picked up once she starts playing regular first team football, although she does look very good already. Indeed, she might also be the player who will be able to set and score the goals in number, which is what this team often tends to rely on.

We've seen it with Ken Rickwright in the early days of the national team (51 caps, 10 goals), before Will Fich became the leader centre midfielder (85 caps, 19 goals). With Jack Moses departing now (73 caps, 16 goals), the national team will need another source of goals from the midfield, beside Kaj Aurora, and in the future, Zana Ibrox could be that player.

Either way, the future's bright.
