The Summer Games of The Union of Confederate Regions (RP&R)

August 30th- September 10th 2014

Hello and welcome to the first Olympic Games if The Union of Confederate Regions.

An expected 50% of nations in The UCR are going to come to Britonisea, Doportedas, to take part in the region's first game. It is thought to be electric.

Britonisea has hosted tournament before including 2 athletics championships which had over 30 events. We have hosted an air Hockey Tournament and also we have held a tennis tournament. We missed out on hosting the BB Tennis open due to real life issues.

If you are wondering about the tournament and what is going to happen, continue reading.

IC information

This event, as you can see, is going to be held in Doportedas which (now) is on the east island of Britonisea. The games will have 147 events for 28 sports. This means there is 147 gold medals to be won. In total there is about 441 medals in total so there is a good chance that each country will get a medal. The baton is travelling around the union. A 38 day race though it might be longer. (OOC: if I sort out some issues) There will be an opening ceremony and a closing ceremony which involves the crowd and all.
The start date is expected to be on the 30th August 2014 until 10th of August. The sport will start on the 31st of August and therefore there will be 11 days of sport...

OOC Information

This event will be scorinated by Xkoranate, which is a free program where you can generate realistic times and scores. This is needed to host such a bid event! For this, and only this, Regional Olympics the sign ups will not include any Skill Modifiers. We will get used to the impact of so many sports. If you want to know Skill Modifiers are skill points that you put against your athlete to state which activity they are in. The lower the skill Modifier, the less chance of winner, the higher the better.

How to sign up.

If you want to sign up for the Regional Olympics, then you have to be apart of the region first! Even if it a temporary stay. Secondly read these instructions very carefully because they might be tricky.

1. Entry name (The full name of your country: Example is The Grand British Kingdom of Britonisea for me)
2. Your Trigramme (The first three letters or any three laters to represent your nation. (Exaple is BRI for Britonisea)

Then leave a few bars and get your players signed up.

3. Write the heading of the sport in caps and bold (Example is AQUATICS)
4. If there is a subheading write it directly below the heding in italics (Swimming)
5. Under that write the event under it in caps. (MEN'S 100m FREESTYLE)
6. Under that again, write the name of the athlete and the trigramme in brackets. (John King (BRI))
7. If you want another event in the same section do it staright under.


If you want to write a team (Like football) you just have to write your nations name and the trigramme. Aslo, next to the sign ups you will see a number in []. This mean how many people you can sign ups for the event. The maximum amount of people you can sign up is 300 people. If you have a puppet please say.

The games are under way, not officially. The Games start officially on August 31. Eight new games records have been made including one from Britonisea. Amy Whiters set a high GR of 473.7 in Female 10m Air Pistol. At the top of the table is Langor Empire as they had a great shot at both shooitng and Rowing. Second is North Britonisea and the independents (Non participants). Great Zlin in third place but one silver or gold medal will change the tables forcing Langor Empire in to second place. The hosts, The Grand British Kingdom are sitting at 4th place and The Ranponian is in fifth. They will be getting in to action in September.

In total Britonisea has received 5 medals and 2 of which are gold medals. Today, Great Zlin has shone today as ten medals was received. They got two gold medals today which brings them to second place. Langor Empire strikes again, with 9 medals received and 4 of which is gold. The Independents and North Britonisea is now trailing in forth place but one medal can turn the tables completely. There is still 123 gold medals still up for grabs so every country, probably except for The Ranponian, could be in first place.


The rest to come in the next hour. Followed by the 4 hour Opening Ceremony at about 6:30pm.

The Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony, though small, spans over 4 hours.

The opening ceremony of The First Olympiad of the Union of Confederate Regions. Starts::19:10-23:45. UTC 1 (Also in Old Britonish Latin)

18:00- Doportedas Time (UTC+2)/ 17:00

The stadium gates open for the start of the Opening ceremony of the first Olympiad. The 75,000 seated stadium is getting ready for the games to start. This is probably the biggest event held in the stadium as there is over forty athletics event happening compared to 32 in the Nationstates Athletics Championship held at least once every year after or just before the Games of The Olympiad-Which is currently being held in The Kylter Peninsulae. About 10,000 people have turned out at the gates so far.

19:00-Doportedas Time (UTC+2)/18:00

It is only one hour and a half before the Opening Ceremony start and at the moment the turn out has turned to 45,000. Tickets for the opening Ceremony was sold out in less than 48 hours though we left out 1,000 seats dotted around the stadium so that the stadium is not too cramped.


19:15-Doportedas Time (UTC+2)/18:15
“One hour left until The Opening Ceremony of The first Olympiad of The Union of Confederate Region starts”The 48,000 people in the stadium started to applause. People from all over the region, and outside the region, came to see the spectacular ceremony which will go on for a few hours. As there is lights by each seat (Like The Olympic Stadium in London 2012), we can do marvellous things and make it look clear and real, so across the stadium you could see a big battery crossing around the stadium. When the battery runs out it will be the start of the Opening Ceremony. The stadium went dark, and you could only see the battery and phones flashing.

20:00-Doportedas Time(UTC+2)/19:00
“Fifteen minutes left until The Opening Ceremony of The Union of Confederate Regions starts”Now there was 72,000 people in the stadium and the rest of the 2,000 people was at customs, pouring in to the stadium. The batter was nearly empty. The crowd was loud.

They knew that they will have to count down from 30. “30...29...28...27...26...25...24.”You could see the number around the stadium and you could see the numbers on the floor of the stadium. “10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...Welcome to The Opening Ceremony of The First Olympiad of The Union of Confederate Regions. Welcome to Doportedas!!”The crowd went wild. For Television viewers they will be able to see the VT (Video Tape) of the games whilst the people in the stadium see the VT on the stadium floor and on the screens.

“Thank-you to the 73,900 people in the stadium here today. Please embrace yourself as you will hear music from singing queen and King from WorldVision, 31 and WorldVision 32. Please welcome Garange L’Iwes and Tess Phillipa.” Tess and Garange started to sing beautiful songs including a welcome to Britonisea song at the end of the song. Tess Phillipa sang her famous song, A man who pushed me down the stairs.

“A round of Applause to Tess Phillipa and Garange L’Iwes.”The crowd was in laughter as they applaud Britonish Pop sensations. “Just before we introduce you to the athletes, please welcome Children of the Little Orphange of Doportedas. It is the oldest and Biggest Orphange and in it’s life it has been home to a quarter of a million children under the age of 14.” The Orphange came out and started to dance in total harmony each of which had a chair and they laid them down in the right place so that the athletes can sit after the parade. Just the right place. This performance took 30 minutes. When they finished putting the chairs in the right way, they started to dance at the edges of the pathway where the 690 athletes take place in.

“Now, it is the Athletes parade. Though we wanted to achieve 1,000 athletes we achieved 690. The 690 comes from nearly all countries in The Union of Confederate Regions.

Great Zlin!! Greav Slizum!! Britonish TV Broadcasters was saying that they had the biggest delegation. The crowd gave them a bit of a roar. Loud Factor: 7/10.
Langor Empire!!! V’Empiror de Langoreia!!! Britonish TV Broadcaster was saying that they had the second biggest delegation and that they were second in charge of The UCR, last cycle. The crowd love Langor Empire. Loud Factor: 9/10.
The Ranponian/Vhe Ramponie!!!!! Britonish TV Broadcasters was saying that they had the smallest delegation of 6 athletes but in high contentions of winning 3 gold medals. Though it is unlikely that they are at the top of the league. Loud Factor: 8/10.
North Britonisea and The Independents/ Nirve de Brityunik and V'Indevencae!!!! Britonish TV Broadcasters was saying that they and The Grand British Kingdom are not working together as they represent the UCR Nations who are not participating Loud Factor 7/10.
Lastly, but not least in home country, The Grand British Kingdom of Britonisea!!/ Vhe Grande Kongdin de Brityunik!! Britonish TV Broadcasters was saying that The Grand British Kingdom has 180 athletes and are expected to come 3rd, after Great Zlin and Langor Empire." Also that The Grand British Kingdom has/owns 150 of the 180 athletes sent to Doportedas meaning on 30 where born in North Britonisea. Loud factor 10/10.

Now that the Parade of Nations had finished, it was time for the first speech of the Ceremony. “Please welcome The Grand Prince of Dendart!”

“Give around of applause for The Grand Prince. Please welcome Mark Brito.” The crowd started to applause loudly for the popular Prime Minister. Because of him, of currency is called the Brito Pound Sterling and also there was some hints of booing.

Hello. Good Afternoon The Grand British Kingdom and The rest of The Union of Confederate Regions. I have not been the leader of the fair nations for very long. My Brother, Lukas Brito, gave me this role in June and I insisted of inquiring of hosting the first Olympic Games of The Union of Confederate regions and I have been very keen to do so. Look where we are today. On a rather cool August 30th to welcome you to Britonisea and North Britonisea. In Britonisea we are determined to give you 20 hours of sports on TV on the sports channels. This games will not affect the Games of The 9th Olympiad but I am sure you would like to watch this instead. So, 700 athletes in our Olympic Park. 11 days of fine action and over 100 medals to be won. Are you going to be pro active? Are you going to be the stars of the future. For about 10 minutes there was a video showing us about the Torch Relay and it was showing it’s journey through the following countries: St Nevis and Kitts, Langor Empire including Khorde Langor, Great Zlin, The Ranponian, North Britonisea and The Grand British Kingdom. The torch then went over to Tazman Island to Doportedas and took a tour around Doportedas.

“Please welcome the Britonish Flag, The Flag of The Union of Confederate Regions and The Flag of The Olympiad of The UCR.” The crowd started to clap but didn’t cheer. They weren’t allowed to cheer. The stadium turned dark with blue spotlights around the stadium. “All rise for the raising of the flags."The Music started in the tune of England’s Jerusalem ((Philharmonic Orchestra) and the anthem of The Olympiad of The UCR was sung by the Telm City symphony Orchestra.

“We are going to take a brief intermission to start Part 2 of the Opening Ceremony of The First Olympiad.” The intermission was there so that the stage will be set to “the Jumping Gymnasts” to go on stage. It took 20 minutes. The stadium, in that time was lit by popular Britonish music. TV Channels was forced to either put on coverage of The Games of The 9th Olympiad or to show reviews of the Opening Ceremony so far.


22:45-Doportedas Time(UTC+2)/ 21:45
The stadium went dark and one light spotlight was on a man who was doing flips and tricks until another man came, then a woman then another. Suddenly 40 men and women where on stage doing rhythmic acts. This was going on for 20 minutes. Included was a sing song from one of the gymnasts. There was car tricks, fire ring tricks, motor bike tricks and much more! It was an amazing site. At the end of their spectacular display, 5 fireworks of the spectrum of colours sparkled across the sky! “Give a round of applause to The Jumping Gymnasts.”

Virkin alari, ladies and gentlemen. First of all, I would like to thank our dear friends, jor Britoneixen, for inviting us to this wonderful ceremony. The Olympics are indeed a true festival of sport, and we are happy to participate in the Olympics held in the city of Doportedas.
The Olympics are based on the idea of creating a peaceful atmosphere for competition, and I therefore hope that that Doportedas 2014 will give the Union an opportunity to unite without any sorrows or conflicts. Let the athletes compete and the spectators watch this great festival. This large, great city has welcomed men and women from all nations of our mighty region. The Games may well become the symbol of hard but rewarding work all athletes have to go through to participate in the Olympics. Look at them - all these people had to overcome their limits to make it to Doportedas, and they succeeded - and here they are, in this city, preparing to take part in one of the most important events the UCR has ever seen. We are extremely proud that some of them are from our country... Let them be an example to all those who inhabit the Union, and may the best man win!

5 athletes come together next to the 3 flags and they started to read the Oath of The Summer Olympiad of the UCR.

We are the games. We are one. As our games' anthem says. We want to achieve the most without anyone stopping us. We will, on behalf of the 700 athletes, will look after these games. We promise not to be rude and hurt people's feeling and if we do damage to the facilities in the Park or to the people we will no longer take part in these games. Everyone is to respect there opponents and we are not permitted to do any damage to them. Show emotion. Be one, show us what you can achieve. Thank-you Britonisea and haove Brityunik.

“Our last act of the night is not singing or dancing or doing gymnastics. Look at this video to find out.” TV viewers see this on their screens while people in the stadium see this on the stadium floor and on screens around the stadium. The video shows the 690 athletes saying one word about these games. This video lasted about 10 minutes only to be inturupted by the planned torch relay.

“Please welcome, Queen Britannia herself. She is running to the Regional Olympic Cauldron where she will read her speech before alight the cauldron.” The Queen of Britonisea ran down the top of the stadium, and the camera’s where on her. The Flame was on top of the stadium in a cubby whole. Where the flame was,there was a stage she went up on the stage. It took 10 minutes for her to get up on to the top and on the stage.

Hello Britonisea and the rest of The Union of Confederate Regions, Ho Brityunik! And vhe avv de V’Union de Regionalles Confederationales. I am very pleased to be here today and to be the first torch barer to light the flame for the first UCR Games. Back in July when Britonisea was confirmed ready, North Britonisea split up with us and we no longer was Britonisea, but The Grand British Kingdom. Though they are under a new government and a two hour flight from Doportedas Airport, I would like to say that they are still with us. Other than that, I am happy that Langor Empire, The Ranponian, The Grand British Kingdom and Great Zlin can come together to celebrate a wonderful tournament. Instead of 147 gold medals awarded, there will be 140. Also the rest of The Union of Confederate Regions and North Britonisea will represent the non-participating nations. We are all in this together. Let this be a memorable moment. We will remember this day for the rest of our lives. We are having 11 days of sporting actions and I, of most, are looking forward to this wonderful games. Hail The Union of Confederate Regions, Hail The Games. At Screen 1 and 2 you will see fireworks in Northern Britonisea, screen 3 and 4 will be Al De Londonisea and Telm City, Screen 5 and 6 will be Luton, Eaux. And the screen floor will be Doportedas. Fireworks start in Eaux and goes across the Island of Britonisea before, ten minutes later, reaching Doportedas 2014.

Super Monday!! The Grand British Kingdom got 5 gold medals today.

The Grand British Kingdom did something unexpected today as they got 5 gold medals. This is the most gold medals that has been awarded on the same day in the history of The UCR Games. That history only started a few days a go. Oreek Dillar, Foreign Wunto and Simon Simone all received a gold medal set the Games Record for the next Summer games which is not being scheduled for April 2015. While both the Women's and the Men's Babbage team won a gold medal tallying up our medals to 9. We are 3 gold medals away from getting at the top of the table but there is still 107 medal events to go. Only time will tell. Some people are excited for the athletics to start but it doesn't start until The 4th of September, which is in 3 days from now. The medal hopes is to now get 20 gold medals and our aspirational target is to get 26 gold medals, 30 silver medals and 20 bronze medals. It is definitely possible to get 26 gold medals.

The Ranponian is at the bottom of the table as they only have a single Bronze medal in sight. Hopefully they will do well in the Men's and the Women's synchronised swimming but it will be a tough competition for them. North Britonisea and The Independents are finally being broken away from the leading group as they are now 3 gold medals away from The Grand British kingdom and it is going to be quite hard to come back from that as their amount of players are running out. the Grand British kingdom, the hosts, are sitting in third place right behind Langor Empire (Who have the most medals) and Great Zlin (Who has the most gold medals). This is how the table is to stand at the end of the week but we want some ups and down and spills. So hopefully the Britonish can pull something up their sleeves. Langor Empire is doing just fine. Sitting very comfortably in second and one medal, gold, could whizz them to top spot. Finally, Great Zlin is in first. With an unexpected win in lacrosse, The Kingdom just pip top spot. Hopefully they can hang on to that. In the Winter Games, in December, Britonisea is looking to send 240 athletes. The maximum will be 250.

Keep on watching the games as we are not done, just yet!
